I stayed at Wingate for easy access to the beach, I am an IHG member and I totally regret my decision to stay at this Wingate. The property need to maintain the grounds. The parking lot is awful. They charge 15 dollars to park with no security. People park and walk to the beach for free. The pool is not maintained, according the front desk there are over 400 people swimming in the pool ( so that means you have to add more products, stop being so cheap) The stairwells are a hazard, easy to slip and fall. The TV in my room did not function properly, had a split screen. The toilet overflowed - lucky for me there was a plunger in the bathroom, I'm assuming this is an ongoing issue. I was accused of excessive toilet paper use. Last but not least, the lobby cameras are faulty, I was accused of having 8 people and multiple children in my room. Also I was accused of going to lobby for a lost key after midnight! Wasn't me!!! They never answer the front desk phone and the phone in the room does not work. I will say one thing, when i arrived the staff was either being nice or ficious, he said I would enjoy my room, think ficious. I did not enjoy my room at all! Stay away from this place

Dirty, mold. Messaged ahead that we would be arriving around 3 a.m. got to the hotel and found out we would have to pay an additional 15 dollars to park in the hotel parking lot. Went to our room and there were no blankets on the bed. No towels and wash rags or hand towels in the bath room. Room stunk, everything dirty, went back to the frount desk and told them about the situation. He said he would have the towes sent up and that there were blankets in the closet. No nothing but mold. Took a shower and walked straight to the bed. My feet was solid black from the dloor. Would have left but was stuck there because of the time.

We didn’t even stay!! My daughter and her family’s room was full of water on the floor, wet beds and terrible smell. She was given another room that was full of MOLD on the walls from the ceiling on down. They could not stay at this hotel. Because my husband and I were traveling with them we also could not stay and I refused to stay in a hotel that was so filthy. Hotels.com will not be used in my future travels if this is the type of hotels you are advertising.

For the price, you would expect a well kept property - outside and inside. That is not what you get here. As soon as we pulled up we had to double check the address, it was very run down. We get placed in a room on the first floor and as soon as we walked in you could tell how run down it was. The shower tiles were coming up, the shower curtain was dirty and moldy, we didn’t see it until the next morning, but the shower towels were dirty, the bed looked like it had mold on it, and the “repairs” that were done in the room were obvious and covered with paint. When I brought these issues up to the guy at the front desk, he tried to play them off. He explained the moldy looking bed as “the cleaning ladies mop bucket brushing up the side of the bed” and just said “those are our towels?” When I showed him pictures of the towels. He offered no apology just excuses. Poor poor experience.

Simply stay away. Find a better hotel or pay more to stay at another place. The hotel is disgusting, in a bad shape, and it is really dirty. When we entered the room, it looked like someone took a nap before we got there. The cover in the closet was just thrown there not even folded. There is no hook for the shower head, you have to hold it the whole time. The shower head hose is broken, the water spreads everywhere. The floor towel was dirty. The baseboards were all separating from the walls. Bugs and roaches everywhere. I booked this hotel despite the bad reviews, because it was conveniently located, and we thought it was for one night, how bad could it be? Unfortunately, the answer is it was really bad, beyond what I imagined. BTW, we asked to change the room at the front desk attendant was rude and dismissive of our concerns. He reluctantly gave us another room, which was just as bad as the first one.

My room was ok, it was clean at check in. One floor towel, one shower towel thats it. Comforters were in the closet for some reason. Breakfast was not good at all. Waffle mix was watered down and only had 2 cereal options. Some fruits, bread and croissants. Apple juice, orange juice and watered down coffee. It's a cheap no frills motel across from the beach. They do charge $15 a day for parking.

Elevator didn't work and we were on 3rd floor, no blankets on beds , no towels in room, had to walk up and down stairs 6 times , 1st time to go get towels and blankets but they said blankets was in closet and gave me towels, got back to room and blankets was not in closet, went back to get blankets and got back to room , no face towels so I had to go back to get face towels, chair in room had vinyl peeling all over room , I had to sweep it outside at checkout, I will never go there again I didn't like anything about it

I normally don’t leave reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others before they waste their hard-earned money on this place. This was by far one of the filthiest and most disgusting motels I have ever stayed in. The moment we walked into the room, we were hit with a strong smell of mold that never went away. The room was dirty, poorly maintained, and completely unacceptable. Here are just some of the issues we experienced: Black stains on the bed sheets • Moldy, musty odor throughout the room • Sink was clogged • Bathroom door would not close properly • Chewing gum stuck to the walls • Terrible Wi-Fi reception • Dirty breakfast area with food that appeared to have been sitting out for days • No proper blankets, only a thin sheet . Microwave with E error Nasty fridge We booked a 4-night stay but could only endure 2 nights before checking out early because the conditions were so bad. The smell alone was enough to make us leave. What makes this even worse is that we personally witnessed multiple other families complaining about many of the exact same issues. Clearly, management is aware of these problems and has chosen not to fix them. This property appears to have little regard for cleanliness, guest comfort, or basic maintenance standards. If you value your health, comfort, and money, do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. There are plenty of hotels in the area. This should not be one of your options. You’ve been warned

The stay was terrible! I arrived and right away I was charged for parking $45 and I was given a dirty room. The cleaning lady was doing the beds while we were waiting inside the room. I then went to the front desk and asked to see if they would provide me with another room. They did, but the sheets were dirty, there were roaches and the floor was dirty. They never went to go take our trash out or to change our sheets. It was horrible! The Internet was not working on the TV. We couldn’t login into Netflix or any other streaming app. My son went to the front desk to complain twice about the Internet, not working and the front desk person told me he would go upstairs to fix the Internet in my room and never went upstairs to fix it. I will not be staying at this hotel again if I decide to go to next year‘s Beach Soccer Tournament horrible! horrible! horrible! place to stay. As I was checking out I asked to be provided with a number to corporate and the front desk told me I could call but not would be done about it. Never again will I stay in this place again. The front desk personnel are rude.

