The INN at Gig Harbor

Everything was great except that the elevator wasn’t working and I had to carry my luggage to the 4th floor through the stairs, other than that everything was good. The lady serving the breakfast was very friendly and helpful.

No notice about this issue given until you showed up for registration.

I don't believe $250 for one night here was worth it, we were told the elevator was not working when we checked in. After that we were put in a room on the 4th floor, upon arriving on that floor the smell of Marijuana was all throughout the floor and the bathroom of our room. The rooms as well as the hotel itself are dated, bed was comfortable and when the bathroom sink was turned on air came out then dirty water. I'm sure this hotel was nice in the mid nineties.

Sadly, our experience was not great. When we arrived, they had no elevator, and we all had to log our luggage up of three flights of stairs. The next day, the water was out. It was the worst hotel experience I have had.

The property seemed a little tired.The room was a nice size with big TV. The beds are comfortable. For a short period the hot water was off. The elevator was not working so had to drag bags up to 2nd floor. No sign that repairs were imminent or any explanation of reason. Ice maker removed from our floor. Wasn’t aware that there was no room service so had no in room coffee after the first night.Breakfast options were good and attendant was excellent.The elevator was annoying and for that reason I would check out other options before I stayed there again

When I got back to the hotel, planning to stay the second night, I was informed that the water had become nonfunctional. I had to scramble around to find another hotel for a one-night stay. The elevator was still not working. To ensure getting a refund for the second night, there was a single clerk who was new and he spent considerable time on the phone, ensuring someone else was getting reimbursed for a prepaid stay, while a number of us of stood and waited. Finally a second managerial person came in, and ultimately she helped, but she did not bring her logon credentials, so there was another delay. The less-experienced clerk told her he did not need any help, while steam was coming out of the ears of the people waiting.

We arrived and were told elevator was not working. We had to haul our luggage up three flights of stairs. The next day the water was turned off!!! We left. Be careful booking at this hotel😡

At near midnight we decided that we needed an extra room for comfort with young adult children joining us and the front desk staff got us a second room quickly and smoothly. We really appreciated the last minute addition.

breakfast buffet was friendly but unremarkable - powdered eggs, etc. but that was expected frankly. cleaning staff was helpful and accommodating. shower not working on the last morning -it eventually kicked in, but frustrating... front staff not really informed of local sites or walking maps. overall it was ok, certainly we both got some exercise in stair climbing, but I guess I expected more from other reviews. one more thing, located next to a highway, it was quite noisy at night -did not expect that. might come back, not sure, but will look at other options as well.

Did not know we had to request housekeeping and being there 3 nights we should’ve at least had our garbage removed and towels replaced. Only found out the elevator wasn’t working on the day we arrived but maintenance was very helpful in carry bags up and down the stairs. With guest having to use the stairs, the stairwells should have been cleaned. They were filthy. Too many stairs for someone 88. Same food for breakfast for the three days.

Also nice at the gif harbor inn, the elevator was broke so that was not great. Breakfast is fine. Just happy they have free breakfast option Broken elevator. Only one good mirror is in the bathroom so makes it hard for several people to get ready at once

The elevator was out the four nights I was there. I had the feeling this was not uncommon. Also construction materials left in the hallways downstairs not touched once.

Elevator was out of service on arrival and our room was on the 2nd floor (with 3 flights of stairs to get there). Although a staff member carried our large suitcase up, we trudged along with our other bags (we’re both 78 years old). The hotel was not in good condition and we did not think we could manage the stairs every time we needed to, so we checked out within 30 minutes of our arrival and also cancelled out the following day’s reservation. We were not advised of the elevator situation prior to arrival, nor were we offered any compensation for our prepayment. We would like to know our options for getting a full or even partial refund, as we had to find alternative lodging and prices were very high for this specific weekend. Thanks for your assistance.

The place was clean. The staff were great. Breakfast was on par for similar locations. We were passing through so did not have a chance to explore the area bit it looks great. For the price point we expected a bit more. Plastic disposable cups in the room felt a bit cheap. My wife did not enjoy the 3rd floor walk up three months after hip replacement. I understand elevators break when they break but this made it unlikely we would spend any time or $ in the area because we didn't want to walk up again.

