Free on-site parking is perfect. Bedroom was clean. Cold breakfast was simple and limited. Hotel is under renovation. Friendly staff.

My family stayed here (2 adults and 2 kids) in the 2 double bed room. Beautifully renovated room and bathroom. While this hotel is only 2 stars it is the perfect stay if you’re driving to NYC. The neighborhood is safe, the subway is walkable, and the parking is free. You can cut through the mall to get to/from the subway but the mall closes at 9 pm. You can easily walk around the mall for the same distance. Everything was super clean, no bugs as mentioned in previous reviews. Yes, it’s under construction but I also didn’t hear any construction noise. Surprisingly I didn’t hear much noise from passing cars. Highly recommend!

Staff was great and the place was clean and rooms were nice. It was also great to have parking. Nothing. Everything was good.
- 2/5
It was super close to a train station so moving around was extremely easy. The room was clean. It had an spacious parking space and there were food options at a walk distance. The room was extremely small, there was no central air conditioning system, and the window ac unit didn't cold down the room that good, also the unit was extremely loud. The "included breakfast was also kind of disappointing. Honestly the price was to high for what was offered. Maybe at a lower price does things would have not matter but at that price point, more is expected.

Though the property was under construction, we were warned via email before showing up an knew what to expect. Rooms were clean and tidy. Perfect hotel for adventures in NYC and Jersey. PATH is a quick 10 minute walk and lots of places to eat near the hotel within walking distance. Traveling from AZ, this is the second time we’ve stayed here in the past 7 years, we’ll definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Very close to New York main area, the rooms are a little small, but all rooms are small in New York and New Jersey, a lot of steps to office and everything, but again that is New York and New Jersey is a lot of walking. I am semi disable and a lot of walking is hard on me, but I want to do things like everyone else so I push myself, but I am sure when they’re remodeling is done they will have possibly a ramp for the first floor, but for now it is not very handicap accessible but a very nice place to stay to see the Statue of Liberty and or go to New York, it is very close to the subway, we Uber and it was very convenient to just let them drive us to Central Park and then we just gotta Uber back to this hotel because parking is free, nowhere in New York is their free parking for your vehicle and we have a big excursion van so we did not want to haul it around. But it was worth staying here and Uber too locations we wanted an Uber back to the hotel to spend the night

Please guys, make sure you do not book this hotel. I stayed here with my family and had a very disappointing experience. We paid around $500 for our stay, but the service was far below expectations. * We requested extra towels multiple times, but the staff became rude and told us we could only have two towels at a time and would need to return them before getting more. * We stayed for two nights and called three times for room cleaning, but nobody came to clean the room. * Breakfast was supposed to be available from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. We arrived around 9:00 AM, well within the scheduled time, but there was almost nothing left. When we asked about it, we were simply told to eat whatever was available. * The rooms are very small. * Housekeeping service is poor. * No dental kit or basic amenities were provided. * Overall customer service was disappointing and unprofessional. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone traveling with family. There are much better options available for the price. Save your money and look for another hotel with better service and hospitality. ⭐☆☆☆☆

Helpful staff, clean rooms, free parking. Currently undergoing renovations, so there was that. But no noise regarding renovations to worry about. PATH subway is a bit of a walk, but very reasonable.

Location to the event we were attending It had a very dingy smell upon entering, more like bates hotel , narrow hallways, you could literally stretch your arms out and touch both sides of the walls, location was very close to the event we were attending and was allowed to check in alil after noon instead of 3 but although i had been communicating via app regarding early checkin when I arrived the individual whom checked me in felt a need to say well check in isn’t until 3 i stated im aware of that and was told we could do so early because the event we were in town for started at 1pm , then she says we needed to pay $75 for a cleaning fee if anything were damaged etc. this was definitely not the type of hotel setting i would hve chosen if i had known the amount of traffic from people hanging out around the hotel, we actually took our luggage back to the car because we didn’t feel safe leaving it there while we were gone and the following day we went to our car to bring our luggage in to get changed then we checked out early meaning 8am.The mattress felt as if you were sleeping on cardboard , there was a long strand of blk hair on one of the bathroom towels, we actually only used the towels to put on the bathroom floor because the floors weren’t clean as it could have been, i took pictures of the room upon checking out for my records as do with any hotel stay. If your looking for quality stay , updated rooms, cleanliness this definitely would not be the place.

It is too expensive for a hotel without even an elevator. Poor quality breakfast, with no table or chairs to sit and eat.

Great place super clean, like spotless clean and new tile in our bathroom. The room felt brand new they really did a great job. The office lady's where so nice. And the breakfast had the best crossonts ever. It is a short walk to the path station that took us out to the World Trade Center. We loved staying here.

Location was great. Tasty coffee for breakfast. No record
- 5/5
Room clean and comfortable. Bathroom top-notch, a good amount of space. I didn't get to sample the breakfast but whoo-whee that bed was comfy. Thank you! OHHHHHHH, the most important thing and reason I chose this one-- PARKING is included. Other hotels were charging $50 and up per DAY for parking. No no no no. Would stay again. Thanks Holland! Bonus points for the perfect sized ironing board (I did bring my own iron though-- gotta stay fresh.) Kid you not, girl at the event walks past and whispers "I like that shirt". Wrinkle-free baby. Thanks Holland ;)
- 5/5
Location was 5 min. walk to the path with many stores nearby. Parking was free and easy to park, very safe. Staff was amazing!!! Anything we needed. Breakfast was ok, cheerios, milk, fresh muffins and fresh donuts, apples, coffee and hot tea. Enjoyed our stay and will stay again.
- 5/5
I love this hotel. Although it is currently under renovations, therefore a slightly lesser experience than I’m accustomed to.
- 4/5
Super convenient to take the train to downtown Manhattan. Felt very safe. The free breakfast is very disappointing. It is set up in an empty hotel room with very limited seating and choices. There was water, orange juice, coffee, croissants, sugar donuts and muffins. Jam but no butter and apples. The hotel is very walkable to a liquor/beer store, gas stations for snacks, Burger King and McDonald’s, restaurants/ Pub. Would certainly consider this site if we were in the Manhattan area again.

