Fantastic stay at the Kimpton Shorebreak. It was everything we hoped for. Unique, clean, comfortable, friendly, and excellent location!

This is the best stay I've had a hotel! It was a well designed with an awesome beachy aesthetic and all the amenities were giving HB vibes. I loved that they had beach cruisers, beach towels, beach umbrellas, beach toys, and kids scooters available. They also had smores plates for pick up between 5-10 to take out to the fire pits! My room had two super comfy queen size beds with a huge balcony facing the pier. Parking was easy and the location was top tier within walking distance from main street and pacific city.

5 stars to everyone. Housekeeping its include. Thamxs so much guys!!!👍

Great location. Lots of things offered like coffee bar every morning and drinks every night. Ping pong and foosball table. Lots of outside sitting with fire pits with the complimentary snores kits nights. Super friendly staff! Spencerrrrr was amazing!

Location across the street from the Iconic Huntington Beach. Having one of the truly “ocean view” king rooms. Valet with in-and-out privileges is GREAT. King room is large with desk and panoramic view of the ocean. Large soaking tub in room. Located in downtown HB with lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The downside of the ocean view room is having to cope with the incessant car and motorcycle noise on Pacific Coast Highway. Closing the sliding glass door to the small balcony stops 90+ percent of this noise. When booking, specify that you want a room facing PCH and the beach/ pier. Otherwise, you will get a room with a partial or NO ocean view. The hotel is square, with only one side facing the Pacific Ocean.

Amazing experience. We got in pretty late and staff was very welcoming and helpful. Room was clean and quiet. Located across from the pier so we did a morning boardwalk run. And the best part is the free smores every night!

So many things to do just at the resort it’s self! They provide lots of amenities and extras that I wasn’t expecting, like free beach chairs and bicycles! The staff was fabulous, location was great, and the rooms were beautiful! 10/10

Excellent location across the street from a state beach and to many restaurants and shops. Valet parking is the only way to go at this hotel.

We purchased a breakfast package with our stay. The food was good but a bit pricey, and portions were small. I didn't understand why they charged for coffee or tea when it was free in the lobby (20 ft from the restaurant). Also, glad we bought the breakfast package because there is only one coffee shop open in the neighborhood (especially for early birds). If you are a cyclist, please bring your bike and join the penlone to ride with others. The hotel is on the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and is literally about 30 ft from the door. My biggest regret is that I didn't bring my bike to join the penlone groups (I won't make this mistake twice), and we should have brought our pet. We recommend this hotel and will definitely be back.

Make sure to validate your parking for a cheaper price we forgot about it and were too lazy to go back so we just paid full price or parking but other than that the stay was wonderful and we do plan to stay another time in the future.

Perfect getaway!!

Everything was great. Staff is super hospitable from start to finish. I wish I knew more about all of the extras that come with staying there. No ones fault but my own. (typical guy don’t read the directions.) we ate dinner and breakfast at the Hideaway. Food was delicious and service spectacular. Will be staying there exclusively when in HB.

I unintentionally purchased a VIP room. We were greeted with chocolates, a money credit, and even credit towards the bar. From 5-6 there even free beer for social hour!! I never stood at a hotel like this before. They have fools ball table, ping pong, and even corn hole! Fire pits and more! The rooms were super cool, and clean. They even had a free record player!!! Super cool 😎 The shower was spacious. And we were blessed to have a balcony that faced the ocean. The staff was awesome! Friendly and they even lend you out beach towels and bikes too!!! There are too many positive things to say about this place. I had such a great time- and Kimpton Shore break hotel will be seeing us again! The food was great!! I think I ate the “lean and clean” or something rather. Everything was amazing. Thank you to all the staff and customer service!

I was double billed from the hotel and expedia, hotel did not know of the food and beverage credit expedia promised, hotel amenity fee was higher than indicated, robes were not warm, room was facing courtyard which was loud all night, other guests chatting at 4-5 am non stop in another room, you can hear through the walls. Had no idea how to get to the beach which was not on the property. No view room, had to keep curtains closed. Locals came to the fires and sat right outside our room, they told me they hang out there regularly which made it creepy. Next time I will pay more and have a better stay at one of the three other hotels on PCH.

