Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Kingman by IHG

The hotel is in need of a facelift (and is in the midst of getting one) but there are workers, building materials and signs of the renovation everywhere--not that inviting for guests.

If you're looking to stay at a hotel that doesn't have a bathroom fan/vent, which is commonly used for muffling sound, hot showers, and/or airing out the room related to said muffled sounds, this is the hotel for you. I cannot recall staying at a hotel with this simple 'amenity,' and I use that term loosely, missing.

Avoid room 317. The window is over the entrance of the hotel and there are pigeon droppings EVERYWHERE and the air conditioning unit is right over those droppings. I cannot image that was very safe to breath. You could hear the birds every morning. The TV in that room would not stay connected to DirectTV. Maintenance came and looked at it but it wouldn't stay connected so we used our iPads on the WiFi to watch what we wanted. The front desk staff were nice enough and told us they couldn't move us because the hotel was full and offered us a free drink from their little shop. It was a nice effort on their part and we did appreciate that. The hotel needs A LOT of work. They are currently doing renovations but it is a very run-down hotel. The beds were reasonably comfortable. Outside of the bird droppings right next to the air conditioner and the TV issues, it was just an okay stay. I wouldn't stay there again, though.

We searched for a pet friendly hotel. They do allow pets but charge a $50 fee which wasn’t clearly stated on the website.

We had a restful night in a comfortable bed and appreciated the helpful and friendly staff. This was an excellent location for our stay. We will definitely return again on future trips.

It was being remodeled. Definitely wasn't clean and being woke up early to construction wasn't pleasant.

We were given a very dirty room. Then transferred to another room that has a non flushing toilet. When front desk staff was informed, she replied “what do you mean?” I said it again, toilet won’t flush. No one came to fix it for the whole duration of our stay. Never again will I book in that hotel. Sorry. I think we paid more than what we got.l and we did not deserve that room.

The pool floor was coming apart, it felt like you were walking on dirt. There was a odor in the hallways, and the there was construction going inside the hotel on the 2nd floor. So it was loud.

I wouldn’t stay here again. It felt very dirty and run down. The sofa bed was so dirty and gross. The fake leather was peeling off and such a mess. I felt so bad my daughter had to sleep on it. I asked for a different room but nothing was available. The carpet was so dirty I didn’t want to walk on it without shoes. The extra blankets seemed dirty and had holes in them. The hallway had plastic sheets on the ground. The hotel was very run down. The breakfast was fine.

Everything was great until the last day I was there when I asked for my room to get clean new bedding and the morning front seat guy said I’ll have someone go do it and I was gone all day and I came back and my room was the same as a left it

Older Holiday Inn. Bed mattress was old and lumpy, leaning to one side. Laid diagonal across mattress to find comfortable position. Nice walk-in shower. Great breakfast...I always look for a Holiday Inn because I believe they have the best free breakfast of all hotel chains.

I would say it would be good if there was a dark roast option for the coffee. They do have a Kureg coffee machine in the room which is good. We enjoyed ourselves and were very happy staying here.

The only thing that was wrong with the room was that the best sheets were staying in the pillowcases were stained and when we called in cuz we came in late check in we called in and said if we can get some clean blankets in the front desk staff said that they couldn't give us any cuz nobody was on that late so we had to sleep without blankets they're also told the front desk in the morning what happened and they were understanding very courteous and very apologetic

The view and the evening desk operator were very nice. The toilet didn’t flush well and stopped altogether, the water from the tap was warm whether you pushed the handle left or right (creepy), and the AC didn’t keep the room cool.

I love this hotel! Second time staying here. The beds and pillows are so comfortable!! The breakfast is really good too. It felt very safe and centrally located. Close to in-n-out and Human Bean coffee!!