Overall our stay was good. The staff was very helpful with working with us for our very late check in. The room was clean and well stocked. The only thing was that the provided breakfast was very small, just some muffins and coffee mainly and there are no elevators. Also, be prepared for lots of traffic around the property, which can be noisey.

We booked this last minute for the marathon because our original hotel was too far. The staff was so accommodating and helpful. The outside doesn’t look like much but the inside was very nice. They moved breakfast to be earlier for the race, free parking and a short distance to the start line. When my daughter got injured they had ice all prepared waiting for anyone who needed it. They thought of everything.
- 5/5
Property will be nice when renovations complete. Very closer to exchange mall
- 5/5
We were in for the Jersey City marathon on an overnight stay. Can’t say enough about the staff, knowledgeable and friendly. Made us feel very comfortable.
- 5/5
Love it! Free parking.
- 5/5
It was under renovation during our stay. But nothing was messy. Everything was clean and well maintained. The room was better than my expectations. I liked the breakfast. There was enough parking. Would recommend this.
- 5/5
Old building, but the rooms were immaculate. It’s very clean and smells really nice. The bathroom very nice, seems newly renovated. Staff weee helpful. They’re doing remodel it got loud when we did our mid afternoon break in our rooms. But we weee gone most of the day so it wasn’t a big deal. Close to fast foods and close to the freeway. Very worth it for the price. I will definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
All ok!!
- 3/5
Great location and clean! Very QUIET - surprising as it is right next to a major 6 lane road heading to the tunnel into New a York from New Jersey… Very old motel - it was in the midst of renovations to the general area - but it needs a lot of upgrades and work.
- 0.5/5
The rooms are pretty small. Beds are much smaller than standard queen size.
- 3/5
We were not told that the property was undergoing a major renovation. They are installing an elevator in the building which is impacting noise levels, common area access and general ambiance. It was noisy. In addition, the safe in my room did not work, the shower door did not open properly, and my key card had to be reprogrammed 3 times. On the plus side, the staff is super friendly.
- 3.5/5
Smelled moldy. Very humid in the hallway.
- 5/5
The staff, especially Natalya, were incredibly helpful and kind to us during our stay. The parking and breakfast were great. I would recommend this hotel to all of my friends.
- 4/5
They are doing renovations to the hotel. Signage was clear to access lobby. Staff was courteous and all was as expected. We chose this hotel for the convenience of a late night in NYC without having to pay NYC hotel prices. We were able to get to the hotel within 15 min. Easy ride. No frills hotel but served the purpose. Will definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
I've had better breakfast options before. That was a disappointment. Finding a place so close to NYC at the price I paid was a slight relief
- 4/5
Great location
- 4/5
This is a good economical place that includes parking. Unfortunately they were under construction for remodeling so the property was a little messy. I would stay there again. The bed was comfortable and the room was acceptable. Nothing fancy but the price reflects that. It is right by the Holland tunnel so it was easy getting an Uber to shoot over into New York.
- 5/5
Clean, modest accomodations. Loved room and staff. Continental breakfast had fresh bakery items each morning. The free parking is a much appreciated perk. Currently undergoing renovations, but it was not a disruption for our visit. Convenient walking path to the PATH subway system, taking you directly into NYC. Will def. stay again if we travel to NYC.
- 5/5
Rooms are simple and clean and the breakfast is surprisingly good, with Fruit, Crossiant and Muffin as well as cereal and Coffee. This is my 5th stay and I will return.
- 3.5/5
The location is good, beds were comfortable, nice updated bathrooms. The Rate per night is too much as compared to other hotels. The Breakfast was not up to the mark.
- 5/5
Clean, helpful, accommodating! Our favorite place to stay for NYC visits!
- 4/5
The room was clean. The beds are too small for a couple to sleep comfortably.Staff was nice. The hotel was under construction, which started at 8 AM. There is free parking and the continental breakfast was pastries, juice coffee, and apples. No ice machine. Burger King and McDonald’s are basically next door. It was a 10 minute walk to the Newport subway station, which takes you to World trade center. Since I drove here and the parking was free I would probably stay here again. If I was flying in, I probably would just stay right in New York.
- 5/5
The location of Holland Hotel is 12 mins walk to the Newport PATH train station. The room is clean and the staff are helpful.
- 5/5
We loved this stay so much I almost don’t want to share it! Such a great location. We had a great time!
- 5/5
Having free parking was a huge plus. The hotel was clean and we had what we needed. Breakfast options were limited, but baked goods were fresh. Staff was kind and courteous and will definitely stay there again
- 4.5/5
Well not everything is 10 out of 10 because it is under maintenance, but I bet after it it'll be great
- 3/5
The location was good and parking was free which was a plus. But the hotel itself needs renovation. It seems to be in the process of getting it when half of the rooms on the floor were remodeled. Breakfast was very minimum.
- 5/5
I have stayed here many times before and had a great experience.h
- 1.5/5
Close to Manhattan. The drain to shower didn't work. I had to stand in water after my wife had showered to do mine - super fast before water over flowed the rim! Also, insane person next to us set off his microwave alarm and woke us up at 2 AM with his damn beeping! Had to go to 'front desk" to get it sorted out. Then couldn't get to sleep after all that crap. 2 or so hours of sleep for 240 bucks a night?
- 5/5
Free Parking, Free Parking. Every other hotel in the area and in NYC will charge you at least $40 a day extra for parking. Donut and coffee was free also so I save even more money. Starbuck's and Dunkin kinda expensive these days. Noise from the construction, but it's to expected. The staff said they are adding an elevator.
- 2/5
Serious construction going on. Hammering THROUGH THE NIGHT! Told me they would give me a refund of half my nights stay for this and did not. They did more me to a better room, but there was a bug in the sheets. Make sure not to be streetside or near the construction if you need to stay here. Breakfast was nothing but 1 type of doughnut and some muffins and juice. Not close to what is pictured.
- 5/5

They are currently remodeling. We got in late from a flight so it was dark and we couldn’t see very much. While we were walking trying to find the door for the office I slipped on ice and bruised my leg. It was just a confusing set up at the time but i’m sure after construction it will be better.

