The staff was beyond rude and overall unhelpful. They lack compassion and I had an awful experience speaking with them.

Room was clean just didn’t have even parking space.

The room was clean. The staff was very polite and professional. There was plenty of parking. The location is very close to the Savannah River waterfront. There are plenty of daily-use businesses nearby.

It was ok I thought maybe it would have been better rooms since it was fairly new and the smell in the elevator was omg terrible and the room didn’t smell fresh

There was an issue with our room having several roaches on the wall and Shannon (the night clerk) quickly changed our room without any hesitation. She provided us with excellent customer service. Although I booked with option to pay at Hotel, I had to pay first night in advance because they could not secure my room past 6pm for a late arrival. The room smelled dank and damp, carpets and floors were dirty. I had to use an entire pack of Lysol Disinfectant wipes to wipe down everything, including the floors. There was a used wash cloth thrown across the shower curtain (probably from past guest). Water was slow to drain during shower so we were standing in dirty water while showering. Amenities: Free Breakfast ( Since our first room had roaches, we opted out of the meal). No shower soap as stated. Room where the ice maker is was dirty for the entire 3-night stay... never swept or mopped.

Check in was great unfortunately I don't remember the lady's name and other staff were polite. The room was a little dated but clean. Elevator was a little shaky but inspection up to date. We felt safe and unbothered. There is a grocery store (food lion) about a block distance away. And honestly the location is kinda great to get us where we wanted to go for the 4 days of our stay. I'd stay again for sure.

First room we were given had people old green wash rags from home still in shower and tissue in toilet room strong smell of weed for non smoking room. Second room 83 degrees, broken shower with hair in walls, stains on toilet and walls. We ran AC low to coo it off went to store and cleaned it up as we had been exhausted by now for our long drive. Maintenance didn’t come the whole time we were there, house keeping came once because we kept asking. Asked to speak with manager and the man at desk kept saying she wasn’t there. Asked for her office ext. refused to give it. Turns out he was part owner and just didn’t want to help. Worst place I have ever been to. Disgusting and unprofessional. One of the front desk ladies was a sweetheart and truly way too good to be there at that horrible place. Making sure our entire vollyball, basketball and baseball clubs know to never stay there for a tournament. Posting on socials as well. They should be ashamed to be open. I emailed the so called manager and no response. It has now been a week.

The place was very dirty, from the lobby to the bathroom. While the hotel cannot help this, it was very loud. One room had loud music and the other had loud conversations. I stayed for three hours and checked out. I don't know if this is a you get what you pay for, but the place was just not clean and had an odor.

Close enough to downtown, had a shuttle service you could sign up for. Our room smelled strongly like stale cigarette smoke and when we went to breakfast everything was out except for a couple of mini muffins and bread. No milk for cereal, no fruit, yogurt, anything. There was a worker that people kept asking to refill the milk at least so we could have cereal and it never got restocked. We had to go elsewhere for breakfast. Also the front desk staff wasn’t very friendly.

First of all. We booked a non smoking room and the rooms was totally a smoky room then we tried two other rooms that was untidy and smells like pet the overall experience was a total disaster and a loss for us!!!

Staff is good The hotel was honestly disgusting. The entire room smelled heavily like cigarettes even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. The walls had random stains all over them, the floor was extremely dirty, and there were spots and drops everywhere. My child walked barefoot for just a few minutes and their feet turned black. The bedding also had visible stains, which made the whole room feel very unsanitary. On top of that, the soundproofing was terrible — we could hear everything happening in the rooms around and above us all night.

Overall good stay. We didn't have a TV for the first night and our room was right by the elevator so there was noise from that, but overall good location and good hotel. Only stayed 2 nights.

This is my third day at Iris and I find it easy to get in and out of and I feel safe there. The only thing that I find to be frustrating is that none of the vending machine seem to work or if they do work they always seem to be empty. Staff has always been very friendly and willing to accommodate anyway they can. It’s 13 minutes from the hotel to the historic District of Savannah!
- 0.5/5
Staff was completely rude. Hung up on me abruptly when I called to extend my stay. The laundry w/d did not work and also took my money. The knob in the shower was messed up and would fall to burning hot if turned too much. Vending machine was also down

There was a strong seafood odor lingering on our floor our entire stay, which was not pleasant. Outside also had a rough fishy smell to it. The bathroom was a little dirty and the shower tub didn't drain. The front desk was nice upon check-in and check-out, however. Not sure who there at check out, but she was very nice.
- 2/5
They did try to put us in a quiet room. Unfortunately the next room guests were rowdy I think the reviews of this place are hacked... first of all there's no pool despite the pictures featured. The building smells and there are outright filthy spots (there was spilled tea on a coffee table in the lounge for the 2 days we were there). Breakfast wasn't available at the posted time and the most basic you can imagine (waffles, but even that was too watery in consistency) - everything kept running out and no one cared. Most of the time there was no one in the reception area no matter what you tried to accomplish. Any issue you raise staff will make faces at you. Even wifi is glitchy

Staying at this hotel was a terrible experience. The room was not cleaned properly, and it did not match what was advertised on Expedia. It looked nothing like the photos—once we got inside, it was very disappointing.

