Staff was great. This JW Marriott was disappointing compared to all the others I have stayed, it’s old and the walls are like paper. Sounded like people in next room were in ours! Restaurant seemed under staffed, again the staff was very kind. Building front area is around construction area. The hotel needs a remodel, old carpet in restaurant, old woodwork, needs a facelift or remove “JW”. Staff was amazing!
- 5/5
Nice hotel. A little expensive. Parking only has valet option that cost additional money.
- 5/5
The room was spacious and renovated. Nice modern asthetic. Everyone at the property from front desk staff to valets were pleasant and very welcoming.
- 4/5
Hidden costs like $35 parking feels and internet charges.
- 5/5
The only complaint I have is that the bar and restaurant area is way too small and there is nothing else close as an alternative.

way over priced for the room. couldn't get the air to get cool. and the motion sensor lights on the bed were unnecessary. really disappointed to spend the money on something that should have cost half of what it did
- 4/5
Renovated rooms greatly improve this hotel, but water pressure in the shower and the design of the shower are substandard. And hot water comes and goes. Quite irritating, as the whole bathroom just was renovated. Marriott should know better.
- 4/5
My only con would be to upgrade tvs in the bedroom.
- 3/5
Staff was polite and helpful. I had prepaid my room but they charged me twice and held $700 on my debit card for over 5 days which is not cool. Area was convenient for my reasons to be there, but there is nothing going on at night. It's a little depressing.
- 5/5
Great pool that was heated. The rooms were excellent with great views.
- 5/5
Mr. Tony Davis the bellman was great. He had a very welcoming spirit from the time we arrived. He was very knowledgeable of the area, he mad great refrences for food etc. Also the two young ladies at the front desk were amazing. I will definitely be back
- 4/5
Great gym. Clean property. Valet staff were great!
- 5/5
Everything was absolutely amazing. The room was clean, the staff were top notch, big shout out to the valets for luggage and cars, they are all top notch. Thanks Marriott for an amazing experience during a special time to see the Thorn at the Performing Arts Center. What a treat, walk out the door and walk into the theater.
- 4/5
Great hotel in downtown Jacksonville. Close to everything and very walkable. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Staff were friendly. Location was amazing
- 5/5
We stayed only 1 night while taking my son on a college tour. The hotel was clean and room was updated. We had a view of downtown and the St. John’s River. Check in was great with Emileigh. She was so friendly and welcoming, and she continued to greet us when we walked through the lobby during the evening. This area of downtown seems to be a corporate//financial district so not many open/walkable restaurants nearby on the weekend, therefore we ate dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food and drinks were good and there were some TVs on with March Madness games, which made my son happy. We chose to valet park, which was very easy and the car was quickly retrieved when requested. The employees at Starbucks were also very friendly. The only negative to this hotel is that if you are traveling with a group of friends, etc, there ia not a place to sit around and socialize or sit and drink your coffee in the mornings. The lobby is just the check in desk and maybe a couple of chairs off to the side. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to others traveling to Jacksonville.
- 3/5
PARKING ! the front didnt explain the parking and valet at all . its a parking lot across from them and they were hosting an event and they charged me $35 for just almost not even a whole hour !
- 3/5
Parking was great. Room was clean but faucet in bathroom leaked couldn’t get the tv to work and no ice available on any of the floors.
- 5/5
I had a guys on a business trip and they made it very convenient for them as a booking agent for them. I have never experienced such great staff service over the phone. They were very helpful and they were able to help us with our needs if you're ever in Jacksonville, this is probably one of the best places to stay, especially with such a helpful staff
- 2/5
The hotel is clean, but aged. The lobby and public areas have a very strong fragrance that is revolting - it’s just too much. Room service never answered when we called; ice service did not work on our floor. Would not recommend.
- 3/5
The hotel was nice, I loved the bed. The sheets and comforter were so soft and cozy and the pillows were fluffy. The room was very clean, but I paid for a river view and could only see a small glimpse of the river between two buildings. The breakfast was expensive and wasn’t that great. The grab and go area was expensive. I paid $5 for a Diet Pepsi. Valet parking and self parking cost about the same, and I feel it was high. I just felt it wasn't worth what I paid for it, but it wasn’t bad.
- 3/5
Overpriced cold shower dripping pipe all night crap tea and coffee for price
- 4/5
It’s an older hotel that’s located downtown Jacksonville. Does not feel very safe late at night.
- 5/5
Perfect stay and so friendly
- 5/5
Hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and very helpful.
- 5/5
This hotel was so nice, from the family service for the team to adopted I really will stay here the next time I love this hotel
- 5/5
I love the Marriott always a nice stay
- 2/5
First, the night staff exhibited a shocking level of unprofessionalism. Upon check-in, I was greeted by a staff member with her feet up on the counter, which set a poor tone right from the start. The room was advertised as having a river view, but instead, I was faced with a view of the building next door. The hotel's amenities were also lacking. I was surprised to find that the coffee shop in the lobby closes at 11 am. Entering the lobby was another negative experience; the smell was offensive and unwelcoming. The elevators were filthy and appeared to have never been cleaned, and to make matters worse, a strong, nauseating perfume was constantly sprayed inside, making it an uncomfortable ride. Overall, this hotel felt grungy and dated. Given the combination of unprofessional staff, cleanliness issues, and unpleasant odors, I would not consider staying here again.
- 5/5
Room was nicely kept and has been updated
- 4/5
Room was very clean and the staff was outstanding.
- 5/5
For the price I got on Expedia it was a great value. Nice hotel, close to the football and other stadiums.
- 3/5
Shower didn’t drain well. The plug ins on the bathroom side of the bed didn’t work. I was charged for valet parking which I didn’t use but did have them fix when I checked out.
- 5/5
Hotel is very clean. Stsff at front desk was very friendly and helpfull.
- 5/5
Property, staff, valet all amazing! Hats off to all!
- 5/5
Isaiah in the front desk was truly amazing. A great host.
- 5/5
Everything was amazing
- 5/5
Perfect location. The room was clean and well kept. Staff was super friendly
- 3/5
Staff was extremely cordial and restaurant food was excellent. Our room had a few issues including: the bed felt like it needed to be replaced, was lumpy and felt like there were ‘ruts’ from use; the toilet seat was broken; the TV was frustrating as the remote control had at least a 5 second delay after pressing a button; the only streaming service available was Netflix; the TV image flickered often.
- 3/5
The staff was amazing! the Front Desk and the valet team were really nice. Honestly the food was not good, we were expecting something way better being a 4 stars hotel. The bed and pillows were not comfortable, I asked for 2 extra pillows because I’m pregnant but it didn’t help, pillows were super flat.

