The property is well kept, it’s a reasonable distance from everywhere we went so 10/10 from me. Staff was helpful and nice.

The staff were friendly. Room was clean and spacious. Location was superb! The complimentary breakfast was close to nothing. I arrived at 8am, and there was no waffle mix left. There were only a few bagels, lots of yogurt. No other hot food other than the waffles. Coffee was gone.

Only thing I didn't like by quality in. The front desk employee not saying, welcome to quality in or see you again. And also I noticed breakfast served area is not a big space.for other people to sit and eat. I had to take food to my room and eat.

Place was nice and close to area we needed to go to. We went to breakfast 1 1/2 hours prior to breakfast being closed. Ran out of pancake batter and people were asking for more. I asked if there would be more pancake batter was told "probably not because I would have to make it". I thought that was a little strange. She did make more because I saw people eating pancakes.

The continental breakfast was PERFECT!!! For what we paid, it was PERFECT!!! We plan on going back as soon as we can! Thank you very much!

Easy check in. Parking is free and easy. Pet friendly with a fee advertised as $45 on hotels.com but actually $54,( was taxed too?) Room is outdated. Smells moldy inside the room. Wifi is bad and if you are an At&t subscriber, signal is bad too.

Clean but older hotel. The beds were clean and comfortable which is all that mattered to us. The mini fridge don’t work and the microwave was hard to get to come on which was just a minor inconvenience since we brought dinner from home to heat up. Basic continental breakfast of waffles, coffee, fruit, bagels, yogurt. Easy location to get around from if you want to go visit the coast.

It was at a good location. No pool was very disappointing. No pool. The Internet was terrible & made it impossible to watch t.v.

The room was clean. It was very well equipped - ironing board, fridge, closet, etc. The desk chair had seen better days.

The room was clean. The breakfast was really great, but the front of the property needed some work. it may not be your fault maybe Caltrans, but it was bumpy and potholes.

It was quiet and location was good I’ve machine was old and rusty and rooms could be updated .

Front office person when we checked in was pleasant and she was there another night that was responsive to our question. Room cleaned daily. More protein at bfst, hard cooked eggs or sausage, considering the cost of the hotel. Noisy people walking above us. Breakfast area tables not cleaned often enough; sticky from syrup and no one at the front desk. The bathroom light switch is on the outside of the room, very unhandy. Could not tell how cold the refrigerator was or if it was even on.

Very loud because put us in room by hwy 1 and another guest above us that was walking loud till late at night and there was plenty of empty rooms that they didn’t need to do that and we were therefore for a week the pictures of property wasn’t anything like the property pictures were way way nicer..The housecleaners were very nice but guest service not very friendly but I continental breakfast was good had good choices

I thought I had asked for a ground level room. when I arrived they did not have one but gave me the disabled room which turned out great.

It’s just ok. The property is pretty run down, peeling wall paper, sticky worn carpet, that old hotel smell is certainly creeping in and they try to mask it with overwhelmingly strongly scented cleaning products . The bedding, bathroom floor and vanity area was clean. Staff was alive and capable of doing their job, but that was it.

got in late, and there was a room available. parking was great. Inconvenient with the breakfast. Was at the hotel next door. My service dog in training, I was charged and legally the facility cannot charge.

You can’t really hear the TV they have it set up at a certain volume. That is ridiculous. They had old furniture that the leather was appealing off of the chairs needs a little updated and cleanliness.

This was an ok hotel. Only stayed here because it was dog friendly and not too expensive. It’s a little outdated which could be why it’s not expensive. Also, I got charged an additional $55 dollar fee for something I have no idea why. I will have to call and find out why I was charged. I paid the $45 pet fee.

Room clean and spacious. Breakfast was a good value, considering the cost for the room. Staff was pleasant. Complex showing its age, entry doors are creeky, exterior clean up, and paint is needed. Rooms could use some updating. That doesn't mean I won't stay here again.

Had to wait 30 minutes for the front desk girl to show up, then she was not very friendly. The AC fan made a weird noise, had to turn it off. There was no iron in the room and the hair dryer had wires sticking out of it. The morning desk clerk was no friendlier than the night one. Not a good stay at all.

