Reviews
The hotel received mixed reviews with guests appreciating the cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient location. However, there were several complaints about outdated rooms, maintenance issues, and poor customer service from some staff members.

Hospitality of the Staff. Specially a amazing staff named Mercedes. N/A
- 1.5/5
Management staff did not resolve my room issues in a timely manner and actually blamed me for having a sign on my door that said I had pets as the reason they did not rather than reaching out to me to schedule a time to enter my room. Two young staff were friendly and helpful - Myron and Kidus, otherwise no one greeted me when I entered each day and my requests for fresh towels and trash bags were ignored.

Unfortunately the property was having cable issues and I couldn't watch local news and I missed the NBA Finald

The fumes from the grill in the dining /reception area was overpowering during the check in process. The receptionist wasn’t welcoming. The elevators could not handle the traffic and were very slow.. Even though breakfast was included in our booking my family and I were turned away from the dining room to go verify payment at reception and present tickets. This hotel didn’t recognize Hilton Gold star membership. There were not clothes hangers in the room and the a/c temp could not be adjusted
- 4.5/5
Clean and in a prefect spot to shop and eat It did not have a pool
- 1/5
For parking I had to pay separately on per day basis which was way too costly and the breakfast I paid separately for buffett apart from room charges but was told that Buffett was cancelled and had to order s single dish from al-a-carté menu which was also not good. Checkout time is so strict that after 11AM my room key wasn’t working for which I visited reception 3 to 4 times for extension and still did not work.

I love how clean the property was. I loved how informative the front desk was overall was really nice and clean. What I didn’t like about the property is they charge you $15 plus a 1.50 fee for using the phone when that’s the only way you can pay so a total of 16.50 for parking per night. And that meter does not last 24 hours either it goes from the time that you pay for it your check-in to the time that you check out 11:15 on the dot.

It was far from any shopping, and nowhere near a supermarket....so guests were basically sequestered there unless they had a car.
- 3/5
The room was nice and clean, but hotel smelled very strongly of weed in the lobby area and parking lot. Also, they hit me with a $15 parking fee on arrival.
- 1/5
My stay was wonderful. The room was clean and smelling good . The state at check in were knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Breakfast was good and tasty.
- 5/5
The property was nice and clean.
- 4/5
Parking should be free no other IHG property makes you pay for parking in Greenbelt. Then you have the nerve to have a sign saying you’re not responsible for damage to your vehicle. So why are we paying to park.

Parking is not free. I was charged $15/day. Both my wife and I have handicapped parking privileges. There are only 5 or 6 handicapped slots in the entire lot. I am also a Hilton Honors member. I find it ridiculous that I had to pay for handicapped parking. On top of that, upon check in I was told that there was going to be an event that night with over 200 guests and parking would probably be full if we went out and we would have to park in the street. Again, given that my wife and I are both handicapped, that created an impossible situation and I had to make other arrangements to go out to dinner. Why the people who were attending this event (was never told what it was) were provided parking privileges,(did they have to pay?) over guests staying at the hotel is extremely unfair. To compensate, I was given free parking for the first of our two night stay. The second night I got dinner in the hotel restaurant and took it to our room. It was slightly above average but the price was quite high for chicken wings, Ceasar salad, and a burger with fries. Finally, the direction sign for the rooms on our floor pointed in the opposite direction of where the rooms are actually located. I took a photo of the sign and showed it to the person at the front desk. They were quite surprised. I have not decided if I would stay there again the next time we are in the area.

