The elevator is broken and we were put on the 3rd floor. Room is old and outdated. Carpet torn, toilet ran all night. Hallway smelled like weed.

However, I do not remember staying at a hotel that didn’t have a refrigerator, or microwave. We have special food needs that at times, require both. If stay again at a Microtel we’ll make the adjustments we need.
- 4/5
The room was clean and the staff were friendly. The breakfast wasn't for me but many enjoyed it. I would have liked more fresh fruit options. The location was very good. I enjoyed hiking the river walk and the racetrack. It was close to the historic district with many shops and restaurants and a farmers market.

I never checked in after my friend who also had a reservation for the same period called to tell me not to. Her daughter saw roaches in the bathroom. The place was so rundown. I thought getting a room in a hotel chain would guarantee my expected experience (a clean, safe place to stay). Pictures on site were misleading. Staff told me I could not cancel my two night reservation because it was booked through a third party. I found a place to stay but really disappointed given I need to find a regular place to stay when in town.
- 3.5/5
Close to town. Staff is super nice especially Tequila. She is friendly and personal. Beds and rooms are small. Little storage to unpack suitcases.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff. Super helpful. Clean hotel with quiet rooms.

The breakfast was decent with a variety of items to choose from Noisy people in other rooms

The hot water heater was great, ensuring a nice warm shower. While breakfast was offered, the choices were limited and severely lacked protein options. Getting someone at the front desk was a chore. We had to check out early, but there was no bell and I waited for 10 minutes. I was hollering, "Hello, anyone there?" and knocked on the "staff only" door. Outside my room smelled severely of weed; I couldn't tell if someone was smoking outside or inside since I was right by the exit door. Furthermore, my room was supposed to be wheelchair accessible—at least that is what the sign said. Good luck getting a wheelchair into that bathroom or by the bed. Luckily, I didn't personally need the handicap accessibility.

Very clean room, small but very efficient. Comfortable bed. Helpful staff, responded quickly to questions and requests. Parking was tight but easily accessible and safe. Breakfast choices were modest but generous. Convenient to shopping, restaurants, easy access to highway, but quiet and private. Would stay here again.

we like staff, parking and breakfast is ok
- 3/5
Good breakfast. Easy to park. Convenient to downtown Hillsboro
- 4/5
Staff are very pleasant and helpful.
- 4/5
Other than the room having a musty smell everything was fine
- 5/5
I attend an annual event in nearby Chapel Hill and have stayed here once a year for ten years. It's easy access to the interstate & just far enough off the main street to be quiet. Although I wish they had a pool & sauna, they had no unpleasant surprises.
- 4/5
We were assigned a handicapped room; the the tile floor in the bathroom was slick when dry and dangerous when wet. The foor of the shower stall was also slippery.
- 5/5
Good stay. Nice location. Good staff
- 2/5
Everything was clean, but there were no amenities. Even though it's cheap, it's overpriced what it is.
- 4/5
This was a simple, clean, safe good place to stay for a great price. I will stay again when traveling alone as a good place to sleep for a good price on a work trip.

Room was clean. Missing refrigerator.
- 3/5
The hotel was clean. The beds were great, but the pillows were not. The room next to us had a dog in it that woke us early. Breakfast was fine. Loved the coffee machine. If I stayed here again, I would request a back room. The curtains allow too much light from the lights on the front of the building to come through the tops of the curtain making it difficult to fall asleep. Lumpy pillows didn't help.

- 4/5
Tyreek was very courteous and check in was very easy. Room was nice and clean and bed was comfortable. Room was a little stuffy, but we finally got thermostat situated ok. Breakfast was fine enough to start our day. Waffles, bagels, yogurt, some pastries, and fruit. Easy check out. Just handed my card to lady at the front desk. I did have to pay a $50 deposit, but I guess that’s pretty standard now. Several fast food restaurants in the area. Would stay here again.
- 2/5
No hot water.

