There is the sea sprite there is a second crap building .. this is false advertising to sell one hotel and put in adjacent Second hotel building is horrible

The suite was very well appointed. Bright and big enough for a family of 5 and a small dog. We loved our stay here and the staff very accommodating. Breakfast is bagels and coffee.

The hotel was recently renovated and the room was perfect. I highly recommend staying here. The small restaurant and bar on the strand was also wonderful.

Directly at the beach close to center. The staff is unprofessional and doesn’t know how to talk to customers. The cleaning was unacceptable. Trash not emptied, dirty sponges left next to our toothbrushes, horrible smell in the sink not fixed but covered up by blocking the sink with water (i couldn’t believe it) wasn’t fixed in 3 days staying there. No towels in the room at arrival. Room 9 is horrific and unacceptable at foot level of the restaurant guests and directly exposed to all the noise. Restaurant is central in the hotel making the view useless since opening the blinds exposes you to the restaurant guests which look directly into your room.. Noise all day from staff at restaurant plus music.. The hotel staff themself doesn’t keep the quiet hours making noise until 11:30pm cleaning the kitchen and yelling, whistling and slamming gates… At 06:00AM moving tables and cleaning outside making noise.. The building itself is old so if somebody lives above you will hear every single thing.. In our case a heavily overweight person wich on top was up almost all night making us wait for the ceiling to come down.. When i asked them to be quiet they were shocked telling me they just normally walked from A to B. I would never stay in this hotel again. Management incapable of directing staff and addressing issues if the receptionist ever passed them on!!

The room was clean and fresh and the staff was extremely helpful. If you bring a car, there’s a daily valet fee as there is no parking. Location is perfect! Right on the strand with easy beach access and within walking distance to Manhattan Beach to the north and Redondo Beach to the south - all from the paved strand. Lots of restaurants nearby. Hotel restaurant is great, too. Super close and an easy drive to LAX. The hotel rooms surround the restaurant so there’s quite a bit of noise even in the middle of the night. Not sure if it was cleaning or maintenance. Overall, we had a fantastic time!

Great view right on the strand, hoppin bar and restaurant with good food, friendly staff. Had a couple of issues that took a couple of days for the staff to resolve. Bathroom filthy and probably not cleaned in a couple of years. Vanity and sink in the room with a separate enclosed toilet and shower. Difficult for two people.

The staff and views were amazing. The rooms were spacious however the room floors were not mopped so it was sandy. There was stains on the sheets.

We loved the stay!

Housekeeping wasn't very thorough and had to ask a few times for them to come. Beach amenities were scarce, but grateful for anything they could give us. Breakfast was just ok..no fresh fruit, and the coffee wasn't hot. However, the coffee in the room was great!

The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. We came around 1am in the rain and was assisted by the staff outside with parking in the lot down the street and he helped us take our bags out of our vehicle and up the stairs to our room. The room was extremely clean and well maintained and the view was awesome. We got to open the blinds and have breakfast looking at the beach. The only complaint would be that their drains need to be flushed due to bacteria making it smell like sewage (I work for a water company). We thought it was coming from the water, but I checked the shower and no smell, and checked the sink drain and it was coming from there.

Very cute place, location is perferct, the restaurant has really good food, my view of the ocean is sideways but it was fine. I would go back here.

The room I was assigned did not match the description of what I booked: King bed with full ocean view. As this was New Year's eve the hotel was full. I was given a discount on the room rate. Staff was apologetic.

Had an issue with some outlets not working in the room but maintenance was very quick to arrive and add an extension cord for the microwave and espresso maker. Discovered afterwards that the outlet by the vanity mirror was also not working. We didn't feel like making another maintenance call. But this made using hair appliances difficult as this was the only mirror in the suite. Also, it would have been nice to have a door or some partition between the bedroom and living area for a bit more added privacy. The Surfer Girl restaurant offered pleasant and quicker service than expected. Food was awesome. Very beautiful ambiance. We're definitely coming back to stay!

