Reviews
The hotel is praised for its historic charm, beachfront location, and friendly staff. However, some guests express disappointment with the noise levels, outdated rooms, and maintenance issues.
- Historic charm and character
- Beachfront location
- Noise levels, particularly from events and parties
- Outdated rooms and maintenance issues

Unfortunately, the stay itself was disappointing. Upon arrival, the evening front desk employee was rude and unfriendly. She had trouble locating our reservation and seemed annoyed that it had been booked through a third-party site. The room did not cool well, making it uncomfortable at times. There was also some type of equipment above the closet that activated about once an hour and made noise for roughly a minute each time, which was disruptive. The towels were very thin and worn and seemed overdue for replacement. If that's important to you, consider bringing your own. To make matters worse, we were awakened at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday by drilling or construction noise. Overall, while the location is excellent, the building is in need of significant updates, and the service and room conditions did not meet expectations.

We checked out as soon as we could. The place may be historic, but it’s so run down. It needs major work. The beds were terrible and sleeping on the ground would have been tha thepull out couch.
- 5/5
First and foremost, this hotel is in an excellent location. Literally steps from the beach and right in the heart of Jacksonville Beach. There is free parking in the lot across the street, which is very convenient. Our room was large and comfortable. The property is old, which I don't mind, but it could use a little bit of TLC. The outside area in the back (where we came down the steps to go to the beach) is filled with old kitchen equipment and other things, that could just be thrown out and the area cleaned up. The towels - particularly - need an upgrade. They are thin and just not very nice. Small little things like that could be a huge improvement. The other thing I will say is that the rooms are described as "ocean view". Yes, you can technically see the ocean if you look hard enough out your window, but none of the rooms on this property face the ocean. After all is said and done, we would definitely stay at this hotel again, but fixing a few small maintenance issues would make a big improvement.

It’s historic but needs major renovations

The dtaff was so friendly and helpful! The breakfast was great and the hotel was very clean. Just wish they had a pool or access to one with neighbor hotel.

Location near the beach. Size was intimate. But that's it. The place was under construction and no one warned us. It is an old property and that's OK, but it FEELS old and unkept. The rooftop is a major asset but it lacks nice places to sit. The breakfast salon is large with vaulted ceilings.. could be a major asset but instead it has a few folding chairs and tables. Breakfast is bone-basic and served on folding tables. The front door is faded and full of major scratches. It's a shame because, again, it's supposed to look old but it could be majestic if it were well kept.
- 5/5
The hotel is literally steps away from the beach. My boyfriend and I had an awesome day at the beach. The hotel is in walking distance of a ton of different restaurants and bars. The water pressure in the faucets could have been better. The bedroom tv was not a smart tv and the living area sofa was somewhat small.

Historical irreplaceable hotel. The list of famous past guest s is truly impressive. And the fact that it is haunted is also plus. I think the spirits never wanted to leave and that's why they stay. You should stay there at least once I'd send your lifetime. The location on the beach is also superb.

Direct access to the beach, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Free parking. Breakfast included.
- 4/5
very comfortable. Loved the old fashioned look and feel, yet with modern conveniences. Unfoortunately, they had construction going on in the lobby, no doubt an improvement to their facility, but it was a little loud and impacted their serving and seating guests for breakfast. Understand that it is totally unavoidable. Other than that, it was great!!! We will definitely go again!!

What a classic, well-staffed gem of history in a most beautiful beachfront setting! Nothing compares with a Penthouse martini while watching the sunset’s colors.

Great location I love the access and can’t wait to see the upgrades. The towels need updating they are dingy, no microwaves in the rooms or ice machines on the floor.
- 3/5
I looked for cheap, and you get what pay for. Admittedly, the hotel is a 101 year old classic with charm and management is giving the place a few upgrades, but the property could use full renovation. Rooms, HVAC and plumbing are dated, complete w cockroaches.
- 5/5
The staff tried very hard to get us a room with a better view but one was not to be had. I appreciated their efforts.

Reserved Grand Suite in March for May stay. Room overlooked roof & A/C units for bldg, NOT SO GRAND. TV/phone lines intermittent off/on. No staff to help 74 woman & downs syndrome child with luggage. NO LUXURY AMENITIES as advertised. No hotel guideline literature in room. Exposed overloaded plugs. Mini frig froze hard boiled eggs & everything in it. Power outage in room only discovered when I came back at 7:45p.m., now everything in frig melted & spoiled😩. Dingy (& a little stiff) towels. Water avail in lobby beverage dispenser, not in room. No microwave, No glasses. Bedroom ceiling fan didn't work. No in room temperature controls. Just don't, you'll be frustrated & disappointed.

