Breakfast was wonderful. Beautiful property. Would stay again.

From opening the door to enter to handing the keys to leave, it was the most enjoyable stay we’ve had in a very long time. Loved hearing some of the history of this place
- 5/5
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Staff was wonderful. The room was beautifully appointed. Breakfast was first class. We met guests from all over and had a great time.
- 5/5
Beautiful area and staff was great
- 5/5
Beautifully restored/maintained 1800's property with all the niceties. We stayed here as a stopover during travel before boarding our cruise out of the Port of Galveston near by. The staff made us feel welcome, was very accommodating of our arrival delay and took the time to make sure we knew where all the comforts were and that we were well settled. Breakfast was amazing and fresh. We will definitely stay here anytime we visit Galveston!
- 5/5
It was a great stay! Will definitely be back.
- 3/5
Bedroom was not that clean you sit in the chair.By the bathroom, you could see the dirt and the dust under the bed.If you look in the bathroom from that , point you also concede the toilet, the dirt under the rim and behind the toilet. If you look at the doors in the bedroom as well as the bathroom door very dirty dusty, they can't wipe those down the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great chef was great.
- 5/5
Traveled there in May of 2026. The property was amazing and staff very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was amazing and made to order. We also used the shuttle to the cruise port which was super convenient.
- 5/5
Great stay, everything was perfect
- 4/5
The staff was amazing. Our only complaint was to do with the bathroom. 1) There was no shampoo in the shower, 2) difficult to take a shower do to the arrangement of the shower curtains in the tub, and 3) the hand soap at the sink was watered down.