The hotel only has one elevator which broke on one of the days and remained broken for most of the day, although it was fixed on the same day. The gym was decent, space enough for one person at a time, although one set of weights were missing from the rack. Staff at the front desk were helpful whenever I had questions, and the staff at breakfast were friendly even if the actual breakfast wasn't the best, but there was fresh fruit which was nice. Overall a decent place to stay with the room size and the staff, but housekeeping and maintenance could be improved.

I feel even though it was a weekend , There should have been an emergency service to repair the elevator. There was no apology or offer of compensation due to the lack of an elevator. I am 71 and in good shape but my knees were getting sore and I was slightly out of breath every time I reached my floor. The breakfast was a mix of cold scrambled (probably powdered ) eggs, bacon and make your own toast. The English muffins were already stale. You could make your own waffles with some mystery batter. The coffee was not good and the hot water for tea tasted like it had coffee remnants in it. The lobby looked clean and the staff were friendly.

We weren't told ahead of time that the elevators would be out, and when we got there were were put on the 4th floor. So, for both days we had to trudge up and down the stairs all the way to the 4th floor, which was not ideal. The rooms were pretty clean, but there was something sticky on our floor. Overall, it was just okay. The breakfast was okay, the room was okay and the help was okay.

A solid three star hotel. Staff should communicate to guests that maid service only comes every 3 days so as to set expectations. Staff is polite and responsive, aside for the cleaning crew who don't communicate well-- my guess is they're a subcontracting company. Parking is fine, the free breakfast is a 2-star affair but their breakfast concierge is very outgoing.

Elevator was closed the entire weekend and the breakfast was horrendous. I was definitely not expecting a five star breakfast but wow it was nasty! Stale bagels and stale English muffins and the eggs were so pale and watery.

Elevator was down three out of the four days I was there. The refrigerator in the room froze. All the food I bought. Breakfast was mediocre.

The breakfast was mediocre, lots of empty or barely there choices with over 30 minutes left to go in the early end time, 9 am. Late arrivals may not like the early 6-9 slot for the breakfast. The coffee was not good at all! I would stay again, but just plan on breakfast elsewhere. It may be different on the weekend but during the week, blah.

I love staying here. All the staff are very friendly all of them love my dogs and they lo e them. Great parking and the breakfast is really good and the kitchen lady is the best always willing to make you something.

The hotel did not live up to the 10's that we had seen in reviews prior to booking our room. Our room overlooked the freeway and freeway noise was very loud in our room making it difficult to relax or sleep. While our room had a bathtub, there was no drain stopper. We were told they were on order for the entire hotel. I had to stuff a plastic bag in the drain. The hotel breakfast was mediocre. The eggs were very watery both days. To top it off, the elevator was out of order during our stay. On the plus side, the ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful as was the woman working the breakfast buffet the first day. We were supposed to stay 4 nights and cut our visit short. I hope this is a transition phase for the Inn and that things improve although I don't think there's an answer to the freeway noise.

Mei Mei, in the breakfast room, was very helpful and welcoming! Isabel at the Front Desk was personable, professional, and knowledgeable.

Our only issue was the internet connectivity was bad. Our phones and laptops kept locking up and glitching. We have newer phones, xfinity service and newer laptops which are up to date so the issues were not in our end. If your at this hotel with important internet connectivity requirements you may want to consider this.

This is my go-to hotel/motel when I travel to Gig Harbor. Reasonable rates (remember this is the Seattle-Tacoma area) and an overall excellent facility.

Older hotel but nicely updated

Once again the staff at the Inn at Gig Harbour were excellent. The room was very clean and plenty of amenities. The breakfast was delicious.

We like the location of this hotel and it’s always just what we expect and need when we visit Gig Harbor, which ends up being at least a few times a year, so we’re planning a return soon.

The staff was great, the hotel is very plain. This property really needs a renovation, poorly decorated. The inside windows were dirty, the bathroom tub stopper was unscrewed and laying on the outside edge. Clean, friendly, but needs more "care"! Attention

With moving across the country and then remodeling the new house Inn at Gig Harbor was our go to hotel.

