Located literally right near the elevator, right near the lobby and right across from the exercise room. Seriously, that particular room should not be given to anyone staying there. People were loud and it was not the best experience. That particular room should be blocked off for any guests. Out of ALL the rooms in the whole entire hotel, she had to gives us THAT one. Please don’t do that to your future guests. Nothing wrong with the room itself but the location was terrible. I wouldn’t rate the hotel badly, but it’s unfortunate that we were given that particular room.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. LOVE the breakfast offerings every morning and cookies and lemonade available in the evenings. My favorite place to stay in Jax!!

It was close to where we needed to be. It wasn’t as clean as I would have preferred. We had to ask several times for clean towels.

The staff was super nice and kind! The room was clean and spacious. When I need to be in Jacksonville again, this will be my 'go to' place!

Fair breakfast selection, room was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. My sister said it needs to be updated but I’ve stayed here multiple times and thought it was fine.

Overall, the property is clean and the rooms are furnished appropriately. However there was an incident that reflects management's view of its customers. On the second day of our four day stay, shortly after breakfast, my wife and I noticed a very strong odor which gave us both a headache. I checked the hallway and the odor was much stronger. I went to the front desk to inquire about the problem and was told that they were painting the room across the hall. They said that the windows were open and a fan was in use. They said the smell would "dissipate in a while." When I asked to speak to the manager, the front desk clerk went behind a partition and spoke with the manager. She came back and told us that the manager was too busy to talk with us. I asked for information as to the type of paint that was making us sick and was told that they didn't know. They said that they would provide that information before the end of our stay which they never did. To avoid becoming more nauseous, my wife & I had to leave the hotel for several hours. Not once was there an apology or an offer to switch rooms. We usually stay at this hotel 2 or 3 times a year but will never return as it is obvious that they do not consider the safety of their guests as a priority.

Furnishings were old. Room needs to be updated. Shower wouldn't drain. Only thing that was good was the bed was comfortable.

What a wonderful staff and property. Very clean inside and outside. Room was cozy and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was amazing and the fresh brewed coffee hit the spot. Just a wonderful stay all the way around and will definitely stay there again.

The staff were really great, A+, no complaints. The room though…it smelled like mold/mildew and the carpet felt damp our whole stay, I wore my shoes it was so bad. It felt a little run down. The toilet reservoir was kinda detached and leaning back against the wall which made me nervous. It felt like it needed some TLC for sure.

The front desk staff was wonderful. The room and building were clean. I was pleasantly surprised that it was located next to a shopping center for ease of pertaining items that I might need without going far.

There was a lot of construction with no warning

Staff was courteous; room was clean. Breakfast assortment was okay, but overall quality of some items were less than we're used to receiving (pancakes, breakfast meat).

In the first room I had I need to be moved because the television wasn't working then I went to another room it was much better. The toilets in the in the rooms are very very low like not for regular size people maybe for children. And the bathroom was not clean. The staff is very friendly but the facility needs some major updating it is very old outdated and things don't work right. Not your typical Holiday Inn express.

The first night i slept i had a very bad allergic reaction, i was going to complain but i let it go. We arrived late to the check in the first day because we drove from michigan and we called in advance to let them know and they didn’t tell overnight shift or whoever was in charge at the time we eventually went to check in . it was very annoying because we did call in advance. But we let it go until i got a bad reaction the first night. He was having trouble finding us a clean room and the room we got was very dirty, the bed specifically but also the shower the room smelled like eggs the bathroom shower started smelling like eggs and also the ac unit started smelling like burnt. We didn’t say anything but we were very concerned. second night we got new sheets and i still got an allergic reaction. I was very overwhelmed and overstimulated about it that i had bad sleep because of it. I have a picture of how my back was but it’s not letting me post it but it was very bad. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel only for the cleanliness, the staff was nice tho.

This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. It was absolutely disgusting and so humid in the rooms that you constantly felt damp. The un-used towels were damp, the toilet paper and tissues were damp as well as the bed sheets. We changed rooms and it was the exact same. We also stayed with a group and all rooms had the same complaint. Mold, mildew and so dirty. The roaches on the floor

Overall was fine. Beds were comfy except I had to ask for a replacement comforter because there were stains on the one on the bed. There were some food stains on the ceiling and food crumbs in between the bed and the nightstand. We were on the side of the hotel where there was a TON of noise from traffic. Like sounded like motorcycle races which obviously the hotel can’t do anything about. Loved that it was walking distance to stores and a few fast food places. Ample parking. Breakfast was excellent. The bathroom didn’t have any exhaust fan, which I thought was odd. Hallways were hot as if the AC was off. AC unit in the room worked fine but made a lot of clicking noises and was loud turning on and off.

The hotal was very nice, and the staff was awesome. The only issue we had, was when my wife and I was packing our bags to leave, we saw what appeared to be bed bugs. We told the staff, and they took care of this immediately. If it wasn't for this issue, I would've given the property five stars on everything.

Great place to stay when traveling further south in Florida.

I didn't like paying the extra $100.00!!! I didn't like their toilets so low to floor you better not have knee or back problems!

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Jacksonville and had an awful experience. Items were stolen directly from my room, and when I tried to address it with management, I was unable to reach the manager after multiple attempts. The staff showed no urgency or concern over such a serious issue, and I’ve received no follow-up or resolution. A hotel should be a safe place where guests can trust that their belongings are secure—unfortunately, that was not the case here. The complete lack of accountability or communication from management makes this even worse. I will not be returning, and I strongly advise others to think twice before booking at this location.

