In addition, the shower/tub didn’t have warm water, it was either cold or hot but once you tried to make the water warm, it would default to hot water If your ever find yourself needing a hotel and the others are sold out, sleep in your car

The room was clean with plenty of towels. Whatever issues i brought to the staff’s attention was take care of promptly. Breakfast was great with plenty of options. There was ample parking. I saw a fox in the parking lot one night when we returned to the hotel. He ran int the talk grass behind the hotel.

The room was very very old and not in good repair. Furniture had gauges out of it and fabric headboards were stained and old looking. Bedskirts were pulled and falling apart. Bed linens were clean but old and threadbare. For almost $200 a night I expect MUCH better!!!! I did not see any bed bugs or insects but given the state of this property it would not surprise me at all!

Location was very convenient as I had my own transportation. Did not get chance to interact with anyone working there so that reflects in the review rating selections fi different questions. Stayed only for one night. Checked in at 9:30pm and was out in the morning at 7:30am. Did not have time to sit and enjoy the breakfast as I was late to a meeting. Grabbed coffee, 2 boiled eggs and fruit to eat on the way to work as I was late. Had a good sleep. Bathrooms need more attention on fixing the faucets and cleanliness. Overall it was ok but Bathrooms definitely need improvement

Hilton/Hampton should pull the franchise on this place. You book a room there expecting the quality of a Hampton Inn and you get a run down dump.

Worst Hampton Inn ever. This place similar to Motel 6. Filthy. Looks like blood stains on window shade that has the roll up by chain, the fabric one wasn't even attached. TV was set for Central Standard time. Room smelled. No light by work table. Furniture horrible. Poor lighting in bathroom. Rug frayed terribly. Pillows useless.

The gym has two pieces of equipment and that’s it. The AC didn’t actually work but luckily that’s what we do for a living. The staff was ugh there we will say that. The room was clean but it stunk and the bed was like sleeping on a piece of wood. The tv didn’t work and the elevator was questionable.

Hampton Inn should pull its brand. The hotel is in terrible run down condition. Every piece of furniture is scarred and faded, carpets dirty and worn, elevator broken and the other with the control panel in shamble. Tiles cracked long in need of repair. The comforter only has a one sided cover, the shower dripped non stop. This hotel hurts the Hampton Inn and Hilton brand.

Terrible experience. The room was dirty when we arrived, and the bed sheets clearly looked like they had not been changed. Cleanliness was a major issue. Breakfast was extremely poor, with very limited options and low quality. On top of that, they charged me for three rooms instead of one, even though I had canceled the extra rooms on time through Booking. The staff was not helpful and the overall service was very disappointing. The location was also not good. The night before, other guests were complaining about bugs in their rooms, which made the situation even worse. Overall, this was a very unpleasant stay and I would not recommend this hotel. We did not end up staying. We checked into our room and there were hairs on the bed. Overall the room was not very clean. The door to the bathroom has no lock and is a sliding door which was not idea. We asked to be switched to a different room due to the bed having several hairs. We were then not able to get into the room due to the key card not working. We had two men help us and we ending up receiving a different key card that did not work. We then received another key card to the room next door which did not work. The key cards miraculously started working after trying it for several minutes which was strange since nothing had changed. It was a very strange experience and our room was still not very clean. You could see build up on the headboard and arms of the couch. Overall the entire hotel was not very clean. We did not feel comfortable or safe staying.

The room was unbearably musty smelling, we had to keep the a/c at a low setting at all times to lessen the stench. The door was heavy & slammed constantly, plus the entry space (narrow) made coming and going, especially with luggage and the heavy door, unnecessarily difficult. Husband sustained a bruise on his lower arm at one point. Hallway was overly warm & humid. This town is where my grown kids live so we visit at least annually - we would never ever stay again

Front desk stated Expedia doubled booked and that rooms were booked a day before we arrived. On Expedia app it stated there were King rooms available. We had just booked the room 7 hrs prior to check in. They stated they had contacted Expedia for them to get in contact with us about overbooking of rooms. We never received any email or contact from anyone. The hotel would not adjust our bill. The room was small and dark due to limited lighting. I really liked my stay, I came for the last home game at JMU and found my room to be very clean, the linens were fresh and clean, and the bathroom was super nice with a bathtub and shower. Breakfast this morning was delicious, I had a cheese omelette with sausage and potatoes and hot coffee and orange juice, and two tiny waffles - they also have cereal and oatmeal and toast and muffins and yogurt, etc. Really good value - my stay was around $100 when all the other hotels in Harrisonburg seem to be raising their rates to $300 or $400 per night to capitalize on game day crowd.