Pros: The night staff were friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff did come in to clean quickly after we had requested. Cons: The breakfast and coffee was pretty horrible. We ended up having to buy our own coffee and breakfast somewhere else. They are pretty old school when it comes to the tv…. Usually we are able to sign in to our Netflix, Hulu and so on at other hotels. We weren’t able to do so here, which was a disappointment. There’s no room service which was an inconvenience. The elevator was down and no one notified us or other hotel guest. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Clean room and comfortable beds. Good hot breakfast. Good location. Only issue with stay was after coming down for breakfast, elevator was down for maintenance without any notice. My 91 year old parents had to do the stairs back up to the room and then down. I did a number of trips to bring down our belongings. Staff did offer to help but more notice should have been give and signs on all floors that elevator was down.

However, the inside of the bathroom door was filthy. Mentioned it twice. The bed by the door was too close to the wall which make it difficult to get in on that side. Also, the window above that bed blocked neither light nor sound- loud freeway noise directly above your head and had metal mini blinds instead of room-darkening shades. Just board up that cheap window and cover it with a picture! I tried pillows, but they didn't work.

I had a great stay at the Inn. Super friendly staff makes you feel at home. The room is always clean and the breakfast is always good.

The guest room itself was clean and very spacious, with large windows that made it feel even more open. The TV was a great size with good sound. The toiletries and shower setup were pretty basic, but the water pressure and temperature were excellent, especially appreciated after a 30+ hour drive. The bed and furniture were comfortable and felt clean. Parking was ample and extremely well lit at night, which made things feel safe and convenient. Breakfast does require you to be up early since the hours are limited, so sleeping in means missing out. That said, there were plenty of options available. I was a bit disappointed with the eggs, both the scrambled and hard boiled were sitting in water, which wasn’t very appealing. Oddly enough, the orange juice was a highlight, and it was nice to see both a waffle maker and a pancake maker available. Staff interaction overall was limited but pleasant. A special shout out and thank you to Faye at the front desk, Julie at the breakfast station, and the gentleman in housekeeping for their kindness and help.

The area was close to waterfront restaurants. The bathroom shower had handrails and hand spray nozzles which is great for the elderly.

I booked based on the reviews & was disappointed. They spoke of how welcoming it was & our arrival was pretty uneventful. I stood at the front desk for about 5 min watching a young man put away water. Finally I asked him if anyone was back there. He then came up to the desk & said he was it. The breakfast was also received high reviews & it was very disappointing. Instant oatmeal, eggs were watery, yogurt was super sweet & little fresh fruit. It was a 2 star hotel & would have been acceptable if I paid $75. Wasn’t terrible but wasn’t anything special.

Very nice hotel and good breakfast. Attention needed to the plumbing. When the guest in the room above me flushed the toilet, the toilet in our bathroom did a big, noisy air evacuation which effectively flushed our toilet. And dogs barking in the hall was disturbing.

The first room we were given was blowing cold air. It was freezing. The sofa in that room was threadbare. We found items from other people under the bed and nightstand. We were moved to a second room that had heat, but we couldn't bring the temp lower than 80. It was a miserable night.

Totally enjoyed staying here a couple nights. The breakfast that were included with the room were very good. The staff, Mai Mai, who covered the eating area was super nice and made sure you had everything you needed. The Inn was really easy to find and close to shopping and an awesome movie theater.

The room was fine. Breakfast could have been better. Eggs cooked to order would be welcomed instead of the pan of overcooked scrambled eggs. The coffee was cold and they ran out of black tea, with a Fred Meyer across the street.

The vent fan in the bathroom sounded like a jet engine and you couldn't just turn a separate light on- it was connected to the vent fan. It is very thoughtful to offer fresh baked cookies, but It would be nice to offer gluten-free options. Staff and service was great, especially in the breakfast room.

Lots of highway noise. Dilapidated, uncomfortable furniture in the seating area. Bed was comfortable. Staff was sweet. Parking lot messy with fallen leaves, which would have fallen some time ago. Breakfast was tasty, but served on thin paper plates with wimpy plastic cutlery—an ecological nightmare, and not pleasant to eat with.

Nice room, nice little town. Found a great Mexican restaurant and a cool coffee shop. A bit out of my way but fun to explore away from SeaTac.

The staff here are nothing short of pure bliss. I've been here for quite a while now visiting from out of town and they've made my state very comfortable and just very good peopl. Happy to be here but over the moon to return to the sunshine soon.