With a little more focus on the details (cleaner carpets, paint touch-ups, light bulbs, remotes, etc.) Iris Garden could cultivate a loyal following and far better reviews. I hope they succeed at this, since the staff here is wonderful and deserves recognition.

Did not eat breakfast there. Not much was offered. Went to Waffle House instead. It is close by. The place is in need of remodeling. The toilet didn't flush very well. The soap in the shower was supposed to be fastened to the wall but it was just sitting in the bath tub.
- 1/5
Nothing, worse price vs quality rate The stuff was unresponsive, breakfast... Are you kidding me? How am I supposed to be full with only waffles and flakes? It was all they have to offer for $140 a night. They give us a key and the door was locked. They said a random man didn't want to check out, we spent an hour waiting for them to handle it, awful!

It is adequate for sleeping and cleaning up but it is an old hotel and not in the best shape any longer. You hear everyone through thte walls, so beware.

The staff was overwhelmingly accommodating for our anniversary and really went the extra mile. The day time clerk especially. I loved how special they made our trip Noisy live in expletives from second floor neighbors

Nothing. It was dirty. Our room keys stopped working. We got locked out of our room. The breakfast was awful. Hated everything. I couldn’t wait to leave.
- 5/5
The facilities were nice, the staff were very friendly, especially Shannon. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was really lacking. Just a waffle maker and some muffins.
- 1/5
Our stay here was terrible. Starting with the check in, the lobby was hot and the hotel did not look like it was kept up with. Once we got our keys and arrived at our room we noticed how out dated it was. Not only that but we found several roaches. We complained to the front lobby and were told we could switch rooms. Once we arrived at our new room we noticed it was not cleaned and even had clothing items on the floor and the items in it (cups, bathroom, sheets) were used and out of place. We immediately went back to the front desk and requested a refund. We didn’t stay longer than a day and had to find a new place. The only thing that was okay about this hotel was the front desk ladies as they both were kind and understanding about our situation. Probably because this is something they experience often. I would stay away from this hotel unless you’re okay with sleeping in an old and filthy room.
- 5/5
Second time staying at this hotel -- Its very close to alot of things & really nice to have the shuttle service to downtown
- 1/5
Location Service. Parking is not enough. We arrive at 11:00 PM, there is no room to park. There is no light in the bathroom, no light on the night table. I asked to repair this situation and staff said we can’t do it anything to solve this situation. Breakfast without protein. ????? .
- 3/5
The location and the price was very convenient but you definitely get what you pay for. If you stay here, I would recommend bringing pepper spray and your own towels. Other than that, the beds are super comfy and overall was not a bad experience if you’re looking to save some money.
- 0.5/5
Nothing I didn't like the hotel, smelled in room dirty carpet stained sheet covers not bathroom and everything dated. It wasn't what I was expecting at all didn't stay one night.

Space wasn’t as clean as we were hoping and we killed a bug in the bed. The mattress protector had some brown spots so we were concerned with bed bugs. Shampoo/conditioner bottle was not working. Just maybe things they could check while turning over the room.

The property was filthy. They told us they had TWO king rooms available and we ended up having to have one with 2 queens. Rooms smelled like smoke. And NO water for guests. Was told to go across the street to another hotel to get water!!!! There was nothing we liked Everything above!!!

None The receptionist in the evening, not friendly at all, asked me for a pin code, and I thought he means my credit card which I will never give but instead he meant post code and I didn’t understand because I don’t live in the USA and he started to rise up the tone of voice and said to me welcome to America and if you don’t gave me post code go to another Hotel, and I said excuse that’s how you treat people here I’m a costumer and he replied you think I am a slave and I said I never call you like that I just don’t understand what are you asking because in other Hotels in USA never ask me for that. And then he treated me by saying I going to call the police. Horrible experience, I decided not to stay and a left cause he started to scream and aggressive behavior. He looks like someone from India or Pakistan he don’t look happy at his Job. I hope he didn’t charge me. Other wise I have to check with my bank.

