Holiday Inn Jacksonville E 295 Baymeadows by IHG

The advertised breakfast buffet is $11.99 per day per person. The posted hours are 6:30-9:30. We arrived at 9am. No plates, no napkins, no bacon, no cups, no mixed fruit. A few pieces of breakfast meats that appeared to have been sitting a while. No biscuits and gravy. The cooked foods were all about gone, and it appeared that they were more focused on finishing up the breakfast for 9:30 rather than bringing out more foods for those of us who came later in the morning . We voiced our displeasure to the manager, and they essentially told us that there was nothing we could do about it, take our concerns to Expedia. We did, and Expedia staff were very helpful and reached out to the hotel property. Even with this, the property refused to refund our $168 which would be the daily breakfast buffet cost for 6 more days, already billed. I felt that a bit better customer service was in order. The wait staff were great and pleasant and we had no issues with personnel. I would not recommend this property for anyone. Choose a hotel with free breakfast and everyone is happy.

The staff were friendly but think worked, the room keys would continuously stop working, the pool area was ok but could use an update. Inside the room one of the handles wasn’t working and even after it was “fixed” didn’t work well. The frig wasn’t working so they swapped one out. The lobby smelled odd. Just wasn’t a great experience.

The lobby was cleaned and beautiful. The staff at check in were very nice and friendly. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The bathroom door was very hard to close and open. The door frame was rusty. The bathroom sink was badly stained and cracked. They only provided two bath towels for two guests. The bed linen had a stain. The light fixtures were old. The facility is dated and needs some renovation and repairs.

The desk clerk Justin was very nice and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Only negative thing was shower had a very musky odor and there was no exhaust fan in bathroom. Oh and the ac worked great!

The hot tub jets were not all working, better pressure, with all jets working, would have been awesome. Overall, the service was very kind, patient & helpful.

What made this even worse was the complete lack of answers or accountability. I spoke with two managers, a front desk employee, and eventually the General Manager, and not a single person could explain why these charges appeared. Instead, I was repeatedly told the money was “just being held,” despite the fact that the funds had already been removed from my bank account. The most disappointing part was the interaction with the General Manager. Rather than taking the issue seriously or attempting to resolve it, he was condescending and sarcastic. He even suggested I contact my bank because apparently the bank had somehow “randomly charged” me to give the hotel money, which made absolutely no sense and felt dismissive and insulting. Mistakes can happen, but how a hotel handles those mistakes matters. I would have appreciated transparency, professionalism, and someone actually taking ownership of the issue. Instead, I was treated like my concerns were an inconvenience. Based on this experience, I would not stay here again or recommend this hotel to others.

The reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because there is no notification that you have to be a member to enjoy the “free breakfast.” If you’re not a member it’s like $12.50 per person, but they didn’t tell us until we were already there three days. That needs to be disclosed at check-in!

Staff was very friendly. The hotel badly needs updates. The bed was hard and furnishings were worn. We were on the interstate side and the noise level was very high. It sounded like the windows were open, even with sleep buds in and white noise playing. Definitely need to address this.

Justin was our check in clerk, he was excellent. Very courteous, patient to hear my questions and answered. The room was very clean and we were pretty happy with our stay.

Room was clean, front desk staff friendly. The heater did not work in the room and we were immediately moved to a different room. Great stay. The only bad things: the shower head does not have much pressure and the bathe lights are not very bright. It makes it hard to put makeup on.

I was very happy with all aspects of our stay until the last morning-no hot water for our shower. Granted it was the coldest weather Jacksonville has seen in decades but still. Otherwise I loved everything else-your people were wonderful!

From the moment I walked in, I loved this facility. It is well-maintained, classy and just lovely! The staff were all so kind, helpful and full of smiles. Our room was beautiful, clean and blissfully quiet. We will stay here again if in Jacksonville in the future!

Room was very clean. Decided to eat burgers at the bar. The burgers were over cooked. My bun was burnt and the amount of fries given was inadequate for the price. Beware fries DO NOT come with the burgers or any of the entrees. They are separate. For the price, I do not recommend eating at the bar.

