Hotel Hermosa

Love this site but would have loved a coffee maker in the room instead of having to purchase more expensive brew from the lobby.

I thought the property itself was fine. The location to Pier Avenue and other local attractions/things to do was great. My only issue was that there wasn’t much else to the place - meaning that there wasn’t coffee or breakfast available on some days, and there wasn’t a bar or lounge at least to hang out in after a long day. Those little extras would have been nice.

What you is see is what you get. Exceeded expectations.

The hotel itself was nice When you’re already paying for a room and most guests are arriving in a car, you should not take advantage and charge $30/night for parking. If you advertise “Breakfast in the morning and with a coffee bar” you need find a way to deliver. They had neither and made no effort to make it happen. Just excuses. The worst part was not having my room cleaned and bed made when I was gone from 8:00-9:30pm and returning to my messy unmade bed. Just an apology with no effort to fix anything. This left a bad taste in my mouth.

The room with city views are loud and the cleanliness is not good for the price.

I have no complaints but do have a suggestion which is to add a light fixture over the bathroom vanity.

Great views from the common area patio. Perfect spot to enjoy breakfast alfresco. Great location convenient to Hermosa Beach Pier and Pier Ave. a 15 min walk away. Very comfortable bed and lots of closet/dresser storage. Grocery store across the street and also doughnut shop. Covered garage parking for a fee. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel Hermosa is a fantastic hotel located right in the heart of the city, so super easy to get around. The hotel staff is really friendly and the beds are comfy! The backyard patio and outdoor space has a fabulous view and is a nice spot to sit in the sun!

Staff was very helpful. I have never had to pay for parking when staying at a hotel so That was a surprise I gave the receptionist a hard time about it which I later apologized to her. She was amazing never responded rudely back to me and excepted my apology with grace and class. Will be staying there again in future

Lobby was uniquely decorated with surfer vibe and cozy fire table that was inviting for an impromptu dinner. Outdoor patio was spacious with ample furniture for lounging. Room was clean and inviting for a restful sleep and hot shower before moving along to my next destination.

Modern with on site parking. Within quick Uber of pier area and minutes drive to beaches. Grocery store and coffee right across the street. Slightly worn shows high volume. Could be a bit cleaner smells like old property

Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly. Parking costs $35 per day for their small lot. The pool and hot tub was underwhelming. There is no restaurant or bar but there is a Starbucks type counter with limited food and coffee that’s opened 6am-10ish. Other than that the views are beautiful and hotel is so cool.

The location and parking was great, but that is about it. We arrived at 6pm. No one was there, even though it was not after hours. The building is an old apartment made into rentals, the room smelled musty, non working AC was replaced by dirty floor fans. Uncomfortable pillows. Basically a motel.

Nice spot on pch about a 10-15 walk to the beach. The hotel is right by the greenway walking path and has a nice outdoor patio with a beautiful ocean view.

Nice place however as an early riser there wasn't anywhere I could get a coffee before 7am. They do have in room machines but I don't care for that kind. Other than that everything was fine.

Unfortunately the room I was given was on the corner and level with a very busy intersection and across from the ice machine.

Lighting is very poor even in the bathroom. It's hard to see to shave. They need reading lights at the bed and table. The stand that supports the bed sticks out from the mattress and my wife cut her leg on it because it was hard to see at night.

The staff is so nice, the only change we noticed this time is you have to request housekeeping which we weren't informed of when checking in. We mostly needed clean towels which i went to the front desk for. The rest was great!

Parking was easy. Staff was ok. No one was a stand out. The hotel was AMAZING - clean, great location, decent view of the ocean. The hot tub was a smidge noiser than I'd have liked, but will DEFINITELY stay again.

I lucked upon this property while sitting out at Hermosa Beach, enjoying my Mother’s Day. My only request was to drive over to the beach from Vegas and have solo time. As my day was winding down, I knew i didn’t want to drive back to Vegas that nite so I came to Expedia and looked up properties near me. Once i booked, my husband came to pick me up and i told him we were staying the nite a mile away. Check in was so smooth and we had an amazing nite’s sleep. We didn’t hear the noise that others have talked about, once we lock in, we don’t hear anything..lol. We decided that the next time we visit, this will be our spot to stay bc it’s affordable and on the beach and i love that part the most! Thank you for the accommodations, we’ll return soon!

