Holiday Inn Express Grand Island - Niagara Falls by IHG

But we checked in, with the intent to drop off our stuff and get an Uber to go into town. We got into our room after dodging puddles of water all over the tile in the entryway, because kids were running though from the pool not toweled. We get into our room and it hasn't been cleaned from the previous person. Baby oil bottle on the counter, bed unmade, money on the counter and just dischevleed. Went out to notify the desk, and there was now a line of folks checking in. Took about 15 minutes to get back up. The gentleman swapped our rooms. After that, all was mostly ok. The new room was clean, but very humid in the room, everything just felt wet/damp. Slept the night and woke up early for our long ride home. Shower door wouldn't stay closed, so to shower you had to hold it closed otherwise water would have gotten everywhere. Overall, not terrible, but we stayed at 3 different Holiday Inn om our road trip and this was the most expensive, and also the worst of the 3. Nothing was offered in the way of a discount or anything.

The room was large and clean. Breakfast was a good traditional free meal. Close to Niagara Falls without the Niagara Falls price. Our only complaint was that we were only able to find 2 outlets that our chargers would work in and not fall out and none of them were near the beds. Outlets are just old and worn out. Overall it was a good night stay though.

We did a quick stop for the night before checking out Niagra Falls for the day. It was a nice hotel, well-maintained, with a decent breakfast. The room was spacious! Only negative... the pull-out bed mattress = terrible. Advise against using it.

The hotel is very nice. We had a very quiet, clean room. The breakfast food was very good and they kept bringing out fresh. The front desk clerk was very nice. The bed was comfortable

This was our third stay, and by far it’s literally one of the best Holiday Inns! With IHG rewards, we got an extremely early check in (noon), a welcome gift for members and a late check out (noon).

There was no hot food available for breakfast

The staff at the front desk (esp Jamal) was friendly and helpful. The property was generally dirty and not well maintained. Floors throughout were not cleaned. Breakfast area was very busy and the staff could not keep up with stocking items or cleaning tables. The AC unit in our room did not work. Shower floor was so dirty that I wore my shoes to take a shower! This property was not a good reflection on the Holiday Inn Express /IHG brand.

Decent rooms for a days stay

The hotel was nice. The issue was breakfast. There’s supposed to be hot breakfast each morning. First morning, the cook doesn’t show so there’s no hot breakfast and the second day breakfast opened nearly 20mins late. It took me having to say something for the person working the front to open up breakfast.

Housekeeping needs to do a better job specially when cleaning bathrooms and taking out trash. Breakfast was decent and had issue with one staff member as I was trying to book an additional night but was told there was no rooms available and come to find out from another staff member there were rooms available when I already had everything out of the room we were staying.

I was booking for three night and I only stay for tonight. I know I will not get the money back. The breakfast is OK. The room was no good. The shower is not working, wat does that OK? Offer me another room I don’t want to move, the bed with throw up but I do not want to complain i’ll let you know the price I pay is not working,

Great place, clean, helpful staff, good breakfast. Location is a slight discomfort, you are about 10 min drive from everything, not a big deal but a slight inconvenience. Stay was great

Cosas a mejorar: 1. Cuando entramos a la habitación el sofacama tenía algunas migajas de comida. Tuvimos que notificarlo e inmediatamente nos movieron a una que sí estaba limpia. 2. El rooftop necesita atención urgente. Las mesas estaban sucias, había cristales rotos, se veía descuidado. 3. Tuvimos que notificar que la basura no la habían sacado del cuarto hacia más de dos días. Lo notificamos en front desk y la respuesta fue que habían escrito que ya la basura había sido removida (lo que no era correcto).

Staff was super nice, bed was comfortable, room clean. In general and at no fault to hotel, it’s inherently noisy since it’s located near major highway.

Very spacious and quiet. Good breakfast

Front desk staff was curt and rude. They never answered the front desk phone, I had to go down and wait at the desk until they came up from the back room, and even then they had the speaker phone blaring on their cell phone while I tried to talk to them. They said they "don't do cribs or pack and plays" which I've never encountered at any other hotel I've ever been to, and they were no help with that at all. The laundry room soap dispenser was empty after it took my money, and they lied and said they would fix it the next day and they didn't. There was pink mold all over the shower base in our bathroom, and dark black mold covering the washing machine drum.

Nice experience

The breakfast was very good, with plenty of options and everything well stocked. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The only issue we encountered was that several of the electrical outlets in our room were loose and would not securely hold our cell phone chargers, which made charging our phones difficult. That said, it's understandable given how frequently outlets in hotel rooms are used by guests plugging and unplugging devices every day. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again. Thank you for helping make our trip enjoyable and memorable.

