Staff was wonderful. Extremely helpful and we felt really taken care of. The room was great. Comfy bed. Amenities were fantastic. It was so nice to sit on rooftop and enjoy the view of the ocean and the breeze. We will def be back.

We were pleasantly greeted by housekeeping upon arrival who was extremely helpful with assisting with our check-in to our room. Room was clean, location is fantastic, and rooftop is great! Only reason why I didn’t rate as excellent is parking is a bit confusing…it was very hard to find designated parking spots for the hotel.

I stayed in the Serenity suite that was the first unit on the 1st floor. The space was cute and functional. The code to the door didn’t work upon check in but I was provided immediate assistance by phone to resolve this. I didn’t use the kitchen area but it’s nice to haven’t option (fridge, cups). The location was great! Close to the beach and you could walk everywhere. I chose street parking as some areas allow overnight parking but it’s a few blocks away. Just read the street signs carefully. Otherwise parking meters are free between 2am-10am

Although the square footage was a bit tight, the bed was very comfortable. We used the rooftop terrace two relax with friends before dinner. - great view. It is definitely on our return list. Thank you.

A sign on the desk says to call a number if you have questions about parking or check-in. No one picked up when I called, and no one responded to my text. About ten minutes later I got a call back and was told the parking was full and we could use their sister property to valet overnight. This was our only choice since you cannot park overnight on the streets or the public lot across from the hotel, so we ended up spending over $50 to park ($46 charge plus tip) at their sister hotel. Valet was nice though. Also, while the hotel patrons are mostly quiet, we were on the first floor and could hear people coming and going during the day and night.

The location is perfect. The rooms are small, but our intent was not to stay in the room. The room also only has an opaque window. The temperature, bed and linens were all fine. Room and bathroom were clean. We only saw staff one time, and they were friendly. The main attraction for this hotel is the location, which is unbeatable. Just a few steps from the boardwalk and beach and multiple walkable shops and restaurants. Be sure to try Brother's Burritos which is just a few doors down.

Not every room has an actual window/balcony access, also an FYI. I initially reserved the Serenity Room, which is on the ground floor and has a seating space, it was being repaired and I got the upgrade to the Sunset room, which has a balcony. The Coastal room does not even have a window. Every room is beautifully decorated. Cleanliness is okay.

The self check in process was a bit worrying initially as there was no way to phone the owner if needed with data only sims, however it was no problem. The staff particularly Carlos were exceptinally friendly & helpful. The bathroom is massive The only downside for us was a fairly small room & not really room to open & unpack or store our belongings over the 4 days we were there so we lived out the 2 bags on the floor/ under the bed, a longer stay might have been too hard! We did note however there are some larger rooms, so would try & obtain one of these another time. Overall a nice place & is in the middle of being renovated. The newly done rooms looked really good. The pictures shown on the internet for our room were very acurate. We enjoyed our stay and would return!

It smelled nice. No elevator..it's like a ghost hostel hotel. The location is great. The balcony was a makeshift area with dusty chairs. Absolutely terrible experience. Parking terrible. All around a terrible stay but great location. At checkout the only staff person we saw Carlos was great.

very very comfortable and luxurious for the price. Very comfortable bedding and wonderful bathrobe. There were several perks that I didn't get the chance to use, i.e. beach bikes and beach towels and chairs. Would definitely stay here again!

The room was small, but clean and neat. Clean, large bathroom with plenty of light coming through a translucent window. This is a good place to plop your head for the night, but there is no seating other than the bed. The rooftop area has plenty of seating and a great view.

Great little hotel in an amazing location. Be prepared to not see any staff, but they are very responsive by text. The free bikes were a lovely added bonus!

Rooms were cool Only that the curtains and blinds didn’t blackout the sun completely.

The sheets were dirty, had sand under the covers so lead to believe they were not washed with prior use. Hair that did not belong to me was on the shower floor. The pillows smelled. Hand towels appeared very old and were black, so we could not tell if they were clean to begin with. Shower head was spraying water from the pipe because it did not have a good seal.

The amenities were fantastic, bikes for use and rooftop lounge were great!

Looks nice online, however our room was dirty. Bathroom floor was dirty with tiny pieces of something black. There were toenail clippings around the bed! You can tell nobody swept for sure. The rooftop area would have been nice if it wasn't in total disarray & NONE of the fire pits had propane. Yes, we tried every single one of them! Beds were also uncomfortable. Definitely wouldn't return.

