The Desoto Inns

After traveling most of the day from Arizona, this was a little upsetting to say the least. I contacted the host immediately, and he directed us to the room next door, which was clean and ready for us. I understand mistakes can happen, but the host was quick to respond and also allowed us free use of 2 bikes on the property that were normally available for an additional fee. Someone dropped the ball, but the host made it right, and we greatly enjoyed our stay at the Desoto Inn!

The room was small, obviously older, and had an odd latrine smell at night. We were only given 1 roll of TP. Communication was difficult due to no actual staff on-site. Check in was also a pain for the same reason. Everything has to be done online. There's a phone #, but getting someone to answer takes multiple calls. It's definitely not soundproof, either. The garden has been neglected. Lights over the outside tables were mostly dead. And so on.

Tiki tiki about 3 blocks away has great food and a good happy hour. 😁 Close to lots of good food.

Room was clean which was great. Location is amazing. The ac was too loud and the furnishings were rustic. It’s clean and right next to the beach in a quiet neighborhood.

Great location great patio It needed to be a bit cleaner and the room had small roaches. But management was very good in helping to take care of the problem

Amazing location and wonderful place for summer beach getaway. Everything was clean and appreciate the beach extras they provide like umbrella and chairs. Second time here and will definitely be returning!

Great location close to the beach. Nice sitting areas in a private setting outside with shade. Our room was nice and seemed clean. Our unit has a small kitchen area. The staff communicated with us promptly and it was easy to access the unit with their clear communication. They appeared to have some chairs and umbrellas available for use on the beach but we didn't use them. Bathroom was a little small, if you weren't careful you could hit your head on the towel rack trying to sit on the toilet. Someone staying two units down from us asked if we found bedbugs in our room bc they supposedly had found some in their room. To be clear we did not find any in our room so it's undetermined if this was truly an issue in a different unit.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Beautiful does not describe the Inn. It is very quiet and peaceful. It has everything you need. I I will definitely give up the big condos and resorts when we come back.

The greeting when ,we arrived the property manager brought my luggage to my room. He also showed me my room. I will go o back. Excellent service s Every thing was perfect

Communication was very easy, and the staff was very helpful. The room was very clean. They had my favorite Starbucks K-pods 😊, which made me very happy. There were plenty of towels in the room. Everything you could need in the kitchen was there. The only issue we had was that the air conditioner did not cool the room sufficiently. We had two very hot nights. If the air conditioner had worked better, everything else was perfect.

We stayed in the exclusive apartment. The rooms were clean and the covered balcony was a bonus. Located steps from the beach. Great restaurants located nearby, within walking distance (Tiki Tiki and Quarter Deck). Front office was closed for most of our stay therefore we could not have access to the bicycles.

This hotel is in a superb location, quiet and literally steps from the beach and an ocean promenade for walking, biking and skating that goes for several miles largely along protected parkland to and from the Hollywood Broadwalk. The hotel has a lovely tropical garden that rooms open out to with seating and large tables under tiki roofs, lots of birds and water. We had breakfast in the garden every morning. Coffee is provided. The showers need upgrading -- hot water and pressure consistency.

The unique garden oasis setting of the DeSoto in the midst of more typical beach structure surroundings, made it really stand out. Very zen-like! The availability of bikes was a huge plus. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was roomy. noisy garbage trucks outside our windows on two successive mornings

Perfect place to stay for ocean lovers. Close walk...everything provided (beach chairs, coolers, towels, etc). The only disappointing thing was no bikes and had to take cold showers (not sure why?)

Our stay at the DeSoto Inn was wonderful! This is such a hidden gem in the Hollywood Beach area. You are about a 30 minute walk from Hollywood beach itself but they have bikes that you can use down a bike path that goes straight there. The room was super clean and the hotel had so many amenities! My favorite thing about this place is the beautiful gardens outside where you can see blooms and butterflies all day. You are also a 1 minute walk from the beach and they have everything from chairs, pool floats, and surfboards that you can use while there. Parking was assigned and free (the spot was very tight) and we had no trouble with that during our stay. I highly recommend this place and will be returning in the future.

This place was beautiful! It was so close to the ocean, close to a couple restaurants. It is just a nice little area. Communication was easy and kept us informed. There was an outdoor coffee station as well as a coffee pot in the room. The rooms were clean, had everything you needed. We are already trying to plan a time to come back1

The Desoto Inn was incredible, quiet, quaint and beautiful landscaping. We were literally 200 steps from the beach. The hotel manager communicated instructions for self check in/out! Also communicated in a timely manner. We will definitely be making our next reservation there very soon!!

Breakfast was not included, but we knew about it earlier and it did not matter. The host was great - helpful, Informative and very pleasant to meet. I think, the water system needs some update. Cold and hot water system was confusing. But we made it.

