    Location. Super comfortable bed. Didn’t have to pay for parking. Walking into building, smelled of pesticides/chemicals. Room was on 3rd floor, entire 3rd floor smelt of pot the minute you stepped out of elevator. Had to use room spray in attempt to keep pot smell from seeping into our room from the halls!

    The closest door in our room was broken. We could not open it to take out the iron. I had to go downstairs to have the receptionist walk me to another room to take out iron and ironing board. When we went to dinner and came back there was absolutely no parking. We along with many others had to park in the fire lane. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We would not rent here again.

    We were told it was not approved, then why was it offered??? We had to have housekeeping come in when we first arrived because the furniture had not been wiped down. All of the furniture had nicks in it like someone had a party and trashed the room. We took pictures just in case they tried to charge us. But the beds were comfortable and breakfast was ok.

    We always stay here when in Galveston but that’s changing after the last two visits. Property seems to be getting run down. For a place back off the beach they need to be better than the rest and they used to be. New owners? Idk but definitely not as clean or well maintained.

    Parking was very easy. Location was ok. Staff was a joke it was one man. He could’ve cared less if we checked in or not. Room and clean don’t even go together. Very dirty floors. Refrigerator was taped together, bed appeared to clean. AC was LOUD and everything in our room was wet from humidity. Lightening in the room was poor very dark. Probably to mask the dirt on the floor. Two tissues in the box no more to be found. Room by the pool on 4th floor kids screamed and jumped to all hours. Finally fell asleep out of exhaustion. Next morning went down for coffee and what was supposed to be breakfast which was yucky. Back to our room got our luggage and headed out to the port. Never in my mind would I have dreamed what we had to pay for these rooms. Oh well live and learn. Never stay there again not even if they paid me !!

    The other Tv did not work at all but we told them not to fix it because we really did not need it. The toilet ran constantly and the whole faucet was loose. We had to hold it when we turned it on. We were not moving again and i think they thought it was a bother to move us the first time. We told them about both tvs but did not tell them about faucet at sink in bathroom until we left. And decalf coffee was cold and too strong at breakfast. We ate out last day we will not stay here again

    The location was great. It is a quick walk to the beach. The pool/hot tub was awesome! My kids had so much fun swimming. That is pretty much the only positives about this hotel. Breakfast is pretty much limited to waffles and cereal. Our room smelled terrible when we first arrived. We had to go to the store and buy our own air fresheners. The towels and linens were stained. The room just wasn’t overall the cleanest. Overall, not the worst hotel I have stayed at but definitely not even close to the best.

    Arrived and informed that didn’t have a reservation. I showed my confirmation etc for my reservation. The desk clerk was rude. Finally they found my reservation listed under my first name.. Still a jerk. The room was so humid my clothing that I hung up felt damp the next morning. I will never stay in this facility.

    Pros: The bed was okay, the body wash smelt good, the room was cold which I love. The breakfast was better than I expected and it is close to the beach if that’s what you are there for. Overall, I personally wouldn’t probably stay there again but it wasn’t the worst experience of my life.

    On the positive side: Breakfast waffle is in a Texas shape which was fun. Parking is free. Room A/C was functional and beds were comfy enough. Walking distance to beach and Kroger’s Detractors: WiFi wasn’t working and the staff did not know how to trouble shoot and brushed it off. -Fitness center had no A/C and no yoga or exercise mat -Bathroom didn’t have ventilation -Front desk wasn’t very helpful at all (4 different people all not great) -breakfast was rather basic, lacking in fruit and not replenished over a 2 hr period Probably would not here stay again

    Breakfast was as expected, not great. The main thing i didnt like about my stay was the room was so small, when i booked i looked for the biggest sq ft! We were crowded, had to sit on the beds and the room smelled like pee! The fridge was in a very inconvenient spot. For $300/night, def not worth it. I cancelled my future reservations here.

    Hallway smelled terrible. Big stains on carpet in hallway. Was only given two towels and two washcloths for a four day stay with two adults. Water pressure in shower was terrible. Could have rinsed off faster using a cup. Was very disappointed that the hotel advertised a bar/lounge area onsite. Upon arriving we were told that the bar was permanently closed. Website needs to be updated. One elevator did not work. The door just kept opening and closing. Check in/out was quick and easy. Room did not have enough lighting. Two lights upon entry but only two wall lamps further into the room.

