Night staff was super friendly and helpful. Pool was way too crowded with non guests & water was cloudy! AC didn’t work great and ice machine on our floor was broke

I really enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. This is a bit nit-picky, but I would have liked a wand-style shower head in the tub.

Very disappointed with our room as it was facing the freeway and the noise was awful ALL night. Even a noise machine didn’t help. Possible rooms further away could have been better. Pool water was not clear.

The room was clean but it didn’t seem like the hotel was maintained very well. The hotel doesn’t seem old, just seems like it needs some TLC. The beds were pretty comfortable. The breakfast was good. In town for a swim meet and would probably stay again.

Right away, the woman at the front desk was very friendly and greeted me with a fresh chocolate chip cookie. I had a question about my bill and the deposit which was explained thoroughly and professionally. The room was clean, simple and very nice. Beware of a coffee machine, it seems like a Keurig, but it’s not intuitive. I poured more than a single cup full into the brewing compartment and it overflowed when pouring coffee. Oh well. The pool and hot tub were adequate, breakfast buffet was nice, I would come back to this place.

The employees were all friendly and helpful. The property was a bit old, but it has been updated. Breakfast was good.

Need a better breakfast

I love this property . It has everything you want in a stay. The staff is great . There is plenty on site parking. The breakfast was delicious. Hot and cold items. Nice selection. I try and stay here whenever I visit San Diego Parking. Breakfast room size and great beds. The staff is always gracious as well

Our 3-night stay was enjoyable. The breakfast was above average, and there is an excellent restaurant right door we could walk to. The only drawback was the freeway noise.

Only complaint is a bedside lamp wasn't working and the bed was very flimsy probably needed to be replaced.

On checkout day I noticed an unauthorized charge, was told management would contact me "today or tomorrow". Five days and still have heard NOTHING. I feel as if I was fined for reporting the mold. Great staff, up until management made it very clear to me that 1) They cared nothing about my family's health and the mold issue and 2) They cared nothing about the unauthorized charge.

This was a good hotel. It was not fancy, but it was clean, staff was always helpful and nice and I felt safe here. The breakfast was varied and good. The only negative is it was close to the loud freeway.

The hotel is super clean, smells really good, the staff in my opinion is short, there is one guy very nice and helpfull, the rest, needs more effort, the breakfast was ok but at that time there were no eggs, hottube was to noisy, the toilet was not flushed but they fixed fast, the ac was not working properly. In general mantain needs pay more atention. But again is a good place to stay because is very clean, and the staff is nice.

1. Check in staff is ok. Check out staff is more friendly and pleasant. 2. Room is ok. Just a normal older decor, but clean. 3. Breakfast is ok. Have everything, but simple. 4. Used the gym which was nice. Small, but all all the equipment and weights. Laundry is located in a room inside the gym. 5. Hot tube fits 5 people only. Didnt get to use it because it was full. 6. Location is right next to the freeway. You can hear a bit of the noise if your room is closed to the freeway.

It is an older building but well kept. The breakfast was awesome and staff very friendly. It was a comfortable stay. We were close to the hospital which is the reason for our stay.

Room 302 was not great because the sliding glass door had a gap in the seal so at night we heard every car & motorcycle that drove by on the freeway. I’m usually a heavy sleeper and the constant semi truck and motorcycle noise from the freeway woke me up often.

The entire staff was wonderful, always friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and well updated. Breakfast was a level above what you would expect from this hotel category. The wifi was a bit weak in parts of the room. Overall, we plan to go there again.

The hotel was next to the 8 freeway. I was unable to sleep with the noise from the freeway. The bed was comfortable. Next time, I’m bringing my pillow from home. The free internet was really slow. Other than that, there was no parking fee and free continental breakfast. Overall, I would not recommend staying here. I would look for a hotel that is not next to a freeway.

We had a hard time finding the breakfast room. After we found it we saw the signs. Duh!

Staff is very friendly when we got there. The first one we got the bathroom wasn’t clean properly went back downstairs. They gave us another room for breakfast was good. They offer a variety that anyone can find something to eat.

One night during my stay, some young adults started screaming in the hallway and it lasted off and on for a half hour, it was 2am.

The room was fine and the breakfast was good and fresh. The only issue is 15 minutes after I got to my room another couple unlocked my door and walked into my room. Apparently they were given the same room and their key card unlocked my door. Not great!!

Loud and crowded

There is virtually no sound proofing in this place. The people talking in the hallways at all hours were obnoxious and loud. Not a great neighborhood for walking etc. The lobby looks sketchy but the rooms are better. Just loud.

Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. This place is crawling with homeless people giving you dirty looks, there were grasshoppers in my room, and the front desk does not answer the phone - ever. Try calling them now. The hot tub is luke warm at best, and the area is dangerous in general

Very nice sized room with double queen beds. We slept comfortably every night. Lots of pillows to use. Great sized desk and chair with another comfy, chair and small table. Nice to have a microwave and small fridge with a little freezer compartment. We put a cup of ice cream in and it melted slightly by the next day. Nice countertop and dresser with a ledge to put extra things on. The bathroom was spacious with a nice Rain shower head. Very good buffet breakfast with lots of protein choices, cereal, variety of waffles, breads, pancakes, bagels sweet breads, with fruits, juices, yogurt, and cow and oat milks, tea and coffees. The staff was excellent and very informed about the area. The trolley light rail was within a mile of the hotel. You can buy a Pronto card for $2, and for$6 more buy an all day pass to ride trolley/ light rail and buses all over San Diego. Very nice touch with an outdoor pool and hot tub.

The staff was friendly but the guests had young children running the hallways before 7am. The ice machine on 3rd floor was empty. The ice machine on 2nd floor was sufficient.

Room was in decent condition. Bed was probably comfortable for most people. I like a squishier mattress and a lot of people would like a firmer mattress, so it's a nice middle ground. The breakfast was good, room was clean. My niece took a shower in the evening after we hit the lovely hot tub and her shower was good and hot. When I took one at 7AM the water was probably about the temperature of a heated pool - OK for that but cold for a shower. I could stand it but it wasn't pleasant. I checked the temp again about 10AM and it was back to hot. I guess they need a bigger water heater? A tankless water heater? I wouldn't avoid staying there, but I wouldn't seek it out either.

There was no hot water and the staff did not offer another room or any compensation. The manager would not even talk to me.

Room and property is very old with attempt at some renovations but still obviously old with paint chipping noticed all over. Our room was very dusty. Housekeeping serviced our room on day 2 and only made the bed...i guess they didnt notice dusty nightstands as both were srill dusty after housekeeping service. Ice machine on our floor not operational. Women's restroom in lobby out of order throughout our stay. Housekeeping staff took over breakfast area just before 930 with their loud conservations and locked door (while we were still eating), like this was their private break room. Wifi was terribly slow and I couldnt even get enough speed to check email, let alone work.

Booked a last minute reservation due to some work being done at the house. The website said there was a hot tub. When we arrived, we were informed it was not working. This should have been listed on the website. I would not have booked

The room was a very unclean black mold on the floors in the bathroom all along the edges of the wall along the edge of the tub completely. Unsanitary advertising that a hot tub and pool is available. Neither one was breakfast was okay. The only good thing about this stay was the gentleman working the front desk by the name of Thaddeus. We actually ended up leaving this hotel a night early and just eating our booking that we paid for. Due to being so unhappy in and on sanitary place. This will not be a place that we go back to in future visits to home. Really upsetting a lot of the times. Best Western pluses are good alternative to expensive hotels, but this one just didn't serve its purpose for us other than a warm, dry place to sleep

The stay was fine. A few issues with the beds in the suite. We were supposed to have a king, queen, and full bed. We had a king and full bed. The third bed was missing. No pull out sofa. They brought a twin bed in, but it was uncomfortable, so a person ended up sleeping in the couch. Lurch counter under Keurig was very dirty. No body wash in the bathroom.

The service and accommodations at this hotel was like how hotels used to treat their guests- with extra little perks and very friendly people working there! I have stayed at several in the area and this hotel far exceeds all the others in all areas for a very good price. The employees here were so helpful when needed and acknowledged you in a super nice manner. The room was spic and span and very comfortable. It has easy access from the freeway and easy parking. For me it is 5+ stars! I will be back next time I visit my family in San Diego.

The room was dirty when i came in

The hotel was great as well as the breakfast and front desk folks. Housekeeping and their supplies were decent. They never had enough towels and other supplies. We didn't have them clean our room we did it ourselves but it took forever to get the supplies we need and we even offered to come get them but they never had them or they had to scramble to find them. I think they just need a little bit more organization in that department. Otherwise it's a good place to stay especially if you're visiting East County.

The front desk staff was less than friendly, not particularly helpful and gave wrong information.

So he told us we must have housekeeping let us in (the laundry room was in the gym and we wanted to wash some clothes from our long trip). There wasn’t anyone around to open the door so we had to forego the washing. A little disappointing. Other then that, it was an overall good stay.

We were put in a room facing the freeway. We called the front desk and they were able to quickly move us. Hotel was clean, a couple surfaces in the room were not wiped down but the linens and towels were fresh and clean. Breakfast had a good selection of items. Staff were all friendly. If you are looking for a clean and neat hotel, no frills, this is that hotel. But if you are looking for some luxury, then consider other options.

