The rooms and kitchen were great. Plenty of room for a family of five. The property did have some bug problems. Otherwise, I would give it all top ratings.

Room smelled very bad. I specifically selected the hotel because of its high ratings on booking.com and was very disappointed that now I don’t really know if I can trust there ratings next time.

Check in staff seemed to be inexperienced and therefore slow. They asked for location preference in complex and booked me into exact opposite of stated preference. Room was all the way at end of complex when I was told it was close to clubhouse and would be quiet. In fact the neighboring renters were extremely loud and unruly. I've stayed at this Hotel many times in past with good results but never again....may be new management but has now become unacceptable.

One of the biggest highlights was having private bedrooms and two separate bathrooms. For anyone traveling with family or friends, that setup is a dream. It made getting ready each morning much easier and far less stressful. We also appreciated how well-equipped the kitchen was. Everything we needed was already there, which was refreshing. At many extended stay properties, you have to request kitchen items from the front desk, so having everything available from the start was a nice convenience. The staff was also very accommodating when an unexpected mandatory online work meeting came up on our departure day. They worked with us on a late checkout, which we greatly appreciated. My main complaint involves the checkout process. Staff did not review or confirm charges with us at check-in and instead processed everything at checkout. I have been traveling for decades and have never encountered this. Every hotel I've stayed at has reviewed the room type, confirmed the charges, and allowed guests to choose which card they wanted to use. That lack of communication was disappointing. The only other issue was the appearance of the property outside our room. There was a pile of discarded items, including old microwaves and other appliances, sitting nearby. The staff was impersonal, the property was rundown, the only thing they cared about was serving breakfast promptly at 6 and running to put everything out of reach at 9am, EVEN THE COFFEE! Where do I start? First, they gave us a room on the back of the LAST BUILDING, and each night the only available parking was at the VERY OTHER END, by the office. I am handicapped, with a parking placard, yet EVERY HP spot was occupied by the time we came back in the evening, many by vehicles without the proper placard or plate! We stayed there 4 days, and asked each day for fresh towels and to have the room serviced. one of the soap dispensers in the shower came off, and over four days the best that happened was a maintenance man came to glue a connector back on the wall, but the bottle was never attached. The daddy-longlegs spider was a special touch! NOT ONCE WAS THE GARBAGE EMPTIED OR THE TOWELS CHANGED OUT! There were crates stored under the stairs outside our room door, and it appears most of the surrounding apartments were EMPLOYEE occupied, as evidenced by the barbecue grill, open trash containers and work boots outside the door of the apartment next to us, and the POTTED PLANTS in the window!. The condition of the landscape STUNK - look at the splintered lumber. Even the outside trash was filled to the point of spilling over!

It was very clean and comfortable. Would be great if you’re staying for a long period of time and wanted a kitchen. It was set up like a little apartment. They don’t have an elevator so you have to carry everything up the stairs.

This “hotel” was more like a “time share” place as folks were living there. The place was clean and due to the weather situation at Dulles, which was at weather related stoppage, this was one of the few facilities which had availability. The availability of an airport shuttle was one of our deciding factors but we waited for over an hour and a half to be picked up at the airport despite calling there 3 times. When we checked in, we asked about an early morning shuttle back to the airport as our rescheduled flight was at 0815 but were told the earliest airport shuttle would not be available until 0730. We had to call a taxi for our airport transportation. Would we stay there again; only if nothing else was available. No dining facilities were nearby.

I was on the 2nd floor, and it was tough hauling a bunch of bags (and a chunky beagle who refused to go up the steps) up the steps since there was no elevator. Breakfast was the biggest disappointment. I went one morning, but there was no point in going back the other days. There were just (runny) eggs, small biscuits, and gravy. I don't eat meat (allergic), so there really wasn't anything for me to eat, except for a hard apple or some type of dry muffin. The only fruit was apples. There were no hash browns or potatoes, no oatmeal, no waffles or pancakes, not even a banana, etc. If you can't eat just the meat, there's no point in going to breakfast.

It was obvious that it was not vacuumed well. Other than that, it was very nice! We did not report on this as we were barely in our apartment. They were able to check me into a room before my check-in time. I've been staying at this hotel for over 12years, back when it was Staybridge and I must say I do not like the change. The kitchen is smaller with less appliances and check-out is 2-hours earlier. The breakfast is ok sometimes. The shower/bath tub looks out dated.

We only stayed an evening due to canceled flight, but looked to be terrific for 4,+ days stays.

An excellent choice for a long-stay. I was here only one night but the facility has a good gym and laundry, and the rooms are like mini apartments. The TVs didn’t have apps but you could conned another device if needed. There was some confusion about where the shuttle would pick up from the airport; call ahead and ask which number to stand by. Otherwise, a wonderful stay.