Everything started well. Around 8 PM our TV started resetting like there was an issue. Around 9 p.m. decided to go to sleep. I guess there were power issues the air conditioner/heater would make beeping noises every 3 to 5 minutes for about 30 seconds. I went to front desk and there were five other couples complaining about power to their room. Etc. Waited for Manager to show 20 minutes and left my number for them to text me. They never resolved the issue until two in the morning. Was not a good night sleep I guess SCE was working in the alley finally after talking to someone in the morning, they try to blame it on them I couldn’t believe I paid 400 bucks for one nights day and they didn’t care about making things right. The front desk lady took my number and email and said she would pass it to the manager. The power went out at 9 AM in the morning so we had no heat just to warm it up a little. Couldn’t even find valet to get my key.

Pros: The property is on the beach. It has a bar and restaurant. Rooms were clean. They Had beach chairs and bikes to borrow. However, it is a very noisy place. We were there on the weekend. All rooms enter from outside. Our room was over the patio bar area and the music was loud and you could hear conversations and lots of people walking up and down steps all hours. The walkway lights were bright and shined through the room blinds all night. Rooms were dark. No lamps or overhead lights in main area. Our last night an alarm and flashing emergency lights went off outside at 1:30AM and continued until morning. There is not a regular coffee pot, no ironing board but there was a steamer and the blow dryer was terrible.

Do NOT book through Hotels.com — they are deceptive, dismissive, and completely unhelpful when their listings turn out to be false. I booked a room through Hotels.com (Reservation #73230688635600) that explicitly stated “sleeps 3.” Based on that, I included one additional guest beyond the two adults listed. When we arrived, the room had only one bed and no rollaway, sofa bed, or cot — meaning it could not possibly sleep three as advertised. This is false advertising and a breach of contract. Hotels.com misrepresented the property, and when I reached out for help, they refused to issue even a partial refund. I spent hours on the phone with their so-called customer service, only to be met with indifference, runarounds, and empty apologies. No resolution, no accountability — nothing but wasted time and frustration. Hotels.com offered absolutely nothing to fix their mistake, even though they admitted the listing said it “sleeps 3.” They clearly do not vet the accuracy of the properties they promote, and once they have your money, they simply don’t care. This is not just bad service — it’s deceptive and an unethical business practice. I will be reporting them for misleading advertising under the Federal Trade Commission Act and state consumer protection laws. The room was very nice with a kitchen area. We were right on The Strand and we walked to several of the other beaches along the way. The Pier was very close, as well I look o a

- Room could have been cleaner, particularily the floor - Our Refrigerator needed repair, it had condensation on it that dripped on the floor during our stay. We reported it but it didn't get fixed - They need to dim the outdoor lights in the overhead lights at night. Room does not get remotely dark with them on fully. - Restaurant is a bit loud on the weekends if trying to sleep. - When using the upstairs patio to relax, we felt like second class citizens as the wait staff wanted paying patrons there. I would definitely return, the above items did not interfere with our stay that much, but if they had been better this place would be that much more of a gem.

Yes beach view was obstructed. We were at the back corner of hotel by a noisy street. We love this hotel and were disappointed with the location we were placed. I called both hotels.com and the hotel front desk to voice our disappointment .

Where are the balconies and patios? Only in the pictures did I see them... If they were not on the beach, I am sure the reviews would be different. I booked the family suite via Expedia and upon arrival was charged fees not listed in the confirmation, and was fooled by the pictures and accomdations as what was suppose to be two queen beds and bunk beds, plus a sep sitting area is actually one queen bed within 1ft of bunk beds and a sofa that turns into a queen.... eliminating both the 2nd queen bed and seperate sitting area. I am not sure where these balconies or patios are but they aren't visable anywhere apart from the photos. I went to the front desk to show that what was booked did not match the room provided and if there was anything larger available...not only did they tell me that there was nothing else avail, but upon looking up availability on MY own phone I saw that they did have another room and I had to show the front desk to prove that there was.We were able to move into a "double family room with partial ocean view"....partial ocean view is a joke considering that you have to walk outside to see the ocean. The staff was not friendly nor helpful considering they clearly wanted nothing more than to end their shift and not provide any service upon arrival. Expedia and the actual hotel website do not match and I am very unhappy with the entire experience.