The breakfast day 1-3 was cold. We brought this to the attention of the staff and day 4 and 5 found it to be hot and delicious. The manager also comped us some free cocktails at the bar because of the cold breakfast we encountered early in our stay. The entire staff was courteous and always helpful. The facility and our room were clean and neat. If I had any complaint it would be for a firmer mattress for me personally YES, I would recommend and stay again

Staff at check in was pleasant. The first room we received had a wet carpet smell. It was unbearable. The staff jumped right on it and allowed us to get a different room. The second room was just okay but didn’t smell the best neither. Breakfast cost but it’s literally the same breakfast being served at any other typical hotel ( powered eggs, sausage, toast, cereal) but yet you have to pay! I was not satisfied with my stay.

We asked for new room and staff was very nice about it, moved us in different room( bit cleaner) but with an explanation that hotel is very old. Old doesn’t mean stained, in my opinion. Overall stay was not worth the price.

My daughter and I loved staying here! Everyone was super helpful and accommodating. The only thing that was disappointing was the cleanliness of the pool and hot tub.

The rooms were all booked and it was already late so we were limited on where we could go for the night. The night manager Pamela (?) haggled with me about what resolutions were available (refused to offer any compensation until I told her I was calling the GM then offered 25% off) and couldn't say with certainty that this had never happened to other guests before. I would never stay here again. The staff was nice. Justin, Derek, the night bartender, etc. were great but the roach made me cringe. My family slept fully clothed with all of our stuff packed up and left at dawn. I would never stay here again.

Yesterday I arrived at the hotel and I didn’t like anything I saw. The hallways smelled bad, the pool was dirty — it even had pieces of wood in it, and all the debris was settled at the bottom.

Property was good for the price. All surrounding hotels were much higher in price. Nothing to eat around the hotel must have a car or door dash/uber eats.

We only stayed for 1 night so I really could not review everything this hotel had to offer. We needed a hotel near the Mayo clinic that was affordable, clean, and comfortable. This hotel fit the bill. Would stay there again. Staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The hotel was close the everything.

Convenient location, easy access to I-295, staff was great, room was great. Mostly apartments surrounding the hotel, so nothing very close to walk to, but a lot of food and shopping spots within a short drive.

Upon arrival check-in was efficient and quick. The lobby was clean and presentable. The room was clean with the exception of the shower. Soap scum was all over the shower door and hair was on the drain.

The staff was helpful and very friendly. Upon checking in, the room had a weird smell but the front desk came up and sprayed something to freshen it up. She wanted to switch our room but they were booked up. Overall though, it was a decent stay being that we were only there for two nights.

Reserved a room for Friday & Saturday. Showed up early morning Saturday because our journey took a little longer then expected and we were ready to go to bed. Was told our reservation was cancelled because we didn't call to let them know we would be arriving late. So they cancelled our hotel and were sold out. Terrible customer service, the lady at the desk looked at me like I was an idiot and asked why I didn't call. If you are going to cancel my reservation maybe a heads up call saying, "hey are you still coming?" Thanks for nothing. Left us scrambling at 8 am in the morning in Jacksonville after driving 6 hours overnight. Will probably NEVER stay at a Holiday Inn. Customer service was awful. No help just maybe you can get a room at 3 PM. No thanks! Stayed at the Embassy Suites down the road. Great customer service!

The carpet appeared to need cleaning. Two of the pillowcases were extremely wrinkled and didn't smell fresh.

We stayed 1 night and everything looked great. The young lady at the counter was very courteous and cheerful! Rooms were clean and restocked, iced machine worked! I would stay there again.

Dirty place and ac is not working

The house keeper never knocked on my room door at 10:50 and I was in the shower and opened my door. I had the shower door open and I could’ve see the outside when they opens the door from the shower. I was validated because I’m not sure if they saw me through the glass shower.