This hotel is nice. However it is located on a busy street (PCH) with traffic late into night. Also there was a lot of noise in the hotel (doors slamming).

Partial ocean view is nice some rooms have balconys but step out only not a big balcony. Very clean, beds and rooms are nice, decor is great, their outside patio that has pool and corn hole is nice, but never understood where you get the pool balls or corn hole bags, they need to make the hours of the patio clear. But would stay again very convenient location

Very good experience with Hermosa hotel. Clean rooms, nice staff, 30 minutes walk to Hermosa beach. Bike rental nearby, so you can enjoy LA. I was a little surprised with brrakfast - no typical american breakfast, more like stuff to go. Small portions, a bit expensive. Coffee was the best choice. Breakfast could be beefier for the price.

I loved the location & ease of parking. The room was cute. The outside area is nice & enjoyed sitting by the mid-mod fireplace to have breakfast.

Hot tub does not open till 10am. Check- out is at 11am. Do the math. In my experience they should be available at 6am-7am at the latest for early risers.

Love this hotel. It is a very reasonably priced option in the area. Rooms are spacious and clean. Very comfortable bedding. The pool area is small and oddly located, so I would recommend this hotel for folks who are more excited about the beach nearby.

The front desk staff was absolutely fantastic, they had a satisfying answer for every question. I have already started recommending the Hotel Hermosa to friends and co-workers. Thank you very much for a terrific stay.

We reported it to the front desk right away, and to their credit, they did move us to another room. The second room was generally fine, though it had a noticeable odor that made it less comfortable. Early that evening ,we received a phone alert that the water would be shut off at 6 a.m. Traveling with a child, this was a major inconvenience and ultimately the deciding factor for us to leave rather than continue our stay. Unfortunately, the front desk was not helpful when we raised these concerns. We were told no manager would be available until Sunday, and despite the issues and our early departure, we were still charged for the stay. Overall, this experience was disappointing and frustrating, especially given the serious sanitation issues, potential health risks, and lack of responsive customer service.

I’m fortunate to have stayed here a couple of times. I’ve enjoyed both my experiences & would stay here again in the future. It’s often i use hotels as an option. This is a very solid choice.

Now as far as the bed is concerned HOTEL HERMOSA YOU HAVE TO INVEST IN BETTER BEDS MY BED SUCKED WAY TOO SOFT AND WHEN TWO PEOPLE LAY IN IT YOU ROLL TO THE MIDDLE OF THE BED NO GOOD SO I'VE NOT HAD A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP IN THREE DAYS. For the price point I expected a much better bed. I found myself sleeping on the the siiting area by the bathroom.

Gorgeous ocean view from our balcony and decent location if you can drive to Hermosa or Manhattan Beaches. Beds were comfy. We had 3 in the room (reserved that) but only 2 towels, 2 coffee cups, etc. Bath was always steamy as no fan and door closed itself. Outside doors were very heavy and LOUD when close so it was a bit noisy. Extra fee parking was good and convenient.

I enjoyed my 2 week stay at Hotel Hermosa. I loved the outdoor terrace, hot tub and pool. The only amenity missing was a gym but the weather is always perfect so I didn’t miss it much. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk to the beach and 25 minute walk to the Hermosa Beach pier.

Very nice property and close to popular areas. But they charge their guests for parking and other amenities.

Location of the hotel is great for the South Bay of LA, experience. The rooms aren’t big or fancy, but with an area which begs to be explored and enjoyed, that’s not too important. I think I would have rated this property five stars if there was more transparency around the parking charge. The worst part of any travel is when you feel as though you’re being nickel & dime’d. $35 a night for a vehicle. Just say it up front. Everything else, top notch.

Decent location but the place is a little odd in design and the walls are paper thin. I got a 3rd story room and my bedroom was in a loft accessed by a spiral staircase. Bathroom downstairs, bed up stairs and the staircase is tight and steep. Also had a party going on next to me until 3am. Called downstairs twice starting at 11pm and they did nothing about it.

300 per night stay , parking 35 dollars a night plus 25$ per person breakfast, plus water in room is 5 dollars . Pricey . I’ll be definitely staying in Redondo suites next time for exact same price . Decent stay .

Be very careful when you have your pre authorisation amount over . They over charged me $77 when I arrived and said it was declined when it wasn’t . They also charge me another full night when I was 15 mins late to depart . Very poor hospitality. Now I know why the place was empty.

