1. hair in the sink 2. balled up, filthy washcloths shoved into the AC unit 3. stains all over the walls 4. putrid cigarette smell 5. holes in the bathroom door 6. a live-in neighbor who banged on the wall and screamed the second I got in the room 7. a stinkbug infestation in the curtains and under the bedskirt 8. drunk live-in neighbors who chain-smoked I just left at 11:45pm and got another place. This place should be condemned.

Nothing There were bugs, the Internet did not work, it smelled like nicotine the whole night, it was dirty, the ceiling had a big crack going down the middle with wallboard exposed.

OLD PICTURES. Very unclean and smelly would never stay here again and do not recommend. The pictures must have been taken a long time ago it’s very run down there were stains on everything walls furniture curtains it was bad .

The photos of the property were incongruous with the reality of the room. The damage and lack of upkeep in the room strongly affected my negative impression of the overall property. Though the location is perfect for access into harpers ferry and c&o trail, and the view outside the room is awesome, the smell in the room and overall lack of attention makes the experience not worth the price I paid. Also, clearly, Internet has not been available for some time at the property.

The room was clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. The staff was polite and helpful.

Ok so the heat worked well and everything else was below par. It had been raining and it would have been nice if they had a mat outside our door. We tracked water in with ever bag we brought in. I guess what skived me the most was they didn’t have a flat sheet. So you slept in a bed with a blanket that clearly wasn’t cleaned after ever guest. The curtains didn’t close all the way. No ice on the property. They told us we could go to the liquor store but we didn’t need a big bag of ice. The property was not kept up. The driveway has weeds growing every where. The building could have used a power wash most everything was green. I can go on but what’s the point. Wouldn’t stay here again if you paid me.

Very scary room with stains and splats on walls, dirty doors and doorframes. You can see that no one cares about the upkeep of this place. No flat sheets so you gotta go under poop color blanket I doubt anyone washes. Flimsy lock, no hair conditioner, furniture from 70s, I could hear the neighbor snore the whole night, I’m sure he heard me too. Cleanliness and sanitation

In the morning when I went to eat (a very disgusting breakfast) I was made to wait 15 minutes for someone to open the door. When I returned home I called to complain about the price and additional aggravation of the door I was given a 10% refund. THE PRICE WAS THE SAME AS I HAD BEEN TOLD WHEN I CHECKED IN. APPARENTLY, THEY DIDNT THINK ME SPENDING AN EXTRA HALF HOUR AT THE FRONT DESK WAS WORTH ANYTHING! DO NOT STAY HERE.

When I checked in the attendant asked me to look at the room to see if it was OK. Bad sign .. the ceiling had mold that was sprayed over it. When I turned the heater on a borderline infestation of stink bugs came out from the curtains. The was also stained and worn furniture and the beds were hard as hell.

The manager and his wife told us as soon as he saw us that they are sold out.. there's no room available even though we made a reservation 4 days before checking in When he finally showed us the room. It looks like a motel room not a hotel. We ended leaving because we couldn't sleep there

This was such a restful and calming place to stay. The quiet atmosphere made it easy to unwind instantly. I loved coming back to my room after a long day just to relax. The service was smooth and efficient. The staff treated me with kindness and professionalism. Management clearly prioritizes creating a peaceful environment. Everything felt organized and well maintained. It was an overall wonderful experience

Close to every thing we wanted to do in the area.

The room had a terrible smell and we found visible mold on the ceiling. We could not stay there because I have mold illness.

I stayed here for a night and had no complaints. The room was neat and smelled clean. The bed was comfortable enough for a good sleep. Hot water worked perfectly in the shower. The heater was a nice bonus. The motel was quiet throughout the night. Parking was easy and close by. Staff were friendly and approachable. Overall, a smooth and pleasant stay

The bed was surprisingly comfortable after a long day. Parking was easy and right near the room. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. I left feeling refreshed and satisfied with my stay

I liked how calm and quiet this motel felt. The room was clean and nicely set up. The bed was comfortable and didn’t feel old or worn. Hot water was consistent, which I always appreciate. The heater worked well and made the space cozy. Staff were friendly and respectful. Overall, it felt like a good place to unwind