Staff was wonderful, especially Anna at the front desk. Our room was a little sub-par this time around. Seemed a little dusty and a few things were missing in the bathroom. Also our robes were hanging, but taken after the first night so we didn't have them the second day. Not a big deal, but I love wearing the robes! Other than that, our stay was great.

The Kimpton Shorebreak is a lovely hip place. It is very pet friendly. My only complaints areis that the amenities list didn't include that there is a refrigerator (mini bar) in the room and that the only grass for dogs is a bit away from the property.

I was upgraded to the most beautiful room with a tub and a view. I've been here multiple times and it's like a home away from home, but this experience was above and beyond my imagination.

Great vibe and convenient location! Hey hon, s’mores from 5 to 10 every night and happy hour and foosball, ping-pong, cornhole in the lobby. We rented out board games also what a great restaurant and bar vibe inside the hotel and literally less than a block to Main Street where everything is happening and across the street and you’re at the beach you just can’t beat this.

One of our favorite perks was the complimentary amenities, including beach towels and Regal bikes, which made enjoying the surroundings even easier and more fun. Overall, this place checked every box for our family. Between the exceptional service, ideal location, and thoughtful extras, it’s safe to say we’ve already found our next family vacation destination.

Super cool hotel just across the road from the beach and the iconic Huntington Beach Pier. The friendliest hotel staff I've ever encountered. Also, the most pet friendly place I've ever stayed. No pet fees, and they even take a polaroid of your pet and give them a complimentary toy. Not to mention, they also have record players in the rooms and a good selection of vinyl to choose from. Hands down my favorite hotel.

This hotel was super cute and steps from the beach! A ton of food choices are walkable and the restaurant/bar area in the hotel was beautiful. The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel lets you rent scooters for the kids and there’s a record player in each room! There is a library of vinyls in the lobby. Highly recommend a stay here!

Record players and old time sounds are some of the artifacts! A dog lovers paradise! The 4 legged pets are treated just as well as the human guests!! lol! Although I’m not a dog “lover” I did admire the care and concern of the staff and guests that had their pets .

Had a partial ocean view. Was surprised they had no pool or hot tub. One or the other would have been nice. Otherwise, it’s a great place to stay.

This place was such a fun place to stay and had a great vibe! Friendly staff, great indoor sitting and outdoor areas with fire pits at night, nightly wine/beer, morning coffee, and more. And...we didn't have a dog....but dog friendly and love this! Location couldn't be better.

The staff was so kind, informative and accommodating. The room was clean and the tub in the oceanfront room is amazing. The amenities and activities are fantastic like the drink hour and s'mores. The bed was stiffer than we're used to but we would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was exceptional. Very clean, great coffee and am set up with a hot cocoa bar. Very family friendly, we loved sitting every morning by the coffee and tea set up. The restaurant food choices were wonderful and we really enjoyed having lunch there one day. We loved doing the s’mores by the fire pit with my niece and nephew on our last night too. The location is 10/10 as we could walk to the outdoor shopping mall and the pier right across the street that has a beautiful walkway by the beach. I definitely need to stay here on my next visit back because the convenience, service and extras were just really exceptional. The whole surf vibe made this such a fun experience while also being extremely comfortable.

The room was beautiful, facing the pacific ocean with wonderful sunset views. Loved the record player and that we could borrow records from the front desk. The pop up they had on the outdoor patio was so cute, sadly due to a private event we couldn't enjoy it much. The social hour was great and very enjoyable. The food at the restaurant was good as were the cocktails. I wish the valet wasn't so expensive, but we were next to the beach so I guess that is to be expected. All in all I would come stay again in a heartbeat.

Amenities are delightful - welcome refreshments, s'mores kits, hot chocolate bar, fruit infused ice water carafes, scooters, bikes. Room service and carry out prices are the SAME for Pacific Hideaway! Staff are excellent. I gave 4 stars, because I pulled out the sofa bed, ready to collapse, and found no bedding. 3 phone calls and an hour later, bedding was delivered. I have never needed bedding delivered. Easy beach/pier walk.

The heater is blasting cold air. The technician says there is no Freon in the system and he can’t do anything. The front desk said they’d give us a new room, but when we were ready to move they said they sold the room to a new guest and all rooms were taken. We’ve slept with no air or heat. It was a bad experience last night. I can’t wait to get out of here.

