Crowne Plaza Knoxville Downtown University by IHG

The location was good, easily walkable to the main downtown streets for dinners etc. the room was clean and a normal hotel room. It’s a big hotel and did not seem like a crowded weekend so I was surprised that our room had a not so great view of the back gravel area. There is also a bit of a sewer smell in the lobby and the plumbing seems to be a little issue. Everything else was great.

I love this hotel we always stay here. It’s beautiful and well maintained. But, it cost $35 for valet parking on this visit, it was free with tipping to the guys who parked or brought your car around. We have stayed at this hotel for close to 10 years and this was the first time with the valet charge. I don’t mind a charge but that is way too expensive.

Location good, Room clean. Road noice all night, No soundproofing at all could hear people talking everywhere gaps under doors so sound could travel. Could hear constant noice from above also and all sides this Hotel should not be available to rent.

Given the location just blocks away from a not so pretty area I understand the need for garage parking. There was a sence of comfort and security. If a parking fee of $25 is charged that should be explained from the start. For the receptionist to say that the parking fee will drop off once you exit the parking garage and drop the key in the box and customer service to say otherwise is angering and deceptive.

I loved the breakfast options The parking garage exit was a little tricky. You need a key card to exit and i left mine in my room at checkout. I had to re-park and go inside to get a new key card. Not the end of the world but a little awkward to exit the parking garage. Just be prepared if you have a car.

This is one of our favorite hotels and it’s directly downtown Knoxville. Staff is super professional and the gym is very well equipped. Room prices are very reasonable.

Fair price overall. Fair price on on-premises parking garage. (Think was $25 night?) Only charged for 1 vehicle when we had 2 vehicles to move our daughter out of UTK dorm. Could leave vehicle there until 3pm until new charge would kick in. So made it easy for us to walk to the square nearby to eat lunch without worry. Wasn't FREE! ; )

The host and staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional and they might have the best fitness gym located inside a hotel. Very pleased with our stay.

This was one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The staff were helpful, the restaurant was excellent, and the location was fabulous. Definitely staying here again.

Yes the breakfast was good. Staff were all excellent. The $700 cost was steep but we got to see our grand daughter graduate. O yeah, the bartender was good even at 11 o’clock Friday night.

This was the third time staying at Crowne Plaza and like the other two it was enjoyable. Breakfast was great, the staff was alway available for any assistance needed and the bar tender made a nice strong drink to finish the day.

No bathtubs and no vent fan in the bathrooms. Refrigerator so small we couldn’t even fit 2 styrofoam take out boxes in it. No laundry facility on site to wash my daughter’s uniform so had to go 4 miles down the road and sit at a laundry mat. The absolute worst part of the stay was the paper thin walls. I literally could hear my neighbors entire conversation using their regular voice. Location is okay and beds are mediocre. Unfortunately, for the price and lack of amenities , not a good value…:will not be staying here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Crowne Plaza. The staff were most attentive. Thank you to Natalie for getting us the room requested, to Dimitra for pleasantly checking us in, to Holden for welcoming us and booking our taxi, and to Ron who each day greeted us with a smile and wished us a good day. Additionally, the room was most comfortable; housekeeping kept it very clean. I would recommend this hotel to others.

Dee checked us in and was very informative and friendly. Parking is 25.00 per night. The lot was clean and well-lit. I felt safe.

Clean room, friendly valet. Lower level parking does not have an elevator to the lobby so bring your luggage in and leave at the front desk while you park in overflow parking.

The staff was amazing! Tony in the bar was great! Made me drinks until I couldn’t walk to my room. The only negative things or issue I would say is they don’t have a complimentary breakfast and for $300 a night- they should feed you breakfast. Also, they wouldn’t valet our truck which is ridiculous

Pretty old, very basic amenities, smelled old.

I also had to add a day and my rate was more. I had a death in the family and had to push my visit two days, I felt they should have honored the rate I had under the circumstances. Pretty hotel and the restaurant waitress was wonderful!

