Motel 6 Knoxville, TN - North

Traveled with my fiancé,and 18 year old daughter. We went to see a show in downtown Knoxville a 3 hour drive from where we live. Booked this hotle last minute online,because we didn't want to drive back home so late. When we got there the staff didn't speak English so it was hard to communicate he also tried to charge me a extra 10 dollars cause my reservation had two people instead of 3 which I didn't think that would matter due to it being a double bed hotel room. He gave us a room that was completely disgusting! Burn holes all over the bed cover, floor was nasty,mirror was nasty just the whole thing was horrible, and I've stayed in some 1 star hotels before nothing ever this bad, I would have slept in my car before laying on those beds! Even sleeping in the car wasn't an option because there were definitely some shady people in and out of the other hotel rooms....we drove home that night!

When I made my reservation I asked for a non-smoking room. The decal on the door indicated no smoking. We walked in and it reeked of cigarette smoke. We had our sweet dog with us. She kept sniffing the air.There was stains on my bedspread with a cigarette hole. Needed to go to the bathroom after a long last stretch to the motel. There wasn't enough toliet paper to wipe and no other roll to be found, so my husband got our kleenex from our car. When we checked out I let the front desk lady know of our disappointment and she didnt care. We were thinking this probably wasn't the first time she heard it. Her Customer Service needs re-training. She acted liked she doesn't like her job. We couldn't wait to leave this place. The place is a dump.

I booked here for my son graduation and called to inform I was running late but the staff didn’t understand English or something very well and told me I didn’t have a reservation and kept hanging up on me

We had to wait an hour after check in time for room to be ready. Location is sort of sketchy, A lot of homeless people walking around. No refrigerator in room. Rooms need updated and cleaned better. Yes it was cheap to stay there was only option due to being in the area for a concert.

Location Toilet seat was loose water spots on the door and the wall in between the toilet and the bathtub.

Room was dirty found condoms under bed and got charged my Expedia and by the motel. So I spent 150$ for 1 night unless Expedia will refund my charge.

Nothing really like I didn't even stay the night I left and was charged for not staying there. The room was dirty, and the linen was dirty and torn. It felt unsafe because the door didn't lock properly, and the safe wasn't very kind or helpful either.

We were there about 7 minutes in our room. We left. Wouldn't recommend at all.

Floor was very dirty and had a large depressed area where vinyl was cracked with some missing. Shower had no place to put shampoo/shower gel bottles while in shower. Shower floor was slippery and the area around drain wasn’t finished well. Needs at least one grab bar in shower. One mattress was good but the other was way too soft.

We were told our room was just remodeled. However, there were cigarettes holes in the comforters, the shower had black stuff in the grout and looked dirty. The floor was uneven and dirty also.

The sheets and blankets were full of cigarette burns and stains... we got a non-smoking room and it smelled terrible like smoke. There was trash all over outside of the room. The people outside were very rough.

The place was maybe the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever been in. The shower had a couple of used bars of soap in it, in addition to a wrapped one. It smelled like mildew. The toilet had obviously not been cleaned. The room reeked like cigarette smoke, and we didn’t even feel safe there (there were tons of people outside smoking, and it just seemed like a really rough area. For the first time in my life, we ended up leaving and going somewhere else. It was seriously the dirtiest, worst hotel room I have ever seen.

Possibly the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. Literal holes in the drywall, crumbling apart. Several big cigarette burn holes in all the sheets/blanket. The power outlet next to the window ac unit has clearly caught on fire before. It’s almost totally black. Found trash under the bed

That motel was the dirtiest place I have ever stayed! Was run down and the floor was sticky and probably hasn’t been washed since it was installed. We had to kill a few bugs, etc.

Stayed 3 nights. Room never got serviced. No where to hang towels in bathroom and no shelf for soap or shampoo. Also killed 3 cockroaches in the room.

The frost room that was smoke free smelled so bad that we had to change the room. The smoke smell was burning my husband’s throat. The next room had mold in the shower and when we went to get in the bed there was weed buds in-between the sheets.

The first issue was it wasn't cleaned. I had to call several times for dif issues. No pillow case. Hair in the tub and only noticed that because I saw a washrag on the shower sprayer and asked my brother who has down syndrome and that was with me if he used it. I didn't think so since he was fixing to take a shower and I was getting stuff ready for him but double checked and i looked down and black curly hair all in the tub. I cleaned the sink counter with wipes i keep because with a wipe of a wet cloth stuff came off. All other places were booked for Garth Brooks or I would of changed. I asked about a dif room after seeing tub (tey had warned me the 2nd flr rooms were better but I'm disabled and hard to go up and down steps) and they said just easier to clean tub. The guy just wiped it with towels. There might of been cleaner on it already. If I had an issue they cane right away thou and were very nice. The TV didn't work and the guy came again for that and fixed it. The room also had roaches which I have never in my almost 53 years had a motel that had roaches and I've pd a hell of a lot less then 168 for 2 nights. I will put up with a lot but not bugs!