Beautiful property with fantastic customer service. Loved the retro appointments throughout the Hotel. Even a record player in our room! Breakfast burro was very delish and setting on the patio in teh sun was a treat. Pop up bar was cool too. People really got dressed in ski wear just to enjoy the moment more. Beds were nice and bathrooms very clean and modern. Coming back!

Staff was amazing, room was modern and clean, and there was a ton of fun things to do — most wee free. There was even a record player and record in the room.

2) Their was no balcony to enjoy. 3) The thermostat is horrible, there was no option to turn a fan on for any air flow or use for white noise. The AC only came on intermittently set at 67 degrees…. This place has an amazing bar great food and so many amazing amenities. The staff at the front desk were extremely nice!! As well as the fellas at the valet. This was my 1st time staying at a Kimpton. I look forward to staying at more in the future…

The friendly front desk staff inquired about our reason for our stay. I told him it was our anniversary three weeks ago, but due to kids sports (football, football, and more football) we were finally able to get away and celebrate for the weekend. We found ourselves in a room with an ocean view and Friday night when we came back to the room, a bottle of champagne waiting by our bed. Definitely a nice touch. We love staying at this hotel due to its proximity to downtown Huntington Beach. Highly highly recommend this place!

The problem I have has nothing to do with the property! I have an issue with Expedia! The stay was paid for by Expedia, but for some reason I had to pay the ammount again when I got to the hotel?? very confused and unhappy— but the hotel is amazing!! Their billing problems and communication with Expedia are bad!

We really loved the music and atmosphere in the bar and the new bartender Daniel. Room was clean and the location was great. This is the third Kimpton hotel that we have stayed at in different states very enjoyable overall.

Property management (Jackie) went above and beyond to ensure her staff were responsive to us. Any other criticism of the property is due to its age or physical limitations (no pool).

There was no view of the beach from my room. Very disappointing. Their website would lead one to believe they were getting a beach view and the cost of the room was very excessive in my view. I did not have the breakfast, and I was provided with a coffee machine in my room, I just hope I wasn't charged extra for that..In the room, a $3.98 Snickers bar was $7.00. Just a bit over the line, don't you think. I loved the decor of surfing and the Privacy card was in the shape of a surfboard. They would not put my son's phone through to me. That night, a lovely desk attendant made a note on my file and the next day the call went through. First day was upsetting as he had to come to the hotel to see if I was ok.

Our first room was not cleaned and the staff immediately upgraded our room without any time waisted. Kids enjoyed the smores in the patio. Walkable distance to shopping and beach. Kind and attentive staff. Beautiful unobstructed view of the ocean from the room's balcony.

Upon arrival, I was able to change my room location so that I’d have a beachfront view. The upgrade was cost effective and it made a HUGE difference in my stay. I’ll definitely be coming back to this area and staying here.

Comfortable room, coffee service 6-10am, beer and wine 5-6pm (all gratis) in lobby. Did not get to use the fitness center but it looked well equipped and included a climbing wall. Excellent restaurants nearby. Directly across from the beach and HB pier, beautiful area.

Everything was clean and the room was very quiet! I could lay down and relax in this room and feel safe. It was such a restful stay here! I loved the location around the hotel. I could walk to the pier and watch the surfers. I enjoyed walking around and window shopping in the area. Those aspects of the hotel were really nice. I had breakfast before sunrise at a local cafe and listened to the surfers plan their days. I loved the decor around the hotel as well. They had incredible pictures of surfing and waves that spanned decades. It was worth stopping and looking at the pictures throughout the day. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. I'll try to stay here again the next time I'm in town.

The hotel seemed great upon first arrival, however it kind of fell apart after that. On the first night the wife and I were laying in the bed hanging out. We decided to get up and shower and in moment my wife pulled the comforter back and we found bugs. We notified the front desk and a maintenance person and a manager came to our room and after a look they decided to move us to and upgraded room, gave us 100 dollar credit and they dry cleaned all the clothing we were wearing. I felt like their reaction was very appropriate at the time. Apparently the hotel staff did as well. The next day my wife and I went out for most of the day. When we came back the plan was to get ready for our dinner reservation. When we walked in room service had not come and I needed to request at least new towels so we could shower. They asked us to ensure we didnt have our do not disturb tag on the door which we didnt and I notified them were gone for most of the day. After 40 mins we at least got some towels. My wife and I had a nice dinner then returned back to our room. Again we were hanging for a bit then our room filled with the stank smell of weed coming from somewhere else on the floor. Pretty annoying again not the hotels fault but just added to the annoyances of our stay. We checked out today, we never heard from the manager again even though we were told they would let us know if the bugs were bed bugs or not. Just a disappointing trip for wife and I.

