Great spot to walk to the beach. Parking space is good and rooms were easy to find. Easy access for doordashers to drop off food. Lots of restaurants within the walking distance as well.

There was black mold in the shower grout , the hair dryer was covered in brown grime the chair had dirt and also dry mystery liquid spots and the door lock was missing.as well as a yellow stain on the white sheet. We couldn't sleep that night and went to reclaim the non disclosed $50 deposit as soon as the sun was up and get out of there. We would have slept better and felt cleaner in the car over night

Although the staff was helpful, there was no wifi. So could not do the things I needed on my computer or phone. And since the wifi was not working, the TV would freeze also. As far as facility keep up, the door to the restroom is old and warped and the tub looks as if it has not been scrubbed in some time. Would I stay here again, no, u less the price was lower than what was charged.

If you’re a fan of sleeping in the previous guests bodily fluids, then this is the place for you. I can’t begin to explain how disgusting this place is. I had 2 rooms booked for the night before a cruise. If you’ve seen the documentary “poop cruise”, this is the motel that inspired the ship to give up on life and let all the guests stew in filth. After checking in with the heavily intoxicated “concierge”, we swiped into our rooms (which barely seemed necessary since there was evidence of the doors being kicked in several times). The room that I checked into had a nice aroma which reminded me of old cigarettes put out in a half empty beer bottle (hotel management would say the bottle was half full). All of the appliances plugged into the wall across from the beds, tv, fridge, and clock, were all dead. Not a huge deal. The fridge and shower were rusted from the bottom up. And I don’t mean a little bit of surface rust, I mean severe corrosion. And the lovely office chair had stains which led us to believe that there were several amateur films made in this room that did not have the budget for a cleaning crew after. Let’s move on to the second room. On the way to this room was a nice overflowing garbage can.The vintage lampshade with burn marks and stains all over it were an instant attention grabber. The best part were the dead bugs lined up on the window sill like Andy Dufresne’s chess pieces. And much like Shawshank penitentiary, we would have escaped if we were forced to stay

My neighbors were drug dealers. I had everything from a little white 15-year-old girl knock on the door to a 60 year-old bald cowboy. Pretty sure a couple of prostitutes came through. A state at this end over the last three decades back when it was the knights inn. I stayed here in 2017 again in 2021. It’s on a decline. I honestly think after it’s become an Econolodge quality has tanked. They were boogers literally stuck to the side table and it looks like the Hulk smashed the countertop in my room room 138. I could hear both neighbors televisions to my walls so I know they could hear mine. The only convenient thing that would bring me back is its closeness to the seawall and pleasure pier however I think the ocean Inn will anllow you to sleep decent and clean. I understand the lady that’s cleaning is old, but I don’t think she tried to clean my room before I checked in at all. There’s a difference in being clean and tidy clean means there are no terms left behind my room certainly was filled with germs.

Basic room, it was clean, the remote for the TV did not work, the replacement remote they gave us did not work either, we just gave up. Ice machine did not work the first day, a minor thing, they did fix it. The breakfast they offered was coffee, some juices and prepackaged donuts. 7 out of 10 exp level.

And it was not clean. Smells like smoke and it is a little scary side of town. Booking.com should not have this hotel listed on there site so I am a little disappointed.

The place looks rough. It could use some serious updating. My husband was actually scared to stay there and wanted to change hotels. The pictures portrayed were not accurate depictions of what you get. The location and the staff were the only redeeming qualities. The woman that helped us check in was very kind and tried to help us as much as possible. And it really is across the street from the beach.

The room 124 was beat to crap, does not look as nice as the pictures online. Walls had massive holes bigger than a basketball in it, ceiling was cracked and looked like it wanted to cave in, and various other areas of scrapes everywhere. Please stay anywhere else, creepy dude in van watching everyone and their vehicles.

