Guests generally have a positive experience at this hotel, appreciating its cleanliness, comfortable beds, and excellent location near the river and downtown attractions. The staff is often praised for being friendly and helpful. However, some guests have issues with housekeeping, parking fees, and certain amenities like the pool or TV not working properly.

The location was convenient, and the breakfast was decent. One thing I appreciated was that fresh omelets were cooked to order at breakfast, which was a nice touch and probably the highlight of the stay. I honestly do not understand how this hotel justifies charging around $400 per night. The rooms were small and poorly designed, with dirty, sticky floors, unpleasant odors in both the room and the bathroom, a dirty shower, and stained or dirty towels. There was not even a simple washcloth available. For the price being charged, the overall cleanliness, comfort, and quality were far below expectations. I also find it difficult to understand how this property has a 4-star rating based on my experience.

We will stay there again soon!!!!

We had a wonderful over night stay for our 39th anniversary. The room was nice and spacious , clean and had a great view of downtown Greenville. Complimentary drinks and snacks the night of check in and a satisfying breakfast the morning of checkout. Will be back

I like the location near the river. The parking is not good. I pulled up for valet, but no one came out. I had to park far away and trying to figure out how to get into the lobby of the hotel is very confusing - no signs or directions at all. The floor tiles on the rooftop bar are uneven and coming loose, making it feel unsafe. The room was fine, but the sink head was loose. The service was terrible - staff was very dismissive and rude - including the lady at the front desk and the hostess at the restaurant. I had to flag someone down just to seat my 7 year old daughter and I.

Josh at Ruth’s Criss made up for the grumpy breakfast chef and treated us to an elevated experience complete with the southern hospitality and made us feel as though he we were his only dinner guests. Bravo Josh!!!

Breakfast was typical of hotel. Famous omelets were marginal quality with eggs out of a milk carton type container.
- 4/5
Great location on the Riverwalk near Reedy Park with easy access to Main Street. The room was well appointed and the bed comfortably firm. The staff was very helpful. There is a city run parking garage below the hotel with very reasonable $10nightly rates and elevator access to the hotel. We were there for Artisphere on Mother’s Day Weekend and parking was a challenge downtown, but the hotel made sure the garage was closed to all but hotel guests so we had no problem getting parking, or worries about leaving during the weekend and having a place to park on our return. Food at the included buffet breakfast was excellent. The shower door kept sliding open about 6 inches while the shower was in use. Would have liked a comfort height commode as most modern hotels now have rather than a low one. The wood on the backs of the breakfast room chairs were always sticky, perhaps due to deteriorating varnish but they felt like they weren’t clean. Unlike other Embassy Suites at which we have stayed, the lobby lounge was only open for the 90-minute happy hour with complimentary drinks and then closed; no paid drinks were available at other hours and bar selection was limited to the free brands during the 90 minutes. Perhaps this was to help steer patrons to the Ruth Chris inside the hotel (expensive) or the roof-top restaurant/bar (cold and loud). It was cool and windy during our visit to the rooftop bar/restaurant and the enclosed portion was off-limits to the public for a private event. The few outdoor spaces out of the wind and near the two fire pits were occupied. A small sheltered area near the bar was also crowded and too noisy with loud music for conversation among our group. The rooftop venue is not affiliated with the hotel and the host station staff were quick to point that out, dismissive of hotel guests and, unhelpful with questions about other drinking / dining options.

Everything was wonderful….except, the parking is sooo confusing, A,B,C, you’re under the hotel, then you’re under the next place or hotel. Got lost trying to find my car twice, 3rd times a charm I guess. Spend a lot of time in Greenville and the hotel was awesome but won’t stay here again because of the parking issue. Price was spot on for parking yourself, but $28 for valet, nope.
- 4/5
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Embassy! A few things to be aware of before your stay. The tile around the pool is very slippery which is not good when you have young kiddos. If you plan to do laundry, make sure to bring quarters with you as this is the only thing the machines take. We loved having a separate sitting room in our suite and the kitchenette. The snacks that were supplied and refilled daily were very useful to take with us when we would go out for the day. I did notice that there were a bunch of crumbs at the bottom of the snack bin that remained there the whole week. When housekeeping came each day varied. A couple of days we came back after a long day out and housekeeping still had not come by. Additionally, while the coffee/tea was fully replenished, the stir sticks and sugar packets were not replenished daily. Lastly, the parking deck was really hard to maneuver and it was difficult finding a parking spot most of the time. The deck is a city parking deck not one that is just for hotel guests.

Clean room, great amenities, breakfast was very well done. Nice location also. Only thing was I wish parking came with the hotel versus having to pay for parking garage and/or valet.

