Great place with parking. Perfect for my 5yo son. No one underneath us. Nice beach a block away. Room was clean. Great stay for family of 3.

The AC Unit was so loud and the TV wasn’t working.

Easy check in and great spot

CBI is located toward the north end of Laguna Beach at the northern end of the free trolley. The highlight for us was the three minute walk to the Crescent Bay Beach. While not private, it was much less busy than other public beaches. CBI is close to a couple restaurants but the bulk of dining and entertainment are further south. Sal is a very helpful front desk person. CBI is an older property that has been adequately maintained. Parking is tight but free. Streetside rooms will be exposed to the Pacific Coast highway traffic noice feathering some fairly aggressive auto noice from time to time. Oceanside rooms are much quieter.

The complimentary waters, Keurig coffee and teas were greatly appreciated in the mornings, as was all of the local information provided by the owner, Sal. Everyone was pleased with the rain showers and comfy beds too. Having a large group, we loved being able to use the patio to hang out. There were plenty of chairs and a large table we used to play cards and games. It was a very comfortable gathering spot for us, I only wish we would have taken Sal up on his offer to make a fire for us. There is also a large assortment of Beach gear out there like boogie boards and sand toys that guests can take from the patio to use on the adjacent beach. The inn is in need of a freshening up as there is wear on the interior/exterior paint and the bedroom furnishings, but we were all very satisfied with the comfort and cleanliness of our rooms so none of us minded too much. Be advised that most of the rooms are upstairs and there are no elevators, so if you have any physical limitations, be sure to call in advance and ask for one of the ground floor rooms. All in all we had a great time at Crescent Bay Inn and hope we can visit again soon.

Very friendly staff, accommodating and welcoming. Ice machine came in handy and you can do laundry if needed. Great place to stay near the beach and other activities nearby. Definitely recommend!

The staff was extremely helpful and kind. The couple of concerns I encountered were that the shower was not working properly and was put together very unprofessionally. Also, the recommended route to the beach is not really appropriate for seniors as it is rocky and could be hazardous causing falls.

The innkeeper/owner (Sal) was beyond helpful, hospitable, and friendly. He provided lots of information on the place and surroundings. The room was very comfortable, clean, and had many extras like a fridge, keurig, microwave, bottled water (teas, coffee, plastic ware, beach towels, and extra water, available in the office). Outside there's a wonderful patio area, outdoor shower, and they have umbrellas, toys, and chairs, you can use for the beach. Great location and experience. Highly recommend!

The perfect location for going to the beach & attending a wedding at Crescent Bay Point Park. Sal was so welcoming, accommodating & incredibly helpful with checking-in! Our ocean view room was updated & very clean. We had a wonderful stay & highly recommend it.

The location was amazing and we had such a great time! The room could use a few refreshing updates, but that’s pretty typical for a beachfront spot in such a prime location. Being so close to the beach made it completely worth it, and we really enjoyed our stay.

Staff was great! Incredibly accommodating and kind. I loved how the beach was walking distance. Room was clean but aged. Just needs a little update. I loved that there was free parking onsite but spaces were tight. If you have a smaller car it’s great but I don’t think a truck would fit.

While the property is on the older side, the room was clean and in great condition, and the bed was comfortable. The manager Sal was very friendly and provided great tips. The beach was a short 3-minute walk down a side path. The hotel provided beach towels, which was nice to have available.

Access to beach is straight up and down. I rolled my ankle. Felt like you were going to fall through the patio walking to the room. Very rude man that runs the place. Said it will all be booked up and only 2 other people showed up. I’m positive they were not thrilled either. Said no smoking on premises so we didn’t but he charged us. Completely unprofessional and he absolutely doesn’t like women.

No ocean view. No housekeeping. We were given trash bags to put our trash outside. We were told to put dirty towels outside room. Hole in bathroom covered with plastic and duct tape. Broken toilet seat which pinched upon using. We had to go to office for towels, cups, Keurig coffee cups. Our room was next to a demolition site with dirt and tractors visible on leaving room. It was my birthday vacation and very disappointing. I am filing a claim for reimbursement, I have all documenting photos.

If you plan to visit the city of Laguna Beach, it is totally advisable to stay here, the rooms are very spacious and very clean and in front desk, very friendly, besides the property is in a very calm and safe area and very serene of the main attractions, I recommend booking your room with sea view and for your car, do not worry, the parking lots are very safe.

The room was comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room has only a peek of the ocean, but is a short walk to the beach. The bathroom shower door hinges were rusty and there were metal shaving all over the floor and toilet lid when we got there. It looks like they attached the towel rack to the wall and drilled through the metal brackets. The rest of the room was nice.

Also would be nice to have a kettle to boil water inside a room - there is a coffee machine, but what if you’re not a coffee drinker?