Just one thing, the fire alarm all night and morning, malfunction. But honestly the hotel was nice, clean and affordable with walking distance to subways. Thank you
- 5/5
The room was perfect! There was a miscommunication with a blanket vs. extra bed sheets that was remedied immediately. All of the staff encountered were very hospitable and kind. The king bed was comfy, the bathroom was clean and housekeeping was accommodating when we needed extra towels. The complimentary breakfast was acceptable for diabetics- aside from the typical Continental Breakfast, they offered yogurt- which was perfect for us. The subway (PATH) is less than 1/2 a mile walk and very convenient. We would stay here again!
- 5/5
Clean and well maintained, friendly staff. Easy check in and out.

The room was clean and a comfortable temp when we arrived. They provided plenty of towels for a family of 4. They were very kind as well. My only complaint

Our go to place to stay Got to love the free parking! Staff is wonderful

Room had bedbugs and hotel refused refund. Hotel staff very loud early in the morning and slam doors and talk loudly in the hallway at 8am. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The general manager saw the bugs in my room and still refused a refund. Avoid this hotel.

Room was clean and decent. Staff was helpful as extra time needed for checkout due to winter storm as well.
- 5/5
We loved this hotel! It was right outside of the tunnel, very close to the city, and it was a convenient stay for our trip. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff was friendly, and we are definitely planning to stay here when we return this summer!
- 5/5
Good convenient place to stay for visiting NY
- 4/5
Convenience to amenities. And good value for money.
- 5/5
Carpets are a little lower, but the rooms are overall OK for an overnight stay. Staff is very friendly. 24 hours hot water and coffee. Morning breakfast is also good but wish there was at least a small microwave to warm up the croissants. Parking right outside the hotel and it’s free so that is awesome. Right next to the hauling tunnel so getting into New York is also very easy. Got it for about 300 bucks a night which seems to be very affordable for the area. Overall will stay there again if cost is around the same.
- 5/5
What a wonderful surprise I will return on subsequent visits.
- 5/5
Nice continental breakfast with croissants and pastries. Walk to PATH train Newport Station through mall was fine. A great option for driving to New York City area and taking transit into Manhattan (but a little tricky to find).
- 5/5
Staff was excellent they will guide you to New York and what transport to take to avoid traffic. Location is excellent you are out of New York so and near the highway so it’s easy to go home.
- 5/5
Front Desk people super friendly, all smiles!!!
- 5/5
They offered free parking, which is a practically a unicorn in nj/nyc. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast in the morning was perfect! We will be back soon! ♡

The Holland hotel is convenient to the Holland tunnel. Rooms are small and dated, but functional. Breakfast consist of coffee and a few choices of muffins or yogurt. No warm options. If you want that, walk to the Burger King next-door.
- 5/5
Yes room very clean, staff very helpful
- 4/5
Disappointed that there wasn’t fresh towels offered for our stay. Other than that, this was a good value to stay near NYC at Christmas time.
- 5/5
Very clean rooms, freindly staff, and easy access to NYC
- 5/5
Very convenient
- 4/5
As acomodações e o serviço são bons, mas nada de especial. A área do café da manhã é muito pequena e poucos assentos são disponíveis. A localização é ótima. De um modo geral eu estou satisfeito.
- 5/5
After check in we went for a walk to find someting to eat and find something to do and ended up at the mall just around the corner. Bonus! The following day we walked about 10 minutes to the PATH station for an easy and cheap trip to 33rd Street to see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Did I already mention convenient?! Shout out to Harry and Quinton! All of the staff were friendly and more than helpful! Will stay again!
- 5/5
I did not expect that cleanliness in a hotel. I feel like im home. Excellent stay.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly, rooms were VERY clean, quiet for being next to the tunnel. Breakfast as really good. Walking distance to Dunkin and a couple corner stores.
- 5/5
Friendly staffs
- 5/5
It was a complete relief to arrive at a well-staffed, courteous, professional, organized, and spotless facility after a long drive. The room had everything we needed; we used the iron, the hair dryer, the shower, the TV, the refrigerator, and the beds were so comfortable. The front desk staff were so welcoming and provided us with complimentary maps, oriented us to the train stations, and welcomed us to leave the car parked in the lot while we explored New York City. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer. The breakfast was excellent, the coffee was perfect, the baked goods from the local baker were the most delicious, and all the guests were friendly and courteous about sharing the space. Great vibes all around. We will tell all of our friends and be back soon!

