It was very quiet and the bed was comfortable... Kitchenette came with pots and pans for cooking, dishes and silverware.. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance... The only issue was the shower drained slow and the TVs need to be upgraded... Overall I enjoyed my experience and would stay here again...

The bathroom sink did not drain so I couldn’t use it, asked for it to be fixed, never happened. Had to use the kitchen sink to brush my teeth, wash my hands, etc. Coffee maker didn’t work so I just said forget it because they never fixed the sink when asked.

Rooms were very clean. 3rd floor which was a new one for my pups, using the elevator up after walks. All went well. Beds were comfortable; linens seemed new or just in really good shape. Ample bathroom space. I really appreciated that the (at least in the pet friendly room) there was vinyl tile floors. I was worried about having puppies but that put me at ease. Location was great, quiet, off the main thoroughfare but easy access to the Clear Lake area. Nice property especially for the price.

Parking was easy and ample. The staff greeted us as we checked in. Rooms were clean and air conditioning worked well. Rooms were a bit musty smelling but not overwhelming. We would stay here again!

The building was unclean, and our room smelled strongly of smoke. The hallways smelled like cigarette smoke and marijuana. There was also a loud, constant noise coming from the bathroom area throughout the night; it sounded like power washing and made it difficult to sleep. Most concerning, there were roaches; the little kind. That alone says everything.

The next night, we saw four roaches in the bathroom. There was also dog feces inside the building by the elevator. The rooms smelled of cigarettes or marijuana. Showers don’t have liners so make sure the curtain itself is in the shower. There were stains on our walls and water stains all along the ceiling. The phone didn’t work and no pots and pans were included even though the description said there would be some. The GM Jash said because I wasn’t the only complaint they would now have to have a pest control inspection done. He told my friend that their unit was noted to have roaches and shouldn’t have been rented out. But for some reason they rented it out to her. He then told me an hour later that his establishment had not had this roach issue before (though he just told my friend her room had a known problem) I am awaiting the pest inspection results even though I showed them photographs of the roaches within their unit. He offered me a discount for my next visit and I told him I would never stay at his establishment again.

I loved the space and layout of the room, perfect space in the kitchen and dinning area for any and all activities honestly, cooking, work, or just having your clutter there. Though we had a mold problem in the hotel and started sneezing uncontrollably on day 2, mold in the vents, ac unit, shower, and windows. We had a kitchenette which had the basics for what we needed, but had a broken dish washer that spewed out water after every use leaving the floors with a huge puddle to clean up. I put the washer on heavy and kept cooking, and out of nowhere my socks were soaked and water was streaming out from the bottom of the machine. The wood and floor had mold and was rotting due to the issue being there for a while I guess. I called for someone to look at it but that's all. We just delt with a moldy room and malfunctioning equipment for a week. All in all the staff were great, and helpful and checking in was a breeze. Even when I asked for extra towels and a broom they were quick and friendly. I feel like the locationband service is 5 star, but the upkeep of the room we were at was terrible and I do feel like we 100% didn't get our bang for our buck.

The room was decent the ac wasn’t working. The staff was ok until I checked out . I was expecting to be refunded my deposit since we did not damage the room . Never got my refund and every time I asked about it got told it would be deposited in my account and it never was . Got printed receipt that makes no sense and no one would bother to explain it to me . Finally was able to speak to manager and he very rudely told me I never paid deposit which is not true bc it’s required to check in . I will not stay there again

I have stayed at this property multiple times. This was probably the worst experience I’ve had so far. There were dead bugs in the bathroom of our room. That’s not such a big deal. The first night, there was a family across the hall with children running around in and out of their room. The child screamed and yelled for almost four hours. The next night there was a terrible odor in the hallways. It smelled like sewer or a broken toilet. It was a terrible smell. Also, no one checked on the room during the entire visit. There was no trash removal and only a small trash can. The kitchenette was missing essential items such as cutlery and bowls. I know we are charged a $50 deposit at check in, so I hope the staff were aware that the room was not fully stocked. Finally, they were renovating a room across the hall. I get that renovation is essential to the upkeep of the property, but it really made the stay uncomfortable with people coming and going at all hours, from early in the morning until after 6:00.

It’s a nice property. Price is great. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Bed was a little soft, but it was nice all in all. I would stay here again.

Water doesn’t get hot and the shower head doesn’t put out pressure. I’ve never been cold taking a hot water only shower. Rooms need to be upgraded with new furniture.

One of the worst experiences I've had in a long time... The guy at the front desk was rude and the rooms reeked a foul odor. When I was given another room, it smelled worst than the first one. It was an extend-a-stay for the wrong crowd which I wouldn't advise anyone with taste to book there..