The staff was really helpful and great. Everything I needed they accommodated me with. The $135 dollar charge for parking is ridiculous. Plenty of open spaces to park. I’ll need to find elsewhere for parking. That’s a horrible catch for this hotel for its customers but will move on to another hotel next time.

My wife and I had a great experience at Hotel Hermosa. The property is loaded with great features and entertainment. Our room was a suite with an ocean view. I felt like the price point was great, especially for the location. My only gripe would be paying for overnight parking but given the area, I guess that makes sense.

This was great option for our stay in Hermosa Beach. The hotel has a boutique. Feel a nice lounge area and outside area across the street. There’s a great coffee shop. We would stay there again.

We stay for one night and it was wonderful

It was a nice place, great market across the street from it. Cool historic building and tastefully renovated. The king loft room had nice views of the water. After a long flight from Australia the check in time of 4 pm was not great. They offered a $47 early check in which we didn’t take them up on as every hotel in LA we have ever stayed in has let us check in straight away if not around 12 pm. We finally got in around 3pm. I don’t recommend this place to Aussie travelers for that reason. We will use the big box hotels again next time for their earlier check in times. Other than that it was fine, although I did get accosted by another guest at the pool and accused of stealing his tequila!? I had just woken from my jet lag nap and was the only other person there so I was like wtf? He found it in his shopping cart and apologized offering me a shot! Funny and scary at the same time, that’s LA for ya…

We had a beautiful ocean view from our balcony and really enjoyed the hot tub as well.

My biggest complaint was the lack of response from hotel staff when my husband and I complained about the loud noises from either construction in the room adjacent or from the garage. It was so loud we could not hear out TV. This occurred for hours starting at 6PM to 8PM. We called the front desk and she heard the loud noise and agreed it was too loud but when to investigate and never returned. No explanation, no apology, no solution or options. It was so disturbing my husband and I left our room (although already in PJs) and walked on the Pier to get away from the noise. I understand things happen but the way the staff handled it was completely unacceptable.

Room was clean, comfortable and in a great location. I would stay again, the rate was really good and really no complaints.

We ask for a late check out form both rooms that we have. But it was a little confuse. Nobody give as a right answer, always ask to come back later. At the end just make our plans worse.

No hot tub like they showed online and broken door with half mini pillows. It’s like a dumpy motel that lies about there amenities.

Everything was fine, but my understanding was 159.00 per room and it seems one night was charged at 175.00 The parking, 30.00 fee, was a surprise not included at time of booking. I am sure I will be staying this weekend , but overall it was good. Front desk was great.

My only concern centred around public access to the hotel in the evenings. As a female travelling alone, I don’t know if I would stay at that hotel again given the fact that anyone can walk off the street and come into the hotel.. I say this because on the Saturday night of my stay I saw two men walk across the street from the east side of PCH walk directly into the hotel and one of them followed me up the stairs when I noticed he was following up me up the stairs. I turned around and went back down the stairs to which he followed me again. There was no one at the front desk but thankfully my son was with me and stayed with me until this gentleman went into the elevator when he saw that I was standing with my son. It was a pretty scary moment and I would strongly suggest getting some type of Key card system that allows only Hotel guest access onto the property after 9 pm. If that can’t be done, someone should always be at the front desk 24 seven and someone with a security background. Other than that the property is super cute!

We had a great time and enjoyed walking to the beach neighborhood for coffee every morning. The walls between rooms were thin so we could hear the conversations of our neighbors, but staff was very helpful when it got to be too loud. Overall it was a really nice stay

It was my daughters’ and I first trip to California from Texas. We were nervous as we had never been here before. The hotel was easily accessible, parking was easy to find and get to and plenty of options, front desk was fantastic and smooth, and the hotel itself was wonderful! Our room was spotless clean, the bed was super comfortable, no strange smells and everything worked great. The pool is heated and my girls were so excited about that, and the hot tub felt great. We loved the outdoor area with the cornhole, as well. The hotel itself was extremely quiet, we never had a noise complaint whatsoever. The area was calm compared to LA and easy to get around. Blocks from the beach and easy to get to/park at! The beach itself was very nice and clean, not crowded at all. We will be staying at this hotel every time we come back to LA!