    Only reason I’m giving one star is because zero is not an option. The staff at the front desk was rude. There were two tvs in the room, one wouldn’t change channels and the other had no volume. The shower was barely a trickle and the room just smelled bad. Certainly not what I expected for a $200 a night room needless to say we won’t be back.

    The mattress was disgusting and there was roaches in our room. Also the room for one night was 228.00, it was a Friday night. This room looked like it should have been 50.00 a night. The night manager did put us in another room but as soon as he walked us to new room and opened the door a roach ran across. Will never stay at this property again

    Where to begin? Cleaners and buffet minders were friendly and helpful, reception not so. As we checked in we were advised that our room wuoldn't be cleaned during our three days stay but if we wanted clean towels we could ask for them at the reception or through the maids, which makes this hotel stay more of a regular day, not very much like a vacation, having to make the beds every morning just like at home. So about cleanliness, at home we clean the toilets every day, at your hotel...not possible. Speaking of toilets, ours run every five minutes, day and night. About the bed: a king size mattress that was so old and decorated with the indentations of several years of hugging bigger buts than ours, so much so that the first night, at midnight, wife placed two (2) bath towels to fill the hole in the middle of her mattress and she's five feet and only weights 135 lbI! When she went to bed before I, she promtly dessapeared into that black hole and I had to recue her pulling her from it when she needed to go to the bathroom. So, bed: uncomfortable. Entry door: after the first 24 hrs it locked us out, went to reception and was told it was my fault because I had placed my cards with my phone which of course I didn't, because I put mi phone in my back pocket and the cards were in my hand. Next day, same problem, no accusations. Day number three, same, so reception agreed ssomerhing was wrong with door, called maintenance and the problem was that the KEYS given to us were wrong.

    I was happy to be able to check in half an hour early, since we went to the beach and we needed a shower. The man working the front desk seemed to naturally have a lot of attitude and seemed to be kind of rude from the beginning but I didn’t let it bother me until we made our way to our room. Our bathroom smelt like someone had just smoked cigarettes inside the bathroom. When we reported it to the front desk. The man did not believe us saying”if someone was smoking in the room we would get an alert” it smelt so terrible. But that man in the front desk asked Arturo I’m guessing he was a house man to help us. Arturo was very friendly and very empathetic towards us. He sent one of the house cleaners upstairs to help clean the smell out of the bathroom. The house cleaner was super nice. The only person that ruined our trip was the front desk guy, he had terrible customer service, shouldn’t work in this type of industry since he had no hospitality. We even asked if we can switch rooms and he responded really sassy “ there is no other rooms available” it just sucked because it was my birthday and the interaction with this man ruined it for me. Basically if the bathroom didn’t smell like fresh cigarettes and the front desk guy was much nicer I would give a higher rating. Next time I’m in Galveston I’ll spend extra money on a better hotel with better service.

    This is another of the great La Quinta facilities, available and very close to the Seawall. The only situation we had with this hotel is finding the entrance! The drive, directly off the Seawall boulevard, is not as well advertised as it should be and we had to drive around the block several times just to specifically find it. Otherwise, it was GREAT!

    The staff were very friendly and accommodating! We disembarked our cruise at 8am with all our luggage and didn’t have a form of transportation or anywhere to keep our stuff! We were able to store it at the hotel before check in. We were able to use the pool while waiting and they even got our room ready an hour early!

    Our room had an unpleasant smell. But the property was clean. My issue is that I was charged double. One person could not figure it out and referred me to the manger, that was not there. It was finally fixed and refunded. However, 2 days after check out i received another charge for a nights stay. I was told it will be refunded but it is still an inconvenience for this to happen after check out.

    Mold! We stayed on the 4th floor and the second the doors opened on the elevator we could smell mold! Once we got in our room the smell wasn't as strong as the hallway. The room appeared to have been painted recently. They painted over light switches and on the baseboards. You could also see in the bathroom where they stopped painting about two feet from the ceiling. There was also a crack in the floor between the two beds. The room appeared clean however the AC was off in our room when we arrived so the air was a bit stale. Several slammed doors after midnight. And the man who checked us in was not very friendly. Overall dissappointed in our stay and thankful it was only for one night.

    I booked a room for two nights due to the ice storms in DFW because I would not be able to drive home. After the first night we decided to try and make the drive back home. I spoke with the front desk and we checked out that morning. She said I would get refunded for the day we didn’t stay. I have not received a refund or communication from the hotel. The hotel was fine but the customer service piece is not ok.