We loved staying at this Bed and Breafast! The amenities like wine and dine, along with the home cooked breakfast were wonderful! It had easy parking out front and was only three blocks away from The Grand. Would definitely stay there again!!!!
- 5/5
Great staff and charming accommodations! A great experience.
- 5/5
Old structure but good care for age. Enjoyed stay. Convenient location.
- 4/5
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The stairs were not vacuumed as well as they could have been, neither the floor of my room but the bathroom was spotless. Parking is on the streets but it is safe. The house has so much character and atmosphere. I love staying there.
- 5/5
It was fantastic! The hotel was clean and beautiful!!! The even allowed us to park our car there while we went on our cruise. Would highly recommend to everyone!!!
- 5/5
Lovely old historic mansion with a quiet atmosphere! No kids during our stay which was great as adults wanting to relax! Within 10 minute walking distance to the strand and it was a nice walk! Clean room and bathroom and the bedding was super soft! Breakfast was good! Aaron at check in was friendly and made us feel very welcome!! I would stay here again!
- 5/5
We absolutely loved it here! The old time Victorian charm is everywhere in this mansion. Its location is perfect for a short walk to the strand for shopping and eats. It’s also just a 5 minute drive to the Seawall. The staff is amazing and very hospitable. Drinks are free at the evening social hour where you have a chance to meet other guests and staff. The breakfast each morning is delicious and comes with French press coffee brewing right at your table. We will definitely be back.
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Excellent stay. I love this place with its creaky floors. Staff was very attentive and kind. Breakfast made to order from a set menu. Parking on the street at no charge. Great location.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were kind and helpful, and the morning breakfast was an added bonus. We would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Stayed here the night before our cruise and will definitely book again.
- 5/5
Breakfast was yummy and the house was gorgeous
- 5/5
Fantastic B & B
- 5/5
Spacious room, free parking, close to The Strand restaurants and shopping. Cruise drop-off was appreciated!
- 5/5
Aaron, the Concierge, is great. We did a city tour with him and learned a lot about the city of Galveston. We also booked him to take us to the cruise port and had excellent drop off service. They even recommend a great ride service to and from the Houston airport with Shannon from the Saltwater Moms. Loved the breakfast service and French press coffee at the bed and breakfast as well.
- 5/5
Food staff and amenities were awesome!
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 5/5
Staff Was Lovely and breakfast was delicious. Parking was offered and storage of vehicle for cruise is a great offer and they even dropped us at the pier for a nominal fee. Highly recommended.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable, staff were friendly and breakfast was excellent.
- 5/5
Love Mansion on 17th Street. Bed was very comfortable; room temperature was great. Staff is superb. Breakfast is outstanding. Great location. We were able to walk down to the Strand for dinner (15 minute walk). Area is very quiet and safe. Aaron , concierge, is superb and has great historical knowledge of Galveston.
- 5/5
What a unique stay. It was great to learn a little bit of history from Aaron. He was a great host. Breakfast was made to order and delicious. The property is beautiful with so much history.
- 5/5
The breakfast was wonderful and the staff was great. It was a very pleasant and unique experience.
- 5/5
This was our second stay here. The staff is amazing. You feel right at home.
- 5/5
I’d go back to Galveston JUST for this b&b. The staff were so gracious from start to finish. A must stay!!
- 5/5
Parking very available. Great staff. Good location.
- 5/5
For March weather the a/c worked fine, maybe in July it might be a little hot. Cleanliness can be improved quite a bit, (floors, baseboards, behind the bed, under the small night stands (only know that because I dropped something and it rolled under the bed) Breakfast is great and the French pressed coffee is AMAZING!
- 5/5
Staff, happy hour, and breakfast! Great hidden gem.
- 4/5
Home was lovely and breakfast was good. Good location
- 4/5
We stayed two nights, we were in a room that was kind of dark with no window but asked to be moved and they were able to accommodate. It was on the third floor which was kind of difficult to climb. Would recommend that they say that when you book. Overall it was a nice stay.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay here and the staff were amazing. The breakfast was better than a five star restaurant!
- 4/5
Staff was great, breakfast amazing, price outstanding for the area. It is obviously a very old home that has gone through many renovations that have created some typical flaws in home appearance, that should be expected. These do not effect the stay, for it is a beautiful old property but has its unique flaws, which should be obvious to anyone booking a stay at a home from the 1800's. A miss on our stay was there was no happy hour charcuterie board as stated in ad, but drinks we Great.
- 5/5
Fantastic service. So kind. Everything was beautiful. Would stay again for sure!
- 5/5
Beautiful property, friendly staff and amazing breakfast!
- 4/5
Overall, the living areas are clean. There is a beautiful floral scent throughout the house, and the lighting is adequate even at night. The ambiance of 125 year-old creaking stairs and wood adds to the house’s charm. The staff are very attentive and pleasant, and their breakfasts were delicious. Daily happy hour is appreciated, and offers a chance to meet others staying at the residence. Our room was stuffy when we returned at night after a day exploring, but it did have an oscillating fan tower with multiple settings and a timer. We turned that on for a few hours before turning in for the night. We enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
It was all wonderful from the get go. I texted we would be getting in in the evening and both the owner and concierge texted me back with details and welcomed. Aaron met us when we got there and he did a show and tell of the property and its history. All of the staff was phenomenal, breakfast was excellent, and we can’t wait to go back.
- 5/5
Great atmosphere and service. Breakfast also great
- 5/5
My wife and I loved this historic home. The staff is pleasant and attentive to guests needs. The social hour was great to meet other guest and share our stories. Breakfast is great and again opportunity to visit with other guest. We will definitely be coming back anytime we are in Galveston.
- 5/5
Great Boutique stay! Love the vintage feel and history. Breakfast was so good!!
- 4/5
Room was quite small and the light didn’t work. Had a small lamp for light. Bed was comfortable. Claw foot bath tub was nice for bathing. But the downstairs was beautiful and breakfast was phenomenal.
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful. The location was walking distance from the Strand festivities. The breakfast was delicious! I loved that they served mimosas and coffee and breakfast made to order. I would recommend and want to come again.
- 3/5
The staff provided friendly service and were very knowledgeable of the area. The common areas were wonderful. The social hour was very nice; it was lovely to chat with other guests. We stayed in room number #6. It was suitable for one night but more attention to the details that make for an exceptionally comfortable stay is needed (deep cleaning, dusting, repairing things that don’t work, making the bed property). My allergies were thoroughly activated. We didn’t complain because the staff was so kind & there was a “pardon our dust while we renovate” sign. We might consider staying in the future in a different room, but I can’t recommend the #6 room. By the way, breakfast was also excellent.
- 4/5
Unique stay!
- 5/5
Staff is the very best. Location is wonderful. Best breakfast anywhere.
- 5/5

