Hampton Inn & Suites Richmond/Virginia Center

We checked in for 4 nights. Room was a good size however to sleep 7 it only had 3 beds. Breakfast was just ok. While hot food available the daily menu didnt change much. Not enough seating for being full several nights. Biggest issue was our room was not cleaned during our stay. After day 3 I questioned why it wasnt cleaned. Front Desk said they didnt know but gave fresh towels and more toilet paper. Next morning we left for the day to the amusement park only to come back around 8p to find our room door propped open with the deadbolt by the cleaning crew leaving our room open to the whole hotel all day while we were out. This isn't acceptable. I went down to the front desk and the guy at the desk said no housekeeping was available to speak with and no Mgr either. No resolution or response regarding this huge issue. Besides leaving our room open they didnt even clean it, they took out our dirty towels and trash but didnt vacuum, change sheets make beds etc.

They let us have our goldendoodle, they were quick to accompany us when we asked for a ground floor room. Very nice safe area to walk our dog at night.

Nice hotel, comfy king bed but the toilet side only had one bolt holding it on so it moved slot when you sat on it.

Stayed with family. Property was clean and staff very friendly. Breakfast was really good with multiple choices. Room was clean with nice bathroom and amenities. Property was close to restaurants and shopping. Went to multiple yard sales while visiting this area and people were friendly and inviting. Would definitely stay here again if in area. Only con was no business center available.

The hotel was ideally located and convenient to the interstate. The staff was very friendly and helpful at check in. We were very happy with the room and also the hotel grounds for walking our little dog. Breakfast was also very nice.

We slept well. The room was comfortable and clean. There were ample towels and washcloths. The TV didn't work at first, but staff helped fix it. I think someone who stayed before us had plugged a device into it.

I came to Virginia for my nieces graduation on May 30th. It was four of us . We drove from another state the day before and drove back. All 4 of us stayed in the same room for the night. 1 King size bed and a roll out sofa queen size. Enough space in the room. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee, tea and chocolate

We truly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very clean and well kept and breakfast was very good. Next time we are passing through the Richmond area, we will definitely stay at this hotel again!

It was not great this time. They served chicken sausage that looked bad. The prepared food didn't look good overall. The waffle maker was popular of course. I just had some cereal. It worked, but breakfast was not a highlight.

Our first room smelled like marijuana upon entry. We switched and ended up in a smaller room- beds were not comfortable and the rollaway they brought us was unusable. My son went in the pool/hot tub and woke up with a rash and swollen face. Breakfast was subpar compared to similar hotels. I would not recommend staying here.

The elevator situation

Nice place, recently renovated, rooms were in good condition. Staff were mixed between good and bad. Whoever manages this place likely needs to spend more time with the staff. Front desk specifically. Elevators were terrible. At one point both were out, used the stairs, not a big deal, but annoying they know it’s a problem and just live with it. The staff mentioned it’s been like that for a while. Giving a decent rating as the rooms are what mattered to me for staying one night, but not sure I’d want to be there much longer.

This was not our best hotel stay. Family of four with two adults and two young children. Room size and layout was good. But the hotel was clearly understaffed. We requested housekeeping service and it did not happen during our stay. Elevators were broken (one was broken the entire trip and one worked off and on), trash overflowing. The shower temperature control would not work. My husband had to find a trick where he turned the shower on, and then off until the correct temperature was found. It was clear that staffing was an issue. The young woman at the front desk was kind but she could not overcome the general staffing issue and turnover of the rooms. Elevators did not have their annual inspections shown (last was 2023) which may explain why they were not working.

I booked a one room with 2 queen beds and was told that because I booked with a third party (Expedia)that they didn’t have any rooms available with 2 queens bed instead got a king and a sofa bed. Not what I booked but ok. Our room was next to the ice machine and every time someone used it we would here everything!! Walls must be super thing or something. Barely got any sleep…..

The air conditioning unit was very nosey. The tv we couldn’t get to go to Chanel’s, the bathroom seat is too low for someone that has issues. The pillows are to soft and bed felt slanted to wall that your head was down. The buffer breakfast was good

I love this chain of properties! From the moment you walk in you literally smell all the freshness. The complimentary breakfast was amazing, the beds are so comfy and they even have a heated pool. Definitely will come back here when in town.