I selected this hotel due to a good location to the air port. A stafff when I called from the airport to ask shuttle bus was nice, he was kind. A staff at my check out in the mornin at around 6 am was bad. I asked to issue anivoice but he explained it should be issued by Bokking.com even though I paied the accomodation fee there. It was wrong. I finaly got it from the hotel by asking to send it by mail. A staff who I called (a lady) acted quickly and she was polite.

stove top took a long time to heat. There were not sufficient pots or a large bowl. The water pressure in the shower was horrible. Aside from that, our stay was lovely.

I loved the way each room was its own mini apartment. Having 2 bedrooms, each with a full bath was perfect! It looked like it had been cleaned in a hurry. I did a cleaning/disinfecting of each bathroom and sink area and door handles/light switches. It needed to be cleaned before out use.

The room was absolutely fantastic for my husband and I to share with our daughter and her boyfriend. Amazing having two separate bedrooms and I guess I hadn't paid enough attention to the listing, but was shocked when I realized there were also TWO BATHROOMS! Our room was extremely clean and well maintained (kind of a shock for a pet-friendly hotel). Full size fridge, microwave, dishwasher... an actual coffee maker! Not one of those single serve jobbers. My husband noted that the biscuits and gravy for breakfast were pretty good, but the eggs were a bit odd. Check in was quick, easy, and the front desk attendant was nice. Only complaints were that the door to our room wouldn't actually latch unless we slammed it. At least two of the desk chairs were put together backwards? Weirdest thing ever lol. They dumped you forward instead of letting you recline. And this wasn't the property's fault, but other guests left a huge mess under the pavilion at one of the community grills and one guest had basically just let their dog run free in the grass area while they weren't even outside. Based on the experience of just our room, the staff, and the location, we'll definitely choose Sonesta again next time we're in the area!

Quiet area adjacent to Dulles Airport with good restaurants nearby.

Great location near Washington Dulles International Airport, very convenient for travel. The room condition was very disappointing. The furniture was damaged with broken edges and exposed material, which felt unsafe and poorly maintained. There was also an insect in the sink, raising serious concerns about cleanliness. Overall, the hygiene and maintenance standards were far below expectations.

I love here, super clean, very close to the IAD, it also have shuttle bus to airport. I lived for 2beds twice, 1 beds once,which gave me quite well sleep experience.

The room was clean, however, for a non smoking room it stank of smoke. Giant ashtrays were feet from the door of the unit and ash and buds all over deck. The room next door seemed to be smoking weed 24/7 so it constantly smelled just trying to get to the room. People would be hanging out in the common walkways, smoking and blocking the stairs. Not somewhere you want to be other than just to rest your head.

The room was in excellent condition—spacious, comfortable, and well-designed. The kitchen was functional and convenient. The staff were friendly and welcoming. One concern: my room was on an upper floor, and I had to carry my luggage myself. It would be helpful if a porter service could be provided to assist guests.

Sonesta ES Suites Dulles Airport: location, service, and breakfast worked for a short business trip. Sonesta ES Suites Dulles Airport is an average hotel. If you need a place to stay long-term, they have perfect amenities.

I think it’s an apartment complex converted into a hotel. So it was spacious. Just old. We were on the lower floor by the stairs. It was noisy from people thudding up and down. But, overall ok. The staff were delightful. That makes up for a lot.

I like that it’s located near so many different restaurants and local bars so there’s always something to do! Also I love that it has a stove technically and everything that you need to be comfortable during long stays! I didn’t dislike anything!

Location is great. Reception stuff and shuttle driver were amazing. Ordered a suite with two rooms. One room was hot as hell, while the other one was not getting any heat at all. In the evening it was bearable, but at night my son had to move to sleep on the sofa, as it was not possible to stay in such a cold room. We were hoping to have decent sleep before the long drive, but surprise — due to some malfunction in their system, we were awakened by the fire alarm at 5 am. We had to wait in freezing temperatures to get back to the room. Tried to fall asleep, and then the next fire alarm went off. A neighbor was complaining that it happened the day before as well. Apologies were only offered when I said it was a horrible experience. Do not recommend staying if you actually want to sleep at night.

When they want to put us in a pet friendly room I asked if we could move to a different room because I have bad allergies. They didn’t hesitate to give us another room. It was a suite. So nice and comfortable. The taxi’s driver who took us to the airport was amazing. Very good experience. Thank you

I was assigned a room at the very far end of the property. I had to push my heavy bag for a very long distance. It was dark and I was unable to locate my room. After complaining I was given a room on the 2nd floor! I had to carry my bad (30kg) to the upper floor. Overall, an unpleasant experience.