Stopped here overnight and it was a good choice. The room was clean and welcoming. The bed was comfortable and supported well. The heater worked great, especially on a cold night. Staff were helpful and checked us in quickly. Parking was easy and right by the room
- 5/5
This motel offered a comfortable and stress-free stay. The room was clean, quiet, and welcoming. The bathroom was well maintained and spotless. Hot water was always available when needed. The heater kept the room warm and cozy. Everything worked smoothly without any issues. I’d recommend it to friends looking for a comfortable stay.
- 5/5
I stayed here for a night and honestly slept so well. The bed was super comfortable and felt fresh and clean. The motel itself looks modern and well taken care of. Everything in the room worked perfectly, which I really appreciated. The staff was friendly and helpful from check-in to checkout. It felt like a relaxing and easy stay overall.
- 5/5
I wasn’t expecting much, but this motel impressed me. The room was bigger than I thought and very clean. The bed was comfortable and I slept through the night. The bathroom was well kept and smelled fresh. Hot water worked perfectly for a long shower. Parking was easy to find and convenient. The staff was helpful and friendly. I’d happily come back here.

I stayed here while traveling and had no issues at all. The room was clean and organized. The bed was comfortable and the environment was peaceful. Staff made the experience smooth. Overall, a pleasant stop
- 5/5
A surprisingly charming motel! The staff was warm and welcoming from the moment I arrived. Parking was convenient, and my room had everything I needed. The hot shower and toasty heater made for a relaxing night

