Keswick Hall is a luxurious 5-star resort praised for its beautiful property, excellent staff, and high-quality amenities. Guests frequently mention the stunning grounds, comfortable rooms, and delicious food at Marigold restaurant. However, some guests have experienced issues with service, particularly at Crawford's restaurant, and inconsistencies in staff performance.

The hotel and grounds are beautiful! We were only there for 1 night so not able to take advantage of all the amenities. The Front Desk clerk was new and did not provide all information about the property. The instructions on how to get to our room were incorrect. We decided to have a drink in the lounge and upon entering both staff members were fully engaged in their conversation. We asked if we could select our own area to sit and were told yes, but not in a friendly welcoming manner, more annoyed that we had interrupted their conversation. The level of Customer Service did not meet the level of the property or prices they charge. We were glad to have dinner at Marigold which was an incredible experience.

Most importantly, they’re pet friendly and my “boys”, Louie and Logan are treated like rock stars. Great walking grounds, and the rooms are fabulous where you just want to stay in and relax.

Beautiful resort with amazing staff and service. From the bellman to the check in staff and restaurant waitstaff, everyone was pleasant, helpful, and welcoming. The area behind the lobby had comfortable seating and board games by a warm fireplace. Multiple tennis courts and year around heated outdoor pool were wonderful amenities. Will definitely come back!

There wasn't anything at Keswick that was NOT spectacular. The grounds were beautiful, the facilities were pristine, the golf course was in fantastic shape, staff was super nice and helpful at all times. Exactly what one wants when getting away from home for a relaxing weekend. Not a thing. It exceeded our expectations in all ways.

The property is beautiful. It is absolutely immaculate. The staff is courteous and kind. Everything is oriented in a way that is very comfortable while maintaining a luxurious feel. The dining options are too notch and the pools are perfection. This is our second stay and will not be our last. There were so many great people working there but Cassie and David made the experience exceptional for us and we are very grateful. Everything

We've returned to Keswick three times during the past 12 months, and we will do so again many times into the future. This is "our" go-to 5 Star resort for a mini-vacation...the best in Virginia.

Keswick Hall is an amazing property if you are looking to stay just outside of Charlottesville in a quiet area but still have all the amenities you could ask for. Their rooms are beautiful with gorgeous marble bathrooms. So many little touches that make a difference like having controls for the room lighting by each bed. Breakfast at Marigold was delicious. We got coffees and pastries at the little shop near the lobby on our last morning which was also wonderful. The property is so peaceful and pretty to walk around. We haven’t gotten to enjoy the pools as we have only visited here in early spring but they are beautiful as well

First time staying at this property. It lived up to all expectations. From David, who greeted us at the door, and after seeing my mobility issues, told us to leave the car in easy access parking space at the front door. To the room, which was beautiful and clean and to the front desk staff who were very helpful.

Our room was lovely and spacious with high tech lighting. Bathroom was lovely and large with many special touches. We also had a private patio overlooking the pool area. Especially enjoyed the complimentary mini bar. Evening turn-down service was a nice touch. The infinity pool area is really outstanding with views of the golf course and mountains. Very relaxing and heated pools extend the swimming season. Service in the coffee bar was the best. We had dinner on our first night at Marigold's. Meal, service, and ambience were all outstanding. The 2nd night we had a causal dinner at Crawford's. It was horrible. Entire order was wrong, and it took forever to mostly get what we ordered. And the food we did get was poor quality, still not correct, and not good. Worst of all the server never apologized. When we explained all that was wrong her response was "Absolutely". What??? Later the manager came by and apologized and comped our meal which we appreciated. But it never should have happened and when it did someone should have apologized. The dinner experience was ruined. All in all we loved Keswick and will likely return. But we will never go back to Crawford's.

Keswick's renovation took the resort to the next level...that is even if this was possible. The entire facility is an expression of greatness...a gem...a Magnum Opus in the heart of Virginia. The room was perfect...5 Stars, and the Marigold Restaurant (by Jean-George's) .was one of the finest meals I have ever had anywhere in the world. As they say...the quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten. The is a MUST destination if you haven't already enjoyed the splendors of the Keswick Inn.

What a hidden and unexpected gem. Our suite was spectacular and the balcony overlooked the well groomed and maintained golf course. The attached restaurant was top tier for food quality, options and service. We had an amazing spa experience that was on the same grounds. I would highly recommend the resort, restaurant, and spa.

