Comfort Suites Gastonia - Charlotte

Very nice location. Quiet. Staff friendly. Hot breakfast each morning. 2 nearby restaurants... Cracker Barrel and Texas Roadhouse. Texas Roadhouse was soooo busy so we went to Cracker Barrel and had a great meal and the service was excellent.

I loved everything thank you.

The room was very clean but seemed a little outdated furniture wise.......bed was very comfortable........staff were very friendly and courteous.......arrived late evening to catch a flight out of Charlotte, and parking in the lot was extremely limited.......overall, I would stay at this hotel again....,

Our stay was nice and the place was clean and you could breath in the room. The only thing we did not like very much was the breakfast selection one morning we didn't even have milk the eggs were cold and it was the best but overall it was a good stay.

Staff members were courteous and helpful. However, the hotel is older and needs renovation; especially the bathroom in our room. The shower did not work properly, there was rust and mold around the tub. I was staying in the hotel for a next morning procedure at the local hospital. I stay in the area often and this was the first time I had stayed at this property. Unfortunately it will be my last time staying here.

Clean room. Wonderful staff! The only complaint we have (family of 5) is the breakfast variety. They had the same thing every day - sausage and scrambled eggs with standard "dry foods" like cereal, baked goods, and waffles. Overall a good stay.

The woman (didn't catch her name) at the front desk when I checked was very nice to deal with. I requested a room on the top floor that would be quiet. She put me in a room at the end of the hall, and it was perfectly quiet. The room was very clean and well appointed. The breakfast the next morning was good, although I wish there had been more than one flavor of yogurt, but it was still good. I've had good experiences with Comfort Suites, and will continue to favor them when selecting a hotel.

Location and cleanliness. That they only have long curtains for room decor and aren’t able to be used to close and cover the window. We had lightning coming in the room all night long from the light poles outside the hotel.

Very nice room, bed was very comfortable. Starting around 2:30am I was awakened by what sounded like people slamming doors. I thought how rude and tried to go back to sleep. The next morning I left my room to go to breakfast only to find that it is the door/lock design that makes it abnormally loud to close. Breakfast was average. They only had one waffle machine so that caused a backup.

The indoor pool was not operatable I chose the location especially for that then the gym had zero free weights and no options for vegan meals. I probably will not choose this hotel again for these reasons.

The hotel is very clean. The desk staff was very friendly. Laurie was really outstanding at check in. I have stayed here before and she was friendly bith times. I didn't like the powdered eggs. I also think it would be nice to have some fruit added to the breakfast menu. There was no body wash in the shower area.

The breakfast however was fairly disappointing. We stayed for three nights and got the same breakfast each morning which was sausage patties and eggs along with the usual "cold" options of bagels, toast, muffins etc. I had hoped for a little variety each day (bacon instead of sausage or biscuits and gravy one morning). Everything was tasty but it was disappointing to receive the same thing each day. We received a handicapped room because we "booked the hotel through a third party and when you do that, this sometimes happens." This was unexpected and we were not able to get a different one. The room was ok enough. The bathroom floor flooded a bit when we used the shower because there was no lip to the shower area. I don't think a small lip on the shower would have been too much to ask for even if it was a handicapped room. The bathroom ceiling was peeling and discolored in places which was a bit off-putting.

We arrived after dark and in April so I can't speak to the pool, but the lobby, room, bathroom and breakfast area were all well maintained. Bed was comfortable, but a bit close to the airconditioning/heatering unit so it made it tough to get by. Other than that, I would highly recommend.

So our experience went like this....checked in early around 1:00 pm and was greeted by a solicitation for money by a vagrant in the back of the parking lot. He was just sitting in the back patio. Then a couple with 3 kids sits back there and starts smoking marijuana. This part of Gastonia is such a classy place! The hotel/room is a pig with lipstick on. It's falling apart but they have unsuccessfully tried to hide the age and deterioration.