I wasn`t expecting much but this place surprised me in a good way the room was spacious and very clean the bed was comfortable and i slept really well parking was easy and convenient it felt simple relaxed and stress free
- 1/5
Room was filthy walls had holes in them ceailing was stained red looked like blood the floors was sticky the heat barley worked room never got warm
- 1/5
Staff had to use Google translate to understand I wanted an iron(that I had called about ahead & was assured would be in the room). The water was hot but that's about the best thing about the room. There were no hangers, walls with patches of white paint over repairs, the top sheet was tucked in with the bottom sheet, the nightstand had cobwebs & an empty soda can behind it, no cups for the coffee pot, the WiFi didn't work, and the walls were so thin that I could hear the couple in the next door talking in a normal voice, and could almost make out what they were saying. The TV did work. The room had a refrigerator that froze my salad, and a microwave that needed cleaning, but did work. I don't think this facility is up to a level that it should be listed on Expedia.
- 5/5
Room smells so good! Very clean, quaint, and a delicious, and authentic Mexican Restaurant is across the street.
- 1/5
Very unclean room. Unknown splatters all over the walls. Found a used condom behind the dresser.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our time there
- 3/5
Clean comfortable room with no frills. 5 miles from Harper's ferry. Can't beat it for $75/night!
- 3/5
Frig, microwave in room, many channels on tv. Bathroom clean, bed fine. Minutes from Potomac and Shenandoah rivers plus parks. Would not recommend to families too small, nothing to do, no food options nearby. Room met my needs, but edges were dirty, damage to wall, bathroom door had a cardboard patch, cracks, walls and ceiling had stains. Outlet cover missing. Its a shame since some fairly simple repairs would do so much for the place. Huge pothole as enter parking lot, but can be avoided. Liquor store next door. If you're looking for a place to stay while hiking, enjoying the area its very convenient but there's a reason why the price is so cheap. Did not have bugs as others reported.
- 1/5
Please pick a different place to stay
- 1/5
The room was so bad that i didn't want to lay on the bed and just checked out. Went to another hotel and slept like a baby
- 1/5
When we contacted management to request a refund, they refused to take responsibility for the condition of the room and denied the request, despite the fact that we couldn’t even stay there due to how unclean it was. This was an incredibly disappointing experience, and the lack of accountability from the hotel made it even worse. Save yourself the stress and stay somewhere else.
- 5/5
Was exactly what I needed for a solo bday trip to the area. Minimal, friendly, clean. Didn’t mind that it’s obvious the place has been there a while. The parking lot has a huge pothole, which isn’t great. Just drive around it and be grateful for the great price and nature at your doorstep.
- 1/5
I did not like it at all. Checked out at 8am and did not stay the second night. Nothing was accessible and the property did not have wifi. The entire listing is a misrepresentation.
- 3/5
The view was spectacular and I was fortunate enough to hear (not seeing) a fireworks event that echoed through the mountains!
- 5/5
The room the electric did not work in the bathroom or one wall of the room. I told the owner and he came and looked and said I will fix it. He played around and the electric for the air went out, then the tv electric went out. He never fixed it
- 1/5
Sadly, I think this facility should be avoided. It was very dirty and, frankly a bit scary.
- 2/5
Rooms very old...Poor maintenance. Broken furniture & bathroom fittings. No internet.
- 1/5
Room smelt like mold, had bugs, bed uncomfortable, AC kind worked, very out dated
- 4/5
Nice location within 10 minutes of Harper's Ferry. Gas station store in front and beverage store next door were an added convenience.
- 1/5
Dead bugs. Blood on bathroom wall. Hair in bed. Vile.
- 2/5
shower did not work, neighbors where loud and kept us up all night, great staff.
- 1/5
Stuff was not friendly. No wifi
- 1/5
First, our fault for not reading all the reviews. Only saving grace is the liquor store steps away so you can drink yourself to sleep. However, this place is an absolute dump. I don't think the rooms, besides changing our bedding, are ever done. The floors are sticky, walls are moldy in the bathrooms, and the outlets are a fire hazard. I don't know who was using the lamp shades and curtains as napkins, but it is gross. Have some self respect and at least clean. This is a convenient location, and it could be cute if a little effort was taken. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Sleep in your car before here.
- 2/5
The room wasn't very clean. There were mouse droppings on the floor. Only a very thin blanket was provided. The room was freezing even with the heat cranked up to high. Honestly overpriced. My partner and I would have gone elsewhere, but no place else was available
- 1/5
Was given a room that was super dirty had blood everywhere hair and bodily fluids. Asked for a different room and it was worse there was bloody razors in the shower blood on the curtain open soaps hole in the floor. Definitely would not recommend. Trying to get a refund.
- 3/5
Very nice and friendly staff, very accommodating but the bathroom was never cleaned after previous guest left. I found hairs on the blanket. Microwave was broken.
- 3/5
Check in simple. No hastle, quick & easy. Was able to pay cash. Room wasn’t cleanest at all, outdated but did have clean towels.
- 1/5
This used to be a cozy Adventure Base, with a diner and a liquor store nearby. Checking in, had to call a cell phone, a guy off-property came. I tried to cancel my pre-paid Rez but he claimed Expedia demanded he charge me. Id been on the Appalachian Trail for 4 days so I thought I could handle it.. Got to room, I've seen worse, but started shower and couldn't get hot water, neither could see aff. I'm the only guest, and that includes the staff, I'm sure they weren't thinking of firing the expensive boilers for me. It was clear they had no hot water capabilities. Staff kept offering to switch rooms but even in other rooms, they'd have to actually get hot water going to the property. This motel exists as an Expedia scam. If you make Rez, it gets charged and they claim they are powerless to cancel. Ended up taking a taxi to another hotel.
- 1/5
The shape of the room looks so weird. The bathroom toilet is very small. It looks like it made for young kids. It’s not look very comfortable. I switch to another room and found out it was not clean. No housekeeping clean that room except the bed was made. I was so unsure if they changed it or not.
- 1/5
Pictures on their website or yours via your link to whatever are either very old or somewhere else. They show a nice breakfast hall and really nice rooms. Nothing in the photos exist. I stayed somewhere else and just forfeited the money.
- 1/5
The room was dirty. Piss and private hair all over toilet. Used soap in shower. Blood stain on wall in bathroom. Refrigerator didn't work ac hardly worked . There was weed shaking in every drawer of the dresser. Spider webs .just gross. Sketchy place. Don't go here.
- 1/5
We payed for the room on the app. However after checking into the room we left. Went down the street and purchased another room. I have stayed in horrible places before but this beats anything i have ever seen.
- 1/5
Don't. Just don't
- 2/5
Very run down. No blanket or bedsheet. Chain on door broken. Hole in the wall. Toilet ran all night.