Air conditioner worked great. If you are a cold sleeper like we are we brought our own blankets and pillows because there are only thin sheets on the bed. We did not experience any bugs in our room.

Nothing Hotel rooms were very dirty. Dead bugs on floor and beds. Went into room and immediately went back to the front desk to cancel and ask for refund. Was told Id get no charge only to have them not cancel my stay and still charge me. Spoke with a Wyndham customer care rep and was told I cannot receive refund due to me using my stay when in reality me and my pregnant wife were in the room 5 minutes and decided it was not worth staying in.

This is by far the most disgusting motel I have ever seen. This Wingate, Wyndham seawall Boulevard is ruining the reputation of Hotels.com. I would bar them from any further business. I am also reporting them to the health department because of black mold everywhere. I could not stay here even though I had paid without refund for one night stay which I am refuting charges with my bank.

The things I didnt like about it was the appearance from the outside appeared run down. The was no shampoo in the shower and the conditioner was broke. The bed is sitting on a flat frame making the bed really hard and uncomfortable. Oh and I didn't like the fact that there was a hold on my card even tho I prepaid in advance. This hotel apparently charges its guest a $15 non refundable parking fee as well which is ridiculous in my opinion. The continental breakfast only had waffles cereal and toast, no eggs or protein included. Next time ill pick a different hotel.

The TV and three full lines of blacked out pixels. The shower head leaked all over the floor. It was leaking from the connector at the top of the detachable shower head. Outlet covers were broken, bed sounded like it was going to break every time you moved. Couldn’t park in front of our room. Paint was chipped, drywall damage and a musty smell. Complete shame because the location is perfect. Can’t believe Wyndham has their name attached to this property. Paid $457 for two nights and didn’t even sleep on the sheets because of how bad the room was. We slept on top of the blankets. Asking why we stayed? Had no choice it was Memorial Day weekend. A refund would be the only acceptable way to correct this situation

The room was adequate. It wasn't dirty. The light switch fell off and wasn't even screwed in. The lamp had no lampshade. The vent in the bathroom was not covered and full of dust. The smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling. There were no towels. We had to go to the office to get them.

Rooms were dirty, so was property around the hotel. Are t v didn't work?It needed a parental passcode, and the guy at the front desk said he was gonna come look at it, and he never showed up. The breakfast area was not operational. It was just disgusting. I will never stay there again.

First when I get there I wasn’t feeling welcome, I got my key for my room, and they asked me if I had a car, I said yes. Then they told me I had to pay extra $15 for the parking. Then I never got anything for my car, like a sticker or anything they just said park in front of ur room. Second, I went to my room, and I didn’t see any blankets. I had to request for them. Third when I use the sink the water came out of it and I had water all over the floor. My daughter took a shower and water came through the ceiling and walls. I went to the reception desk and I been told to wait until someone else comes in to check the room. I asked to get another room and they said they didn’t have any additional rooms, I waited two hours and nothing happened, seems like they only had one person working. Worst experience of my life.

They do not refresh the room every other and I asked the employees cleaning and didn't have enough towels to exchange even after 2 days stay. The humidity in the room was so bad that the walls were really damaged and the floor was always wet. Location is good, right infront the beach but I do not recomend for families with kids due the lack of cleanliness.

This place is false advertisement. First room we got was covered in black mold everywhere beds included, so they moved us to the room next door. It also had some black mold even one of the pillows had mold. I went to thr office around 1:00am and asked for a couple extra pillows and was told it was to late bc house keeping is closed and that it was almost 1 am. Like I didnt know the time. If there was a lower rating I would have went lower. We had to stay bc the was no refunds. Im allergic to mold so it was a very long night

The location of the facility was great! However, the outside was dirty and run down especially for the price. Also, I called the front desk to let them know we would be gone all day but, we needed some clean towels and asked if someone could drop them off. I was told no. Window was dirty could barely see out of it. There was no information posted about amenities. Breakfast was only 7-9 on a sunday. Pool had an odd color. Room - tv had a spot over 1/3 of the screen. Remote did not work. Only had one towel. When i asked for wash clothes and towels they were sent up immediately. Shampoo and sosp dispenser were empty. Bathroom fan very noisy. No drinking cups in room. Comforters were stained.

I understand this is a budget hotel, but basic hygiene and maintenance are the bare minimum. This place feels run down, poorly managed, and not cared for at all. I asked for a bottom room wife is handicapped He put us totally around the back of the building it really looked sketchy...unsafe.... The room terrible...stains..dirt....rust....bad patch jobs on walls...yellow tub...rust around faucet...crack out of top of mirror...sheets were not fresh...pillows look slept on....no way to get my money back...we left....and did not stay there...we literally were afraid to even sit on the bed. Bad Hotel i do not recommend.

This place was terrible! Extremely dirty and gross. When we got to our room, there were stains on the sheets, one of the beds wasn’t made, mold in the shower, dirty toilet and when we asked to get another room, the attendant refused, we then asked for refunds he claimed he could not giving me a refund confirmation or show me that he canceled my reservation. I never received any refund. He was lying and was extremely rude and unprofessional. There were other guests in the lobby. Also complaining of the exact same thing. I do not recommend this place.

Nice older facility in easy access location. Parking was very open with plenty of space available. Good viewing of the ocean from the front. Rooms were clean and maintained. I was greeted with a friendly welcome, which was short-lived when I questioned my bill. Turned out they add a $15/day fee for parking, which was never brought up, and the lady at the front desk would not compromise. The room was what I reserved but very dilapidated with half-done repairs to the walls. One of the quilts on the beds was markedly dirty and had not been washed. I went back to the front desk, and the lady did not want to give me a clean quilt. I just stood there, so she went to get her husband, who came out and didn't want to help me either. He said -and I quote - "Ma'am, we don't have many things here," implying they didn't have any extra quilts. I replied, "You don't have ANY clean quilts anywhere?" He rolled his eyes and told me to follow him. I followed him through the property to the laundry room where he went in and quickly returned with a folded quilt. This welcome was less than what I had hoped for after a long drive. It honestly was a horrible stay. The cockroaches were more welcoming than the front desk. HOWEVER, the checkout process was smooth and friendly (there was another man who checked us out). And I noticed that other families were enjoying the free breakfast. I didn't poke around to see what was served, but the general mood was joyful. I would never recommend this hotel, and if you are left with no other hotel options, there's always camping, which would be 1,000% better.