super clean very quiet place and close to shops plus free parking
- 4/5
- 5/5
Room was amazing. Breakfast was not a lot of options. Pastry, cereal, or muffin
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Love staying here
- 5/5
Parking was safe and convenient, walk to Path station was quick, many amenities within walking distance in the mall including food options and convenience store.
- 5/5
The room was clean and the bed/pillows were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. On top of that the price was low and it was easy to get to NYC from there. We'll be coming back to this hotel in the future whenever we want to visit Manhattan.
- 5/5
I’ve been staying here for years and they only keep getting better.
- 5/5
very good and thanks for the stuff
- 5/5
This is a great place to stay when anyone visiting NY with the free parking, walkable to closest metro and quick access to anywhere in NY Manhattan and beyond.
- 5/5
We arrived very early expecting to just park our car and head to the city. We were very pleased to be offered a room & check in! Very kind front desk staff. Clean room. Walking distance to the Path station.
- 5/5
Clean room. Reasonable walk to the Path train. Friendly staff. Free parking. Excellent budget hotel.
- 5/5
Clean room and bath, good breakfast and friendly staff.
- 4/5
Nice staff, clean lobby and room, overall good time. Shower was a bit tough to operate but staff helped.
- 5/5
Very convenient, clean room, quick and easy check in. Breakfast was a bonus and parking was a snap.
- 2/5
1. Room: very small room. The beds are small for 2 people as well 2. Breakfast: Did not have much choice. No microwave or toaster near the breakfast area. So, you have to take things to your room if you want something heated. No place to sit near the breakfast area. 3. No elevator: we were on the 3rd floor and had to carry the bags all the way up the stairs. I did not expect this after our long drive. 4. No drinking water or a fountain on the property. We had to walk to the neighboring store for water.
- 4/5
The hotel staff was nice and so were the rooms. My only complaint is the old smell of the room
- 5/5
Pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness, ample free parking, ease of check in, breakfast choices & overall stay. Our new go to for quick trips into NYC.
- 4/5
The room was clean but there was no elevator so i didn't bring in all my items from the car. I didn't have everything so I got a good night sleep.
- 5/5
Yes to everything
- 5/5
Our stay in hotel were without any problems..
- 1/5
My stay was fine overall, the room was clean and location convenient, but the management was unhelpful when I had to leave early due to an unexpected work reassignment. I communicated clearly, provided documentation, and even involved Expedia, but the manager was dismissive from the start. I understand policies are policies, but a little empathy and professionalism go a long way.
- 4/5
Cons: Outdated and noisy, especially when the radiator heat is on.
- 5/5
Older property but very well maintained. The breakfast was basic continental but the quality was good. Staff was all very helpful and friendly. Parking was fine. The PATH station was an easy 10 minute walk from the hotel.
- 4/5
Surprisingly varied pastries and cereals for breakfast. Convenient location. Very clean throughout and great value for money in the location
- 5/5
Loved the “old school” feel with modern amenities (esp free WiFi). Staff was excellent and friendly. Would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
The hotel was great for an overnight stay to visit surrounding areas (mainly NYC). The staff was friendly and accommodating and even let us check in an hour earlier than planned. It was super convenient to the train to NYC and parking was free as they have their own lot which seemed pretty safe all things considered. We plan to return to this hotel for a more extended stay next time! Highly recommended!
- 5/5
Although it was a journey into Manhattan, it only took max of 40 minutes and I would choose to stay in this hotel if I was visiting again.
- 5/5
Great location including free parking, less than 10 from the Path train station going to WTC or 33 street.
- 5/5
The parking area was safe. The hotel is very close to the entrance to the Holland tunnel, but it was not noisy at all! The employees were extremely helpful and there is a pastry and coffee and juice breakfast for free! The beds were extremely comfortable. The only downside is that there is no elevator. We had a lot of luggage and my older parents staying with us so it was a little tricky to get everything to the room, but the staff really helped with that.
- 1/5
Don't choose this hotel. This was the worst hotel (?) I had ever stayed. Dirty, smelly, poor customer service, terrible shower, not even cheap... I so regretted choosing this hotel for free parking. Not worth it. Go any other brand name hotel.
- 5/5
Quick check in and check out, clean hotel, friendly staff, free parking and walkable distance to subway and shopping mall
- 5/5
Great place to stay, staff was great and around 13mins walk to the PATH. Parking was great too
- 4/5
Clean room
- 5/5
In walk distance from the train to midtown at Manhattan. I highly recommended this hotel if you want to save money receive free parking for your car, and to be short distance from Manhattan.
- 3/5
Very sound proof for being so close to the street. Reasonably sized and adequate parking. Worked as a spot to get to and from NYC without paying crazy prices.
- 4/5
Not particularly business friendly but was not there for business. Did not have a lot of interaction with staff but again it was not necessary.
- 5/5
Clean rooms and a very central location.
- 4/5
My stay was good for one evening, close to my destination. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I saw no elevators for the floors, the breakfast was light, and there was free parking. The only downfall was that my room door never locked.
- 4/5
The room was clean and the free parking is a great extra. The staff are all very friendly. Would stay here again
- 5/5
Not many restaurant options were walkable but continental breakfast was excellent. Room was extremely clean.
- 2/5
The room was clean but in the basement and a bit damp. There is no elevator at this property!
- 5/5
Room was so quiet in the busy city. Friendly, warm feeling from staff and great breakfast on a cute front patio.
- 5/5
Room was clean, comfortable and I was very happy with my stay
- 5/5
It’s an older building but very clean and the staff were welcoming and courteous. The free parking is a plus in an area that otherwise has few other parking options. It’s very convenient for getting on major roads.
- 5/5
Easy check-in with very friendly and helpful staff. I made the statement that we chose the perfect place to stay because we can do a NYC tour and leave our car at the hotel even when we check out.
- 5/5
fantastic place for stay, is very easy to travel to NY, have nearly the train Station.
- 5/5
Ideal location, clean rooms, great staff, a bit dated but not a factor at all. Really enjoyed my stay.
- 5/5
Good place, breakfast place could have been a bit bigger.
- 4/5
The easy parking!
- 5/5
Upon arrival, the front desk was very supportive and exceptional when we mentioned we were there for a family wake and funeral. Rooms were clean and having parking was ideal. The mall was walking distance. Would stay again.
- 4/5
Convent place and free parking is good. Zoom is a bit old and breakfast very simple.
- 5/5
Staff was awesome
- 5/5
Friendly staff.
- 4/5
Good property if you want to commute to NYC for a week trip.
- 5/5
Really nice
- 4/5