Very close to everything very nice bathroom They had only two parking spaces and you cannot park in any parking lot or streets because they all get cleaned at different times of the day so your car will be towed. My only option was to park at another hotel and it cost $49.

The location. The hotel was under DESTRUCTION and they did not say so when I booked it or warn me at all, even when I got here. The first morning, noises of the bedroom above me being renovated with drills and hammers woke me up at 7:54. At noon, the room next to me started to be demolished, and a hotel employee knocked on my door as if it were the police trying to take down the door (I had my "do not disturb" sign on as I needed to sleep after about a 36-hour flight). I asked who it was, and he did not answer. He knocked again, LOUDLY. I asked again who it was, and he replied he was coming in and started to open the door. I jumped from my bed and pushed the door closed, replying that he was not given permission to come in and to explain who he was. He said he was doing maintenance and needed to come in. I asked him to let me get dressed. I opened the door, and he said he needed a plumber in, but in two hours. When I left the room two hours later, he said the plumber did not need to come in, and he tried to bribe me with a bottle of wine and two free tacos as an apology for having barged into my room and woken me up at 7:54 AM with demolition noises. I booked this place with the sole intention of sleeping after 36 hours of flying halfway around the world before jumping into another 18-hour trip. The last thing I was able to do was sleep. And because I complained to Booking, even though I left my room while the maid was still working on other bedrooms and asked for my room to be cleaned, they did not. This is TERRIBLE customer service. A warning should be placed at booking time, letting guests know construction/demolition is going on and letting them know that noises start even before 8 AM (which is ridiculous). A sign was only put on the door (inside) after I complained.

Very comfortable bedding and the staff in the morning was so lovely. It was extremely hot in our room no matter what we did though and our view was odd with no natural lighting but overall I loved my experience.

The manager and staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was amazing. Our room was beautiful. They provided extra blankets and pillows in the dresser and complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. Location was perfect, right in the strand. We will definitely be booking the SW Beach Hotel every time we’re back in Hermosa.

The price was excellent. The staff was very nice and helpful. The card that has the wifi info should be placed in front of the tv and not in the kitchen. We put our food in the kitchen and didn’t find the wifi password until it didn’t even matter. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable there was a huge lump in the bed, since we were only staying for 1 night we didn’t bother complaining. Parking is absolutely horrible!!!!! Only metered parking. You can reserve a spot first come first serve only. Staff let us have complimentary parking because their computers were down which we highly appreciated. This place is good for if you’re on the beach and just want to have your stay last a little longer, or if you’re going to an event close by and just want somewhere near your event to stay.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed about not being able to access the rooftop area (during the times it was supposed to be accessible) as this was a huge factor on our decision to stay there. The worst part of the stay was the parking situation that made the hotel not so appealing. I parked in a lot directly in front of the hotel that had 3 different parking signs that made it confusing as to what the restrictions actually were. I parked in a stall that allowed the 12-hour parking, but woke up to a ticket since apparently all cars, including the ones permitted to park for up to 12 hours, are not allowed to park from 5am-6am. I realize this is not the hotel’s fault, but a notification in the room would have been nice to avoid the $48 ticket on top of the $80 it cost to park there. Overall I highly recommend the hotel but be cautious with the parking situation.

Carlos and the team were so hospitable. And great location, everything is walkable and on the water.

Our only problem was with the folks staying in the room above us - they were definitely enjoying their time in CA, although we knew when they got back from the bar at 1am...

Right off the beach. Very close to bars and restaurants. Would for sure stay there again. Nobody on staff. I had an issue with my check in and had to call someone offsite for help (help was delivered quickly) Parking not included and offsite overnight was expensive.

Was amazing , I came across it while looking for a get away. The staff is excellent, the room was very clean, it’s in the heart of everything in hermosa beach and walking distance away from most food places. I got the penthouse suite , the view of watching the sunset on the roof top was breathe taking. This place felt like home to be honestly, it was calm, quiet and very relaxing and the staff was truly exceptional. Thank you again SW !!!

Our room called Ocean Pearl was pretty small and had no windows. Did not have a microwave. Strangely, the bathroom was huge. Also had no refrigerator but did have two wine coolers that we used for a refrigerator. The bed, although okay, was actually a Murphy bed. I saw other rooms and they were bigger and better. The roof garden on top of the building was great. Very big with barbecues. In our entire time there we never saw anyone at the front desk although the phone was answered quickly the two times we called. The location was magnificent and the price was good. I imagine the other rooms were probably more expensive but might be worth it as ours really was a little too small. Because of the great location and price we would return.