The property is run down and old. The rooms are small, and in our room it took a lot of effort to twist the handle to open the door. The handle was rusted and old, God forbid if there was an emergency my teenage daughters would not have been able to open it. There was no free breakfast except coffee. No iron or ironing table, the person at the reception said they all got stolen. The TV did not work, there was an issue with the light in the bathroom, and the room was just murky. The only good thing that was going for us was the water pressure in the shower. I do not recommend this property for families at all.

The manager or whatever guy “helped us” at the desk was rude and pretty sure high as a kite, the room was small, toilet was coming out of the wall and off the floor, it rocked when you sit on it, toilet leaked on the floor, the shampoo and conditioner they leave for you was definitely used before, the bed linens/comforter had blood spots all over it so it’s probably never been washed….. I had booked and prepaid for two nights but after our first night we found a MUCH cleaner/nicer hotel (anything could have beat this one) so I asked at checkout after day one about a refund and the rude guy said to call the manager on Monday to ask about a refund for the second day. We drove back by the hotel the next day and our room was already rented out to another set of unfortunate guests so they made double the money off us IF they don’t issue a refund for the second night I didn’t stay. We left and went to the Galveston Beach Hotel and had a much better stay day two. Do not recommend this place at all, that’s why it’s so cheap. You get less than what you pay for. This dump should be renovated thoroughly. Disgusting.

This hotel is extremely old. The outside needs a lot of maintenance and cleaning. The office gives a really bad impression. Dirty around entrance, in need of renovation. We were very worried about the condition of the room, based on the office area. We went ahead and stayed. Owners tried to update. Bedding was clean. Furniture looked fairly updated. Flooring was a laminate and tile. Tub surround had been retiled. Walls desperately needed wiping down as there was sticky where something had splashed up. Paint had peeled off wall in one area so a picture was hung over it but didnt cover all of it. Quarter-round was all dirty everywhere you looked. The tops of headboards were tacky with greasy dust. The inside of door was dirty and needed repainting. Strong odor late at night of stale curry. Lamp was dirty as well. We slept on top of covers and used our own pillows and a throw. Never felt the need to do that before. I took some pictures. It wasnt "Bates Motel" a did not see bugs so I guess thats a plus. Its supposed to be part of the Choice hotels chain but it is very doubtful they know its condition.

The two staff members that we encountered were friendly enough but too busy so guests felt negected. The room seemed adequate at first, but the longer you're in the room, the more you notice. There must be 25 layers of dark paint on the walls holding things together. Too bad it doesn't work to insulate the room a little better as we heard every sound the couple in the next room made - all night long. The transition strip from the tiled vanity area to the lvt in the bed area doesn't meet up and there is dirt and debris in that crack. The vanity had old water stains and everything just felt dirty. We just stayed a short time before a Sunday cruise departure and had reserved a room as we traveled late in the day, thinking we'd gotten a real deal. You get what you pay for. There was no breakfast as advertised. Overall, not a good experience.

The microwave hesitated to work and then there was two little critters crawling around in the restroom not to mention the bed. I felt like something was biting me all night so honestly, I know it was last minute to stay, but the price I paid should be compensated as well as my deposit. Don’t understand why charging a deposit for a room that it’s not up to standard. I’ll give this room a D I should say F but due to last-minute convenience and right across the street from the beach is the only reason theyre getting a D.

It's on the Seawall, so view of beach was excellent. Walk across Seawall Blvd to walk down to beach. That was good -- location. The motel was what I expected, so I gave an overall 3. It's old and in need on lots of cosmetic attention. Our room had newer laminate and tile flooring but walls showed past patches and was in need of new drywall and paint. Air conditioning unit worked well but the fins on front of the unit hadn't been cleaned in months, I imagine. Bathroom tub had serious rust stains and needs to be replaced. The owners need to let go of some of their profits for a few years and do some serious maintenance and repair. Some staff were friendly and other staff had little skill in public relations and dealing with the public. Some appeared to be happy you were there, while others seemed to care the less. We stayed one night as planned, and it was okay, bedding and room were clean, but will probably seek out another motel when we make another visit to Galveston.