    There were unknown spots all over the floor, toothpaste splattered on the mirror, and electrical wires hanging out of the AC unit, which felt unsafe and unacceptable. The room clearly had not been cleaned or inspected before being assigned to guests. When I went to the front desk to address the issue, I was told there was nothing they could do because we booked through Expedia and that no other rooms were available. No alternative solution, no attempt to help, and no sense of concern after such a long trip. Between the filthy room and the lack of customer service, I would not recommend staying here. Booking through a third party should not excuse basic cleanliness or guest safety.

    The design of the hotel sleeping rooms is horrible. We felt we were staying in a sardine can! No room to walk around the room at all. The beds are very uncomfortable, pillows are awful, lighting is bad. The corner chair was filthy. The A/C made a funky vibrating noise. The room smelled like urine. People were smoking pot in the stairwell. The only good things: the staff and the nice lobby area, the location was close to what we needed, Breakfast was good, but they always start too early & close too late on weekends. I have stayed at very nice LaQuintas before and felt comfortable booking with the brand. We will not stay here again.

    Our first day arriving we were forced to wait for Che Jin at 4 pm. We were thinking so they could clean our room. We walked around and came back. We get to our room the tv is broken, the sheets were dirty, and the air didn’t work. The guy downstairs had an attitude but gave us another room. In the new room the floor was dirty along with the sheets. Behind our chair in our room was a Cheeto that looked like it had been there for at least a week. I slept with my clothes on and a hood on my head. We don’t think the hotel was fully staffed. Since I paid on this site we couldn’t get our money back. We were stuck in hell! They tell you that they don’t clean the room while your there so if your room is dirty your out of luck. Find somewhere else to stay.

    Room was not spotless. Chase lounge needed severe cleaning. Dust and dirt in other places. Sticky remote.We stayed 2 nights and we're told we would have to come to the desk if we needed fresh towels. Because we would not get room cleaning since we were only staying 2 nights.     Staff was nice during check in and check out. Hotel smelled of mold or mildew and the carpet in the hall looked like they had bleach stains in front of every room. The room door was hard to open and shut and it sounded like others had the same problem. We could hear people walking above us and it was loud enough to wake us. The room and bathroom where overall fairly clean. The pool area looked nice but we did not use it.

    As soon as we stepped off the elevator the smell of maybe mold would knock you down. It was no better in our room. Our sheets were stained. They had a feeling of damp when you laid down. Our commode would not flush, the rude gentleman at the check in said he could provide us with a bucket to put water in to flush it. When I was trying to talk to the gentleman on the phone he kept interrupting me and talking over me. Worst hotel experience I have ever had. I 10/10 do NOT recommend this place to stay!

    Our stay went well, the biggest issue was the mildew smell in the room. Even with the room at 65 all day, it always smelled like mildew. It made it so hard to be in the room since the smell was so strong and we had to keep the room so cold to keep it from smelling worse. They had run out of extra blankets as well so I struggled to sleep. I also have a cpap machine and after returning home, my machine has smelled like mildew and even replacing the filter and mask, the smell has stuck. It’s only now finally going away. All in all, good hotel but the mildew smell makes it almost unbearable.

    The smell in the hotel was horrible. As soon as I walked in I was hit with this horrible smell that lasted the whole stay. Then the beds kept squeaking. And then in the middle of the night the fire alarm goes out we're thinking it's a fire in the hotel but the alarm is only going off in our bedroom and they would not do anything to accommodate us to give us a refund they just said sorry thank you for staying.

    The older cacucasion gentleman with glasses (he refused to give me his name) at the front desk was the most rudest person I have ever experienced. Since the moment I walked into the lobby I felt unwelcomed and uncomfortable. He was very short with his answers to my questions and when I asked him "why he was being so rude to me?" He answered with an attitude that he wasn't. So then I asked for a manager and responded "No you can't I am the only one here!" So then I asked for his higher up and refused to give me the information. Then because I was persistent he cancelled my reservation. Which, mind you my kids had spent all day at the beach and were tired we had to drive back home two hours. This was the worst treatment I had ever received in a hotel.

    Very nice place. We checked in about 5:30 pm the man who checked us in is the best so friendly helpful and kind. The next morning we asked for a late check out and the lady in the am said she could only give an extra 30 min. Which wasn’t helpful at all. Rooms are clean and nice.