Clean room.
- 5/5
Recently renovated property. Clean, well apportioned room, very friendly and professional staff. Breakfast buffet was worth the price with fresh fruits, variety of breakfast meats, cereal, breads and beverages. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Would come back.
- 3/5
The room had too many ants
- 1/5
Not sure
- 4/5
The lobby is bright and open. One elevator was not working, the other incredibly slow. Looks to have been recently renovated or in process. Room was large and clean. A/C took a decent amount of time to cool the room, but worked decently. Someone I was traveling with could not get their to work. Parking lot is dim. Paid for parking and still got a notice I had not.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 2/5
My pillows on my bed were filthy I showed the front desk a picture hallway on 3rd floor smelled of cigarette n marijuana two big ass dogs on elevator barking at me so I let the elevator go n only one working elevator
- 5/5
It was perfect - modern , clean, quiet
- 5/5
Enjoy my stay.
- 5/5
My stay was one of the best I have had for a while. I do travel a great deal with my job. On first arrival front desk associate Betty went above and beyond to fulfil my request on a 3rd party site, along with the head of housekeeping Miss Evone that night. So, within those 2 weeks the staff from the kitchen area (Africa, and GiGi) have made me fill home away from home. And a big thanks to the hard work from Deadra Robinson for working out the details of my projected 5 + months here, thanks to the Management and staff.
- 5/5
Room amazing, staff exceptional, and made my little weekend trip with the Mrs and relaxing and comfortable. Also Gigi is amazing
- 5/5
Clean spacious room and great staff.
- 2/5
Someone came into our room and dedicated in the toilet while we where gone. Also the person across the hall just sat there all night slamming the door purposely. Literally opening and slamming the door for our entire two day stay. Cleaning ladies blare Spanish music while cleaning the rooms. They also stand outside your door yelling in spanish to annoy you. Shower door wouldn't stay closed, which caused water to go every where.
- 5/5
The room was nice and quiet and clean
- 2/5
No parking
- 3/5
The staff was very nice and friendly. I appreciate that the rooms have recently been renovated but one thing that was constant was the slamming of the doors to the rooms. I heard doors slamming throughout my stay. You will be awoken by them if you’re a light sleeper so the investment in soft closing doors would definitely improve the overall experience. Additionally, the cleanliness of the towels could be better, I only used them for my feet and to cover the countertop surface in the bathroom but I could see a couple stains and the curtains in the window of the room could also be improved as I didn’t feel that I had complete privacy. Lastly, the parking for this hotel should be free, it doesn’t really make sense to me that there is a daily charge for it and the parking is out in the open outside and not covered. Overall, the location was my primary reason for choosing this hotel as the Metro station was close by and enables you to connect directly to DCA.
- 1/5
They didn't put me in the room I bboked, they had ample outside parking but was charging 15 bucks for that. The small couch in the room was dirty as hell. I wouldn't put my shoes on it. Will never stay there again!
- 5/5
The hotel is newly renovated. Very clean and friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay every much. Very convenience, close to everything.

Everything was nice except that I paid for parking and could not find a parking spot. I had to park on the street.
- 3/5
Lots of construction going on. It’s understandable but inconvenient. Hotel was OK. I think it’s not necessary for paid parking to be an issue. It should be free.
- 5/5
do not know. do not drink

Horrible parking that you get charged for
- 1/5
They nickel and dime you for parking etc
- 1/5
Major renovation...stain on sofa...bathroom door didnt close...hair in tub and toliet

Remodeling of the hotel looks great! Staff was friendly and helpful! Nice area! A few places nearby to walk to.
- 5/5
Amazing
- 3/5
Convenient
- 5/5
I like the property and where it located . I was not happy that I had to pay a 200 dollar service fee and then on top of that pay for parking in their parking lot where I was staying. There was rust in my shower leaking from the handle bar. The door for the rest room wouldn't the whole way but outside of those issues. The staff was amazing, the lobby was gorgeous and clean despite the renovation
- 3/5
The property was very clean inside despite all the construction. They were sneaky about the gym being closed. They didn't mention when we checked in. Parking in the rear looked very shady. There was broken glass in the rear parking lot. Service staff didn't really care about not having all the amenities they advertised. Breakfast is lacking big-time. Very limited variety.
- 4/5
Hotel when booking should let customers know it’s under construction
- 5/5
Goo
- 2/5
You have to pay for parking overnight. And there is limited parking because of construction
- 5/5
Other thab some construction it was great. The front desk people were excellent.
- 3/5
This hotel is under renovation so I didn’t expect all to be spotless. When I checked in I was informed that they were taking a $200 deposit and that parking in the outside front lot now cost $15 per day. I’ve never had a hotel actually take a deposit. They do take a credit card for incidentals but not an amount being held. The parking was not explained well to me. I assumed they would charge me from the deposit. When I went to my car the next morning, I had a citation for not being registered. When I paid it, instead they charged me $33. I learned that was a penalty for not paying the night before. When I paid for last night they charged me double to rate. When I went to the desk, they told me they don’t monitor the parking, an outside company does and they couldn’t help me with the overcharge amount. I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. I won’t be staying again.
- 3/5
Construction going on
- 5/5
They are renovating the hotel so be leery of that. But otherwise the hotel was great. The staff was wonderful. My room was clean and it was quiet despite being a weekend that was very, very busy because of a concert I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.
- 1/5
There was also construction happening on the second floor that probably prompted a fire alarm. The construction is fine. Even the fire alarm being triggered is fine, however no one made any attempt to notify guests that there wasn't an emergency. Poor customer service in my opinion.
- 1/5
-5 out of 10. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!
- 1/5
It would have been nice to know that they were renovating the hotel and did not enough parking on the property
- 5/5
It was close to the Friday’s restaurant
- 2/5
Unfriendly staff, too expensive for none of the amenities to be available
- 3/5
My stay was just ok, nothing special
- 1/5
Rooms were dated and could see visible stains on the box springs. The hotel had large amounts of construction going on and we were unaware until check in. The construction was loud and the only working ice machine was 2 floors away. Further there were no restaurants onsite. They also continuously said my vehicle wasn’t registered even though it was.
- 5/5
I didn't like the fact that I had to pay additional money for parking.
- 4/5
Was told that there’s one in the room even when my room wasn’t ready. The guy at the reception is just ready to go home and wasn’t ready to address my concerns.
- 2/5
Only one person at the front desk was friendly, the one on our last night. Otherwise they were very unfriendly. We had to wait until 5pm for our room to be ready. In one of our rooms, the shower was so slippery my dad almost fell. The doors closing are so loud it woke us up several times each night.
- 5/5
I had a good stay. The shipping containers made it difficult to find parking but I get it they are remodeling
- 2/5
The walls were very thin and could hear people running down the hallway and talking next door.
- 5/5
Very nice and would stay again. The property is under construction and the restaurant is closed. But the staff were awesome, bed comfortable, the shower was hot, and the room was clean.
- 3/5
ok

