The inn is not worth more than $40 a night stay, even if that. Recommend to anyone looking to find someplace else. I booked through Expedia, but during check in was asked what type of room I wanted and how many people would be staying. Clearly my reservation has that, and no other hotel has ever asked what room or how many are staying. We had a two night stay, and on the day after we checked in three people (two men and a woman) were in my room supposedly doing "room service." Nice touch, but I did not want it and why three people with a man playing watch outside the room. Was told to put a "do not disturb" sign on the door, which there was not one or I would have. The room itself was bad and a broken hair drier. Certainly a "cheap inn" and not in a good area. Highly recommend any other hotel than this one. I booked it because Expedia has it rated above a 7 out of 10, but this really should be 6 or less.

The room was decent for the price. We arrived late at night and left early in the morning but no true complaints. The checkout staff was very friendly. Juice and mini packets of doughnuts were available. My husband likes the air down low at night. I always remove the top layer of bedding at hotels because I always heard those don't get washed. The actual blanket on the bed was very thin and had some small holes throughout.

The beds in rooms were really clean at the parking lot felt extremely safe. Complimentary breakfast was horrible. The attendant only allowed you to have a small cup of juice and a pre packaged donut would not let me take more than one as a matter of fact, he was very rude. When letting me know that is one per person and this is not a grocery store.

No you still should have respect for your guests and potential customers but still protecting in house guests. I’ve worked at 8 hotels. I’ve done hospitality for 10 years. I’ll never stay here again EVER. It was an emergency and I didn’t ask for the room number cause I’m not stupid. We see who is the stupid one.

Good value, staff were very helpful. We just needed a place to stay after a concert in Jacksonville and this did the trick, Not a big deal but calling juice, donuts, and a hot pocket breakfast is a little misleading. Room was well maintained.

All the lights worked and the internet worked. That said I went to the Walmart less than 1 mile away and felt safe. Overall the property felt reasonably safe Not the greatest property but it was OK for the price.

We didn't even check in. We drove through the parking lot. There were people milling around, sitting on cars, playing loud music. It didn't look safe at all. We tried to get our money back for the room, but the property manager refused. I would definitely not recommend this place, unless you want to be kept up all night and have your car broken in to.

My room was very clean and had all what I needed. There was no coffee maker in the room, but I had my own small travel brewer, and that was not a problem. The front desk people were vary nice and helped me with my room accommodation. Good parking, safe surroundings. Great for the price.

The property is in a quiet area and has free parking. The hotel is very well kept and had a jacuzzi tub in the room and a nice mirror and that you can touch to change different settings. The only thing they could improve on is that the bed was a little too hard for me but for those that like a stiff bed it would be great.

Definitely we can’t trust on the reviews. There’s over 1000 reviews for this property with 3 or more stars. This just give me the impression that all the reviews are fake. The outside of the hotel looks attractive, new paint job, new tarmac, clean parking lot… in the other hand, the room aren’t what I pay for. Besides there’s no hot water . I did call the front desk and they told me other guests had been complaining about the same issue. Once again, check the reviews before booking.

no complaints, the room was clean and everything was functional. the A/C was controlled by a digital thermostat on the wall instead of the normal limited control buttons on the unit, which was a nice feature. i chose it because it was low-priced, so don't expect anything fancy. there are active train tracks nearby and you can hear the trains which sound their horns as they go through the intersection. and it is on a major road, so you can hear traffic sounds.

I rented for 1 night using hotels.com. The next day, I decided to extend my stay and booked two additional days on Hotels.com. Hotels.com prides itself on the fact that all costs are included when you pay. No hidden fees. All is paid, when you book. I notified the front desk that I was staying two more days and had booked and paid for the room. THEY CHARGED ME $20 EARLY CHECK-IN FEE FOR A ROOM I WAS ALREADY IN. To avoid this charge, I would have had to pack my stuff up. Leave and come back at 3pm to check in again for the new booking. ZERO STARS for customer service. The room itself was nice.

Rug was dirty needs to be clean , We inspected the bed sheets and they were clean , shower faucet was very loose & ready to fall off , the vending machine took our money and gave no item . The ice machine was rusted & leaking. It seemed like it was just poor condition and it was almost questionable about getting the ice out of it being safe. Listing says includes hot breakfast but it doesn’t . They have a coffee maker and a few cinnamon buns and some weird chicken pita pocket in the office to warm up in the microwave, definitely not a hot breakfast as stated and no selection of food for breakfast not your typical hotel continental breakfast. I guess it’s ok for an inexpensive night to just sleep and be on your way in the am .