Not at all as pictured. The photos included in the advertisement are not at all how the hotel looks. The rooms were very small. The shower didn't drain at all and brought up sediment from whoever showered previously to us. They were also very understaffed from what we saw. They had one (very kind) woman running the front desk but also two other hotels at the same time?? But that being said, the area was very quiet and the staff was very kind and helpful when needed. If you're just exploring Savannah, it's a good place to just go and sleep. Even with all the cons, the staff and the proximity to Savannah make up for it. A good place to stay for a weekend in the city. Only 15-20 minutes away from everything.

We pulled into the parking lot and immediately felt uncomfortable. There were not many cars there but the ones that were there were occupied with construction workers enjoying the end of the day with some liquor. All the stares made us very uncomfortable because we were 4 ladies only no men. We didn’t stay there we ended up booking at a different hotel in the historic district which was very pleasant.

Property was clean. However, our room had a very strong musty odor. You can tell it was clean, but I’m not sure if it’s the supplies they are using or what- my nose was burning. Bed was pretty comfortable. WiFi worked great however only one tv channel worked and every other one was spotty and said “inclement weather”. I knew the breakfast was limited just didn’t think it would be like it was. A waffle maker with no syrup and oatmeal with no hot water. The only other options were mini muffins of white toast with butter and 1 kind of jelly, or cereal. I went with cereal and it was stale.

I loved the peace and quiet. The food option was not the best. More options should be included to the menu. The staff was very kind.

The female receptionist was very helpful and courteous, but other than that not a lot to impress in my stay. The room was OK, but in need of some serious TLC (coffee machine and light above the bed not working, no plug in bathroom sink, toilet seat loose, whole apartment needed painting). The furnishings in the bedroom were passable. Very limited breakfast choice. I reported the main faults to a man on reception, who said that they would be passed to the maintenance team, but nothing was rectified in my 3 night stay. Not impressed.

Next, our towels were very dirty with black stains on them. The breakfast was horrible and tasted as if they we from the previous morning and just reheated for the next day. The walls a very thin and you can hear people beside you in other rooms. Someone had a dog four rooms down and you could hear the dog barking. You could also hear the person above you talking. The bathroom door would not close so that you can lock it. Someone else’s belongings were in the drawers from the previous stay. Overall, the location is not in the safest place and appears to be in a deserted area in the projects. I would not recommend this property until they are at least able to clean the towels, clean the rooms, serve fresher food to serve for breakfast, and at least fix the bathroom doors.

Check-in was quick and easy. We did encounterd an issue with the room's fridge not working. The staff deserves praise here – upon informing them, they promptly arranged for a replacement fridge with no fuss. Their responsiveness and focus on fixing the problem significantly enhanced our stay and left a very good impression.

The property is near a grocery store which was convenient. Unfortunately, my fridge was broken and moldy (would not get cold). So I was limited on purchase options. Also, I noticed that the elevator permit was expired by more than 1 year and it made a weird sound every time I stepped in. The property did have a breakfast option (hot meals on weekend) but the juices weren’t kept in a temp safe container. This resulted in the OJ expiring and fermenting. I stuck to making waffles each day since I knew they would be cooked correctly. The only other complaint was that the Wi-Fi was spotty at times.

Don’t usually comment on my stays, but this hotel is a solid stay for the price. Staff is friendly, yes the property isn’t luxurious or very new, but it’s comfortable and functional. No red flags in terms of hygiene during my stay, and it’s extremely convenient to drive into Savannah proper. Great bang for your buck, with easily accessible essentials within walking distance. Solid 4/5

Property doesn’t look like the pictures on Expedia. The complimentary body wash in the shower wasn’t filled up/completely empty, the floor of the shower wasn’t cleaned, pillow cases on one side of our king bed where very damp/wet… someone who works for the hotel knocked on our door at 11:30pm at night and asked us when we were checking out the next day… very inappropriate especially when they know when people have to check out by. Very very unpleased and IS NOT worth $160 per night.

Bed was clean and comfortable but the pillow were terribly lumpy. The rest of the room we had to sanitize what we could and tried not to touch anything else. If we hadn’t had a midnight arrival we would not have stayed at this property. Those who have rated it as exceptional have very poor standards. Stains on the carpets, walls, and furnishings. Dust on the doors and walls. The hotel lobby and breakfast area are beautifully redone but completely misrepresent the condition of the rooms which is really most important for a clean, healthy, relaxing, and comfortable stay. The breakfast area is the only space in the hotel that smells musty due to moisture control issues apparent by the extreme condensation on the windows. Breakfast is a risk at best. Juice looks like it’s been there too long and is possibly fermenting at this point. They also offer cereal with no milk, muffins, a waffle maker with no batter, and a carafe of coffee that really looks like it needs a good exterior cleaning. Spend $30 more and stay elsewhere.