The room was disgusting. As soon as I walked the room, I walked right back out and checked out of the hotel. I did not put a bag down in that nasty room. Soon as I stepped in I saw the multiple knats flying around, the room smelled horrible, the bathtub was not clean, painting missing of the walls. I expressed all of this to the person at the front desk and asked to get my money back. A customer that was ahead of me was already complaining about her room that she had just checked into and I thought she was overreacting until I saw my room. I am really hoping they refund me my money. I was taking a chance at booking at that hotel due to me booking last minute once I was on the beach. NEVER EVER EVER will I book there again. That place just needs to be shut down immediately at least until they can remodel and get a better staff.

The room was dirty. There was no blanket, only an extremely thin sheet. I know it's a "cheap" hotel (not really), but compared to the rest of Galveston. However, my kids were absolutely freezing the entire night. I've never heard of a hotel not having a blanket; it was mind-boggling. The bathroom was dirty. The lamp on/off switches were literally caked in gunk. I was so close to just leaving, but I had nowhere to go, and it was only for a quick sleep. I wouldn't dare stay here again.

1 out of 10 stars. I’d give it a zero if I could. Run down, nothing like the online pics. The first room had a clogged tub with water on it constantly leaking/dripping. Second room same thing but not quite as loud as first room. Still terrible. I saw a theme here. I booked through hotels.com so getting a refund was something I didn’t want to tackle with on my wedding night. The room was dirty, stains on bed linens, dirty floors, no complimentary toiletries as advertised. Just a mess. Don’t stay here. You’re welcome.

The room smelled of mildew. Our clothes took on the mildew smell also. The bathroom fixtures were corroded and scratched. The vanity light had been replaced with a smaller light which showed the painted outline of the old larger light. There were scratches on the walls with plaster/drywall showing. The nightstand lights had corroded metal and one sparked when my wife plugged in her USB adapter. There were several large bugs crawling around and dust/dirt on top of the blow dryer plug. The building had a newer coat of paint that looked good in the photos, but in person it was a coverup for obvious wear and age. Just a miserable dirty and smelly room that we had to endure for one night before our cruise that cost us $190. Not recommended at all, at any price.

Do not stay here worst experience ever ac in room was not working after booking two rooms in which both TVs did not work after the front desk argued with me about the AC they reluctantly move me to another room where the TV also did not work. They have people in the hallway, smoking substance and people playing dice games outside very unsafe. Property left the same day property still refusing to give me a refund as of now I have complained with Wyndham and with Expedia and I am waiting to see about my refund as of now, I am out of it do not stay here. Pool was not clean. Outside of hotel was dirty and trashy. Elevator out of order. Stairs steps broken ,I almost fell down a flight of stairs. Tiolet not flushing, staff didnt want to hand out towels. Got charged a deposit and 15 dollars for no reason. Will never stay here again.

The door did not automatically lock as it should and the lock to prevent someone from pushing the door open from the outside was broken. I was told the lock was working perfectly fine and safe to stay here. It did not feel safe at all. I initially was told the hotel was full and there were no other rooms available and then when I asked to speak to a manger to get my money back so I could stay somewhere else suddenly I could be moved to another room. By this point I was no longer willing to stay here. No manager on duty nor would one be available until Monday morning. Staff on duty couldn’t tell me if I would get a refund or not. Not acceptable and very poorly handled. My reservation was cancelled because I was being too loud when I couldn’t get any answers but I was still charged. So I got to pay for two hotel rooms for 1 person. Also, Is not nearly as clean and inviting as the pictures depicted.

The front desk person wasn't interested in doing his job. He was rude & rushed. There was no remote in my room, when I went to the front desk to request one, he was rude & gave me one that doesn't work. I would've called the front desk, but the phone wasn't operational. There' was hair all in the bath tub & shower surround. The beds were uncomfortable. Overall, for the price, I'd stay elsewhere. Definitely not worth what I paid.

This is a very plain hotel. Our room was dirty and not well maintained. The pool was green so we did not even attempt. No coffee available in the morning.... They lock the lobby and won't let you in. It is a long walk down to all the activities on the Pier. They also charge you for parking.. I would not recommend this hotel.

Even more alarming, the electrical box for the AC unit was rusted, corroded, and visibly opened causing an unsafe risk of electrocution, fire hazards, and equipment failure—conditions that should never exist in an occupied guest room. The room was decent, the foot boards were falling off, the room smelled, the sink didn’t drain. Then there was the breakfast it was in a small little corner in the front. Spac eenough for maybe 5 people to stand. Food was minimum and not worth the wait when the line grew. It was overpriced for the hotel itself. I did not get the room I reserved. The elevator didn’t work for over an hour. We had no blankets or towels and when we asked for them the staff were very rude. Property was dirty. Definitely nothing like the pictures indicate. The breakfast was terrible and when another customer mentioned the juice was not mixed properly he was scolded by staff and told him he was rude for saying the juice wasn’t good. Until he ran it himself and said oh yea it’s not mixing but offered no apologies to the customer he was so rude to. Would not recommend this location to anyone!

Not what we expected for a Wyndham - more motel than hotel. On the upside, the location is close to the beach and the bed was clean and comfortable. But ... all three dispensers in the shower were empty and moldy, water in the sink was a trickle, the pool needed to be cleaned, and the breakfast was closed down early. OK for one night.