I checked in late at night i had a wonderful stay and the rooms were clean with proper amenities but the person who checked me in was not helpful at all he was rather mean in answering to the questions, when i asked him politely of there is any room on the higher floor or for a late checkout possible he was not friendly nor attentive and said “the hotel is full” nothing can be done . Rest the room was very nice and the location is close to the falls like 10 mins drive.

We went up to see the Niagara falls during the Memorial Day weekend- and as fate would have it, we were rained out. We ended up cutting our trip short. I have to say - the Manager was very gracious and refunded the money for the unused days - even though we were past the cancellation period. I have not seen this kind of customer service in recent days.

The front desk person was dismissive when we tried to check in. When we asked for beddings for the pull out sofa bed, he behaved as if we were such an inconvenience to him.

The hotel is in a nice, quiet location with short drives to get to the major attractions. However, the hotel could use some updates. It was hard to catch someone at the front desk outside of morning hours. There was an ice machine not working, a coffee machine not working, pancake machine at breakfast not working. Nothing too major but annoying when you’re counting on using those things. The employees I interacted with were friendly and helpful.

I liked the bed sheets soft and silk like. I loved the fresh brewed coffee machine.The rooftop restaurant could use some managerial monitoring. Food was served with sandwich hot and sweet potato fries cold. My pizza served 10 minutes after and we had to find waitress to ask where it was. Parking free that’s a plus!

Instead of body wash at the shower area, they placed Hand wash dispenser. I guess they didn’t have enough staff(s) to double check if the room is ready for guests access.

The room was spotless, the staff was excellent, the common areas were very clean. The hotel is just one of a few that actually had an ADA room that we requested to accommodate a wheelchair individual, and without any bogus additional fees to accommodate us.

Very nice newer hotel. Bit of a drive to get to the city though. No complaints at all about the room except housekeeping didn’t clean the room, although they were actively cleaning rooms on my end of the hall when I left the room. Overall my stay was very pleasant. There is a lounge in the hotel that seems to be pretty popular with people who are not staying in the hotel, but the customers didn’t disrupt anything at the hotel other than the parking. There was no loitering, nor any other disruptive behavior.

Complimentary fresh popcorn and cupcakes were enough of a win my toddler. Room was clean and the bathroom was huge. Breakfast was decent. Sadly the pancake machine was broken but french toast sticks made up for it. The parking sucks though. Limited spots near the entrance and other spots are scattered all over.

Interact with customers . About 4 customers there and poor singer outside singing to no one .. try food up there wings $22 for ten were crispy . Suggest u have a rep downstairs in lobby near elevator promoting instead of being on 4th floor hoping for the best Overall ok to stay wouldn't not recommend eating there. Drive to Niagara 10 miles away better serve your pocket and stomach

Better breakfast than most complimentary

Staff was polite and helpful. Room size was large and comfortable. Breakfast had a lot of options. Only complaint is drink prices at the rooftop terrace, nothing is listed with pricing so imagine my shock when I ordered the drink they had on "special" and was charged $14 for one drink and $8 for a beer. Needless to say next time I'll bring my own drinks and maybe just hang out there for the atmosphere. Bartender was nice but we sat there with empty glasses/bottles for over 30 minutes, there were only 3 other people there at the time. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. Complimentary coffee and tea 24 hours a day as well.

Don’t look for a coffee maker in your room, they have awesome machines that grind, brew and deliver the freshest coffee I ever experienced in a hotel!

The hotel is a large hotel. The rooms are nice and comfortable and clean. The breakfast was ok. It’s about a ten minutes drive from Niagara Falls. Located in a little bit of a weird location.

They did not clean my room daily

Everything was excellent. Clean and quiet except for a squeak in the wall unit. It may be a bearing issue but the noise was not too loud, but a little high pitched which was a little annoying. Outside temperature was not too bad so the unit did not run very much. Everything else was great from quick check-in to quicker exit. The man at the desk was prepared with our paperwork, so once he checked my identity, we were done.

Staff at the desk, breakfast, and custodial were very cheerful and welcoming. The place was very clean and tidy, and breakfast was good. Great they had so many EV chargers in the lot. Minor complaints were that our shower had a leak that was dripping loudly all the time, and the shower door didn’t close properly. They also had FOX news playing in the lobby/breakfast area, which really gives an unnecessary icy vibe to a space that should feel warm and welcoming. Maybe it could have been something more neutral and useful like the weather channel.

