The night manager is a total rock star. Excellent man! He even brought me my doordash that was not dropped off at my room like i had requested. Ok, there are people just hanging out there, coming and going in the parking lot. Looks like drug activity among other things i saw. Some of the rooms had their doors propped open with clothes baskets at midnight. I was very uncomfortable. It made me feel semi safe that the manager was on top of things so well! The room though! I wish i could upload my video of that room. There was a substance on the nightstand unidentifiable, the hinges on the doors were rusty. The curtain was broke had to pull it to and close the curtain in it the rack u lay your luggage on was rusty. There were multiple holes in the baseboards. The paint was peeling off of the ceilings. Holes in the walls. The bed slept well. At least it was clean. This is the very last stay there for me. You absolutely get what you pay for! Oh and there is one set of stairs on each side of the building. Dragging luggage up those is crazy!

The room was as advertised. It had a coffee maker, fridge, microwave, TV with cable, iron & ironing board, and a hair dryer. The room was also clean, and housekeeping did come every day and clean the room, change my sheets and make the bed, and I noticed they actually cleaned the floors too. There were minor issues in the room but nothing major. I didn't visit the pool area (if there is one - I didn't look for one) so I cannot comment on that. The parking lot was well lit, clean, litter free, and the building itself was not bad for an older structure. The location was perfect for my needs being only two miles to the convention center, right off the major interstate, under 8 miles to the Amtrak Station, and not too far from the Airport. It was also close to the downtown area. The neighborhood did seem a little rough and there were no restaurants, gas stations, or stores within walking distance but they were all about a mile or so down the road and very close by driving. Overall this was not a bad place especially for the low rates compared to the other hotels in the area. I would stay here again if the price is right.

Second: there is no pool. I don’t know if there ever was one. There’s a pond behind a barbed wire fence in the back of the property. Third: when you want to make a reservation it says that non smoking rooms are non refundable. Smoking are. So of course in order to protect your money you go with the smoking refundable ones. What they don’t tell you is that once you check in you have 20 minutes to ask for a refund. If not, they try to accommodate you in another room. I personally did not want to stay. Fourth: the whole building looks and feels as if something illegal is happening in any of the rooms. The room was dirty and the air was completely saturated with smoke of cigarettes and MJ. The maroon comforters had “bleach” stains on them. The trash can was already used. The beds felt humid and cardboard like. The furniture was banged up and the base of the bed was kinda disassembled. It was metal so it’s dangerous when it eventually falls. It was unacceptable even for one night. We spent 25 minutes there reading reviews and looking for some other accommodations because it was impossible for us to feel safe of comfortable there.

There is actually no pool at all. Not sure if there ever wss a pool. You ca. Get cheaper prices so shop around. Ladies work hard cleaning ,maybe a little upgrade on curtains .there is an occasional loiters but security shewd them off.

I never got to utilize the property because they did false advertisement and said they had a pool. They do not have a pool. They need to take that picture down because there is no pool available on this property.

Not recommended. I booked a smoke-free room. However, when I entered the room, there was a strong smell of smoke. We could not sleep well because of the bad smell. And there is no ventilation in the room. However, the front desk staff is good.

I made the mistake of walking around the room barefoot. Within a few minutes the bottoms of my feet were black. Towels so thin they would work as window screens!! Toilet rocked and felt like it was going to topple over. Needed to flush twice for each use. Coffee maker didn't work, even the replacement we requested. No butter or margarine for waffles.

They advertise a pool BUT they don’t have one. The covers had stains, & you could tell they painted over mildew inside the room we were in. Thankfully though they didn’t have any bugs inside the rooms.

Scottish inn was happy to have another black Earlier this month Magnusson did not allow the same exact black man access They are literally next door to each other. They are literally owned and managed by the same group ...Similar to black and white water fountains. I am truly hurt

I ended up leaving before the end of the night. there were holes in the wall. it reaked of smoke and bodily fluids. there were prostitutes walking up and down the parking lot offering services to me (and my wife). our uber driver told us we should leave it is unsafe. the worker would only talk to me from outside. i cancelled my entire evening plans and went home.... to unsafe and it made us miserable.

