Residence Inn by Marriott La Mirada Buena Park

Parking spots need to be reconfigured as the small spaces resulted in many vehicles choosing to double park. The property is definitely dated. We were in the area for an event and had booked over a month ago, but due time the chemical leak, many families were displaced and ended up in local hotels. Due to the crowds, we opted to check out and skipped the breakfast.

We stayed here during the Garden Grove evacuation with our 2-year-old child, so this was especially disappointing. Unfortunately, because most hotels in the area were fully booked, we had very limited options. When we notified the manager about the issue, we were told that maintenance would come inspect the room. However, no one ever followed up with us, and there was no indication that anyone actually checked the room or attempted to address the odor. We are quite certain that no one came to inspect it. Overall, we were disappointed by the lack of response and effort to resolve the issue, especially considering the circumstances that brought us here.

The 2-bedroom was pricey and the pet fee was exorbitant at $150 which is almost the price of a standard room.

We had to evacuate our vacation home due to a chemical emergency. Going from a 6 bedroom home family reunion to a few hotel rooms was not ideal, but the staff was so kind and helpful to us. The kitchenette cooktop allowed us to utilize the food we had already purchased and the large lobby gathering area worked perfectly for our group of 13 to visit and play games.

Check in staff was friendly, Continental breakfast is wonderful and the rooms are clean. We noticed the bathroom wallpaper is lifting from the wall and needs to be replaced.

We paid 550 a night for the family suite, was supposed to have two queen beds but had two double , the room and hotel is very old probably 50s or 60s , outdated smelled horrible had broken toilet and broken TV , I will say they came and fixed it quickly, didn't help the smell, this is a 50-100 a night motel not 550 like we paid , stay away

Recently stayed at resident inn Marriott in La Mirada and had the most horrible experience soon as check in I ask about my points and the employee was condescending, he replied I would need to have your Marriott card in order to redeem points, I explain to him I never used a physical card it would be through my app or membership number, he said " maybe you can get one sent out" I told him that wouldn't be possible, he replied back " ya highly doubt it." I wanted to talk to a manager but none were on duty for the weekend. He then books me a room all the way in the back of complex by construction and garbage cans, the rooms were dated and dingy looking. Avoid #417 showering water overflows drainage issues, Following morning another employee tried to help me regarding my points which I appreciate but we shall see. Word of advice is let this be your last option yes it's nice to have the space, free parking and breakfast but there's a price of comfortability to pay for as well as customer service for a peace of mind. Overall experience was not good.

Easy to get to, close to freeway and food. The space is great, with small living room area and tv, kitchen (even though we didn't use it this trip), and spacious bathroom and closet space. The breakfast was really great, too!

Breakfast was very good. Hotel was clean and quiet. Staff was helpful. My only complaint was that the Expedia explanation was not clear on the number of beds.

From start to finish, this hotel was not ideal. During checkin, the woman at the front desk didn’t appear professional in anyway. We asked questions politely and was just met with, “I don’t knows”. The room itself was dingy, dirty and unkempt. The area as a whole was very rundown. The walls were dirty, the toilet was dirty, we had hairs on the bedding. We paid quite a bit for this room and it was a huge disappointment.

Front manager was rude and caustic. Threatened to cancel my prepaid reservation because I was having trouble with my credit card chip for the incidentals, then threatened to have me removed when I told him I was going to call his manager and report how awful his customer service was. Then he refused to give me his full name. It didn't matter because his manager never responded to my e-mails... maybe he gave me the wrong contact info. Avoid this place if you are looking for warm and welcome customer service

The people staying in the room above us were extremely loud all night, stomping and talking loudly and drinking, even throwing glass bottles on the concrete at 5am when they finally left. I’ve stayed at this hotel many times and this was by far the worst. There was also mold in the tub and bathroom sink.

