The room was perfect, the breakfast was the best I've had in a long time at a hotel, and we had a handicap person with us which was accommodated perfectly by the facility

The staff was very helpful, courteous and provided excellent accommodations and a delicious breakfast. We were therefor two days until our car was repaired. Highly recommend this motel to future travelers.

200 dollar nights is outrageous for this hotel. Staff smoking right outside of the front doors, had to ask them to move to get out the door. Never stay at this hotel or recommed it. We travel alot and never had this experience.

We liked the bathtub. We did not like the decor. It was very dated. That made us feel like the price was too high for a dated hotel in need of updating things. Also, my mother-in-law had difficulty sleeping due to the airplanes flying in so late. We had no clue there was no noise ordinance after a certain time at night.

There was a bad smell in the room. Very odd dirty smell. We were able to change the room and the other was better but still could smell an underlying odor. Kept that room because it was late. I do think it possible that we were the only people that complained of it. Also a dead bug on the carpet.

The location was good for our travel purpose. The staff is exemplary! From Beth who greeted us when we arrived in the evening to the breakfast staff—both were so pleasant! The whole stay was fabulous. It was during a snow storm with over 6+ inches. From the front staff, room and snacks it made being stranded not so bad. I only wish the parking lot had been scrapped

The property was in a convenient location, close to my venue, as well as retail stores and restaurants. There was nothing that I did not like about the property. The only issue I had was that the toilet in my room was stopped up and even after using a plunger it wasn’t working properly.

The bed had a bad dip in it. Almost like a hole. The mattress was old and very hard. The drain in the shower didn't always work. There were rust stains all over the room. It was one of the worst rooms I have stayed in and the price was outrageous for what you get.

Some late night or very early morning staff could be friendlier and professional in appearance and demeanor. Safety with upkeep to ensure outer doors actually close without extra pulling so key cards have to be used.

Everything was great! The breakfast was amazing, honestly by far the best I’ve had at a hotel stay!

Cleaning could be improvised a bit more. Also, hotel or at least the 3rd floor is supposed to be considered “smoke free” however every time we would step into the bathroom of our hotel room you could get a strong smell of cigarettes as of someone had been smoking in there. We realized it came in through the bathroom vent. Not sure if from the room next door or where, but the bathroom door had to remain closed otherwise the whole room would reek of cigarette smoke.

My husband travels extensively for work and stays at many Holiday Inn Express properties. Not really a complaint, but an observation. The wall lamps by the bed are switched. The light switches are on the outside and should be inside by the bed. LOL. Found it numerous but it may need to be switched sides.

Location is great, The breakfast has always been excellent. We have stayed in this facility several times. Staff has always been helpful and attentive. Place is always clean. Unfortunately this time and also during our stay in May of this year, after being out for a few hours, we returned to the hotel to find that the room had not been serviced. This time we got back a little before 2pm and last May at about 3 pm. Requested clean towels, which a staff member provided for us but we had to make the bed as my husband is used to taking a nap. Hotel did not seemed very full, even that way room was not serviced on time. Bath tubs are slippery and there is not one safety bar in the tub area. there iss only a bar on the wall at the entrance of the shower. Though we do not need a disabled facility, We are seniors and able to get in and out of the shower , but it is very dangerous. and a liability to the facility

Noisy in the room

The staff was very friendly, the room was spacious and the breakfast was pretty good too. The price was a little steep, for the price I was looking for a walk-in shower and the hallway smelled a little musky

The hotel is very clean. The staff were so nice and helpful. She was quick to check us in and was so welcoming. There was a great breakfast selection. Large clean bathroom with dove hygiene products available for use. Kitchenette was perfect for room. All in all, it was an amazing stay. Im disappointed I forgot to take pictures when we arrived, but the photos in the advertisement honestly do look like what you get. My only complaint is we arrived late and forgot to get bedding for the hide-a-bed and had to go back down to the desk to obtain it (they may have brought it to the room but we didn't call the desk to ask) and even that was our fault not the hotels.

She was very informative and made my check-in very smooth! The room was great, the shower pressure was perfect (the shower curtain was a bit short but I made it work) but the room was very clean and the bed was the BEST bed I'd ever slept on at a hotel EVER. Highly recommend this hotel especially if you will be staying longer than 1 night. It is 30 minutes from downtown Charlotte and worked out great for us going to the Metallica concert there. I will DEFINITELY book here again when I come there for future visits!

Our room was very clean, and we were less than five minutes from the Two Kings Casino. I would stay here again.

The room needed vacuumed, when we arrived. There were crumbs and a dead roach by the bed. The bathroom floor along the wall was filthy. There was dust buildup on many surfaces throughout the room. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. We won’t stay here again.

The property was easy to travel too. Check was fast, easy. The breakfast options were good. I would have liked the bathroom would have had a few more towels and the kitchen could use at least one roll of paper towels. But, I would definitely stay there again.

There was a horrible smell in our room when arriving. It improved overtime. Our son slept on the sofa bed. We found children’s cups (not ours, under the pull out.

Always outstanding!

Rooms were big and nice, however they did have a musty smell. Also found it odd that the vent connected to the other room in the bathroom, so the next rooms light and sounds were coming thru.

Front desk staff very helpful and friendly. House keeping staff also great.

Our King bed was way way way to soft - it felt like out 20 yr old mattress the we got rid of - we always had to ask for towels at the front desk when housekeeping took our dirty towels. They did not replace them with the same ones that they took away. They only gave us two bath two hand and two wash.