This was just awful! DO NOT stay here!!! I repeat DO NOT stay here.Spend a little extra money for a nicer place you want regrets it but if you stay here you will regret it BIG TIME.There is roaches,holes in the wall,beds are awful to sleep in been there since motel was built,none of the electrics outlets work so couldn’t charger phone,smoke free room with cigs holes in cover,the heat didn’t work so we was cold all night,someone knocked on our door at midnight(We didn’t answer it),couldn’t sleep because of the noise,Check in was at 3pm. But didn’t get checked in until 3:30 cause rooms wasn’t ready.We just wanted a place to sleep after the Garth Brooks concert but this wasn’t the place to pick we will NEVER stay here again.Hotel needs to be closed down.I have never in my life stayed at a place so awful.i have photos but for some reason it want let me down load them

I’ll give the staff credit, the check in lady asked me to check the room before we checked in because it would take two days to refund the money. Not a good sign. The room was inexpensive so we overlooked the horrible smoke smell even though it was a “smoke free” room. The lady said it was hard for them to enforce it. And we were ok with the old conditions. But the cigarette ashes on the night stand and the fact that the only way to change the channel on the tv was to manually change it from the direct tv box located behind the tv was a little much. The room served its purpose during a Football weekend and was inexpensive. You get what you pay for.

There were roaches everywhere. The rooms were not clean. There was even a dirty soap bar in the shower. There were dogs barking in the rooms above us and beside us. We felt very unsafe and had to leave and spend more money for another room. It was the worst experience I've ever had traveling.

The facility needs a refresh but was a great value for the price. Need a place to crash when on a road trip? This your place.

They have bugs. The staff is very rude. They have broken walls and holes in all the blankets. Also the TV is crooked.

I requested a non smoking room. The room I got smelled horribly of cigarettes. I went to the front desk and the guy at the front desk with rotted teeth came to the room and sprayed air freshner which worked for 5 minutes. My wife wanted a blanket as there was none in the room. I was given a blanket with cigarette burns in it. The latch on the front door was busted and there was mold and filth in the bathroom and more cigarette burns on the toilet seat in this " nonsmoking room". Hopefully I can post pictures here as I took several. Sorry Expedia, you've lost my business.

So I stayed in Room 113 and I was literally ate up by bed bugs. I have attempted to contact the Owner several times and he will not call me back. Each time I call I am told he will call me back. DO NOT STAY HERE. NOT WORTH THE $60 THAT THEY REFUSE TO REFUND ME.

It was a dump. Mirror was duct-taped to the wall. A corner leg was missing on one of the beds. The tub tile surround had been pushed into the wall, leaving a large gap for water penetration .... WiFi was had insufficient bandwidth to load simple websites ... I won't go on.

Holes in the walls, Marker writing on the door, brown tape on the floorboard by the tub on one side, duct tape on the floorboard on the other side of the tub. Towels covered in stains, sheets and cover riddles with cigarette Burns and so nasty looking we went out and bought a few cheap blankets so we wouldn't use them. Bed crackled like we were laying on potato chip bags. The worst more motel 6 I've started in

Extremely nasty room. Sticky floor. Dirty filters. Cigarette burns on bedding. Dirty bathroom. I felt absolutely disgusted and traveling from connecticut that condition would have the state health inspector shut down the place. I left after only one-two hours. I couldn’t believe it. I needed to rest after a 12 hour road trip from the heat and I was so disappointed.

The women at the front desk was very nice but the motel itself was terrible. I walked up the steps to get to my room and dirty towels were at the top of the steps (they were still there the next day at 11am when I left). My sheets and covers were full of burn wholes, and I needed to wear sandals in the shower it was so nasty and the shower would back up with water. The room floor was very sticky, thank God I was only in need of the room for that night and really didn't spend that much time in it due to my plans as to the reason why I was in town, because I would have not been able to handle another night in that room, i would not recommend this motel even at the cheap rate you can at least clean up the room, basic housekeeping

The walkways and parking lot were pretty dirty and with small pieces of trash. The toilet was broken, though functional. The faucet in the bathtub was leaking, and the bathtub did not look very clean. The general condition of this property was not up to Motel 6 standards. I stay at Motel 6's almost always because they allow pets. We were not traveling with pets on this occasion, but I still try to patronize Motel 6's. So I have seen many of them around this country and Canada. While they are a budget chain, they are generally very clean and predictable. This one was not so nice.