Small container of yogurt was the only protein available for the included breakfast.

Too pet friendly. I did not know there would be so many pets. I stayed in room 104. I could not leave the door open without smelling animal urine.

The breakfast was quite poor, and the bed mattress was very used and sunken, which made my back hurt. For the price they charge, the value doesn’t really match the condition of the hotel. Also, since the property is close to the street, you can hear vehicle noise at night, so it’s not as quiet as expected. I had asked for a room farther from the road but was given one close to it.

It is a very convenient location, close to the beach and restaurants. My daughter saw bugs in the bathroom but it is okay since this hotel is a so close to nature 😜. Staffs are friendly and breakfast is good 👍

It was clean and not expensive. They have clean bathrooms and sheets. Breakfast is in the lobby. I love half moon bay. I frequent often from the valley. We stayed here last minute. It was convenient. And close to everything downtown.I can recommend staying here!

Our room completely smelled of chemicals almost like new paint or something. It was overbearing and we were told we could not change rooms. We tried to error it out which did not work and we could not leave the windows open due to being so close to the highway and hearing cars go by. It was terrible

It was clean, easy check in, bed was so comfortable and sheets were soft and great. The ladies at the front desk were nice. The location was great. Coffee and cream and the little touches of shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and lotion, also make up remover pad. Also a blow dryer. I will be back. For the price it was so comfortable and honestly perfect. This spot deserves more than a 3 star for sure. Close to the beach we watched the sunset. I loved it! 10 star we rented 2 rooms and all 4 of us were so happy. I loved everything about this place to be honest I have no complaints

Great location for our activities in the area Our Shower/tub drain was broken so we had to wedge a disposable fork under it so the water didn’t build up. Breakfast was lack-luster, no protein like eggs, bacon or sausage. So it’s hard to eat when you have dietary restrictions. There’s waffles, oatmeal, bagels, cereal and yogurt. Not much for a person who needs high protein and can’t eat yogurt.

Room was dirty fridge didn’t work we woke up to all of our ice cream melted, and the food was gross and it was not even in the spot it was supposed to be in. The drain didn’t work. just overall that very clean.

This hotel is the on highway 1 - Some people may be bothered by the sound of cars at night so make sure to ask for a room in the back if that is the case - traffic dies down by 9 ish though when all the tourists head home - bed was comfortable and room was clean - a nice beach hotel for the money - I had a dog and the pet rate is a nightly charge - unfortunately that is a bummer -

The only thing lacking was the Wi-fi was so weak I couldn't get my e-mails on either my phone or laptop and Half Moon Bay didn't give me enough bars on the phone to pull in the e-mails either

Clean room, comfy bed. On ground floor it was noisy until upstairs room settled. And cleaners started vacuuming overhead just before 9 am. Otherwise a good stay. No elevator so accessible folks must put up with noise from upstairs. Breakfast choices decent, coffee at breakfast not good.

Toliets were so loud it woke me up multiple times in the middle of the night. Lots of patrons roaming with animals in the middle of the night. Need some TLC in the rooms.

They have enough parking, but an RV parked in the back taking up 4 spaces, so I had to park in front of the other building away from my room. Breakfast was great, limited options, but it's better than nothing. I'll always come back to this place when I visit Half Moon Bay!

Great location for hiking on the pacific coast trail. 2 miles to the harbor, near state beaches. Low frills stay.

Clean, economic, properly well maintained and managed. Very lose to city with small CA-1 port town atmosphere. Less than a mile from state beaches. A frw minutes north there are fishing charters and restaurants out of pillar point.

But not before we were both nauseated and feeling wird in our head/thinking. We woke with sore throats, Headaches and felt like an elephant was sitting on our chests by the next AM. We had that taste and smell of the room lingering with us for a good 12 hrs. or more. I have a lot of concern for our health after and especially the effects it had on my guest traveling w me. She's still in the hospital. My sore throat, cough and HA I think may be a little better today, but will see after I feel better from my Asthma Attack. We checked her in for us to know if we had been poisoned or what by the fumes. She has good Ins. I figured whatever she was DX with would tell me what I should worry about. She was short of breath and having problems walking very far without sitting down and just progressively got worse from that exposure on. It was scary, inconvenient and affected our entire trip and what we had planned to do etc. I have a lot I could say about how it negatively affected our plans and since we've been home.

