Fairfield Inn by Marriott Joliet South

Reserved my two bed room 6 months before traveling and at check in was told they had no two bed rooms but “luckily” they had one cancellation so I would still have a room, but a single bed for two adult men to share. Due to other events in the area we were stuck. Asked for a roll away bed and they said they didn’t have them. They claimed to be over booked, poor management in my opinion.

Parking and the loudness over my head. Called a couple times about my tv not working and they didn’t think that was a big deal.

Staff was very helpful. We had an outlet that was needed between the beds that didn’t work.They came up immediately to assist and when they couldn’t repair it, they switched our rooms and assisted us move our belongings. The maintenance staff went to front desk got us new room keys-so we didn’t have to do a thing. There are fresh soft cookies at front desk.

Good location right off the highway. The staff I talked to were very helpful and professional. Room was clean and the room was good size. A/C worked well, and wasn't too loud when running. The only real complaint was the pillows. They were exceptionally flat, even for most hotels I've stayed in.

Kids were excited to use the pool but it was closed on the day we were going to let them swim

The staff was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We would not hesitate to stay there again. The whole inn was very clean. Love that coffee was available, not just at breakfast. We also enjoyed the pool. We did enjoy our stay and would recommend them to everyone.

The room was spacious and very clean. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom/shower very nice! All staff we came in contact with were very courteous and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel for your stay!

Breakfast was great, the staff was SO accommodating! We needed and extra room, and we needed a late checkout. The Manager was so nice and took care of all of our needs! This was my third stay in about 1.5 years and I will definitely be back again!!

Welcomed in, very loud underneath us. It was a birthday party with lots of kids. Wanted to swim and the pool was very cloudy with a lot of stuff floating in it. Will stay next door next month.

Close to freeway 80 makes it easier for quick get off and on travel road trip. Hotel is clean. Only problem is clogged toilet and slow drain, problem has been reported. Everything is good.

Stay at hotel was fair nothing to brag about . The hotel had a pool rep at desk stated it was closed for some reason after we asked about it only to find several other guests were permitted to use pool didn’t make sense at all . Unlikely that we return to stay again. Unfriendly front desk staff.

We had the best customer service ever especially from one other managers is he was pregnant and super helpful

It was a quick check in and the room was clean, but when you first walk in, the carpet had stains all over and there was something smeared on the floor that didn’t get cleaned up until morning. The pool was small, which is fine, but the water was so COLD! It was not enjoyable and you couldn’t stay in it for long because it was so cold! Breakfast was not good! They had a variety to offer, but were out of so many things. No syrup, pepper, or milk are a few. The excuse was that there was a large group that wiped them out the weekend before. The waffle batter ran out about 20 minutes before breakfast was done and she washed it and put it away instead of refilling. We had a long trip and stayed in many different places, and this breakfast time was by far the worst experience. I would not stay here again.

Hotels.com booked us in a room with only a queen size bed. So three people ended up sleeping on the floor.

Nice Fairfield Inn outside of Chicago.

The facility was new and modern. Room was clean and spacious. The staff seemed to be a little hassled to have to work. I don’t want to have to ring a bell to get help because the staff is always missing from the desk. The accommodations were nice but I stayed at the hotel next door the following night and the “experience” part of it was so much better.

I checked into Fairfield Inn on Wednesday July, 2 2025 and was asked if l needed House Keeping during my stay and said l did. But l did not receive House Keeping service until Sunday July 6, 2025, after inquiring 2 previous times. Also the hotel AC unit in the lobby leaked my entire stay. I had to take my trash out my almost entire stay. Also the first floor Ice machine leaked half of my stay.

Can’t believe we had to pay to park in your parking lot. Big disappointment!!!!

We had another amazing stay! We were welcomed back, with a hand written note, water and chocolates! How gracious! Once again, great service, the kitchen staff was very helpful, front desk services are wonderful! My favorite front desk worker, I believe her name is Shawna, had great recommendations and helped us get settled in our room quickly and efficiently. I will definitely be back again! My 84 y/o Mother loves this Hotel! Only recommendation would be to add grab bars in the showers, and maybe a non slip mat or paint or something to the shower floors.

Front desk staff was professional and friendly. Room was pristine. Only thing that was not cool was that the next morning I was awakened by kids in the hallway playing soccer. Thats right, 3 or 4 of them kicking the ball hitting against the wall, did not hit my room door but they were hollering hooting having a good ole time. Looked to be like 9 or 10 so lil dudes. I did not feel like getting irrate on some lil kids and it was already 830am and I said to myself any parent that allows their kids to play kick ball up and down the hallway inside a very nice hotel, I'm not getting involved in that crap! I took a shower and left earlier than I had planned, all good. Other than that it was a nice hotel and I would stay there again.

Check was quick and easy. The room was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. Breakfast was hot and delicious. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly and hospitable. Only thing missing was a laundry area. But will definitely stay again!

Enjoyed our stay. The room was cleaned twice during our 6 night stay which was nice since most hotels don’t do services like that anymore. Nice staff too. Will stay again.

Only suggestions: accessible rooms should have bars to grab in the shower area, and a bar next to the toilet. In addition, the beds are extremely high. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend staying here. Last but not least, close to the highway, and there was food very close by.

The bed was comfy. The pillows were awesome. The gentleman at the front desk was helpful and friendly. We really like this hotel. It's modern and clean.

Carpet in room 219 has several large stains on the floor, the showers makes a loud noise through the walls of the restroom, the towels were a dingy white and the elevator was broken. This hotel definitely didn’t meet the standard of a Marriot.