I emailed hotel twice to see if we could check in early as we were traveling with two dogs and never had a response. We arrived two hours early to inquire and was told we had to pay 35$ to check in early. An older man and his grandson came in and after I had paid this ridiculous fee he pitched a fit and the lady helping me told the young guy that was checking them in to just give him his keys....So I paid, he did not they were next door to us and unloading car while we were. We were also charged 15$ to park in their parking lot after paying a high fee for such a sub par hotel. Very noisy in room from people coming and going and NO coffee maker in room. Pool water was cloudy as well. The only thing nice was the fact that you can walk through parking lot right to a light at Seawall and walk across to an entrance to the beach.

Got checked in and went to our room first thing I notice was the room nor the property was very clean. We were there long enough for my son to use the bathroom only to find out the toilet did not work! When we called the front desk about it they blamed us and said we must have flushed too much toilet paper. Keep in mind my son peed, so no toilet paper needed! Then said they would have to send the maintenance man and it would be roughly 30 ish minutes. I didn’t say long enough to wait. After I spent dang near $300 for the stay I ended up spending another $300 on a much better, cleaner hotel with a working toilet. We also had no WiFi! I will NEVER book here again!

There are no words for this stay. This hotel is absolutely filthy. We stayed here because they had a breakfast plan which consisted of a waffle maker. The freshwater consisted of floating plastic fruit, and floating plastic ice when we signed up to take a shuttle to the port for our cruise, the manager tried to squeeze us into his personal broken down vehicle and we weren’t going to fit. He was going to make two trips. It was extremely dangerous and shady and then wouldn’t give us our money back after he lied to us and told us it was a shuttle we’d be riding with a bunch of people. The pool was mucky and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months when we pulled back the covers to go to bed. My daughter had a spider in her bed and mine look like it had ticks in it all in all there is no way I would send my worst enemy to this hotel.

Upon arrival to the room there was only one comforter in a double room. It was clearly not clean. The soap at the sink was empty, the shower dispensers were also empty. There was no wifi, the telphone in the room did not work. Breakfast bar was almost out of syrup, I had to put out the plates and stock the forks myself and the apple juice was water.

The beds for a double were twin beds not enough room, very small space there was a coke can beside on of the beds. So this was just u basic motel. Nothing was super nice and fancy. Honestly was not the worst one as far as cleaning and falling apart. For the price i paid i expected less. Staff was helpful but not really cause we couldnt get wash rags, some kind of weird shortage. Only got 3 washrags for 3 people for 4 nights. I will say we did get 3 more before we left. The breakfast was alright for free you could find something to fill you up. The staff was very helpful in giving us another room card because we needed 2. It was nice to walk across the street and put ur toes in the sand. The beds were full sized and we all slept well. The fridge in the room was so frozen couldnt fit our left overs. So i defrosted it for em cause i didnt want to spend time getting ice for my coolerfor 4 days. I would stay here again for the price but my family is kinda bougie they said never again.

Tried to cancel my 2nd night as soon as we saw the room. Front desk to me to contact the manager, but they are not available on weekends. Checked out after first night. The room should not have been in service. It was dirty upon arrival. The bathtub faucet was running, toilet would not fill after flushing, there was only sheets on the bed, no comforters in the room, a lamp that would not turn off without having to unplug it, said lamp was plugged into a surge protector that was a broken fire hazard. Had to go to the desk to get blankets. When I was given the blankets at the laundry room, I proceeded to fix up the beds. One of the blankets hard rusty reddish stains. The purple wall had a very visible green something all over the wall. The complimentary breakfast would have been disappointing if the room wasn’t so bad. When I tried to talk to the desk about the issues with the room, the man was very rude. My son was playing a game on the common computer while I was trying to discuss issues. The guy behind the desk that was in a dirty stained t-shirt that read some people think some people learn, got rude with my son telling him it’s no, not game time, get off. The man had attitude with me while I was telling him I wanted to talk to a manager. He took my name and number. I still have not gotten a call from the manager.

We returned to the main office and asked to have another unit since the one given had many issues including outlets not working. The second was a little better, but we decided none would be better, so we stayed. The breakfast served were the bare minimum and with not up to par servings units. The nastiest hotel I’ve been in for that price. I made a mistake double booking a different hotel, which was my fault but I couldn’t find which account it was booked incorrectly under. The owner/manager/ father had his family behind the front seat. He and his wife enjoyed having my free money . They reuse disposable items like key sleeves. It’s pretty nasty.

The property itself looked old and uncared for. The staff was unavailable to take calls while we tried to remedy the situation with Hotels.com. We couldn't get a refund after deciding to leave The room was filty, floors and furniture all scratched up. The shower hadn't been cleaned, or the shampoo or soap filled, it so full of dirt and residue from previous bottles. Most of the tiles in the shower floor were broken. The mirrors were all old and needed to be replaced, towel rack was ripped from the wall. The ceiling was dirty and had cobwebs in the corner. The airconditioning/heating unit had a ball of exposed wires underneath. All of the furnishings were old, stained and worn out. The tv screen was being held together by packing tape. There was the biggest ball of hair, dirt and leaves attached to a lamp cord, so much hair we initially thought it was a dead animal. The worst of all was mold on the bed skirt....actual mold! Couldn't get out of there fast enough.... After almost an hour on the phone with Hotels.com they were able to get us into another hotel, which we paid for, was unable to get a hold of the hotel staff and as of yet we've received no refund for this horrible hotel. Extremely disappointed!!