Clean room, staff, friendly, and the gym is outstanding! It was just redone and the equipment is so nice and so new. The restaurant menu could use some healthier options but other than that wonderful day.

- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Good option for the Jacksonville area. Had a great check-in and warm welcome with Sunshine at the front desk. She was so charming and answered all of my questions - very refreshing after a long trip. Great location, modern rooms. Just two notes - must point out the plumbing was so loud - when you flush the toilets or sink it was almost whistling for a few minutes even after the flush. Also I ordered a steak room service, and it came up almost cold in a to-go box. Both are things I think the hotel could fix easily.
- 4/5
Hotel staff and the JBar staff were amazing and very friendly. Towels could use an update some stains and a goat head on one. Bathroom needs a vent fan.
- 5/5
Outstanding
- 5/5
It was a great hotel the staff was amazing
- 4/5
Everything was very good. Clean room, amenities were fine, restaurant was fine. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Tayla, our server in the restaurant was excellent. The only drawback was the bed in our room. It was very uncomfortable, making sleep next to impossible.
- 5/5
Quick, easy and friendly
- 4/5
The breakfast was very good, room good, housekeeping good. Room service was quick but missing the soda my wife ordered - had to go to the lobby store to get a replacement (which they comped). On departure was asked if I wanted the final statement emailed, which I agreed to. It's now 5 days later and still no statement, nor is the billing complete yet.
- 3/5
Major, construction happening. Very loud!
- 5/5
Great hotel. Convenient to venue. Nice restaurant inside hotel. Beautiful view of the river. Would definitely stay here again