During our recent trip, we stayed at an exceptional hotel that truly exceeded our expectations. The spacious room comfortably accommodated our family, featuring modern decor, a plush king-sized bed, a large flat-screen TV, and a balcony overlooking the ocean. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring our needs were always met. The hotel’s amenities, including a swimming pool, spa, and on-site restaurant, made our stay even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Hermosa Beach area for a relaxing and memorable experience.

Great location right on beach. Booked accessible room, for 2 x 3 night stays at beginning and end of our trip, queried lift and assured there was 1 to get my husband to 1st floor. Messaged Hotel to ask if I should amend/upgrade to ground floor. No response. Lift not working and hoped it would be amended by our second booking, told it had never really worked .Managed stairs but not easily, please do not take bookings if you cannot meet accessibility needs! Also, noisy room (room 3) told it was something to do with kitchens!! Not worth the price if you require any assistance but Ab Fab if you are able bodied but please DO NOT report to have accessible rooms unless you only offer ground floor

STAFF the best of the best

We've stayed here for many years. The refurbishment is nice and the rooms are clean. Staff at the hotel are lovely, but the management is not great. Very much get the feeling they don't care about repeat business. Right on the beach which is great and next to a ton of shops and restaurants. Parking is pricey so keep that in mind as it's not part of your booking bill.

Staff was polite, especially housekeeping and valet. Housekeeping was readily available and professional as well as valet. The view from the room was very nice. The rooms were very well kept and clean. They had a very nice large patio area out front but it was used as a restaurant and bar and tended to be quite noisy towards the evening as customers came in and out. So the patio wasn’t really available to the guests staying at the hotel unless they were dining or drinking. There were some rooms available with balconies and if I were to stay again I would definitely get a room with a balcony. Also, they did close the restaurant at 10pm and enforced quiet time after that. All in all a very nice stay.

We had a partial ocean view room on the 2nd floor and the view was great. Our balcony faced the alley entrance to the beach so we had an unobstructed view of everything. The room was simple but clean and the location can’t be beat. We didn’t try the food at the hotel restaurant but sat outside in the bar area and it was relaxing. It is definitely one of the nicest beachfront hotels on that strip. Valet service was prompt. We didn’t request any special services but the front desk staff were friendly at check in. Would recommend.

Check your bill folks. Several wrong charges. Have tried to reach desk and property manager 4 times to get resolved. Used phone, text, and email. Deposit not refunded as of 11 days after checkout. The property is convenient to Strand, but it is very loud, and items in the room didn't work. Can't recommend this spot at the pricepoint they are attempting to be at.

However this hotel still feels like a cheap motel (stayed there 10 y ago when it was a motel) and is not worth paying $2,000 for 4 nights. The nice front desk lady was ready to leave when I arrived past 11pm, and did her best in helping me with the luggage (while one only young man stayed at the main door). The nice lady managed finding me a couple of (dirty, with black hair!) mini fleece blankets; later I came out and asked for a "real" blanket, and the man at the reception was rather unpleasant. The heater did not work (and at the beach, at night, it can be cold); the next day, nobody in the hotel knew how to stop the ceiling fan - so decided to cut short my stay and leave.

The views were beautiful and the room was excellent.

The property was beautiful however the staff weren’t friendly. We walk by smile and say good morning and they’ll just walk past us with straight silent faces. I was given a “drink on us” card and when I went to the restaurant area to claim the free drink she looked at me with a very confused look and asked if I was a guest at the hotel. They have other ethnicities working there which were pretty friendly but the majority were Caucasian and seem to discriminate us heavily.

Absolutely amazing! Not sure I would pay extra for the “balcony” again. There was no furniture to sit in so we didn’t even go out in it. I also gave it one less star for how bright the room was at night. No curtains and just shutters with bright LED lights in all night blaring into our room. If you can deal with the brightness or at least pack a sleep mask, I highly recommend. Beautiful little property, amazing guest service, and a perfect location.