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel is average, but location is great. We were able to walk to the path station. We felt safe walking back to the hotel late at night. Easy to get in and out of Jersey City from the hotel. We had a view of the Empire State building from our window. Quick easy drive to Liberty State Park.
- 3/5
The room was extremely cramped, clearly meant for two but fitted for four. Breakfast was disappointing with only basic ready-to-eat items and no hot food options.
- 5/5
Very nice and reminded me of a boutique hotel.. No worries because you have to pass front desk to access your room..
- 5/5
Harry was fabulous! Loved being able to park on the property.
- 4/5
Comfortable, basic hotel well located for travel into NYC. Staff was great..
- 5/5
It was clean and quiet. PATH transit was close by. Free parking. The breakfast was good to get the day started. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel everyone is very friendly close to the train station to take to New York I would stay there again
- 5/5
Perfect
- 5/5
So clean, comfortable, reasonably priced, great location and Harry is the best!
- 4/5
Convenient location and parking, better than paying to stay and park in Manhattan.
- 2/5
It is close to the tunnel to enter New York, but overpriced for the amenities and cleanliness.
- 5/5
Closer to NYC
- 5/5
Had a good stay there, lots of things within walking distance. There were some road and car noises and the walls are thin but other then that it was a good stay
- 5/5
This place was one of the most comfortable, convenient and friendly places we have ever had the good fortune to stay in, and we have stayed in many places around the world, from Airbnbs to 5 star resorts. Don’t be fooled by appearances, as what made it so memorable was all it offered that was most important for a great accommodation. It has all you would need at an Incredibly affordable price. The beds were comfortable, the complimentary breakfasts were perfect and the free parking was a definite bonus. Very convenient access to great amenities within walking distance…the PATH system to NYC, a huge shopping mall right next door, restaurants, gas stations, the Holland Tunnel and an absolutely gorgeous views of the Hudson harbour with breathtaking views of NYC from a lovely winding boardwalk within a 15 minute walk. The staff is particularly thoughtful and welcoming and are always happy to help make your stay a great one! I most highly recommend! 10+!!!
- 5/5
The property was well taken care of and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Harry the night desk clerk was very friendly and quite helpful in providing guidance for use of the PATH train to NYC
- 5/5
This hotel sit in a convenient location. The staff are friendly and helpful. And it’s about the only one with free parking in the area.
- 5/5
We had a room on the lower level and it was extremely quiet. Breakfast has a nice selection of pastries, cereal, muffins, tea and coffee, orange juice and water. Tea and coffee and hot chocolate were available all day but no water which would have been appreciated due to the very hot weather we had that week. Location was great, 10 minute walk to the Path station to Manhattan. Lots of eating options to walk to, including a supermarket a few minutes away. The hotel has a nice patio to enjoy breakfast however we wish that smoking on the patio was restricted during breakfast hours, not nice to eat and breathe in smoke! We also had no toiletries in the bathroom but we had bought our own so no biggie.Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend, especially for the free ample parking.
- 5/5
Great :)
- 3/5
The air conditioner smelled.
- 5/5
The hotel was conveniently located for us. Price was good.
- 4/5
The location was great. Our room/bathroom was very small but still comfortable. The breakfast was good. Our only problem was that we are older and there is no elevator so lugging the baggage up flights of narrow stairs was not enjoyable.
- 3/5
Welcoming environment, and was nice that there was parking
- 4/5
There room keys could use a upgrade as i have three keys and only one of them actually works. An i was accidentally charge for two night when i ask to extend my stay by one day. Other then those two thing it a very nice hotel. I definitely will stay here again the staff is great and very friendly
- 5/5
Very nice staff and the hotel was very clean, and the room was small but well pack with everything you need IE fridge, microwave, hairdryer, ironing board with iron, better than a 1000 a night hotel I’ve stayed at. Walking distance to restaurants, bar and Newport center mall was a two minute walk definitely staying there in the future again.
- 5/5
The room was small, but had Vintage charm. It was clean and had everything we needed for the night. It was close to parking for Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty ferry. Thank you for a good night sleep….
- 5/5
Love the free parking and the staff are wonderful! Close to the Path with good local food options
- 4/5
convenient
- 3/5
It was okay
- 5/5
Wonderful stay. Would recommend for sure.
- 4/5
The continental breakfast was good, but fruit choices were limited. The room was quiet and comfortable. The train was walking distance and travel to New York City was convenient.
- 5/5
Personal muy amable y esmerado en servir y hacer pasar un buen rato a los huéspedes
- 5/5
Great location for popping on the train and heading into the city, about a 15 min walk to the PATH station. Lower level rooms (floor 1) are garden level, which I assume lead to the slightly musty smell. Other than that, gorgeously clean, helpful and friendly staff, and I would def stay again!
- 5/5
Price was excellent for the location, staff was wonderful.
- 5/5
The Holland may not look like much but it was a hidden gem for us. Henry at the desk was wonderful at check in. The room was exceedingly quiet despite facing a very busy street. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was absolutely the cleanest hotel bathroom I've ever had (in the US at least). It was conveniently located for our plans (Metlife one night then NYC the next a.m.). Well stovked vending machine, free parking, AND noon check out. The only place I'd ding our stay was breakfast...pastry items (muffins and croissant) were very stale so we threw them out and ate at BK next door.
- 5/5
Prior to check in he let us inspect room as we were worried about bed bugs but let me tell you the room was spotless and beds were super comfy. Breakfast was free and had plenty of options. Parking was just as good with lots of room to park large pick up truck. Overall amazing. Will recommend this little gem to anyone hoping to visit Jersey City or NYC.
- 3/5
Location is amazing and paling is add on
- 5/5
The staff were very helpful and friendly!!! Convenient location!
- 5/5
Very good for family and convenience locations.
- 4/5
We stayed at this hotel three times for its price, convenience of parking, and short distance to the subway station. The space is rather restricted. The air conditioner is loud. They don’t clean your room every day unless you request.
- 5/5
I will go back in the future.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay and the staffs were amazing. The breakfast is superb, so many choices, the room and linens were clean. My son loss his wallet, left in the vending machine and the next day we asked from the reception and he had it back! This is our 2nd time to stay in this hotel and we definitely keep coming back!
- 5/5
Great customer service
- 5/5
Breakfast area is right in the office and gets really crowded. Pretty limited options. Room was nice and clean, cold a/c and comfortable bed. Stayed with my son for the Summer Slam 2025… L… A… Knight… YEAHHHH!