- 5/5
Hotel was convenient to the activities we planned.
- 5/5
Very Clean and comfortable Everyone very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again!
- 2/5
Pool was closed so we couldn't even walk on the outlook to see the river all lit up. (We booked a "Riverview" room but the veiw was mostly blocked. Tried to veiw the river from outside, but we encountered 3x homeless people sleeping at the edges of the hotel property and felt rude to be bothering them. We will not return.
- 5/5
Awesome
- 4/5
Clean room overall, only disappointment was that there was no cleaning done for one of the 3 nights we stayed.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room, great location
- 5/5
A few bumps with valet and the room but the level they do service recovery is amazing!
- 4/5
Staff and food were great. They could have let us know that the shuttle to the game was not part of Marriott services and would be very expensive. $40 to get 4 of us a mile away and then another $40 to come back.
- 3/5
The heafty charge for parking! It would make more sense to charge the self park fee or the valet charge in the rate and have parking included as it would make the guest feel less nickel and dime. The valet was awful rude to me when I asked where self parking was located and if I could drop off our luggage then park he said no so we had to park and then roll our luggage over from the paid parking lot across the street. It felt a bit unsafe with the traffic not paying attention.
- 4/5
Very nice room, but no self parking options
- 3/5
Staff was generally great. The food was way too expensive for the lack of quality. Breakfast was pretty awful. It was very noisy in the lounge area.
- 5/5
Very nice accommodations
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 1/5
Somone walked into the room on their phone about an hour after we checked in. Ended up leaving and not staying the night as we felt unsafe with staff walking into the room unannounced and without knocking.
- 3/5
$150 pet fee which I missed when reserving the hotel and is exorbitant! a $150 per night room turned into $420, just very frustrating. Impossible to travel any more and stay at a clean hotel without being milked dry.

Nice place. Nothing to do downtown. Other than that it was a nice place.
- 1/5
Hilarious, requested to revise my review and leave out prices. All you need to know about hotels.com right there. Weak.
- 3/5
The entire hotel needs a refurbishment. The elevators looked old and the decor was out dated. The entrance was very difficult to access with our rental car. The valet attendants were nice but overwhelmed with too many cars in a very small space. Had to wait a long time to get back into the drop off area on Saturday night due to a high number of cars trying to valet. The walls in our first room were very thin and we had an adjoining door to the next room. The walls were so thin that we heard the people in the next room having sex for hours and I had my daughter in the room with me. The next morning I asked for a different room without an adjoining door and they were very nice to accommodate us. We ate breakfast in the main restaurant on Saturday and had to wait a long time to get our food. We waited so long that the waitress told us to go up to the buffet and get something to eat because it was taking so long. The staff was very nice about the situation but it delayed our schedule for the rest of the day. When we only had one day to sight see, that is a big deal. Both of our rooms were clean and nice but that was the only bright spot of staying there.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
Bed was bumpy. They need free breakfast. You need a key card entry on far back of building. Didn’t get my room was ready text until after I checked in. Valet took 20 minutes. Both major flaws. Staff was great.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff. Room was as advertised
- 1/5
Pillows were flat, walls were paper thin, heard drunk neighbors arguing at 1am. The shower took forever to get warm, the toilet had to be held for 20 seconds to flush, definitely not staying here again.
- 5/5
They have a small full service bar for drinks and watching sports. Amy was very pleasant and attentive.
- 5/5
Friendly- even with everything that’s going on, staff still had a smile.
- 5/5
would recommend
- 5/5
Nice place
- 5/5
This was the third time to stay at this location and it did not disappoint, The rooms have been renovated and have a more modern feel. The staff has been extremely welcoming and helpful each time. We attended for an NFL game and Tony, the concierge, recommended delicious places to eat and took care of arranging our ride to and from the game. The restaurant has a nice selection of food and drinks and plenty of space to accommodate many guests. The staff is the best part of this hotel for 3 years in a row now. We really appreciated them!
- 3/5
Had a problem with check in1requested an early check in and did not receive.Arrived at property at 11:30 and did not get into room until 2:30 pm!!
- 5/5
Close to EverBank Stadium
- 3/5
It was an ideal location for Jacksonville Jaguars game. Some of the star players was staying here. Overall, the internet was not working and I have 2 crying babies next door to me so it was a sleepless night
- 5/5
We stayed here for a concert in one off the renovated rooms, just lovely.
- 2/5
Lady at front didnt have a oing as my reservation said. She sold me a double queen stating that it was river front, when in reality it was a partial river view. Not worth it. Room dated Won’t stay again
- 5/5
I have always stayed at this hotel and still to this day I give this hotel a 10/10! The staff is amazing! The beds are comfortable and the room is clean. I love how there is dining, pool, gym, and bar inside the hotel. Stay here!!! You won’t regret it!