Lovely stay in this historic hotel. They are in the midst of remodeling so there was a little noise but they stopped at a very reasonable hour. The breakfast was delicious and hot.

The front desk staff were nice and helpful. The room, although small, was comfortable and the bed was very comfortable (I slept great!) The shower was nice, the water warmed up nicely. The breakfast was very good...delicious hot and cold options. Some fresh fruit would be nice too. Maybe some flavored creamer options for the coffee? There was a little too much light coming from around the door at night (especially around the hinges/door jam). I managed to prop the pillow in such a way for it not to be a distraction as the distance from the bed to the door is fairly close. I would recommend updating the shower head, as the one (at least in my room) was small and sprayed funny. Lastly, from time to time, I could hear a cycling motor noise in the wall, around the closet area. It would come on, cycle, and then off....not sure what that was, it was a little annoying. One other thing...I know it couldn't be avoided, but renovations began while I was there rendering the elevator inoperable, thus making it necessary to use the stairs (not a huge thing) every time I either went to the beach or to go eat, etc. My legs got a little tired. This minor inconvenience may have been more bothersome for others.

Nothing but the location….. Very old everything. Room door didn’t stay closed unless it was locked….. Bath tub had rust in it… Bed was very low to the ground and uncomfortable…. Hotel has very very dirty carpet throughout the hotel…. Had to be moved to another due to condition of first room and second room was a bit better but will NEVER stay at that hotel again…

The Casa Marina had really kind people working there, a great location, and awesome vibe at the bar upstairs. The property seems like it is on the verge of being torn down or something, however, as it is beyond dilapidated. The couches, carpets etc were severely stained and dirty, light bulbs were out, there was no door on the closet, and the towels were old and tiny. Windows were dirty and light fixtures dusty. However, it was the cheapest option in the neighborhood and again, the staff was very kind! The bar/restaurant was also out of most of the food and many people ordered drinks that were not available because the alcohol ran out. I'm thinking they are probably going to close for a while based on the experience. I hope it bounces back!
- 2.5/5
It was close to the beach and event that we attended. The evening/night auditor was very helpful and kind. The weekend dayshift front desk person could use a course on customer service. The complimentary breakfast was good and the man maintaining the breakfast was very kind and had great customer service skills. The views from our room windows were obscured by air conditioners and parking lots. I envisioned having a beach view… I was so disappointed. The interior in the rooms were substandard. I understand it is a historical building but the room 214 was clean but outdated. There is much needed cosmetic repairs needed to ceilings and walls. Maybe some paint too! I feel we got the worst room in the hotel! The slave quarters maybe. The mattress was old, lopsided and uncomfortable. The towels were grey and dingy. I wish I had brought my own towels. The room 214 is above the kitchen and below the restaurant. It was very noisy and you could hear people going up and down the outside metal stairs.

Check-In was super quick and easy. The pictures of the property are spot-on. Breakfast was good (same choices every day). The Penthouse Lounge/Deck was excellent and was awesomely convenient. It is an older building, but they are currently renovating. A great place to stay!!!

I liked the location best. Right on the beach and near many restaurants and bars. The penthouse bar was also a nice plus! It felt more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel.

We love the location very close to shops restaurants and the fact it was right on the beach made it wonderful The only complaint that I can even think of was that our TV in the living room we were unable to watch anything it had been programmed into someone's account and we couldn't remove it

An amazing location and an historical property. It has great potential to be lovely, however, it is currently undergoing renovations and it may be that not all of the rooms or the breakfast area and outdoor spaces are not completed. There was no mention of this on the website or on Booking.com. The windows weren’t clean and the towels were thin and discolored.
- 4/5
Charming and once the renovations are done will be nice I fell down the slope ramp because someone decided to spray it w furn polish or something. The rooftop is not a restaurant as implied. No water pressure whatsoever.

Excellent hotel in the area. Staff was so friendly! There is no parking lot for the hotel. Parking is in the strip mall across the street. While we had heard there was parking issues we did find public parking very close to the hotel that we paid for for a few hours till the mall cleared out and then moved there. Would definitely visit here again!

My stay included a full breakdown and home made waffles. Everything was delicious.