Clean, quiet, beautiful view of the Ocean with a friendly and helpful staff. Short mile or so walk to Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach in a safe neighborhood. Very convenient parking garage under the hotel that seems safe and secure. I travel to SoCal every month or so and always stay at the Hotel Hermosa. I get a room with fillable whirlpool-tub and relax my back after a long day on the road. Then a walk to one of the many excellent restaurants on the way to the beach. Always enjoy watching the sunset from the expansive outdoor patio complete with lounging chairs and two pool tables. Definately recommend the smoothies and coffee from the small cafe in the lobby. Can’t say enough good things about this Hotel. Location and vibe are just right.

The hotel was had a facelift. My recommendation is that they add some lighting and maybe remove the dark carpeting. Also change the filters in the air conditioner would be helpful. Alejandra was very helpful and sweet facilitating our check in. Location was great for our stay since the family we were visiting lives just 1 block down. But it’s a ways to the beach and local spots.

I reserved a room with the beach view and was given a view of the street instead. Traffic was loud. Room was clean but dark and hot. A/C wasn't working well. We couldn't draw the blinds without traffic looking into the room.

Room was clean but it’s an old building so it could use some work. For example, paint was peeling in the bathroom. Also, the walls are thin, you can hear every time a door closes in the hallway.

I had a long drive and it was my birthday and I am a gold member and they still only gave me a musty moldy room overlooking the busy PCH with loud traffic. Parking is $30 a night. No free breakfast, not even coffee in the lobby. The rooms are old and banged up and the bathroom door always stays shut so you have to prop it open. The parking garage is two stories and under the hotel so you could have 5 stories from your car to your room. They do provide these little carts to lug your stuff but they are not what a bellhop uses and do not carry much. The worst is the tubs must have been recently glazed and they are EXTREMELY slippery! I was standing with both feet on the tub but when I leaned my head back the rush of water took me right off my feet and I had a horrible fall. I still can’t sit down and my spine and neck hurt. They need to prewarn every single guest of how slippery their tubs are. There are better options in the area.

I love this hotel. It’s the only hotel I will stay at when visiting Hermosa Beach for business. Staff is great. Comfortable, fun, and clean room. Great balcony with views.

I asked for a late checkout. 12:00 would be $35. Parking $30 while nowhere near the beach. Staff did their job but didn’t engage in any way whatsoever. Rooms are decent and the courtyard is nice. I’ve stayed there many times. But not sure if I will again.

Balcony was dirty. There were dirt clumps in the pool. The hot water was out for the entire hotel for two of the four days during my stay. After several people complained, they offered a $25 credit compensation - Unacceptable. Poor customer service. Will not return.

The power went out for like 12 hours it was terrible

We loved the spiral staircase in our room. The courtyard had pool tables and Cornhole. Fun!!

I was there for 3 nights. On two of the mornings there was no hot water.

There were no towels at the pool, there really wasn't staff to help with anything. It was safe and a good location but otherwise just average.

The spiral staircase was definitely a cool feature and added to the room’s character, but it’s worth noting that the metal steps are a bit tricky. It’s easy to bump your head if you’re not careful. Just something to be mindful of. The hotel itself had a relaxed, beachy atmosphere, and the location is close to the Hermosa Beach Pier, restaurants and shops. We enjoyed that the location was very walkable. Staff were friendly and check-in was smooth.

Wish it was closer to the beach. Rooms small but we liked the loft room. 😉

Rooms are cozy but clean. We have a view of the ocean on the 2nd floor. They should have more options for breakfast.

First off it was my wife’s bday….we got to the hotel and no one was at the front desk, we waited for a while…. Checked in and the room smelt like mold… they gave us another room and it was smaller…. Not cool! They said they were booked. Then good luck finding the pool… it’s hidden in the back with no signs… just not what I expected.

The rooms and common areas are beautifully decorated. Everything is clean, bright and comfortable. Bonus that it’s a smaller hotel so it’s not a long walk to your car or the pool. The beach is not as close as I thought, but it’s also not terribly far & parking is relatively easy to find. The location is great, near shops and restaurants and even the airport. I’d definitely stay again.

No great in communication regarding deposit. Also after spending so much money, parking should be complimentary for the person booking the room.

The hotel does not look like the pictures I booked for a room with a balcony and didn’t get it and they said they have breakfast but conviently they didn’t have it for the weekend I was booked there. Did not enjoy my stay

Housekeeping was phenomenal. They really did great. The checkin and check out experiences left a lot to be desired. No warm greeting, no information about the property, not even a thank you. A good value overall.

