Reviews
The hotel reviews are mixed, with guests appreciating the cleanliness, large rooms, and convenient location, but expressing concerns about the quality of breakfast, the presence of pests, and the condition of the rooms. Some guests also mentioned issues with the staff and the neighborhood.
- Cleanliness
- Large rooms and easy access
- Poor quality breakfast
- Presence of pests in some rooms
- 4/5
It was a little difficult getting to them because of the roads being blocked off due to city waterline construction.

Solid spot if looking to save $!
- 5/5
The room and staff was great ! Safe place .
- 3/5
Room was fine. But when we were there November 18, 2025 major construction had road access to parking lot totally cut off. Access to hotel is by driving through a rough and bumpy field to get to the back of the hotel.

Met our needs

Hotel was what I expected not special but nothing wrong for 100 dollars a night it was worth it!
- 5/5
The cleanliness was outstanding
- 5/5
Clean and convenient location to the university!
- 3/5
Spider webs in inside door. Smelled aweful musty, and hair dryer started shooting sparks and flames.. yes flames!
- 5/5
I don't usually spend a lot of money on hotels, and I realize you typically get what you pay for, but I was so pleasantly surprised by my stay! The staff was friendly and very accommodating. It was a motor lodge, do I had to walk up to my room from the parking lot. It was older on the outside, so I wasn't expecting much in the rooms. But my room was very neat, clean and updated! It was very quiet and I had everything I needed. Mini fridge, microwave, iron and ironing board, hair dryer...it was quite nice. I was there for a vendor event that was only 5 minutes from the hotel! There wasn't a completely accessible ice machine, but if you took your ice bucket to the desk, they filled it for you. In fact, I took a small cooler to my event each day and they gladly filled it for me. The complimentary breakfast wasn't over the top, but it was more than adequate, waffles, cereal, milk, juice and coffee. I think there were some danishes too, but i'm not a breakfast girl, so I didn't eat there. I would 100% stay there again!

Very clean and comfortable bed

Very amazing place to stay, excellent staff, very clean place, continental breakfast, outstanding location within the area, great places to go to eat and shop. Love staying there.
- 4/5
Basic accommodations. Older building, but well maintained. No gluten free options (cereal, packaged pastries, waffles). They request that food not be taken out of the dining area. Would stay here again without hesitation.
- 5/5
My stay was everything the property was clean staff was real friendly looking forward to stay here again
- 1/5
Not a great part of town. AC unit didn’t work in my room. Noisy tenants.
- 4/5
Only issue...I'm a smoker and I have to go outside to smoke, otherwise Great Stay.
- 5/5
What I did not like was having to go outside to smoke.
- 4/5
Our stay was satisfactory for 1 night and how cheap and affordable it was. Property was easy to find, and the room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
- 4/5
Price was right but pretty
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Low cost close to hospital clean with updated furnishings
- 4/5
Quick overnight stop on travel with school event
- 5/5
The property was clean. We stayed in room 109, there should be some repairs done, ie paint what has been repaired, remove the stains from the carpet and fix the door frames, repaint the repairs both inside and out
- 2/5
I found a bug or cockroches everyday in Bathroom and bed room. They need to sanitized whole place. Too bad
- 5/5
I loved that the rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable.
- 5/5
I love this place, nice and quiet in a calm and relaxed area
- 5/5
The people in the office were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were old, but for the cost were perfect. It’s our senior time here and we have had no major concerns.
- 4/5
The Inn offers rather "bare bones" accommodation, but it was clean, comfortable and priced right for a 1 night stay in the area. Plus, I enjoy the nostalgic feel of a 2 story motel.
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay
- 3/5
One night got what i paid for and was it was clean.
- 5/5
Very neat clean an tidy rooms smelled great they stressed no smoking an that was my downfall I hated but overall this is a comfortable an enjoyable relaxing place to get away together or business whichever you will have a great expeeience
- 3/5
It was okay for price. No conditioner in the bathroom. Aged building, rips on desk seat. Appropriate for cost.