Location is great, check in is very easy! Found the room to be ok only. Lotion provided in room was rancid/old and needed to be replaced. Shampoo wasn’t great either and I had to rewash my hair with product I bought nearby. I would recommend if you want an affordable option in the area and don’t care about “fancy”.

Nice area for sure would stay again different room The room I had was basic no windows unfortunately there was an odd mildew smell and for some reason annoying fruit flies. But it was ok for 1 night as fire pits up stairs couldn't get to enjoy perhaps next time.

Location was very convenient to beach, bars, restaurants etc. The rooms were clean, and the kitchen was small but efficient. A very good choice for a short-term stay.

This spot was in such a cute area! The place was small but had more than enough with a full kitchen. We had no issue with parking as we paid for a spot. It was right next to the hotel and we walked everywhere while we were there. It was a beautiful location. The rooftop views were breathtaking. It was clean and the staff were friendly and accommodating. They had bikes and beach equipment for free. It was a great experience!

Location is great. Room was clean and comfortable. Only dislikes are the room we had didn't have a window to outside, which wasn't too bad considering we were only there to sleep and shower. Parking can be tricky, but the hotel gave us a spot out back for $30/day. Would recommend booking several weeks or months out, the price was great with a lot of notice.

Wow wow wow. I wish I had the name of the gentleman who checked me in but he was the kindest soul. He went above and beyond. Room is beautiful, clean and super thoughtful. I think this bed is comfier than mine at home and that’s saying a lot. It felt like I got welcomed into their home. Highly recommend

If you want to be near Hermosa pier, beach, and the surrounding businesses, this is a good location. There’s limited access to staff on site but they communicate well by cell. A little noisy at night but the complimentary bike were very nice. I would stay here again.

This was our first time staying here. My husband and I have been to the Hermosa area several times over the past few years and this hotel was just awesome. We were very close to the beach. We absolutely loved our stay! This property is kept very clean and has everything available for use during your stay. The staff were amazing. We will be returning again soon.

Though it was pricey, I'm thankful that I had the option to pay $30 for a parking permit, as we were getting back to the room close to midnight after a show at the forum, and I wanted guaranteed parking. Reaching a person to ask about things like late check out is proving to be difficult, however. I really like having a door code instead of a key. The room is nicely decorated and the bathroom is huge! Loved the shower. Bed is ok--glad I was just sleeping one night, though! Overall very lovely stay!

The pro is this hotel is in walking distance to the beach, pier and everything in between. The conis because it’s so close to everything it can be loud. Other than that the place is clean and comfortable.

SW Beach Hotel was a welcomed surprise! Wonderful cottage feel as all rooms were decorated uniquely. Roof top terrace was so cool!! The staff was extremely helpful and allowed us to store our luggage in room while still preparing it. We said it many times while there "we're definitely coming back here!"

Nice little find in Hermosa, close to ocean, dining, felt very safe. Small space with well appointed furnishings, cool upper deck with amazing sunset views. Parking an issue, not unusual for Hermosa in the summer. Overall, nice stay!

Information provided on their website is incorrect. The website says to park down the street in a parking garage on level 3 and they would issue you a parking pass. That was false. I had asked how to obtain a parking pass and no one ever responded. I emailed and called multiple times. Had to pay for parking that was not discounted or provided. Next, our room was on the ground floor, ok that’s fine but all the “coded entry” doors were wide open and anyone could come and go. Our room did not have any soap in the shower but you could not contact anyone about it. Walls/ceilings are very thin and we unfortunately had people above us who were partying literally all night. We left at 9 am and they were still up and making noise. Again, there’s no one in the lobby or anyone you could contact about it. Our bathroom was a bit musty and run down. Our “balcony or patio” was an enclosed space with tables and chairs. Too many things wrong for the price that they are charging. Would not stay here again, especially with the lack of communication and help.

Convenient location, walkable, close to everything. Nice rooftop deck. Biggest con for me was you could hear guests walking up the stairs and walking around their room above my room. I was on the ground floor. This noise was pretty loud, too. Even woke me up a few times in the middle of the night. The rooms probably need better insulation. Overall, a good stay except for the noise.

Very close to all the action, beautiful and comfortable too! Loved having access to bikes and volleyballs. The upper hangout deck was super nice to hang with local family. The chairs and umbrella in the room was also nice to have for the beach.