We loved this rare find. Right on the beach. Over a 100 years old with tons of charm. We would stay her again in a heartbeat. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Our room had a great little TV room and a view of the ocean. We loved it. More charm than all of the other modern hotels on the beach. Their breakfast was great too, eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles. I think there were some other options too, but that’s what we had. We loved this place.
- 2/5
The rooms def need to be cleaned more thoroughly. The accent chair in my room was very dirty. The pillows need to be replaced and the towels were stained and threadbare. Overall, the property needs renovating. BUT the staff were warm and friendly. I wouldn't consider staying there again unless they renovate and hire a better cleaning service.
- 2/5
This hotel is 100 years old which I knew but even though some updates, towels very old, no glasses in the room. But the biggest problem is the nightclub on the third floor. Given the age of the hotel it was very very loud until midnight and given the location, late night party goers were also loud. The staff is friendly and it is historic. We paid for another room second night even though we were late to a refund. We needed sleep. And stayed at Margaritaville. Which was excellent!!!
- 4/5
Breakfast buffet was limited but fresh, hot and delicious. Location is fantastic for walking to restaurants, bars and beachwear shops. Property is historic so with that you get small rooms, loud hallways and old plumbing, but at least it’s clean. Rooftop bar is a nice bonus. Wi-fi was good. Free parking across the street and helpful staff.

The staff is excellent and super friendly!! When I arrived they had told me they upgraded my room since there was availability. I thought that was very kind of them!! Super CLEAN place and very comfortable! It is a neat hotel that is super cool and vintage yet modern also. The ONLY drawback is I was on the first floor and you can hear everything. The people above me stomped around a lot and unfortunately you can hear every step. The other thing is you can hear all hallway noise and people talking. I’m sure it’s part of it being an historic building but I did bring a fan and that helped when sleeping. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again with a fan.

All the bars at the hotel were closed and the rooftop bar area was also closed. The restaurant at the hotel was also closed. I booked this hotel because we wanted to spend time on the rooftop and the complimentary breakfast was also a big factor and we did not receive any of these things. We were not made aware prior to arriving about any of these closures and the hotel made no efforts to offer discounts, reimbursements, or accommodations to make up for this. Also the locks on the doors were broken so we had to get a front desk agent to follow us up to open our door for us every time we left the room. Not at all the romantic getaway we were expecting. Overall very disappointed and I want a refund. Will not be staying here again

Staff was courteous. Interesting building, older room with shabby renovations. Clicker malfunctioned. No hangers. Fan and mini fridge made a variety of noises. Bar uncomfortable. All avoidable with the hiring of a qualified maintenance guy and some updates to lighting, paint, tile, etc. in the middle of the night guy in room above me started talking to himself, moving chairs, stomping around, he yelled at front desk ( also heard by me, do not accept rm 108 for any reason) and continued to rant from 3:20a til 4:30am. It was cheap and there are like 32 bars within walking distance.

Full disclosure - this is a 100 year old hotel so keep that in mind. Room was small, TV was small, little furniture in the room other than a bed. Had to use mini-fridge as nightstand. Back to the bed, the head of the bed was significantly lower than the foot, so sleeping on it was uncomfortable with your head lower than your feet. Didn't try shower as it was long and narrow and claustrophobic. There is no parking at the hotel, you must compete with everyone else for the available beach parking. All in all, I'd rate the property as "tired". Hot breakfast was OK, they do have the waffle maker still. We prepaid for 2 nights but left after the 1st since the bed was so uncomfortable.

Mary, the night host was perfect. She made us feel at home. Our room was nice. My husband had a problem with the fact the blinds would not completely lower. This stay was a bukket list item for me and I knew wanted to stay around the air show time because they have an awesome rooftop bar. Now the air show was very limited this year and that was no fault of the hotel, but they wouldnt let us upstairs unless paid another 60.00 a person. I get it was a ticketed event but this is one reason I booked this hotel. The air show was only 45 minutes because of the govt shutdown. Its crazy they wouldnt let guests attend. I only saw like 4 people up there. So I get it but i think they could have been more accommodating. They didnt really seem to care that its a reason i chose their hotel. That tells me that they probably really wouldnt care about us as customers at all. Anyway , room wasnt anything special but its still a solid choice if staying at Jax beach for a wedding there. Clean and pretty property. Breakfast food was good.