- 4/5
Good stay. Clean room
- 5/5
It was nice and cozy
- 4/5
Clean and comfortable
- 5/5
I wasn’t sure when I arrived but it turned out to be an awesome stay! I even left a tip. I assume people don’t leave tips as I told the gentleman when I checked out, I left tip in room. He asked who was it for.
- 1/5
Everything.
- 5/5
The hotel was great and the price was good! I will stay here again if I come back to this area. Room was clean and didn’t smell or anything. Thanks!
- 5/5
Thank you for the stay
- 5/5
It was peaceful and clean
- 4/5
The room did not smell good; it had smoker’s smell. The staffs were nice. The area did not have shopping stores.
- 5/5
Thank you
- 3/5
Old spot for hotel. Middle of furniture district felt like bad neighborhood but was clean and didn’t see anything out of ordinary price was good so no complaints for 1 night stay. Not sure I’d stay again
- 3/5
served a purpose, would use again for a one-night stay.
- 3/5
it was average
- 3/5
We typically stay in this hotel when visiting our son in college. It's conveniently located. This experience, however, found some items that were not working (e.g., hair dryer) and the breakfast (no coffee, not waffle mix) and no juices were available or replenished. It seems that once the daily allotment was exhausted, there would be no replenishment. We went to breakfast at around 8:45 a.m. on a Sunday.

Dirty sheets, dirty towels, cockroaches, bugs, the list goes on and on. This place needs to be shut down and inspected by the city.
- 4/5
It was good
- 4/5
This is not a fancy and expensive place to stay but it's clean and easy, I had a few good days and nights.
- 3/5
Being tall, it's never fun when the showerhead is at eye level.
- 2/5
The phone had dirty finger print marks, and appeared not to work. A main light didn’t work making the room very dark. The smell of old cigarettes hits you very hard when you first walk in. The front door was not secure, weak lock and not sealed well. The bed and the linens looked clean and fresh but I could not bring myself to stay. The place looked like an old “one-night” stay that was trying to reinvent itself but fell short. I didn’t feel safe. I checked in and out in less than 10 minutes
- 2/5
I made the reservation through Expedia for two queen beds and 2 days before I got a call from the hotel saying that there were no rooms with 2 beds available anymore and that they only had a room left with a king size. Everything was a mess because we were 4 people, you can imagine how we slept. Terrible! The condition of the room was nasty, strong moisture smell, the bathroom hardware was all rusty and old, and the bathroom door was all messed up that we couldn't even close it. Luckily we slept there for one night. I couldn't stand staying there more than that.
- 1/5
DIRTY. Covers and sheets had stains and cigarette burn holes. Bathroom had paint chipping off. The free shampoo was empty which means they didn’t even bother resupplying. Didn’t even have the “free breakfast”. But hey, at least there was cable.
- 5/5
Friendly personal and very clean
- 3/5
Heater wasn’t heating properly In room 118 Paint was coming off wall by the door $90 for a room and no free breakfast
- 4/5
Staff is friendly. Close to downtown area & shipping.
- 3/5
The room and bathroom was kinda of small not enough room to move around and pillow had hair on it didn’t have enough towels
- 5/5
The motel was a motel. It was clean and the water was hot. Cannot really ask for much more from a motel.
- 4/5
The room was very musty.
- 1/5
Not the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, but probably the worst in the last 30 years. Stains all over the bed made me wonder if they rent rooms by the hour. The shower floor wobbled wildly so that you felt off balance during the entire shower experience. Worst of all, the air conditioning was so loud that it was impossible to sleep with it on, but it was too hot to sleep without it. I didn’t expect a luxury room for $85, but I expected to be able to sleep.
- 4/5
I stay in Highpoint quite a bit, this is the best balance of price, comfort, internet, & cleanliness.
- 5/5
Nice friendly staff. They keep it very clean.