A great day and probably the best hot breakfast you’re going to find anywhere. A great selection of hot and confectionery foods. Crispy, bacon, home fries, baked beans, Bisquits, bagels, toast, yogurt, fresh, fruit and other things! Room was great and clean and staff were friendly! This is our third time staying here and we’re pretty picky about where we stay. A++

I had a wonderful stay here. Very convenient location to pop over to Niagara Falls. The staff was friendly and very helpful with things to see and places to eat. Loved that there is a pool, gym and laundry while I’m on a long road trip. Breakfast in the morning was great. Would stay here again. Sunset view from the rooftop where there was a simple restaurant. The restaurant seemed to be ran a little loosely and the entire staff all sped out of the parking lot while I was gathering things from my car. The rest of the hotel was fantastic though.

Place is super clean, but there was a smell in the room, like sour. It was too late to change rooms so we didn’t speak to anyone about it.

The clothing dryer would only take Quarters and the service desk told me they don't have quarters for $1.00.

There was never anyone at the front desk. Disappointed that there was no hot tub. The first laundry had only one set of machines. And the laundry room was dirty.

My reservation was for six guests, but the room was equipped with only four sets of towels, and no additional bedding was provided for the sofa bed. Guests should not have to search for essential items when these services and amenities have already been reserved and paid for. I believe this should have been properly prepared prior to our arrival.

The room was very clean and spacious, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The water pressure was a bit weak, the soap bottle was empty but the location was very quiet. I only gave it 4 stars because it’s 15 minutes away from the falls if that’s your goal. However, I still enjoyed my stay.

Hotel is the by far the best holiday inn express I have stayed it. The front desk people are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are cleaned every day and if you sleep in they leave a note under the door to let you know they can provide towels etc if needed. The breakfast is loaded with many hot item options along with breads and yogurts and hot sweet rolls.

As a hotel GM I was very pleasantly surprised by the experience. Special thanks to Jamal who went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.

First room I got moved from cause air conditioning cover was apart on the floor. Second room to use heat or air conditioner it was a high pitch noise. First night was absolutely horrible and hotel did absolutely nothing. Keep Imind I was stuck so nothing I could do. Manager was suppose to call and never did. If you need some help at night good luck. The guy leaves the desk and leaves a note.. He don't answer though.

Room was spacious and clean. Pool was perfect, water was warm! No towels in the pool area but the front desk gave us some. The breakfast was generous and better than many places we’ve stayed with a number of options, including an automatic pancake machine. The staff were helpful and kind. The hallways smelled so nice! Reminded me of the scents in Vegas hotels.

Hotel was in good location but had lots of issues… mold in bathroom, zero water pressure in shower, only one outlet in room worked the plugs would just fall out, only one washer and dryer for entire hotel, ice machines were empty or did not work on every floor but the third. Breakfast was a typical hotel bkfst. Not the best quality but Tim Hortons is close by! On a positive staff was friendly and beds were comfortable

Front desk associate during our check in on 12/30 was incredibly respectful and kind. Breakfast was better than usual for Holiday Inn Express hotels. Only downside was they did not restock yogurt or fruit during later breakfast hours. Location was close to downtown Niagara but a little ways out enough to feel more private and away from the noise and lights - also saves on cost! Hotel was clean, bed was comfortable and our overall stay was very pleasant. Thank you for a great stay!

Good customer service and everything good in the hotel.

Did not care for the turkey sausage, wanted more pork sausage only got on first morning. The omelets where yummy. Maybe have some ice the hot chocolate and coffee was extra hot.

Staff was lovely. We woke up to lots of snow and the concierge had a leaf blower out to clear everyone’s cars! Only downside of the stay was that there wasn’t really housekeeping. They did not make the bed for our 2nd night and they took the dirty towels but didn’t leave any new ones. Had to get some from the front desk.

Room was spacious and very clean, except for a few (old) carpet stains. Hot buffet breakfast was decent with a variety of food. Fresh bean to brew coffee available 24/7. Pool and rooftop bar (although it was closed during my stay). Friendly staff. Isolated location-nothing in walking distance. All-in-all-a good stay!

The carpet in the room 122 was absolutely disgusting appearing to have large blood stains in mutliple areas, the caulking in the shower was covered in mould and while I understand that pull out sofas are not the utmost in comfort the one in our room was not suitable for sleeping.

Impressed with room and cleanliness. UNFORTUNATELY: the heating system once turned on in the room ( room # 121 ) .... sounded like a space shape landing and would not stop. Therefore we had to turn off the heat to get a break from the sound which resulted in a cold night. If any colder we would have had to leave as hotel was fully booked. We mentioned it in the morning to the desk clerk and played him the audio of the noise. Stated no manager on site because of weekend but would pass it on. Other than that we enjoyed our stay but with an chilled asterisk. Thanks, Brian.