Check in was difficult. The clerk manning the desk could not find my reservation, despite the fact that one of the two people had already checked in. And I made the reservation. When shown evidence of the booking, to include the reservation number, the clerk remained perplexed. This was aggravating and unnecessary. There was NO breakfast, despite the fact that I booked expecting breakfast included. The Hilton Garden Inn further insulted its guests by requiring a $15 per night charge for parking. There was no security, even cameras (I looked for them), and we were further insulted by the hotel's telling us they are not responsible for damages in the parking lot. Hot water and water pressure was a real problem as well. Very disappointing!!
- 2/5
Surprised that have to pay for parking. That’s just ridiculous!
- 3/5
Normal
- 5/5
Stay was excellent just wish they could’ve said they doing construction
- 3/5
A HOTEL IS HOTEL. HOWEVER I WONT BE GOING BACK TO THIS ONE. THEY ATTEMPTED TO CHARGE EVERY CUSTOMER $15 TO PARK ON THEIR LOT. WHAT HOTEL IN AMERICA DOES THIS? NOT VALET. NOT A GARGAE. NOT A SECURE LOT. NOT FOOTBALL GAME PARKING. JUST $15 TO USE THEIR LOT WHILE PAYING TO SLEEP THERE FOR A NIGHT. WHOEVER THOUGHT OF THAT NEEDS TO BE FIRED. THIS CANNOT BE A HILTON REWARDS POLICY. IE STAYED AT THIS HOTEL AT LEAST 6 TIMES OR MORE ON TRAVEL IN THE LAST 2-3 MONTHS. NOT ANOTHER PENNY. I HOPE MORE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS END THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU. IM VERY UPSET AT THIS FRAUDULENT BEHAVIOR.
- 3/5
Hotel with under construction, renovations would’ve been nice to know ahead of time.
- 2/5
The hot water in the morning didn't go hot (perhaps because of the renovations) after running it for quite some time, so a cold shower. They'd made a big deal about providing a packed breakfast in the morning (they provided a printed sheet about it) because the restaurant was closed. It was supposed to be available from 6 am, I went down around 6:35 am to leave, no packed breakfasts in sight. Perhaps it was aspirational on their part, but the breakfast was an absolute myth. The coffee machines in the room provided half descent coffee.
- 5/5
Very clean and good customer service
- 5/5
Clean, quiet, bit dated, but staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Maybe it location
- 5/5

