The room smelled faintly of smoke when we walked in. it was large and roomy, but the bed was uncomfortable and we couldn't find a hair dryer in the room. We've stayed at other RRI's in the past and always had a good stay. We probably won't be using this one again.

Staff was very friendly and worked hard to solve issues. I really did not want to leave a negative review because the front desk staff treated me very professionally and genuinely tried to help solve the issues I experienced. When I first checked into my room, there was a very strong urine smell immediately upon entering. I notified the front desk, and without any hassle, I was moved to another room. Unfortunately, the second room also had a strong urine odor. Again, the employee was professional, apologetic, and worked hard to accommodate me by moving me to a room on the opposite side of the property. At first, I thought the issue had finally been resolved, but when I pulled back the curtains in the third room, I discovered what appeared to be a bed bug along with blood stains on the clean sheets. That completely changed the situation for me. I want to be clear that the front desk employee handled everything professionally and courteously throughout the experience, and this review is not directed at them personally. However, I do feel future guests should be aware, because bed bugs are a very serious issue that can easily be brought back home.

The King Suite was nice and spacious with plenty of closet and storage space for 2 adults. The fridge and microwave worked just fine (we didn’t use the coffee maker). There was a nice desk and chair that actually came in very handy while I was working on making a flower arrangement for my niece’s graduation. The sofa was comfortable enough to sleep on while my husband was snoring in the main bedroom, and I appreciated that I could close the bedroom door when needed. Also, I was so glad to find an extra blanket tucked away in the bottom drawer of the living room dresser. We could hear a dog barking while we were in the hallway opening our door, but we couldn’t hear any noise from outside once we were in the room with the door closed. We’ve stayed at much fancier and much more expensive hotels, but for the price of around $100 a night, this place was more than satisfactory! We’d consider staying here again if we needed to! The only issue we really had was the lack of an elevator. Also, having a light breakfast option would have been nice, but we knew when we booked that there was no breakfast provided. However, we didn’t realize there was not an elevator when we booked. Thankfully, there are only two floors, but I might have requested a first floor room had we known about the lack of elevator.

Twice I stayed, two years apart and it's showing its age. Seems clean but lacks in overall cleanliness. Beds need replacing, sheets weren't totally clean, pillows are uncomfortable and carpets need cleaning. There are way too many employee areas and lots to be remodeled. Staff is generally nice but they don't seem to appreciate being productive and parking in the covered area that's for unloading and loading for customers.

I am glad I was disabled, because I didn't see any mention of the elevator or lack there of, and he wasn't offering to help me get my bags upstairs. However, once I was in the room, it was very clean, spacious, with decent bedding and a comfortable mattress. I was also a little concerned about my vehicle, because there were several people hanging out in their cars in the parking lot, but nothing to report.

No one stays at Red Roof for high end luxury. This is about good value and a comfortable place to sleep. We came for a graduation at UTenn in Knoxville and this hotel fit the bill. The room is small but clean. The lobby is quiet and there is always a fresh pot of coffee on. The hotel is convenient to the highway and less than 20 minutes to downtown. We would stay there again.

YOU’LL never see me stay there again. No elevator!!! It smells so badly!! I can’t even describe the smell to you, at least not without making myself gag. As soon as you pull up to the property you'll see that there’s a huge chunk of the roof torn off, where a big rig must’ve hit the roof and ripped it off.. It’s sitting on the side by the front door you’ll see it when you walk-in if you don’t trip over it Everything was dirty. My room was dirty. My sheets were stained. My towels were stained . There was a junkie sitting on the grass acting like a zombie as you pulled into the property yelling a cars. then someone locked there dog in the car!! it was barking kept me awake almost all night eventually called the cops seeing the front desk didn’t care the 3 times i complained. This place was straight out of a horror flick. I will never go there again. One good thing I can say is the staff were nice!!!

We got this hotel because they had an indoor pool. But when I went to the pool it was very cold. Only the water coming out the jets was a little warm. The bathtub in the room had a crack in side and would not hold water. The bed was not as comfortable as the hotel we usually use. The price was a little more here and they don’t have breakfast and the other one does. They did have coffee all day, and the staff was nice, the room was clean but the card to the Microwave plug would click off and on and that made me worry about fire.

The hotel and rooms are very dated, and everything looks worn. There were many vehicles in the parking lot that appeared broken down or full of junk, and there were often people hanging around smoking. It’s also much farther from downtown Knoxville than I expected. The surrounding area only has other hotels, motels, and gas stations, so you have to travel to find food, shopping, and attractions.

Rooms are falling apart, chairs held together with duct tape, no longer serve breakfast, very disappointing. The hotel reeked of marijuana every night of our stay, all rooms are non-smoking… sheets and towels all had stains. I wiped up a small spill that my child made, and the washcloth turned black, so the floors were incredibly dirty as well.

