Lady at the front desk the first night we arrived was very helpful and amazing also the woman who came in to work morning shift was absolutely amazing and helpful beyond words.

I like the quietness of the room and now the pool is open plus the front desk receptionists are the greatest.

It was nice other than its supposed to be a no smoking hotel but got everyone smoking weed and cigarettes and the halls and rooms smelled like it

The bathroom shower head that came off in my hand from poor maintenance and it had zero water pressure in no ice bags for the ice bucket or any way to get any or cups and the washing machines and dryers did not work tried to take my money to try to give me a headache about refunding it they left a broke lamp in my room with the cord was cut off the lamp in room that was supposed to be able to use the Lightroom so how you going to do with no cord

Over all the room was okay, the A/C did not work well. The rooms smelled liked people have been smoking weed all up and down the hall.

The new owners have done a great job in renovations. Beds were comfortable, rooms were reasonable, close to gas station and Dunkin’ Donuts. Pool was officially opened. Still no continental breakfast but for the price of the rooms it was okay.

Easy on off from I-85. Room was about what you would expect. Good value but nothing out of the park. Slight damage in room but seemed clean enough.

Door was a little sticky but the AC worked well and the staff was absolutely wonderful!!!

This a old hotel, but very clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. No breakfast is offered but the Pancake House across the parking serves a great breakfast. The low price makes this an excellent choice.

In the bathroom shower on the ceiling above the shower head it was black mold. Also the lamp shade was broken.

To statrt, ill say when we pulled in, we were second guessing staying there. There were some homeless around and it looked like it was going to be in a sketchy location, but that was just the initial vibe. Decided to check in since couldn't cancel. Front desk staff was great,day and night shifts. Once checked in and seen the actual parking lot, felt better about staying. The room was clean, just a basic room, hot water was great, ac was cold. There were a couple homeless around asking for things, but hey they are humans too. The only downside was the smell of weed in the hall one night, and the key quit working, but was reset quickly. There is a $100 check in deposit, for smoking in the rooms so that matly be a regular issue. One thing i wish Red Roof would do away with, is the metal or whatever around the bed that pops, second one ive stayed in that had it. So, want a cheap stay and you aint bougee, give it a shot. If you are, these hotels aint your style anyway

The Laundry room had human feces in it for three days.one of the staff from the front desk was rude but was accommodating the homeless instead of hos guests.everyone else was very nice

Air didn’t turn on at all, the bathtub was stained and gross, the shower head was loose, tv didn’t turn on, no shampoo/conditioner or soap in dispensers, and I don’t think the room had been vacuumed in… well.. idk. Oh and the fridge didn’t work. Thank goodness I just needed a place to sleep for the night.

I recommend you to keep driving and pass this property by. The only bright spot in the whole place was the actual lobby where you checked in looked great. The night desk clerk was awesome she's a wonderful person, But that doesn't make up for all of the other issues that the room had. Pay a little extra and go up the road to the Holiday Inn or the motel 6. You'll be glad you did.

Yes the tv remote didn't work and the phone didn't work as well i had to use my own phone to call front desk the front deck staff( Malinda)was so lazy and rude i was told to program the remote myself by googling the codes on my phone and if that didn't work just use the buttons on the tv I informed her that the buttons where missing and that i paid my money for the room and for the tv to work i ask her if it was her in my shoes what would she do her response was i dont watch tv so i dont care.

Best motel I used booking.com for my reservations.

The price and location Cleaning no good and attending at reception, the staff said me that couldn’t give a receipt about my check out of the reservation and after would go send me for email and yet o didn’t receive it

The shower had very low pressure, and neighbors were loud smoking marijuana outside my door .

It was cheaper and convenient. Much if the stay if not all of it. The room felt dirty and stuffy, no proper ventilation. The hotel didn't seem properly managed in terms of the properties very apparent wear and tear. The pictures online looked much nicer than what it actually was. Pool was nasty and unclean, carpeted floors felt crunchy and held an unpleasant odor, the keycard to get into the room stopped working twice, prompting me to have to get it redone. Shower didn't work properly and was rusted, toilet wasn't properly sealed to the floor and wobbled when sat on. Balcony door didn't open properly and if opened, couldn't be closed.

