the room was pretty clean, the parking was okay. the location was really nice though. there’s a 7 eleven right behind the hotel and just in general there was a lot of places nearby to eat. overall really nice i would definitely go back to hayward and come back to this hotel. there was no problems at all.

Nice inn manager and the room was decently clean. The AC needed to be cleaned/fixed but the inn manager did offer to switch our rooms if it was too hot. We had to open the window and since it’s next to a busy street, it can be quite loud.

The owner was on property and was very attentive to any needs I had. The room was clean and the location was ideal for my needs. It fulfilled all of my needs and was very convenient. The parking was a little tight.

I am writing this to warn anyone considering staying at this hotel. Our stay was a nightmare and, frankly, life-threatening. ​Severe Electric Shock: While trying to use the light switch/outlet in the bathroom, I suffered a massive electric shock. I was unable to pull my finger away for about 5 seconds (muscle paralysis). This is a sign of extremely faulty wiring and a failure of the safety breakers. ​Flooding and Exposed Wiring: When we entered the room, the entire floor was wet. The refrigerator was leaking water everywhere. Even worse, there were multiple cables lying directly in the puddles of water. ​Damaged Cables under the Sink: The cables under the bathroom sink were cracked and exposed. If someone stands in the water and touches the faucet, they could be electrocuted. I am writing this to warn anyone considering staying at this hotel. As the picture show, they definitely provided some upgrades in the rooms. While these were not exactly like putting lipstick on a pig, they were superficial at best. The air conditioner/heating unit was old and loud. There were places on the walls that looked worn and scratched. The bed frame itself was a creaky, metal frame reminiscent of something you might find in your grandparents basement.

I decided not to stay at Discovery Inn because I felt misled by the pictures advertised online, the room didn’t reflect what I saw when I booked the room.

Love the big bathtub

The room had been remodeled and had nice amenities. The area is close to downtown Hayward and BART. Staff was excellent. I didn't like the smell of the room (the cleaner/disinfectant was super strong), and the room was noisy. Also, the parking is very tight.

. The room was so clean and bright! the floors were very clean and the room smelled really good when we walked in . IT SMELLED SO FRESH AND CLEAN.!!!!! The only thing that was a bummer is that there was only one towel per person. when I called and asked for 3 more for the next day , he seemed annoyed and only agreed to give us two more. the first towels were larger more soft and fluffy the next were the small thin towels. I didn't want to steal them I just wanted dry towels for the next day. the 3 for hair/ body and one for the hubby

The staff is EXTREMELY RUUUUUUDE….! The manager is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL…. The plumbing is horrible the WiFi is even worse it cuts off every 10 mins. The soda machine is out of order. Everything here is old and they have pincherbugs.

Room was clean, so were the linens. Parking is very tight. Good food options near by and close to BART and the freeway. Rooms are pretty worn and so is the exterior. We weren't able to get clean towels during our three night stay.

Everything was nice and theres plenty to do with downtown hayward right up the street and theres a 711 next door and a dunkin donuts across the street be careful crossing the street as drivers are oftern excessively speeding in an already fast 40mph zone that sees heavy traffic during commute hours

I am blind and they accommodate my need to have a downstairs unit. I really appreciate it

How clean the room was. There was a great TV in the room nice and big. The AC heating unit was phenomenal. The blanket and top sheet work smaller than the bed size so it made it uncomfortable to sleep. And the walls are so thin you can't even put your television on 25 before somebody starts saying you're too loud maybe they need to rearrange. In the parking situation was pretty bad they did not have enough parking for each unit. Didn't like that there was no phone in the room.

it was sufficient for a short stay and the cheapest in the area. parts of the room looked brand new and other parts had holes, stains, and other wear. i slept well, wifi worked, and the tv selection was ok.

It’s somewhat convenient transportation wise. The parking lot was extremely squishy. Hard for cars to get around. The insolation of sound was poor (the walking/ stepping sounds from the upstairs was bothering). The facility was old and somewhat not functioning normally (the sink had to be drained manually underneath). No ion and board for clothes. .. etc. Equipped poorer than most of the same price hotels.

Coffee maker and no coffee. Worst part was I requested upstairs room But is not get it. Of course, the person above was up all night with people over stomping on the ceiling until 4:30am when I called front desk cause I could not sleep.

Super friendly staff. The property is very clean. Large rooms with comfortable beds that are covered in nice bedding. There's a mini fridge, microwave. Wi-Fi and parking are free. I'm so glad to have found this gem.