- 2/5
Took a chance on this place based off some of the recent good reviews and its proximity to Harper’s Ferry. The owners friends and family must have wrote the good reviews because this place is a dump. First off, I had to wait for well over 15 minutes for someone to come check me in, and he only came after I called the hotel. The door to our room barely closed, and didn’t have the safety lock so I wedged the chair against the door as a precaution. There was shampoo bottles left in the shower from the previous guest along with trash in the can and grime and hair in the sink. I made my son sleep on a pillow and blanket from the car because I was seriously questioning the cleanliness. If we had not already paid and absolutely exhausted, we would have left.
- 1/5
we booked 1 night before camping for a few days. We stayed exactly 7 seconds in the room that was covered in mold and maybe the biggest spider this earth has to offer. We did not argue with the front desk. We calmlyi dropped the key and drove 90 minutes to the next available lodging in our price range. I am unsure how a room like that can be offered at all to the public. I enjoy roughing it from time to time but I don’t try and acquire diseases while on vacation.
- 2/5
Didn't expect more than we got Easy access to Harpers Ferry Cable TV and wi-fi worked
- 1/5
Had to wait ten minutes for him to come check us in. Ask for drivers license took copy then spent another 10 minutes looking up something while still looking at my drivers license. Got key get to the room door ajar. Room smelled sheets had been slept in. This place appeared to be being used as rental for for permanent residence. Needless to say we did not stay. Would not recommend this to anyone.
- 1/5
This place is absolutely HORRIBLE. DONT NOT GO!! The worst place I have ever been to in my life!!! Rude front desk, complete disaster of a room and no running water!!! I have all the pictures to show as well. I wouldn't recommend to anybody at any time!!! Ran down, druggy vibe hotel!!! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!
- 1/5
Do not stay at this hotel! It is filthy and smells terribly musty. The blanket on the bed had cigarette burn holes, the outlet covers were cracked and unsafe looking. The towels were all damp and there was a tiny bit of toilet paper with no refills. Visible dirt everywhere, not updated whatsoever. We had luck with other low cost motels along the route, but will never roll the dice on a low cost motel again thanks to this place.
- 3/5
You get what you pay for. The check-in was fine, the room had a terrible odor. The heater/air conditioner was very noisy and missing vent pieces. Overall it was a very cheap place to stay, I didn’t have any big issues.
- 2/5
The room itself was somewhat clean, quiet and comfortable. But the hotel was rundown, looked like the grass hasn’t been cut for months and there was no breakfast room, they lied about that on their website. They were using the previous owners webpage, the knights inn, pictures. It’s not what it looked like when we got there. The towels had stains and the sink faucet wasn’t bolted down. You had to hold down the faucet just to turn it on. No pride in ownership. We will never stay there again.
- 4/5
Nice property for the price. The roof top bar is really cool and there are good views of the bay and ocean from the pool
- 4/5
Hillside is convenient to Harper's Ferry and inexpensive.. A little beat up but clean and safe.. If you are looking for a no frills place to sleep and a hot shower after a long day at Harper's Ferry it's perfect..
- 1/5
Probably dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in
- 1/5
Hotel room had bugs, a strong odor of mildew and the shower was cold. The conditions were so poor that we left a day before required and went to another hotel.
- 1/5
This place is a nightmare irrespective of the price you pay. Highly unsafe and smoky sooty smelly rooms
- 1/5
We did not stay - we found a new hotel after discovering the bed to be sticky.
- 2/5
Run down - needs lots of TLC and deep cleaning.
- 4/5
We used the Hillside before and after taking the MARC train from Brunswick, MD, to Washington, DC, for a few days. It was also our base for exploring Harpers Ferry. It is a simple, clean, and convenient property. Check-in was quick. The A/C was quiet and efficient. We enjoyed mornings and evenings on the covered porch.
- 1/5
The worst experience I have ever had!!! The room was horrible! The base of the lamp on the bedside table had broken apart and just pushed back together. The lamp shades were cracked and falling apart. The curtain had pinholes in it and was covered in dust and cobwebs. The refrigerator was not completely clean. There was a hole in the wall above the AC unit. The bathroom door had been kicked in previously and barely patched on either side. There was a patch done on the wall outside the bathroom, not painted. There was wadded up wet toilet paper in the corner of the ceiling and the wall above the shower, not sure why? There was dried vomit on the wall next to the bathroom sink and dried blood droplets by the bathroom door inside the bathroom. It was a disaster. I've never seen anything like this before in my life. DO NOT STAY HERE! We did not stay, we demanded a refund and left! They did not give us a refund and I will be contacting Hotels.com.
- 4/5
Was convenient place to stay while visiting the area for a weekend getaway. Room was clean and neat and the area was quiet. Would stay again.
- 3/5
The room was cheap and clean. But very damp. The motel is next to a liquor store, and not much else.
- 1/5
The property was dirty and outdated. The bathroom was small the door stuck and couldn’t shut it all the way. Drawers off of the desk and chest were falling off and the smoke detector was handing from the ceiling. The mattress was lumpy and it was difficult to move or fall to sleep. They did have a coffee pot that actually worked. Not enough of plug ins for devices and they gave us three different remotes for the tv and none of them worked. Customer service was horrible.
- 2/5
The bathroom sink was stopped up and not attached to the pedastal. I almost broke it. The remote to the TV was busted. The good Great pizza across street if you are starving after driving for 14 hours Quite room, no street noise All in all I would avoid this place in the future.
- 3/5
The room was small and in disrepair. It was still safe, clean, working facilities and free of bugs. Parking was a bit confusing but all in all it was okay. We just need a place to sleep while traveling this worked out. If you're a fan of The Blair Witch Project movie - part was filmed here. So, thats kinda cool.
- 1/5
Room 102 was old, disgusting, dirty, and not like photos. They must have updated one room for pictures. No smoke detector (wires hanging from ceiling), electrical outlets had no covers or partial broken covers, lamps didnt work well, floors were sticky, curtains were dirty, smelled like cig/pot and was supposed to be non smoking room. Door wouldnt lock properly and looked like someone previously broke in. No comforter on bed and two small pillows. Gave two adults one towel to share and water pressure was minimal. Overall nasty place and when I told them she dismissed complaints and I said I would make negative review and she said OK. We had to go to walmart and buy two more pillows, blanket, TP and frebreeze! Stay away! Not even decent enough for a night!
- 1/5
The Hillside looks like a nice little Inn but its a dump. There were ants in room along with various other bugs, holes in wall, stains everywhere. We found exposed electrical sockets and the lights flickered nonstop. This place needs a visit from health department and code inspectors.