Honestly had a great overnight stay. Rooms were clean, staff was really friendly, parking was really easy, and the night hours were perfectly quiet. If i had any complaints, it was very minor. The room had a bit of a musky smell at first but got used to it quikly and that the tv remote barely worked, but was not a big deal for me! Really happy with the stay ^^

Somebody in the parking lot hit my sisters car and didnt it. The toilet in our room ran all the time and the maid didnt come 1 time at all.

Werid stay alot of construction men standing around at midnight a girl tired to come in from outside with my key and the room door needed to be fixed I use to stay here when I travel but I won’t anymore was very disappointed

Breakfast was same everyday. Need more varieties of food. No bananas. The sausage is pork and not labeled for people of Muslim religion or people who don't eat pork. I complained to the kitchen staff of same breakfast everyday. Parking was great and car safe. No problem with staff.

I really enjoyed my stay at Comfort Suites Gastonia. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the price was very reasonable. What stood out the most was the staff they were so friendly and greeted me every time they saw me, which made me feel very welcome. Breakfast was also good with nice options to choose from. I would definitely stay here again!

There was police cars at the hotel and I tried to get a hold of the front desk clerk and I got a busy signal everytime I tried to call. When we came back to our hotel. I saw the security guards or police officer looking at the camera at the front desk. My family and I were terrified that night. The fitness center is too small. Thr hotel needs more expansion on the fitness center.

Very clean and comfortable only complaint was room 301 had a sofa bed that was extremely difficult to open and close, mattress was all stained up and my son who needed to sleep on it was so uncomfortable we had to just use it a couch. Please throw it away!

Nothing was good at this hotel. Need to be checked by HEALTH DEPARTMENT/OSHA Mattresses had nasty disturbing bloody spots that went all the way through the mattress and box spring.. Even the pull out couch/bed had huge bloody spots all over it..

The location suited us and it was clean and comfortable. The breakfast range and quality was standard for these type of hotels but that is still uninspiring. Facilities very basic, but again, to be expected.

I really did not like having to pay an $80 deposit (for myself and my pet) in addition to the charge for the room and the extra charge for the pet. And I was especially unhappy to learn that the deposit will not be returned for 7 days. This is not reasonable, and I won't stay there again, even though the room was comfortable.

Checking in was awful and we were in town for a funeral. And the shooting in the hotel that staff didn't care about was enough for my family to pack up and leave at 11pm. The attendant at the counter seemed aggravated at the fact she had to be bothered to check us out after the door NEXT to us was literally shot by a man in the hallway.

The hotel has had a makeover since my last stay here if I’m not mistaken and it looks much better. Our room was large enough for a family of four and our dog. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet. Decent breakfast in the morning was enough to get us going and hold us over until lunch. The staff were professional and polite. This is the best place for your stay. The front desk agent was helpful and kind. Everything about comfort inn was exceptional. Their deposit was satisfactory because these other little places charges so much and they don't compare to comfort inn. Whenever I am in town again this will be my place to lay my head.

The bed was so uncomfortable thing I have ever slept on I woke up not being able to move every Morning mattress had so many divits in the mattress I could feel my body was going in them. My husband was miserable also.

There was a good variety of channels available. No musty smells or odors at the property. I would stay there again.

The room is dirty and was told it's a sound proof room. People around us are being super loud. I'm not happy at all. Plus there is a tractor and trailer running outside in the parking lot super loud. It is midnight and I can not go to sleep with all the noise. I was also charged another $30 on my card after checking in. This has been the worst experiences I've ever had with a hotel with such good reviews.

My pillow smelt like someone’s dirty head..the table had something stuck on it, the pull out couch had a ripped up sheet of plastic over it with a big stain in the middle. Quiet, and clean

The staff was friendly and check in was easy. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good and check out was easy. The above mentioned problems give this property a single star, however. Guests should be able to sleep without outside light pouring into the room and the owners need to be made aware of the poor choice in materials they chose for blinds with no proper curtains that can be shut.