The room had a few minor issues. There was a small hole in the drywall and a cigarette burn on the bedspread, but nothing that affected the comfort. There was a minor problem with the jacuzzi tub, but staff was excellent and fixed it right after I noticed the issue. Overall, would definitely stay again.

Beds seemed fine at first, but all of us woke up with sore backs. Room only had 2 bath towels for 3 people. No towels available at reception but we were told that one would be delivered to our room. After waiting 30 minutes for a towel, we just checked out and went to find a decent breakfast. Room had liquid soap dispenser on sink, which was nice.

I chose a smokers room and even though I didn’t expect for the room to be perfect, there was mud and dirt on the walls that could’ve easily been wiped off. The covers have burn holes in them and the filters for the AC weren’t clean.

The remodeled place is very good. There is an issue with road noise and that the building is shaped like a “c” with all the room doors facing the parking lot in classic motor Lodge style. The room was clean and smoke free. The service was efficient. There is a diner next-door that serves good food. Phillips Highway is a very busy roadway and the sound somewhat crept into the room. They’ve done a great job with the remodel and the price point was very attractive. I would stay there again.

There were cockroaches and the sheets were dirty. There was a man outside in the parking lot smoking from a crack pipe. I went to the desk about the roaches and the man came with a spray bottle of bug spray. Disgusting! The toilet was loose and leaking and around the base there was pee buildup. The chain lock on the door was broken and bent and the peephole was gone and filled in with what looked like playdough

Filthy room accidenly booked smoking they wouldn’t allow me to upgrade, regardless if you rent a smoking room it should not be in this condition. Dirty sheets holes in blankets had to sleep on my own clothing. In the morning coffee was watered down the Arabic man in the office wouldn’t allow me to take more then one cake mind you they are not normal size, cold water shower spraying everywhere afraid to touch the walls and found bug on the sheet in the morning, I think they are definitely doing there own review s . People pay the 10$ more and don’t take the chance. It was horrible all around, I could not believe he said only one.

I gave it an overall three stars simply because our air-conditioning in our room wasn’t the best and by the time we realized that we didn’t want to bother with moving to another room. As well, there was a gentleman, two doors down smoking marijuana on the balcony. And the third thing is even though I refused a smoking room I was charged a $60 deposit in case I smoked in the room and I reiterate again I asked for a non-smoking room and was given the option for a smoking room. Now, if I planned on smoking in the room, wouldn’t I have asked for a smoking room? They don’t disclose that website so if you don’t smoke or refuse a smoking room be prepared to pay a $60 deposit.

This establishment will nickel and dime you. The owner of this hotel cares very little about customer service very much about adding extra hidden costs to your bill.

Overall value for price but laundry machines were dirty & garbage left from guests remained in parking lot for days. Maintenance is needed, e.g. door security, DND sign missing & 1 (older man) front staff was very rude. Room was CLEAN & comfortable.

The AC was barely functioning and a part in the bathroom wall was rotted away. For 60 dollars a night, I'd say that it was decent but it could definitely be better.

CLEAN, intact room altho Housekeeping staff does not speak English & their children are in tow while they are working. This made me feel very uncomfortable. Why aren't they in school? (Are they illegal?) Also no coffee machines in room. This is a 1st!

This hotel is in quite a convenient location (provided you have a vehicle), to get to quitexa wide range of facilities on that side of the city. I would have stayed longer but the wifi / internet connection was very marginal, at best.

Chambre propre et spacieuse, bien équipée (frigo/micro-ondes) avec literie confortable et wifi fonctionnel. Personnel d’accueil agréable, profressionnel et souriant, qui m’a accompagné en dehors de la réception pour me montrer où se situe ma chambre. Le seul bémol est le petit déjeuner (dans la réception, pas de table et peu de choses, mais c’est un détails, il y a quand meme un café un jus, un petit donnut chocolat et une crepe salée congelée à mettre au micro-ondes). Bon rapport qualité-prix, je n’hésiterai pas à réserver de nouveau lors d’un prochain passage.