First off this is a very old hotel which I understand, but the rooms have no character I get they are smaller rooms. Dirty floors had to wear my shoes all over the room. The bed was so uncomfortable felt like you were in a hammock. Saw a roach on top of the fridge that was in our room. I come from Florida so I get there can be roaches but this was a German cockroach which mostly means dirty. The room was overlooking the courtyard which would be fine except you can hear everything! There was a party until 9 which no big deal but then we were below the bar so you could hear them breaking down the live music and such coming down the stairs. You could hear everything! We got no sleep in this hotel at all not relaxing. I would say great for an event but not good for sleeping. Great Location easy to get to everything, but I just thought it being a historic hotel they would keep up with it more. Make the rooms nicer and charge a little more if you have to. I have stayed in many historic hotels and houses and it wasn't nearly as bad as this stay. Would not recommend! Go party there and leave!

I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is 100 years old. So if you want a cookie cutter big Chain experience, this probably isn’t for you. The hotel has wooden floors, and you walk out the back door literally onto the beach. Mary, the staff member on duty when I checked in was incredibly friendly. If there’s a wedding going on during the weekend, it will be noisy because the building is small and old. But it’s unbelievably charming. I stayed in two hotels while I was in Jacksonville. The first was the Hyatt downtown, the seconds this Hotel. I stayed in the Hyatt first. If I had stayed in this one first, I would never have left. I would stay again in a heartbeat. It’s just that vintage-feeling and so very lovely.

I loved the ocean view upstairs in the bar and the exterior area, and the history of the place, It is unique. I wish there was an overhang at the entrance to protect you from rain when checking in, unloading and loading your car. The parking was across the street so it felt a bit sketching not being on private property. But that wasn't, as it turned out, a big deal. Some deep cleaning overall is needed. Particularly in the room I was in had dark dust/mold on the ac vent, and the ceiling fan was dusty. That being said everything else was clean and the furniture nice, bed comfortable. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Also, the ac works great and the fridge even has a little freezer which helps keep your ice. The room needed at least one chair. An ice machine on each floor would be nice but they do bring it to you on request--just different. The day I checked in there was an event of 300 people related to a local surf contest. Though very loud, it started at 5 pm, it was amusing and full of very polite young folks having a great time. The good news is the hotel has a hard stop at 10:30 pm. It literally went from the biggest loudest party one minute to complete silence the next right at the stop time. That is amazing!!!! I had a few friends visit that over the course of a two night stay and we had a blast in my room and in the bar. It's a great hotel for people who love the ocean, historical buildings, are open minded, and not expecting one of the "top 40" hotel experiences.

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at Casa Marina. Its history and the fact that is about 100 yds from the ocean were the biggest draws. The rooftop bar and its wonderful view were also an added benefit. The staff at the front desk were great - helpful and focused on making your stay memorable. I sing its praises to friends, and as a Floridian, I will be returning after our season winds down.

I love the beachfront location! The old hotel has charm, but there were issues with the TVs and bathroom! The TV in the living room had no sound and the bedroom TV had sound with a fuzzy picture! The bathroom needs a better showerhead and a hook on the door to hang clothes! Some of the electrical outlets didn’t work! There was not a smoke detector in the bedroom! Breakfast was okay! The Wedding I attended at the location was wonderful! Also the bedroom in room 215 could use a blackout curtain.

There is no parking. Receptionists never look up or greet you ever throughout the entire weekend. Rooms are musty, dirty, had used towels in the bathroom. The shampoo and conditioner dispenser was filled but the product was so old it has separated This is the loudest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Between the dj playing music til 1am on the floor above us and the wedding dj playing music below us, the entire weekend was no sleep. Cleaning staff was yelling at each other and sitting in the laundry room area for long periods of time.

This hotel is RIGHT on the beach. The continental breakfast was superb- hot foods, juices, fruitcup freshly sliced, bagels, muffins. We had signed up for a room with a sleeper sofa. The sofa wasn't a sleeper. They quickly brought in a rollaway that my son said was VERY comfortable. The hotel was celebrating their 100th anniversary when we were there, and their was a wedding as well, which made it a little loud. The parking can be tricky- the lot is across the street, and is sometimes full. All in all, we had a great stay.

We enjoyed our stay at this historic hotel. Staff were very friendly and location was great. The room was spacious, but the bed was a little springy and bedroom tv didn’t work. There was another TV in the separate room that did work. The towels were extremely small and poor quality. The sheets were also awful. Towels and sheets felt like they were as old as the hotel! The water pressure in the shower was nearly nonexistent. We had a cockroach and few other small insects in the room. We loved the photos of the area in the past on the walls throughout the hotel and the old fashioned phone in the room. The area is walkable and bike-able.