Booked 2 rooms for a night stay with Family. The property seems outdated. In one room ac was not working. Staff suggested to open window and sleep or take a refund and find another motel. Another room washbasin was leaking from the bottom. Didn't even bother to call them and kept the trash can to prevent slipping can under to

Also, the hotel front desk was unhelpful. When I asked for extra bath towels, they said they couldn't provide more than the number of towels allocated per guest. I stayed at other hotels afterward and never encountered this issue, so I cannot recommend this one.

The room was very clean, so I tipped the maid. The bed was good. The entire hotel is in poor repair and shabby. The entry needed sweeping. The one elevator had a tile duct-taped in place. There was a broken water cooler and broken ice macine near the elevator. The hall carpets were worn. The lobby and breakfast area had no air conditioning (in Arizona).

Staff upgraded the room from a King Studio to a sweet with 2 bathrooms and 2 beds.

After a day on the road it was nice to relax at a clean convenient hotel near downtown Kingman.

Clean, comfortable, quiet, easily accessible. Room was a bit dim, even with all lights on. Room was spacious and nice size bathroom. Breakfast was better than a lot of places.

This is not your typical new feeling Holiday Inn Express. It is actually very outdated in the rooms, decor, pool, etc but it was comfortable & clean & nothing wrong at all. In fact the bed was really comfortable! And the staff was nice.

Before using hotels.com app, I was another app user that used this hotel specifically and only. I could have stayed in Vegas but chose to go on home to Phoenix. Pulling into kingman, I discovered how tired I really was and decided to stay in town. Using the app, there were plenty of options for kingman, however, I chose to go to my usual because I know what to expect and it was worth it to pay a lil extra for some things. The hotel staff was nice enough, the lobby, hallways and the room was clean. Before settling for the night, was gonna run out to get some ice for a drink only to find that the 3rd floor ice machine was broken. Only the first floor machine worked according to the clerk so I just stayed in my room preparing for bed. Slid into bed only to feel how incredibly uncomfortable and hard the mattress was! I think a piece of plywood and a comforter would have provided a better nights sleep! I woke up every 20-30 minutes with an arm numb, another time a leg & foot, on and on through out the loooong night! I should have driven the extra 3 hours on home to Phoenix! Or I could have chosen a different cheaper hotel. I chose the holiday inn express because they’ve become my “go to” place when I’m away from home and I always know what I’m gonna get and what to expect. This night though??? Absolutely horrible because of the awful mattress. I feel ripped off, I didn’t get much sleep at all. I do NOT recommend & refuse to stay here again even if it was free

this is not the very nice version of this hotel that I have come to expect. It’s older and not upgraded, no hot tub, broken icemaker on my floor. And a surprising unwillingness to keep my ice packs in the hotel’s freezer.

We stay here every time we come to Kingman and it never disappoints!

The staff member that checked me in was very rude and unhelpful. The bed was comfortable. The walls are paper thin the guy had his TV on the entire night and I got very little sleep. The morning. Staff was very pleasant and the lady who did breakfast was super helpful and kind.

The property is a bit dated. The lone elevator is super slow and takes forever to travel the grand 3 story building. The breakfast quality could be improved. Overall, a decent highway stop hotel.

Exactly what I expected from a Holiday Inn. Great staff and clean. Good breakfast. I love that they have King sizes beds as an option. We had a long day of traveling and I was sound asleep within minutes of going to bed because the bed was so comfortable.

Main issue. The woman who I asked to get a room where I could see parking lot wouldn’t give me one. And. She was tart. And. She charges $50 on top of $156 already paid for my little dog. I was nervous all night about my trailer rig. No security or cameras on it. She was abrupt and didn’t care. More concerned hour pet fee. Morning crew great. But. I didn’t need a $50 charge on top of worrying about my trailer all night. Won’t return.

The first room it had some issues with the AC, refrigerator, and restroom but they were able to provide us with another room and it was excellent. We liked the housekeeping staff and breakfast staff they were super friendly. The hotel was in a good area surrounded with other restaurants, park and businesses.