However our room STANK of stale cigarettes and weed. The breakfast was good though it was a decent walk from our room outside to the main area and gym, which would’ve been fine except it was super cold over the winter. Gym was great, loved that part. Parking was limited.

The room was clean and comfortable for sleeping. There were no rooms above us so it was very quiet as well. I also appreciate the heater in the bathroom. Will likely stay again when visiting this area if it remains budget friendly.

I was surprised that I was unable to catch the Sunday night NFL game on the TV. Why do you have the phone in the living room instead of near the bed? Otherwise excellent and no complaints.

When I was about to checkout, I went to put my bags in my car and was locked out of the room. The manager (with white hair - forgot his name) immediately provided me another key so I can grab the rest of my bags with no issue and even asked me if I wanted a ride to the airport. My only complaint was the use of a plug in air freshener-I am very sensitive and couldn't stop sneezing even after unplugging. Please don't use those!! Parking is tight, but this is the Dulles area so not surprising. Overall it is an excellent property.

It was a decent Hotel. On a 6 night, 7 day stay we had our room cleaned once. We asked the front desk three different mornings to please clean, replace towels, empty trash, the basics. Never saw the cleaning people after day 1. Bathroom exhaust fan did not work. They did send maintenance for tnis relatively quick. Bugs under the kitchen sink and guest bathroom floor. Would definitely not stay again if near Dulles. Gave 3 stars for the decent wifi and breakfasts in the morning.

Nice shuttle driver. Fair breakfast. The carpet in the room was soaked, though, and I had wet socks until the staff suggested using the free laundry. If you're stuck here by a cancelled flight like I was, there is nothing here but a bed and a TV.

The breakfast each day was hot and delicious. They offer laundry machines on site for use by the guests and have a transportation service as well to travel to the airport or Metro station. Our toilet was still not working. So we basically spent a whole day with a non working toilet since the person on front didn’t put in the order.

We did not eat in the room- we arrived late and left early. We were only there to sleep, shower, and then be on our way.

We are family of four that was travelling voa dulles airport. This hotel had a free shuttle to airport, 5 dollar day parking ,large 2 bedroom units and free breakfast. Perfect.

It is a nice quiet place to stay. A good place for family bc they have bedrooms and a living room area.

I had stayed at Sonesta previously and recommended Sonesta for a friends trip. We found the suites very well maintained. The check-in and staff were excellent; any help we needed, they were attentive!

We liked the two bedroom, two bathroom units. Everything was clean and updated. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within a 5-15 minute drive. Downtown DC was also only about a 35 minute drive, which was convenient. The area was very quiet and safe.

Very nice hotel, awesome staff, very clean. The only downside is that there seemed to be a group of people living there, one approached us asking for money, she seemed to be an addict. Some others just seemed sketchy but didn't cause any issues. Location is great, breakfast is great

Unfortunately, it was a renovated room.However it smelled like smoke and the ice maker didn't work and the stove was difficult to operate and wasn't working at all. Front desk was polite.The unit was clean but uneasy with location and sketchy folks..i had random knocks at door in evening and it scared me. I am not sure i would stay here again.

Breakfast was very limited, didn’t even have pancakes or waffles. We ended up going to a local diner.

It was an amazing experience. The manager was very cordial and helpful.

The upgrade on the room are excellent. This is the place you want to be if you need a get away. Love the Sonesta for years. Staff is always wonderful and professional.

As far as an extended stay goes, they seem better furnished and kept up than others I've been to. Staff is incredibly friendly, their pet policy is very reasonable, and overall this Sonesta ES is a great value. Have stayed here twice in the last year, been impressed both times, especially with the recent renovations.

The property is also a fantastic choice for fur parents. They are pet-friendly, which made traveling with our pet much easier and more comfortable. We’ll definitely book here again the next time we’re in the area. It’s a wonderful option for anyone traveling with their pets.

Simply amazing. It really felt more like an apartment than a hotel. Even had some dishes to use. Super clean and felt like at home. The beds were comfy. Oh and the price was great!

Hotel is in renovation state service was lacking . Breakfast was not as expected no warm foods frozen bagels no options or choices especially for children I walk out each day with just a coffee and bought food for breakfast elsewhere. But rooms were nice and clean quite hotel

I think that the breakfast could have been better -- as I recall, it was all bread/carbs. Not healthy and no protein. I did not eat the breakfast offered by the hotel.

There was a lot of construction noise and dust, the new carpet and furniture was out-gassing such that I had to keep windows open, the parking spaces were very reduced and totally full at night, and my unit still had outstanding punch-list items, including essentials like a shower door and spoons. Considering the non-refundable, pre-paid price required to book, I did not expect to deal with these issues. I relocated as soon as possible.