The Hotel had a homey feel about it. Great Location lots of food choices nearby.

Property is clean and quiet- loved that. Room wasn’t big but had a nice bed, microwave and mini fridge. I will say the underground parking is challenging if you are not driving a compact vehicle. Parking our VW Atlas was challenging at night when we arrived and after the concert we attended.

The beds were too soft and we both woke with sore backs. The remote for the tv and the USB charging port on the night stand didn’t work. The check in process was slow and they seemed understaffed. On a positive note, the room was clean and a good value for the price.

Super cute place, comfy beds, the air conditioning is quite loud, unfortunately, and the rooms are on the small side that I love the decor. Jacuzzi was nice and the patio has a great ocean view.

Stayed here 4 days visiting our son. We would recommend this place to anyone. Love the onsite cafe and coffee. Staff was kind and friendly. Views were beautiful.

Check in was really nice and easy. There were some restaurants within walking distance. Easy to catch an Uber. Walking to the hermosa beach pier was about a 30 minute walk or a $12 uber ride. Rooms were clean and modernized with some cool touches. The rooftop deck thing was pretty awesome!

the room i booked was not the room i got. i booked a 2 story suite. it was supposed to have a hot tub. it was supposed to have a king bed upstairs in the loft then a room downstairs with a couch and fold out bed. when i got there they said my room had been sold. instead i got a standard room with 2 queen beds. no hot tub, no upstairs downstairs. not even a suite.

Clean and comfortable

I truly enjoyed my stay last week. It was quiet and relaxing. The loft suite was very spacious and very well decorated. We had a beauitful view of the Pacific Ocean from our balcony. I will most likely stay at Hotel Hermosa the next time I visit Los Angeles.

We stayed here for two nights. We absolutely loved it! It was very convenient for Uber and DoorDashing (no long waits). Really cool layout of the hotel where you have a beautiful view of the ocean and pier if you’re on the second floor.

First time in California,

Got checked into our room walked in first thing you smell is sweaty feet in the room. I booked for good view and got an intersection view first floor. They charged me $209 because the cleaning lady said it was dirty we only used the restroom after 7 hour car drive. And sat on the bed to find a new hotel took only 30 minutes then we left for a better hotel. Just disappointed I got charged $209 for using the restroom.

Cool and hip spot. Eclectic and fun. Not as close to beach as we thought, but still a great location.

Love the area but will never stay at this hotel again…..too much wrong to list and management couldn’t have cared less when we brought it to their attention.

The room had fleas and smelled like mildew, and at the end of our state they charged us for parking and told us at the desk at check-in that we were only supposed to pay for overnight stay for a guest. The lady at checkout was rude.

I like the fact that it was in plain view of the ocean what I didn’t like is that we can’t smoke even in the third floor balconies a designated area would be nice

The front desk was very nice, the jacuzzi tube was not operational in the king suite. I was very disappointed.

Parking was horrible they charge per day and there’s not enough had to park in the street one of the nights and hope I did t get towed also very little parking in the street and hotel wanted to charge for parking even though I didn’t get to leave my vehicle there !

Bathrooms needs a facelift and can easily hear the other guest above you. The stumping was very loud in the morning.

View was beautiful, but not as close to the ocean as I would like. It's a mile away. Clean room. Bed was comfortable and overall we had a quiet night. I recommend you go out for breakfast. The café 's breakfast burrito, was likely reheated from frozen, so bad in texture and not worth the price. Parking cost $22 per night.

Cafe area opened late and service was extremely slow. No water in the lobby or napkins for dining. Pool and hot tub could use some cleaning.

Very modern hotel and facilities - with a pool, hot tub, garden w/ pool tables and other games on request, on-site cafe that serves breakfast/brunch as well as very decent parking prices ($22/night). Location is great, 15 min walk to Hermosa beach and drive-able distance to any other beach along The Strand. Rooms were great, perfect size for 3 adults. We had an issue with a neighbouring guest on night one and the staff were excellent in assisting us with switching rooms and also upgrading our view to the very nice courtyard at no extra cost. Wouldn’t hesitate to book here again when visiting.

Loved the decor and the beds are incredibly comfortable. My only complaint is that the walls are paper thin.
