Spark by Hilton Homewood Birmingham

Television did not work. Only one staff member working in whole hotel so she had to leave front desk to try & help us resolve it, then leave us to help people check in - ridiculous and unsafe. Another staff member she called about the problem said they had had that same tv issue in other rooms before. Room looked clean but must have had mold - both my daughter & I sneezed like crazy & got headaches while there, but were fine as soon as we left. Bathroom door creaked so loudly we woke each other up every time we used it. Would never stay there again and probably wouldn’t use a Hilton Spark again either. Better quality hotels in the area for the same price.

I reported to the front desk clerk the next morning, but she only said they had a pesticide co. that already had sprayed. She then said she would ask them to spray again.

Booked via Hotel.com. Reviews said great- but there was a 3.5 inch cockroach climbing the wall. And where there is one, there are hundreds. So we left and did not stay the night. The gentleman at the desk was very nice, but I feel like I should be refunded the $190.80 it cost to book a hotel that I did not even stay the night at. Would not stay here.

The room originally assigned to my family was poorly cleaned and fast food trash was left behind. It had a smell of old wet dirty clothes. We were given a new room (next door to the original) and it was cleaner, it still smelled bad, but had disgusting stains on the walls. The walls are very thin and we heard neighbors and also had people running and screaming through the halls all night long.