The room was nice and clean but very HOT. Left ac on for three hours but not any cooler so called front desk and they told us how to reset it. That seemed to work but then during the night it didn’t cool off. We were too tired by then to change rooms. Told the young man when we checked out about ac and bathroom sink pugging up. He was very nice but didn’t write anything down to share with maintenance like he said he would.

Overall we were impressed. We did find leftover food in the mini fridge and microwave that had not been disposed of prior to our entering the room. The pool was closed for maintenance on a holiday weekend which seems like a silly time to be closed. We were given instructions to use the Days Inn pool next door however that pool was frigid, and the staff seemed to have no idea that the Holiday Inn was doing that. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay and experience.

They canceled our reservation. We even called ahead to notify of our late arrival. We arrived at 1130pm to find out our room was canceled.

If you want Days Inn quality for Marriott prices, this place is for you...

We have always used this hotel when visiting family. And it has been great! This time around not so great. Beds are super uncomfortable. There was stains on the bathroom counter and dusty. Looked as it hadnt really been cleaned. Long black Hair on the clean towels. Old and outdated fixtures falling off the walls. Elevator needs maintenance. Paint was chipped on the walls. Didnt try breakfast this trip just packed up and headed out.

My stay was great all the way up until the end when I was trying to check out the the guy that was checking out was extremely rude when I was trying to look up my rewards points number he stated that since we had worked with a third-party that we cannot get rewards points, I told him that the person that I checked us in the other night stated that we could and he said that that was a lie in a very extremely unprofessional way I would almost not stay here again just because of that experience

Spacious and clean room with all the amenities needed. Breakfast was very good as well. Spa wasn't available. That would have been amazing after a tiring hiking trip, but all in all, a great experience and would stay here again.

This was our last stop on our weeks vacation to Sedona and the grand canyon and this was the best hotel we stayed at during our trip. It was what I expected from Holiday Inn. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable, overall a really good stay. I can't think of anything negative to say about it. I wish I could have stayed in this hotel for the entire trip, would have been nice. The breakfast was very good, a lot of choices and plenty of room and tables. The staff was very friendly and helpful, first rate.

Carpet is old and dingy. The building is old, the decor and amenities are outdated.

The staff checking us in was very slow. He also the took my credit card and ran it instead of giving me the option to do it.

essentially, there was a lot of mixup at check-in, getting the wrong room, and then being placed with somebody that had the same last name and all this other stuff… I did actually do my booking for a day later than I should’ve, however, it should’ve been noticed and it was a whole thing. I thought it was lack of training, but the manager was amazing and took care of it. the concierge who checked me and I’ve been there over five months, great young man however, I think he needed this to help him see the importance of taking his job seriously. Other than all that great location close to the freeway, you do hear stuff but it’s close to the freeway for a reason.

Hotel was old and worn. Beds uncomfortable. Check in woman was unfriendly. The door had a gap that let light in from the hallway. People were very loud and rowdy in the hallways. Broken beer bottles in the parking lot. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Safe area. Clean hotel. Water pressure in the shower could be better and please make sure the hairdryer works. Coffee and a full breakfast was delicious . Bed was very comfy! Worth the stay!

This property is in need of serious renovation in comparison to other Holiday Inn Express I have stayed at. It was dark and dingy. I would not stay here again.

Single woman with my dog traveling cross country! This place is a good solid 4, amenities are good. Breakfast was great. The bed was so comfortable and the front desk staff worked hard to get me the room that I asked for! Housekeeping staff were friendly and funny! Check in and out was very easy the building is dated of course, the property is on a main drag in an older part of town, but inside the decor was clean, decorative, warm and inviting!

It was on our way to California. Loved that it was right on Route 66, so we were able to site see there.

Shampoo and body wash containers are mounted much too high for anyone taking a bath. These should be lowered to make them accessible for people who shower as well as those who like to have a bath.

Check in staff were nice , checkout guy didn’t help with our room issues . Breakfast was ok . Loud pipes all night and we got no sleep and we had court the next day . Work up to a cold shower . Sink blast so hard you get all wet !!!!!