Loved my stay here! Location was great, it was only 17 minutes from my daughter's soccer tournament. I will definitely stay again!

No room upkeep during our stay at all. We were a family of 7 and had to go ask for towels and toilet paper every day. Once, our toilet clogged up and they let us know they had no plunger for us to use. The furniture was threadbare and there was no dish soap or coffee filters for our use. Breakfast wasnt good quality, either.

The room was dated, old furnishings dirty old carpet and stained curtains.

Do not stay here! There were bugs in the cabinet around the trash. Then when I pulled back the covers there were multiple small bugs on the beg, based off of size and them jumping I believe they were fleas. This place is NOT CLEAN!

The staff was very friendly. The room was neat. However the room smelled heavy with cigarettes.

Awful smells. Had to purchase air freshener. Bathroom very small. Furniture worn out and smelled bad.

Breakfast was not as advertised on the website. Mixing short term guests with extended stay guests. Room maintenance was not great. Shower door was missing a roller and did not close properly. No street signage making it difficult to find.

Absolutely terrible experience. Everything was dinged, dented, dirty or broken. One bathroom toilet was overflowing even before we got to the room and proceeded to continue flooding until we played with the handle, but then had to clean up the water with the room towels. Black mold around the vents, no linens for the pull out couch. The hotel never got quiet, not once all night. Awful, just awful.

I'd absolutely recommend this hotel to other families. We have stayed there twice after a long-haul flight, before continuing on our journey. The rooms are a good size, and easily accommodated our family of 5, the staff are helpful, and the breakfast has plenty of choice and is good quality. The decor is nothing fancy, and perhaps a bit dated, but everything was totally clean and in good working order, and you have everything you'd need. We've had a really positive experience there.

The location of the Sonesta worked out well for my needs. It is an older property so it could use some TLC. Room service is only available once a week because it is a long term stay facility. They did provide fresh towels & trash removal. Positives: room was spacious with working kitchen, bed was comfortable & breakfast was good especially the coffee. Staff was personable & helpful!

The rooms are a nice size. The people that book here seem questionable but I witnessed nothing outwardly dangerous, not comfortable walking to the office after dark. Groups of people hanging out in the parking lot. My last day here I found fleas in my second floor room! I told staff about this and they said they would attend to the issue. :/

It was a wonderful place to stay. It was my ch larger than I expected.

There were people living in the room above use with children. The kids were constantly running and jumping. On the second night it was unbearable and I had to call the office twice because of this. The next day it was the same running and jumping I once again had to call the office. I was happy upon my leaving. Finally I will get some rest.

Rooms were comfortable and clean. We stayed in a 2 bed and 2 bathroom suite so was very easy to manage with 4 adults and 2 kids. Kitchen was stocked with pots and pans and a dishwasher so was able to make a few meals Breakfast has very limited options and the spread could be more elaborate for the price and the timings were also a little shorter Room service is non existent anything needed need to go to the front desk Room service is apparently only once a week and towels have to be refreshed personally. On day 2when we needed a refresh they didn’t even have enough to replace for 6 of us in my first try so ended up reusing them

We didn't even use the breakfast, which was basic, because we had our own kitchen. The only negative was we called to see if the coffeemaker in the room was a Keurig, which they said it was, as we like our own coffee, but do not believe them. It isn't, so we had to buy one, where if that is the worst that happens, all good! 👍

The place was spacious and staff very friendly. However there was a smell in the condo indicating someone had been smoking in it, and cigarette butts were out on the stairs and landing of my floor.

The room smelled musty, and we found pubic hair in the sheets and shower. There was also mold in the shower. The room seemed pretty outdated, but the real issue was its cleanliness — we ended up sleeping in our clothes on top of the covers because of the pubic hair in the bed. When we told staff about the issues, staff were friendly enough, but none of the issues were abated beyond staff vaguely saying they would inform housekeeping. This was a really disappointing stay, and it seems like other past visitors here have had similar issues with their stays.

Comfortable facility and well located. In 2 BR suite bathrooms too small and fixtures in particular way outdated. Also TV in common area malfunctioned and housekeeping opened door at 9:00AM on check out day with no knock. Finally door lock operated intermittently and required several attempts to open each time.

The staff was very nice and friendly but our room was not updated. Wasn't as clean as I'd hoped. The room we reserved wasn't ready for our first night. We had to change rooms after the first night. The breakfast was not good. We also "lost" some expensive airbuds. Could not find them anywhere. The toilet didn't function properly.

We like the space we had available in our rental. We didn’t like the floor inside the property. The carpet felt humid and the linoleum felt a bit sticky.

I enjoyed my stay. Suite was very comfortable. I believe in space and comfort. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Excellent.