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast was provided. Close to shopping and restaurants, as well as public transportation to NYC. Free parking was a huge plus. A great place to stay!
- 5/5
It was convenient stay
- 2/5
I had booked two day stay going by the review.. Started with not so friendly receptionist who said I will have to wait for 1hr though check in was at 3:00Pm as per policy. I was with family, with 3 year old and driving from Toronto. After requesting him again, He then said he will do something in a tone that he’s doing great favour by letting me check in in time!!!. Entered the room with strong chemical odour, open door to let the smell go away.
- 5/5
It was a wonderful stayed!
- 5/5
great hotel and free parking was the best
- 5/5
Our stay was excellent.
- 4/5
Basic no frills hotel. Rooms are decent sized compared to Manhattan. 5 min walk from the Newport PATH makes commute very convenient.
- 4/5
Great location, breakfast had fresh baked goods not prepackaged items, bathrooms dated, but everything clean. Would definitely recommend!
- 5/5
The staff are amazing!! Rooms are very nice and clean
- 4/5
clean quaint..perfect for ahort stay. right next to holland tunnel. in walking distance to fast food restaurants
- 5/5
Me and my friends stayed for a night and we absolutely loved it, will book again next time!
- 5/5
The Holland Hotel has this really cool vibe. it's an old property, but they've kept it up so well. Everything has a nice vintage feel, but it's still super clean and well-maintained. One of the best things? It actually has its own parking lot, which is pretty rare around here. If you're looking for a place near NYC with parking and easy access to Manhattan via the PATH train, this spot is definitely worth checking out.
- 5/5
This was very close to NYC and Liberty Park. It was a nice walk to this attraction. Also, a 12 pm check out:-)
- 4/5
I always stay at this hotel when in Jersey city. The staff is always so nice and make the stay enjoyable. The hotel is also always clean, has a continental breakfast and free parking.
- 5/5
Check in was very friendly, Harry was very nice and helpful. The hotel room was very nice and clean! Torico ice cream was a nice 10 minute or so walk from the hotel, an absolute MUST TRY!! Other dining options close by as well. Will definitely return if ever in the area again. Thank you to all the staff for a great stay!
- 5/5
A great place to stay just outside NYC. Clean and friendly staff. Quiet area . Comfortable beds. Only downside I will say is that its about 15 min walk to PATH train and we went on a weekend when most lines dont run. The front desk assured me it would be fine. Got to the train and couldnt get a pass witb our credit card cash only and no atms in the area were working so had to take a Lyft ride into the city.
- 5/5
See above
- 3/5
Just ok no basic amenities in room .No hand soap .Not good shampoo.Breakfast was just basic .Parking is a plus .Staff is nice .
- 5/5
Clean!
- 1/5
There was weeds growing out of the shrubs.
- 5/5
Excellent location, central to everything you need. If you’re driving, free parking is a great bonus compared to most properties in the areas, which can charge very high additional fees for this. The air conditioning worked very well. There was a good size fridge and microwave. Basic continental breakfast. With this properly it’s all about location, and you can’t really beat it, if your a tourist in the area.
- 5/5
Breakfast was amazing with an outdoor patio, although there was little room to eat except in your room when the weather wasn't nice. The beds were cozy and the place was clean and quiet. I never questioned safety and it was great to have a huge parking lot.
- 5/5
Room had damp musky smell but was clean
- 3/5
Our stay was good overall. The staff was friendly, breakfast was standard for such properties, free parking and EV chargingstations. The only noticeable downside waa the smell in the room.
- 3/5
Check-in was okay but left me uneasy. Two friendly clerks were present; one seemed supervisory, asking the other to program my key. When he shared my room number, the second clerk questioned it, implying something was wrong with the room. The supervisor confirmed it, but this exchange made me feel undervalued as a customer, like I was being stuck in a subpar room. I didn’t speak up and headed to my room. The hotel’s layout—split by a first-floor lobby into left and right sides, with stairs up and down—was disorienting. At 3 pm check-in, nearly all room doors were open, with housekeepers everywhere and unrenovated staff areas exposed. It felt like a dungeon or housing project, not a $290/night hotel. My room, downstairs on the left, was disappointing. Cobwebs in the window forced me to close the shade, losing natural light and making 3 pm feel like 9 pm. The room’s condition was poor: chipped, rusting paint, gunk around faucet knobs, broken wicker baskets, and a sink stopper that didn’t close fully. These issues made the room feel neglected and far from the quality expected for the price. I expected a comfortable, well-maintained space, but this felt like a $125/night motel. The staff’s friendliness was overshadowed by the unprofessional check-in and the hotel’s rundown state. For $250/night, I expected far better upkeep and a welcoming atmosphere, not a sense of being shortchanged.
- 5/5
The hotel is 10/10 value for the money. Easy access to NYC either by car or train, friendly staff, a nice breakfast and a comfy room. I would stay here again
- 5/5
Good for a 1 night stay. Rooms are small but clean. Great breakfast and great price for the area, especially with parking included. Staff very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
We loved staying at this historic property! It was quiet, safe, and walkable to all we wanted to see in Jersey City. Would definitely stay there again!
- 5/5
Well maintained rooms. Friendly staff!
- 5/5
This was the best stay for us, and all our family members truly enjoyed it. In fact, the children were hoping to stay longer, but unfortunately, we had to leave by our hard stop on July 4th. The staff was very supportive, the breakfast options were excellent, the rooms were pleasant, and the daily room service—provided promptly on call—was outstanding. Overall, a wonderful place to stay.
- 5/5
Close to PATH station
- 5/5
The Holland Hotel is a hidden gem. Located yards away from the entrance to the Holland Tunnel, we were surprised that the room was quiet and there was literally no sounds of traffic. The breakfast buffet is great - fresh pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal, coffee, tea and juice. Finally the staff are kind and helpful. This is a great find! 😃
- 5/5
My adult child & I were visiting NYC and stayed here June 20-22, 2025. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The hotel was a little dated but very clean. The beds were comfortable, parking was FREE and the location and price were great. Even though we were right at the Holland Tunnel entrance, our room was very quiet. We didn't walk off the property, but it felt safe enough. A short Uber to the Grove St PATH station to get into the city.
- 5/5
Great location walking distance to shops and restaurants. Easy to get in and out of and plenty of parking. Hotel was clean and quiet. Staff was great.
- 4/5