The staff were excellent. So friendly and accommodating. Location can't be beat, steps away from the beach. Take advantage of the sunrise, you won't regret it. The hotel is beautiful and historic with wonderful photos in the hallways. Only negative is the noise level on the weekends due to the rooftop bar. I wore earplugs and didn't have a problem but my room was far from the bar.

Casa Marina Hotel is as charming as the pictures on the website. The hotel receptionist, Mary, was so kind and friendly. We got to check in early, which was great. The hotel is classic 1920s but with modernized areas throughout. Our room was beautiful! Beachy colors with neutrals and dark wood accents… it was perfect! If you get a room on the second floor you will have the most beautiful view of the ocean through the dunes. The cost per night was less than a larger hotel/resort and gave so much appreciation for architecture and Jacksonville history. And there is a continental breakfast that is free for guests. It was delightful. Everything was amazing! We will definitely be back!

The 100 yr old hotel was neat. The walls are thin so sadly we did not sleep well a few nights due to our neighbors. Rooftop bar served delicious food and drinks. Vibe was fun, talented live music and an amazing view of the ocean.
- 3/5
Casa Marina is like a grand old lady--she could use a makeover, but she certainly has character. Bathroom fixtures were outdated, almost non-functional and wiring was wonky.
- 5/5
The hotel has la great location. The building is old but well kept. Parking is not available on the property. But M-F guests can park in surrounding areas free. But weekends you pay.
- 5/5
My stay was comfortable, my trip was for R&R and the location and atmosphere of the hotel was perfect for that. Mattress could have been better😊
- 5/5
The Hotel is very cute. The cleanliness was everything and perfect. It gave a real "I'm at home" feel and the price was just right.
- 4/5
Great location at the beach in Jacksonville Beach. Classic old hotel built in Spanish missionary style. The interior has charm. It shows wear and tear though. We enjoyed to sit at the rooftop bar overlooking the beach having a drink.
- 5/5
Our stay at the Casa Marina Hotel was amazing! Beach is walking distance, lots of restaurants/night life in very close vicinity. Accommodations we were in, excellent!
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Unique hotel with great breakfast and perfect location.
- 5/5
We were told the breakfast was excellent but it wasn't, coffee had run pot one day, the eggs were dried up.not enough effort was put into the preparation..
- 5/5
Loved the historical photos which were in the halls, the building is beautiful. We were greeted by friendly staff, she brought us an extra pillow, glasses for the room. Walked over the hill and there's the beach! Thank you, we will be back! We never knew the history of Jacksonville Beach, and we're right down the road a couple hours.
- 3/5
The hotel is very neat and we loved the location however there was quite a bit of damage. Also there were 3 roaches under the fridge when we first arrived. Other than that we didn't see any more bugs.
- 4/5
Very nice hotel. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was top tier! Will definitely be back.
- 3/5
When I checked in, I asked for an oceanfront room. Instead, I was given a room that overlooked the courtyard. The front desk clerk seemed sort of baffled, and couldn't figure out how to run my credit card. Less than a stellar experience overall.
- 5/5
The hotel is located right on the beach. It was a beautiful older hotel with tons of charm. The price was great. It is an older hotel but it we were very happy with everything. Room is smaller sized but you're outside on the beach most of the time!
- 4/5
Enjoyed the old school appeal to the hotel and close to the beach
- 3/5
I’ve stayed here many times and loved it but check-in Wednesday night was not as welcoming and definitely gave me a room much inferior to previous rooms I have stayed in. No water pressure or view and rooms were not booked. I love Casa Marina and the rooftop restaurant but this trip was disappointing for
- 5/5
Nice place, great ambience. Some things are a little outdated, but I would definitely stay again.
- 2/5
The hotel is very dated and minimalist. It is very overpriced for what you get. The premises will require a large investment to get competitive.
- 5/5
Even though there was a wedding going on we were greeted and checked in in a timely manner. Staff was very friendly and helpful as always. We love staying at the Casa!
- 3/5
This place was decent. I loved the old feel it has. However when i entered my roo. There was a huge roach or bug of some kind. The AC unit was very loud and the tub was very slick. I liked the room overall tho.
- 5/5
We stayed here after our beach wedding for a few days. We love the Casa Marina, and it all started with our first date on the rooftop area…it has one of the best views of the beach and the pier. They are getting ready for the 100 year anniversary celebration. It is on the National Register of Historic Places Est. 1925. We will continue to come and stay here. Mary at the front desk is amazing!
- 5/5
Absolutely stunning hotel with the friendliest staff. Right on the beach and very affordable. 10 stars!
- 4/5
We loved our view of the ocean from our room. For an older hotel it is very well kept. We will probably go back agyan stay longer
- 5/5