Seemed like the linens were mostly clean. And staff was very nice. My room was not clean. I found trash all over the room. The lamp had no shade. The Shade was torn and hid under a desk. The bottom lock on the door leading to a side room did not lock so a lamp was placed in front of the door to sit in place. The toilet was not screwed down to the floor and leaked out the bottom. The shower was dirty and the water would not drain. There was a purple little trees air freshener hanging from the sink as an air freshener. There was toilet paper shoved under the sink looking to stop a leak. The shampoo/lotion was open and used. The toilet paper was open and used. The bed frame clearly was not whipped down. Horrible overall experience of cleanliness. I would love a refund because this was unacceptable. The pool area looked to be trashed as well.

I didn’t like anything. We left the next day around 7 am turned in the keys but they refuse to give us a refund. Toilet got clogged and there was no plunger to be found. Breakfast is included it says but there was no breakfast. Do not recommend this facility to anyone don’t waste your money.

Guest services was understanding but this room should have never been allowed to be rented. The security latch was broken, the heater didn't work, and the smoke detector started going off with a dead battery at 6:00 a.m.

The staff was friendly, all 3 rooms were clean, we received housekeeping for both nights of our stay and there were a lot of amenities nearby. I would definitely stay here again. The only downside is the website says they offer breakfast, but they do not.

I had 2 rooms. One for me and one for my sister. I decided to keep my room but my sister refused to stay there so i had to get her another room elsewhere. And they would not refund any of my money. Her room smelled like urine, and the sink was broken. There was no water pressure in the shower in my room, and it smelled like marijuana and cigarettes.

All of the front desk personnel were great @their jobs. I really can't complain about anything.

I didn't notice any bugs roaming my room. The bed sheets and pillows were clean. Nobody messed with my car (I parked near an entrance with a camera) For the money it wasn't too bad.

As soon as we got out of the car we smelled marijuana. Walk to our room the door was open we pushed it open more the beds were not made we turned around to walk out three ladies walked into the room from behind us. We went back to the office to tell them that the room was occupied. We could tell the clerk was not sure what was going on with that room but she gave us another room. We almost canceled because of the marijuana smell and the riff Raff that was around. We realized that there were people staying there weeks at a time. No wonder they didn't serve breakfast or coffee because those people probably took advantage of that. We went to church and did our service on Friday night, came back to the room lock the door and tried to sleep. This morning we got up packed and was walking to her car as soon as we opened our hotel door we smelled marijuana again. Not a good place to stay maybe when you get all of the remodeling done you'll have better quality people staying there. The pool is a disaster it's not like it show in the picture. We will not stay there ever again sorry for the bad review but you deserve it

This hotel needs to be shut down they have changed their name over three times. At first it was Days Inn then Quality Inn now Chester Inn. The rooms was infested with fleas. This hotel was not safe for my children and I.

Cleanliness was below average. Gnats in room, cigarette holes in comforter and overall a nasty room. I didn’t even feel comfortable sleeping in the bed so I turned my key in & left!!!

So when you walk in to a hotel, and what looks like the main entrance is not, you have a problem. No breakfast, no pool, this property should be a one star and cater to the people that have no homes.

People were nice. Key worked but had to use my shoulder to open as it was stuck. Water pressure low but water hot. Nice accessible shower. Humidity in room high so we used our dehumidifier. Pool was green.

Day 1 of stay…..turned down blanket to reveal bloody sheets. It was 11:30 pm so we accepted a room change and it appeared to be clean. Day 2 no service to room. Towels, soap, washcloths weren’t replaced and room was not cleaned. Both days we were with an ill family member and did not arrive at hotel till near midnight. So stayed that night and cancelled the last day and came home.

If you want coffee you can tell her and she will make it for you. We had a shower where the water went onto the bathroom floor. Three small pillows. Bed was comfortable and did have a tv. Pool was green so couldn’t swim. Location is good which is next to Highway. Rooms are inexpensive so if looking just to lay your head it’s good for the price.

Hotel is extremely run down. I wasn't sure I had the right place because it DOES NOT look like the website pictures. Booked the hotel because of breakfast and was told that breakfast would not be served. Room was decent.