Parking was terrible. Literally spent an hour trying to find parking. Then I couldn't pay for more than 3 hours at a time. Ended up getting a parking ticket.The bed was very uncomfortable. The room had a stove but the gas was shut off. They did end up fixing it though. The room itself was ok as far as looks and all. Overall I would not stay there again. I ended up leaving at 5 am due to the uncomfortable bed and parking situation.

What a gem! Our stay was fantastic. Steps from beach and dining. Very clean. Quiet and fantastic private rooftop for sunsets. We had smaller room but it was nice and perfect for long weekend. Beach towels and chairs provided in room which was great as out of towner! Very positive stay all around!

Clean room with stove and balcony. Easy access to room. No cold water to the shower, shower fan not working, sink didn't drain, drain plug wouldnt budge. Roof top was rented out but there were no signs to say private party so when I went on the roof I was followed around a bit aggressively and then told it was a private party. I thought it was just guests. Overall I would stay again, though not without a chat with the the front desk first.

It was basically fine, overpriced and nothing really special. Saying our room had an ocean view was ridiculous. You had to stand on the tiny balcony overlooking a busy public parking lot and crane your neck to see a sliver of ocean through the buildings. And that little balcony with doors directly into our room was also accessible to anybody in the building through another set of common doors off the adjacent hallway. Anyone could walk up to our glass doors. Amenities were as basic as could be, 2 coffee pods and some packets of sugar. The room didn’t get cleaned during our 2 night stay. The property was well located for our needs and had a cool rooftop, but I wouldn’t spend the $$ to stay there again.

The Seascape Room was super clean and exactly what I needed! Nice little kitchenette with a decent size refrigerator. While the Seascape Room doesn't have a window, it's the perfect room for solo travellers if you simply need a place to crash and trying to save money as it's the cheapest room you can reserve at the SW Beach Hotel.

It was really amazing location and style.

Some of the rooms are smaller european style so be sure to be aware of room size when choosing. We chose a larger suite and it was perfect for our weekend away. We spent most of our hotel time on the rooftop. It was a very well kept and nicely appointed boutique hotel. I would absolutely stay here again.

The area that the hotel was in was nice but the parking lot was a 5 minute walk. Shower was claustrophobic, microwave was dirty and sheet inside the duvet was all at the bottom, pulling the duvet onto the floor. No table in the living room to eat on, and the garbage bin was right next to the fridge.

This hotel is amazing! Very clean and very unique. Amazing roof top patio. Close to shopping and restaurants. The beack is a 30 second walk from the front door. Only negative for us was the bed- way to soft for our comfort. Overall would definately come back and highly recomend!

Very expensive and very impressive when we arrived we appreciate being let in early however room was on the parking lot no privacy and no view I requested top floor quiet but didn’t get it. We heard people all day and night walking by talking and laughing loud and loud music. Also no restaurant in hotel info here was wrong. Beautiful rooftop didn’t use was cold.

Something they don’t tell you there is no parking. The room was basic . They charge you $40 for parking if you are lucky to get the one parking they have. You have to check in online. Staff doesn’t seem to want to be there . Very disappointed

Very nice looking hotel, walkable to the beach and pier, lots of options for food and drinks nearby. Room was a little small but very cozy and bathroom was very nice. My only feedback would be for the instructions for parking to be a little more clear. We arrived after the front desk was closed and didn’t know where to park. We learned the very next day for $40 a night you can park at the back of the hotel.

It was a great spot close to the beach and everything. The staff was nice to move my bags into my room for early check in. The only thing that I found hard was finding someone at the front desk if I had questions. There was a phone number to call though. Otherwise smooth check in and check out.

Due to medical issues, I had to cancel my reservation within 15 hours before my stay. They charged my 100% of the room cost!! I will never recommend an unsympathetic, callous hotel such as this one and would advise if you can find an alternate property in the area, please choose it. I called the property and explained the sitaution and they told me it was all about money. Their excuse was they are a small property and therefore need all the income that they can get. No exceptions! Truly sad and pathetic. Avoid this property if at all possible.

Clean, comfortable, super convenient - walk everywhere. Close enough to everything you need. Would stay again and recommend. Parking can be challenging, but we bought the 'day pass' for a free in/out garage space just a couple of walking blocks away.

The two women that checked us in and cleaned are room was Amazing! I’m so thankful for them.