I am surprised that Wyndham allows this property to operate under their name. Just the appearance of the property itself screams negligence. The room was horrible. And then we got to the room. We opened the door and entered. Neither bed was ‘made’ very well, and only one had a pillow. We had been traveling a long time and dashed for the bathroom and found the faucets caked in calcified buildup (pictures show they’re long past ‘replacement’ stage), one hand towel - no bath towels or washcloths - a leaking faucet for the tub, and, after flushing the toilet, the need to take off the lid to stop the overflow. The wall section visible between the toilet and tub was quite water-stained and discolored. And there were a couple of highly visible smears/scars/streaks on the wall (like shoes or something had been strongly scuffed/dragged across it) on the other side of the sink. To say it was a ‘dump’ would be giving it credit. The only thing missing in the exterior appearance was a couple of homeless drunks laying up against the walls. I’ve been to a few really seedy hostels over my years - but none matched this one. We went to the desk and told them we were checking out NOW and they humbly offered to give us another room. But we had seen what they had to offer, and we didn’t want any.

This property was a motel not a hotel for drug addicts and prostitutes. Its not Hotels.com’s fault that the property was falsely advertised but they should have some way to contact them to address the issue but they do not. We will never use Hotels.com ever again!!!

Upon opening the door of the hotel room, I smelled mold and found it mostly behind the beds on the wall... I am allergic to mold. I saw a paper on the front desk reminding the staff to check for mold so clearly this has been an issue for them. So we went to the front desk and he was incredibly rude. However, got a room 2 blocks down at the Hilton that was fabulous (and they say they get business from this particular Wyndham often) Since then, I have been trying to get a refund and the Wyndham refuses & they are stating that we did stay there and made up lies that we had breakfast the next morning and even asked for extra towels - LIES! So Expedia will not refund me as Wyndham will not release the funds. Terrible place for so many reasons.

This is a poorly kept establishment that is advertising as a nice hotel but is essentially a drive up motel with unkempt rooms as well as a dirty pool and a small pot hole filled parking lot. I took several pictures of previous tenants hair in the shower and around the bathroom as well as decaying hardware throughout the room and bathroom. They also advertise free on site parking, but charged $15 per night for on site parking. When I asked the front desk why parking is an additional cost when it’s advertised as included I received a blank expression and “that’s what we charge” as an explanation. It does have a convenient location of being on the corner at the crosswalk to the beach access, but this is not worth staying at such a low place. I cancelled my future reservations and instead booked a block down the street at a MUCH nicer hotel for only $10/night more

I paid for 3-days and was locked out of the room with all belongings still in there after one night, went to the hospital came back Saturday night and was awakened by the phone ringing at 4:00 am! I did sleep at all I have the worst headache ever! Over all not a bad stay. Hotel was not full but had room in rear. None of the wall outlets worked . Beds were comfortable. Lamps showed corrosion even though one of them worked. Fridge was cold tv was less than desirable but sufficed…. Breakfast….coffee had no sugar or creamer available Black only.

When we arrived, the AC unit was barely cooling, if you can call it that. Next the TV was not working! No channels were accessible. I notified the front desk and the maintenance man came out. He was not able to fix it and left. An hour later, about 8pm, he came back and unplugged the TV and it finally started working. At this time I told him that the AC unit was not cooling and he just said to give it some time. The room never cooled down. The next morning at breakfast I told the same maintenance man that the AC did not cool the room. He never came to check the AC. At about 2pm, we could not stay in the room anymore and checked out early. At checkout I told the desk person we were checking out due to lack of cooling! I would like a full refund and an apology. In the future I will not be staying at any Wyndham property!

This is an old hotel that needs some upgrades badly. The room had several things wrong with it, the bed is absolutely unacceptable I needed to have 4 sheets on the bed due to hair being on the uncovered mattress. It was hair balls in the corner of the bathroom floor. And they have the nerves to charge for parking. It was a last minute thing for the rally never ever again!!!!!

Room smelt like bleach - was clean. Bed was comfy. But rooms do not match the picture as described- the ac did not work. We had it in 60 and it was still hot - hotel is an older hotel. Over all it was ehhh for a one night stay but I won’t be back. Asked the lady up front how much the can soda was and she said 3 dollars- just outrageous. Parking is 15 dollars which I was not aware of - I asked for a receipt at check in and was told to get it in the morning at checkout but we had to leave at 430am for surgery. So I did not receive a receipt!

Mold and rust in the shower, tiles on the bathroom floor missing. Rust on the lamps on the nightstands. Floor were dirty. When we checked in we were charged an additional $15 a night per vehicle to park. There was water damage on the ceiling and walls that had been cover up. The staff said they would come by and look at the room but never did. I tried to get a refund and they refused to issue one.

Entering the room, the floors had a “residue film” all over, bathroom included. I noticed a small dead roach, which I was able to sweep out the room. I had to call Front desk because the tv would not turn on!! I was informed, someone was going to be there to check it….20 minutes later….No One came!! I started noticing the other things …..BUGS crawling in the bed & pillow!!!! I immediately took a picture….Grabbed the pillow went to the Front desk. The Very Nice man/ manager/??? Moved us to another room. He said it was a Sand Bug!! 🙄Not a Sand Bug…A Bed Bug! It was Biker Weekend, all hotels were booked. We had to stay….With Raid in hand! Because the Man/ Manager was very nice, I couldn’t go Crazy…Bed Bugs, Really! Don’t Play Me Down like that!

A mess I went during the Lone Star Rally - first after checking in online with uploading tdl and verifying credit card to finally getting to the Bates Motel sorry the Wingate. Just plain horrible the pictures on line is a total fraud - lies lies . Management couldn’t explain why I had to give them my card yet again after booking and paying with same card for them to run to pay for parking which wasn’t in the original booking but I digress. I then get room key to finally make it up to the ocean view room a TOTAL disaster I actually paid extra for the ocean view Ineed to grow another leg and kick my own self-in the butt. The room was mildewing and musty, dirty holes in walll nearest floor paint chipping oh my not to mention the outside raggedly had to literally kick the bottom off door to open it due to it being stuck; thank goodness I carry Lysol n spray I must have sprayed until I choked. I’m still in disbelief of this property. Pictures available- literally a place for drug heads n vagrants. Wasn’t happy at all but was our last resort to no rooms available. For those that are trying to book look elsewhere.

