Fairfield Inn by Marriott Charlotte Gastonia

Upon check in on Thursday I had the pleasure of dealing with a gentleman, His kindness and customer service was the reason my family and I stayed. After learning the pool was being repaired (which I wanted to leave than) but he said it would be up by the weekend and it was. Thank you sir for great customer service. The 5 stars for the staff is because of him.

There was a giant cockroach in the lobby and in the pool area. We were short a blanket and 2 pillows. Don’t recommend

All of the staff at the hotel were so friendly and kind. They have done a good job maintaining the hotel but it is really showing its age and could use some updates. The seals on all the windows were broken so the windows in the rooms were all fogged over. The tub in my room backed up and would not drain. They were nice enough to change my room since the problem couldn’t be fixed in a timely manner. The water pressure on the showers was too low. There was a couch in my room that had some stains on. The pool was also not available to use. Overall the stay was just fine and I was very comfortable. Hopefully they will get the needed updates to the rooms and it will be even better.

Both rooms we rented the showers would not drain. My toilet stopped flushing, asked to have it repaired and left for the entire day. Came back and someone had been in the room but not fixed toilet or made the bed or gotten new towels. Very bad experience.

Propery needs serious room upgrades. Furniture old, worn, couches stained and drooping. Pool out of service this stay and before on my stay here few months prior. Checkout staff curt and uninterested in my stay. Checkout at 12 but breakfast shuts down by 9:30. Barely a 2 star hotel. Needs some serious attention in a lot of areas. Price for stay is competitive, but much better hotels in the area for only a few more bucks. Go elsewhere........

The only thing is I chose the hotel because of the indoor pool. When I got there the pool was not in service. I was disappointed, also there were zero option meal for vegans so breakfast times are useless to me. I would appreciate some tofu breakfast or vegan options in the future. The gym was great staff was friendly.

Never checked in. Was told pool was unavailable. One of the reasons for choosing this property was they had a pool. Clerk said our card would not be charged. IT WAS CHARGED. STILL WAITING ON REFUND!!

My husband and daughter were happy about there stay. They definitely love everything so close to them like restaurants shopping centers and overall they would stay there again!

Breakfast is too basic and limited. Location wise is convenient to access to freeway and breakfast in Waffle House and Crackbarrel croosed the road.

Front Desk was helpful. Room clean. Fresh cookies and water at check in. Breakfast had eggs, sausages, sandwiches, yogurt, fruit, waffles. All very good. Our 1 night during the week stay was reasonably priced. Would stay again.

The bed was not good. Lumpy and sagged a lot on one side. Made noise every time I moved. Breakfast eggs were cold (after we waited 10 minutes for them to come out). I usually find Fairfield Inns to be at a much higher standard.

The breakfast was excellent. The staff were helpful. The rooms were clean. The biggest problem we ran into was the pool was not open our entire 3 night stay. We booked this property for a spring break trip and were planning to swim a decent amount. This part was very disappointing. Otherwise the hotel was excellent.

The staff was very friendly. They were able to accommodate my needs with no problems. The room was also very clean and neat. I was having issues with the internet and the wifi in my room/area not connecting nor working, but leadership reached out to me staying that they will work to resolve those issues going forward. The wifi barely worked during this trip. It was so bad that the TV was not even able to connect to the internet. I have reached out to the property staff and they have stated that they will look into the issue to see if they can fix it.

I rented for an indoor pool option, AFTER I paid and signed in I was told the pool was closed. I said I picked this hotel for indoor pool. Lady shrugged her shoulders and said well it is closed. Walked to the back. The indoor pool I rented room for was closed both days I was there. The comforters were dirty w black stains and what looked like chocolate.

The staff are very friendly, polite, and helpful. The hotel is clean and up to date. Breakfast is good and stays supplied with what you want. I recommend it. My home is under restoration, so definitely will probably be staying again. Also, I have a son who sometimes visits from Baltimore.

Staff was very nice. The rooms were large and clean. Beds were firm and terrific. Rooms lacked some basic items you would expect to be there. No towel racks, nothing to hang on to get out of shower, door interferes with shower mat, sitting chair with no table to put drink on. Simple things that mean a lot.

Place has free breakfast.The rooms were very clean and nice. The hotel entrance and lobby was pristine. The price was really good. For the price, I was thinking it was going to be run down a bit. Lol. I love that they have fresh baked cookies laying out when you check in, and they are free.? They charge $60 for early check in. A MONEY GRAB SCHEME in my opinion, when they're was hardly anybody there, so it's not like they couldn't have a room available early. I am black, so I can say this part.. but the skinny black girl's attitude when she told me about the fee was defensive, smug, and rude. This fee is not normal to me when I am used to staying at a Hilton hotel, and I have never been charged anything like that. The natural reaction is shocking, but her response to a shocked reaction to me was rude. My hubby felt the same way about her attitude.

The hotel is an older hotel and the smell of the rooms were awful. We changed rooms and the second was a little better but when we returned from eating out the smell had gotten worse. I was told told last until 9:30am by check in staff and when I arrived to eat at 9:15am nothing was available and breakfast staff said they close down at 9:00pm.