This is my second time staying at this hotel in a matter of months. Last time there was construction and this time there wasn’t any. It was a wonderful stay.

Hotel was conveniently located but service for room was inconsistent. Had to ask several times at front desk for basic items like toilet tissue, Kleenex and fresh bed linens. Complimentary breakfast was below standard. Menu for our entire stay for over a week and a half never changed and selection of what was provided was limited. Coffee was good.

Overall the hotel met my needs. Was a little surprised the hotel allowed a ‘group’ to stay in outside common area very late into the evening (which they were pretty loud) went on well past midnight both nights I was there. Was able to somewhat drown it out using white noise in room. Breakfast was decent.

The front staff at check in were very friendly and accommodating! Breakfast was pretty good too. The room was ok. The vent in the bathroom didn't work so there was mold on the ceiling in the shower. The beds are VERY firm. So if this is just an overnight stop for you it will do that trick. I wouldn't want to sleep on the bed more than one night though.

We only stayed 1 night, but it was excellent. Several restaurants across the street, breakfast was fine, room was clean. Staff was friendly and it is only a minute from the highway. What more could you want.

Had to ask to have room cleaned was there for 8 days. Bathroom never cleaned bed only changed once. Seen to cockroachs.

Outside looks brand new but the room I had was extremely old. Firsr floor room across from housekeeping. Outlets didn't work and there was a roach in my room. Would never stay again.

Hotel has some age on it. I don’t have a problem with that-you get what you pay for. Bed was pretty good and you could not hear outside sounds too bad, except for the adjoining door. That said, there was dust all over the room. You could tell it never had regular cleaning. Plus, stains on the bed cover and the bathroom door handle was falling off. Just needs a little TLC.

They had mold in rooms something was biting us all nite there was loud motorcycles all nite and loud music playing there was construction workers waking us up they put us in a room next to the office the room smelled bad like the first room it wasn’t what It looked like in the pictures I didn’t get hardly any sleep at all we couldn’t eat breakfast the last day because we didn’t know they moved it to a different room after they was redoing the breakfast area I want some my money back for not being able to enjoy my stay there and no rest and we was right across from the laundry workers it was the worst stay I ever experienced I ask to be moved but she said that with my dog that was only floor but I didn’t have to be put right in front the workers it was awful loud and rude plus had to pay a huge dog deposit I didn’t know about at the time of reservation

It was quick 1 day stay for a out of town family get together room was clean and had no problems

What I didn’t like was that the beds were so high. They make them look more luxurious but I’m old and short. Tough getting in. But once up there, they are comfortable and many pillows.

Hotel was clean and service was very good. We added a night to our stay, but housekeeping didn’t clean or bring new towels. It wsa probably just a miscommunication with the desk.

The staff was very helpful even when we came in late. The room was a none smoking but smiled like it had been smoked in, and they were glad to move us.

My room was never cleaned and it was so humid in my room that my clothes in my suitcase were damp. Let front office know but never got response from manager and housekeeping.

Breakfast options suitable for most. Weather was rainy so we didn’t use the pool but it looked clean & well-maintained. There was a nice sitting area with a firepit which would be nice in good weather. Convenient location. Would definitely return.

Used this hotel for a short ride to the airport early in the morning & it was perfect. Quiet, comfortable, clean & half the price of the hotels closer to the airport!

ENJOYED IT

They do not make up room everyday, which would have been nice to know upon check in, or prior. Also, fresh fruit, and some variety at breakfast bar would be nice.

We stayed for three nights. The room was appealing when walking in. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was nice also. The only complaints are the bed is way to close to the A/C unit so the air blows almost directly on the bed area. I also wish they a hand held shower unit. Don’t know if we would stay again because of the placement of the bed to unit. The breakfast was ok. Loved the waffles!!

Went for a business trip and took my older kids to enjoy the pool while i worked. They had a great time and met a lot of friends.