- 5/5
Great service, clean property, very professional staff.
- 5/5
Its location afforded easy access to dining.
- 4/5
They really need to fix the shower head. The diverter wouldn’t send full pressure to the head. Made it challenging. But the whole stay was nice. You have to pay for parking.
- 5/5
Convenient to dining and show venues. Great staff!
- 1/5
Only valet 38 per night no shopping surrounding area dirty like a refund
- 5/5
Clean rooms Downtown is quiet on the weekends not much to do. Some construction obstructing River the time we went
- 1/5
The walls are so thin. The neighboring guests were loud into the early morning hours and I could hear everything that was going on in their rooms. Also, I tried numerous times to get room service and was never connected. I was told there was a QR code in my room to order, but there wasn’t. The room floor was dirty. I will not be staying here again.

- 3/5
The AC never really got cold; the sink didn’t drain, and about 4 AM we heard rap music from next door. The smell of pot was pretty strong in certain places, and there were no “direct call” instructions for the hotel front desk, bell hop, etc. instead, we had to call the reservation hotline to get the number to the front desk. It was just wasn’t the best stay we’ve had.
- 5/5
Check-in was quick and the girl at the desk was courteous. She did advise me if the renovations at this time. Room was clean and comfortable. It appears to have been recently updated. No water problems this time. We had them in our last stay. Bar staff were courteous, as usual, and attentive. Another great stay!
- 1/5
This was the worst experience that I have had in a long time
- 2/5
The AC didn't work during our stay! We called the front desk
- 5/5
This hotel was very clean and welcoming. Staff were friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
I love the remodeled rooms
- 5/5
Clean, decorative, great staff!!
- 3/5
Floor in room nor shower was clean. No ventilation in bathroom. Long wait for valet parking and only option for parking available.
- 5/5
My stay was excellent, the staff, the valet, everyone was so friendly and welcoming
- 3/5
Other than that, my stay was nice, the beds could’ve been a bit more softer/comfortable.
- 5/5
The entire hotel was so clean and the staff was exceptionally polite and accommodating. We had a wonderful stay and will stay again when we visit Jacksonville.

Great stay-some floors are being renovated-our room was on a newly renovated floor-beautiful! Loved the motion sensor lights that helped with nightly bathroom trips. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

New ownership from Omni to Marriott. Much needed improvement. Still remodeling but only certain hours of the day. Staff great from desk to restaurant/bar. Super convenient to Jax symphony across the street. Stay every trip.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Nice remodel. Room is Awesome.
- 5/5
We enjoyed.
- 3/5
This Marriott needs a major renovation! The toilet would not flush. Also VERY poor response time from housekeeping
- 3/5
Noisy no way to self park
- 5/5
Its was awesome
- 5/5
Clean, safe and had a good gym.
- 5/5
Nice view of the river, quiet and clean
- 5/5
We like the hotel and the staff and the area. Unfortunately, we booked this hotel to walk on the Riverwalk and because there’s construction all along the river it wasn’t available for walking.
- 5/5
Great stay especially for attending events across the street.
- 5/5
Great stay. Check in was easy and quick. Paid for valet parking at 36 for the day. They don’t have their own parking so it was that or garage or lot parking. desk Agent was friendly and informative. Room was renovated and very nice. Pillow were very comfortable as well as the bed. View was nice. Only issue was ac didn’t seem to work well at night. Also the restaurant was not very good at all. I’d recommend eating elsewhere. Server was very nice, but the food was tasteless and blah.
- 4/5
Some work on the property created noise during the day. This is understandable but was not noted during booking.
- 4/5
Friendly customer service from Keesha, the desk check-in representative.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Large comfortable room, quiet, and located adjacent to the Performing Arts Center. Staff and valet service were friendly. I would stay there for any future trips.
- 2/5
, like light sockets had brown crud embedded into them. There were cracks in the sink, the same brown stuff on light sockets, sticky tables and a lot of noise. We were woken up at 7am by work being dine on the floor above us. You could hear carts being pushed and hammers through the ceiling. While I have stayed in worse hotels, I will not be coming back to this one.
- 3/5
To operate the TV while lying in the bed required holding the remote up in the air and aiming it PRECISELY at the TV sensor. If you're off by a few degrees it would not work. The switch for the lamp behind the easy chair was on the floor. To turn off/on required one to stand behind the chair and slide the switch with your foot.
- 5/5
I had difficulty accessing the WiFi and needed to send a report for work. Tyler was able to help out and was so very kind about the difficulties I was having. The valet staff were very respectful and quick. The restaurant was much better than what is usually at a hotel. Overall a great experience.
- 5/5
Nice
- 4/5
Check in was quick and efficient. The ladies at the Front Desk (I hate that I did not get their names because they deserve a shout out) were exceptional. I have stayed here when it was an Omni and it has not changed much. It is now a Marriott and they are undergoing renovations thus I gave them a good review. But for what is going on, it was actually excellent. From check in to the housekeeper that was cleaning the public bathrooms warm good morning greeting was comforting. As for my sleeping room, the tub was a bit slippery getting in, maybe a bathmat or is the tub getting replaced with new tubs with a non slip surface (?). I understand that the renovations are including gutting the bathrooms. The amenities in the bathroom were not the same as my friends staying in another room, ie... not lotion, theirs only had about a third of the bottle filled, I did not have any lotion. Not a deal breaker. Will I stay here again? Absolutely. I am sure after the renovations are completed, it will be back on track. The mandatory valet..well it is a big city and I realize most hotels are leaning towards this. The Omni allowed self parking in the lot in front of the hotel, of course, either way, you still paid for parking. Again not major.
- 5/5
Convenient location was therefore a tattoo convention very accessible property was decent
- 3/5
The best thing about the hotel is the staff. They are very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Dave the bartender was an amazing gentleman all around staff were great....
- 5/5
Everything about the hotel is perfect.....EXCEPT there was no heat in the common areas, bar and restaurant when it got down to 36°.
- 3/5
I understand the difficulties with technology, but these were very inconvenient. The pillows were horrible. The standards were lower than I would have expected from a Marriot Hotel.
- 3/5
We were unaware they were doing renovations and were woken up early Sunday morning to what sounded like jackhammering. We were told they were doing renovations 7 floors above us.
- 5/5
This is an excellent hotel for business travel. Quality property, clean, well maintained, great staff. On my regular list for downtown Jacksonville business trips. Very convenient.
- 3/5
We didn't know they were going through a major renovation. Also, their heat was out and the restaurant, bar, etc. was so cold we all had to wear our coats. The rooms were ok. Our rooms carpet was wet. I may stay again when the renovations are complete.
- 3/5
Hotels website said incidental fees were $50 and parking was $18, when we got there it was $100 for fees and $50 for parking if i wasn't prepared but i paid because i had a baby with me and tired from a 4 hour drive.
- 5/5
Great room, quite and great hot shower!
- 5/5
Perfect downtown hotel
- 3/5
The people who work here are lovely. The property is very dated and the gym was very limited which is why I marked it down