The Location was great, close to the interstate and restaurants nearby, The Breakfast was Chef’s Kiss with great options to choose from, I would definitely recommend this Hotel. we stayed for 4 days and The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was great

I was disappointed that the photos on line were nothing like the room we were given. I would not have picked this hotel had I known the way the room looked. It also felt humid in the room as I had to wear socks the entire time I walked around. The staff was great!

No it was not what the pictures offer.. rooms was old and all had a bad smell..by time i got in my 3rd room i went to Wal-Mart and brought some smell good the just to stay...i was not happy with what i paid for..

The drain in the shower was blocked. There is no vent in the bathroom. The bed was so uncomfortable, I felt like I was sleeping on the ground and I woke up with a stiff neck. The powdered eggs for breakfast were inedible but the waffles and cereal were good. Does this sound like a Marriott?? Mr Marriott would turn over in his grave!

Great place for an overnight stay as we were traveling. Convenient to I-85 with several eating places nearby. Breakfast was provided, however it was the only thing that could have been improved.

Right off interstate, very convenient for a stop during a long trip.

However, the experience took a turn for the better the next morning when I checked out. The receptionist was a stark contrast to the previous night’s staff. She greeted me with a warm “Good morning!” as soon as I approached the desk, and her friendly and welcoming demeanor was a pleasant surprise. It was clear she was focused on providing excellent customer service, which made a big difference in my overall impression of the hotel. While the hotel itself was decent, the service quality really seemed to vary depending on who was at the front desk. I hope they can improve consistency in guest interactions going forward.

We had a wonderful stay at Fairfield Inn. We were greeted when we came in and offered complamtary cookies .They were really good.We really enjoyed the pool and weight room. I loved how friendly everyone was. The tree was really decorated nicely , Jose did a great job ! The continential Breakfast was really good.The sweet lady even made the Belguim waffles for my huband and I.

Facilities and bedrooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful, generous and welcoming. If I had to state a negative, maybe a little updating to inside but still very, very clean.

The rooms/hotel could use a remodel-as well. I normally stay at Marriott hotels, this was probably one of the worse stays/experiences I’ve had.

When I arrive to check in for my stay, there was no one at the front desk to check anyone in. There was a gentleman who was trying to check in, who said he had been waiting for a very long time. Once the front desk attendant arrived, she was very pleasant and was able to get us checked in. Once we made it to the hallway where the elevators were, I noticed they were industrial fans blowing in the hallways on the first floor. When we made it to the second floor, where our room was, there were industrial fans blowing there as well and the floors felt uneven like they were buckling, there were also baseboards missing. One of the mattresses in our room had a large, dark red stain in the edge of the mattress. The bathroom has black mold all over the ceiling and in the bathroom vent! We were able to get another room, and there were fans being blown in the 3rd floor as well. It seems like there may have been extensive water damage but I’m unsure. This room was better, however I was not convertible with the conditions of the hotel at all. After paying $190 for one night, I expected it to be a decent place to stay. I had travelled 4 hours that day to attend a funeral and I would’ve gotten a room elsewhere if I wasn’t so exhausted. No one should be allowed to stay in rooms that have mold. There were bleach marks on the carpet where it looks like they were spraying some kind of treatment possibly. I do not recommend staying here at this time until they do ALOT to fix these problems.

The breakfast was good, staff was friendly. The hotel was very loud and you could hear other guests in the hallway in and out of their rooms all night. The parking lot light was super bright and shown right in our window and no room darkening curtains or shades. It was like a light was on all night. Not condusive for rest.

2nd daughter had softball state championsships so we had to be at the field at 7am so we had to leave at 630 am to get to field on time the front office wasnt open yet so i didnt stop by and get my deposit back (I told them the night before I would be leaving at 6am they said no problem nothing about pick up your deposit befor you leave or you will be charged.. so we got done at 1 pm went back to get deposit they said it would be charged a 35$ late fee even though all my stuff was out of the room at 6am so I got upset and asked for manager the manager wasnt on duty they said they would call the cops we said best thing to do we waited on cops to get there when cops got there it was after 2pm so now they said they were charging me another night and I wasnt allowed to stay for that night because they had my money after 2pm.. worst experience ever I cant believe wyndham would put there name on such a horrible property and they are allowed to do stuff like that I had to take a civil suit on them

The hotel staff were very nice and kind. My husband and I came during the time of kids tournaments so it was very noisy. Also, the entire hotel smelled like marijuana the entire time we stayed at the hotel. The smell was so unpleasant that we told night manager. But overall not a bad place.

We were traveling for baseball and always stay at Fairfield Inn because rooms are big enough, ac is cold, staff is efficient and the hot breakfast (w/ something other than just sugary crap). The staff working the breakfast buffet was hustling to keep everything stocked as there were multiple teams staying here with early games. Convenient to interstate, dining and stores.

I used their iron to press over my new dress for my daughter’s gender reveal. The iron malfunctioned and burned a hole in my dress. The property doesn’t think they need to fix this.

Amazing staff—night, front desk and breakfast. Lovely breakfast with many options—hearty and healthy. Beads comfy and room clean. Decor slightly out outdated and room with slightly musty odor. Overall would come back.

Great shower and water pressure

There was blood on the duvet and the lampshade. I went down and told the girl at the desk at night. She gave me a new comforter but the duvet and lampshade were not cleaned. The room was not cleaned the whole time we were there. I had to go down and get new towels every day.