Our stay here was pleasant and cozy. We all really enjoyed our room and everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great especially for our kids. The best part for me was the coziness or the hotel and room. The smell of eucalyptus outside was amazing! We’re already planning for our next stay. (Also, staff was friendly, prompt, and communicated well. I got a call from the office after we left letting me know they found my necklace and that they’d mail it to me. That sealed the deal for us loving our experience. I thought I had lost my necklace.)

We checked out early and want a refund for the remaining two nights. It was extremely loud due to highway noise, the guest above us and A construction company who rented most of the rooms which woke us up at 6am. The room definitely needed updating, as well. That being said, the staff was great and tried to accommodate us as best they could.

I stayed here and at a few other Half Moon Bay hotels while I was doing shows all weekends. This Quality Inn was definitely my favorite! With a tub, microwave and fridge in every room and tables and chairs outside to sit and relax. And the waffle breakfast was yummy, too!

Quality Inn Half Moon Bay was conveniently located to numerous points of interest in the area. The room was clean and orderly and the breakfast area clean and well stocked with many selections. Billing was straight forward with now hidden fees. Parking was free on site and readily available.

Our room was clean and comfortable. Slept like a baby in the bed! We had our toy poodle with us and he feoliked like he was at home! The only thing needed is an outdoor spot to take doggies to do their business. And have a trash can there to toss the filled poop bags...

Our room was clean and comfortable. Slept like a baby in the bed! We had our toy poodle with us and he feoliked like he was at home! The only thing needed is an outdoor spot to take doggies to do their business. And have a trash can there to toss the filled poop bags...

This was our second time staying here and things felt a little more rundown in the rooms than they did when we were last there in October 2024. But for as little we were in the hotel room it was perfectly fine.

The place i think the roof or whatever it is - Noisy!!! You cannot sleep cause of the noise it makes. The windows probably also so thin that outside noise, people tallking or traffic is loud.

Keurig coffee not good. Hot water takes a while before it happens. Freeway is noisy so if you want quiet it wont be. Bed wasnt to bad for a hotel.

Issues with unbearable hot water or barely warm, nothing in between in the shower. Room smelled musty. House keeping banging on the door at 10am, when check out is at 11am. Mini flies around the toilets.

Room was nice, clean; room service included every day. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only problem was breakfast, which was a huge disappointment. No hot food other than waffles. No eggs, bacon, sausage; nothing other than waffles, bagels, a couple of cereals in prepackaged plastic bowls, oatmeal in packets, (with nothing to put in it), some yogurt and fruit juice in refrig. We have stayed in other Quality Inns and had much better breakfast. The Quality Inn in Petaluma has a much better breakfast with hot items and more variety. It's a shame because the rest of our stay there was so nice.

A little creepy

Nice, quiet place with reasonable prices.

The toilet seat always fell when I raised it, and the front underside of the lid was sticky. The ceramic tile floor of the bathroom and adjoining sink area was nice and clean, but also exceptionally slippery, even when dry and even when my feet were shod. The TV remote would not turn the set on or off: I had to experiment to discover that only working the Standby switch on the set itself would do that. True to its era of construction, the room’s ceiling was paper-thin. I hoped to sleep at 9:00, and that’s when a party entered the upstairs room and thundered like stampeding buffalo for at least an hour. Also noisy was traffic on Hwy 1, less than 100 feet away, although I was able to mask those sounds by turning the fan on high. Finally, cell phone reception was terrible, with about half a “bar.” The two times I spoke to someone, the calls failed halfway through, and I couldn’t open most of the incoming messages. On the plus side: a good shower, a reasonably comfortable bed, a handy clock, a Keurig coffee machine, and a fridge with freezer compartment. But this was both the priciest lodging on my trip ($217) and the worst.

Nothing fancy but a perfectly fine place to sleep for the night. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast available in the morning. Staff was nice. Only a few minutes from main part of HMB.