The hotel felt unsafe, with people loitering in cars in the parking lot. Only one service elevator was working, and its inspection was expired (last checked in 2024). My room had a musty smell, was hot upon entry, and I found a dead roach behind the TV. It felt like the room hadn’t been inspected or used in a while. None of the ice machines worked on the 2nd or 3rd floors, and the vending area on the 1st floor was out of order too. I was beyond frustrated by that point. Staff were rarely visible, and checking out was difficult due to a language barrier. The photos online were misleading. I understand budget hotels come with limitations, but cleanliness, safety, and basic service should still be expected. I was relieved to only be staying two nights.

This our second time to stay at the Iris Garden Inn in Garden City/Savannah. Our daughter is a student at SCAD and in the past we always stayed at short term rentals in the north historic district. Last year we traveled with our dog to pick up our daughter for summer break and stayed at the Iris Garden Inn because they allow pets. We were pleasantly surprised at the newness and cleanliness of the inn and our room as well as the friendly and very helpful staff. Plus it had a large parking lot and grassy areas for walking our dog. This year no dog but booked again because we liked the convenience. It is close to the historic district (5 to 10 minute drive) and you don’t have the headache of hunting 15 minutes for an overnight pay to park space.

I had a two day stay but after no way of purchasing a drink cause machine was out of order on top people being loud all night long kids running down hallway paper thin walls dirty sink and tub. Tub stopper wouldn’t screw in so no way of taking a bath and after waking up first night with bed bugs bite all over me my husband and I packed our stuff up and left. Before leaving we looked at the mattress and it literally looked like someone had a bloody mess. GROSS

Came into the lobby, desk attendant did not acknowledge us verbally or even with a smile. Check in and learned that our room had a broken window shade, refrigerator broken, air vent in bath broken. Had to go downstairs because no one answered front desk phone. Desk attendant was rude to other people checking in. I was offered a new room; however no “sorry for the inconvenience” was given. Once I changed rooms and I came back downstairs to put away the roll cart, there was no follow through to make sure I was happy with the new room. New room had working items but the bath tub was just dirty and you could tell the room had not been used in awhile with all the dust on the lamps. New room had no phone, broken clock and the charging plugs in the head lamps also didn’t work. The hallways smelled musty and you can tell cheap products were used to make it look like it’s a higher end/modern look. Haven’t tried the shower to see if there is hot water, we shall see.

Front desk person when checking in was not nice. The room was dirty. And the hotel just smelled bad. Supposed to be no smoking but all you smelled was someone smoking weed. Towels were horrible. They very thin and smelled bad. Beds were not comfortable. Bed sheets felt dirty. It wasn’t a great hotel. Alot of shady people just hanging out in the parking lots too.

I give 3 star for service due to the front office staff who was there at the time of my check-in. She didn’t great me as she was upset or frustrated on incoming call. The breakfast at this hotel was extremely limited. The coffee was completely empty for about half an hour at 8:00 AM. No staff were present to even ask about refilling it. They finally came back about half an hour later. They also manage the Baymont next-door, so I’m sure that’s where they were at. But it makes it extremely inconvenient for their own guests.

I have never complained about a stay before but this time is a must. STAY AWAY. They lie on description ( like having a pool and they filled it in), rooms smell like smoke and animals. Took four rooms to find one that didn’t stink. AC was stuck on snow, no display and temp buttons didn’t work so couldn’t warm it up, no curtains or blinds that worked, bathroom sheets were not clean. People had tv blaring at 3:30am and people outside in parking lot next to window drinking and cursing all night, no vending machines to get water. Had to drive 8 miles at midnight to find bottled water. No sleep. The property photos were done to make hotel nicer ( I am a photographer so I know the difference. It was dirty, no amenities and the staff and owner couldn’t care less.

We’ve loved our trips in the past, but this trip really went downhill! We were only allowed 2 towels, the sheets were dirty when we came, the water pressure was horrible and there was no soap or toilet paper

It clearly needed reprogramming…. Finally switched rooms to fix. Never a smile, thank you, just “they work on this TV”. Really an awful person who should work back of house jobs, not in front!!