The entire property was run down and in need of repairs and renovations. While the staff was friendly, it didn't make up for the overall poor quality of the facilities. Our room was not in the cleanest of conditions, and I noticed two small cockroaches in the bathroom.

Arrived 90 minutes before standard check in time. Though the motel was virtually empty, and the desk manager told me they had rooms available, they would not check me in unless i paid an early checkin fee. The place is a dump. This is a basic, older motel. Set your expectations accordingly. But it's in an excellent beach-front location close to historic east-end Galveston. It was not perfectly clean, but still okay. Breakfast options were limited. The staff was very accommodating. The area felt safe and was walkable.

For the price of this hotel, It is not worth it. The whole place needs a renovation. The doors look like they haven't been painted in years. The rooms are horrible they have rust inside them. The air conditioner sounds like a loud creaky door when it cuts off. They give you stained towels. There are no amenities whatsoever. The breakfast was a joke. The only thing they offer for breakfast is waffles and orange juice. Then on top of everything else and they don't tell you this when they Check-in they actually charge you $15 for parking at a hotel that you are staying at.

When we first started up to our room, my first thought was oh goodness is someone going to come around the corner and mug us. As we approached our room, we saw a nasty rag lying on the ground in front of our room. When we opened the door the first thing I noticed was the dust on the tv cabinet and my Sister said oh my gosh there is dirt on this bed. After thoroughly going over the sheets it was very evident they had not been changed since it was last occupied. We quickly decided we had made a terrible mistake and did not want to stay there. When I asked the woman at the front desk to refund my money she said it was against the policy and she offered to give me another room. I told her I didn’t want another room I just wanted a refund. I asked her to refund my money for parking while we were on our cruise that was charged to my credit card. She took my card and then handed it back to me and I said I will need a receipt for refunding my money and she told me I could look on my credit card statement and refused to give me a receipt. I can not express how deeply frustrating and dissatisfied I was with this hotel. I can’t believe this was a Hilton hotel. I had read other reviews and saw that they had 4 1/2 stars. Please let me save you the same frustration we went through. Do NOT book this hotel. I wish someone would have warned me!

The room had Mike on the ceiling!!! E we did not have a blanket to cover up with. Only a very thin bed spread and only 3 towels to a room that we booked for 4 people. Our room that we got was not the best. The shower or the bathtub faucet constantly dripped when we walked in there. There was a pile of water all over the floor, and there was a towel hanging on the back of the door. I thought somebody had stayed in the room before us. The bed was still made and stuff. There was rust all over the lamp. There was dirt around the TV stand. We didn’t have a comforter so we froze the first night because we got there late ended up having to ask for a comforter and they asked me four times if I had one, and I kept telling them no It’s not the worst place we’ve stayed at, but it’s definitely not the best if we had her kids with us I probably would’ve got a different hotel but it was just my husband and I so we just stayed. The beds were soft though that was a plus it’s really close to the beach. The breakfast is literally a waffle juice, a croissant or bread and that’s it and every time I went in there the waffle maker or the waffle mix wouldn’t come out and then they gave me rags, but it was like cut up towels. We’re all frayed.

When we arrived there was about 20 people in the lobby. Some were yelling and complaining about different things. The site we booked on did not mention the $15 parking fee for the hotel. We should have left then. While the room was ocean view, we did not expect to climb steep stairs, some were loose, to the third floor. Trash cans were overflowing on the property. While our key card worked, several people were having to go up and down the stairs to the office to get new key cards, more than once. The room was subpar. The TV did not work. We did not eat the breakfast the next morning, unsure of how that went. Once we checked out, we drove down the road and stayed at another hotel for the rest of the vacation.

The handsoap was empty, the hairdryer didn't work and television kept turning on and off. We had to fight with other guests for breakfast. There was no butter, syrup, or coffee. For the price paid in mid September, I did not expect a disappointment like this. Rusted lamps, poor patch jobs in the walls, small, early 2000s tv, bedding with MANY body fluid stains(not sure if the sheets were fresh), mini fridge froze everything the first night and when it was barely turned down, everything was warm, toilet clogged, multiple attempts to access the door, low to zero land maintenance, green floor spots in the pool, fresh water clean off did not work, lose railing nearly sent me to my car below, instantly from the second floor, and worker cleaning off second and third floors by spraying washed it all on our vehicles.... there's more but I won't nitpick.

First attendant was rude and poorly dressed. We had made reservations for 7 nights. He set up for 6 nights. In order for 7th night we were charged more than double the rate per night of first 6 nights. 1st attendant didn't tell us hours of breakfast, nor wifi password. Telephone in room didn't work. Wifi worked in lobby, but not in our room. I told 1st attendant about it and he just sort of grunted and walked away. After 4th night with no maid service I went to lobby to request, as phone wasn't working. Only maid service for 7 days came next day. Pathway to ice machine and lower rooms had trash and non functioning a/c units. I took pictures but can't attach. Second attendant who worked during our last 2 days was polite, well dressed and professional.

Our room was dirty, they didn’t give us any extra towels or blankets we had 2 top sheets as a blanket. 1 large towel, 2 hand towels no wash cloths, no floor mats. The pillows were horrible. The outside shower at the pool was broken, the handicap chair for the pool was broken. When I asked for extra towels and a blanket the maids said they couldn’t give me any more. Our experience started at check in. We sat there in lobby at 345 and clerk would not check in before 4pm, unless we paid $30. Lamps in room were metal and rusted. Little to no hot water.Sink dirty. Coffee in lobby, but no milk available, even when we asked. Breakfast breads were stale, hard as rock, days old, only cereal and waffles available. Outside grounds dirty and unkempt. Place should be condemned. Wyndham should be ashamed to call this one of their properties.