This is the 5th time we have stayed here. We absolutely love it, it is a hidden gem ? ? The only thing i could say is that a later check out would be nice. 10:30 is a bit early. If it was 11 or 12, it would give the guests a nice couple of hours on the beach.

The studio was amazing, from the decor to the amenities. Right by the beach. Nice location, on a side street. The property is all done with gardens and huts. Very quaint and quite for a nice relaxing time with your partner. Walked and sat at the beach.

This Inn is a true gem….a home away from home along the Florida coast. The setting was wonderful with a lovely garden that included shaded tables and comfy chairs to just relax. A short walk to the beach with complimentary chairs, umbrellas, and bikes. The room included a full kitchen, king bed, and a small, but nice bathroom.

I liked the peaceful surroundings and the 15 second walk to the basically private beach. I liked that the property had bikes available to ride on the tranquil path to Hollywood beach restaurants. I enjoyed my stay and look forward to my next visit.

A great place to stay with wonderful staff right next to a quiet place on the ocean. Large TV with great picture and enough of a kitchen to handle lunches (Dinners should be at the Tiki Tiki across the street). You don't go waterfront to stay in the room so don't expect a big area and bathroom but very fun.

Great, charming property near the beach. Patio / garden area a nice touch to sit outside for a drink or meal. Well kept property. Only downside was poor water pressure and limited hot water in our room.

Nice stay very close to the beach. Beach chairs, umbrellas, and bikes were great to have available for free. Bathroom was small. Linen change happens twice per week. Was a little disappointed that linens left as replacements were left outside all day while we were out. If it had rained hard, we may have returned to wet bed sheets and towels. No one on hand at the property after around 5pm either.

Take provided bikes or short Uber down to popular Broadwalk district for endless dining options. Once again, the team here treats Dosoto is if it’s their own, prepare to be impressed. Nicely done!

What an amazing place. The room was comfortable and had everything i needed. The grounds were outstanding so beautiful and relaxing. I loved the use of good quality beach chairs. I will definitely stay again.

Free parking and use of bikes was a nice change compared to other hotels in Hollywood. We just wished we had a King size bed, which we thought was booked. Great personal service!!!

Cute little place by the beach. It's on the quiet end. You need to drive to the restuarants and entertainment by the boardwalk but great if you don't want to deal with all of that. Room was clean. We had everything we needed. Owner was nice. No complaints. Great place to stay

But you can walk down the boardwalk a couple of miles and have plenty of bars and restaurants, or you can drive 15 minutes and be in the busy bar area of the beach.

Beautiful property. Very welcoming! A paradise feeling. Everything around and inside the property is so green and clean. Mr. Josías and Mr. Steve were great during our stay. I can't wait to stay there again. Steps away from the beach and very peaceful and quiet at night.

It is right on the beach... it is a a botanical garden with beautiful tropical plants and talking parrots (the kids loved it), very well maintained and you immediately feel on vacation. The beach is like 20 steps away, so we enjoyed late night walks as well. There is an area where you can ride a bike. The property also has bikes you can use for free. They are not new but in a good condition and my son and I used them. We enjoyed everything and we would definitely consider coming back.

We had a wonderful time, from our tour with Josias(who was a wonderful host, we felt like we should have hugged him when we left, he was just great!) to the location and the amenities you dont normally see, especially for the price! The grounds are beautiful, a large garden area with several sitting areas including tiki huts to relax in and enjoy a meal or a drink outdoors...the beach is just steps from the property, and its a much quieter part of the beach than the main broadwalk area, which we really appreciated. And the hotel supplies bikes to use at no charge, which made the broadwalk just a couple of minutes away! In addition to the bikes, there were all sorts of beach items to use at no additional cost, including beach chairs, towels, boogie boards and even a cooler and all types of sunscreen and sun tan oil! The room was extremely clean, beautifully decorated and quite a bargain considering we also had a fully stocked kitchenette with everything but an oven. Though we had most meals out, we were able to make great breakfasts in the kitchen each morning to start our day. We couldnt have asked for anything more and cannot wait to return! We had a wonderful time, from our tour with Josias(who was a wonderful host, we felt like we should have hugged him when we left, he was just great!) to the location and the amenities you dont normally see, especially for the price! The grounds are beautiful, a large garden area with several sitting areas including tiki huts to relax in and enjoy a meal or a drink outdoors...the beach is just steps from the property, and its a much quieter part of the beach than the main broadwalk area, which we really appreciated. And the hotel supplies bikes to use at no charge, which made the broadwalk just a couple of minutes away! In addition to the bikes, there were all sorts of beach items to use at no additional cost, including beach chairs, towels, boogie boards and even a cooler and all types of sunscreen and sun tan oil! The room was extremely clean, beautifully decorated and quite a bargain considering we also had a fully stocked kitchenette with everything but an oven. This was our 7th time visiting Hollywood and this was by far the greatest and coolest place we have ever stayed. The rooms are cozy and functional. The whole property is super clean and full of charm. Having the bikes to go around is a super feature. We are very appreciative of the effort Steve and Josias put on this property to make things run so smoothly. We plan to visit again soon!!!