Great decor for the holidays. Breakfast buffet well above average. Friendly staff and such lovely touches in the main lobby, including ice water dispenser with citrus and cucumbers and a hot beverage bar, stocked round the clock. Location was amazing and right across the street from the lighted display and all the major shops and restaurants. Definitely would stay here again!

My reservation says standard room but was given a handicap room, not what I booked. Wouldn’t change with anyone else.

We’ve stayed at many 4 & 5 star resorts both domestic and international and I must say, this property is by far one of the cleanest I’ve experienced! Parking is free and easy to access. Breakfast was complimentary and I loved the automatic pancake maker! This hotel is a hidden gem for sure! I’m sure we’ll be back!

Moved to the SECOND room the next night that was on the other side.Though much quieter, the heater didnt work. So, the THIRD room the heater wouldn't turn off. Had to unplug it.

It was a really nice hotel and they upgraded us to the King suite which was unexpected and so kind. The lady at the front desk made fresh cookies as we were walking in and you could tell she truly cares about her job and making sure the guests have everything they need. Room was very clean and it was quiet at night. Highly recommend!

While I was searching for a room for my visit with my sons who live in the area, there were regular rooms that were $300+ dollars. I ended up getting a suite with two king size beds, a fireplace, and a walk-in closet for half that amount. Felt sort of silly using such a big room for just myself, but there would’ve been no way I would pay that kind of money for a night at the Inn at Gig Harbor. It is a decent hotel with friendly staff and the airport shuttle picking up and dropping off, but I feel like it’s time for an upgrade in a lot of areas. New carpeting is needed, fresh coats of paint throughout, and I think a redo for the lobby and breakfast area. I do feel like the hotel is clean and that is critically important.

Faye is amazing

We were warmly greeted in the checkout check-in process was super easy. The building itself looks like it’s in great condition and actually has a pretty good location. There’s a neat Irish pub across the street which unfortunately I didn’t get to visit as well as a cidery basically in the parking lot. My major complaint simply comes from the bed. It was terribly uncomfortable and I did not sleep well at all. Being as that’s a primary reason for staying at a hotel that’s why I’m rating it lower. I would trade the warm breakfast and the warm cookies for a nice bed.

There was a constant clanging all night long from the heating system. I didn’t get any sleep for two nights. The hotel did nothing to write the situation with me so I may not be staying there again.

Room was spotless. Staff was lovely. Only drawback was no nightlights to guide to the bathroom after dark. Only one light in the bathroom and it is directly connected to bathroom FAN. So if you leave the bathroom light on with door ajar to provide a lighted pathway THE FAN RUNS ALL NIGHT.

We love the Inn at Gig Harbor. My son lives there and I stay there every visit. Staff is friendly and the beds are so comfy. It’s in a safe location too. The fresh baked cookies at the end of the night are a nice touch for sure.

The whole place seemed a little dark and dismal, especially in the lobby with the big gas fireplace never operating. What used to be a bar in a restaurant has been turned into a breakfast room, and all of the foods were very subpar. Although the personnel that work down, there was very friendly. There was also a girl at the front desk on my third night there who helped me by bringing me some extra towels after hours and some soap for the laundry when I couldn’t come downstairs myself to get it.

Pretty dated. Bed was not comfortable. Receptionist seemed like she hated her job. And my husband and I both came home with a rash after staying here for two days.

The staff was wonderful. Kind and friendly folks from front desk to breakfast attendant to cleaning team members - all shifts. The room was not in good condition though- dog hair visible on the carpet, a smoke detector hanging from the ceiling and a very sagging work out sofa. We don’t think we got the room we booked as it was quite different from the pictures and descriptions but perhaps it was because we didn’t arrive until quite late? Still some repairs and thorough cleaning as well as some furniture replacement could have greatly improved this.

The room was very large, but it was not fully cleaned. There was a pair of bunched panties in the corner of the bedroom. Someone came up promptly and removed them but, it made me wonder what else was not cleaned before we checked in. It is a very convenient location.

We stayed during a horrible storm. Thousands without power. The hotel last power for a bit and water overnight totally NOT there fault. They handled the situation with the utmost professionalism and courtesy. Hotel staff offered bottle water for hygiene (i.e. washing hands).

Because this property was booked with Expedia, could not get a printed receipt from reception. Was told Expedia would send that out. Call Expedia and that was news to them. Only the hotel has the actual paid receipt, and the hotel would have those records anyway. Tried more than once with this property to get a receipt which proves the details of our stay. Now to get reimbursed without a valid hotel receipt?