Employees in maid and maintenance does not care to be professional people. The maintenance man is dressed like he been playing sports with the street people and dress like one. He doesn't care how he talk to renters coming in like he doesn't care to satisfied renters coming in with any problems they come to find the room in not complete for new clients to stay. Take time to check on the problem but does not care to fix it. The maid is not dressed in uniform and doesn't care to plug the phone she was told to bring to the room and just put the DRAINO in the tub to have the draining to be better. After waiting an hour and half for the help to bring me the towels that was not in the room when I enter on, I went to the office to ask to be transferred to another room or be refunded. The man on duty then told me that I only came there to have a shower. How could I do that after I reserve the room several days before. I took training years ago to be concern to customers

So let's start off by saying from the moment we checked me and my girlfriend had an odd feeling about the place after being told we couldn't have any guess come visit us and once we checked in and got to the room I understand why first step into the room it smelt like cleaner but the floor wasn't swept the mirror and crap all over it and when I called the front desk with my cell phone cuz there wasn't a phone in the room the lady at the front desk snap off when just come to the front desk and get your money and you can stay some where else when all I was asking was to be changed rooms or have someone clean it and they sent the building maintenance man to clean the room cool dude but all in all really wouldn't want to stay there ever again if I had the chose

Worst motel I’ve ever stayed at. The non-smoking room smelled like an ashtray. There are bugs in the bathroom. Cokes and stuff splattered on the walls. Moth holes in the sheet. Really Ronchi awful motel.

The room smelled of mold and mildew, and had visible water damage. The first night, the TV and toilet did not work. The second night the toilet worked, but leaked (clean) water all over the bathroom floor.

The workers were awesome very sweet even tho they had a lot of crappy ppl that were staying there making horrible messes they cleaned up and took care of business.. thank u guys

Aweful motel 6. Room was dirty, mold in bathroom, cobwebs all over the walls, shower falling apart. If we hadn’t driven for 13 hours and it was so late we would have try to find any place other than here.Worst place I have ever stayed!

Requested a non smoking room, however, it smelled like stale cigarette smoke. The bathroom was not very clean. Dirt and hair around toilet. I understand "you get what you pay for" however, it doesnt cost anymore to clean an expensive room than a less costly one.

An experience to avoid. With a late night arrival, l witness overflowed trash cans, guest setting on the steps for a better Wi-Fi signal as approaching the 2nd floor. Assigned Non smoking room over ripe with smoke scents, cigarette burns on bed stained blankets and patched up bathroom shower. After not able to get another room since they were full and major complaining plus tired after a 10 hour drive, the next day I received a refund.

By far the WORST hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The sheets and pillows were stained. There was no smoke detector in the room. The entire room smelled like cigarette smoke. The lady at check in said the dead bolt on the door will fall out. The heater didn’t work. The walls had holes in them the shower was disgusting!

I booked this room for a homeless lady who was staying there. And agency paid for a week. Plus my 1 day should've Been 8 days.. only gave get creadir for 7.

I get that this chain gets the leftovers of bigger hotels but this place was ridiculous. The plastic tub had some sort of crack the was covered up with pieces of rubber mat. It was disgusting. Did not even shower. The toilet was either dirty or stained at the bottom. The linens were most definitely stained. The pillows were burnt, it may kill lice and other critters but it was gross. The room was a no smoking room but it had been used for years for smoking and the last guest most definitely smoked. Took over a week to get the stink out of my rain coat. The room was gross. Take this hotel off your list PLEASE!

they did not provide shampoo or conditioner. When we got in the room looked all around just to see pubic hair in the bathtub which is very gross and we did not get in till 10;00 that night so they had plenty of time to clean it. no bags to throw your dirty clothes in. Very dissappointed and probably will not stay here unless i am desperate.

Cheap so that was a plus and the employees were nice but it’s definitely an old motel and needs updating, smelled horrible and there was no way I was gonna shower in there:/ and beds were hard as rocks.. seemed like a lot of locals possibly even lived there, many looked like possible drug addicts.. definitely won’t stay there again.

Children’s hospital next morning, lady at the desk was very nice. Room was clean, nice for the price. Did not like being on second floor, close to road so heard vehicles all night long. Did not rest well.

I’m sure that you get what paid for , but this time you exaggerated . I had to leave one hour later I felt very unsafe .

There was not the usual fridge/ possible microwave, and the smoke detector was a steam detectorthat had to be disconnected, But, Considering the price of the room it was a far better than I have paid much more for!

Though the staff tries exceptionally hard, the facilities are less than desirable. Phones don't work, faucets leak, no microwaves in rooms, cockroaches in rooms, doors jam, and floors are exceptionally slippery. As a disabled veteran this is not the place to go if you have any choice.

Dirty room, smelled like pot, neighbors were out of control, but staff was exceptional and they accommodated our pets as we were moving across the country.

The room was extremely clean !I had a very good stay and the service was outstanding! I left rather early(5am) and the lady at the front desk made me a fresh coffee just for the road!