Average room/hotel with above average prices. Room was clean enough. Carpet needs replacing. Only received towels one time during a 6 day stay. Room was small. Bathroom had a sliding barn style door that was shared with the closet. Very "cozy" with the bathroom that had no fan or real door only being about 2 ft from the bed. Breakfast was decent. They have coffee available all day which was nice. They had complementary cookies from time to time. Beautiful view from the room was a positive. Room keys stopped working twice over the stay. Elevators were periodically out. Would only stay here again if there were no other options due to the price.

Friendly staff. The cons: Obviously remodeled property needs detail attention. Broken tiles, etc. Maid missed dirty towels and linen. Stained carpet b side the bed. Bathtub drained very slowly and just looked nasty. Bed was not soft and comfy like all other Hamptons. They give you room service, which includes exchanging towels, etc, every other days. On my second day there were two used, dirty towels that were very obvious, that weren’t touched. I had a small cut on my face the first night which bled a little on the pillow. After the second night when they made the bed and changed towels, they did make the bed, except they did not use clean linens. The same stained pillowcase was left right there front and center, bloodstains and all. My stay was four nights, so that means that the bloodstained pillowcase was there for four nights as well because they never changed the linens until after I was gone to prepare for next guest. I did a search of the area to look for hotels, the other two Hampton Inn’s that showed up in Harrisburg were more expensive than this one and now I know why. do yourself a favor and avoid this property.

The hotel definitely has some age on it, but it was overall nice and clean. The pool was great. Staff was very accommodating. The area it is in is beautiful. Definitely would come back if I end up needing to stay in Harrisonburg again.

Our stay was very comfortable! The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were doing some repairs to a few places in the walls on the first floor and replacing some of the wallpaper. We were unable to hear any of the work in our room. And it was completely finished before we checked out. I was very impressed!!!

The people were great. But the place is run down. The gym smelled badly of mold. The pool was murky. The elevator only worked if you pressed the Up button, even if you’re going down. I wouldn’t recommend staying here until this location maintains the hotel better.

We had a great time, after relocating to a different hotel location because the elevator was not working and nom rooms available on lower floors to accommodate my disability of not being able to walk up-and-down the steps The customer service was excellent.

Property is very old and dated. Elevator did not work and obviously had not for some time. I was not informed of this before my stay and it made it difficult with small children. The bed linens had nasty stains. Would not stay at this location again. There are plenty of up to date hotels in the area.

We checked in late on 7/20, and were told upon check in that the elevators were out of service. Huge inconvenience, as we have a young toddler and baby with a travel crib, cooler for baby’s milk, etc. We asked if they had anything available on the first floor, and were told they did not. We asked about a discount, and the man checking us in said we could bring up the issue with Expedia. They’d contact the hotel and confirm and get us a discounted rate. Unfortunately, that was untrue. Apparently hotel rep stated they sent out emails to guests telling them of the elevator outage (untrue) and it is on their website (it was not, because the issue had JUST STARTED!). Not only did we have to trek up 4 flights of stairs multiple times with a toddler and baby and all of their necessities, the room also smelt horrible and unclean. I will not be staying at another Hampton Inn in my future travels.

We chose this hotel specifically for the pool and even called to verify before booking that the pool would be open. The pool didn’t open until 4pm on our last day! The pool was still dirty and disappointing. The rooms were extremely out of date and not cleaned the standard I would have liked. Ice machine was out of order, we ran out of toilet paper and had to ask for more(we received 1 roll), and I asked for towels that we never received. Very disappointed with the start of our summer vacations.

This is the worst Hampton Inn that I've ever stayed at. Many of the people checking in (myself included) had to switch rooms at least once to find a suitable room. This property is in dire need of a renovation!!! Just do 20 rooms at a time. Rooms dirty; smelled of dog; furniture scratched, broken worn out; carpets super gross & often wet (?); only one elevator working...

Front desk staff was friendly and checked us in quickly. The room we stayed in think was 412 had a smell like a musty smell when we arrived. I think the sliding barn door on the bathroom and closet was weird. Just my opinion.

The hotel is run down and needs updating. The bed was old and creaky, it sounded like a piece of plywood was under the mattress. One of the elevators was out of service for the next 3 months as posted on its door. The gal at the front desk who checked us in didn’t greet us or smile, quite unfriendly. We won’t be back there again.

I chose this hotel for its proximity to JMU. AVOID IT! We stayed for a night- just needed somewhere to rest and shower before heading to the university for an event that was very early the next day. So long story short son and I get about 7 hours of sleep and get up to shower. SHOWER HEAD WAS BROKEN. Like not working not even a trickle. To the front desk clerks credit he opened up the room next door so we could at least shower. However, they didn’t have maintenance around at 6:40 am to address or fix the issue. My takeaway test all faucets to make sure they work and there’s hot water- no matter how exhausted I am.

I needed a place to stay mid-trip and selected Hampton Inn based on my previous experiences. But, this particular property needs updating. It does not feel or look like an HHonors hotel. Having said that staff was very nice.