- 4/5
room was clean. accessibility roll in shower was perfect! Staff is respectful.
- 4/5
Room was clean
- 5/5
The room was decent one of the linens needed to be replaced... possible overlook. the second bed was nice and clean. decent breakfast... no meat protein except a frozen pork sausage biscuit sandwich... Bathroom was great, nice and clean. I felt comfortable coming in contact with the furniture and outlay of the room. Dog approves
- 3/5
Hotel is getting rundown. Stayed on the second floor and the floorboards creaked from the room above. Bed sheets had some faint stains and barely fit the bed. Bathroom was fine. Staff are friendly enough. It's the most affordable option in the area.
- 3/5
Clean room, but could not sleep due to the person on the 3rd floor above me. They were making so much noise.
- 5/5
Really great spot. Would be happy to stay again.
- 5/5
Amazing coffee machine at breakfast
- 2/5
Breakfast selection virtually non existant, room noisy, NO HOT WATER, checked out after 2 days, no credit for 3rd day, will not use that chain or your service again
- 2/5
Staff was nice. Room was very outdated and pillows were extremely flat
- 5/5
Staff and clean room.
- 3/5
The place was clean and inexpensive, but definitely no frills and unfortunately, no hot water either morning of my stay.
- 1/5
No hot water, no food at breakfast, horrible stay
- 2/5
We had no hot water. The room smelled funny, walls need to be repainted. The staff was great, the facilities not so much .
- 4/5
Friendly staff, check in was smooth, the room was clean and comfortable, convenient to the freeway. I'd stay here again. I didn't like the cigarette smell in the lobby and there was active construction in the hallways.
- 4/5
Parking was wonderful with easy access in and out of the hotel. The room was quite comfortable and easily met our needs for our stay.
- 3/5
the hotel website offers 1:00 pm check out for $20 and a 3:00 pm check out for $50 however, the front desk clerk declined our request and stated they do not offer late checkouts … our room was ok. breakfast was disappointing. stale muffins and pastries.
- 1/5
DONT STAY THERE
- 4/5
It was fine
- 5/5
Recommend that they update their bath towels and washcloths to bath size.
- 1/5
Mildew and smoke smell. Very dirty carpet.
- 1/5
You usually get what you pay for. This was less. Hated it. So, obviously, skip it.
- 1/5
Roaches in the hallways and room. Killed multiple roaches in the room. Pet hair all over the floor in the room. Clearly not been well vacuumed. No hot water. The water started as lukewarm and ended up room temperature when taking a shower. Staff did not clean up anything in the room, just replaced towels in the bathroom. The shower head was a very weak stream of water. The pillows were small. Would not recommend at all.
- 4/5
Clean room but could use better pillows.
- 4/5
Parking and Breakfast is free.
- 3/5
The staff here is so friendly, helpful, nice! Unfortunately this hotel has seen better days. No wifi. I feel like that is just a must have these days. No ice maker. Bed was good, pillows are not. Overall run down and wifi not working.
- 2/5
Carpet extremely dirty, something that looked like spit next to the bed on floor that was still wet! Smelled so bad in the room i had to open a window but then there were people smoking outside the room so back to closed. Staff was friendly the hotel is just very run down
- 5/5
Area safe. Price great for what it was. Very basic, but clean. Perfect for an overnight stay
- 4/5
Everything clean but seems to be a water issue (hot) and smell from carpet in room. Otherwise bed and bathroom clean.
- 3/5
Cons : Lack of hot water Breakfast , very high in carbs not many options if diabetic or other food allergies
- 5/5
Rooms clean and affordable
- 2/5
The rooms were smelly, dirtry
- 3/5
The hotel showed signs of deferred maintenance, but it was clean, the staff friendly, the bed comfortable and for the price, worth it.
- 2/5
Musty rooms, a lot of ants in bathroom
- 2/5
It was not bad… but not good. The room had a mild. moldy smell. The rug needed to be cleaned. Breakfast was poor (awful coffee). Nothing awful, but nothing to brag about either. I would not stay there again
- 4/5
My room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast wasn't great, but
- 4/5
Always stay at Microtel when I visit the area. Great value with friendly staff and smooth check-in/check-out. Complimentary breakfasts is nice. However, room quality and wireless access can be very inconsistent from visit to visit.
- 3/5
Not the best. Hotel needs a remodel. Staff was good.
- 3/5
I have stayed there on business several times & these things have always been an issue.
- 5/5
It was good def for the price staff was v nice
- 5/5
I like everything this convinced for my job. Clean, safe, quiet ,relable and excellent stay. Thank you!
- 4/5
Should have a microwave and fridge in room.
- 1/5
I shudder to think of what was unseen! Don't let the outside of the building fool you. The staff was great though. They are stuck in a bad situation & I don't blame them.
- 2/5
The hotel needs to be updated. The outside door doesn't close easily at night. The desk clerk doesn't work at the front desk. My light in the room only worked from one of the switches near my bed. I had to turn on the bathroom light to find a working light switch.
- 2/5
2. Someone tried to use our cc on file. Had to cancel card due to unauthorized purchases. Only use this card for deposits at hotels. 3. There were unhoused ppl staying there and gathered heavily in the smoking area out front. Will not stay again unless no other options.