The staff was very friendly and kind. The hotel was fine. Our room smelled terribly, like body odor. We had to keep the window open the entire stay. We didn't complain to the staff as we weren't in the room much, just to sleep.

The hotel was much pretty much what we expected. The highway nearby is a bit noisy. Aside for that, everything was fine.

Old buildings, wall very thin, can heard every thing next door. Faucet has no hot water, shower water can change from hot to cold quickly. Breakfast no hot food. Only bagel and waffles

The staff was lovely, check in was super easy. The room smelt horrible, like musty old, so we opened all the windows and left for several hours and it still wasn't great in there but it was 1a.m. so we just went to sleep. Breakfast was ok, just waffles, bagels, fruit and cereal. No protein such as eggs, bacon, or sausage.

We stayed at this property for 9 nights while on vacation. It was super clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was quiet and comfortable. The coffee was really good - a rare find at any hotel. We especially appreciated the fresh fruit on the breakfast bar. It was a good value and the location was perfect since we spent time traveling north and south of HMB.

Close parking

This property is always such a joy to spend time at. Easy walking distance to the beach and short drive to shopping, grocery and restaurants. Always hate to leave. Wonderful place to stay with a family and young children

Very quiet and clean

1-squeaky bathroom door woke me up at night. 2-loose cable on TV made channels go out when we turned the TV to view it from the couch not the bed. Room cleaner should have noticed #1 and told maintenance to fix it. At breakfast every morning there was nobody at the front desk to complain to.

Stayed here for 3 nights and tried to extend it for another day visiting family in the area, but they were booked. I can see why. It’s a quiet area within close proximity to half moon bay and felt very safe and cozy. The continental breakfast was great and I was happy to see they had a mini fridge, since I’d brought my cats and they have some food that requires refrigeration. Will very likely be booking here again the next time I’m in town and need a place to stay for the night.

Beds were super comfortable. Coffee was good. Check in was a little abrupt with not much information but it was fine. The young man gave us water bottles, thank you! Simple straightforward, functional room for the night. We left early in the morning so no chance to look at the outside.

I've stayed here before, such a great, affordable place, great location! I'll be back for more!

Clean, comfortable, quiet room. Breakfast bar was a bit underserved.

Front desk person Ozz was not friendly or welcoming. Quiet individual. The first room was close to Main Street and could hear traffic noise. We returned to office and were assigned a room further away from road but could still hear road noise. Ozz not friendly or apologetic. Breakfast was good but no one came in to check on the guests, no customer service, no wiping of dirty tables, both times no one was at front desk during entire time we had breakfast. Rooms decor is old and in need of updating, had dungy smell. We will not be back.

I took my 12 lb. Smooth coat jack russell with me, paid 90.00 extra for 2nights and she came home infested with fleas. Up to this point my 4year old had never had a flea bite. I was also covered in bites. I am going to have to bomb my car, my house, even my suit case has little black fleas. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!! FREE IS TOO EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!

Drove up from the Redwoods that day so coming into the town in the evening was a pleasant surprise. Hotel was clean and staff on hand that evening was really nice.

Thought it was nice till i woke up with no water to flush toilet after my morning sh** or coffee or shower.called office to tell them water was off and they didnt care.the hole building had no running water.they said it be fixed later that day.didnt help me.

First as soon as we arrived to check in there was a line of angry people In the lobby. They were unable to check people in because all the computers were down. I have my license and credit card for them to copy just so I was able to get in my room. We dropped our stuff off and went to dinner upon our return had noticed that there was a strong aroma of cat urine. We went back to the front desk to ask for a different room but was told there was nothing else available and I could check out if I wanted to leave. There were not many options at this time so we asked if we could at least get a candle or some air freshener. We opened the window sprayed the air freshener and turned the heater on. Fortunately I had brought a blanket and pillows with us that we used to sleep on. We packed up in the morning and were ready to leave as we were on our way out wanted to grab at little breakfast but arrive at 9:37am and was told they stop breakfast at 9:30… so we continued on our way out. I did not take pictures because the appearance was not bad just the smell.