Beautiful property. especially if you appreciate older hotels, It has a lot of history . Great customer service. Very much appreciated late checkout and complimentary breakfast.
- 5/5
Quiet and restful yet within walking distance to beach life. Much prefer over modern high rise hotels with masses of people. I will return!

- 5/5
Clean overall Good food

I've been to this hotel for weddings, new year's eve, and for the bar upstairs. This was my first time booking a room. The room was bigger than expected. There was a view of the courtyard and the beach from our windows. It was walking distance to all of the bars and restaurants we had planned on visiting that night. Parking was right across the street as well. Free breakfast in the morning was very basic, but not bad. I did not turn on the TV or use the WiFi. I would stay here again.
- 4/5
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. Its a short walk to the beach. The property and rooms were clean. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The only downside was the wifi. It was not strong enough. We kept getting kicked out of an online meeting. That was frustrating. Other then that it was great!

- 5/5
It was a great historic hotel. They have done well with updating it. The staff we had contact with were very helpful and friendly.
- 4/5
Everything was goof
- 3/5
The hotel has potential to be nice. But it's old and run down and in need of renovating. The floors in our room and the stair railing were sticky, which was gross. The stairs also were in need of a sweep/vacuum. Most of the staff were nice, except for one front desk person/perhaps manager. Being on the beach was nice and the drink prices are good. The beds were comfortable. We were told we would be able to work downstairs, but come to find out there's not many options and then were none, due to several events being held. Considering the condition and the cleanliness, we would likely not stay again.

An old-school hotel... Rooms are spacious and clean and renovations are well done. However stairs need cleaning. We saw the reviews about being noisy during events and thought we were safe on a Monday night. Who would have thought someone would host a Monday wedding? No sleep until after 11!

We absolutely loved our stay and will be back! The staff was so sweet and extremely helpful! The beach was right there and the room was extremely clean and smelt great! There was one tile that was falling off in our shower but for us it wasn’t a big deal because everything else was amazing!

Our room was oceanfront and included a sofa bed; however, it turned out to be a regular sofa. The staff was very quick to bring us a cot, which ended up being very comfortable for my son. The only downside was that, because the hotel is older, the floors creak and the walls are thin. Since our room was located right above the dance floor, we could feel the bass and hear the music from the wedding well into the night. Thankfully, the music did stop after midnight, allowing us to finally get some rest. In the morning, we could hear guests in the courtyard during breakfast, as well as music from the restaurant below. Parking was also a bit of a challenge, as it was located across the street and sometimes hard to find a spot. Overall, despite the noise and parking inconvenience, I would definitely return — it’s a beautiful and charming place to stay!

We booked this hotel on the basis that it was free parking - what we wasn’t told was that free parking is limited and there were no spaces so we had to pay for parking. We booked a traditional suite but were put in a standard room until I complained and we were then moved to the room we had booked and paid for. The worst thing about the stay was that there was a wedding on which we were not told about until arrival. It was unbearably noisy until well into the early hours. The floors were wooden and the room above were constantly rearranging the furniture. The hotel is not equipped to have weddings when other guests are staying at the hotel as there is no escape from the noise.

Old, classic hotel. Staff excellent - helpful and friendly. Not as antiseptic as a newer property, but we like that. Great location - everything you need within easy reach. We parked across the street and didn't move the vehicle for 3 days. No problem for us, but it might be an issue if the area is busier.

The facility was actually very nice and the staff was great. We just happened to arrive on a wedding party night and the place was a zoo. That said, I would give them a good rating, it was charming and I wish we had caught this location on a somewhat less hectic night.

Unfortunately we were there when there were weddings and the noise was unbearable. Needed to check out early.

A gem. The penthouse bar should be on the must do list in Jacksonville.

Great classic hotel. Fairly clean, but could do a bit more cleaning in corners, elevator, etc. Overall nice otherwise.