It was horrible! I'm having to fight for my money back through my credit card company! There were ants, and roaches! The smoke detector and phone jack were ripped out of the wall in our room we had to leave late at night since we weren't in the room much during the day we didn't sleep there and we had to get a nicer hotel! Don't waste your time or money here! The refrigerator was leaking water, the microwave was broken. It was horrible...just horrible! The manager never called me back after spending days attempting to meet in person or just talk on the phone to get my money back! I should report them to health and human services but the only reason I don't is because of the friendly people that work there! Management sucks and this hotel sucks!

When we arrived on Saturday May 17 we were informed there was no hot water in our rooms. It was frustrating that they hadn’t called us so we could make other arrangements, so I began looking into other hotels in the area. The front desk receptionist called the manager who spoke to me on the phone regarding options—we could carry our stuff over to the other building and use one of the showers that had hot water and he offered to refund me one hundred dollars of what we had paid for the 2 rooms. So we didn’t have to get another Uber and find another hotel, I agreed to that. The one hundred dollars has never been refunded. After I gave it a few weeks to see the refund and didn’t I have tried many times to call the number to Econo Lodge that is listed online. It rings about 10 times and then goes dead so I can’t leave a message. On our credit card charge from Econo Lodge, there is a phone number listed to call if there is an issue. However, the number listed goes to Red Roof Inn in Galveston.

There aren’t any amenities, but the office did have coffee. The staff was nice and check in was easy. The bed was comfortable. At first our hot water didn’t work, luckily it was hot later in the night when we got back from being out. The window is like a fishbowl for everyone to see in so just close that curtain lol. The only other issue we had is the closest bar was right across from our room window; so pretty loud into the night with music and karaoke. Planned a last minute get away so the price for the room for two days i quoted was actually resonable. While staying there i only had plans to get some nice food close by and go to the pier to go on the rides. The room was clean when we got there. The room furniture is out of date but again for the price not a problem. The room i booked had two beds (i only needed one). While examining the sheets on the other bed thats wasnt slept on you could see mildew marks and coolaid stains* i dont wanna think the worst other thinknlf what it might have been, but nevertheless the bed that i slept on shetts were clean, thin, but clean. The towels were clean also. The tv has mostly sport channels (15 channels) if that much and TNT thank God a movie channel but again for the price and reason i was orginally in galveston for i didnt care. The shower didnt have a plactic shower lining but a long curtain that had to be placed inside the tub so the floor didnt get wet. But the floor did get wet alil. The fridge in the room for some reason smelled as if it was some stale food left in there for a while and somebody tried cleaning it out * there were no stains or crumbs left in the fridge , it just smelled bad* to the point i tried my best not to open it. Parking was litterally outside our room door. As seen in the picture you do actully seel the water from out the window. It is a lovelt view. Over all i would stay here again. Quiet and nice

requested an accessible room, what we got was a shower stall, no grab bars, short toilet and not well secured to the floor. if we were in wheelchair, no chance of moving around inside room. non smoking room, but there was plenty of lingering smoke inside and outside. since our room was next to street, on a Saturday night, we could hear all of the traffic outside. over all the bed was ok and it did what we needed it to do as we were staying the night for a cruise the next day. if you needed a place to stay one night this would fine, price reflected the room.

The free breakfast was coffee and a donut in a package. AC was noisy. Trust me, you don't want to stay here.

The room was not unclean, but there were holes in the wall, the bathroom had mold and rust in and around the tub, and there were no washcloths. We got a tiny bar of soap and a tiny conditioner, no shampoo. The vending machine didn't work.

Our stay was excellent. A 10/10. Only one problem....the mattress. Im used to sleeping on a memory foam mattress. And they have spring mattress. But it was a great weekend and a great place to stay. Will stay there again definitely.

Property was par for the course. There's some good improvements that would really change things, but the lack of staff on hand was a big one. Couldn't access anyone before check in hours, which is a a massive problem. Aside from the front desk guy NOBODY spoke English or even Spanish which is becoming a all too common and scary trend. Fridges didn't work well. I booked two rooms so I can say plural. As a side note, the guy at the front desk, when he was there was very nice and attentive.
