Property was very clean and stuff were very friendly and helpful. Offered a nice Continental breakfast. I really enjoyed my stay.

Good hotel for staying during bacation

The staff is always so friendly and helpful. The rooms are always so nice and clean. We have stayed at a local hotel and was not pleased at all. This was our 3 year staying at Best Western and we will continue to use this hotel when we are in Hickory. My children love the breakfast and pool. The location is amazing to, only 10 to 15 minutes away from the gyms we have basketball tournaments at. WE Love Everything nothing negative to report.

The staff were wonderful. The room was from the fifties. Wallpaper was coming off the wall. No plug-ins for charging our phones and tablets.

Excellent location for our visit and the complimentary breakfast was very good. Staff were friendly and accommodating when we requested a room in a specific part of the hotel.

When I showed him my confirmation from you, he said you made a mistake not BW....he eventually admitted that they do accept dogs but not with queen beds . Toilet bowl too low to the floor...base cut to accommodate children? See above

The staff was excellent, nice rooms!

1 of the beds had a mattress pad/cover as the blanket along with a fitted sheet. The refrigerator was leaking and making a horrible noise, had to unplug it. Bathroom had peeling paint and a brown stain in the shower.

Unfortunately this hotel is both a hotel ans a motel and we got put into the motel side of it- which wouldn’t been good to know. It’s my only complaint. Otherwise it was clean, the staff was amazing and great coffee.

Honestly, This was little gem of a motel. Newly redecorated, with a touch of class in the lobby and breakfast room. The room was spotless and comfortable. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was more than expected with freshly made breakfast sandwiches, along with the normal breakfast fare. We will be back.

WE WERE THERE FOR 3 NIGHT FOR A WEDDING, WE HAD OVER 30 PEOPLE AND THERE CAFETERIA WAS A GREAT PLACE FOR ALLOF US TO GATHER, THER BREAKFAST IN MORNING WERE GREAT, THANKS JOHN FOR HELPING US.

There is no elevator to the 2nd floor. The breakfast was very crowded, running out of seating and coffee. The line for waffles was too long for us to get waffles (at least a 20 minute wait time). The room itself was clean, with a laminate floor.

Website said they had EV charger they did not i had to walk half a mile to one at convention center

we were glad we could do some shopping for our trip nearby.

Old place but clean - goo value

Pretty comfortable stay. First of all, this hotel had the best breakfast ive had at any hotel!! Home cooked breakfast every morning!!! Not the usual hotel breakfast!! The 2 ladies working in the kitchen area are the nicest people you ever gonna meet. The hotel it self was great. Very quiet. I had a 3 night stay and i heard nothing at all. Room was nice. Bathroom could use some updating. Plenty of food options nearby. Staff at the desk was great as well. I would definitely stay here again.

No smoke alarm/ vending machines take money, tv didn’t work, homeless/criminal elements loitering on property.

My toilet was broken and made noise all night. Bathroom was run down and poorly repaired.Rm 159 needs to be closed to consumers.

My principal complaint is I checked in around 6 PM and the hotel was still half empty. I asked for an inside room or a second level room and was told the hotel was completely booked. There’s no way every room on the second floor was occupied when I checked in nor was there anyway that the rooms on the inside were 100% occupied. Most of the rooms on the second floor were dark when I checked in. Just a bit aggravated that they were so accommodating. I’ll not stay there again.

The Best Western is old and needs remodeled. There was no elevator, therefore we needed to go up and down steps every time. Some of the hallways door knobs we’re loose and didn’t shut properly. The air conditioner was nice and cold but was really noisey probably because it is so old.

The building is old, mattress and spring box are old. The cover on the spring box was torn. Guest staying there were loud outside and scary.

Very disappointed arrived they did not have a queen room. They had no elevator, expecting me to climb stairs with a person who has a disability, then wanted to put me in a room that smell like cigarettes were embedded in the wall. I will never stay at the best Western again Holly over price price for what they offer and they blamed it all on Expedia

The stay was very noisy being it’s right on the highway. My biggest gripe would be the continental bkfst was very limited. Best Western usually does a lot better.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the check in was very good and the staff were very friendly. There are 2 reasons I did not give 5 stars. The water pressure was not good and there was a “party” in the parking lot right outside of our room that kept me up later than I would have liked.

The room itself was a disappointment. The floors were dirty, the chairs were stained and nasty, and the door had to be kicked open just to get in — not ideal for a woman over 50 dealing with extra weight. That alone was embarrassing and unsafe. To make things worse, the pool was unavailable (no explanation given), and the complimentary popcorn at check-in was stale. Room service tried to come into the room at 10 a.m., even though check-out was listed as 12 — not okay after the restless night I had. Parking was terrible; we had to park far from the room, and the steps weren’t anywhere close. Honestly, we didn’t even try the free breakfast after all that. At $140 a night, this was a massive overcharge for what felt like a 2-star experience at best. Overall, I’m really sad and frustrated with our stay. I would not recommend this hotel unless serious improvements are made. The rates were higher because there are a lot of other hotels within walking distance of this one that are better and worth the price.