The experience was extremely unsatisfying. We checked in at 4 AM. The guy who was at the front desk didn’t even say anything about our amnesties or complimentary breakfast or even a proper greeting. His behavior was like we came at late night so it was our terrible mistake we shouldn’t have wake him up for his job which he gets paid.

Wow! This place was amazing. Great customer service, attentive. Facility was clean and upscale. Breakfast was wonderful. Big room with comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom. Luxurious especially for off season.

My 3 days stay was perfect, 10/10 for the bed and pillows! I slept superb. Reception staff are swift, Bedroom, lampshades, chairs, tables are clean and I’m working condition, no stains! Free breakfast? Not the best in terms of variety but with cereal,bread,protein meat,coffe or juice who needs a complicated breakfast? Parking for cars are enormous! I will recommend and I will definitely come back.

Brenda the Lead housekeeper was awesome. When we checked in, our bath soap was empty, I did bring my own but the next morning at breakfast she stopped to say hello and asked if there was anything we needed. We told her about the soap, and she took care of right away.

When Expedia screed our reservations up on three of or five nights (by indicating tat we had reserved for two rather than the three guests that would be needing a room with two queen sized beds) evere imitated given a room with a king size bed. When we explained the mistake to the young en at the Sekt he gave us he rom we had reserved-and sad t would be no additional cost yet after we checked out and were on our way we saw that they had charged us significantly for a third person

we stayed at this hotel for 1 night in august, when we were leaving in the morning my daughter forgot her bag there. we remembered it 2 hours after we left and i immediately called the hotel and explained the issue, the person in charge told me that the bag was with me and that i had to follow some procedures, i did whatever was necessary and forwarded it to them, but we could not receive the bag, i called several times to get information but each time i called they said they would investigate the issue and get back to me but they definitely never did!!! Now i ask you how reliable this hotel is, when i first called the bag was there what must have happened to it afterwards i did not get a call back!!! never again, it was a big disappointment for us!! please reconsider if you are thinking of staying there!!!

This was an excellent place to stay while visiting Canada only 6 miles away. Jamal at front desk was very friendly and helpful as were all the staff. Breakfast was delicious.

Overall close to lots of food options and a Walmart a block away. Might not be the best part of town. Close to Michigan and lake Michigan. 15 minutes.

My husband and I had a wonderful two night stay for our 30th anniversary. We chose to stay on Grand Island to avoid all the hustle and bustle closer to Niagara Falls. Yet, it was still conveniently located in under a 10 minute drive to Niagara Falls State Park. The hotel was very clean, and the beds are comfortable. There was a nice selection for the breakfast that was included. What stood out the most was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They went above and beyond to welcome us (this included the front desk gentlemen, the housekeeper, and the waitress at the restaurant ) When they found out we were celebrating our anniversary, we were given two complementary drink coupons for the fourth floor restaurant. In addition, we received a 20% discount coupon for our meal and a free dessert. Our only wish was that it would’ve been a little bit warmer outside during our stay, because there was quite a large outdoor eating area on the rooftop that was neat. Great stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

Went to Niagara Falls and this was a convenient location, it was quiet, clean and parking was easy without an additional charge. Has a pretty rooftop bar with food and nice view (has a fireplace if cooler)

Check-in was a breeze. The desk and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. The beds, showers, and bathrooms were spacious and very clean. The room and the halls smelled fresh. The area is away from everything but it was quiet and peaceful. I would stay here again.

More than half of the outlets in my room did not work. Made it hard to get things charged while having to have a breathing machine plugged in at night that actually fell out of one of the loose wall outlets (of the few that actually worked) during the middle of the night and shut the machine off. When telling the girl at the desk she just replied oh we know.

We have stayed here a few times now. Very clean. Staff are all professional, polite and friendly.

We also liked that the breakfast has a number of options. This may be the first time my wife has had breakfast at the hotel we have stayed at every single day!The coffee machine that's always available in the lobby 24hrs is a hit!

This place wasn’t amazing, but also wasn’t terrible. It was a good deal, for what we paid. Seems like it could use a little TLC to bring it back up to par. But overall… if you’re just looking for a safe spot to lay your head at night… it for sure does the job! Looking for fancy? Immaculate? Modern? May not be for you…

My room had a mildew smell and guest above were really noisy, I also didn’t have wash towels in my room; just large ones .but everything else was really good. Breakfast was good, hotel staff were really nice

The carpet in our room had a lot of big spots on it otherwise the room was clean. Lighting in the room was a little different with dark spots. Breakfast was good except they only had one little toaster for 50 people and the coffee machines couldn’t keep up with the amount of people at times.