My room had no shower water so was forced to use water from the sink and found cookie crumbles on my bed from a previous customer that had to been there. The room was not what I was expected. There were also stains on the chair bench next to bed so I had no idea what that was. Just a very uncomfortable stay there overall I wish it would've been a better experience. smh

What a neat little place! I've been to a lot of the hotels in Laguna Beach, and I am adding this one to my list of "secret spots". Clean room with good amenities; short walk to the beach... all the little details make this a great getaway.

My husband and I spent a couple nights at the Crescent Bay Inn as we came into town for a funeral. The accommodations were reasonably priced. The room was sufficient for the price and time needed. We were given the option of upgrading our room to Building C, with an ocean view, for a very reasonable price, however, we did not think the upgrade was necessary for our short visit. We were located in Building A, Rm#111 in the end unit. With this building bordering the highway, it was a little louder at night. We used a white noise machine to drown some of the street noise out, so it was fine for us. The manager, Sal, was wonderful! He's incredibly friendly, gave us lots of suggestions for dining and site seeing. The hotel was located within walking distance of the Pavilions restaurants and within 3 minutes of the beach. We'll definitely keep this place in mind for future visits. The bed was comfortable, linens & towels were clean. The room came with a microwave and mini refrigerator as well. It would've been wonderful to have extra pillows and blanket, but we made it work.

Overall, this was a decent enough stay. The outside of the property looked questionable. The rooms were dated and the bed wasn’t very comfortable. However, it was in a nice and safe area and walkable to the restaurants and shops.

The room was clean but needed repairs such as the towel rack and toilet paper holder, some water damage at the door and but the shower. The room walls are thin and you can hear the neighbors clearly. The room also has a musty smell

From check in to check out, our stay was seamless. The location was great. Not downtown, but about a mile walk if you want to get steps in. There are also restaurants within walking distance.There's close access to the ocean from the hotel and beach towels are provided. Our host was very helpful and ensured we had everything we needed. Hotel/Rooms are older, but clean and the bathrooms had a lovely shower. We would definitely stay here again!

The mgr Sal was so sweet! The beds/pillows so comfy! The rainfall shower so relaxing! The ocean view wonderful surrounded by greenery! Its a small boutique hotel, cost friendly, older structure. Close to laguna beach, free trolley to take you around!

This was our 3rd year staying at Crescent Bay and we love it. Sal and his family are wonderful hosts and the property is a short walk to a lovely beach. If you are seriously in Laguna to enjoy the beach, then this is a great little place to stay.

The young lady at the front desk was just super. She was so knowledgeable about suggestions for us in Laguna Beach. When we decided to stay an extra night, she made it work for us.

Fantastic location right on the PCH. Beautiful view of the bay from window in our room. Walkable to downtown area(about a mile) though there is a free trolley in the evenings. Conveniently located to Crystal Cove State Park. Beach is a two minute walk.

The owner and staff were very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. Its about a 3 or 4 Block walk to the Laguna Beach Trolley and that was an efficient way to get around, once one figures it out. Not many restaurant options nearby, but we enjoyed the downtown area most of the day.

This was a lovely small hotel situated within a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Crescent Bay beach. Sal and his family were so friendly and welcoming, giving us loads of tips on things to do. They went above and beyond to make our stay just perfect. The room was clean, very comfortable and extremely well equipped. We loved it

Great access to Creacent beach, property had umbrellas, chairs even some boogie boards available for use which was fantastic to take the short walk down to the beach! Very helpful staff in getting us set up to catch the Laguna trolley.

This hotel was awesome. Clean, local to where we celebrated our anniversary dinner. Staff was so friendly & went above & beyond showing us the pathway to the beach, which was a 3 minute walk, even offered to start the patio fire pit for us. Only down side, we had an oceanfront room & the trees needed to be trimmed to see the ocean, but I believe it’s a property in front of the view. We will definitely be back!

The room was overlooking rooftops of another building and was described as beachfront . The towels had stains and the bed was uncomfortable and the sheets weren’t clean.gross. When I went to the office to let them know how unhappy I was , the wife was seething with hate and the owner blamed everyone else . The stairs going up to the room were dangerous and the walkway was old , rotted looking . It is called an inn , but there’s no food or drinks. The door to the lobby(if that’s what you could call it) was always locked . I felt unsafe. The owner was as rude as you can get, blaming me for picking the room, like I had a choice .

Location is close to beach and parking is included in the rate, rooms are renovated and well appointed with comfy bed, excellent shower. We had a quiet room with a little sliver ocean view and could hear the waves. Sal is really nice and helpful about the trolly to festivals and restaurant options. Good for a quick overnight or cheap weekly stay a short distance from the super crowded main beach area.

Property was just ok. We are use to cleaner places. Very dark inside room. We stayed 4 days and no house keeping. The owner was very nice and helpful. Free water and coffee. I would not stay there again because the rooms were very outdated. Close to beach but no restaurants. Parking was a nightmare.

Needs renovation. Deck is deteriorating…scary to walk on…thought we would fall through. Furniture in room was was not standing straight due to sagging floor. Non-smoking room but it smelled of smoke.