The front desk woman was so sweet and gave me all the info needed to stay at this hotel. The room was cool and very clean and the pool was very inviting (it was super hot that day). The breakfast bar the next day was well stocked with variations of breakfast food and the coffee was delish😀

The couch smelled of urine. The bed sheets and blankets had stains in it. I seen 2 bugs on the room, one which was in the bed. I left soon after checking in. The check in ladies was very nice.

Clean and quiet

house cleaning does not come every day, only on 3rd day. does not empty garbage or replenish bathroom supplies and towels on daily basis. had to ask front desk every day. furniture is not kept clean, sticky surfaces. carpets are old and smell bad. so much furniture in room that king bed was right up against the window and ac unit, making it difficult to access bed on that side. Mattress was too soft, probably old. Very disappointing for the price paid.

Overall the stay here was good. The front desk person I think Pam was very friendly. The downfall to the room was door didn't lock, but had the bar at the top that we used. The bed was very close to the ac unit not allowing a lot of walking space. And the amenities was all squeeze type except the soap. This needs to be upgraded. Would stay again.

Just an ok experience the lady working front desk was not competant and no body there to help her. Seems poorly managed, fees when i get there and was not disclosed when i booked, only would take a card for deposit. All around bad experience

Need more than one checkin persons at busiest time of day!

Front desk staff very friendly. Room was dirty in the bathroom and the sofa bed had numerous stains. No sheets were provided for sofa bed so we had to go get sheets from front desk. Staff was very friendly though. The exterior was being painted so that was a con and the area was messy but it’s understandable.

The property had mold in the bathroom in both rooms that was shown to me ended up leaving.

If you’re traveling, This is a good place to rest, quiet and safe

This was a great room for a relatively low price. Very easy to access the surrounding area. The building is an older building that is undergoing renovations. Our room was very clean and very comfortable. The continental breakfast was nothing super fancy but what they had was very good. You cannot beat a place like this for the price if you are looking for a clean and comfortable room at a reasonable price.

Under construction so windows are taped from view. Food was great. Staff was great. Parking was good.

Beds were wonderful. They put coffee in bathroom??? Smoking area outside our window and people were outside talking through out the night while the smoke went into the air conditioning and into our room.

Only bad thing was they had the window covered up because they were doing work on the hotel.

Breakfast was OK. Just ok

We went to the pool and 2 minutes later they told us to leave because they were going to paint. I asked the front desk before going to the pool to see if it was going to be open and then they ask us to get out of the pool… no communication between the staff. Horrible for little kids ready to enjoy the pool. And then later I saw the staff saying to another guest that the pool was open when it was closed!!! Didn’t like the staff and how my family was treated…

A very nice property. It was well maintained. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The staff were really nice. The room was clean overall. The pull out sofa mattresses desperately need to be swapped out as they were very stained and old. Greater care needs to be shown to the tv remotes. Ours did not work and was missing a back. Overall a pretty good stay for one night.

It's my first time I'm very feeling comfortable there

Quick overnight stop on a longer trip. It was under heavy renovation with constant noise until later in the night and early in the morning. After check in, they wanted to come put benches in the room and were pretty rude about it. Come do that after I check out or before I check in. Pretty much just dumped it in the floor and left. Should have booked the Fairfield next door.

Stay over clean service not available anymore must have to be requested.

Had lots of Construction going on room next door and room underneath me lots of Banging and Drilling and the room smelled like Smoke it was Nasty lots of Construction Vehicles out in Parking Lot taking up lots of Space Hard to get Parking Spot when I got back to Hotel was not Happy for the amount of Money I paid

They were doing some modifications to the hotel. Not as many parking spaces and windows were covered.

Pet fee was an additional $50. per night. Might want to include that information. Remodeling and or painting so parking lot was roped off

The staff was very friendly and courteous. It was a very short stay. Just passing through town and needed a safe clean place to sleep. I would definitely stay there again.

Would have like to have known id be staying somewhere renovation was going on.all day Saturday then again starting at 8:00am Sunday morning. Hammerdrills do not make for a peaceful stay.