Our keycards were changed 5 times and the door battery changed, but they would never stay connected to the room. They were not stored near phones or credit cards. Our only reliable way to enter our room was the mobile key on my phone. Also, the kitchen sink had a leak that I reported but was not addressed. Then when I ran the dishwasher, it backed up into the sink and almost flooded the room. The hotel overall was nice, but our room is in great need of maintenance.

Clean and adequate room.

Room / carpet was old and smelly . The toilet was slow moving and was almost clogged. When I told the front desk, they sent someone up after a few hours who just used a plunger that didn’t work after I told them to run a snake to clear the clog.

Our room was clean and beds were amazing.. Staff were super helpful and even let us check in early, so we could get a nap before Knottscaryfarms that night. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, plus a game of tennis. (They provided the rackets and balls. )They also have a nice bbq and firepit to enjoy. Loved staying here. Thank you for the great hospitality.

Back area parking is the best. Always a popular place everyday of the week. Some minor maintenance and upkeep needs to be done. Towel bars are loose, ect.

Lots of repair issues that should be addressed (peeling paint on bathroom doors, carpet loose, saggy pull out bed, smell of dog urine in bedroom, many spiders, etc.). We took 3 grandchildren to Knott’s Berry Farm and expected to use hotel pool, but there was a problem with pool filtration system (milky white water) and the kids couldn’t swim. One of the kids was bitten in 3 places by spiders while he slept. Breakfast offerings were nice. Probably would not return.

Reception took longer than usual, people behind the counter just talking, The kitchen had lots of ants, the TV did not work and late at night there were people outside the room smoking what smelled like marijuana weed.. We stayed here many times before but this place has gone down hill at 220 bucks a night this was insane. Never again, .

Great place. I left another hotel to go here. It was so quiet and had hot watcher. I loved it.

It was very different because the building was an apartment complex before but they still made it feel like a hotel. The 2 bedroom suite was very spacious, had all amenities listed. Was difficult when there was no big trash can for the kitchen or bags to be able to toss items after cooking

This is like a mid-level property. It is 1000 times better than the Discount properties around the theme parks (I have found those Discount properties to be filled with homelessness and they are often filthy). This is still close to the theme park, but is clean and seems safe. It also appears to have maybe started it off as an apartment complex so you get a full kitchen, and full bedrooms. The unit we stayed in was very nice. This is great for families or even a group of friends. 10/10 recommendation.

It’s a nice, clean room. The area is near some restaurants and an In-N-Out Burger, so it's convenient to go to nearby areas. The staff is friendly and supportive.

The workers were extremely helpful when above and beyond to help and make sure my needs were met and that I was comfortable the cleaning part I wouldn’t give a 10 out of ten when we got in the room it was clean but we noticed there was plastic bags over the smoke detector that the cleaning person didn’t catch not really a big deal but the pillows on the couch smelled horrible like sweat and nasty feet other than that it was nice

Cons: dirty, gnats, unmaintained room, damaged/burnt furniture, moldy smell, non locking windows (they can be opened all the way), sketchy people hanging around the property and a breakfast staff attendant that was more focused on the conversation with a relative or her boyfriend instead of cleaning/tending/stocking the breakfast area. Hey Residence Inn By Marriot, this property can be so much better but it seems to have been very neglected - I was truly surprised and disappointed.

Our favorite place to stay in that area - rooms are clean and spacious, nice kitchen, very nice complimentary breakfast, lots of free parking.

There were plumbing issues I was awaken every hour but loud sounds coming from bathroom wall. There were no linens for hide a bed after we went to desk 2 times finally at 1110 pm they brought 1 sheet and 3 blankets and we were told that was the best solution. I asked if they could take sheets from an unoccupied room they said no. I asked if I could change room to one with bedding they said they don't change room because some feels inconvienced. Bad news from this chain!