The property and location were really good. The oceanview room could see the water through trees & over other rooftops which I enjoyed as it was a cozy local kind of view. The location was near enough to stuff in the city without being in an overly busy area, and you can walk to the beach and overlooks. On our arrival day, though, we received an email asking us for arrival time. I responded with an estimate, but a few hours later we received a phone call asking for our arrival time again. I've never had a hotel *call* to ask for an arrival time (email, yes) and was pretty annoyed because it interrupted our vacation activities to verbally ask a question we'd already responded to via email. Parking was free/onsite, but very tight because it's underneath the accommodations, so you need to be careful with larger vehicles. I appreciated the Starbucks k cups in the room, but there was only 1 bar of soap for hand washing & showers (fortunately we had extra in our bag) and the shampoo/conditioner was a combo ("conditioning shampoo") in tiny plastic envelope packets. We got by with those since we were only there 1 night, but for the hotel price & location I was surprised by the low quality toiletries and would definitely purchase something else to use if I was there more than 1 night.

We had a great stay at the Crescent Bay Inn for my nieces wedding. Sal was so helpful and we had a great room with a peek a boo view of the ocean.(Room 208). Loved the beach chairs, easy walk to the beach, the beds and the view. We would go back for another visit, it was a affordable option for Laguna!

The property is older but the room was clean. There are no premier channels to watch just local channels and there was a line running down the middle of the tv that was annoying to see when your trying to watch a show. The so called ocean view is hindered by brush and tree over growth. I wouldn't pay an extra $20 a night for that but you can hear the waves crashing on shore. Walk to beach is more like a 10 to 15 minute walk depending on your speed. Comfortable beds but a bit pricey for a no frills hotel.

Not customer friendly when checking in. No phones in our room to request service or ask for information. Could not operate shower, handle has rusted screw, no instructions. Bare minimum motel not an inn. Bed has only 2 small pillows which were very uncomfortable. No continental breakfast.

The check in was very easy, the front desk gentleman had some great local knowledge and provided information on local transportation, times for the sunset and sunrise, and some restaurant recommendations.

The hotel was great. Sal and his wife were very accommodating and helpful. The room was very comfortable and the location was great. It’s 3 minutes walking from the beach They provided beach chairs and buckets and beach toys for the kids. We will return to the hotel if back in Laguna. The only downside was some early evening road traffic noise if your room is close to the road.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Location was close to all main attractions including the beach and a free trolley that runs throughout Laguna. A big highlight was SAL who runs the Inn. Absolutely a pleasure. Friendly, knowledgeable and has everything you need as well as great food referrals. It's rare staff is such a high point.

I would not stay here again due to the discrepant (wrong) information posted on its website and onsite which a reasonable person would not have anticipated, including my friend and me.

Convenient spot for getting to a run in Crystal Cove state park. Had to find a place to purchase decaf coffee for the Keurig coffee maker since they only provide regular coffee. I had no idea how difficult finding parking was on a weekend in Laguna!

Booked this last year and this year for my April birthday. Sal is very willing to take care of you and is a very good property manager. Very nice stay if you want to stay in the northern Laguna Beach area. Trolleys easy to get to to take you downtown. And Crescent Beach access is very close. Will do this again.

If you're looking for a more lively nightlife scene, Newport and Costa Mesa are just a 20-minute drive away. What truly made our stay special was the incredible hospitality from Sal and his team. Sal went above and beyond, sharing local tips and must-visit spots that really enhanced our trip. Friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming—exactly what you hope for in a host. We’ll definitely be back!

The block we stayed in was a bit tired. But at this price point and location. A lot of these things can be overlooked on a short stay as they were outnumbered by the positives.

The inn is conveniently located in Laguna Beach and there is a close cove within 5 minutes walking distance. The room itself was dated and uncomfortable. Contrary to what is written on the website, there are no down comforters or pillows, the sheets are threadbare and definitely not 450 TC, and the mattresses are overly soft and uncomfortable. When we arrived, the innkeeper informed us that there would be no housekeeping for our 3 nights stay. The wifi is unusable. We had to use our cell phones as hotspots. What is really concerning is that the information provided on the website is patently false.

This was an incredible place to stay! The little hotel is a bit dated, but the service and the cleanliness and accessibility to everything we wanted was top-notch. Sal was so helpful from the time I made my reservations all the way through my trip. I can’t say enough good things about my service at Crescent Bay Inn.

I enjoyed staying at Crescent Bay Inn. It was comfortable, safe, clean, and I slept really well. It's only 4 minutes to walk to the beach. I didnt get to go to the beach but will definitely do that next time.

Sal is GREAT! Super helpful and was so nice to my kids. The property is outdated and a little outside of the main area. However, the beach access is amazing! For the price and hospitality, we will stay here again.

We were in town for our sons wedding.

Its an older motel but very clean and the beds were confortable. I loved the soap and bottles of water left in the room. The walk to the beach was 5 minutes or less.

We loved the brand of body soap, shampoo and lotion that were complimentary in our room and the bed was very comfortable. We also thought the owners were very sweet.