- 1/5
Several areas of the walls appeared to be mid repair…there were stains on the sheets and holes in the blankets. Dead bugs on the floor. Eventually the room cooled down but it was very hot when we got there. For $100/night room you can’t expect the Taj Mahal, but you should be able to expect clean sheets and blankets.
- 2/5
Faded, seen better days.
- 1/5
First it took 30 minutes to get to my room with reservations because l had to wait for the shift to switch over or whatever. The staff had an attitude my room had dead cockroaches in it
- 1/5
The gentleman in line behind us, first name Gardner, heard the conversation and said that Don had called him as well to attempt to cancel his reservation. I encouraged him to hold his ground, demand the room, and write a complaint to Expedia as well. Hotel management is very dishonest, lies, very inhospitable, abuses the privileges of their contract with you, using Expedia to fill their rooms at a discount only if they cannot succeed in ruining travel plans for your customers, in lieu of selling the room last minute at a full price, a Ponzi scheme.
- 5/5
I love it
- 5/5
Very clean hotel, wifi works great, and the breakfast is good. Friendly staff, too. This place is a gem compared to other local hotels, and it's quiet too.
- 2/5
Water in toilet ran loudly periodically. Standing water in tub when showering. Hair dryer did not work. HVAC unit is very loud. No program descriptions for tv channel guide.
- 4/5
Malfunctioning appliance kept making racket all night! Breakfast was a joke.
- 1/5
The bathroom floor was dirty with hair around the edges. Hair was on the pillow and sheets of one of the beds, there was a stain on the comforter of the other bed. The door did not close properly, enough to lock but there was a large gap. The air inside the room smelled old, did not smell clean or had fresh air in weeks. The front desk clerk did not look up at me or make eye contact when I walked in to check in. She did apologize when I returned and told her I would not be staying because I felt uncomfortable and unsafe. She did not offer a refund and I did not ask for one (non-refundable booking.) Not sure who would choose to stay here. Hotel should be removed from this website. Pictures are very deceiving.
- 4/5
My stay was really good. Very clean well lit parking lot. The room was clean and spacious. The only thing was the outlets were far from the nightstands on the opposite walls and close to the floor but it was ok I just moved the office chair over to seat my phone on. The bathroom was big and bright very clean eith white/bright bath towelsans washcloths. The bed was really cozy and fresh/clean. The lady that checked me in was very friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
The refrigerator was warm and the internet was slow
- 3/5
Lighting by beds had a loose plug and/or outlet and the lights cut in and out. After a shower, the tub still hadn’t drained by the following morning.
- 1/5
All sheets, pillowcases and towels were stained. Doesn’t matter if they’d been washed they looked disgusting. There was no shower head and the hairdryer was broken in our first room. Furniture was worn and either stained or ripped. They moved us to a second room which had a shower head but all the other issues. The bed in the second room was terrible. Totally sunken in the middle. My wife and I had to sleep on the edges. The pictures of the property online are inaccurate and deceptive.
- 4/5
Would definitely stay again.
- 4/5
Very basic, clean and comfortable accommodations. Sadly, not much to do or walk to nearby.
- 5/5
Promise, I would not continue to return unless I was happy with the facilities in every way. I have future trips to High Point and will only stay at this property.
- 5/5
Nice quiet location, great service. Would definitely recommend to others and will be back in the future.
- 2/5
I liked it was clean.
- 1/5
Immediately went to the front office and said I'd need another room or a refund, they had no other rooms (of course), so I took my money and left. Save the headache, pay the $20 extra bucks and lodge down the road at a place with functioning amenities.
- 5/5
I love the staff she so sweet keep up the goid work.
- 3/5
I can't honestly answer all the questions on this survey due to the fact that we were only there to get some rest/sleep before traveling back home. What I did answer was disappointing. Been traveling since 3:30 am and in the heat for past 5-6 hours, we were very tired and hungry. We got to the room and we noticed it smelt musty, so we tried turning the A/C on. It didn't work, so I walked back to the office. She re-set the unit. I walked back to the room. Husband and son tried it again and it still didn't work. Husband called office this time (he noticed I was not a happy person at this point) and was told we'll be moved to another room. She was very nice and willing to work with us. Just aggravating.