Clean, conveniently located hotel for a decent price! The staff were excellent; when we had questions, they had answers. They had maps to give for the Path and helped us find our way around. Shout out to Harry!! The rooms were clean and the beds were perfect. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is the fact that they do not have an elevator- so if you have something heavy be prepared to go up or down a couple flight of stairs. Also, the breakfast didn't have many options and if you got there a little later in the morning everything was picked over and they do not restock it. Overall a great location near the Path. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay there again!
- 4/5
Great place to stay in jersey. Very convenient if you’re trying to take day trips to New York!
- 4/5
Would like to have more protein food such as eggs, sausages for breakfast.
- 4/5
just convenient
- 5/5
Very good location and breakfast
- 4/5
The staff is awesome. The breakfast spread is great for grab and go and they kept it out longer than breakfast hours. They also have a patio to sit and eat. We loved the free parking and that it was close to the tunnel and mall. The beds were a bit uncomfortable but overall it was a good hotel.
- 5/5
It got the job done, lovely hotel.
- 5/5
This is a terrific hotel in a good location with easy access to the PATH train station into NYC. I alway appreciate the comfort of the room, the friendliness of the staff, and price is definitely right!
- 5/5
Very nice!
- 5/5
Minutes. Price, quality, location is great, highly recommend
- 5/5
The whole place was very clean and the staff was pleasant and helpful. The beds were comfy and the pastries in the morning were phenomenal. I am very glad I stayed here.
- 5/5
It was a budget-friendly hotel, perfect for short stays.
- 5/5
The Holland Hotel really is the little gem I was hoping it would be! This was our first time visiting NYC and I was looking for a budget-friendly hotel in a good location. Happy to say that the Holland Hotel lived up to its great reviews! All the staff were very nice, but the one that stood out for us was Josh at the front desk. He was very kind and patient and helped us with directions on how to use the PATH train into the city. The hotel isn't fancy, but it's cute, clean, quiet and safe. We hope to be back in the near future as we had an amazing trip to NYC and fell in love with the city and also Jersey City has its own interesting vibe, restaurants, nightlife and shops. I had a wonderful and memorable birthday trip!
- 5/5
Loved the breakfast pancakes, bacon, and coffee was included in the stay. Walls were thin because I could hear the TV in the next room. Overall, I would stay here again. Loved the character of the main building.
- 5/5
Love the hotel clean an breakfast in a.m
- 5/5
We really liked this hotel, free breakfast and private bathroom unlike many options in NYC. Walkable to PATH trains, friendly staff. Only con was fluctuating water temperatures in the shower but don’t let that deter you.
- 5/5
Easy to get to the path
- 4/5
Great location
- 5/5
Excellent service
- 5/5
Staff is very polite and love the continental breakfast in the morning. Property is always kept clean.
- 4/5
Shower head was broken. Very clean and convenient location
- 5/5
Great value for price. Free parking and helpful staff.
- 5/5
Walkable distance to PATH station and shopping mall
- 5/5
A great location for us within sight of the Holland Tunnel and a ~22 min bike ride to Hoboken.
- 4/5
Good location for Marathon. Good breakfast and ready very early in AM!
- 5/5
This hotel is like a cute boutique hotel. Quiet and clean and the staff was helpful
- 5/5
Friendly staff, free parking- rooms are clean and quiet
- 5/5
When im in my room i juat turn the air on, but the hallways are very warm and when staff come out of the office into the hallway they let the doors slam and ita loud and wakes you up Staff is nice Breakfast is amazing Located to train station is great and walkable
- 5/5
Great affordable option. Staff was lovely, hotel is clean.
- 5/5
Check in was quick and easy. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly, professional and helpful. The hotel was just about half a mile from the start of the Jersey City Marathon so it was easy to get there. Plus they had a late checkout for only $50 more. Clutch. There’s also plenty of food options, the Newport PATH station and Newport Centre all within a 5-10 minute walk.
- 4/5
Easy checkin and convenient
- 5/5
The hotel is very clean and quiet! The staffs are friendly and the free parking is great!
- 5/5
Excellent service
- 5/5
Surprisingly impressed with this hotel! Have been and would recommend to others!
- 5/5
The staff is friendly, area is quiet, traffic is good.
- 5/5
good
- 5/5
Staff was nice, and the hotel was clean.
- 3/5
My husband and I never had a problem at this property but this time we were put in a room on the first floor and it was so noisy. Both rooms next to ours were full of children and it was really loud both nights we got no sleep. Then the second night the heat was not working and we were still dealing with it being really loud at late hours of the night. We got no sleep both nights.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Nice place to stay. Absolutely clean and near to downtown NYC. Decent Basic continental breakfast. Staff is very nice and friendly.
- 5/5
All good and
- 5/5
Close to the train to Manhattan. Front desk staff offered helpful directions. Basic hotel with basic breakfast but clean and the staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Very clean hotel and an exceptional staff.
- 5/5
Clean and they are friendly. Quiet place to stay
- 5/5
Good location, friendly staff, FREE PARKING….reasonable price!
- 1/5
Screwed up our entire day as we are tired and dragging now as we did get a good nights sleep? Also, the bathroom sink was disgusting
- 4/5
I like staying at the Holland Hotel. Free parking, great rate, friendly staff, and easy access to the city via PATH or Holland Tunnel. I’ve stayed on the upper floor in the past and it was great. Stayed on first floor this time (actually basement) and did not like it as much. Strange odor and only window was tiny and at ground level. Would recommend this hotel, but next time I will request upper level if possible.
- 5/5
Nice staff, nice rooms, decent price considering the location.
- 5/5
Great place to stay in. I didn’t hear the traffic that I expected to hear when staying.
- 4/5
Surprisingly clean, the area is sketchy, but the hotel was good
- 5/5
Good location, reasonable price, delicious bread and coffee, nice staffs
- 4/5
Friendly and comfortable.
- 2/5
Booked a two (2) day occupancy. When I came back to the room after the first day the room was not made up, no one had cleaned the room or toilet space. I complained to the front desk; I was told that the room was on a list of 'to be cleaned only by request'. I had never been informed of the need to request that my room be cleaned after the first day's occupancy. Very disappointing.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel. Room was clean and friendly staff. Hotel was quiet. Near by Jersey City night life, easily accessible to NYC via the tunnel or PATH train. I will be staying there on my next trip.
- 5/5
good
- 5/5
We love the Holland Hotel. It’s allowed us walking access to the PATH, a place to park when we drive in, and the ability to grab breakfast when we go out in the morning. It’s a dated hotel, but always clean. Very grateful to the hospitable staff!
- 3/5
The receptionist requested and recorded my credit card information even though I told him I had paid it online. This made me very uncomfortable and felt risky. His explanation was for security deposit reasons. I think I can make a security deposit when I check in, but recording customers’ credit card information is not a right thing! I have to cancel the credit card I used in this hotel. I should give 5 stars if my credit card information was not recorded.