Very nice room and beautiful hotel
- 3/5
The room was in great condition and very clean. The air worked perfectly. My only issues are that in most of your hotels I have found that the toilets are too low. It would also help if the chairs in your living spaces were higher. We enjoyed our stay, but I believe we would have paid for an extra night if things were more comfortable. My wife and I are middle aged 50 -60 but it should not be a struggle to get up.

This hotel is located in the perfect spot to take part in all the inner city happenings! There’s a nice Jazz club located a few steps from the hotel and the cultural infusion of varying cuisine will help you savor many flavors of authentic food! Loved it!

- 3/5
The hotel is beautiful and the location is amazing! The breakfast is fabulous. I’ve never had a complimentary breakfast like that. The hotel desk is very understaffed. There is only one person there. They mistakenly gave other guests a key to our room and they walked in on us. Then when I tried to call the desk, nobody answered after 5 attempts with no answer. Then I was overcharged 100.00 exactly more than my confirmation from Expedia quoted me. I had never used Expedia before and I didn’t know to expect high hidden fees.

- 3/5
We really liked the manager's reception, and the lobby is really nice. We were supposedly "upgraded" to a balcony room, but they put us in an accessible room without telling us first, which may be more convenient for someone with a disability, but isn't as nice and is less convenient for us. The balcony was over a loud AC unit, so we couldn't enjoy it anyway, and the room was a little beat up. We stayed here four years ago and thought it was really nice, so we were disappointed by the downturn. It wasn't terrible, but wasn't great either.

Great location in downtown. Walkable to everything. Great breakfast and view from the dining room.
- 5/5
Clean, safe and convenient
- 5/5
Easy access to downtown.
- 3/5
We usually stay at Embassy Suites because of the convenience and walkability to shops and event venues. The accessibility to a balcony is nice. This trip, the room looked hurriedly put together. Bathroom toilet was not cleaned well, and sink was stopped; thus the 3-star rating. We do not feel that the level of quality matches with the extremely high room rate for this facility.
- 3/5
Enjoyed everything but parking
- 5/5
Great location. Relaxing stay and enjoyable meal at Up on the Roof.
- 5/5
Property was in walking distance
- 5/5
My husband and I were in Greenville for business and this was our first time there. What a wonderful city! And picking the Embassy Suites was perfect. We would recommend to anyone. The location is perfect - beautiful right on river place. Staff was friendly and helpful. We booked a 2-room suite which was great. Would definitely stay there again.

Great room. Very spacious. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. It was a great location to be able to walk around the downtown area. Would definitely recommend it!!! I would like to see hotels put the makeup mirror back. It is not easy to see what you are doing with the regular big mirror on wall.
- 5/5
Great location for shopping, restaurants and walking. Great friendly staff. Loved our room and sitting on the balcony in the evening. Would recommend to friends and family.

- 5/5

- 5/5
Food options and close proximity to activities.
- 5/5
The room was excellent. Tiny and functional kitchen, 2 comfortable beds, a living room. For the 3 of us it was perfect. Quiet. Safe. Everything we needed. We probably should have gotten more towels - 2 swim times and showers for all 3 of us stressed our towel situation. Wi-Fi/internet was wonky but we worked around. Enjoyed the happy hour before we walked to dinner. GREAT breakfast. This was also a factor in our choice and I’m glad. Good selection. Great for 2 adults and child. We parked in City parking attached to hotel for $7 a day. Walked everywhere. We were fortunate to be able to get an early check in. I tried calling the day before - really hard to reach a person at the hotel but I was persistent. We were there midweek, so not overly booked and our room was ready when we got over there early. We will go back.

We were originally directed by staff to the wrong elevator which lead to us going up and down for the next 45 mins on the service elevator that did not have AC in 100 degree weather. I paid a lot for my room but the bathroom was dirt and the view outside was of rusted pipes instead of city views or river views. Very disappointing.

Greenville is an awesome downtown. The Embassy Suites is in a perfect location - close to restaurants, shopping and bars. Clean, spacious and everyone was helpful and professional!

Everything was clean safe and all workers were friendly courteous and very professional had a great stay
- 5/5
I had a great week in the downtown Hilton in Greenville, it's perfectly convenient to the sights, shops and restaurants in the area and parking is a doddle. The hotel is very comfortable and active, there is a Ruth's Chris restaurant in the lobby, which is fabulous, and a very popular roof terrace bar. There's the added convenience of a guest laundry on the same floor as the pool. The only disappointment is the breakfast, not enjoyable, but there's a good fridge in the rooms.
- 5/5
Great hotel, excellent location and amenities.
- 4/5
First room was awful , I complained and they moved me to another room.
- 2/5
Breakfast was okay. The dining area was very dirty. The lady cleaning tables was doing her best but was clearly on her own. The room was okay. Lots of stains on ceiling and wall. Not trying to be picky but wasn’t worth the almost $400 I paid for one night. Location-wise…can’t beat it. Would I stay again…no.