They were convenient for the night we needed some where to stay for tonight. The room was clean and reasonable.

This place is always my go to for a quick night stay..its not a 5 star hotel but its always clean and quiet. The room price is reasonable. The area is definitely close to alot...such as walmart gas stations and local food spots. The older gentleman who checks me in is always so sweet to me and we have a good laugh every time. He always tells me "have a GOOD night" and smiles. They have quick grab n go options in the morning for breakfast!

We enjoyed our stay very much!! The man at check in was so nice and accommodating. The room was clean and looked exactly like the picture from the website. The only thing missing was a long mirror and a hook or something for our clothes on hangers. Other than that, we will return to this hotel when we visit Jacksonville again

I’ve had good experiences in the past but lately the property has had a lot of issues with minor cleaning by staff which are undocumented workers dead smelling rooms moving plumbing issues also being I’m one of the most stable person on the property he complained to me that because I pay through a 3rd party site he was no longer going to allow me to check in early mind you I’ve spent nearly $2,000 in this month of August 2025 he wants me to pay them directly I don’t get what his problem is if you don’t want platinum card members booking at your hotel remove yourself hotel from the site I’m sure any other hotel will love the money I spend

Stayed here before with no issues. Unaware of the 60 deposit. That was news once we arrived. Once we got to our room the AC was not working properly nor was the mini fridge. We let staff know. His response was there is a thermostat on the wall to control airflow and the fridge should be in working condition. He eventually came to take a look and discovered what we said was correct. There is no wall thermostat and the fridge was plugged in and not working. He immediately switched our room. I still have yet to get my deposit back and it has been several days since we checked out.

Room was fine, however 1st room A/C didn’t work. Mgr offered another room, smoking room, very strong order didnt have much of a choice. Would have left, but at 1am where do you go???

When I came to check in, these people didn’t want to give me my room, they wanted to charge me for a whole other room. When I told them I give me the room I booked they were like “do you smoke” what does that have to do with giving me my room I booked. Worst ever won’t come back here ever again

Do not trust the reviews for this place. Lock on door was broken. Not family safe. Front desk not accommodating. Terrible experience

Parking lot very well lit. Quiet area. one issue was the shower drain had a problem, but I was checking out when the issue happened, so it did not affect me. this will be my choice of stay the next time in Jacksonville. The staff very friendly

Disgusting. Barely was there 2 hours wanted a refund because my room had beds full of bedbugs and guy at desk told me that was my choice to leave. I just needed a place for me and my 2 kids to sleep for a few hours while traveling instead i had to find and pay for another hotel in the middle of the night. Never will recommend to anyone! All i want is my money back. Hopefully people read this so they dont have the same peoblem i did.

The place is clean and nice and comfortable. The hotel rate is reasonable. I will definitely tell my friends to stay here at San Marcos. 👍

The restaurant is good as far as the rooms gross gnats roaches terrible plumbing toilets always flooding prostitution drugs people are over dosing and dying the police are always put here they need to close this place down the staff is just as bad they claim they doing us a favor i dont think so terrible

Always a pleasure staying

I stayed for 1 night with my family that included 2 children. It’s a decent place. Clean both inside and outside. Very quiet at night and a lot of lighting in the parking lot which we loved. I would definitely stay there again.

The staff here is consistantly friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

There aren’t bbq or gardens that I’ve seen. the beds aren’t comfortable. I hear people all night and feel my room vibrating from anyone walking by on my floor or being upstairs. Parking sucks. Our refrigerator was unplugged and smelled like rotten fish.

Property management was rude. First room they put us in tv was broke. They said they will get a new one the next day and was mad we asked for a different room. The second room they put us in had burn marks all in the furniture

The stay was great and room was very clean and nice for the money, the only down side was the smell, you could smell a hint of cigarettes and sweaty people.

Breakfast were hostess cupcakes / mini donuts or microwaved chicken pockets… no cereal, toast, yogurt, etc. There was also coffee and a juice machine.

Perfect for the price

They come into your room daily for no reason because they don’t even clean. There was a poop stain on the wall from when I first got there until I left. ( no it wasn’t from me)

Will definitely be looking at them again if I need a place in the area in the future.

The older gentleman at the front desk always makes me laugh and makes sure I always have a nice stay! Room is always clean. Does have some minor updates thats need but overall always a great stay!