- 1/5
The toilet did not flush and it’s sketchy at night
- 3/5
I found it ironic that I had to sign a notice about not smoking in the building, but the entire 3rd floor smelled like an old ashtray. The room smelled a bit like cigarettes, plus something else that I couldn't identify. Fortunately, I went "nose-blind" after 10 minutes or so and didn't notice it any more. The areas I was in looked clean; they just smelled bad. I also noticed that the doors to the outside (at either end of the building) were often left unlatched, negating the security of the keycard locks on them.
- 3/5
Bottom line is the motel is adequate for the price. It never advertise itself as a five star hotel.
- 3/5
No ice in the whole place. Machines all broken.
- 1/5
This place is old. The room smelled like mold, and the carpet was dirty. The staff is very friendly and nice, but unfortunately, the condition of the room was very poor.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, great housekeeping, clean.
- 2/5
Super nice front desk staff. Decent, well-kept lobby. Smelly and dank room. Dirtiest and stickiest carpet in a hotel room that I have ever experienced. Desperately in need of a steam cleaning. Cool nook by the window but the drawers were broken underneath of it. Phone didn’t work (couldn’t dial). Fan in bathroom didn’t work. Housekeeping staff wasn’t very friendly. No iron in the room. I’ve stayed at affordable places like this before but I’ve never had this disappointing of an experience. Definitely not a family stay location. Probably fine for a bare essentials survival spot for a single dude. I don’t enjoy doing reviews like this but Wyndham should know.
- 5/5
Good property
- 4/5
Decent for a night. Room smelled a little funny when we first walked in but it wasn't noticeable after being in there a few minutes. Smelled Marijuana at times but that seens to be the norm lately. Breakfast was just okay.
- 1/5
dirty and yucky feeling and looks nothing like the photos on hotels.com we saw a roach bug on a table in the breakfast dinning area. the beds are awful and the area was noisy with sketchy people hanging around. hands down worst microtel ive ever been in. we only stayed because i booked online and it was the cheaper of the two options.
- 5/5
Friendly Staff
- 2/5
Hotel is not maintained very well. Room smelled like smoker has been in room. Bed spread actually had a cigarette burn in the middle. AC was marginal and took several hours to cool room. Carpet is very dirty and probably needs to be replaced due to smoke odor
- 3/5
Long term housing project vs hotel
- 4/5
It wasn't the best room I ever stayed at but it was one of the cleanest and the staff was super friendly.
- 5/5
Love the staff and housekeeping; waking up every morning to breakfast and a variety of drinks was really great. I love that coffee is available 24/7 because I work a lot and drink lots of coffee. Definitely would recommend this place; looking forward until the next time.
- 3/5
Clean on the surface, but there were roaches
- 5/5
Will co.e back every time
- 5/5
Everything and everyone. An absolutegreatplaceto be
- 5/5
Morning breakfast has improved
- 5/5
All went well.
- 5/5
It was very nice
- 4/5
Overall very nice room. AC is noisy. Sounds like a ball dropping as it starts.
- 4/5
Overall it was what I expected a low cost quiet, clean room. Carpet wasn't brand new but had usual foot traffic for a motel. Ariel was fantastic as the front desk clerk and check in was a breeze. Only complaint is the fire alarm went off briefly in the building for some reason in the middle of the night but didn't have to evacuate. Wall length mirror across bed headboard creeped wife out but that's her complaint lol. I would stay again.
- 4/5
Ariel was extremely helpful
- 4/5
Room was clean, staff was friendly. Bed too soft.
- 2/5
Room was not very clean and had a damp smell…
- 5/5
Pet Friendly
- 5/5
I found hair on the bed sheets.
- 5/5
I slept well. The bed was excellent and the hotel was quiet.
- 5/5
This is a great place to stay. Very clean and friendly staff the stay was exceptional. And very reasonable. I stayed there going and coming.
- 3/5
The checkout person paid more attention to her phone than the guest. Room had a smell had to by air freshener.
- 5/5
Great price for hotel
- 5/5
It was a nice room
- 4/5
Not a luxury property (you already knew that) but clean, comfortable, and quiet. Very close to the interstate and just off a main street but far enough to be quiet. Breakfast was simple but satisfactory, if you aren't expecting an omelet chef. I attend an annual event not far away and I have stayed here every year for 15 years.
- 4/5
The property was fine. Was there just one night to sleep. Didn’t really do anything else while there.
- 5/5
Will continue to stay there.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Nice location, Wi-fi doesn’t work very well
- 4/5
All of the basics PLUS for a very reasonable price.
- 1/5
Horrible smell upon entering the lobby. Pot smell in the hallways
- 5/5
The hotel was extremely convenient to I-40 interstate. Staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Thank you
- 4/5
Comfortable. Not enough hot water.
- 1/5