Everything was above and beyond what I expected. The service received from check in till check out. Mainly the service received from Jackson at front desk, from the moment when I was checking in. I’ve worked in customer service over 20 years and I believe that he’s an incredible asset to your company and would make a great assistant manager going to manager over time. Well maintained property, amazing location, everything the hotel has to offer and the restaurant was next level. And it was pet friendly, we were able to bring our 2 dogs to celebrate my wife’s birthday and ended up extending for another day, wanted to stay longer, but had to go back home and get back on schedule.

Would have been an incredible experience, amazing staff, environment, close to beach… Except! The room temperature stayed at 75. They make it seem like you can try and change the temp, at the thermostat, and briefly, it cools, but then, real quick, it regulates back to an unconscionable, humid, level temperature. I obviously tried having the door open, but of course, by the water, so mosquitoes were still coming in with the sheer curtain closed. They sent me up an industrial size fan, and the noise pollution was on par with being outside a busy airport. I regret sooo much, spending almost $2000, at a weekend resort where I can’t even stay in a room that can be cooled off by air conditioning. My goal was to relax, rest, get out of the heat and instead I left stressed, completely unrested and very frustrated.

We found our new spot for when we visit California! Loved being where all the action is but also having a relaxing and fun place to retreat. The Kimpton Shorebreak is a wonderful family friendly hotel and the staff went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. My 2yo son is still asking about wanting to go back to the “ten” (hotel) and I feel the same :)

Favorite place to stay in Huntington. Ideal location. Love the dog vibes, wine hour, and fire pits. And having coffee in the courtyard.

Wonderful location.. I love the open air style of the main lobby area and that they give you beach gear and beach bikes to use. Would stay again.

Fantastic stay in great location! Walking distance to tons of great restaurants and shops and most importantly, the BEACH! Love the decor and vibe of this hotel, super friendly staff and rooms were clean and spacious, even had a record player which was fun! Had a great stay, would definitely stay here again.

Rooms really need updating and our headboard on our bed was stained as well as the clock next to the bed had chocolate or something smeared into it.

Incredible hotel for a fun weekend getaway! Don’t have to worry about needing to find things to do. This may be my favorite hotel in Southern California!

Loved the restaurant, the common area, and the amenities. We used the bikes!

I had a very comfortable 2 night stay. I attempted to book 2 more nights, but the hotel was sold out. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but the housekeeping service was quite slow. My room was not cleaned until around 4-5 pm, even though I had left at 8:15 in the morning for meeting.

As an Expedia gold member I am used to receiving the room upgrade perks as it’s a main reason I booked this hotel. Upon arrival we were offered room upgrades of multiple types for additional amounts, I asked about my free room upgrade as it is listed as included if rooms were available, and based on me being offered room upgrades they were available. So, I will admit, that portion of our stay was disappointing. I would return and stay again, but would have like to see the vip amenities listed actually being provided.

The Shorebreak lives up to the Kimpton standard of being a cool, funky, and fun experience from beginning to end. The property is great and located right next to the pier. The lobby area is pretty amazing, with coffee at 6am sharp and tremendous sitting areas that I enjoyed every morning. Lots of amenities and very friendly staff. The restaurant is also very good with some of the best breakfasts - particularly at a hotel - I have had in a long time.

Perfect location a block away from everything. Shopping, dining, drinks just steps away. Great vibes!

Loved it from the moment we pulled up! Staff was extremely nice and accommodating the entire stay. Hotel was extremely clean and quiet with a nice little social scene. Will absolutely be back!

What a nice hidden gem. Super cute beach vibe. Great location to the beach and shopping. Hotel was super clean, excellent service, and the restaurant was fantastic. Only wished it had a pool and a jacuzzi!