Pros: good blackout curtains, large flat screen TV (w/ streaming options), good water pressure, housekeeping was great, & staff was friendly (shoutout to Tony for arranging transportation to & from the game for us) Cons: the AC does not cool the room properly, the pillows are flat, the mattress is worn out, the bathroom is extremely outdated (although it was very clean, the appearance made it feel dirty), there is no microwave in the room, walls are very thin so you can hear practically everything happening around you

Room was clean and a good size. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. At 3:00 am the extreme odor of sewage woke us up, kept us anawoke, and lingered through our stay. Apparently, the sewer was being drained without notice. The hotel staff did nothing to help with this. It was sickening.

Stayed four days for my daughter's BMT graduation. Had a spacious 1 bedroom suite. Quiet area and hotel. Was given a one hour late check-out, which my airman used to take a nap. Convenient location for traveling to Lackland AFB. Walmart, Target and plenty of other stores are nearby. Highly recommend.

All the amenities and hospitality of a luxury resort without the price or the condescending attitudes indicative of the staff at those places. Great staff, great stay!

The front desk had an angel on duty. He went above and beyond for us during our stay

Absolutely horrible. They lost our car keys ans we were late for our NYE dinner. Is it really Marriott or motel8????

I had a difficult time communicating with the maid service. I asked them to not clean my room the second day because it was unnecessary. They cleaned it anyway and gave me new sheets. Also, the toilet sits very low to the floor. It should be updated with a taller one.

No exhaust fan in bathroom made showering uncomfortable. Makeup stain on pillows and previous guests socks under ottoman, indicates room cleaning may have been subpar before our arrival. Room service experience was good from a service standpoint, though a bit overpriced for the food we received. In restaurant dining experience was less than enjoyable due to limited service staff, entree came out missing a side, and family next to us was loud with children running around restaurant. Last night in room it sounded like somebody was banging on exterior window in room next to or above us, well after midnight.

Staff were amazing and very helpful! Only problem is I being a Marriott Bonvoy member and with a credit card, I did not get free parking or free breakfast. Not sure why I even have this card, sucks!