Hotel is clean and well staffed. Everyone was more than helpful and concerned about the quality of our stay. Have stayed here several times and will return in the future.

We had were comfortable, woke up and we were on the way to our appointment. I think they could provide a bottle of water, but they had water in a vending machine. Breakfast was fine.

Great place with excellent service

I went to the front desk and told the desk guy what had happened. I asked him to please come to the room because I felt the GM was trying to be shady and collect money for false allegations. GM comes from back, interrupts us and says NO he’s not leaving the front desk! People are allowed to smoke outside per hotel policy. If your floor is on the first floor your ac/vent faces the area where people are allowed to smoke. So instead of taking the responsibility of not having a designated “smoking area” for the people outside smoking in turn causing rooms to smell of smoke due to poor management. GM wanted someone to blame for HIS poor managing!! Lastly there’s several rooms with no working heaters. Room 220 I checked in 18 degrees outside and no heat!! I had to prop my door open to get the hallway heat. I was given another room directly access (221 maybe) NO HEAT. GM wanted to play “let’s find a working heater” I suggested a working portable heater would be ok. I had things to do and places to go. Ridiculous service from a General Manager! The staff was outstanding! Helpful and considerate. The GM was absolutely terroble’

As advertised. Nice staff too

Can’t beat the price! Clean and well kept hotel. I had a small issue with the temp of my room but the staff was quick to rectify my issues. The night man and the men in the morning (I did not get names) were extremely nice and helpful. As a solo traveler I felt safe at the hotel and walking in the area. There’s food right next door and several convenient stores/gas stations in walking distance. The continental (plus) breakfast provided at the hotel was plentiful to get my day started. Pathway station is a quick short walk from the hotel as well. I would definitely book here again.

Second visit in three weeks. If you are going into NYC, you stay here. A 10-minute walk to a $3 PATH train ride into Manhattan while your car stays parked at the hotel for free, even after you check out. Staff is wonderful. Rooms are clean. It's an older building and it has some creaks and rattles, but the price is unbeatable and you get much more than you pay for.

Incredibly clean and quiet. Great Staff!!

Very family friendly and well located and safe area.

Third time staying here, always stay here when you want to visit NYC!

Cama muy comoda, ubicacion muy cerca del path, personal muy amable

This place is a great option when visiting NYC. Cheap, clean, safe, and staffed by nice, smart, people. But both beds in my room were in need of replacement. They have years of wear and tear from guests sitting on one side of the bed, wearing it down. It's drastic. Really. No hyperbole. But I will staty here again. All other factors make up for it.

Very good services

It’s the second time I stay in the Holland Hotel in very satisfied with the service and special with the location, do you have access to everything just walking.
- 5/5
We loved our stay in this hotel. It is really clean and the staff is friendly.
- 5/5
The hotel is very clean. Friendly staff, accessible to the Path train to get into NYC! They also have the most scrumptious pastries!
- 3/5
Very dated, staff couldn’t explain best way to get to the city, bed hard, small area for breakfast
- 5/5
Perfect for getting in and out of the city without the steep costs. As a solo business traveler, this place was perfect for a few nights。
- 5/5
I was very satisfied with my experience. The hotel lived up to the good reviews I had read before booking. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable, and the parking slot was really valuable. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and a great value for the price. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

The breakFast can be improved.
- 5/5
Convenient, clean, hospitable, location. Keep in mind on weekend path is not as frequent and not always right to newport station.
- 5/5
Great value for money. Personally, the only problem I had was the background traffic noise, some honking and police sirens. Not sure if it is at all possible to get away from noise in the NY metro area.
- 5/5
Overall it was nice experience
- 5/5
Very surprised how great this hotel was given that is appears to be almost on top of a busy road. Took the advise of other reviews and agree with how great it is. Street noise not a problem at all. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Great location for taking public transportation into the city. Very good coffee and continental breakfast each morning.

Amazing place
- 5/5
Awesome hotel! Free parking! Cozy rooms that are a little dated but it didn’t bother us. The breakfast has orange juice, coffee, donuts, croissants, apples, instant oatmeal, etc. It’s about a 10 min walk to the subway to go to NYC which wasn’t bad at all. Andrea, the front desk attendant was very helpful and told us how to get to the subway station. This is the best bang for your buck if you’re looking to go to NYC. There are a couple fast food places and gas stations nearby if you need something quick. Thank you for a great stay!