I left this the hotel.....wet & sticky carpet, cigarette burns in the carpet, bugs in the room, picture fell off the wall and it smelled like smoke. I was moved 3 times and each room presented another issue. To say, 'you get what you pay for' is not a fair statement. I didn't expect the Ritz but I sure did expect the hotel (room) to be clean and comfortable. This hotel needs major cleaning and an exterminator. Stay away!!!
- 3/5
The person at the front desk was more concerned about her friends and checking me in
- 3/5
The hotel itself was nice. The free breakfast consisted of waffles, cereal, frozen sausage biscuits, and breads. The bed and the pillows were hard, the curtains didn't black out the outside light, and there was outside noise. Sleep was elusive. I wouldn't stay there again just because of the hard bed and pillows.
- 5/5
Served my purpose
- 5/5
Excellent staff
- 4/5
Wonderful for the price. Staff friendly
- 5/5
Fast and easy check in. Staff is courteous and knowledgeable. The rooms are clean. I did not see any loitering outside. Staff is easily spotted. If there is an issue they are very quick to correct it.
- 2/5
Door lock was broken. Rooms are pretty run down. Reception was nice and helpful.
- 3/5
The front desk girl not real friendly. The room has a bad odor, kinda stuffy. Bed is nice.
- 5/5
Easy parking. I felt very safe traveling alone.
- 5/5
Good price
- 3/5
The room smelled heavily like cigarette smoke. We noticed the smoke detector was covered by a plastic grocery bag. There was no hot water when we took a shower which is a first.
- 3/5
My wife did NOT like the smell of the room either… for what that’s worth.
- 4/5
Good breakfast
- 4/5
Good over night.
- 4/5
The continental breakfast was average at best.
- 2/5
The room is very dusty. The coverlet on the bed is stained. There is food spatter on the walls and the drapes. The desk area was stained. The outside of the cabinets in the sink area is dirty with fingerprints and smeared. The wall on the back side of the sink where the air/heat blows is full of dust. The carpeting is filthy.
- 4/5
Quiet! Convenient!
- 1/5
hot water in shower would not include cold , dangerous water temperature
- 5/5
I reviewed this property many times because I stay here a lot. Everything I said is absolutely true with the exception of you get right on the road that is at the end of the streetand it just buzzes right into Hillsborough and it’s easy and you have a pre-revolutionary war historical town to walk around in.
- 5/5
Very nice snd clean
- 2/5
No cups for a couple days … no cream for coffee for 3 days .. these are minor things a hotel should never go with out ..no smiles or greeting .. almost like your in there way ..building could use some attention .. stains on floors and furniture . I stayed in a microtel in New Hampshire it was amazing . 9 out 10 even … that’s why I thought with the name I can’t go wrong .. Hillsborough gets. 2 out 10
- 3/5
OK hotel. The room was clean. There was no allergy safe food for breakfast. Staff was too busy on their cellphone to be polite.
- 5/5
I slept great
- 5/5
Short get away. We call it our occasional Honeycomb Hideout.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly. Willing to help. Problems solved quickly
- 3/5
Room was clean and staff was good, however, the hallway and rooms had an unpleasant odor almost like mildew. Would stay there again but would hope that take care of this issue.
- 5/5
When we called down to ask for help because the TV didn't work the attention was terrible. "Sorry there is no one here after 4:00 to help with that." Shame on the planning for the property. Things happen when guests check in there should be a reasonable plan in place. After driving hours we looked forward to relaxing and TV was part of the plan. INDIFFERENCE is never attractive. At the end of a LONG travel day it was not acceptable. not what we expect from a Wyndham property
- 2/5
A disappointing stay from all the roaches we saw around the hotel
- 1/5
First floor smells like on cigar/weed 2nd flood a fish market mixed with cigar/weed Woke up sick soar throat and congested! STAFF! Extremely lazy more busy with the videos on her phone than welcoming me. If i dont feel welcome why would i come back? People dont like being spoke to as if they are disturbing your time! FILTHY! The carpets have never been wash I promise you that the bed must have been donated the pillow Had a blood stain! AC! Was Busted! Tv dint work! honestly it felt like a survival game staying in the worlds Worst motel!
- 3/5
Cheap and good value. Been coming for several years, and staff are always friendly and courteous. However, cleaning of the room is inconsistent. They sometimes do a great job, but then the following day they forget to give towels when they take away all of current towels.
- 5/5
Nice
- 3/5
The room was adequate for the amount of time we spent in it which was mostly sleeping. The front desk might person Latisha was very kind and accommodating. She is a gem!
- 4/5
Convenient for a one night stay and clean.
- 1/5
The concierge was very kind and helpful. I wouldn’t say “unsafe” but it was hidden away with a lot of random construction trucks around.
- 5/5
clean and comfortable for a nigts stay
- 2/5
Hard as a rock mattress Worst hotel stay I’ve had in a while
- 5/5
It was close to my daughters house that I came to visit.
- 2/5
Bath and bed seemed clean, but everything else was questionable at best. The carpeting made one fearful of being barefoot and there was some odd staining or repainting on the walls. I give the place a minimal passing grade for a one-night stay.
- 5/5
Great room for the price. Very clean