- 5/5
GREAT
- 4/5
Very easy walk to Amtrak. Room was clean, employees were friendly.
- 3/5
First day had to kill a spider and a roch. We left a 4 day reservation after one night.
- 5/5
Our stay was great .I'm glad that we brought our own washcloths and towels because the ones in the room was dirty but overall it was very nice
- 5/5
It was good. We were traveling for work. It had everything we needed
- 2/5
I’m stay 3 nights and they don’t cleaning the room any day
- 3/5
Well, I made a polite complaint to Rod6who stated that he was the front desk manager. I rarely complain about this sort of thing but a group came in late and was noisy (I.mean screaming, pou6on walls, floors etc.). It went on most of the night and I got no sleep. Rodney cut me off, was rude, defensive, dismissive. Very unprofessional. A real disappointment since I was a return customer. I don't think my concern was unreasonable. In the past, if I've expressed a concern, which is infrequent, staff would least listen, and maybe even offer something i.e. 10 percent discount for good measure. Next time I will be more than happy to stay at a good hotel!
- 2/5
Convenient location to market was the only plus. The curtains didn't close, cigarette burns and smell in the non-smoking room, no ironing board/iron in the room and a very large gap in the door that air was blowing through.
- 2/5
40$ cash depoist, after i paid on line for the room
- 1/5
The place was so dirty and felt disgusting, there were no housekeepers available, the bed were tiny and horribly uncomfortable and my family and I were barely able to sleep, and the AC was in terrible condition and in a bad position, so if I turn it on it hit me right in the face. Also the area was pretty bad and and there was so much noise. Honestly a terrible experience.
- 1/5
I check in then I got to my room. Look around the room before I put my stuff in.. try to connect to the WiFi and it said wrong password. So I called front desk to ask him was it a different password cause the one he given me was wrong. Oh my the front desk clerk tells me “Well that’s the only password we have. You just go have to deal without it.” Mind you I really need the WiFi for my classes and test I had to take online. Then he say “Look I’ll text the owner’s to see if it a different password.” So I go to the office and before I can get in the door he had my money in his hand and talking disrespectful. I asked for the owners number he really didn’t like that. I start dialing numbers on my phone by the time I could put it to my ear he had another password written down on paper. Saying “ Here this one for the office but I guess I’ll let you login on this one.” Oh my I about lost it. I took the password and went back to the room just to get a call from front desk saying I can only login one device to that password. I’m so not staying there that man was RUDE over a WiFi password.
- 4/5
My stay was nice. The room was clean.
- 3/5
ALL AMENITIES WERE WORKING ( TV, COFFEE MAKER HAIR DRYER ) AIR CONDITIONER SHOULD BE UPDATED, CURTAINS ALSO
- 5/5
Great staff, location and free parking. cannot find a closer hotel for market that has parking right in front of your room and a great cafe right across the street... we will be back.
- 5/5
We were traveling from Pittsburgh to Myrtle Beach. We always stop in High Point, NC as a break from the 10 hour trip. This was a very affordable hotel and was very worth $78. It was clean and felt safe. It had everything we needed. No use paying for amenities that we would not use like a gym or pool.
- 4/5
This hotel was outstanding for the price. It was clean, front desk staff was personable and helpful, the location was great. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Amazing location for my needs.
- 4/5
The room was cozy and clean. Easy and friendly check in. Great working AC and heating unit. Comfortable bed. Unfortunately maintenance was being performed beneath the room starting in the morning so that was a little frustrating. Overall was worth what you pay for.
- 2/5
Took too long to check in room was cold
- 5/5
This is a basic in the city motel that is exactly what we needed ... Clean... Comfortable and Quiet... It has been totally updated and one of the best kept serets of High Point. I plan on staying there again next time I'm in the area.