The hot water was adequate The floor was not carpeted (vinyl?) The microwave was clean Negatives The room desperately needs to be painted, scuffs and marks on the walls, dirty looking The refrigerator popped and cracked all night, sounded like it wanted to blow up at any moment, maybe it was from the dings on the outside from past abuse? The hideaway sitting sofa bed was stained The suitcase holder looked rusted, old and dirty The shower curtain had ink stains or something on it The counter top in the bathroom was stained in a couple of places Last of all...the bed was hard as a rock, it felt like a box spring with a piece of plywood on top covered by a thin layer of a pillow top mattress...horrible I would not recommend this hotel or any Red Roof Inn unless they do some upgrading. We have stayed in two of them, thought we would try this one because the room looked nice and clean according to the pictures, never again will I stay at a Red Roof Inn

The room was very clean, they have stay over service which is nice. I gave only 4 stars because my wife and I only have one cell phone and the phone in our room wasn't working so we couldn't call out. They also won't ring your room for incoming calls so if one of us left the room we could not communicate with each other at all. That was extremely inconvenient. There were a couple minor inconveniences like the ice machine was broken for a few days and the coke machine's card reader wasn't functioning properly, both those weren't that serious for me.

The room was clean, but the sheets did have old stains. Noticed where the room hasn’t been cleaned behind the beds on a long time, there was stuff back there that could have been from when the room was first built. I worried about my vehicle due to the fact that other room holders were long timers and outside working on their cars and kids were running around. Also, breakfast is a big factor for us and this property wasn’t offering, not their fault, I booked the room rather quickly due to having a funeral in that city which was unexpected and didn’t do my homework. Staff was friendly, all in all it was a pleasant experience.

It was ok for the price. The hallways smelled bad (didn't know they were pet friendly) The room itself was hardwood floors and smelled fine. They also didn't have an elevator, so we had to carry our luggage up two sets of stairs. Area was convenient.

Upon arrival, we waited for 10 minutes for an employee to arrive to the front desk for check in. Once in the room, the floors were unswept, I would assume dog hair- covered the floors, beds, and furniture. The bed sheets were dirty or stained. There was long, black strands of hair covering the bathroom shower walls and sink area. I would not recommend this hotel and I will absolutely not be back.

The staff was really friendly however the hallways and room are severely dated. The hallways smell of weed and pee. There was either poop or dried menstrual blood on the toilet and don't get me started on the tub/shower.

  • Sheri May 2025 · via expedia
    3/5

Not good for extended stays or heavy luggage especially if you are put on the 2nd floor. Stairs are your only option and no assistance. The odor in the hallways on the 2nd floor reminded me of wet dog. I love my pets but my hotel should not smell like a kennel. The room was not so bad after running the ac and some air circulation. It’s an older property and it shows, but the room itself was pretty clean and comfortable.

The gentleman who checked me in was very nice . I'm not able to walk up stairs due to a disability and he made sure I got a room on the bottom floor. This is the second time I've stayed at this location and both times I've been very happy with my stay. I didn't use the pool this time but everything else was fine. I travel to Knoxville from time to time to visit my son at the college, and it's nice to know there's a place that I can rely on that's on the area. I will be back again for sure. Thank you.

The room was cleaner than the rest of the building, but overall cleanliness was poor. We needed clean towels and tried calling the front desk but no one would ever answer. Netflix did not work. The hallways smelled strongly of smoke. The location was convenient.

Hotel was okay for the price. The comforter had a cigarette burn on it, no hair dryer at least in our room, not enough towels for the number of guest when we arrived. However they are pet friendly which was great for us. It’s definitely not a hotel with bells and whistles but was good for a place to sleep.

The bed is like sleeping on plywood on noisy springs. The property is across from the highway and very noisy the noise heard through paper thin walls. Eventually, people go to sleep and the A/C, if run can drown out some of the highway noise but the bed is horrible and I got no sleep as a result of it. Would never stay at a Red Roof Inn again.

We love Red Roof's pet friendly policies. The room was clean and everything worked. The bedding was in good shape. The hall and rear stairways were pretty tired looking. BUT, there were cockroaches in the room (my husband killed them with his shoes), a lot of long hair on the bathroom floor and a short hair or two on the soap dispenser, cleanliness of sheets was questionable (blood stains?), bed was uncomfortable (it felt like a box spring was used, not a top mattress), pillows were either too flat or too thick and hard.

The bed frame in the first room was metal and broken. Anytime we sat or moved. It made loud noise. We requested a new room, which they graciously accommodated, but the two beds in that room also had noisy beds, although not as noisy as the first room. Also, the first room was not very clean.

Surprised there was not an elevator, because they allowed dogs there was certianly a strong odor. Also appeared to have some "permanent residents" there. Pool was not as warm as expected for being heated. The beds were very poor and pillows flat. We asked for additional pillows and were denied. Just poor because the location was perfect.

The entrance to the hotel had yellow caution tape all around the front, which was concerning along with the fact that the clerk was behind plexiglass. The room was very dark and dated. Furniture had the fake wood peeled off. Had to jiggle the cord to the nightstand to get the outlets to work (fire hazard). There were cobwebs above the bed, the sheets might have been clean but had stains. Dirty walls and you could tell where they had just spot patched and painted places. We were at the end of the hall next to an exit door so we heard the door slamming all night.

The employees were very welcoming.the room itself was adequately clean. The property itself needs renovation, new mattresses, and exterminating desperately. I hope the owner takes the time to consider renovations to this property. The mattress was comparable to sleeping on a box spring. I seen 1 roach hence my suggestion to exterminate on a regular basis. With a few little tweaks I’m sure your business would preform even better.