Quality room and amenities. Staff were pleasant and friendly except the manager, he never smiled, argued loudly with guests, terrible at customer service. If I hadn’t prepaid for my 5 night stay I would have left. And I saw a cockroach in my room two different days.

This location needs additional TLC on their units. The bed we had in the single room needed to be replaced with a newer one. We rented two rooms and the foldout bed (couch) needed a new mattress. The air conditioner in the suite we rented did not work properly. The staff was not very friendly. This unit did not have an ice machine for guest use. We paid more per room for "basic" amenities than if we had stayed at a "name brand" hotel.

Granted the staff was amazing, but the lack of room service, the water pressure in the shower was severely lacking, and the fact i found 3 bugs in my room... cause this hotel to lose stars in my eyes

The manager/owner Jask Patel was very polite, kind, and accommodating. The room was well-maintained and suited our family and pup well for our stay. We wanted something budget-friendly that wasn't in the hustle and bustle of Houston, but also not in the pricey area of Galveston. This was a great fit. It was extremely budget-friendly and set in a little community without the overwhelming traffic and chaos of the city. I was a bit nervous as I had not stayed in this area previously; however, I was put more at ease upon discovering the police department was right around the corner. We will most definitely be returning!

This appeared to be a property in theiddle if a face lift. Hallways had fresh paint, but the room had loose tiles in the bathroom floor, was in meed of paint, floors were dirty, we found several bugs in our room, there was a hole on the inside of the bathroom door.

Good room for a good price. Hotel is a bit on the older side so don’t expect a brand new building. Great stay overall.

The general manager is very rude, racism and he makes the stay very intense he has very bad communication and customer service I recommend other properties not this one with him manager

The hotel appears to have been remodeled based on the front desk area and the new paint/carpet in the hallways. The room however left much to be desired. Couch had questionable stains, the lamps by the bed didn’t work at all, and many broken/busted things in the bathroom. The room also smelled like weed basically the entire time, which was more likely due to people on our floor and above us smoking in their rooms.

Half used/half empty body washes. I went to the front desk to ask for a new body wash bottle & literally the front desk person handed me another half empty bottle. I questioned it & he stood firm. I paid for this room, it wasn’t free & they were pinching every product like toilet paper, paper towel, tissue box. I told the same front desk person that both phones in the room didn’t work, he never followed up & no one ever came to see about the dead phones or attempt to repair. We were given stained towels as replacements. Some had yellow stains, some black. Quite disgusting when you can obviously see that they need to invest in new towels. The room curtain was dirty. The iron board is trash. It couldn’t stand on its own. Not worth it.

Yes the room was decent but I asked for clean linens and was given a dirty sheet. It had hair, spot, stains and streaks on it. The upstairs halls of the hotel smelled like strong mens deoderant and smokers smoking. It was not my favorite experience.

The property itself has a lot of potential but is somewhat outdated and has a few cosmetic issues. There was also a noticeable odor. However, for the price and location, it worked well for a quick overnight getaway for a couples event.

They charged my card $50 not a hold but charged on a prepaid room. so now I have to wait 3-5 days for the refund. Then they tried to charge me for my service dog. Although in the midst of a remodel, the place was neat and clean. Whatever we asked had a positive response. I’m picky about pillows, but these were great, and the bed was comfortable. It was also right next to Denny’s in a good neighborhood.

The hotel is the definition of "you get what you pay for" - it was lower priced ones, so we were not expecting too much. When we arrived to check in, there was no one at the service desk to assist us for 5-7 minutes. The room was adequate, as well as the bathroom. The bath towels were smaller than the typical ones provided at other locations - about half the size. We were only staying one night, so it provided us with what was needed.

My review is based on the fact that the property is mid-renovation and work was ongoing during my stay. After it is complete, it will be great. I had a 1-bedroom apartment w kitchen that met all my needs. The desk staff person was very friendly & helpful. The location was perfect for my needs & parking was easy.

I was taken a back initially with the construction at the front door and everywhere throughout. The front desk was very nice but non displayed handicapped vehicles took all the handicapped parking and she really didn't seem like she could do anything. I will book again for Christmas.

As a result, we were downgraded to a standard room, and even that room had severely outdated facilities—the fridge and AC were making constant loud noises. Completely unacceptable. If the hotel is under renovation, it should not be selling rooms at all. And please stop misleading customers with overly beautified photos. This is false advertising, and we are filing a complaint.

Recently remodeled and well maintained

One of the worst experience ever! The whole hotel is under renovation, full of dust during the day and the smell of paint. The smell in the room is even worse, like an old, uncleaned washing machine. Furnitures are rusty and one of the windows has a hole in the glass. This hotel is not in an operatoin condition. I really don't understand how it got its 4 star + plus ratings on Expedia. However, I want to give credit to the staff for their friendlyness.