Nothing I couldn't wait to get out. The breakfast was cold, no water at all for breakfast or to refill bottle, Not even in the gym, there was a sticking bug pad under the bed full of roaches. The elevator wasn't working. The room was hot and damp. Felt like going into a pool area. It was horrible.

My family and my dogs had a grand time there. If I was to visit again.. it will be this location. Thank you all so much.

We went to use the pool area, but it smelled like mildew and was musty. The hot tub water was kind of brown, and the chart on the wall said the last time the pool was checked was Dec 15- the date of our visit was Jan 30. We talked to the staff, who called management, and they said they do check the water quality everyday, and that the sign was just outdated because they could not remove the previous date. My friend used her finger and was able to rub the ink off... anyway, we did not have great confidence in the water quality of the pool facility.

Staff was nice. The heat was off and unable to be turned in 3 different rooms I asked to be in. There's no night facilities staff. The wear and tear on the rooms is also evident. This property could use some updating, especially being a under the Hilton Marquee.

Breakfast was great with many food options. My kids loved making waffles! The hotel is located close to restaurants and other stores. We all enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The beds were comfortable, and the room was a good size to fit our family of 4. Thanks. We have no complaints.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and truly made the difference from an ok stay to a very good one. The room was clean but the bed linens had some stains. I know they were washed, but it was unpleasant.

Room was spacious but definitely in need of updating and a deeper clean. We had a pile of crumbs that had attracted ants and had to ask for a vacuum to clean it up. The room was also lacking extra bedding for the sofabed. It was a good location, and ok for one quick night stay but I wouldn’t recommend much more.

Bathroom door in our room, 425, hung up. Handle on commode was loose. Most important my wife and I were stuck on the elevator for 20 minutes. Not good!

Maybe by booking through Expedia we were given the worst rooms? Checked in and was given a room the backed up to the laundry room. Asked for a quieter one and was given one next door to the constantly running ice machine. Will not return to this property!! So many options in the area but this hotel seems older, not very clean, and less desirable for sure. Not worth the price.

Was a very clean hotel. But they never serviced our room while there. Had to go ask for toilet paper twice because we had 6 people in a suite. The room was nice and roomy . Couch bed was soft. The cleaning staff not so friendly. Breakfast had lots of options.

We have been going to this hotel for 5 years. We go to the Nascar race. The renovations are great. Staff is always friendly and breakfast is hot and very clean.

The property was under construction with limited parking. Construction continued until eight thirty at night. One of the elevators didn't work at all the other one only worked half the time. The air didn't work in the hallways, the stairwell, or the elevator. This is acceptable, when paying over two hundred dollars a night.

We were there for a weekend. There had been water issues on our side of the hotel earlier in the day and once turned back on we had no hot water. The gentleman at the front desk was excellent and worked to find us a room that had hot water that we could use to shower so we wouldn't have to move everything. This Hampton Inn was wonderful, including great front desk service....Hotels.com however, I will not be using again, because they messed up my reservation and created a huge hassle.

It was wonderful, had trouble with our TV when we got into the room , notify the front desk immediately and they took care of us right away moved us to another room that was a upgrade. Friendly staff and a excellent manager. Highly recommend it.

The room was perfect for the one night stay! We drove from NY to our home in SC and after 9 1/2 hrs of driving, it was a pleasure to come to a clean and friendly place to stay. The whole experience was awesome!!

I’ve stayed several times. There’s been remodeling going on , which has never been problematic. In our most recent visit, we discovered in the morning that we’d been given a room with a non-functioning tub/shower. We were given another room to shower in, but the delay made us late for our morning appointment. It seems like someone would’ve noted the room was not in a rentable condition.

This is our 3rd time staying here. The staff is so friendly. At this time the hotel is under construction but still clean. I can’t wait to see what the renovations look like when completed. We will be back next year for the NASCAR race.

They told me things about the check in process and the restaurants available nearby. They did not, however, mention that they are renovating and the pool is closed. Someone else in my party checked in and found out the pool would not be available. It was far too late at that point for us to find another place to stay that had a working indoor pool. I sent a message to the hotel as soon as i was told about the issue with the pool. They never responded. I sent another message to the parent conpany, Hilton, and requested a response. No one ever got back to me. The room was not nearly nice enough to make up for the lack of promised ammenities and the poor communication from the staff cements that I would not stay there again and would not recommend it to others.