Budget hotel. Adequate for a night or two.
- 2/5
But the lack of cleanliness of the walls, floors, ceiling, and chairs was unnerving. The upholstery of one of the chairs was falling apart under the chair. The drapes were old and dirty, with small pinpoint holes that showed when light passed through them. The toilet kept dripping off & on into the bowl, which was annoying. The room had an old combo air conditioner & heater; it was a chilly night and the chill stayed in the room. The bathroom water was warm, but the bathroom itself was very chilly. Bathroom towels looked clean enough, but were pretty worn down. The fire alarm monitor was hanging down 6-8 inches from the ceiling from its wires. The drawers in the bureau & nightstands could also use a cleaning. All in all, not a very fresh smelling room. Could be fixed up OK with decent, clean furniture and scrubbing & painting of the walls and ceiling.
- 2/5
The entries for this place in WAZE and in other Google searches list it as permanently closed. It is not, but it caused me confusion as I attempted to call them while on the road, and the number was listed as out of service (from a Siri query.) I had to stop and search fo another number to find the correct number and confirm I had a reservation. And--it's variously listed as the Knights Inn and the Hillside Hotel. It's the latter. And the place is REALLY worn down. Old furniture, falling apart furniture, nasty bedspread, no TV remote, no coffee, and NO DINING AREA as shown in pictures. You're getting what you pay for.
- 3/5
I didn't like noisy room heater, shower bar had been torn off walls, dirty chair covering. Definitely expect a dated, older,cheap/budget accommodation.
- 1/5
The owner was extremely rude, the facilities were dirty to say the least. The sheets were staying the pillow cases were stained, the walls had so splattered all over them, the shower had hair in it, they were dead bugs in the window seal, there was writing all over the lamp shade, the bathroom door was busted somebody had kicked it in from the back, the paint was scraped off the walls I would not recommend anyone to stay at this place
- 3/5
I checked in well after dark, and was dismayed to find that the lobby was closed and locked. When I found the window, I had to call for assistance and wait in the cold and windy night. Parking is adequate, but the markings are not clearly visible in the dark. Given the facility's obvious age, I was pleasantly surprised at the modern proximity key for the door. There was plenty of space for me, but the room would have been crowded with another adult and even one small child. The bed area warmed adequately in a reasonable amount of time, but even when I set the temperature higher in the morning, the bathroom remained uncomfortably cold. The minifridge kept my food cold, but the excessive frost on the open freezer compartment took up a lot of space.
- 4/5
The room was clean and nice. The water wouldn’t get hot. Finally after running it for 5 minutes, And couldn’t get the tv to turn on. Would stay again, The manager showed us the room before we checked in.
- 3/5
With a little maintenance this place could have been so much better. A fully made bed would have been nice. Did not meet any staff ,did communicate with manager communication was great.
- 1/5
There was no hot water in two of the three rooms we reserved. Towels and sheets were ancient such that maybe they were clean but they did not look it. My room had toiletries left over from the previous resident. Key return was not secure so anyone could have gone into our rooms after we left.
- 3/5
I didn't stay but the manager was very nice and helpful.
- 1/5
Ac/heater unit smelled like urine when on. Curtains and towels appeared to have blood on them. The floor was sticky and the place had strange people hanging outside the rooms making lots of noise. Lamp shade look like it came out of the trash bin. Overall the worst place I have ever stayed at. I have to be honest in this case.
- 1/5
Also note that it is listed as being 1.6 miles from Harper’s Ferry. Possibly as the crow flies but it was a 35 minute drive.
- 4/5
Mini fridge and microwave is OK and always worked. They're college dorm size but you won't be making complex meals while staying here... For around the area, there's not much but there is a gas station/convenience store right across the street with some hot food and useful household items. And it sits right next to a great Bar&Grill. Though make sure to stock up on the goodies cause there's nothing else around or open after 9pm, unless you go east towards Brunswick. Oh, and a liquor store right next door to the property which has some great stock! Downsides are that your unit may have broken furniture and/or dead bugs to clean up on arrival. You also might need to escort some crickets out of the room, unless you really enjoy their nightly songs. Provided hand/bath towels are clean but clearly old and a bit cheap. I would bring my own if possible or buy some decently better cheap ones at a store on the way. But again, 2 star motel in a rural area of MD. It's not bad at all, and I'll probably stay here again! Friendly staff as well.
- 1/5
Linens were dirty, looked like they had shredded cheese left on them. Bleach not used on linens so they were dingy. There for less than 10 minutes. Stayed elsewhere.
- 1/5
The faucet in the sink did not work; it spewed water at the joint, very little came out of the faucet. The hot water pipes in the shower squealed horribly. The room had a sweet cloying smell. We left the fan running, came back after 4 hours, but the smell was still there. There was no fitted sheet on the bed, only a top sheet. We had to ask for it at the front desk, then make the bed ourselves. The blanket was carelessly thrown on a shelf, not even folded. The coffee maker was dirty/unusable. But there was only decaf coffee anyway. And there were coffee stains on the table where the coffee pot was. The floor was not swept. Walking with bare feet in the room was not an option. Very tight quarters. Less than a foot between wall/window and edge of the bed with AC unit cord lying on the floor. We asked for a discount because of all these inconveniences. We were told, “since the reservation is made with Hotels.com, no discount can be given”. We chose the place for the reasonable price, but also it was part of Wyndham hotels so we thought there would be an acceptable standard of quality. We were so wrong!