The staff is friendly. The room was clean but unappealing and with a torn curtain at the window. The bed covering and the curtain need to be changed / updated. Old looking interior. The environment does not feel safe. At arrival midnight, check in was done through a small window with guest outside on the street in the cold. Will never go for this hotel ever again.

This place is not in the best part of town. It doesn’t resemble what is shown in the photos. Fencing around parking area and the check in is done with the clerk behind plexiglass. Check in was fairly easy. The room is old. The bed was quite comfortable with fresh linens. The bathroom was clean. Old, thin towels but adequate. It was very loud with traffic right near our room. All in all, it met our needs for a place to sleep and shower

The hotel was not maintained well. Breakfast was very basic just waffles cereal and after I fixed my waffles they said it wasn't anymore better to be used. Which made a another customer upset with me I only made one waffle per guest in my room. Staff was mostly friendly. But I would not recommend staying there to anyone unless they just needed a place to rest and they didn't have enough money. The beds were hard and left my back hurting.

There was the most underwhelming, judgmental , front desk clerk who was rude,, asked me to leave the lobby and go outside to the window,. To check in . She was the only one working , however. She was slow, didn’t know much about customer service, spoke almost UNINTELLIGIBLE ENGLISH, and had the audacity to turn her back as I waited for her to recognize ME? I didn’t appreciate that at all and I will be speaking with management regarding her behavior.

Staff were great. Very pleasant and helpful. The room was in disrepair, the toilet barely worked, the paint was stained. the tile in the bathroom was damaged. Beds (full sized, not queens) were OK at best. Outside noise was terrible.

I reserved an ADA room. Which was occupied when I arrived. I looked at their next room available it had candy wrappers on the floor. Dirty towels on the counter, dried hot chocolate spilled on the floor ( at least I hope it was chocolate) Roaches. I could not stay there. I asked for a refund and sleep in my car at a rest area. I would give them less stars if possible.

We pulled into the parking lot and were so much not impressed...there was a very large man prowling on the sidewalk beside the window provided for check ins....no admittance to the inside to do that. When my husband walked over to check in, the large man back and began talking about shootings there, the desk person told my husband there was a 24 hour security person. The large man continued to hang around my husband until he finally told the check in person to cancel our stay. I think that employee agreed it was not safe for two senior, disabled persons to stay there.

The staff was very sweet. But the type of people that stayed there when we did was either drug addicts or inappropriate individuals. We were kept up most of the night from people arguing, pacing in front of our door or talking inappropriately. My wife was harassed by the men that were upstairs. The room itself wasn’t the best but it’s expected with how much the hotel cost. But when we lifted the sheets up to help out the cleaner (not having to do it). We noticed that we were sleeping on top of crumbs and trash that was left on the mattress cover.

Oof, where to start. First, upon check in we didnt get the type of room we booked online. Ok, fine give us whats left. Yes its cheap so we should have known what we were getting into. Everything out dated, very loud guests and cars. Homeless people everywhere, roach poo on the tiolet paper, leaking faucet in the bath tub. Just an uneasy area, old and dirty. Bonus is it was in the city and close to the stadium which is where we needed to be. Would not stay again, would stay farther from destination. Disappointed

🌺i really love staying here! Theres no roaches which you see at alot other places, its comfy hers, its quiet, i have never had any issues the front desk staff are very nice. I had to have my remote fixed they brought me a new one immediately i enjoy the stay here every time!

Besides outside activities I slept like a baby and my DND sign was honored.

They have no vending machines. You can not access the lobby even during daytime hours. The desk receptionist was not helpful and no security to control environment

when checked into room # 281 and had brought all my stuff in, I turned on the TV but it wasn't working. they put me in another room. how inconvenience that was??

The kid that checked us in said he could check us in early for 20.00 cash only…I refused and said we would come back and he turned around and said I can get you in now, it was 2pm. Our room smelled like cigarette smoke and it got worse while sleeping, the neighbors were smoking until middle of night. The bed was the only thing that was comfortable but the bed spread and one of the sheets had cigarette burns. The ironing board was ripped off of the walls, toilet flushed very slow and bathroom door wouldn’t close!

when got to room, the TV remote wasn't working. got the clerk but he could not get it to work so he turn it on from a button in the back. but the remote change channels but could not turn on & off and had no control of the volume?? went to office, she had no batteries?? (WOW??). said would call maintenance. he never showed up?? ((bad experience)) should be compensated??