The front desk agent was very accommodating when I arrived and advised there was no reservation showing in their system. The actual room was extremely outdated, could have been cleaner and lacked a feeling of security.

Im not gonna stay in Motel 6 ever again. Security by front desk is not discrete. She told another guest that it is not his room because that is my room. Non-smoking still smells like smoke inside. Can't sleep. I was scared somebody can just enter my room.

bed squeaked everytime you moved, toilet seat wasn’t on right so it moved.

Poor furnishings. End table was rotted out on bottom. Lighting too poor for us to read. Room was nice size but mattress needs replacing. Towels were poor quality and stained.

Wish there had been a small refrigerator in the room. The man next to us had his truck broken into and his stereo stolen. We went to bed early because we had to leave a three in the morning to drive twelve hours home. Located close to fast food places. We could have used a bigger bed!

This is where I come when I need a break from home. Stay here a month back in April and when I booked for my first week back here again I was pleasantly surprised with the incentive of a small break in the rate for pain for a week. It's under new owners and management so there's a little bit of a transition going on but definitely improving which I didn't think was even necessary.. definitely the better I have tell and price for this area carrying the staff are awesome as well. I'm happy. In fact I don't want to leave.

If I could have a do over I never would have stayed here. The location was okay, but the hotel itself felt very sketchy. I was worried about my car while sleeping. This is a motel that has long term residents which I would have liked to have known. The bed was uncomfortable, the room was old and rundown, and the outside was rough looking. The worst part was seeing a cockroach crawling on the wall. You know the stay is going to be bad when the front desk clerk tells you "the rooms are non-smoking, but if it smells overwhelmingly of cigarette smoke just come right back and I will try to find you a new room". Just please choose a different hotel. This one is not worth even a penny!

Upon entry to room, obviously the previous maid service allow door to remain open while cleaning prior to my day because the room had not only living flying flies and other pests but many dead ones laying around.... oddly room doesn't provide complementary hair products.... But worst of all the price of the room at check-in was considerably more than you told me it would be.... I very likely will not be using this motel service again

This was the second Motel 6 on my trip that was disgusting so the review will be about the same. I stay at inexpensive hotels to just crash for the night, so my standards are not exactly high. But this place was truly terrible. The room stunk strongly of tobacco smoke. The desk employee said she couldn't help it if people ignored the no smoking signs. Other hotels have a steep fine on a held credit card if there is smoking to pay for the cleaning. This place did not bother to clean. Half a can of Febreeze barely made a dent. There appeared to be many people living there longterm and leaving lots of mess out front of their rooms. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

It was ok for one night stay, but I would not stay multiple nights

The hotel is close to many restaurants with a wide range of settings, from sit down steak dinners to drive thru to buffet style. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms are comfortable for a simple place to stay overnight and watch tv until you fall asleep. No refrigerators or microwaves but not intended for a long stay. They have HBO too.

The room was clean, the staff was nice, but you could see some wear and tear on the balcony (daylight shown through the bottom)

Typical Motel 6 room. Clean, quiet - a bed and a bathroom.

We liked it, didn't have carpet,a frig or microwave in room,we basically needed a cheap place to sleep after a late concert that was near the arena.Was clean and comfortable.

The staff were very friendly. My door wouldn't close all the way, so I had to use the metal lock, but there was still a crack. I was right along the highway so it was very loud with the crack. There was mold on my shower curtain and my towels had brown streaks all over them.

Don’t stay here if you are a nonsmoker!!Our room reeked of smoke. We requested a nonsmoking room and thought they had made a mistake.. we were told by the hostess that all the rooms were non smoking but guest smoked in them anyway so they all smelled like smoke. She offered to spray some air freshener but didn’t come and do that.

I spent the night here as a solo. The people at the front desk were great and welcoming. The room was clean and fresh. Overall, great hotel for an affordable price. Will definitely stay here again.

Cheap or not we will not stay there again, and I will not recommend this motel 6 to anyone. Also since we stayed 2 nights we asked no one go on...THEY DID ANYWAY. They went in after we told them not to go in, they emptied the trashes, but did not make the beds or give clean linen. ?????? Why would you go in after you were told not to , then change the trash, but not the sheets or give fresh towels. WE WILL NOT GO THERE AGAIN

The staff is rude and wants everyone staying to show identification for no reason other than to violet your rights by allowing the local police search the guest registry which is a bit warrantless search. But here's the bottom line if they need a rule like this then its a bad place to c stay

I was kind of hesitant after reading the reviews. Rebecca at the front desk was very friendly. The room had been redone and nice. It was quiet outside and had no problems. Would stay ahain.

Where to begin..desk staff was rude and went as far as using profanity when speaking to my companion. There's very little water pressure however that was okay because I wasnt able to take a shower due to lack of towels