This was the best Expedia property I’ve ever stayed at. Building is older but well maintained. 1/2 block from beach access. Bikes are available, easy ride to Hollywood beach and boardwalk. Hotel has a garden built in. Very very relaxing. Butterflies, a parrot, lizards and lots of flowers and plants. 30 minute drive to miami which we did a few times. Parking is right in front. Each room has a designated space. Owners are super nice and great to talk to. Would absolutely stay here again and again.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Desoto with inn! From the location to the staff, this place is hands down one of the most amazing stays I’ve ever had in Florida! Everything about it is perfect! Definitely our new go to hidden gem! Thank you Desoto! We will be back!

The Desoto has preserved a laid-back, vintage, Florida vibe that took me back to my childhood growing up in Hollywood. Quiet area. No restaurants real close, but within a short bike ride or car ride.

The owners provide for so many details that other inns and hotels forget about. There was extra lotion, sunscreen, and bottled water freely available. And there were lots of towels! We stayed for a long weekend and had a wonderful time. The gardens were beautiful, the rooms were clean, and the staff was fantastic. They were helpful and very accommodating. They had bikes, beach items, and basically everything we could possibly need. Would definitely come back in the future.

This is a very well maintained beautiful property right by the beach. The landscape in the property is absolutely stunning. Rooms are spacious and clean. The staff (Doug) is very helpful and friendly. Bikes are available to use for free and so are beach toys and charis,etc

Decided no to stay at this hotel, as I have seen the room. It was awful, not clean, smelled. The stuff is not friendly and customer oriented. Didn't stay there even a night, but they have charged me full price for all 4 nights, that I've reserved. Still trying to get my refund!!! Even expedia agents can't helmp me with that. Very upset. Do not recommend to book this hotel.

Very nice, well kept, quiet & quaint place to stay. Nice relaxing courtyard. Parking spot for each unit. Access to hotel bikes and beach chairs. The owner Steve was very helpful on checkin.

I appreciated the cozy/warm setting that made one feel at home. The inviting garden, the free breakfast, and the warm welcome from the owner and manager. I felt like my business was welcome and appreciated.

DO NOT GO!!! My wife was waiting to spend time in the garden area and relax. The first day, we went to the boardwalk and came back to set back and relax in the lighted garden area. At 10:30pm, one of the owners came out yelling that after 10:00pm is QUITE time. Never was told this, not in the rule book in the room and not their website. Now, there are parrots in cages in garden area, they are loud starting at 7:00am. Locatin: 1.7 miles to closes store, 2.1 miles from boardwalk and 1.6 miles from the peer. The beach at the end of the street is beautiful. You carry your on chair and umbrella to the beach, it's not bad. Now on their website that are on a secluded beach, I will agree during week, but not the weekend, many others and kids. If you want to to Hollywood, FL -- stay on the great Boardwalk.

This hotel is a real gem, a little piece of paradise. Its located in a beautiful quiet side street, but only a short walk away from great bars and places to eat. The owners were really helpful and happy to get you settled in quickly. I can highly recommend this as some where to stay if visiting the area.

We wanted a place to relax after a transatlantic flight. The Desoto Inn was perfect. Very close to the beach but quiet and without being overcrowded. Steve was very helpful and made our stay very pleasant by accommodating an after midnight arrival and working with us to check out. We love the beach and having a quiet place to rest. It was the highlight of our vacation.

This was a VERY clean place to stay. Steve, the owner, was an excellent host. The place is fully equipped with everything you need, except the food. There are beautiful flowers and bushes all in the court yard. He has bicycles you can use free of charge. He also has beach chairs and umbrellas. Steve even thought of your spare time by having all sorts of books you can read while there. OOPs, forgot your sunglasses or suntan lotion? Not to worry, Steve has some you can borrow. The beach is just a stones throw away from your room. The time of the year we went,Oct. there was hardly anyone on the beach.

We loved that it was out from the big high rise hotels. The beach was much more private and quiet.

Hotel is very clean, outdoor area is quaint and relaxing. Very close to beach, we enjoyed our stay.

Bed was good but not great. Loved cute folds of face clothes. Felt it was very clean and loved the environmentally friendly atmosphere. From cleaning products to solar panels, to native plantings and a frog pond. Also loved the availability of umbrellas, chairs, bikes and even sunglasses. The outdoor tables and chairs under the huts were very cozy yet large enough for a good size group.

The place is amazing, Couzy , romantic, clean and Super quite... for my taste too much