We did have some neighbors upstairs making a lot of noise jumping or something but we were too tired and just fell asleep otherwise loved it Was clean and good price

All of the workers we had contact with were very nice and helpful. There was one day when our room didn’t get any attention (beds did not get made and no clean towels) My teenage kids were sad that the hot tub was not usable (it was in a separate room that was locked and we could see through the window that there was no water in the hot tub). Other then that, we would happily stay there again. Thanks Expedia, for helping us get a discount.

The comfort and cleanliness of this hotel was the prominent feature. However, the breakfast left a lot to be desired. The eggs were overcooked (brown at the edges/almost inedible) and the muffins were stale. We’ve eaten at lots of hotels and my hubby designated this to be the worst. That’s pretty bad!

Looking a little worn out and in need of a hard cleaning. Nice staff though, great breakfast. Tub faucet wasn't working properly, small TV. But overall I liked the Western decor and was comfortable.

Arrived late at night, nice customer service. Advised elevators were out of service, gave us a first floor room. The door to our room was propped open when we arrived. Weird. Very dim lighting and old out of date room. Like maybe they hadn’t had someone stay in awhile. Would not stay here again.

Staff was excellent. Housekeeping should be given an award for the cleanliness. Maintenance guy fixed my TV in a jiffy and the front desk gave me a quiet room . This property is close ( 5 minutes) to all kinds of good eating and a good quaint cinema. The coffee makers are Keurig and the fridge has a small freezer. . Breakfast is at 6am and check-in is a nice early 2pm.

The person checking us in (Star?) was very friendly and helpful. It was very hot out (103). She was able to get us checked in a bit early. We really appreciated that given the extreme temperatures. Thank you!

The room, not so much. Upon entering-- the smell was so STRONG of air freshener we thought. After looking in the AC unit someone had crammed a car air freshener in the AC unit. I used a tweezer to remove it so we could breathe during our stay! The mirrors were not cleaned The floor was left with a sticky residue and old shoe prints The curtains looked as if they had vomit stains on them Headboards were dusty and full of handprints There were contact lenses stuck to the bathroom door and walls The towels were just thrown on the rack with not enough for our stay. The TV remotes did not work for the tv and broken Upon swimming there was a teenage kid with a bloody nose swimming and using the hotel towels to subdue the bleeding. The towel was then left by the pool. It was not worth what we paid but we made it work. Being in the hospitality business this was a terrible clean. We will be checking out surrounding hotels during our next stay.

2. The shower leaked and created a lake in the bathroom. 3. The one receptionist was rude, none of them even cared about the complaints of us and others staying there. And they were rude to customers because we legitimately had complaints like our key didn’t work again! 4. No one told us the rooms weren’t cleaned while we were there. We had to take out our own garbage and find someone on cleaning staff to get clean towels, toilet paper and tissues. Tissues were empty and toilet paper was less than half roll without an extra when we got there. 5. There was not enough parking. It was always full with a few double parked. This actually caused people to park in front of the entrance doors hindering access to the building and blocking access to the trash cans and smoking area. 6. The breakfast was horrid. I felt as if I was back on a submarine. No flavor, always out of anything that was good. Fresh fruit was either gone or going bad. 7. The spa was broke, and we weren’t informed beforehand. 8. They never applied my military discount to the room. I’ve stayed all over the world and have never had a worse experience in a hotel. I would never stay there again nor recommend it to anyone. It was so bad we made it a point to ONLY be there to sleep. Come in at midnight to get up and leave by 6am.

Key cards kept having to be switched constantly they where no where near my phone or my cards or keys and I still had to get new ones and while me and my boyfriend where sleeping a maid walked in on us while we were naked and the room was okay the coffee maker was dirty and the bathroom was out soap never got replaced and we had no towels which I’m sure your supposed to replace after each customer so my stay was very disappointing

Generally ok but the spa was under construction and not declared on website. Also the bed on the pull out sofa was terrible. The lowest quality I’ve ever seen.