The location was perfect, the conditions were not. This hotel needs serious TLC! Outside: parking lot was littered with trash, grass was very over grown, paint was peeling. Indoors: lamps and plumbing fixtures were rusty and corroded, the bathtub drizzled (heavier than a drip) constantly, and the neighbor had a large dog that barked all night. Bedding was either stained or dirty…would never stay here again or recommend to anyone.

The hotel does not clean the room each day while you stay. It’s their policy. What hotel does not clean your room daily? Our floors were sticky when we arrived. We had to ask for it to be cleaned 2 days in because of all the beach sand, and they were reluctant to clean, but we finally got them to come do it. They only gave us 2 towels for 4 people, so when they came to clean, we asked for more clean towels. They gave us 3 towels, either stained or dirty. One night at 3am, a lady was screaming and beating on someone’s door for the person to give her baby back. This went on until the police showed up. The front desk staff were extremely rude. The older woman was nice, but I only saw her briefly the first day. The other two men were terrible. They were reluctant to help in any way. I requested a room on the main level because my husband has a bad hip, and his response to me was that they have an elevator. After some arguing, he did give me a ground floor room. We had to pay $15 per night for using the parking lot. No parking pass was given. How would they even know if someone drove in without having paid the fee? Breakfast was completely gone by 9:00. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Checking in was late, no coffee as per reservation outside was really dirty, parking was too expensive and not enough parking. 3 towels in room for 4 people and when we tried to get towels they wouldn’t bring them and they were out. View of beach was great

The room we had did not have any comforters on the bed and trash can - and when we informed the front office they said they would bring them and never did. We had to go to Walmart to purchase blankets. The telephone did not work and they only had one roll of toilet paper in the room reserved for two children and two adults. The only positive thing was the AC system was working properly and was cold for the hot weather.

Give yourself plenty of time for your struggle to open the door, the handle likes to take its time. Shower head like to spray the ceiling not more than your body. Beds, linens and such have an odor you won’t be a fan of. Their staff aren’t friendly at all. Plus its VERY hard go understand them. I wish the pictures weren’t so deceptive, if i had known i would’ve never booked here. Rather pay more and be elsewhere. Talk about ruining a stay.

Room was advertised as having 2 queen size beds but really had 2 full size. The power outlets on the desk lamp were loose and needed replacement. But the closeness of the beach was really good. On-site personnel were good but need a little more practice with the English language.

This place is so dirty and gross!!! Do not reserve this place. Room smelled linens were dirty with stains and the mattress was horrible with stains...took one look and turned around and checked out. No manager on site and very iffy if I'll get my money back...This place needs to be taken off Hotels.com website

Just like cuz is in the front beach but they don't cleaning the room everyday no pool towels and the pool have alge ( little green) was talking to the front desk guy and no fix that also they charge the parking 15.00 per day is ridiculous but anyway tk. Nex time find it other place much comfortably.

I can’t to your location, a second time. In my experience was horrible. The attendant was not very nice to my wife and got into an altercation with her during check-in. Then I was charged three times for my hotel stay. Which left my banking account very minimal for my vacation so all we could do was eat sandwiches that we had already bought and brought with us. Like I said this is the second time that I’ve stayed in your facility and there has been no change or any repairs within the year that me and my family have stayed. There were moly spots on the ceiling missing texture on the ceiling plus there was mold in the closet plus the smell of mold and mildew. Also, there were no secondary lock on the door. It was broke. Beer cans and bottles littered the parking lot which also was in horrible condition. Overall, for nearly $230 for a night it seemed way overpriced for the type of hotel we stayed at.

We reserved ocean front, did not get—no big deal because seeing the view out of the window wouldn’t have been worth it. The rooms were dirty, not wiped down. The bed sheets and toilet were clean—thank goodness, the towels were clean but heavily stained. Breakfast was an absolute joke.

I called to confirm local hotel the reservation. The person picked up the phone was rude and had communication problem. The hotel is very old and dirty. I will never come back to this place. BTW, they did charge $15 per cars parked on the parking lot.

The staff never provided us the wifi password, there was no soap, no cups, the door was broken, the bed sunk down when you sat on it, the supposed breakfast buffet was just garbage food, no eggs,sausage etc.

Got charged $100 for incidentals. I called to ask what the charge was for and I could barely understand what the guy was saying… Kinda pieced it all together and they said it was the toiletry “holder” they said was broken off the wall along with all the toiletries AND towels missing…..??? I told them the situation and that we definitely didn’t take any of these items, he said “it is what it is, that is the fee” and hung up the phone. I am MIND BOGGLED at this point… As i mentioned, i’ve stayed here multiple times (about 8-10 to be specific!), and now i don’t know if i will again… SHAME!!

Once we arrived to see the condition of the hotel. We arrived early to find a rude woman at the front when we told her we understood we couldn’t check in but asked if we Could use the pool until check in time she scoffed and walked off. The outside had rotten doorframes and leaking A/C units - there was blotchy paint and the lobby was filthy.

The hotel staff never provided towels for the room despite multiple requests. The room was in very poor condition. Lamps and faucets were rusty, desk chair fabric was worn, phone didn’t work, furniture and walls were damaged. The sheets had holes in them and the comforter was dirty or had a stain. When we checked in the breakfast area was so dirty 5 hours later. Empty boxes of cereal on the floor near the trash were great value Walmart brand, there were breads still out in the serving box, the lobby bathroom was out of order.

Our room had bed bugs! Our son got bit. We told the front staff and they had no idea what to do or say. We checked out immediately, woke our kids up and cut our family trip short. We drove 5 hours home in the middle of the night disappointed. We requested a full refund.

Nothing will never ever reserved there it was to celebrate my bday 62 and couldn’t even get in the pool. Plus they charged me $30 for 2 days of parking I should have got some kind of discount or money back for having a pool full of algae. And the breakfast is coffee and you make your own waffle. Did not clean the room at least take out the trash but not even same towels for two days of stay. Terrible worst experience ever.

