    Hotel was clean and convenient, right off hwy. Asked for a room that was not facing the hwy so it would be quieter. Very comfortable mattress/bed. Exactly what we needed for a stop during a cross country trip.

    The biggest issue was the noise. The walls are extremely thin — while getting ready, I could clearly hear a woman’s entire conversation in the bathroom next door. You can also hear everyone walking and talking in the hallways. To make matters worse, someone above us (I’m assuming a child) was jumping and stomping for nearly two hours at night and then started again before 6 AM, waking me up. It was very difficult to get any rest. Overall, the noise level and location made this a disappointing experience. Staff was nice and helpful.

    Bed was comfortable. Food was well presented. The cleaning staff was very responsive. The front desk staff was not as responsive or friendly. Road noise in our first room forced us to change rooms. Our second room had a broken dresser that could have been fixed with a couple of screws, but was never fixed (they offered to move us, but we didn't want to move again). Air conditioning would cause the room to go from too hot to too cold during the night. Entry and exit to the hotel was awkward requiring a U-turn if you were getting off I-85 from the east followed by a sharp right turn then an immediate left turn to get to the hotel.

    There was a car in the parking lot that was full trash bags . I tried to contact Hotel.com to tell them about my concerns and didn't get any help. The AI CHAT was not helpful and I couldn't get a number for support. So I made a reservation form Holiday Inn. Belmont. I wish there was someone to talk to about my concerns.

    We liked the friendliness of the front desk staff and breakfast personnel. We liked the closeness to the Separk Mansion (7 minutes away). We stayed three nights. Service (towels, coffee pods refill, etc.) was not done. The last night we had to go to the front desk to request towels ourselves. They only had two pool towels available. We usually tip the maids well, but we couldn’t this time.

    The hotel did not live up to its reviews. It was a much older place than it appeared. It also had its own nastiness. In the elevator, there was a sticky substance on the floor, and instead of cleaning it up, they put a slippery when wet sign in the elevator over the handrail. My room was just okay, minus the two large stink bugs I had to remove. The bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom had nowhere to hang anything. The fixtures were old and not nice. There was also no closet in the King Bedroom anywhere. Just a few coat hooks. I was not impressed at all. I would not stay there again.

    The coffee was so fresh and tasty, and although we didn't eat the breakfast, we witnessed how everything was freshly prepared, hot, and ready! The front desk workers were extremely professional, courteous, and pleasantly enjoyable in conversations and hospitality! The lighting in the bathroom is immaculate! The floor in the bathroom was not swept or mopped, the toilet is very low, outdated, and not very clean, and the carpet was stained and, according to my son, smelly everytime he tried to get down and play on it.

    Overall I loved the room& as far as cleanliness was for the most part good. The staff ( Ms. SANDRA) was very professional & nice. 2 minor issues in my opinion:#1 water in shower could have been hotter.( my favorite part of hotels are the HOT showers)& breakfast wasn't good. But I would most definitely stay here again

    My son forgot his phone in the room and the man at the front desk yelled at him and on a previous stay he didn’t want to sell me any snacks but did sell them to my husband 20 minutes later. Everyone else except this man is great but because of him we will not be back and have cancelled future reservations. We had no air conditioning and no other room available for myself and my kids.

    No hot water for the showers at night nor in the morning. Lukewarm at best. No TV remote in room. One we got from the front desk would not turn off the television. In a room right by the elevator so awakened by the noise from that all night long. Evening shift front desk, Sandy, extremely rude. Came across that I was bothering her when asking questions. Will never stay here again.

    Probably one of the best choices for the area because the pickings are slim! Location is Convenient from highway and a fine overnight stay with comfortable beds. We did grab breakfast on the way out the next morning and there was eggs, sausage, biscuit and gravy and yogurt plus the usual continental breakfast options. It’s not a destination, but okay if passing through. Indoor pool was reported by kids as being good.

    Hotel was nice and clean; the staff was friendly. My only complaint... I've stayed at a lot of hotels this was the only time I have heard people staying on the floor above me stomping while I was trying to sleep. I saw a sign that they were doing renovations, but one of the staff members told me renovations were done.