I've stayed here several times, and it has always been a good choice. It is very convenient to get to the highway, shopping, restaurants, etc. The hotel itself is very clean, and the staff is very friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Tenía reservado 2 habitaciones. Mi esposa llegó lunes y yo martes. Cuando mi esposa hizo el checkin lunes preguntó si al próximo día podría hacer mi checkin porque yo llegaría a las 10pm para nuestras habitaciones estuvieran juntos o cerca. Le indicaron que sí q fuera a las 3pm. Cuando mi esposa va a las 3pm como le indicaron la recepcionista le indicó q no podía . Le explicamos la situación y aun así se mantuvo diciéndolos que no muy grotesca. Cuando yo llego en la noche nos indicaron que no había habitación cerca por lo que nuestra familia tuvimos que dormir en diferentes piso. Esa misma dama nunca nos dio ni un buenas tardes cuando llegábamos

Stay was overall good-no issues. Staff was friendly and room was clean. There were some minor things we noticed inside the room that just needs some repair: the door looked like it was slightly damaged by someone trying to force door open while night latch was on, both lamps had rips on the shades and just looked a little tattered, and some noticeable wear and tear in bathroom vanity. The sink was also awkwardly close to the toilet seat.

Somewhat isolated but quiet and clean. Like other guests have stated, the staff is friendly and accommodating. There is also an amazing park (Fort Family Park) which is in walking distance and perfect for families. Because of my first experience, I already booked another stay.

We were about 10 minutes from all the shopping you wanted, nice restaurants. Slept good and the breakfast was divine. Will stay again 😊

I was vacationing with my family, the stay was uneventful, but often there was no staff at the desk.

We did eat at the restaurant in the hotel. Got burger and a couple of sides all was very good. Needed to be at MAYO Clinic at 7:15a.m.. only 10 to 15 minutes away. Would stay there again. Great for the price.

Property was “hidden away”, was at a cul-de-sac and was very quiet. Staff was amazing, only issue I had was with the bathroom: water pressure was weak and the shower curtain was so high that it barely met the edge of the tub, so water was able to get all over the floor.

The room room was cleanish but the carpet was gross. Toilet didn’t work but they had not other room to put us in. Manager came with plunger one time but it was not working properly. Head boards looked grimy. Everything just needed a deep clean and the hotel needs updating.

Hotel has everything we needed. Microwave, hangers, clean linen and clean room. Breakfast was ok, nothing exciting but good. Staff helped when we had questions. I would have liked clean towels after a couple days but again it’s ok. We stayed 3 nights. I will stay here again.

A little off the beaten path, but still convenient to get to just about anything in the greater Jacksonville area.

It’s what you expect from Holiday Inn.

No Amenities. Air Conditioner not working. Breakfast not available. Restaurant on site not open until 5:00. Nothing to drink water out of in room. No coffee maker. Carpet filthy. Worst Holiday Inn I have ever stayed at. Keys didn’t work—twice. The only thing good about it was the bed was comfortable and there was hot water. Not what I expected at all!

The AC in our original room, 324, made a good awful noise so they moved us to 309 but, that AC also made a noise but, not as bad as the first room

This stay was a spur of the moment necessity/ For the price it just was not worth it. The breakfast was extra and we paid for it just not to be offered it in the morning. The beds were awful. My back, my hips and my knees were in terrible pain. I did not sleep at all. It was a horrible value. I will say that the Burgers and Brews Restaurant was exceptional. I highly rrecommenf the Farmhouse Burger with a side of tots. This was the only good thing about our stay.

Clean and well kept. I was very pleasantly impressed. Pictures on the internet so often do not reflect the actual property. The room was clean and in great condition. Only minor issue that needs address was the air conditioner unit would not let me adjust the temperature. But other than that one item I would definitely recommend.

My husband immediately called the front desk, and they told him that due to a system error, our room had been mistakenly assigned to someone else. This is completely unacceptable. A mistake like this not only disrupts a guest’s stay but also creates a serious security issue. We expected a relaxing and safe stay, but instead, we were left feeling unsettled and disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stress-free experience.

I would have given them a higher rating but for housekeeping to not leave an extra roll of toilet paper and run out at 4am was not good. Also to have a coffee station that does not have tea and hot water not an A for sure. Excellence is in the details!