The property was nice and clean. At check in there was a sign to call for the staff to be called up front. I could hear a staff member on speaker phone speaking obscenities to someone else. When I called they asked what do you want. I said I’m checking in. She then proceeded to grab a check in paper (I’m guessing I was the last one to show up at 9:30pm) and slammed it rather aggressively onto the desk and said fill this out. I really dislike writing negative reviews as someone who also works in customer service, but you really can’t be that blatant despite what you may have going on.

We’ve stayed at The Inn at Gig Harbor several times this summer as we visited a sick family member. It is so convenient and pleasant, I can’t imagine being satisfied staying anywhere else when we come to the area. The rooms are large and comfortable and they are well decorated. The staff is very personable and the Fred breakfast is great! We also love the Airport shuttle that runs every hour and drops you just where you want to be. We used to stay in Tacoma but weren’t nearly as happy. This is now our go-to spot!

I let the staff know via text. They responded 20 hours later saying “we will have maintenance look at it. Thanks for letting us know.” Extremely disappointed with the complete disregard with my experience.

However, they only have cleaning services every 3rd day and we were only there for 4 days so never received fresh towels, coffee pods for each day,etc. Only given 1 roll of TP and coffee supplies for one day. A little frustrating. I probably will look elsewhere next time in Gig Harbor. I don’t want to have to chase this stuff down.

There was only Room Service if 3 day stay which was not disclosed at time of Booking. $300 Pending Hold was on our VISA for 5 days after our stay, in addition to the Actual $500+ Fee charge paid on the first day.

Got a separate sleeping room, got a living room, and an office area. No TV the 300 sf living area but there was a large TV in the sleeping area- makes no sense. Cutting back on personnel makes it impossible to lodge a complaint that might actually resolve an issue. Too bad, doesn’t have to like that. Also, should just stop breakfasts all together. Bad food is bad food, even if it’s free - not worth the after-taste.

My room was not made up even though I left after breakfast. Disappointed

We have family in Gig Harbor and we’ve always stayed in Tacoma for lower prices and never considered The Inn at Gig Harbor because we assumed it would be much pricier. Now that we’ve “discovered” it, we won’t be staying anywhere else. When you factor in the bridge toll and the traffic, time, and convenience, The Inn is the best choice. P.S. I love the comfy beds!

We enjoyed our stay here. We stayed so we could go to the Tacoma dome. There was a toll for the bridge toward Tacoma, but it was worth staying on this side. We also enjoyed the near by gig harbor. The staff were very helpful and nice. The beds were comfortable.

When I checked in to my room, there was food left in the refrigerator by the previous guest as well as some clothing in the drawers. The room didn’t seem outwardly unclean but the lack of detail by housekeeping made me seriously question the cleanliness. Staff was friendly and attentive in the common areas but didn’t seem overly concerned about my issues. Also, on Monday morning the garbage is picked up outside the front of the building and it was very very loud before 6 am. Lots of beeping, crashing and backing up! I think I’ll pick a different option for my next trip.

Arrived at the property later in the evening, and apparently a local concert had just let out. There was a line of 5-6 parties waiting to check in, however staff was quick, friendly and efficient in getting everyone in their rooms. Clean, spacious room with a very nice breakfast buffet, will most definitely be back!

The only downside was we were there Thursday to Monday and housekeeping never tidied up our room. Otherwise, very excellent.

We were pleased with our stay at the Inn at Gig Harbor. The room was clean and comfortable and a nice breakfast buffet was offered. What really stood out, however, was the woman working the front desk. She had a long line of guests to check in, was also in charge of answering the phone, and had other responsibilities for the afternoon and evening, and she handled it all in the most pleasant and patient manner I think I've ever seen by hotel staff. Her ability to juggle so many things efficiently, all while remaining calm and friendly, was exemplary.

Overall this is an excellent place to stay. Only complaint was the breakfast. Coffee was hot but way to strong, even for me who drinks very strong coffee. The scrambled eggs were very bland ( you could tell they were a powder mix), the potatoes were dry and flavorless. Sausage was good, fresh fruits were good. They had make your own pancakes and waffles as well as toast which I did not try. Overall I would stay here again but maybe pass on breakfast.