The hotel is in a perfect location right off the Pier in the heart of Hermosa Beach. The room is cute, cozy and comfortable. The bed was not great it was worn so a little lumpy and indented. Other than that everything else was perfect. I know there was a housekeeping service although we did not use it. The Beach Heaven suite is like a 1 bedroom studio apt so small but worked for us. The patio on the bottom floor is not really usable because if you sit down you can see over the wall. Other than that the place and location is great. There was a weeding going on so we did not get to use the balcony but we did go up there the night we arrived and it was very nice. This hotel is contactless so make sure to use the online check in to receive a code to get into your room.

We had an excellent stay and ideal location for our event that took place at the pier. Parking was mot easy though. It was surprisingly quiet considering there are people walking and drinking late in the streets near by. We’ll come again for sure!

We loved our stay at this beautiful and amazing location property. Highlights were definitely being very close to the beach and great shops and restaurants. Also far enough from the parties that it wasn’t too loud or crazy. Facilities themselves were very clean, very modern and felt very luxurious. Loved the rooftop deck and the staff were so accommodating and lovely. Only small down parts were that we could hear the people above us quite a bit and parking isn’t super closed but not too bad. Will definitely be back

Hotel is super modern with a cozy boutique room. Staff are fantastic and owner is really nice! The queen bed was comfy and bathrooms are amazing! Rooftop is beautiful and you can see the beach and enjoy a sunset. They have bike rental too. Easy walk to the beach and multiple coffee shops, restaurants and bars. Definitely recommend staying here! We will re-book on our next trip to LA.

Overnight parking situation was unclear

They did their absolute best to get me into my room earlier than the regular check in time knowing that I was totally pooped from travel. Really appreciate this. Very friendly staff-felt welcome and valued. Unit was clean. Location super awesome-walking distance to shops, dining and a hop skip from the beach.

Exit hotel and turn left, boom you’re at the beach! Roof top is chill and amazing! We had a great stay! You will have to fend for parking which is limited. I just paid the fee of 30 bucks a night for parking which was convenient.

Room was clean and had everything I needed. Steps form the beach and to restaurants. Great roof top area!

Our bed was very low to the ground, so, it you have any issues getting up from a squating position, this might not be for you. You are truly in a bedroom, it’s small, but modern and clean. Location is incredible, with the beach, dining, lounging, shopping, and nightlife all within a very short walk.

My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary in LA and we had a wonderful stay. The owner, manager and housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and the kitchenette was very useful. Access to the beach was perfect and the rooftop space was fire! Great stay and would highly recommend

Checkin was super easy, hotel staff was amazing!

The hotel and the room itself were very nice, but I was in a suite that was on the ground floor at the front entrance. The room backed up to a restaurant and I could hear the music they were playing in the restaurant until nearly midnight. The guests staying in the room above me were up until nearly 4am and I was woken up to them walking around for hours. There's zero sound proofing and you can hear the noise from every angle around you. On top of that, there was some sort of electrical issue where the light on the fan kept turning on in the middle of the night. I'd be woken up to full light in the room. And finally, the AC unit would not work. I will not be staying there again.

Everything was amazing! Roof top view is stunning! Communicating is impeccable. Bars, restaurants, beach all a few steps,*Parking $30 per night if available.

Also, the staff opened the door WITHOUT KNOCKING in the morning while we were still inside the unit, prior to 11am, so that was somewhat shicking

Loved this property. Loved the self checkin and the door code. Didn’t see any staff or another guest the entire 24 hours. But loved the room and the balcony and the roof. There are too many eating options in the area for the full kitchen and no good parking options. Had to pay meter at up to $2.50/h

Great hotel for those that don’t need a grand lobby and a list of amenities. Could not have a better location as Pier Ave is just 1 block over and the Comedy and Magic Club is across the street. The best bonus was having a rooftop deck that had comfy cushions and endless views of the ocean…and never encountered another sole up there.

The spot couldn’t be much better. The rooftop is huge and uncrowded and the sunsets are great! Each room is cool in its own way. I love what they’ve done with the place! Only issue was the thin walls. You really can hear folks around you, but the rest of the upside definitely outweighed this small inconvenience.

The property was clean and cozy. Check-in and out could not have been easier. The area was beautiful, relaxing, and had lots to do. The only drawback is having to find street parking, but it ended up working out alright.

If you’re not a tech person this place might not be for you. Check-in is all via online. No keys for room it’s a code once you check in.

I really enjoyed this stay. The rooftop was beautiful as well. The beds were amazing! My biggest regret was not looking at the bed brand and to see if there was a mattress topper. I slept so good!