Clean room pleasant helpful staff great recommendations for dinner. The breakfast and service was very good. The Mansion has been restored beautifully. There is a calm welcoming scent in every room . I would definitely recommend to others for a unique and pleasant place to stay. I would stay here again when in Galveston.
- 5/5
The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. The room was very clean and inviting.
- 5/5
The staff was wonderful.
- 5/5
Great experience!
- 5/5
Staff is amazing here
- 5/5
Easy check-in. We had the king bedroom on the main floor. Enjoyed social hour and visiting with others on front porch. Breakfast was delicious with fresh pressed coffee. Took their shuttle to cruise port. Nice stay.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Beautiful Bed & Breakfast! I loved the authentic Victorian architecture and decor. The concierge, Aaron, was very helpful and kind. The B & B offers a mini-fridge and microwave in the cocktail room for guest usage, complimentary wine & beer each evening, and a delicious cooked to order breakfast each morning. Would highly recommend this quaint location for anyone wanting to truly experience Galveston!
- 5/5
Staff always so friendly and the house is so comfortable it has become our Go to spot in Galveston
- 5/5
The owner was personable. The staff were accommodating and told us about the rich history of the property. Clean. Food for breakfast was delicious. The social hour on the porch was a lot of fun. A true bed and breakfast experience.

- 5/5
The atmosphere was wonderful and the history so interesting. Service was outstanding.
- 3/5
Small room up stairs
- 5/5
The area is so historic and close to the ports.
- 5/5
Everything was spotless - very clean. Erica, cooking, and Jenny, serving breakfast was wonderful. Service was great and food was out of this world. Superior in every aspect. Loved it. Best breakfast ever!
- 5/5
Great staff. Wonderful location. Very clean. Perfect place to stay.
- 5/5
The room was well kept, and the staff was very pleasant. This is an antique mansion, thus the furnishings will reflect some wear, but it is a very warm place that will take you back to the turn of the last century.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful!
- 5/5
Comfortable spacious room. Very friendly and attentive staff.
- 5/5
Everything was amazing!!!
- 5/5
From arrival to leaving by far one of the best experiences we have had. Fantastic staff, amazing rooms, and a breakfast of perfection. For any type of couples vacation I recommend here.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay at the Mansion. Will definitely come back!
- 5/5
The Property was very clean and near a lot of restaurants that were near to walk to. The Host was super friendly and very helpful for anything we needed and recommendations for activities to try and restaurants in the area. I recommend travelers to stay here if you are traveling in Galveston to take a cruise. The property is very close to the Galveston Cruise port terminal and I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
One of the favorite places I have ever stayed.
- 5/5
Personable staff and service! They went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. The breakfast is first class! The room had lots of charm and was very clean!
- 5/5
Beautiful historic mansion decorated with period antique furnishings. Located short walk from Galveston historic area with lots of shops and restaurants.
- 4/5