Remodeled and very comfortable

There was mold up on the ceiling in the corners of the bathroom. The room really needed a complete update (no USB ports at all!) as well as a better paint job as the corners of the walls were maybe painted by a 5 yr old. I will say that the desk employee was friendly and when he noticed I used a cane he saw that our room was on the 2nd floor and there were no elevators. So, he moved us to a lower-level room. Hence the room in the pet friendly hallway. I couldn't find a room at any other hotel, so I took a chance on this one. Won't be selecting Best Western again.

The staff was so kind! Older hotel but cozy and they even had homemade Christmas cookies in the lobby. They were so good. The receptionist was very nice, everyone that worked there was just so kind and understanding of me traveling with my toddler alone.

Hotel had renovations. Construction going on in rooms above us.

The hotel was easy to get to off the interstate. My only complaint is there was a lot of street noise.

We were put in an outside room 2nd floor no elevators. The lights didn’t work, called front desk & told to wriggle the switch. Shower had more water coming out of the faucet then the shower. When I called the front desk to try and change rooms was told there were no available rooms in the hotel left.

Room smelled moldy

We had a nice overnight stay. The staff was friendly and the rooms were a little dated but clean. I'd stay again.

Power out, we drove 6 hrs to get there. Did not know when power will be restored, we spent 1 night, no power. We were supposed to stay 3 nights. Left after 1 night. They should have alerted us to the situation, we would have canceled. We are on line now to see about a refund.

Room was clean and comfortable. Linens were clean. Whole motel seems to need updating but hospitality and attendants are very dependable and kind and obviously do their best to make it presentable. Breakfast was very nice.

the motel room was difficult to find and was on second floor. entry door to the room was an outside door and no elevator. carrying luggage up the steps was exhausting. compared to other motels in the area was very overpriced. lighting on outside balcony was poor and room numbers so small we could not see them unless up close. overall a bad experience. the only redeeming aspect was the charm of the breakfast caretaker who was friendly and helpful.

This is a decent hotel in Hickory. 10 minutes from the downtown. Good parking, dining nearby and a mall. The internet is not great.

Keys!!!! Should have been the sign to run in the opposite direction, but being a gluten for punishment we stayed. Every time we wanted into our room we had to find someone the works for the hotel to let us in our room. Then the cherry on top happened when we returned to our room on the last night. The desk customer service key wouldn’t work, we were locked out of our room for over an hour at MIDNIGHT!!!!

This place REALLY needs a refresh! The room looked like that of a much cheaper chain. The bathroom door was shredding at the base, which is dangerous. There are several layers of caulking around the tub. Does not look good. For $20 more a night we could’ve been in a significantly better hotel.

The staff were very friendly and helpful when we requested to have an inside room. The rooms were newly renovated and very clean as was the whole hotel.

Also, as a safety concern for my little young kids, there is no side walk to walk from the exterior rooms to the office or dinning area. You have to walk on the road. Poor design, and unsafe. The sink did not drain in our room. Hair or other things have clogged it, not cool. Become and eggs were over cooked, dry and hard. Those are basic food to cook and if it's not cooked correctly you know what else isn't, the service. We called for extra towel and we're just told to go get it. Most places will bring it to your door especially late at night. Not ideal... No I will not be staying here next time I'm back here. Plenty of other places for the same money paid. Not worth the $100 /night.

Overall, a good value and friendly staff. However, the Expedia website and Best Western website referenced electric vehicle charging, which does not exist (and never did per the hotel staff). There are charging options just 10 minutes away, but it would have been more convenient to charge overnight than to charge 25 minutes at the local Tesla Supercharger.

The Star Rating on this property seems low. The rooms are recently renovated and the Staff’s service was much better than similar properties.

Was not expecting an exterior door but it was a great room and very clean. We overlooked the courtyard/pool area. It was quiet and well kept. I felt safe. The food selection at breakfast was great. Lots of options and well stocked right till the end. Great staff the entire visit. One of the best BW i have stayed in.

It was the first time in north carolina staying at the best western in hickory nc but lady who does night audit gave us a ground room around back since we had my service dog with us for. She made sure to give me the tolitery i asked for since it was too late to go shopping for the things i needed plus we were low on funds. Husband and i slept like a baby in the big king bed and the shower in the morning before work was perfect nice and warm and strong water pressure

Our 100K Rollback was stolen off the parking lot at 3am. No camera footage whatsoever.

The room was pretty good there were only 2 towels and 2 wash cloths . I think there should be 3. The door was broken the lock was broken out of frame. The room was nice but felt very unsafe. And there was a shifty man outside they need outdoor cameras.