The best in HB

The staff members we interacted with were all very, very helpful. They made great suggestions and were very knowledgeable about the area and events. The restaurant was very good, too. Our one complaint was that there was only electrical access on one side of the bed, which made charging electronics awkward. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed the Kimpton in Huntington Beach. Great location across the street from the Pier and near many cafes and restaurants. We were on a coastal bike ride and this made the perfect stop for the night. Enjoyed the restaurant, happy hour reception and evening s’mores. Did not bring our dogs but enjoyed all the dogs at the facility, will bring them next time.

The Hotel was very closely located to Huntington Beach, and that's where we wanted to spend several days at. The rooms were very clean and the staff were friendly. It was a great stay for us and will definitely come back to this hotel in the future.

I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Walking to Pier, Beach, and Main Street.

We wanted to try the property. It is better suited for families with kids and not adult get aways. The “Ocean View” room was only viewable if you stepped out on the balcony and leaned out. The room was very overpriced for what we got. HB isn’t the best for couples get aways as it’s loud and has a lot of bars in a small area. The property was clean and very nice but I was disappointed with everything else.

Omar and Daniel are awesome!!! We live local and love to come here for a break and recharge. The staff are amazing and go above and beyond. The access to chairs and beach stuff make packing so much easier. And the coffee bar in the morning is a nice extra touch.

Amazing hotel with exceptional amenities. The staff is super friendly and they take care of your every need. From the many games and activities in the lobby, to the complementary social hour drinks and the many loaner items, this hotel exceeded my every expectation. I cannot say enough about how amazing this place is.

Hotel employees were always happy, helpful. Room was comfortable. Did not eat at hotel so no food review. Enjoyed the outdoor areas, s'mores, and games. Very enjoyable trip would definitely stay again.

The room was clean, bathroom seemed old, tiles were dirty on the wall. Basics were alright. The bed was too hard and lumpy in the pillow top. Pillows were too hard. Hard to open the curtain on the window due to a desk placed in front of it. I expected more from the restaurant. Would have like some variety for breakfast. We found a great place to go, would have preferred to eat there. All the dogs were the highlight. Didn’t get a chance to partake of the other guest amenities.

Everything was amazing!!!

All the little extras that came with our stay really made our stay better. Nitro cold brew in the morning, happy hour and smores in the evening, then body boards and beach umbrellas to take with us to the beach, all made for a better stay than anticipated. Staff was super friendly as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Super convenient location especially with the US Surfing Open going on. Staff was very friendly and super helpful. The only negative was at first our room had an odor. I’m pretty sure that the people prior to us had a dog - the room smelled of deodorizing chemicals. Other than that, we were happy with the stay and will definitely be back.

Great location at the end of the pier. They have an awesome vibe with beach gear, bikes, and surfboards that you can borrow as well.

I happened to see this property on Expedia and it was located exactly where my wife and I wanted to go for our 33rd anniversary. From the moment we arrived we were totally impressed with this [boutique] hotel. The layout, friendliness of the staff, great location to all things Huntington Beach, and the incredible ocean front room (417) added immensely to our anniversary getaway! This will now be our annual anniversary trip in August to get out of the Phoenix heat! Thanks to everyone there for making this a memorable trip!

First time staying at the beachfront hotel . Room overlooked the pier. Upon entering the room, there was a fully stocked bar, record player with a vintage Aerosmith album, a cooler, 2 beach robes , toiletries etc . Fabulous place

We love this hotel and have had great stays previously. However this time, the room had a very loud hum noise throughout the night. It may have been the elevator shaft, or a generator, but it caused us all to have a terrible sleep. The staff weren’t very sympathetic to this on check out which actually ruined the stay for us.

This was a beautiful property. It was so convenient to the beach and shopping. I would definitely stay here again.

Fun and exciting lobby and garden atea

This was the best hotel we have ever stayed at. We plan to visit again next summer. No hotel has ever stood out to us, it’s just a place to lay your head in between your actual plans. But this place was a vibe and a whole experience in itself. S’mores every night by fire pits, beach cruiser bikes, beach supplies to borrow, walking distance to the beach. Nicest staff, we needed a few deliveries to our room and they were efficient and prompt and seemed more than happy to help. Everything was 10/10.