- 5/5
Beautiful property and lovely stay- we will be back!
- 5/5

- 5/5
Absolutely wonderful stay. Everything was superb!! Erica was the very best always willing to help, smiling and friendly. She made the stay even better. Location is peaceful and quiet. Aaron, was a delight and extremely helpful. Our room was wonderful. Breakfast was one of the very best we have had in a long time. The entire staff was wonderful and couldn't do enough to make our stay better. Will stay here again and again.
- 4/5
No window in the room - this should have been highlighted when booking.
- 5/5
We had a very nice stay. Staff was amazing. Breakfast was great. Thank you
- 5/5
Loved our stay. Can’t wait to go back.
- 5/5
This is a lovely historic property. Our room was on the main floor and even with foot traffic going up & down the stairs outside our room, it was quiet. For breakfast, you had a choice of five menu options that you could customize if you wanted. I opted for the French toast while my husband had the scrambled eggs with ham & green peppers. Both were delicious. If we are ever back in Galveston, we will be staying here!
- 5/5
We had a lovely stay! The house is beautiful, our room was comfortable, and the location was walking distance to many great restaurants. The staff was so nice, and we loved the evening “social hour” and excellent breakfast. Will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
It’s an old house made into a small hotel so don’t expect modern amenities, claw foot tub/shower, no pool, and parking is parallel on street but the staff and service as well are top notch. The breakfast was awesome. We have already booked another night for next years cruise.
- 5/5
very nice
- 5/5
Was so cute I loved it
- 4/5
Everything was great, but the bed was not very comfortable.
- 5/5
This was our 3rd stay at the Mansion. It never lets us down. Great staff, great property. Tasty breakfast and the 4-5 PM social hour was outstanding.
- 5/5
A family run mansion. Absolutely perfect. Everyone was super friendly and happy to help with any questions we had. They were there if we needed them but were happy to leave us to our own devises. This was the end of our America trip (been to a few places) so was nice to relax. We were recommended good places to eat & help with the best beach to attend. The breakfast was lovely. Especially the eggs & coffee!! The bed was super comfy. And the sheets were super soft. The room had everything we need. We won’t be coming back to Galveston and that’s not because it’s a bad place, it’s actually really cool, but we have lots of the world to see!! But if I can recommend anywhere to someone else visiting, then don’t even think twice about booking this mansion. You’re close to the majority of everything you need & the property is beautifully decorated to keep it with that’s quirky feel. Thank you!!
- 5/5
The room was wonderful! Clean and quiet. We loved the Happy hour drinks for the meet and greet. We met up with great people that was staying there as well. We did a tour of Galveston as a add on and it was great. We've been going to Galveston for over 30 years but never learned about the history.

I love that the mansion was maintained and true to it's era as well as the entire town of Galveston. Arron & the entire staff were amazing! All were so helpful, polite, and fun to be around. I would give 10 stars if I could. They started our vacation off wonderfully 💃
- 5/5
Aaron is an excellent host with great stories. The mansion on 17th is hands down the best accommodation in the Strand area.

This has been one of our favorite stays in Galveston. Will be booking again for our next cruise!
- 5/5
We stayed at this property for our 40th wedding anniversary. The stay exceeded our expectations. Aaron, the very nice gentleman who was managing the property, went out of his way to acquire a few items for my wife that she just mentioned in a casual conversation. That impressed us a LOT! Thanks again Aaron! Breakfast was excellent. We will absolutely stay here again the next time we travel to Galveston.
- 5/5
Highly recommend this b and b. Can’t say enough good things about it
- 5/5

- 5/5
What a great place! My wife and I stayed at The Mansion prior to and following our recent Royal Caribbean cruise...it was lovely! Highly, highly recommend!
- 5/5
The Mansion doesn't disappoint. You can tell that they try hard to keep the hotel running well. I like the ambiance and the fact that it's a historic bldg.
- 5/5
We had a room with a screened in balcont shaped like a turret. Very nice!
- 5/5
The staff was personable & very attentive.
- 3/5
These folks work hard to take care of the customer. That said, I likely would only stay there again if I were living out of a backpack. There is no elevator or lift to provide for getting bags to the room. Parking is on-the-street curbside. There is a couple of steps up from the curb, more steps to the gate, way more steps to the porch, thus luggage of any weight becomes an issue. There is only one room on the lowest floor so the rest of the guest must climb more stairs to get to their room. The facility is nicely done with good attention to the rooms. If I were traveling light luggage-wise, I would not hesitate to stay there. The happy hour, carriage rides, morning breakfast, low parking price during cruise plus shuttle to and from the cruise terminal are all positives. The staff is friendly and helpful. If they solve the luggage issue, it could be a very attractive venue.
- 5/5
We loved the mansion and if we come back to Galveston we will try to book a room again. The breakfast was really good and fresh.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff. 100% will stay again
- 5/5
Very quaint, beautiful home. Excellent staff care. We recommend this location.
- 5/5