This hotel advertised a pool. It does not have a pool. The sister location next door does and it was broken. Worst hotel I've ever booked through hotels. I feel like I should be paid to stay here not vice versa.

They lied about the pool.. we called right before we booked and they said they had a pool (Never actually saying that it had been closed for the last 2yrs and actually doesn't even belong to them but the Scottish hotel beside of them) I HAVE 4 KIDS!!! all the pictures on the ad were photoshopped and made to look way better than the actual property. False advertising and I will be filing a complaint and asking for a full refund!! NEVER STAY HERE!!!

The room had dead roaches and some sort of bug did not know what it was, also I smelled cigarettes which made my eyes itchy. I did not stay I checked out immediately.

Perfectly acceptable for price. Bed was clean. Good grocery option nearby. Easy bus to downtown or 30 minutes walk. Noisy neighbours (thin walls), but that is pot luck of course.

Front desk service was very friendly and professional. But the facility is in very poor condition. People asking for spare change in the parking lot. Unlighted halls and stairwells. As for cleanliness- there was a dirty wash cloth hanging in the shower. We left and went to a Hampton. That being said, it was half the cost of the Hampton. So if you’re feeling frugal and adventurous, go for it.

The only issues I had was the coffee machine had a weird chemical like reaction to the water in it . They phone also didn't work but that's fine , I have a back up phone . As far as business and needing a place for work I wouldn't recommend! But for some peace and time away from things , definitely a go to hotel 😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

After an EXTREMELY RUDE encounter with two of the 3 night desk clerks at the Scottish Inn next door while trying to check in through our reservation, I went to the Magnuson and found the clerk VERY warm and happy to be of SERVICE. He provided information which I needed but did not voice which made my impression of this inexpensive hotel better. The room was not remarkable but neither was it dingy, grimy or sticky.

The manager working that day was very rude and unprofessional. I had to wait at the window for over ten minutes while he argued on the phone with someone. I just got in from Texas and only wanted to shower and rest. He wouldn’t let me check in early so I just left and found another place to stay even though I’d already paid for the room online and it was non refundable. I’ll never book this motel again.

The room was dirty with roaches. The place smelled of musk and mold, and turning on the A/C didnt help the situation. Stains on all levels of the sheets. And the bathroom was more than to be desired. Had to leave in the middle of the night.

Hotel looks nothing like the photos. It is very run down and filthy. The bathroom sink was missing the facet knob. Room smelled of mildew and smoke even though this is a “non smoking” hotel. We should have left. We didn’t even shower there because the tub was so stained. The worst part is I left something in the room and of course no one found it.

Furniture in the room was falling apart and location of hotel was not the safest in town. The bed however was comfortable. I paid more for the room than I thought it was worth but that may have been due to the timing. It was Fl/GA football Saturday.

The entire place is falling apart. Upon my arrival, there was no one in the front office and I had to go searching for an employee. same thing when I checked out, couldn't find an employee. My room was incredibly nasty. Asked for a non-smoking room, got a room that was clearly used to smoke everything. Multiple holes in the wall. All fixtures - light fixtures, faucets, door knobs, you name it- they were all loose. The door to my room had a hole in the bottom of it so it didn't even seal properly. The best part about my stay was that I was woken up by a prostitute at 3 in the morning. This place is horrendous. Do not-and I mean under any circumstances- do not stay here.

Room was dirty as soon as we arrived. Floor was dirty and toilet was overflowing. Notified staff and they said they would fix it after I checked out. There were holes in the walls. Tub was dirty. We called for housekeeping but they never showed up. Pool was closed the whole time we stayed there. I got this hotel to meet friends coming to visit me since I’m in the military but very disappointed. I ended up getting another hotel room somewhere else so I could stay there since it was horrible. I would have asked for a refund since I only slept there one of the 2 nights I booked it. Would discourage anyone booking a room to stay away. Very disappointed.