Nobody was there for check-in. There was a number to call but nobody answered. The staff was nice enough but not very engaging, didn’t seem like they were interested in having guests even upon check-out. Window was not lockable. Tons of construction around the area and not great signage for where to go. Overall disappointing and definitely not worth the money!

Hard to find light switches. The room is ok but it’s not very private. I have to unplug their appliances to plug in my computer.

Traffic noise from outside the hotel at my 3rd floor room window or HVAC unit was unusually loud as if there were a panel or insulation missing. - - The sink would not drain properly. The room was clean and comfortable. I will stay here again.

Room was great! Only complaint I have is that the televisions were a bit tough to figure out and the volume was out of control. Took us about 30 min to get things sorted out.

Charged for parking which is BS. Expedia has free parking. Phones are garbage, people can't call you and the front desk can't transfer either. Useless. And the front desk help... less than pleasant.

The staff was friendly but overwhelmed and not always available when needed. The condition of the room was old and the building, was very worn down. The unfinished wall by the pool and the condition of the tiles around the pool were poor.

We were there for 2 nights. Housekeeping did not come in during our stay - we were used to housekeeping coming in daily to change towels. Otherwise the stay was great.

Overall it was a good stay, the facility is clean and staff was friendly. However, we went specifically because of the heated pool/hot tub (hot tub was shown in pictures) and the pool floor was dirty, cold, and no hot tub at all.

Very nice staff, room was clean and it was a good room. Microwave in the room which was nice and had full size shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the room which was convenient and looked to be possibly locked closed which makes it feel more hygienic. Wish there was a hot tub and just wish they had more breakfast, there were several options but we came down about 8:45am and a lot of the hot option were empty or down to the last scoop, not sure if it’s serve till gone so that may have just been our mistake for not being there earlier but the staff was very nice from check in to check out so I was very happy.

Wonderful stay! The staff was excellent and very friendly. They made sure we had all that we needed through the whole stay. The beds were comfortable and everything was very tidy. Our family very much enjoyed the continental breakfast and were ecstatic to find that there were specific gluten free options. We always bring gluten free food in case while traveling and never had to dip into it. Very much recommend!

No pool no breakfast

Checked in after a long drive; elevator was broken; no notice on website. Only room on 3rd floor; had to wait through a complaint call with front desk guy; seemed overwhelmed. He finally hung up but keep researching the issue while I stood there. Had to ask him to just check me in and finish his problem solving later. He agreed. Bad hip and back and had to lug my bag up 3 flights of stairs after waiting. I grabbed a juice on the way up and thought he comped it….to my surprise it is on my bill. Not a good experience.

However, when I tried to get a refund, a different manager told expedia we had tried to sneak pets in and not to approve a refund. I had to spend like 2 hours on the phone and wait several days for the kind, professional manager I had interacted with to be in and approve the refund

Had to change rooms because the handicapped room we were given was in terrible shape. Pool was turned into storage, rooms were just kind of clean. No laundry facilities.

This hotel was amazing, comfortable, friendly. The only hotel I've been to that has a greeting with my name on the T.V. screen. Great breakfast. Wished the pool was open for the kids. But it was the best hotel I've stayed in Joliet this far.

I got stuck in the elevator, and the heater was broken.

Pool was unusable and that was the whole point of our stay.

There was NO hot water both mornings i tried to shower. This was very upsetting. You would think a hot shower is basis when paying over $100 dollars per night. I wont ever be staying at the Fairfield inn ever again. I will also tell my family and friends dont stay there unless they like cold showers. It was a aweful experience!

The first day was ok. The second day the supervior Amanda was very unprofessional and should not be in this business. She was not a kind or friendly person to me. She would not refund me for that second day when she loud talk me. Police was called and I did talk to him office Brook. He had to tell her to stop yelling at me that there are other people that their was other people here at the hotel. She walked away in auger when ask for papers on my dogs that was already care for. she took sometime before coming back with papers she had redid them. When I call her out she got loud and ask officer if he was done he stated yes and she walked away in auger. I did not like my stay I will never stay there again if that supervior Amanda is still there. I would like my refund back on my stay there

It was a good stay even though it was being remolded.

The property is undergoing significant renovations. All floor are disrupted. Common areas in lobby are closed.Construction noise and dust disrupt the property.

This property is undergoing a badly needed gutting and updating. It’s in very poor condition. I would not have booked had I known. The photos do not look like the actual facility.

The hairdryer catching on fire was a horrible experience room being extremely hot and just the overall cleanliness of the room was Abysmal

There was ongoing renovation work so the place was loud during the day and dirty in the elevator and hallways. I didn't get the type of room I asked for too.

Guy at front desk was not approachable. Very bland. Hallways, carpet in the main corridors was filthy. Especially the elevator. Out hotel carpet was very nasty. The bathroom floors had hair and dirt. Tub was dirty. Had a loud noise/ boom that went off throughout the night that kept my daughter up. She had a track meet the following day and was unable to get adequate rest. I do not recommend this hotel and will not be back if and when I am in the area.

The overall of the room wasn't good. The carpet was very damp in the entire room, broken tiles on the bathroom floor. The window was fogged up the entire time and the window curtains were either dirty or had mold on them.

No idea why this hotel received low ratings. The room was clean and smelled clean, the service was great and friendly and the location was perfect - right off the interstate and walking distance to several places to eat. Would stay again.

It is right off I-80. The a/c was not working and being on the ground floor did not want to leave my window open all night. Saw other windows open on the higher floor, guessing it was not on for the entire hotel. Did not sleep well in the warm stuffy room.