Overall the room was decent. For the price it was actually a great deal. The bed was quite comfortable. All the sheets, bedding, and towels were clean. The climate controls work great in my room. There's a lot of good food around the area. My refrigerator did not work. I was only there for one night so no need to make a fuss. Also when I went in my room there was Saran wrap around my smoke detector. They should really check that. The floor was a little sticky So I felt compelled not to walk barefoot. Whoever's mopping needs to go behind with a dry mop because there were water spots all over the bathroom floor. Also the lights that are next to the bed the bulbs need to be changed and They were really dusty. Whoever's doing the housekeeping needs to be retrained. I used to run a motel.

Check-in was a jankedy. Signed a blank keypad and received no receipt or other means of knowing what I have been charged. The room was decently furnished and with clean bedding and linens. The wall heater smelled like human urine when first turned, but, seemed to lessen as it ran longer. The television does not work. There was a 10 inch place between the commode and tub where the paint and wall covering had rotted away, the tissue holder was rusted and corroded, the sink drain has no pop-up mechanism making it difficult to remove the dirty water. The lights are on motion sensor switches and go out after about 30 seconds making it difficult to shave, etc. Parking is horrendous and not sufficient for the property. You must squeeze the front of your vehicle into shrubs cut out to fit against, and scratch your car. Housekeeping stole my basket of snacks and drinks. No desk service available at night or early morning.

The shower curtain is wonky, so water goes into the floor. The beds weren’t very comfortable. Our stay was below average, hence the two stars. But the worker was very nice. Water pressure in the shower was great. At first glance, the room looks pretty nice. There were no bed bugs! That’s a huge plus. I probably wouldn’t stay here again to be honest. I’d spend a little more to stay somewhere a little nicer.

I was in the Bay for a week-long business trip and Discovery Inn fit my needs. It was a clean, secure place to sleep and shower, friendly and attentive staff. I didn't spend much more time than getting sleep and staying clean but I was happy with it. The microwave and small fridge were helpful as well. They reached out very shortly after my checkout that I had left a personal item behind. Because they were so prompt, I wasn't far away and was able to quickly double back and pick up my belongings. Thanks!

Generally get a great room here. Some of the rooms could use some care to repair faucets, fans, soap trays. Some rooms smell like smoke but running the room and bathroom fan for 10 minutes is enough to make it go away.

When I got there, there was no parking. Room was dirty and smelled like cigarettes. Shower had hair on the walls. Floors were stained and dirty. The upstairs people were so noisy and the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything. Will not be coming back here ever!

Location is excellent, stayed two separate times and the room is clean and comfortable. Jay and the staff are good people they make you feel like family. I selected this spot for my stay during the week when I want to rest from the commute.

The place is quite old, and the room had an odd smell. The furniture, like the chair, was clearly second-hand. My biggest concern was that the heater/AC wasn’t working — it was chilly, and the AC was basically just a fan. The strange odor in the room made things even more uncomfortable.

I booked this hotel for two nights as I had a medical visit to Stanford. I have an energy limiting disability, and spent three days, minus my hospital visit sleeping in the room. The room was very comfortable. The cleanliness exceeded my expectations! The bed was very comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water. The shower pressure was fantastic, and the toiletries were mid-range. The facilities were a bit dated. There were tears in the wall paper, holes in the wall, peeling on the doors, and the cover to the A/C unit was broken. These cosmetic issues were minor, and did not compare to the comfort and cleanliness of the room. The walls are a bit thin, and I could hear the people in the next room on occasion (they had a screaming child), but the hum of the A/C helped mask the ambient noise. Overall, this Inn is a treasure for the price. Very pleased with my stay, and I will stay here again.

The only bad issue i experienced was working the shower and adjusting the water temperature. It was so difficult that it probably took me almost 10 minutes to adjust to a comfortable temperature.

The inn was perfect for a short break. It’s clean and pleasant to stay. The only reason I comment is to have a kettle and some coffee/ tea service. But overall I would rate it as excellent.

I wish I had asked the gentleman's name in the office because he was super friendly and helpful. This is a basic hotel that has comfortable beds and lots of room. It is within walking distance of grocery stores, restaurants and convince stores. The parking can be tight if fully booked though. This place is safe and worth a look. I will stay here again when I need to get a room.

The owner of this motel was very welcoming, very nice, and takes a lot of pride in his work and his property. Even though the area is a little Sketch, for the price the room was newly renovated and felt very comfortable/clean.