Staff was very courteous. Room walls are extremely thin and was able to hear TVs from next room and voices clearly from hall. Rooms overlooking Main Street were unfortunately subject to multiple fire truck sirens throughout the night very clearly heard. Location is great for downtown however.

Front desk hospitality was great!

A sports event was staying on our floor. It was loud!!! I could also hear cars racing outside the windows. The heat/cooling device was blowing air in your face if you slept on the bed near it. The device looked caked in dust and mold. Needs to be cleaned more often.

The room was in fair condition. There are clearly some items that need attention - cracks in the shower wall, etc. The staff was wonderful. Unfortunately, there were guests next door who were frequently intoxicated and therefore quite loud. The staff even had to take care of them one night.

Loved the hotel! Staff very friendly. The location is the best! Garage parking is too high. The pool water was not warm and the pool room was freezing so when ypu get put of the pool its very cold. The gym was great. Great pet friendly place! Would stay again we just hate paying for high parking!

Room dirty, found a pair of dirty panties called the office. It was obvious the whole side of the room was not cleaned. They picked up the panties and left did not clean the room. Passport cameras found in bathroom. Cannot get Managment to return phone calls to discuss.

The Hotel is in a great location! Walkable to Market square and World's fair. The Indoor heated pool is really not warm enough. No jacuzzi as well. Hayden at the reception desk was really nice and accomodating. Ms. Kat was awesome with us and the girls during our breakfast. She is a Star employee!

Our room was an accessible room as that was all that was left for that (event) weekend. We were surprised because other than grab bars at the toilet and shower, & a peep hole on the door placed at waist-height, I don't think the room wasn't large enough to accomodate a wheelchair or walker! It was small. We stayed on the same floor previously and our room, which I thought was accessible too but I guess wasn't, was much larger. And updated! The room was outdated and in need of some repairs particularly in the bathroom. There was an ever-present fly in the bathroom as well. We had to call for towels, to get a suitcase rack, to have someone repair the ill-working safe, etc. We were on the Summit Hill side and it was LOUD. They do say, posted in the room, you can request ear plugs and a noise machine. It's within walking distance to almost any downtown attraction and restaurant. The staff in the restaurant are hands down, THE nicest.

The property was very clean and modern. The gym was the best gym I’ve ever seen in a hotel, complete with free weights, countless machines, and plenty of cardio options. The staff were extremely helpful, especially Natalie who assisted us when we had to leave our stay early due to a family emergency. The hotel is very convenient to downtown and about 1/10 of a mile from Market Square. We will definitely stay again!!

We had a great 3 night stay. We were in town for a football game so it was pretty busy but never seemed loud or crowded. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable - plenty of room for the two of us. The location is great for food, drinks & shopping. It’s a bit of a walk to the stadium but totally doable. We would definitely stay here again.

This place is the best location downtown. It was clean and the room was standard. Check in ok, but didn't give info about ice, restaurant pool etc. Had to call about it later bc it wasn't in room either. Pool was substandard for the expected quality of this place.

The hotel is very nice overall. There was a lot of construction surrounding the hotel, but the room was still quiet. This hotel does charge a deposit of $100 per night even though it isn’t mentioned on hotels.com. Definitely something I wish I would have known ahead of time so I could have factored that into my travel funds. Other than that, it was a great stay!

The hotel was beautiful. You can't beat the location right next to Market Square. the staff was all friendly and helpful.

The hotel was excellent. It was close to Broadway. The problem with Nashville is the added taxes and destination fees, plus the requirement to sign up with IHG to get in an hour early on a Tuesday. Also, a bottle of beer is $9 on Broadway, and don't take a cab; they will rip you off. Negotiate a price first or take an Uber.

Except for navigating our way out of the parking garage, the entire stay was WONDERFUL! Everything there was so clean and luxurious. The staff were all accommodating, knowledgeable and courteous. The bed was great, but the pillows were the most comfortable I've ever slept on!

We like the location of this property – it is close to the pedestrian zone downtown area, and close to interstates and major roads. The beds are comfortable, and the room has more storage than many other hotels.