The location and the facilities were good. Just across the street from the gulf. The couple upstairs stomping and yelling and slamming doors for 3 hours was the only negative.

We arrived, expecting a nice place, since it is listed as a Wyndham Property. Paint was peeling on the sidewalks, where they had been painted, door handles were rusted, elevator was dirty, and with these things in view, still proceeded into the room. Sheets were clean, windows and curtains were unclean, tv wasn't working properly, had employee try to fix it, they said that's all we can do, so my 89 year old Dad wasn't happy. We look forward to see our view, there's stacked construction items around, the entire parking area. Trash was on the walkways. We didn't stay, and had front desk write out that we didn't stay. The entire property is and was misrepresented. This was supposed to be a surprise for my 89 year old father. We usually try to stay positive, and work with what we have, but this place was unacceptable. We are requesting our money back. Hotels.com, and Wyndham needs to research this place, and see it isn't what is being advertised. The person at the front desk asked why we weren't staying, and we told them 1.it is unclean, tv didn't work correctly (kept cutting off & sound didn't work correctly-going high low/high low, the place was misrepresented. He agreed, said it was a very old place.

This is a dump of a hotel. I have not stayed at many Wyndham properties. This hotel most certainly give Wyndham properties a bad reputation. I should have known from the moment we hopped out the Uber and entered the front door…this isn’t looking good!!! Starting with the rug as you enter the front door. It was filthy. Believe me, it went down hill from there. I requested a king bed; however, that wasn’t available. I was told that there weren’t any; they’re all gone for the night. Ok, there wasn’t anything I could do about that since it’s 10:30 pm and I had just gotten off of a flight, then a 50 min Uber ride from the Houston Airport to Galveston only to find myself at the dirtiest hotel ever. Now to the unfortunate adventure that had me livid. I was given the room keys… We had to walk outside around the corner for the elevator. We get to the elevator and there was a family that was trying to go upstairs and the elevator door continuously opened and closed but would never move pass the 1st floor. My husband and I stood outside the elevator watching this take place at least 4 times. The family decided to get out and take the stairways. We had to much heavy luggage to tote to the 3rd floor. Therefore, we attempted to give the elevator another shot. Of course, we were still stuck on the 1st floor. We ended up having to walk all of our heavy luggage up to the third floor. Once we walked into the room, I immediately knew…

Booked and paid online through Expedia, was charged again upon check in. When I asked about the charge, was given a number to call. My ocean view room was green construction fencing. Ice machine didn’t work. Trash overflowing in the cans outside.

They rented out one of our rooms to somebody else. Why we were in it? They didn't understand us anytime. We tried to ask him for something. We asked for blankets. There was no blankets in the room that gave us sheets. Then finallyr bought us a blanket just 1 for 2 beds and had to argue them that we had 2 beds and needed 2 blankets. The breakfast they offer was bread, water down, Waffle, mix, dry, cereal, an apple. I definitely don't recommend staying at this hotel ever. It was my worst experience at a hotel. On vacation. And it costs you fifteen dollars a day park at there hotel where you are staying

The front doors of the rooms were eroded badly. 3 other couples were trying to get their money back along wit us. Roaches,roaches… The front desk is horrible refused to refund . All they wanted to do was give us another room. He hotel is really old and looks like it was never kept up. Do not stay here. I wish I had read the reviews first. This hotel had something’s wrong about it. Starting with the floors from first glance they appear clean but I do not suggest walking on it bare foot. Upon arrival the towels had stains and hairs on it along with the sink. Everything that was made from medal was rusting beyond belief. The ceiling was melting and there was a green stain that could possibly have been mold on the walls. There was a roach that crawled into the wall and white stains on the desk chair. Overall this room was a bio hazard.

The only positive thing I can say is that the location is perfect/ convenient as it’s right on Seawall. Also we did had ocean view. All I can say is that the pictures online are deceiving Of what you get. If you are looking to spend your time mostly at hotel don’t book here. All the things others said are true. You don’t even get a blanket and they don’t mention you need to bring blankets there is only a sheet on your bed. Tv didn’t work, got fixed the night before checkout still was broken- had a line in the middle of screen.

Check in was quick and easy. Room smelled clean (smelled of bleach). Microwave was dirty inside (I did not use the microwave), refrigerator has 2 to 3 inches of ice built up.All chrome Lamps were crusted with rust. Bath tub had been reglazed and the reglazing was peeling off. The light fixture in the bathroom had melted area. Bathroom door frame needing replaced as the bottom is missing wood and paint. Armchair near bed needed wiped down as therebwas noted brown substance that had run diwn the arm arm and side if chair.

There were several broken, peeling or rusted items in the room. When we got there, there was almost no toilet paper, although the room had been serviced. The breakfast was terrible. The entire property was run down. We were very disappointed considering this is part of the Wyndham chain. Next time we’ll be going to Holiday Inn or the Hampton. What was shown online was very deceptive compared to what we ended up with, plus a $15 a day parking fee? What type of place provides a room, but no parking for their guests?

Great spot for the piece. Right across from the beach. That also means some of the metal appliances have some rust due to the salt. Staff was nice. Bed was comfy, AC works and there is the boardwalk just a 15 minute walk away.

we paid for a suite, that ended up being a giant room with 2 beds and a couch. the rest of the furniture was not in the room and they refused to help in any way. I wasted money on this trip to have gotten a "suite" which was $100 more a night than a regular room. When we arrived the tub was full of water along with all the towels in the room. There was complaints from everyone in the hotel, had a conversation at 2am with a woman in a panic that they gave her room to a group of men who had her room key trying to get in at 2am banging on the door. She thankfully had the latch on the door so they couldn't get in. Went to front desk and they were LAUGHING about the situation. Felt so bad for this woman. We just happened to be coming back from fishing and ran across this incident. We will never book with this hotel again.