There is only one suggestion that I would make. My husband and I had an 8 am tee time. Being diabetic, there was nothing in the coffee shop I could eat. I suggest hard boiled eggs, fruit, etc. Also, we are early risers so something other than a sweet would be good.

Although a thin selection, they have room service The “upgrade” in the property that is really a downgrade is exchanging the elegant Fossett’s restaurant with the overly causal and confusing Marigold’s. The marigold menu has pizza, raw bar and fried chicken (NOT bone in) on a menu that has no them. The wine list is good, but very expensive and I had a situation where the wine was “bretty”. Of course the service was great and all problems taken care, but the casual nature and thin menu isn’t suitable for the history and style of Keswick. Finally, there was a “rookie mistake” when the valet let us drive off without our car key. Since all cars are “keyless”, the backup key in my wife’s bag allowed us to leave without noticing that the valet did not give us the key before or after loading the car. Of course, management overnight the key, but it was a hassle. I still can’t figure out my bill from them. It’s not cheap, and they do not make a big deal out of room service receipts, but I still have trouble putting it together. I was asked about how “eco-friendly” they are now. It’s an absurd question for a luxury resort and cost, give me choices, class and clarity and we’ll worry about “the planet” at the Motel 6.

I checked in late, about 30 minutes before 9pm food service stopping. Customer service is amazing. The manager pulled up the regular in room dining menu when we were at the bar. We didn’t want just bar small plates (which are good). I didn’t want to have to pay extra fee for in room service & offered to pick up food. I got a generous pour of wine and my food was delivered within 20 minutes to my room w no fee. This is one of my favorite places to stay anywhere. Only thing I would change is the shocking hold charge for a room. $290 for a 1 night stay? Every other hotel is $50 for Hilton/Marriott/Hyatt or $100 for fancier hotels.

Staff needs training. They had no idea if there is a safe in the room and where it might be located nor did they offer to find out. The gym was supposed to open at 6 am and did not. Pool was supposed to open at 7 am and did not. When we asked for assistance with hot air balloon reservations we were told they do not provide concierge services so we should book it ourselves. Car service to airport we were told to call an Uber except when we tried to do so there were no Ubers available in that area. Then we asked for a car service and were told to google it because they do not have a car service recommendation/contact number. Given the caliber of hotel this beyond poor.

The landscaping was wonderful, nice spacious room, lovely pool area with an amazing view and a beautiful restaurant next door. No coffee/tea making facilities in the room. Some of the staff lacked the professionalism one would expect at a resort like this. Leak in the ceiling of our room, WC door was too large to close. Loud and obnoxious music played at the pool, very off putting. No complimentary drinking water available at the pool.

It was good Restaurant wouldn’t substitute sides. Also the breakfast was overpriced for what it was. For that price they could give a little more food.

The lobby bar and mixologist was great. Our waiter at Jean George was friendly and professional. The property oozes luxury. We were passing through and there just one night. Next trip will be longer and include golf - the course looks amazing. Jean Georges restaurant was far more casual than we expected.

Awful, awful customer service. It's now been one month since I've been emailing and leaving voicemails in regards to an incorrect charge on my credit card and nobody at this hotel has the decency to respond. Not to mention I came for a little Christmas getaway, had to do with the hotel lacking enough staff members for the amount of people that were there (and there weren't even that many people there). We made a reservation for Christmas dinner at Keswick Hall's restaurant, Fossett's, weeks in advance since they were having a special Christmas prix fixe menu we were looking forward to. Sadly, we never got to eat that meal since the sole (!) waitress who we saw that night never came to our table. I let the person at the front desk know about our experience, she apologized and told me the manager would be in touch with me via email. Surprise! Aside from also not hearing back about the wrong credit card charge,it's been nearly 3 weeks- no email from the manager. I wonder- perhaps this manager trained the waitress who never acknowledged us that night--that would make a lot of sense. Don't spend money at this place--so many better options out there with actual customer service.

It was just announced the hotel will shut down for renovations next Spring for a year and it's easy to see why. Stayed there four days during Thanksgiving week. No heat in the public spaces, making the lobby, library and billiards room too uncomfortably cold to use, though I saw some elderly folks gamely trying to use the lobby in coats and hats. Staff was sympathetic, as they were cold too and many were in fleeces and sweaters. Was told the heating system AND fireplaces weren't working. Also had plumbing problems in my room. The main restaurant was only open one evening during my stay. Disappointing, as this is a lovely property, and have enjoyed it very much in the past. At least they recognize the problems and will be spending considerable time addressing them. Will look forward to it reopening in 2019, but be careful in the meantime.