    Housekeeping was the worst I have ever experienced! They did not replace toilet paper and there was none left! They did not replace towels, washcloths coffee pods, packets for the sugar and creamer. They did not make the beds, remove trash and if they did not do all of this I seriously doubt they cleaned anything. The only thing they did do was remove the wet towels from the floor. However the one lady at the front desk and sorry I cannot remember her name was just excellent. She was more than accommodating and friendly. Very engaging with her customers and would go above and beyond to get you what you needed.

    Stayed there this past the weekend. Visiting family in the area for the first time. Can’t say enough about the staff. Amazing service! Courteous, attentive, ridiculously friendly, just an over the top team in general. The only blemish of our stay was an overnight spree of car break-ins in which we fell victims to. 8 total car broken into Sunday morning. Just wish the hotel could do more to prevent/detract these things from happening. Provide a bit more assurance to paying customers in terms safety, and their well being while being guests at their establishment. I understand crime happens everywhere, but hotel chains like these should take minor steps to deter/prevent things like this from happening. Maybe increasing security a bit. It’s frustrating. Hard to get a good nights sleep after something like this. Specially when you are traveling with your most precious asset, your family, and your 10 year old is now scared to stay at such a place. Once again I can’t say enough about the staff, and the hotel in general, just hope steps are taken to prevent things like this from happening in the future.

    Unsafe place having a motel 6 next to it drug dealing. Other than that, I have a son with autism and sometimes he has his moments, so there was one night that he spilled his drink on the bed and I went to the lobby to get some sheets. The thing is that this staff member gave me a hard time making up excuses on not fulfilling my request and he got to a point he said “if I want to” also said that “if I needed the sheets I could look for them earlier since I was coming in and out the whole day from the hotel” obviously his comment was rude. As far as I know I could go in and out as many times I want without being questioned, plus I clearly said to him that the situation with the sheets was an unpredictable accident with my autistic son. At the end what it seems is that this employee is not considerate with people with disabilities. At the end of this unnecessary back and forth this employee did got the sheets that I needed for my son.

    Front desk people were nice, bed was comfortable, but...Had to request a different room because of a barking dog next door. Moved to new room, was told issue with dog was taken care of, but had same problem with yelping dog most of the night. Thank goodness for earbuds. Also building is under renovation, with construction mess/noise. Door to my room was very hard to close, and there was trash scraps and a couple ibuprofen (I hope) tablets on the floor of the room. Think walls and traffic noise. I will not stay here again.

    We needed a place to sleep for the night and this one had great reviews. The hotel is still being renovated. There are many new aspects such as shower lining, paint, and carpet but they are still working on tiling. our bathroom tile had cracks which took away from the aesthetic. The mattress was extremely comfortable but we could hear some light highway noise. The room seemed clean. There was some air freshener smell that was masking some other smell. The staff was friendly and nice. I think it will be really nice once the renovation is complete.

    The lobby was almost a blank canvas and whoever is completing the work does not clean up well when they are done working for the day. This should have been done more strategically…by floor or by section/wing/hall. Maybe they should have just shut the hotel down for a few weeks to do the full project. Our room had water on the floor near the entrance from the fridge, plus paint and smudges in the restroom and shower. Hopefully they were not done renovating the room because it still needed some touch up and clean up. We also had no shower gel. Besides do what seemed to be a new bed, this property was a little bit of a disappointment.

    This was a well below average experience that compelled me to write a review. I would recommend travelers DO NOT stay here while the property is under construction, which it looks to be the case for the next few months. The staff were friendly and did they best they could under the circumstances. I was especially displeased with having airborne wall paint dust get in my coffee while in the lobby for only a few moments. The property is not clean and should not be open for guests unless you are a true loyalist to the Holiday Inn Express brand. If I had known the hotel was in this type of shape beforehand, I absolutely would not have stayed here- there are plenty of other comparable hotel in the Gastonia area. I am sure the hotel will look nice after construction finishes but not a moment before...

    There was a lot of construction going on the entire time of stay. Rooms and hall smelled of paint and strong chemicals. Our sink in bathroom leaked so bad to the point that we couldn’t use it and they didn’t offer to move us just said they didn’t have anyone to check it at that time and we could let management know when we checked out.