- 5/5

- 5/5
Charming setting, friendly staff. Nice amenities such as afternoon cocktail hour and included breakfast.
- 5/5
Service was exceptional! Beautiful historic old mansion.
- 5/5
This is our second stay at the Mansion on 17th. We plan to return in the fall. The property is a gem and the staff are stellar! We highly rate this wonderful Galveston getaway!
- 5/5
Everything. Would stay again.
- 5/5
The Mansion on 17th Street was awesome. It was right in the middle of the historic district and an easy walk to The Strand. Breakfast was made from scratch and excellent; the afternoon happy hour was fun to talk with other guests and staff about their cruises. The staff was very accommodating! Highly recommend!
- 4/5
Lovely victorian home. Breakfast was provided. Would have liked more variety. Yogurt, fresh fruit, oatmeal.
- 3/5
Sleeping on a bed almost on floor in a broom closet of a bedroom with a bathroom it feels like. no room to set anything on it is not worth the price
- 5/5
We enjoyed every minute we stayed there. The staff were amazing! Stephanie and Aaron were the best!! Loved how they care for the people and made our stay unforgettable. These is for sure our place to stay while in Galveston. Thank you Jeff for having a top notch place, we are in love with it.
- 5/5
I was going on a solo cruise and when I saw this beautiful property I booked it. I can't say enough about how wonderful my stay was, the woman there are so nice and a big thank you to Stephanie for all her help and being so sweet & friendly. Erin was so knowledgeable about the area, he gives a tour in the nicest car. The breakfast was made fresh and the pressed coffee was delicious. I would recommend this place to everyone and when I go back to Galveston would love to stay here again.
- 5/5
Service was spectacular!

This location was a hidden gem nestled in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. We were delayed getting there and they were kind enough to check on us and give us detailed checkin instructions with a picture. The room was comfortable and had a claw foot tub😍 Although we were unable to partake in breakfast(last minute errand) we enjoy the most delicious French press coffee and the food looked and smelled heavenly!! All of the staff were beyond courteous and kind. We will absolutely be staying again.

What a cute place and close to the port and downtown. The staff was marvelous and attended to every need we had. I will warn you there is no elevator and there are three floors and schlepping or luggage down three floors was not the greatest fun. Overall I would stay here again. They were friendly. We were able to get a ride over to the port and the breakfast was amazing.

Gorgeous house with beautiful rooms. Delicious cocktails and wonderful breakfast

I had the smallest room and it was perfect for me. There’s enough modern conveniences while maintaining the historical charm. The location is good for exploring. I would recommend this place as long as stairs are not a problem.

It was great, breakfast excellent. We were on top floor (3rd) no elevator so if you have problems walking upstairs i suggest you ask for a 1st floor suite.

This place was amazing. This was truly a mansion not just in name. The house was gorgeous and well maintained. The staff was wonderful and very attentive. The breakfast was extremely delicious. We only got the privilege of staying one night, but there is more to explore on this wonderful island. The bonus of having a ride to the cruise port was a fine ending to our stay. Kudos to Aaron who graciously came back to the cruise port to deliver my phone which I accidentally left in his car.

Nice stay before our Cruise...wish we had a day or two to stay and explore. Very walkable area and loved the quietness of the neighborhood. Just blocks from Cruise Terminal ...we took advantage of leaving our car there during the cruise and it was perfect! AND the breakfast was wonderful along with the staff! Will definitely be back.

The staff were stellar and the food was great. French press coffee was perfection after a long drive down from DFW. The only thing was the room and restroom we stayed in didn’t appear to have been cleaned, like a fresh reset. But I also understand B&Bs may have different standards to that of a hotel. The only reason we felt it was cleaned was due to the fresh linens and the bed was made. However the restroom appeared as if though the previous guest had just used it, as I found a toiletry item and used washcloth and hair in the shower and restroom floor.