For the price of the room, I would expect not to have to pay to park my vehicle. Most people come in a vehicle. There was hair in the bathroom sink and the water pressure was very low. There was very poor ventilation in the bathroom. When I checked in, the clerk was very informative to the woman in front of me ... I was basically handed my room key. If I didn't overhear the clerk tell the lady in front of me, I wouldn't have know what the complimentary cocktail cards were for. When I called room service, I thought I'd reached the IRS because it took quite a while before I got an answer. The devil is in the details, this isn't supposed to be a budget hotel.
- 5/5
Appreciate the stay. Very convenient location!
- 3/5
It started at the front desk where the new employee had a lot of difficulty getting us checked in. The room was okay, but showed clear signs of wear, especially the bathroom felt dated and worn. There was no shampoo in the wall-mounted bottle in the shower. When you pay $400 for one night, the above details matter. I will not be coming back.
- 5/5
Great location! Great rooftop bar.
- 4/5
Great stay!
- 4/5
The hotel was very nice and it was clean. I liked the breakfast. The noise in the hotel was the only complaint. Not even sure if that’s the hotels fault. But there was extremely loud music that kept my husband and I up until 3 am. It was the weekend. But just a warning that if you’re there with family and for a dance competition you have to get up early for, you may want to choose a quieter location.

Very good stay. Loved that there was a parking deck (With reasonable rates) with an option to valet. Free breakfast which was actually very good. “Up on the Roof” is super cute & the hotel is within walking distance of other restaurants. First time staying but would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
A lovely place to stay. Overall very happy. The breakfast and happy hour were especially nice inclusions.

- 5/5
Very nice property. Super clean and kept up pretty well. Staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
I love this area around the river--so walkable to shopping and dining options. This hotel offers a couple of restaurants, a happy hour and a breakfast so I don't see how you can beat it!
- 3/5
Very overpriced!

Tub had yucky nonstick mat in it. Didn’t drain properly. Had water covering my ankles over the mat in the shower. No thermostat in the room and it was too hot even though it was 30 degrees outside.

This was a beautiful space with nice people working everywhere! Breakfast was excellent too!

Great location which is probably what you are paying for. Nothing else is really worthy of a good review. Room fine. No shampoo filled up - no one to ask for some earlier - when I did it seemed like I was bothering staff. Breakfast pretty awful - toaster didn’t work so asked staff who kicked it and it started working. Bread stale. Pastries look as though they have been sitting there for days. We booked a suite and the sofa bed was so close to our bed it almost touched it. Really wouldn’t recommend especially since it’s so pricey. Great location though but now there are many more hotels to choose from.

Very nice area. The rooms were nice and clean. We had complimentary drinks during happy hour and the omelette were delicious for breakfast. Staff were friendly. Close to many restaurants and shops. I would definitely recommend and revisit.

The parking garage was a confusing mess and the elevator system to actually get in the hotel was a two step process. Elevators were not marked or identified well. The room itself was pretty good though there was no temp control - at least the one we had did nothing and would not change. The temp was never to our liking. Breakfast was very average with tasteless eggs and bacon. Didn't want to have to wait on a custom omelet as there was no one at the counter when we arrived. All in all not a great experience for the price.

Beautiful hotel that was beyond our expectations..❤️

The room was a bit small but very comfortable. Our only glitch was that in the middle of a shower, I discovered that the shampoo and conditioner dispensers were empty. They promptly brought new containers when I called downstairs (dripping wet). The complimentary snacks and beverages were a wonderful touch, and the hot breakfast is always good. The breakfast cook was very friendly and helpful.

Checkin was a bit frustrating. We got to the hotel early, and our room was not ready (no big deal because we were early). I was told we would get a call when our room was ready. We waited until one hour after checking, and never received a call. I went to the front desk and was told our room was ready for quite some time but the previous shift didn’t let the new shift know we were waiting.

Nice hotel, clean and most of the staff were really friendly. When I went to check in we were a little early and I knew we had the possibility of not getting a room until later on... but the lady I encountered at the desk wasn't friendly at all. Luckily when we returned later on to check in someone else was there to check us in and she was friendly. The evening reception used to be much better it was ok, I think I will head over to the Drury next time.