I am beyonddddd pissed and disgusted! Blood stains under the sheets on the bed bug cover. Absolutely filthy. We got a non smoking room and there were spiderwebs all over the room. The tub,sink and bathroom including the tub was absolutely DISGUSTING. If it was not so hot out i would have slept in my car. Homeless hanging out all over the property. Everything was SO dirty! I would not let a blind person sleep here and this was after i drove 5hrs and didnt check in til 10pm. Beyond pissed! Trying to upload photos and hotels . Com will not allow

Bed bugs, molds, chip off paints, broken doors. Stolen coffee maker. Smells weed all the time. Noisy next door. It's what will be waiting for you. I can't blame the hotel if the guests that stayed before really took time to ruin the hotel. But please do something to make it liveable again.

Plumbing Problems/ Drugs and Prostitution/ People Arguing/ Woman was put out because she had Her baby running in the streets and parking lot, and close to the high way. Few of the staffs are liers, one of staff he be sleep all night in the lobby, You have to bang on the window to wake him up to checking in, sleeping on the job is a no no some nights it feel creepy because of certain People they let stay at the hotel they be out and about lurking, trying trick and sale drugs a cross the street is a another hotel, same thing goes on there, they run good costumers away,police be patroling the area it don't matter cause everything I say goes on there, but its okay I found a real nice hotel to start coming to, I mean it's nice and much better. I do not want to go back to magnuson in anymore.

My 1st room had bed bugs and roaches and I have pictures as proof. When asked for a refund the guy at the desk stated no refund but would move me to another room. When moved to another room there were dirty towels and opened bars of soap which means room wasn’t cleaned at all.

They cancelled my reservation and marked me as having stayed , notmw expedia wont refund me the money.

The guy at the front desk was professional however the room are poorly maintained. Also I couldn’t sleep because the people next to my room were really loud and annoying. I had to call front desk to report it which the front desk person went there and talk to them. But as soon as he left they started it again! I had to put my earphones in and listen to rain sounds so I could get some sleep. Overall this place have potential, just need better maintenance. Also the room had a weird smell.

Just an ok, cheap place to be able to sleep in a bed at night while on vacation. Nothing special. Not the cleanest place, but not the worst either. Staff did do a good job at keeping outside garbage cans cleaned out, even if full at night, by morning they would be empty.

This building used to be the super 8 motel. It was not anything like what I'm used to staying in. I was very disappointed and wanted to check out as soon as i got into the room.

I checked in after 4pm. I had requested room # 281. When I open the door to my surprise, the room had not been cleaned??? Trash on the floor. No soap? No wash cloth/rags? Black substances on the bathroom floor? I went back to the clerk window to inquire as to why the room had not been, he didn't know and said the housemaids left @ 3pm? I asked if I could get fresh sheets, towels and wash cloths. He stated he didn't have access to the maids locked room? After staying there for over 3 years, I have never experienced this type of malfunction?

I decided to get a bite to eat, leave the property and let it “cool off”. Upon my return the coast was clear and proceeded to my room. Once the light was turned on several cockroaches scurried away. I tried to find another hotel but all were booked, so I had to stay. Smoke alarm hanging out of the wall, windows smeared with unknown substances, no secondary lock on the door and a broken table.  I had to barricade the door every night. My last night staying at 1000PM my key failed to open the door.  I went to the front Off- no one was present ..At 1100PM a front desk clerk finally showed up. I then told him I’ve been waiting for an hour for someone to to reprogram my key.  He responded, “that’s not my problem”, with an attitude. The next morning I went to check out, only to be surrounded by police tape.  The entire block was a crime scene. I was informed a murder had taken place across the street.

This place is a hotel that needs to be destroyed! It was conveniently located to where we were going! It’s dirty, located in trash, and nothing like the pictures! Do not take your family to this location!!

The rooms were dingy dust bunnies and not sure the sheets were clean so I slept on top of the comforter. I have a feeling some of the reviews were fabricated. This hotel is in a bad area as you can’t even go into the office. The only contact you have with staff is through a small service window, the glass seemed to be bulletproof

The room was not clean there were cobwebs on the wall the toilet tank lid was missing and they had a piece of plastic over it. The smoke detector was hanging by the wires. The bathtub was nasty. Had to wear my slides when I showered. The shower head wasn’t even high enough to be over top of my head. I’m 5’7” Definitely not worth $90 a night very disappointed

We did not feel safe and as it turned out there was a shooting at the hotel across the street. We arrived late on a Wednesday evening for an all day event on Thursday and left very early Friday morning (6:00). We considered sleeping at the airport terminal on Thursday but decided against it. Do not stay here.