The fridge didn’t work, nor did the hot water. Stay away.

No breakfast was offered. We are way beyond COVID.

Heat DIDN'T work well. Lady at front desk swore they checked the unit in all the rooms. Yes it turns on, but doesn't stay on. Keeps kicking off after a minute and doesn't heat the room. Was charged by expedia and the hotel, fortunately was refunded by hotel without too much fuss. Dead bugs all over. Bathroom was barely clean. No cleaning had been done behind fridge and microwave and TV. Only reason we looked was we had to plug in the fridge. Was booked for 2 nights, only stayed 1. Could see daylight around door. Had an old Knights Inn sign up. Description calls it a hotel, which implies more than 1 floor. Definitely NOT! Old, outdated MOTEL. Spend a little more and stay elsewhere

We pulled up to the property. It was run down and in disrepair. The "lobby" was unattended. We waited for 15 minutes after we pushed the buzzer. No one came. We left and went somewhere else. It was appalling!

The room was dirty filthy there was blood on the bed sheets there was bugs everywhere there were drug addicts outside of my room the sheets weren't changed the floors weren't cleaned the bathrooms weren't cleaned but the concierge was very friendly and gave me my money back

It says there is breakfast. But they have a sign posted stating that the health department won’t allow them to serve breakfast. Which is a complete lie. The comforter is merely a decorative sheet. The room is ice cold. The hotel has no ice or vending machines available. This is by far the worst hotel on the planet!!

Beautiful scenery, easy check in and parking.

The room was cramped and dirty. We had to ask for tiolet paper.. King sized bed had two small pillows.

Even checking in around 8pm, the staff was reluctant to open the door and let us in. When asked to provide another blanket, I was told to walk to the office for it because the staff didn’t want to walk outside at night after dark. The blanket didn’t look clean. No ice machine. Noisy heater. Furnishings and linens were old. Overall, just not a very nice stay. I won’t be back and I don’t recommend it.