The BEST option by far, CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. The only hotel in the area that doesn’t cut any corners. Free breakfast, Free parking, very clean, very quiet. And only 10 mins from the falls. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Niagara Falls.

The woman who checked me in was helpful. I really liked the layout of the room, especially the refrigerator/microwave counter and bathroom/shower. The chaise lounge seat, additional chair and moveable computer table are nice features of the room. The bed and bedding were comfortable. The pool was a nice place to do an AM water aerobics workout (great hours 8-10). The breakfast area was clean and well-stocked with a nice variety of items; there were more hot breakfast options at this property than at other HI Express properties where I have stayed recently.

None of the outlets or usb ports worked in room 205 and the room was not vacumed. The air conditioner did not cool room. Staff was unconcerned.

Very nice motel. Very nice rooftop bistro. Just far enough away from Niagara Falls to be quiet and close enough to get there easily.

We were quite late getting in, and the front desk accommodated us and extended our checkout time. Very considerate. We were too tired to notice much about our rooms, but we had a comfortable night's stay.

This location was a very clean location ,was laid out excellent in the rooms.but the most impressive part of my stay was everything that happened after I got there. Upon arrival I got sick was taking the next morning by ambulance to the hospital.

The room was huge and the beds so comfortable! The restaurant on the top level (not affiliated with the hotel) had delicious pizza and salads. Super convenient location to Niagara Falls and very helpful staff with the generous breakfast offerings in the morning, that you'd expect at a Holiday Inn.

Everything was acceptable. No frills just an average HIE.

So, first of all Jamal who checked us in did an amazing job. He was the best part of the stay. The worst partly was returning to our room at 9pm on Saturday night and finding our door open and unlocked. Apparently when they gave us some towels and pulled up our blankets they left the lock open and the door ajar. So, would NOT recommend staying here unfortunately.

Just wonderful! The beds were so comfortable. The room was large. I liked having all the toiletries in dispensers. The pool was really nice. We’re geocachers so having a few geocaches on the property was nice. We saw a lot of couples walking around the property. Breakfast was also really good. Friendly staff. Great price!

Room was nice but the bathroom had loose tiles and they didn’t tell us that there was a switch on the wall by the door to turn the electrical outlets on. We found a couple that worked and was able to charge our phones. Learned about the switch the next day at breakfast. The breakfast was pretty good and they had fresh ground coffee.

This was a great hotel. Jamal was maybe the nicest front desk clerk I've ever encountered. The only downfall was the service at the onsite restaurant, not good at all. But the breakfast was great, property was clean, overall a great stay.

The property feels new and is well-maintained. The rooms are spacious, and the front desk staff is both friendly and courteous. Breakfast offers a good variety, and the location is just a 10-minute drive from Niagara Falls and major attractions. Overall, a great value for money.

The restaurant upstairs was fun, especially on Karaoke night. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We did find a bedbug the first night but staff moved us to another room for that night, then to another handicap accessible room the next morning, and took one day of charges off as compensation.

Very Neat and clean property in a quiet place Welcoming and friendly front desk staff! And especially the lady was so polite and pleasant ! And the male staff was funny as well! A gentleman who were acknowledging each guests and a beautiful lady who were there with a nice smile available to offer any help. We felt like they were actually hosting us! Very nice property. Probably picked a bad weekend for it though. Labor Day weekend so, there were lots of kids. So, it was kind of noisy. But otherwise a nice time.

Good location not to far from Niagara Falls or other surrounding towns. Recommend a room with outdoor balcony if you enjoy sitting outside and not in hotel room. Rooftop restaurant/bar nice. Pool warm. Good breakfast. Only thing had to go different floor get ice. Nice facilities and spacious parking.

Front desk guy wasnt very welcoming.

Hotel is nice, till you get to the room… Water dripped outta shower head when trying to use… Contacted the front desk was told they don’t have maintenance at 6pm on a Thursday and it was never looked at… Tried the roof top Bistro horrible food, got pizza and wings took over a hr for our food to come out and was all brought out at different times pizza came out and 15 minutes later 10 wings came out 5 minutes later the rest of the wings came out… While this is a roof top restaurant it was open to the public to sit outside as half of the rooftop area was being replaced… Hotel room had the worse smell of skunk… Breakfast was cold, to the point was not edible… Will never return… Definitely not worth the amount of money that was charged