- 1/5
Hotel.com web site charged me $20 for breakfast. Hotel said that they serve breakfast only on Sundays. Besides money this was extremely inconvenient. Because of my medical conditions i have to eat early morning. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. No exercise/pool either.
- 4/5
Nice place
- 1/5
We were not informed that the pool was under renovation until after we arrived, which was unfortunate. The tv in our room didn’t seem to work, or, it only had one channel. The hotel has modified cleaning protocols, but on the one day where our room was cleaned, the staff member only made one of the two beds, when it was clear that both were used. Finally, the ice machine on our floor was broken for the duration of our stay, which meant that we had to check the other floors if we wanted ice.
- 5/5
Excellent experience
- 5/5
Just a weekend getaway but a very nice stay!
- 5/5
Nice stay from check in to check out. Everyone was kind. The property was clean. Beds were comfy.
- 2/5
We’ve stayed here almost every Thanksgiving for the last 10 years .. The location is very convenient, but the service and communication is not there , we literally stayed there for the pool for our 6 year old, and was told it was closed all 4 nights we stayed . Also for the Breakfast, which was not offered at all , not even a cold/dry “ help yourself “ breakfast..Only ice was working on one floor, and Not one time in the 4 nights did any cleaning service come by to change our trash or give us more towels or Tp.. when I asked for more from the women , I was told she speak no English. And to end the trip , we left our fan in the room and went back an hour later and it “disappeared “.. we will definitely be staying at the Marriott across the street for the future.
- 1/5
The pool and tub that were advertised were not working. There were hookers walking in and out of the lobby at night while children were walking around. And the second day we had no hot water in the room.
- 5/5
The staff was extremely helpfulwith a great attitude!!
- 4/5
I like how quiet the property was.
- 5/5
Cleanliness, the big spacious room and it had a microwave and a mini fridge. This is important for people coming another who wants to relax, without going to many stores and restaurants!!
- 3/5
No hot water in the shower. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable.
- 2/5
There were mice in one of the meeting rooms
- 3/5
The property is nice. Its in a nice location. It seemed pretty safe. And, the people working there were all nice. But, there were a couple issues. One, we only had one light in our bathroom. So, we showered pretty much in the dark every morning. On Saturday I had what I thought was the complimentary breakfast. But, buyer beware, unlike many other Hilton branded hotels, when we went down to breakfast on Sunday, it is not free. This became an ugly conversation when I questioned getting a bill on Sunday, talked to them about Saturday, and they wanted to charge me for Saturday's breakfast, at that point, too. I thought it was in poor taste.
- 1/5
My stay wasn’t enjoyable at all… I was greatly disappointed. I wouldn’t stay here again.
- 4/5
Above average.
- 5/5
It was a really nice hotel. I wish they had a free breakfast. I travel a lot and the majority of hotels have them.
- 2/5
Room not ready. Waited more than an hour. Room and bathroom not clean. Roaches!!!!
- 2/5
Room smelled very musty. Lobby coffee was empty and unattended. Not what you would expect from a Hilton property.
- 2/5
Nothing really
- 2/5
After we settled into our room a mouse ran behind the dresser. It came back out then ran back when I yelled. I called to get a new room which was done. After the call I noted mouse trap boxes behind the refrigerater cabinet as well as on either side of the windows, behind the drapes. I am terrified of mice and contacted Hilton Gardens to notify them and request a refund. Still no response from them after 2 weeks. Will not stay there again.
- 3/5
Would never stay there again. Room was very dirty
- 5/5
Always Excellent stay when I stay at the Hilton Garden Inn
- 5/5
Perfectly located short distance to UMD
- 3/5
Good basic accommodations.
- 5/5
We had a lovely stay. Front desk personnel was was so nice. Room was very clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
The front desk clerk was friendly upon checkin. The hotel was clean, my room was ready when I arrived. My only complaint is the hot tub wasn’t hot and unfortunately the front desk clerk didn’t know how to fix it. It was ice cold, the jets worked but no heat. Other than that my stay was great ! My room was clean, quiet and comfortable
- 1/5
This was one of the worst hotel experiences that I have ever had! I had to change my room 3 different times! The first time because the air conditioner was broken, the second time because the room was filthy and the third room the keys wouldn't work for the doors. Their kitchen was not operational so they served breakfast in a box! The ice machine on my floor was out of order so I had to get on the elevator to go up two flights to get ice ! I have mobility issues! The lobby was presentable but the outdoor seating area was a joke, every cushion in every chair was flat and dirty! The carpets in the rooms also were dirty! The furniture in the rooms are falling apart and the bed platforms were dirty and looked like the were going to collapse! I stayed because I didn't have anywhere else to go at such a sort notice and this was my first time traveling to this city! I don't recommend this hotel!
- 3/5
Not enough staff to attend during check in and check out times, breakfast is measly a whole milk, apple, banana and muffin. Asked abt juice and said there was none.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay here
- 4/5
Nothing else
- 4/5
Rude staff. Not happy
- 3/5
The room smell of mildew. Drywall falling from the ceiling from a wet spot in the ceiling. The room was poorly vacuumed with previous guest slippers still there.
- 3/5