Check in bullet proof glass window.

BAD…, dirty bedroom, dirty towels, dirty counter tops with Weed left over from previous costumer and the floor, I ask for cleaning supplies so I can clean, was not provided, bad costumer service

It was so disgusting that we ended up riding our bikes (bike packing) 5 miles out of the way to stay elsewhere.

This place was typical of motels from the 50's & 60's. The facilities were worn but clean, and everything functioned as intended. The toilet paper holder was broken, the desk chair reclined way too easily, and the ceiling lamp was very dim, but none of that really caused me any inconvenience. It's quite a climb up from Harper's Ferry by bike or foot, but easily accessed by car (as in Mo-tel.) The view is spectacular. I got fair value for my money

This was the dirtiest hotel I've ever been in, The dust on the floor under the bed was an inch thick. The floor clearly had never been swept. The security lock on our door had been broken off. The front desk person told me that Papa Johns delivered to the hotel, but they did not.

a few showers were cooler than I would like. rooms were clean. Could use some weeding in the flower beds in front of the units.

Very Dirty floors , dirty mirrors , clogged bath tub, we found bugs every night. Leaking water drip noises coming from the pipes above our beds. 2/10 would not come back.

Upon arriving, they told us the room (large room with king sized bed) we booked was not available. When we told them we weren't interested in the other room they had (two queen beds), they refused to refund us and told us only Expedia could provide a refund. I just got off the phone with Expedia and was told I had to contact the hotel. I doubt the management will give it to us after initially refusing and misleading us about the refund process. I have booked through Expedia before, but this experience was so negative I'm reconsidering using this site ever again. We did not stay the night at this place and drove to a Holiday Inn Express instead. Asked for a king bed and got one. The room they showed us at Hillside was not great but I wasn't expecting an amazing room, just wanted what I paid for.

There are weeds everywhere, a lot of trash and abandoned chairs and what not on the property. The room was barely cleaned(gone over with a broom it seemed). The towels were sub par. The microwave was dirty inside.

Check in was extremely slow. Room was infested with bed bugs. Shower was still wet when we checked in and had hair all over it. Shower head looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Walls are super thin, could hear the people next door plain as day. Bed extremely uncomfortable

We arrived at hotel and received a room that was occupied by a gentleman that had no clothes on when we opened the door. While this was fixed right away, it was still a bit unsettling. The door to our room was very hard to close properly without having to force it. We felt like we were going to break it at one point. The bed was also not very clean. There were black specks of dirt at the very bottom of the bed. We were on an anniversary trip to Harper's Ferry. We wanted somewhere budget friendly but still a nice place to rest our heads. There was also an incident with a staff member that made us very uncomfortable. While I believe it was meant to be a good natured laugh, it was a bit too much for our comfort level. All in all, I do not believe this is a place that we will return to.

Nice older Motel with cleaner than expected rooms. Abi is a nice person who checked us in. Watch when paying cash though. He charged my card before I had a chance to pay cash. No big deal. Hot water was out so cold showers until 9 PM. Very quiet location which is a plus. Overall for a place to stay in Harpers Ferry for the night you cant beat the price.

Made me wait 3 hours before giving me a room even though the entire place was empty. The bathroom door was filthy although the bathroom itself was clean. I felt I was imposing on them rather than receiving quality service.
- 4/5
The room was okay but the check-in office wasn't the best. It's definitely a place to lay your head for the night and move on.

The clerk was nice. The room was about what you would expect for a roadside motel. Not the cleanest, not the worst bed and the ac mostly worked.
- 1/5
Poor quality, horrible smell, misleading photos. I took one look at the room and decided not to stay. It was like being at a motel 6.

in the morning I had NO POWER AND NO RUNNING WATER....i expect a full refund asap

Images onexpedia misleading. This is a run down former knights inn. room floors not clean. Was a shabby motel for 90$- definitely not worth

The plumbing for the shower in my room wasn't working well. It wasn't a big deal to me because I was only stopping in for one night and didn't notice the problem until the morning. When I told one of the owners about it, he said he would have changed my room (I had already opted for a bath instead), and he immediately told his co-worker about it so he could fix it.

For the price this was a great choice. It was comfortable enough for a couple night stay. The service was very friendly and were there when we checked in at 11:30pm which surprised me. The only complaint that we had was the tv remote batteries were dead and there was only a little left on the toilet paper roll and the office was closed by then to get more.