The hotel was under renovation, the environment was terrible, the hygiene was very poor, and there were bugs inside. It was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.

This hotel, has us thinking that it was a very clean and modern hotel with the ratings. But once we came through the front door a wave of unpleasant smell hit towards us. As we saw the front desk, times have been ripped off, lights dangling, no staff, and paint peeling from the walls. As we got the key and entered into our room, we saw stains on the wall, mirror, and bedsheet. As we inspected the room closer we saw bugs that were randomly lying everywhere. Too conclude this visit at Sonesta; it was a unpleasant experience.

Yes very clean , air conditioner works great, the only problem was they will stalk you for a payment although you are already locked out of the room and will not use your payment method already on your account so if they are not available when you are to pay they will contact you like it’s your fault and inconvenience you to drive back to the office to accommodate them instead of the customer

Loved having a full-sized fridge and would definitely stay here in the future- hopefully for a longer duration.

The business was in the process of being repainted. The contractors do not know the meaning of keeping a jobsite clean. I checked in around 930 pm. I had to wait in the lobby for 15 minutes and then I called the office line. Finally someone came out and checked us in. The lady that checked me in gave me the wrong room number. After trying to scan the key card 4 or 5 times the person in the room came out and ask what I was doing. Overall, the experience was bad. I would not rebook with them again.

Overall clean room and bathroom. Very friendly staff. Maintenance guys need to stay on top of all things. Room AC was acting up, they switched the room promtly the following day of my stay. Among other things were loose toilet, faulty shower controls etc.

This isn’t a fancy property, but it’s in a good, safe area with several dining options nearby and it’s super close to the Space Center which was a plus. The lobby smelled really good and the lady who checked us in was so nice and welcoming. Kudos to her for showing that she likes what she does! Our room was clean and the bed was comfy, so we enjoyed our three night stay.

Hotel was under minor remodel so all baseboards were removed and floors in halls had Sheetrock debris. No big deal. Had a decent gym which was a plus. Neighbors were obnoxious and went from screaming to zombie growling. Check in/out was quick and easy. Room was clean, bed was comfy. Rooms could definitely use a serious update but everything worked fine. For a little over $50/night I can’t complain too much.

This is the second Soneta hotel I stayed. The first Soneta I visited was in Dallas. I was there by myself. I visited the Houston Soneta in the company of my sister and my niece. We spent 3 days there. We were very happy with the room, the cleaniness, the upkeep and condition of the appliance.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. I am very happy with them. But they were really busy and difficult to find them at the time of check in. The hotel was going through major renovation. Despite the renovation activities, room was clean and quiet.

My first room had a broken air conditioner, but I was moved to the third floor and had a great room. Rooms are nice and big with the desk and kitchen and plenty of space. Very clean and looks new. Hallways are getting a facelift with new paint on 2nd and 3rd floor. Staff at the desk were so kind. Outside and hallways have a cheap look and feel, but once in the room, everything was great!

this property is OK if you stay on the first floor but there is ongoing renovations on the second and third floor. Meaning pieces of drywall laying around plaster etc. It was a mess. My room on the first floor was OK but it took me three tries to get a decent room. The young woman at the front desk was very helpful and did her best considering the circumstances. Also leaf blowers at eight in the morning.

Staff was not friendly at all. The “manager” Josh was very rude from the beginning. When I got to the floor we were staying on they were in construction/painting phase , so my 6 year old daughter and I were inhaling paint. Why would you put guess on the same floor you’re painting on? After being there 10 minutes we had to check out and get a refund because the paint was too unbearable. Worst experience.

Well ac in my room was leaking wet the carpet and 3rd floor where I was sent to stay for two days is under construction and mess up there , smelled like paint. WiFi was the worse never was able to use had to use my personal hotspot

Didn’t mention anything else, but the next day there were signs about paint fumes! The female desk agents were hospitable.

It was convenient because i visited LPI for a week. My room (and the previous room allocated to me) wee in bad condition. The first room's AX controller broke off the wall. The second room was in bad shape: no pictures on the wall with a broken frame, rust on the outside of the fridge and broken drawers in the bathroom.

I was very impressed with the one bedroom apartment like vibe i got upon walking into thw room. I sent pictures to my family members who was staying at other hotels and was mad at my room when i showed them pictures of it. They said they wish they had found that location before they had checked in the other hotel, my room was much more bigger than theirs.

I always enjoy my extended stay in Sonesta at Clear Lake. The property is well maintained, the staff is caring and friendly and the location is very good.