The room was surprisingly spacious and very clean. I liked having a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Temperature controls worked well. My room faced the main road so there was some noise but closing the curtains muted the sound and I had no trouble sleeping. I appreciated the breakfast and always available free coffee.

Our room was clean, and beds were comfortable. Only downside is it’s noisy because its right next to the freeway. And the breakfast just wasn’t that good. And not many options.

Do not pay extra for a balcony. There it's to thin to put furniture to sit out there and I don't think you would even want to because the freeway noise is so loud you can barely hear anyone talk. Breakfast is good, and staff is beyond nice an accommodating! Room was ok, but placement of the air conditioner next to the bed is horrid. If you sleep there it blows right in your face and there is nothing you can do about it unless you turn it off and boil all night.

We had room 310. AC was very noisy and badly needed. Opened window, but freeway noise was too much. The bathroom tiles had not been grouted, so the grooves were full of dirt. The room was hot at night, becaise we could not sleep with the noisy AC. The hotel is overpriced for the offering. Staff was nice and the hotel was clean, however.

We had to wait 1 hour to check in at exactly 3 pm and no air conditioning in the lobby on a super hot day

Hotel location very convenient Near everything. And very clean. Front desk personal fabulous . Our housekeeper Carmen very nice kept us supplied with everything. Breakfast buffet delicious hot and could very organized and clean. Definitely will stay there again ☺️

The customer service was great, check in was fast, room was clean but the AC made a lot of noise like if it needed maintenance or something, the bathroom was clean but a little dirty like dusty. overall very clean and nice staff. Complimentary breakfast was good as well.

Over booked. No other accommodation were offered! I’ll never stay there again. I have stayed there twice previously..

This is a pretty good option for an expensive area. The staff is friendly and the breakfast buffet is actually the best I've seen in a very long time (and I do LOTS of hotel travel), with some Gluten Free options. The property is a little dated but clean. Rooms in the 101-105 range (201 on 2d floor, etc) will be next to a very noisy freeway. A/C unit is wall mounted and loud. Bed is comfortable. We did get a strong sewer smell from the shower drain, and had to air the room out upon our return--not pleasant. Our room 305 was handicapped access and the pitch of the tile was wrong, which led to the bathroom floor flooding each time we showered, so ask for extra towels to build a dam. VERY friendly breakfast staff in the AM, with a menu that changes each day--all food was good quality, and the serving/dining area was very clean. Some covered parking is available, which was nice to keep the car from getting too hot. Overall this was a decent value for a highly-inflated hotel market, but it's not luxurious.

First, the positive… the staff was very friendly and professional. We were warmly greeted every morning by housekeeping and other staff. Now the negative… the facility is old and shows its age. The door to our room always stuck. I had to hit it with my shoulder to open it. If my wife was alone, she couldn’t open the door by herself. The paint in the hallway and room were different shades of white or primer. It looked as if they were patched to repaint and then changed their minds and rehung the pictures on the walls. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling. The room temperature was either arctic cold or desert hot. We couldn’t adjust it to a comfortable temperature. These things that I’m pointing out might seem petty, but I was expecting something a little nicer. If appearances aren’t important to you, then it’s a great place to stay.

We have stayed here many times and it has been great… this time we had driven for hours and were told our card was denied….I showed them my receipt and how everything had been prepaid… The front desk gal was but we can’t charge me… Expedia needs to call me… so I got on line and asked for someone to contact the hotel they did but all this too more than an hour going back and fourth… got our keys and the girls were not really done cleaning the room and my husband and I realized that the room we were given over looked the freeway… so three nights sleeping on the freeway… not the best!

I booked this room for a friend from out of state. After his stay he commented the A/C and the radio did not work. I do not know if he called for help, as he got it quite late and was ready for rest. I was not present, but I am disappointed nevertheless.

My 88 year old mom and i stayed for 2 nights and the hotel was perfect for us. the bath had bars so my mom could hold onto them and shower. it was close to family and our favorite restaurant Anthonys

It's very quiet, clean and the staff is very friendly. No noise while sleeping. And the breakfast is great. A lot to choose from.

Property isn’t for family stay. Too many sketchy people hanging around the property. Property condition is the same as a motel.

I enjoyed my stay very much. Three key areas are what will keep me coming back to a hotel. 1. Location- the location of this hotel was perfect for my stay. 2. Cleanliness- this hotel places an emphasis on being clean. Love it! 3. Comfort- the beds and pillows are incredibly comfortable relative to other hotels at which Ive stayed for business or pleasure. The breakfast was good, there are restaurants and shopping nearby, and there is a small pool and jacuzzi that rounds out the experience. ❤️
