Great location, easy check-in and out, quiet but the best thing was I did not have to check out until 12:00, when was very helpful to me. Everything was fine.

The room wasn’t that clean. The shower I had to clean myself. The smell when you got of elevator was bad. Smelled like very bad mold. Laundry room was off the elevator so maybe clean that area up. The carpets in hallway need cleaning by elevators. Check in took forever because of the new system that this company has. That smell didn’t care for getting off elevator. Fire alarm went off because someone smoking in bathroom. Mattress should be moved and clean under, the amount of stuff in the cracks was very gross.

Clean room, great staff

Besides the hotel seeming a senior employee already showing some issues, the rooms suffer from the AC noises and it’s hard to sleep with compressors resonance during the night. Shower doesn’t have water pressure and its clearly an old facility with compatible issues.

Location Breakfast needs more protein items.

When we arrived the place was clean staff was polite we got to our room and it appeared clean we tried to turn on the TV but it wouldn’t work we called the front desk she came up and apparently a past guest stole the HDMI cord and she said she couldn’t get another one…. But said she would give us a discount on the room but upon check out we mentioned it and they said because we booked through Expedia they couldn’t give us a discount. Breakfast was great!

The stay was very good, comforting and clean. The only thing I notice was the bathroom mirror light is not very bright.

I enjoyed our overnite stay. Hotel was very clean and bathroom was very up to date with a beautiful walk in shower. My only negative was the pillows are down filled and I don't like soft squishy pillows. I usually bring my own pillow from home but decided I did not need it for one night.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for 5 days. Very peaceful and very clean Hotel. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.

Our room smelled, we could not determined if it was cleaning fluids or just bathroom odors. We had to keep the bathroom door closed all night. Around the bed headings was dirt and dust. The refrigerator was a treat in the room.

I wa extremely disappointed that because I hadn't mentioned my AARP membership at the beginning of the stay, it wasn't honored when we checked out! It shouldn't make a difference when they're informed of it, the discount SHOULD BE HONORED!

The bed was very comfortable and the staff was nice. I didn't receive any room service. I was told we would receive room service on the 1st day Sunday but not on the 2nd day Monday. We didn't get room service on Sunday. Room service came on Monday, the day of checkout. So our room was dirty.

The Fairfield Inn in Hickory, NC was very clean and comfortable. We stayed for one night to use medical facilities nearby and could not have been more pleased.

It was quiet. Staff was away from her desk for about10 min. I guess she was on break.

Indoor pool. It was a little chilly not warm like we expected but we still enjoyed it.

Two small issues--two of the room's electrical outlets didn't securely hold plugs, and this could present a fire hazard. The other issue was a $20 difference between our first night there earlier in the week and the second one later on. I booked through hotels.com, and was quoted the same rate for each night. Otherwise, we would certainly select this hotel again for a mid-trip overnight.

Checkin was quick and easy. The room was neat and clean and very acceptable. The first night was quiet but I was unable to sleep all night due to the feather pillows. In the morning I requested a foam pillow be dropped off at my room during the day. the second night I slept a full 8 hours with no disturbances!. Breakfasts were ok. Nothing fancy, but hot and acceptable.

Pool area was very small and had very bad chemical smell. I know they have to keep it at a certain level but ventilation would have helped. Breakfast area needs updating. It is very small. Felt like I was always bumping into someone. Front desk clerk was great when I checked in. When I came back to my room after a long day of meetings my TV didn’t work, I called the front desk and they send someone right away. he said housekeeping just probably unplugged it when they were cleaning since it was working when I left. Now that’s a big problem because I had my do not disturb sign on my door. I had an issue with housekeeping before and just prefer they not be in my room. I know that all housekeepers are not the same, but this just my feelings.

Our stay was surprisingly inexpensive considering the high quality of service and a wonderful room.

Very outdated property with limited amenities for the price

The hotel itself is nice. The beds are not overly comfortable but for a quick over night stay ok. We were disappointed in their staff. Upon check-in they couldn't find our reservation never ask how to spell our last names just kept saying no don't have that. We were suppose to have 2 rooms and they could only find one so we had to book an additional room although my confirmation clearly showed 2 rooms at $145.77. We then had to pay an additional $10 for the room since they couldn't find the reservation. We later found out it was under a different name according to front staff but upon checkout the morning staff confirmed it was under my name and yes we had 2 rooms and it clearly showed that. She couldn't figure out why the nighttime staff couldn't clearly see that. So we still had to pay the extra $10 and I now I don't get my reward for the room. The other issue is they charged $180 to my credit card, $170 on another room then the 3rd room we had for the next night they only charged the rate plus a $20 incidental. Another friend traveling with us was only charged the rate and no incidentals. Upon check in they ask me to fill out a credit card form for the 3rd room we were using for our trip and the next day that form had been misplaced and now who knows where my american express card numbers are? Also the wifi is free but if you click on a certain area upon sign in they will charge you $4.95 for premium which we also were charged for.

A last-minute decision to visit the Hickory area. Hotel staff were very helpful and the place was very clean.

From check in to check out, went smoothly. Everything was clean and well stocked. Great location. Breakfast was average, but ok.

It was close to Route 40 but the road it was on was not a busy one. On our way to the property we were looking for a place to eat for a team of hungry baseball players, coaches and parents and were pleased to see that we had a number of quality choices.

I really liked that they had ice water and coffee/tea available all day for the guests (for free). Everyone was very pleasant.

I called Fairfield, and not only did they let him check in for me, but they also let him do early check in at 12 noon (3PM was advertised check in). The room was super clean/comfy from the bed to the bathroom. The continental breakfast was great, and the hotel was quiet at night. Made the weekend that much more enjoyable.

We go gold panning a couple times a year and usually stay overnight in hickory. Fairfield is usually a very nice clean and modern hotel. The room was musty and the overall hotel seems a bit run down/dated. For the price and the chain we expected much better. We won’t be back

Positives- The lady working the breakfast was very helpful & friendly. The breakfast was good & we had a lot to choose from. The indoor pool was also nice for the kids. Location could not have been better.

Air conditioning was not working. Room was ok. Clean but not all vacuumed. Average room. Pricier than others around. Breakfast was good. And staff running it was fantastic at keeping demand

Overall, I would rate this hotel at a B. The rooms were clean and seemed fairly new. My only major complaint was the interstate noise. In the future if I ever stay there again I will request a room away from the interstate.

Great location; very nice spread for breakfast -- lots to pick from. Loved that you could get a cup of coffee or tea anytime during the day. Bed/pillows were so comfortable. Would stay here again.