While the room was ok seemed clean enough and the bed was comfortable. Plenty of water pressure and hot water but the shower drain was clogged so water did not drain well from the tub. There is no breakfast offered so Expedia needs to remove that from the listing. The lobby seemed nice from the window but was unable to go inside during check in I assume due to crime the doors were locked and there was a glass bank type window to check in with the front desk. People seemed to be living at this hotel long term vs just a quick stay. People were up all hours of the night outside smoking and doing who knows what coming and going. Was noisy and the sliding glass doors to the rooms did not seem the be the most secure with just a little hardware store hinge lock added on since the primary door lock was broken. There was also the main door to the room which the primary lock did work. Seemed not to be the safest area of town. Back in the day was probably a nice hotel with the courtyard and pool area but really needs some major updates along with security to monitor and run off people coming and going all hours of the night probably dealing etc. Would not recommend due to sketchy area and folks staying there.

Choice Hotels has been a huge disappointment. After three bad stays at different properties, I’m done with this chain.

The property is undergoing renovations. The rooms were nice but since the roof is under construction my first room leaked a small stream through the fan vent in the bathroom. Which I figured out at 3am while it was pouring rain (which is why there was a leak). I had to go to the office in the pouring rain to get a new room key, then drive around to the new room. Both rooms were nice, just changing in the middle of the night in the rain was inconvenient. The staff was exceptionally helpful and made the actual room transfer easy. I’m not sure if I would stay there again until the renovation is finished, but the staff were great, and the rooms were clean.

bed was clean and comfortable. Otherwise this place was horrid! room was not at all what advertisement said. Outdoor door was screwed shut. bathroom was so dirty I would not even think about showering...do you ever clean the shower/tub?? no coffee pot in room and no breakfast of any kind. This room was barely a place to put your head to sleep. Overall this stay was disgusting!

The room was clean, the bathroom could have been cleaner, the bed were comfy, the neighborhood was sketchy and a lot of homeless people walking around. I was nervous to leave my car. The staff was polite!

Customer service was very poor. Front desk service was extremely rude and unprofessional. Drug addicts was allowed to enter my room to dump our garbage. Addicts were sleeping in the stairwells and present around the hotel day and night. The rooms and the hallways had an unpleasant stinge. I reserve 2 queen and was give standard beds. No breakfast was served per reception.

We did not check in because of some activities that was going on.

I got enjoyable sleep, and it was just what i needed.

Hotel needs to update its sheets cig holes in them (non smoking hotel now ) but old sheets. They are nice but breakfast was not available and was told when i booked they had it. Parts of hotel just need updating badly ! Still my stay was good !

If I could give this ZERO STARS, I would. Everything was broken, black mold everywhere, the pool was green and something was growing in it. The doors wouldn’t shut completely. It’s smelled awful and the air conditioner wasn’t hooked up and was laying on the floor.

The room and FRONT of hotel itself looked, on surface, much more cleaner than the Days Inn we stayed at in Virginia. The front desk employees were nice. They have to be aware of the sketchy people on the hotel property. Not worth the $100+ per night. Also be prepared to pay $100 deposit (cash is best).

The room itself was a good size and cleaned to a moderate standard. The bathroom was functional, although the toilet flush buttons were slightly challenging to access because there was limited space between worktop of a toilet flush. One key thing to note is that the walls are very thin so you can hear activity in neighbouring rooms. This was very disruptive during our stay. The area itself is also not very welcoming - people hanging around the parking lot and close to the accommodation. The location might seem suitable for travel to/from Charlotte but given the negatives (noisy, poor service etc.) I would not recommend staying here.

This property is a need of a major remodel and is one of the worst that I’ve ever visited. In my room, the baseboards were missing, there were signs of extensive wear and tear and there was signs of mold around the area where the room air-conditioning and heating unit is located. The floors had paint splotches and other dark spots of unknown origin. The furniture had many chips and scratch marks. The website pictures are misleading, and in no way, reflect the current condition of the property. Also, they do not serve the free breakfast as advertised in the listing.The person who checked me in was courteous.

Dirty and unsafe, I didnt stay and never got a refund

Well, there was an odor, not awful. But a smell nonetheless. Then my wife slipped on the floor and busted her eye, now it looks like I beat her. Lol. The floor is slick on the bathroom, so y’all be careful. Not a bad place, but not a place I’d bring my kid.