We loved our stay and Philip was so wonderful at check in. Had a small problem and he took care of it quickly and was so very nice!!!

The staff were great. Everything was clean. Loved the proximity to Market Square. The only issue was the tiny bathroom in which water went all over everything all the time. No matter how careful you tried to be, everything around the sink got soaked. The only way to enter the shower was from the back. So turning on the shower blasted you with cold water, which always soaked the floor as well.

It started off well, but then only one elevator was working in the building. The hallways were hot. The food in the restaurant was disgusting for my entire family. Everyone said that their food was room temperature and uncooked. There were no instructions on how to leave the parking garage without a door key or token in advance

We had a great stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The Hotel is conveniently located downtown and within walking distance of many downtown amenities. The room was clean and the facilities in good condition. We had a comfortable stay. On the exterior, adjacent construction is occurring which made egress from the parking structure a little challenging, but this is not the fault of the hotel. We also enjoyed the gym facilities on-site.

The hotel was in excellent condition and our room was very comfortable. The staff was excellent and made sure to meet all our needs. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant and we’re extremely pleased with the breakfast buffet. Keith was especially friendly but very professional. We enjoyed a nice visit with him

This is a wonderful hotel. The room was designed with comfort in mind. It was quiet and the bed and pillows were so comfortable and clean. The bathroom was small but immaculate. The towels were perfect, soft and good size. Check in was quick and the staff was welcoming. I wish we could have stayed longer.

I traveled from New Orleans, Louisiana, and visited this place on 6/12/25-6/14/25 for my graduation of South College. It was very clean, everyone was friendly, it felt like just like home. There is also a lot of convenient places such as food, gas, groceries.

Stay was nice. Close to downtown area. Only complaint is the noise of uncaring people in the hallway at 2:30 in the morning

Only complaint- our room faced front road. Very noisy esp for a Wed night. We even had a sound machine on but cars/motorcycles w loud mufflers constant between 10:30-midnight. Guessing later on weekends

Staying at the Crown Plaza is always a positive experience. Customer service is always very good. Overall, this hotel is beginning to feel a little bit tired with dated workout areas, and room bathrooms. That said, they are perfectly acceptable. My only strong criticism is that there are a lot of large dogs allowed in the hotel. Even though the rooms appear clean, is still kind of grosses me out to think I could be staying in a room where dogs were running free before I arrived.

Great hotel for a solid price. An older property but very well maintained and managed. The rooms were carpet free (thankfully), beds were comfortable and the towels and wash clothes were high quality, thick cotton. They also offer room service which is appreciated and parking is a respectable $15.00 a night. A housekeeper also came to the room every day to refresh the linens and towels. I stay will be staying here every time I am in town for business.

The hotel room was not what I expected based upon what was presented online. The rooms appeared to be much larger than what they actually were. Vinyl plank flooring instead of carpet. The bathroom was tiny (we usually hang our towels to use them again, but there was literally no place to hang more than one towel). The parking garage was horrible (thank goodness I had a smaller vehicle to make the sharp turns and tight spaces). It had one of the older wall unit air conditioners that barely kept the room cool. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Unique property. Very nice hotel for the price. Restaurant was convenient and good. Really liked room layout and comfort. I found tv options/cable to be lacking. Also, did not like how shower was setup. I had to stand right in front of it to turn on and it was set at hardest setting, blasting me right in the face. Also, toilet seat was wet when I used it first time. Told myself it was from cleaning, but not sure. Had to shower just in case because that’s gross.

My tire rim got damaged from their parking lot and the construction next o them is awful. Definitely not coming back to stay there again. Too many homeless in the town near the hotel. Don’t feel comfortable walking around. Mgr Philip rejected to helped with my damage rim from their property

Everything about my recent stay at the Crown Plaza in downtown Knoxville was excellent! The lobby of the hotel is beautiful and checking in was simple. The room was spotless and offered a beautiful view of the city. Parking was convenient. The stay was perfect!

I had to pay $15 for parking and I almost tore my van up in the small parking garage it’s very tight.