Initial check in was good, however, upon returning from dinner we were told that we would not be able to stay the night as there was a water main break in the hotel, we were informed that there were no other hotel rooms available in the area, and the hotel check in person was unwilling to help us locate a place to spend the night. However , after spending 15 minutes on the phone I was able to secure two rooms within 5 miles of the original hotel. All of this is not what we expected after driving for 12 hours.

I was put in a room that was supposed to be completed of new renovation. it was incomplete and had area that was unsafe. I took pictures.

Seemed like they were doing renovations. So there was a lot of storage trailers consuming parking spaces. So parking was limited.

The only thing that affected the stay was the ststem was down when we went to check in. It took an hour of waiting.

And comfortable. Breakfast is good .

It was in a quiet area, close to shopping but behind a business that had old rusted containers.

Less than clean but an average hotel. Needs massive updating. Staff was super nice and welcoming. Very limited parking. Wall paper was peeling.

Also, thr rooms were booked in my name but the hotel clerk gave my room to someone else in my party without checking for ID.

The only hiccup was the shower water temperature. It was tricky. Besides that; everything else was 5 stars!

Was not aware that it is under renovation. It needs it. Hope the 3rd floor wasn't touched yet as the bathroom in room 215 is terrible. Caulking in tube area is terrible, spout in bathtub is extremely loose and no amount of caulking will solve the possible water penetration into the wall. Peeling wallpaper, toilet seat terrible. Outlets and switches need to be checked. Staff, of what there was, was great. Breakfast set-up was excellent.

Older hotel, under renovation - smells funky, tv kept losing signal, ice machine didn’t work…

12/30/23- hotel is being renovated and it REALLY needs it. Right now, it’s a shabby place with limited parking, drywall dust, and no business center.

Idk why the toilet handles are so tight they seem like you'll break something? Staff always pleasant and helpful, it's my home at hometown, so thanks!

They are remodeling so it is hard not to have some confusion. There was to be breakfast and there were only apples!

I was charged three times for the same night stay. I chose pay at the location and was charged for both my rooms before i even got there.

Everything was fine except for parking. Many spaces are filled with shipping containers because of renovation of the facility.

Otherwise, it was a consistent excellent stay at a Hampton.

The staff was friendly, the room was nice and clean. The bathroom was clean but a bit difficult to maneuver with my disability. There was construction at the hotel and a truck took up one of the handicapped spaces.

The bathrooms need updating but otherwise was clean.

It was an overall good stay not up to the usual Hampton Inn level but the property is doing remodeling.

There were quit a few shipping containers all over the parking lot.

I wish I knew about the renovations ahead of time and the mobile trailers that were occupying the parking lot, made it annoying to park, the breakfast (eggs specifically) tasted bland and despite being there for one night it was fair, I wouldn't go back until after renovations personally speaking.

The property, the service, excellent. Friday 11/4, her shift ended at 3pm. the svc agent did a marvelous job helping me out with all of our arrangements. Surprised my daughter, mission accomplished. The svc agent on Sat 11/5 when i arrived was so pleasant and ready for us. This visit as i said was spectacular!! Many thanks to everone this weekend. Breakfast/good.

Rooms were dingy and falling apart (closet door falling off hinge, wallpaper peeling, door frame loose and seemed unsafe). Also front desk staff tried to bill us twice for the room even though I paid prior to check in on Expedia. Ridiculous.

Hotel is a bit old and in need of a freshen up!

Easy checkin. Clean rooms. Good breakfast.

Very clean and friendly

I normally always try to stay at a Hampton Inn when possible, because I know it’s in good condition and clean, but mostly because the bed and pillows are always so comfortable. This was not the case at this Hampton Inn. This one is not in good shape, the beds and pillows were not comfortable and the linens were definitely not what is the norm at other Hampton Inns.

Great check in but no crib for our baby.

Stay was ok. Breakfast not so much.

Below average cleanliness & very outdated

I will not return to thid Hampton Inn until its redone. Nice staff.

The Service Dask employee was very helpful and nice. She was working by herself and taking someone's shift with beautiful smile and great attitude. :) Ursula

If it was not 11:30 at night would have went to different hotel