From the time we got off the elevator the second floor smelled terrible. Very musty. Our room was the first room off the elevator and it smelled terrible. There was no soap in the bathroom. We choose holiday in express in our travels regularly. This was the worst experience we have had.

Vary pleased with room and staff. I was surprised to see a lift chair to help handicap guests get in and out of pool. Cool outdoor patio for cookouts.

The hotel was very close to highways. It was very loud. Also, the air conditioning unit was very loud every time it cycled it woke me up

The 1 stars aren't accurate because we weren't even able to stay. They canceled our room without warning or offering other room options or compensation or help finding room elsewhere, the day before check in. Might not have been that bad, but was a busy event weekend in the area, so we were forced to stay far away and drive. They said it was due to construction that our room wasn't ready. I didn't know they 'built to order'.

Overall good hotel as the bed & linens were soft however the room had a musty smell & the bathroom was substandard. No ventilation so got super steamy fast, the curtain wouldn't stay on one side so kept sliding down & got water all over the floor & the ac was a little noisy :(

Hotel was clean breakfast was good. We booked another day a couple days before showing up and spoke with attendant at the desk to confirm. Checked in asked if they needed our CC and attendant said no everything was good for 2 days. However the extra day didn’t show up as we thought. We understood mishaps with new people however; the manager, handled the mishap unprofessionally. She didn’t see the extra day and insisted we needed to leave. My wife explained we did book another day but the manager was not having it nor hearing what happened. Continued asking my wife you need to leave. Now we travel a good bit and stay at hotels regularly. We understand how CC are left to cover any incidental etc. This will be our last stay because the manager handled the incident in an unprofessional manner. You need to work on your communication skills! Don’t just assume and ask question!

Generally a clean room! I've stayed in other locations in Kings Mountain and they were NOT like this. NO smells, clean bathroom, clean bedroom. Outstanding to have the fridge and microwave. Coffee maker looked like it was dusty and grimy, but I brought instant coffee and just microwaved water, so that was okay. It truly would be nice if there are grab-and-go bags or fruit available if you leave before breakfast starts (at 7am).

The facility was clean, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast proved better than average. The street noise on our side of the motel was annoying.

We have stayed here many times in the past. For the most part, our stay was pleasant. Check in was quick, bed comfortable and food was as expected— no complaints there. However, the chaise lounge was filthy! There were what I suspect were semen stains on it. I refused to sit on it. Housekeeping either didn’t take the time to clean it or they just didn’t notice the stains but in my opinion, it was very hard to miss. It really grossed us out. Other than that, the room was fine.

The place was nice, there wasn’t much in amenities but there were a lot of food choices nearby. The pool at the time of this review was closed being in late October. Every day I came back from my work the room was cleaned and restocked

My husband and I were on a road trip and stopped for the night. It was clean, the bed was super soft, but they mixed up the room they assigned us. Other guests were attempting to get into our room around midnight because they got assigned the same one as us. Then when their key didn’t work they got a hotel employee and he opened our door with the master key while we were sleeping inside! Luckily we had the chain pulled closed and he couldn’t get all the way in before we made ourselves known.

It was comfortable but very dated and in need of cleaning and upgrades. Very noisy and staff not very friendly.

Normally this is a pretty decent hotel to stay at but for whatever reason my whole family got ate up by bedbugs my kids couldn’t go to school I spent over $1000 trying to disinfect my house we have lines of bites all over us this is horrible and the staff is willing to do nothing to try to help me get my money back or come see me for their uncleanliness also the room that we were giving the door did not even lock and we tried to go in the room the very first time there was a person in the room we went back down and got a new key and came back up the door was wide open the bed was not made up the shower was soaking wet they were used towels everywhere I guess we were staying in the room that they weren’t aware of The side door does not lock you can get in without a key also the patio area is never locked in a lot of the rooms when you just let the door slam on its own they stay propped up and therefore anybody can get inside of them I don’t know if it’s done on purpose or what I’m very disappointed and we will not be going back there I have a 7 and 3-year-old and this is very unacceptable very unprofessional and I cannot get any of the management or staff to give me a call back not sure what to do but I spent $215 in a room for one night we didn’t even get to sleep because we’re getting bit by bugs and doesn’t have the night we’re trying to make sure we’re safe in Very disappointed butThe lady that works Evenings has tried her very best to help and she is greatly appreciated

Hotel itself is in need of maintenance Our room had mold on the ceiling from upstairs ac plus dripping from condensation on our window seal.

Pool was closed, upstairs ice machine was out of order, down stairs ice machine was dirty, room didn’t have enough towels, sheets. Staff was friendly and helpful but I don’t feel like I should pay full price if you don’t have all the amenities operating that you advertise.

No pool and it wasn’t advertised when I booked. It’s clearly being resurfaced. Ice machines broke. No sheets for sofa bed nor towels or wash clothes. Had to make several trips down to front desk to get what should have been in room.

The pool hadn't passed inspection so was not open but overall the stay was good. Check on/out staff were helpful

Also the pool was not open! It’s June 3 and temperature was 91. So the stay was saved in the end by everyone being friendly. Breakfast was very good! This was our third stay. We visit the area for golf. Hope to return in few months. The entire staff needs to be re-trained. They are trying but I believe they are out of their comfort zone. The staff means well just needs guidance.