Stay wasn’t too bad until the elevator stop working. Staff was nice to help move my items to the first floor due to health condition. Second room was not clean but third room was good.

The Sonesta Simply Suites was a good value. Though it's undergoing some uphrades, the facility is still in very good condition.

We came there for a robotics competition. This hotel just located across the street from the competition venue, and there are some restaurants around. It’s pretty convenient!

Upon check-in we noticed the toilet didnt flush and notified the front desk. He checked it and assured no additional problems but we had problems flushing it all night. When we asked to be moved to another room they had the mateinance man fix it. The refrigerator also made a loud grinding noise the whole stay every hour or so which made sleeping through the night hopeless. What was supposed to be a relaxing weekend visiting family was anything but.

I chose this property for the kichenette/studio suite because I was coming from home and wanted a way to bring my food/cook and keep everything cold. I needed to be closer for driving purposes and this checked all the boxes. It saved me time, stress, and allowed every convenience of home. The bed was extremely comfortable. This property surpassed my expectations and I will specifically look for this brand in the future.

The girl at reception was so kind and helpful with our reservation. She switched us to a room with fully handicap accomodations. The facility was well maintained and the staff friendly and helpful.

This is a situation of you get what you pay for. The elevator was out and the smells of people cooking in their rooms permeated everywhere. The staff was very nice.

We got in at 1:30 am with a toddler so we weren’t looking forward to walking up 3 flights of steps while exhausted from driving all day. The only other things I have to add are that the heater in the room wasn’t working properly so we were pretty cold at night. Other than that, the room was nice and clean, the hotel was nice and quiet, and the staff was friendly!

Small roaches in room and elevator was broken but was a convenient place to stay and met my needs.

The staff was no where to be found for check in and the elevator was broken and we were given a room on the 2nd floor so we had to take the stairs.

Enjoyed my stay

My room was very nice but the electrical outlet in the bathroom didn’t work so I had to dry my hair without a mirror in the kitchenette area. Also, no USB ports in the room which most hotels now have. The elevator was out of order while I was there.

Good value when perks aren’t needed. Property seems to have had recent updates, but a few more are due. Good lighting in bathroom; nice sized room; convenient location.

The kitchen has plates, glasses and cutlery for 2 people. You'll need to bring your own sponge or some detergent for the dishwasher.

The property was very clean and the staff very helpful. The location is great. I loved the kitchenette and that the AC really kept the rooms cool. The design is a little dated but very comfortable

Shower head in the room needs to be replaced, no tv signal during my stay and the refrigerator was not working, my food spoiled and drinks were warm room phone did not work and no remote for the tvd

Maid never came to the room to bring clean towels. Other residents were trashy and noisy. Hotel was quite a ways from restaurants and activities. No exhaust fan in the bathroom.

Really nice rooms, the area around is quiet but very close to UHCL.

My family recently stayed here and we really enjoyed it. The front desk associates were very friendly & helpful. The property details were pretty outdated but the overall stay was amazing & very quiet. My only complaint was my air conditioner did not stay on and it was very hot in the hotel room. But I would recommend this property & would love to stay here again for future trips!!

To summarize the review: This is a great hotel for the price. Overall, the hotel is a no frills type of hotel. It is an extended stay hotel, so no free breakfast or anything like that. Everybody working the front desk is very nice. All of the staff is very nice. There is housekeeping once every 7 days. Great hotel to work remote. There is a desk, outlets are everywhere, wifi was good enough. I enjoyed my stay at the Sonesta Suites. My room was a good size. The bathroom was nice. I loved the water pressure in the shower. There was a working microwave, dishwasher, silverware, utensils, and a working fridge that did a great job cooling my leftovers. The bed was comfortable. Pillows were great. The location of this hotel was great as well. Great parks, great coffee shop (Art of Coffee), great restaurants nearby, a lot of businesses nearby, and NASA is close by. My only two criticisms are: 1) You can tell this used to be a smoking hotel back in the day. 2) My keycard stopped working every night around 9pm-10pm.

I just needed a 1 night stay for a wedding in the area. Check in was super easy. I needed an early check in, I called the evening before. One lady quoted me $40 while another told me $25. I’m not sure why it was 2 different prices but over all the stay was good for me.

I booked online, so I was not exactly sure what I would be greeted with at the front desk. They are very professional at the front desk, reassuring and accommodating. Even when my stay became day by day, they continued working with me to be sure staying at Sonesta was stress free in a somewhat stressful situation.

Elizabeth was super awesome at check in. Quite ticked off location with several options for dining. About 2 1/2 miles or so off of the main freeway so it’s very convenient for a commute