    Hotel is under renovation so parts of it look a reck. Carpets ripped up, sheet rock dust, ladders, and buckets everywhere. Our room was completely remodeled except for the tub. The room was very modern, very clean, but the tub was awful. It needs to be replaced, perhaps it’s already on their agenda to do. But the hotel staff is excellent! The breakfast was really, really good with omelettes, bacon and sausage. Impressive for a hotel breakfast. I would definitely recommend the hotel after the renovations are finished.

    The hotel is under MAJOR renovations to the pint of the room numbers taped above the doors, naked light bulbs in the hallways, open paint buckets left by the ice machines, and more. I’m surprised any of that is acceptable under construction codes.

    The property is currently being renovated so dont be in shock when going to your room. All staff are very nice but there is a particular gentleman that works at the front desk who is so nice. He worked on Sunday afternoon and Saturday when I was checking out. He makes you feel so welcomed!! The property is conveniently located near interstate 85. I was able to get to my destination in minutes.

    The hotel was exactly what we needed. Pet friendly, clean, comfortable. We had a great experience with a woman at the front desk. She was so very compassionate as we traveled for a family member’s funeral. We would stay here again if we traveled back to the area.

    Not good. First, the hotel is undergoing repairs/renovation so it’s a mess with construction/ painting / surplus items littered all over the hallways. Our room was missing a shower curtain, there were ants everywhere, and the bathroom ceiling was covered with black mold !

    Clean and new. Friendly and helpful staff. Grandkids enjoyed the pool. Only downside was not enough seating at the pool. I had to stand the whole hour kids were in. Other than that. All was great!

    Our room was missing a lampshade but was very clean and comfortable, which is what really matters! There was a small section of the wall in the bathroom that has water damage, so it didn't look clean, but that's all it was. The water pressure in the shower was amazing! Upon arrival the hotel was having technical issues but got us checked in on paper with no problems or delays. The area surrounding the hotel seems a little rough, but the hotel itself was fine. If we came back to the area, we would stay here again.

    Great location. Staff was amazing! Especially the gentleman at the front desk, very nice and helpful. The room overall was good. Bed was comfy and clean. A few spots were a little grimy and needs a deep clean, but would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was excellent as well

    My room smelled moldy/cigarettes. The toilet was leaking behind the toilet on the floor(which had been for awhile because the floor was stained). The shower handle kept moving to super hot even if you tried to change the temperature.

    Hotel appears like a renovation was interrupted or not done well. Furniture looks good, bed was comfortable, bathroom clean, but then window shade was stained, old fashioned bathtub fixture had a rubber gasket to fill a gap between the wall and back of fixture, the baseboard made of carpet was gapping near the nicely functioning HVAC wall unit. Outside, parking lot needs repaving. So, not a bad place to stay, just the appearance is not quite that appealing.

    I booked a double an something was wrong with the door. The keys weren't the issue. The door just would not open. Unfortunately, they had to move us to a KING which was an inconvenience because we had too many people for a King. I had to send my child over to one of my friends rooms that booked there as well. There was also ants in the air conditioner. I most likely wouldn't stay here again.

    I really didn't like much. It was inconvenient and difficult to find. It did appear to be freshly painted and the clerk at the desk said it was being renovated... well they have a long way to go. The room we had booked was small and oddly laid out so I didn't have much room to lay out suitcases but perhaps I should have paid more attention to description. However, we discovered the toilet was stopped up and since it was late there was no maintenance personnel to fix. The clerk offered a plunger, but sorry that's not my job. She did "clean" up the only other room available and put in fresh towels, made a bed. I give her credit for trying to be accommodating but she forgot to take the trash and food in the refrigerator. I soon learned why the room was available. First, the TV remote was not working (a minor issue) and I had to manually operate it but then I discovered that the carpet was wet in front of the air conditioner/heating unit and the window left open to help dry it (it was cold outside). The bracket holding the shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom was broken. The new clerk on the desk in the morning had no clue about what had happened the night before and made no indication that we could get some compensation for our trouble and/or some discount for the poor condition of the premises.