Light out in the bathroom, microwave dirty, lamps dirty, towels dingy, coffee maker dirty, tub had someone else hair in it, ice container had black mold, door dirty. One front clerk desk took the complaint tried her best showed me another room it was dirty as well. Another clerk couldn’t accommodate because she feared loosing her job and the manager stated “I didn’t have to stay there”. Pictures wouldn’t upload talking about invalid or exceed size limit. Very inconvenient hmmmm

This property is about a 10 minute drive to the down town Savanah. The lobby and breakfast area is clean. The rooms however are small. They do not offer any doble rooms with queen beds. Also the sheets were stained as well as the toilets
- 1/5
Hotel and rooms are decent as the price. The front desk is very unfriendly. Not even greeting us. She yelled at me when I asked her to repeat what she said. She was not in a good mood. Not saying hi or buy. Very scary as hell. I don’t dear eat free breakfast here. If she is mean even in front of me, how dare I eat the food else prepared for guests?

Very noise place. It could be little more cleaning.I found cereal on my bedroom. The towels have stain on it.

We were put in the 1sr floor. Pet friendly flooe, we didn't have a pet. Dog barking crying howling. We were offered anither room, which turned out to be a disaster. Toilet ran, window shade broken, closet door hinge hanging off the door, molding missing off the wall. Breakfast no tongs for the bread and muffins, when I asked they had to go to the hotel next door to get them. Next morning no tongs again. The good parts are the beds are very comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful.

I found a used condom in my original room with stains on the bed. Staff accomodated my request for a new room. Regardless, that was very disgusting to find upon checking in. Beds aren't very comfortable either.

Bathroom exhaust sounded like a freight train. Loud enough to make you dizzy after 15-20 minutes in the bathroom. Every employee we met was polite and respectful. Anthony was amazing for St. Patrick’s Day shuttle services.

I honestly never went anywhere except my room.I was pleased with everything and would refer you'll or stay again.Thank You!

The van driver was THE ONLY positive thing about the motel! There was mold in the bathroom, pubic hairs on the “clean towels”, pubic hairs in the shower! Mold in shower, mold on shower curtain, stains on blinds and they didn't work! A/c worked nicely. Breakfast was nasty and cold and cereal was very stale! Front desk was ok (2 people) but most were extremely rude and unpleasant and wouldn't answer questions. It seemed to be a bother to them from sitting there laughing amongst themselves! The van driver was exceptional and super friendly and gave very helpful tips about the St Patry’s events. The elevator cert was expired 2 years ago!! Other than that there is absolutely no way I would ever stay there again! Pay the extra money and stay downtown! Or near the airport! Do not stay at the Iris!!! Gross!!!!

room: mold on the ac unit, bedside outlets were loose, walls were very thin and we the people in the room beside us were very loud and often tried to open our door instead of theirs. staff: staff was nice and helpful , no complaints. nothing outstanding location: a short drive into the tourist area of savannah and other fun places overall worth it for the price
- 4/5
Our room smelled as if someone smoke cigarettes in it and the decorative facing over the window fell off. No biggie but could be fixed. The receptionist was amazing, we loved her! There was a visiting receptionist from the hotel next door and she was rude as hell. Maybe stay next door, next time.
- 3/5
I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The hotel was very clean, and the common areas were modern and well-maintained. However, the room I stayed in felt quite outdated, and it seemed like it hadn’t been renovated in a long time. The bathroom, in particular, was noisy, and the bathtub had noticeable stains—not from dirt, but simply due to age. While cleanliness was not an issue, the older furnishings and worn-out fixtures made the room feel less comfortable. If the rooms were updated to match the style of the common areas, it would greatly improve the overall experience.
- 3/5
Rooms need a deep clean with leftover residue on bathroom doors as well as night tables. Showerheads have low pressure rooms do not feel upkeep as they should be.
- 2/5
This clearly used to be a smoking room because it still smells. It is old, pretty beat up and the bathroom was not clean at all. Only a beast up shade on the Windsor. Gross
- 3/5
The lady at the reception was too rude and unfriendly
- 3/5
Night shift staff was horrific. Couldn’t even look up from her tablet to address a towel issue for the number of people in our room. Out side of the hotel isn’t exactly the cleanest. However our stay was fine, room was cleaned daily. No one at the desk for early check out. Had hot water but the water pressure was horrific. Clean place to stay, but building does have an odor throughout . Convenient to restaurants and grocery.
- 3/5
The property is outdated. The room was clean enough, but really, really small. It is the location that is the real problem. Being near the port, trucks and trains rule. This was OK for one night but would NOT recommend for longer or with children. They admitted to being short- staffed, so service is "meh". The early morning desk clerk was really nice and helpful, however.

The exterior of the hotel looks like it was just refreshed. The lobby looks good too. The room was old and dated with paint missing/peeling. The bathroom looked good and the water pressure in the tub was excellent but when you turned on the shower, the water just dribbled out. It was barely enough to rinse your body.