    It was a nice stay we were on the 5th floor very quiet. However, most days we were there the first floor smelled awful. Not sure what it was. But when we got to our floor there was no smell. The gentlemen who checked us in was kind enough to find us a luggage trolley bc some ppl forget to bring them that.

    Overall we did like the place, but what I had an issue with was that someone was having was a a party, I didnt mind that but all the all parking was taken and people that were staying had to park further? That was my only real complaint. But area was clean, and Staff were friendly.

    However, there are a few downsides. The breakfast was disappointing. For the price we paid, I expected more variety — instead, we were served just a sausage or patty with egg. The only fruit option available was an apple, and there weren’t even simple offerings like hot chocolate. Other hotels at similar price points manage to provide a much better breakfast spread. I truly hope they invest in upgrading the breakfast experience, because the hotel itself is wonderful, and I would love to return. One more thing — the pool towels need attention. They were handed out neatly folded, but still visibly stained. If a towel looks worn or dirty, it should be discarded. As paying guests looking to relax, we shouldn’t feel like we’re being served with the bare minimum.

    Hot tub had no railings, making it unsafe getting in and out easily. Late opening of pool and hot tub. We were looking forward to a brief swim and soak before checking out, but couldn’t. Room clean but air conditioner very noisy, difficult to sleep with noise level.

    I called the hotel several times in the morning to find out whether rooms have microwaves and fridges but no one answered the phone. Check in went smoothly. Found comforter soiled with food stains. Called front desk to get a new comforter but I was told there is housekeeping staff and we have to bring the comforter down to the front desk ourselves. We did that but we had to prove that we were telling truth about stains - had to show the stains before we got a new comforter. We also had to bring luggage cart back to lobby so that front desk guy doesn’t have to leave the front desk. For their defense, they did have notices in the elevators asking guests to bring the luggage carts down. Hotel was short staffed. We travel a lot but never had hotels telling guests to bring the luggage carts down or having to prove that bedding is actually soiled by carrying it to the front desk. Terrible customer service

    We got a double queen beds, my husband and granddaughter thought they were uncomfortable. They were a bit squeaky when you tried to get out of bed in the middle of the night. The room was clean, the AC worked great. Lots of food option close by. The only down side was you had to go down to front concierge to get more towels, coffee and anything else you were needing for your room if you stayed more than one night. We would stay again, even having to do the extras. The staff is super friendly and courteous.

    Check in advised that hotel staff will not enter your room during your stay so if you need towels or anything else you must visit the front desk. Advised that trash can be put in the hallway along with dirty towels. But cleaning is only for empty rooms. Had a difficult time when entering the room figuring out how to turn on the lights. There isn't wall switches but each lamp has to be turned on individually. Immediately had to go back downstairs and ask for a light bulb for the desk lamp which didn't have one. Hallway carpets are stained in various places and in some spots concrete floor is showing and carpet is gone all together. The down elevator button doesn't work on either elevator and you have to push the up button to call the elevator regardless of which direction you're going. Bathroom door doesn't lock so don't expect any privacy if you have children. Tiny shampoo, conditioner and body soap for 1x use. There is bar handsoap and a makeup remover wipe. Room is pretty clean and beds are comfy. However, one bed sounded like it was going to come crashing down with even the slightest movement. It didn't effect comfort or sleep but it was loud and a little scary. Not sure what was going on there. Nice selections on the TV. There is Netflix as well as other channels like Paramount etc T

    This Galveston location provided a good one night stay. The staff was courteous and friendly. The room was cold, and provided a safe place for the night. Breakfast was provided as well. Delicious waffles to make. Would have loved some options for fresh fruit to choose from. Overall a good stay for my family, people were friendly as well.

    I've stayed at this property several times, usually for the second weekend of the Historic Homes Tour each year. I enjoy this property as it is near the seawall, it's pretty safe, quiet and the rooms are nice and clean. I highly recommend this hotel.

    I can't even say I got what a I paid for because of the location it was pricey. The bed and pillows were horrible. The shower dripped head went all over the place with little pressure. Coffee in the room was bad, luckily they offered good coffee in the lobby. The cleaning crew was friendly and offered assistance out side your room but never enter your room til checkout…i liked that.

    Had so many issues with our room from bloody ice in the freezer, door lock battery going dead and unable to fix it, mold in the shower, towel and toilet paper bars broken, ac struggling to work. Three rooms in 48 hours and just not happy with it at all.