For being right off the interstate, this was really quite nice.. The room was clean and well appointed, although the pump conditioner in the shower didn’t work, so housekeeping missed that issue. The staff was wonderful and there were good restaurants within a mile of the hotel.

I had to find somewhere last second sense I ended up stranded in Jacksonville (I’m from NC) the staff was quick, and kind. The breakfast was incredible (biscuits and gravy to die for).

The location was perfect for shopping and any other thing you wanted to do plus it is right off the highway so you can get to where you need to fast.

The property stated hotels.com did not send authorization for more than one night so they charged my card for the remaining balance hotels.com did not send, after I was already charged the full stay by hotels.com. The front desk and housekeeping manager told me I would have to leave during the middle of my stay due to the issue with hotels.com sending them the balance. It was a nightmare. They said they resolved it, updated my room keys, then continued to double charge me anyway. I had to get both parties involved to work it out among themselves. They made their issue between two businesses MY RESPONSIBILITY. My refund should be issued tomorrow. This was a nightmare!

This is a very clean and comfortable hotel. ALL of the staff were friendly and helpful. The beds were amazingly comfortable. Also we accidentally left a very expensive pair of boots in our room and the front desk called to let us know and we were able to retrieve the boots! We appreciate the honesty and courtesy of the staff for that!!! We will be staying here every time we visit Jacksonville in the future!

The room had lots of nats in it. Could not get rid of them. This was horrible.

It served its purpose. I wish I chose one closer to the airport. Expedia didn’t do a good job with that. But the place was clean, the food was good, and the staff were excellent.

Had a good experience at this Holiday Inn. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Unfortunately our room faced the highway so the road noise was not ideal for sleeping. All in all though we thought the place was good and we would visit again but maybe ask for a room on the other side.

We have stayed here a few times, but it seems that it is going downhill. We were required to put up a $100 deposit - in case we wrecked our room. Those are the clerks exact words. I doubt we will be back.

Check in was perfect!!! When entering room appeared to be clean. We were there on business. We didn’t shower that night. We attempted to shower next morning, to see that the tub was stopped up, so disgusting couldn’t even shower for the water raising up in the tub. Staff should check all rooms when cleaning “” if that’s what being done. Honestly I don’t think so, just doing the bare minimum. That’s why I bring all cleaning supplies. But couldn’t even shower

The staff are always on their phones and not working, this Property smells like smoke all the time, advised front dest and they would not help because we went through expedia, expedia and ihg should be ashamed of this listing.

One Star off because our ac would not go lower than 74 despite being set in 70 and the hallway smelled strongly of weed. Thankfully it didn’t come into the room. We would stay again

Now for the bad… entire hotel smells like weed and rotten eggs If you stay on the side facing the on ramp to the interstate it sounds like you are sitting in the stands at the Daytona 500 all night. Terrible experience. Didn’t get any sleep between the loud guest above me and the location of my room.

We stay at the Holiday Inn express every time we go on a trip. This was our second time at this particular property. Due to a recent hurricane, there were several families there who had been placed by FEMA. Needless to say there were several dogs and several small children whom I must say behaved well. Our problem is the fire alarm went off several times during our stay. We were in a handicapped room which I wasn’t thrilled about to begin with, but we figured we would stick it out. When the alarms went off at all hours of the day and night they were loud , shrill, and the bright lights blinked on and off in our room. We had no control over that. Also, the hotel is in need of updating. The paint on the board in the part of the walk-in shower is actually worn off. Housekeeping was great. Staff was OK. I felt as if a couple of people could’ve been a little nicer. They would not let us turn the lights on in the dining area Until 6:30 AM, even though we were wanting to play cards in there earlier than 6:30 AM. So we played in the dark. We will use Holiday Inn express again and this is the first time that we have actually been unhappy. I think it was just a matter of circumstance.

This hotel was very friendly the room was clean, the bed was super comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, the staff worked with me when I had had issues with the thermostat, and when hotel staff learned why I was there they were very supportive, and I even extended my stay another day. And had no issues when I added a dog to my room. I would most definitely suggest anyone looking for a place to stay to go there, and if I am ever in the area again and needed a place to stay, I would most definitely go there.

We had a very nice day with our grandson. The room is clean. The staff was great and it was close to everywhere we wanted to be.

Breakfast area was very clean and organized. Even varied the main offering over the two days i was there. Room very nice, only slight issue was for some reason the room did not get service between days so had to get one fresh towel at front desk. Shower curtain slightly dirty on inside. Shower soap pump did not work so used the hair shampoo pump to wash with .. LOL The toilets was very low. Would be very helpful for seniors with arthritis or those with other mobility issues to have more modern higher rise ones.

My only complaint is that I had to get a new room key three different times because they ckept on getting demagnetized. Just update the system. Invest in the property. Otherwise everything was nice. Staff was awesome.

Elevators were not working and no discount was offered due to inconvenience. Had to carry heavy luggage up to 3rd floor with a hurt shoulder. I understand things happens and equipment breaks, but a discount should have been provided.

Staff was excellent. However, the bedspread smelled stale. Holiday Inn needs to think about changing it’s detergent brand and have something with more deodorant or fragrance.

You can always count on Holiday inn Express. They are always clean and the staff is always friendly. The only thing I wish they would update is there technology. You cannot stream TV apps on their televisions because they are not smart TVs. You have to have a Roku with you in order to be able to do that. And you cannot charge your phone if you do not have a cube to bridge the gap between your charger cord and receptacle. There are no places that you can directly plug in a charger cord without using a cube.