The staff is so welcoming. I felt like I was welcomed home. I arrived pretty early, about 11am and was scared that a room wouldn't be ready but it was!!! I truly appreciate a microwave and fridge being in the room. The shower pressure is immaculate, I did not want to come out. The room was very clean. The hotel is quiet and I love my peace. I ordered Popeyes and it was brought right to my room door. Amazing all around!!! Thank you
- 2/5
There were not just one, but two mice in the room whee I stayed. I really don't want to experience the attitude of simply changing the room without even a single word of apology. That night, my wife and I had to deal with the chaos of moving our luggages to another room, and throughout this ordeal, the hotel staff on duty didn't even ask if everything was okay. It was a truly terrible experience.
- 5/5
Had an amazing time!
- 3/5
Feel more like low cost hotel. Smells I can't identify. Sticky table and nightstand surface. Carpet and bed cover has stains. The good things are, free water, fast wifi, free parking, spacious room and bathroom, many power outlets, bathtub drains fast.
- 3/5
My room was terribly musty. No amount of air fixed it. It was like it had a flood for a week before.
- 5/5
Nice room and property
- 3/5
The bad thing was that I contacted several times the hotel to get back an item that I left and they never resolved my concern . You can’t trust people that worked there they kept things that they found !
- 5/5
Great location
- 3/5
Check in experience wasn't great. Clerk ignored me for several minutes. Then someone walked up in front of me and was helped. Not a great way to kick off the stay. Overall, the room was clean but somewhat worn. Table/nightstand don’t look great. Water spots on the ceiling on the bathroom. Plenty of decent towels and amenities in the room.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and my room was clean
- 3/5
Property staff was cordial and friendly. However, one staff member told me hotel was full when i inquired about changing rooms. I had 2 friends without reservations book the same night as my check-in.
- 5/5
This Hotel's is one of Greenbelt's BEST kept secrets! While being tucked away in a peaceful corner, its still in very good proximity to anything you could possibly need or want. The staff is friendly, the breakfast buffet was delicious! Overall I was very pleased!
- 4/5
I’ve stayed at this Hilton Garden Inn many times. It remains a good stay, but it’s more of a Holiday Inn Express now than it was in the past. Dated, but very clean and has what you want and need. the staff were efficient. There were a lot of families booked this stay and it was quiet and all were well-behaved. Friendly atmosphere. The restaurant and buffet breakfast are no longer worth it in quality and cost, but convenient. So is grub hub. Definitely recommend for a no frills, solid stay in a great location for travelers off the highway, visiting DC or Univ of Maryland, NASA, or the other gov agencies nearby.
- 4/5
Room was fine. Clean and spacious bit the door to the adjoining room was apiece of delaminating plywood which was a bit of an eyesore to an otherwise nice room.
- 1/5
Spa out of order. Up charges on breakfast buffet. Bathroom drain didn’t work. TV didn’t work. Indifferent staff and Manager. I wouldn’t stay there again. I tried escalating complaints during my stay to Corporate to no avail. Definitely a one star property
- 5/5
No comment
- 5/5
Love the quietness, it very clean. Breakfast was just okay, not many choices though. Nice place to stay.
- 4/5
My stay was very good. It was clean & comfortable. I was surprised to find out that housekeeping does not automatically come & clean the room daily. Maybe because its been some time since I traveled last but I thought it was protocol for them to make rounds to each room daily & ask. They did come the following day once we requested it & they did a great job.
- 2/5
We had roaches in our room. The second room they gave us had plumbing issues. Convenient location but the rooms need be exterminated and upgraded.
- 5/5
It was a very pleasant experience.
- 5/5
Loved how close property was to Washington DC. Was able to stay close to city without being inside city limits. Staff to was excellent as well!
- 5/5
I was visiting for work with my team and it was very convenient location
- 3/5
It was an ok stay!

Clean. Friendly staff. A bit dated but served its purpose