The hotel was in average condition but I'm aggraated at the fact the websitecshowed free breakfast and when we arrived,there was no breakfast. The pool was closed too. The room was decent and comfortable but there were hairs in the bathroom in the sink and tub, with hardly any toilet paper. When we went to the front desk for toilet paper, he said we had to wait for housekeeping to come around.

We were overcharged for a day and all the pictures are a lie in general a scam also no breakfast and all the facilities are horrible.

The hotel is in a high crime and drug area. Bath tub spout was coming off the wall. Property is on poor repair

I was charged twice for my stay. Once on my debit card through hotels.com and then again at the hotel. The hotel claimed I had not paid, yet the money was taken out of my accoun+.

Well, upon arriving to our room we were greeted by a domestic altercation. The arguing in the hallway continued on for at least another hour. The room was pretty gross with candy wrappers stuck on the wall, roaches, and just general grime built up on the bathroom floors, the walls, etc…. It definitely was “you get what you pay for” but I think perhaps $100 was still a bit overpriced.

I had a whole family move into my room thankfully nothing got stolen but it could have gotten bad.. no one took a report about it

A dog started barking at 2:00am and didn’t stop until after 3:00am. Neighbors started having cc a yelling match at 3:30 and didn’t stop.

Loud music and smoking (not cigarettes, the other kind) going on outside my window. It stopped at midnight.

When i first Walk in,boom the roaches welcome me into my room and told me that they will be having what ever im eating or drinking..!!!

How could this place get an 8+ rating? Someone had taken a #2 in the toilet that was barely flushed. No breakfast (night duty didn't put it out, and no milk?!), people who are scary living in the rooms full time. Never again. They take a $100 deposit. will I get it back?

The pictures don’t match the actually condition of the hotel. Looks like they took pictures when it first opened or shortly after.. Room is decent not horrible. But the rooms are musty even in the non smoking room. You can hear everything around you because of the doors being beat up and having cracks,, overall it’s not bad for the price but don’t be expecting it to look like the pictures..

The pictures are definitely not what the full property looks like. It’s in a very sketchy area that did not feel completely safe. On top of that our balcony door was left slightly open which added to the feeling of being unsafe. It wasn’t dirty but didn’t exactly feel clean. People were in and out of the building at all hours and the door to the outside was loud when closing. I wouldn’t recommend staying here overall until some of the construction is cleared up and some more upgrades have been done to rooms. The staff was very nice so that’s a plus.

The door to my room looked like it had been broken into before and seemed very insecure. Breakfast was very disappointing in that all that was available was: coffee, waffles and toast. No jelly, no cream for the coffee, no milk to drink with the waffle, no knives to cut the waffle, no other food choices. The desk clerk said the owner was in Las Vegas at a conference and hadn't ordered enough breakfast supplies.

The price is good. Contonential seemed lacking. Microwave wasn't working properly. My door wasn't secure. The striker plate which holds it shut was missing. The only thing keeping it closed was the trim of the frame. I'd reported it and even have pictures but nothing was done to secure my room.

This hotel had so many problems. I don’t know if I can fit it all here. First, I was told that even though it’s advertised that there is free breakfast there is no breakfast. Then I got my key, went to my room & the room was a dump. Then I noticed that the balcony door was open, but locked. there was a big gap. I tried desperately to close it & couldn’t. The desk person came up (who was very nice) & got it to close, but then it wouldn’t lock & I was told don’t worry it’s very safe & no one can get on the balcony. then I saw that the front door has the bottom lock, but the safety latch was broken and when you open the door, it went right past the latch. There were gnats in the sink & spiderwebs on the ceiling. In the morning, they ended up having breakfast, but what they had was cereal, but no milk, bread & English muffins, but no butter. And the waffles that we cooked twice in the griddle, and they still weren’t cooked all the way, possibly because it was almost pure water. we were told that we could not get a refund because we booked through Expedia I spoke with Expedia and they tried to offer me $20 to stay there and risk my life. This property has a rating of seven point something with Expedia but only a two point something with Google maps which would make it about a four point something out of 10 the Google maps one is more accurate. That hotel is not a seven point anything ever even on its best daythe pool had green swampy water and there were residents as well as guest

When we arrived they gave us a card for a room where they were people already there, and when they move us to a new room the door was broken, the balcony was under construction because the celing fell and they were mouse traps in the room. We left the next day in the morning. We couldn't finished oir stay because of the awful conditions of this place.