I stay at this establishment every time I come to see family in La Mirada. I appreciate the great service and the cozy rooms. The bed could use an upgrade and even though this hotel is a bit older they still keep it up very good

This place is always friendly and help

The one bedroom suite is spaced out nicely, but was dirty. There was a dead bug in the bed and the room looks like it was vacant for a while and I let the front desk know they should have the rooms cleaned prior to next guest checking in. The microwave handle was broken, and there was a sharp piece of plastic behind the handle that I almost cut my hand on in the microwave plate did not fit the microwave. It could be a great place to stay if they would only give a little more TLC to there property.

Room was in poor shape. Fridge had a broken footing so it would never close. Water faucet in tub was always leaking. Couch was torn and open.

Quiet nice clean

A place we will continue to choose when we visit the area. The service from the font desk, to housekeeping, to breakfast attendants were so welcoming and kind. I looked forward to the various continental breakfast items and the steadfast ones, each morning. The breakfast attendants kept everything replenished and anticipated what was going to be out soon. They were also wonderful to chat with and kind hearted. You could see that they enjoyed their work and the opportunities to talk to guests. The room we selected was a studio- good amount of space for two even three guests and well utensils stocked kitchen area. The hotel offers Wi-fi which helped at night when the kiddos go off to bed and you want to stream from your favorite service. The Tv is on a swivel which helped not only divided the room but minimize the blue light in kid's faces. We will be back :)

Things broken, unclean

Studio room was fully equipped for a longer stay than our overnight stay. Really enjoyed it -clean, roomy, all kitchen amenities, fireplace (no wood, but probably could have gotten it if you wanted a fire), big TV, nice shower. Basic free breakfast

It was comfortable. We got the 1 bedroom and it has living area with sofa bed, and a kitchen. The bathroom is very clean.

This is my third year staying here and was super disappointed. Breakfast was very sad with basic hard pastries and juice was out. Welcome bags were a joke with 50cent water and 2 dollar cookie. Pool towels are basically rags. Room blankets are like hard like rocks and possibly 10 years old. At least grounds were very clean and staff did clean room well. It’s just seems like they are being very cheap with products and guest supplies. Will have to stay somewhere else for next years week stay!

Comfortable hotel with full kitchen, great for travel with young athletes for a multi day sports meet. Quiet during the day, my athlete was able to nap and recharge after prelims and before the finals.

This was a work visit and very very close to my office. Good bar and food options, 15 min Uber to Disney. Only complaint is the AC does not get cool enough. Otherwise a nice stay.

Those traveling with a pet, beware. Their pet fee is $150. That's 3x more than I've ever paid when traveling with my dog. And that was for 1 night. Never again.

It was really nasty. Burns in carpet. Room Smelled like mold/mildew. There was trash outside our bedroom. Felt like an unsafe area. Really downhill. Other than that it was great!

Mop the floors and if the coffeein the lobby is not hot, it's not "ready."

The room was horrible. The fridge leaked water all over the floor. The drain was plugged in the bathtub. The was very apparent water damage to the drywall in the bathroom. The repairs were made very poorly. There were visible areas of mold and mildew in the room.

Property works as a place to sleep at night after a busy day out. There are plenty of dining options nearby and the breakfast offered here is adequate. But the place looks outdated and could be cleaner.

Easy and good stay at the residence inn. Enjoyed our two bedroom suite that came with two bathrooms. It made for a very convenient trip.

The staff was AMAZING and friendly at check in but our room was not the experience we normally have here. We did ask for another room and it was no problem they were very accommodating.

Moms need a Girl's Night Out once in a while, and a few of my friends and I decided we would make it happen at least once a month. This was our first time at this Residence Inn and we were not disappointed. We got the One Bedroom option so we could hang out in a living room / dining room, and for the ones who needed to go to bed earlier than the others, could go to the bedroom to sleep. It was perfect, clean, quiet and spacious. And with it having a full kitchen, we did potluck take-out style so we saved money on dinner. Margaritas, pizza, salad, wings and strawberries in the room in our jammies was the best Girls Night Out yet.