Maybe the reservation warned about major construction on property but I didn’t see it. The entire area where people can usually relax off the beach was unavailable and torn up, which was my entire reason for staying there.

Hotel is clean and location is perfect. Staff was nice but housekeeping did not clean the room when they were supposed to. They are strict on late checkouts and will charge extra even if it’s just for an hour.

We like that it doesn’t have a big hotel chain feel. It’s a smaller property, right on the beach, and feels like home. It is in a very popular area. So if you open your windows, you will hear people walking around, talking & laughing. We like that it has a small coffee maker, microwave & mini fridge…most hotels don’t anymore. I think the only thing I would like different is that there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom, and the lighting is pretty, but not great for doing your makeup & hair. It’s not a deal breaker for me though. We love it!

This is a great little gem of a hotel right in the middle of the action in Hermosa Beach! Right on the beach, perfect for people watching, bar hopping, strolling the Strand, and soaking up the sun. Great staff. Terrific, clean and spacious rooms.

Front desk girl I believe her name was Loreana? Seemed like she was the there 24 hrs a day. Always smiling and had great personality.

This room overlooks volleyball courts with a LOT of noise throughout the day. Kitchenette had no plates or utensils, only 2 paper cups. On check out they said they keep plates in reception.

We had to wait until almost 4 pm to check in even staff knew we arrive since 1 pm. Room was okay. All the drains do not drain unless manually done. Lastly one side of bed is sunken in and hard sleep

Our balcony vie of the ocean was fantastic. We loved having the strand to walk and scooter on. Restaurants were just steps away.

The people working there were terrific and very helpful! While the room was beautifully decorated and furnished, I felt it could have been cleaner. There was mildew around the shower and on the shower curtain, we had a hand towel with a yellow stain on it, the TV wasn’t working and there was a used coffee pod left in the coffee maker. Overall I would still highly recommend this hotel!!! Just need to do a few small things in the cleaning department .

This hotel is charming. It is right on the beach and a 5 minute walk to tons of restuarants and pubs. The lounge chairs around the property make it very easy to sit outside and watch the sea and people. It really couldn't be better located. The bed was comfy, but the pillows weren't great for me. I really liked the room overall, but the floor was a bit sandy (with the ocean outside, I imagine it is nearly impossible to keep thhe sand out. The hotel is a tad overpriced in my opinion, but that seems to be the case everywhere. Good place overall.

Wonderful stay at the Sea Sprite. You can’t beat the beautiful accommodations in the newly remodeled rooms and the view is priceless. Staff and atmosphere was amazing and will definitely stay here again.

We loved the property but not 75.00 for our puppy. I find the rate excessive , and just for that reason we will not return. Also, $25.00 a night for our van, we were looking at an unexpected &100.00 per night! Nor was the dog charge notified to Expedia!

I love the hotel. It was renovated so it was all clean and brand new. Walking distance from the beach plus we had a beautiful view of the ocean. The parking was a bit of trouble but they did have parking with a fee, which is to be expected.

No parking, no elevators, no quiet, no amenities, and not even a real ocean view, considering there's an all-night lit-up party space in between your room and the ocean - which will get your attention whether you want it to or not. For the price I expected the customary hospitality that is the standard pretty much everywhere else. Not here. This place is for bums who also like spending a lot for very little. If that sounds like you, by all means - enjoy your stay at the Sea Sprite!

This is a darling hotel with a nice mix of old world charm and updated details. The rooms are really nice and the views are breathtaking! When we checked in, the gentleman at the desk seemed very overwhelmed, and our room wasn’t ready at check-in time, but we were able to take advantage of the restaurants nearby while we waited. When we returned, the woman on duty was very friendly and apologized for the wait. I got the impression that there had been a few complaints. Hard to complain when you’ve got this view! We loved the Sea Sprite and would definitely come back! I’m excited for the renovations they are doing!!

Place is newly renovated and super clean. Location is optimal to the pier restaurants and the beach is right out front. Highly recommend staying here.

Great views from balcony. Light clean rooms with ample storage and amenities. Happy hour pricing from their in house market a bonus. Easy walk to all that is Hermosa Beach.
