    I would like to express my disappointment regarding my recent stay. My room had a water leak that caused water to accumulate on the floor. I reported the issue and requested a room change, but no assistance was provided. On the first day, staff only cleaned the water, but the same problem occurred again the following night. I had planned to extend my stay for an additional two days; however, due to the ongoing issue and the lack of support in resolving it, I decided to check out instead. I hope you will review this matter and take appropriate steps to improve the experience for future guests.

    Clean. The balcony was incredible! Staff was personable and made us feel welcomed. Our bed was not as comfortable as it could have been. I felt that the mattress was too soft for a platform type bed.

    I paid a premium price for this hotel. The price was very comparable to the San Louis Galveston. The San Loui was booked up so decided to try this place out. Absolutely no comparison (other than price). The room was about the size of a large closet. With terrible view and sketchy location with not much security that I was aware of. Don't spend a 5 star price for a 2 star motel.

    We picked this hotel because it was close to everything. This made it really convenient to see the historical areas, the beach, and shops etc. There was a rental shop right next door, too! However, the elevator and carpets were pretty dirty. The hotel room balcony was great, and the room was ok, the carpets and the mattress cover under the sheets were gross. They only had regular cable on the TV, so there was no way to rent movies. The bathroom shower needed some work and the fridge smelled. The food at the restaurant was good, the drinks were strong, and free cookies are always nice. The pool was great, and I loved that you could eat in the pool at the pool bar, fun! The staff was friendly, but they could have told us a little more about the amenities available. All around, we had a good stay, and it was a reasonable price. We paid about $150 a night booking online, and a gal we were talking with at the pool said they were charging her $300 because she just booked a room that day.

    Our room was not clean and we found bed bugs on the bed. They only have one elevator in the whole building and we also got stuck in the elevator for 30 mins before maintenance could get us out. The photos online look nothing like IRL.

    Ridiculous they charge extra for parking. Issues with elevator clinking and stopping. Thought we were stuck..finally git it to go down. Took stairs up to 4th floor. There was another elevator but blocked off with drapes. But staff so friendly and helpful!

    The room was nice and clean, but the hotel only provided housekeeping service once every three days. No complimentary breakfast was included, and the breakfast buffet cost $22.00. Free coffee was available in the lobby area. Unfortunately, I would not stay at this hotel again, as there are many other hotels in the same price range with better reviews and amenities.

    We stay here every time we visit Galveston. This time around I made a bad decision to book a hotel down the road to give it a try. It was awful! So we quickly reserved the Double Tree and left the awful hotel. That night I paid for 2 hotels but coming to this one was worth it. Double tree is exceptionally clean, great staff, and the convenience of the bar at the property as well as the delicious steakhouse nearby. I’ve learned my lesson in an expensive way, I will never test another hotel In Galveston it will always be the Double Tree.

    Initial room we were placed in had wonderful views of the seawall, however, the bed linens were soiled and there was black mold on the pillowcases, lampshades, headboard & bathroom ceiling. Staff was very amenable and promptly moved us to a different room that was clean.

    We had done online check-in the night before. I was given the option to select the room I wanted and the room was guaranteed to a credit card. We selected the top floor to see over the thatch-roofed bar to see the ocean. When we arrived after 14+ hours of travel, and stops at several other hotels to drop folks off, we were exhausted. We checked in at the desk and our keycard said floor 2. When I inquired, she said she had to select my room by 5pm that same day because we weren’t there. The room I had selected (518) was no longer available (even though I have a pic of the confirmation). She said there was nothing she could do. My best guess, of course, is she gave our room away because we hadn’t physically checked in yet (by 5pm…really?). I was not happy, not at all. She claimed my “pre check-in” didn’t take in the system. If that’s the case, why can I show confirmation of the room I selected? I could’ve lived with the condition of the hotel even though it was def not the “Excellent” other guests said it was. The lying, I will not tolerate. Very disappointed in this Hilton Hotel. Do not recommend, not only for character of staff, but also condition of hotel. Thanks!

    Some of the staff were perfectly fine and helpful. Two of the front desk staff were rude. One woman never acknowledge me even when I greeted her. I requested a bottle of water and she never looked at me as she handed it to me. Another staff person was not letting ANYONE to check into their room until 4 pm even though rooms were ready. I finally went to another desk person and was immediately given a room key.

    The room was fine. Breakfast was not. My child wanted a bowl of cereal. They were out of milk. They offered chocolate milk instead. In term of shuttle service to the cruise pier, the front staff offered a list of shuttle buses that were fully booked already. Not very organized. I probably won't recommend this place again.

    I paid extra for an upgraded room, and an hour before check in I was told the room was no longer available. Some kind of plumbing issue. We ended up getting a different room. The hotel was not very well maintained. The breakfast buffet was not free. We figured it was included with the stay ended up paying over 50 dollars for 2 people and a simple scrambled egg breakfast. Very disappointed. We went to the onsite bar and got a couple Bloody Mary's on special happy hour pricing. Paid 18$ including a tip. The next day we ordered the same thing and paid triple the price not including a tip, and was told they mistakenly gave me the wrong price the day before. They would not work with us, and basically said it wasn't there problem!! Search before you stay!! Much better options are available if you look around.

    It’s an older property. They do offer food but it is not included in the room price. Apparently you’re supposed to get a welcome bag when you check in. We did not get one but our friends did. Just a bottle of water was over $4.

    First of all our room wasn’t ready when we got there then we got there and the air conditioner wasn’t working very well. The elevator was constantly broken so traveling up and down multiple stairs with heavy luggage was nearly impossible as I am handicapped. There were no options for us. It was not a great experience at all.

    For what I paid for a room it was very rundown. I’ve had better motels. The lamp was covered in rust, it was musty and mildew smelling. The shower spigot diverter was broken, I had to put my finger up inside and push it closed so I could take a shower. The handle it was broken on it. I could not lock the deadbolt on the door without using all my strength to lift it up and force it into place. It had been obviously broken into previously which left a large gap where light came through. It was extremely unsecure. The main elevator was broken. Everybody was using the service elevator, which was having issues and had to continuously be reset. The breakfast was subpar and cold. I would not recommend anybody staying here. The bar in the front was great and the view was spectacular. That was it. I am very disappointed with the experience

    On the bright side, all other hotel staff were friendly, pleasant and very helpful. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and satisfactory but not worth $34 fee. Standard TV remote control super easy to navigate. Bed and pillows were like sleeping on clouds and sheets buttery soft.

    The elevator was not working the entire week. Staff kept telling us "tomorrow" when in fact other staff said it would be the following week. The room door was damaged and you could see into the room. The shower leaked continuously and there was no shower curtain. When I told the front desk, they handed me one. Very poorly maintained hotel. And be honest - don't lie to people about the elevator not getting fixed for awhile.

    Enjoyed the view of the beach. It was nice having the beach within walking distance. The room was spacious and clean. The only issue was it would take several tries to open our room with the key card. I informed the staff when checking out that they may need to have someone checjk the lock.

    The location was perfect — right across from the beach and close to restaurants and attractions. The pool area was clean and relaxing, with plenty of seating and a great view of the ocean. My only minor note is that the restaurant service could have been a bit faster during peak hours, but the food was still enjoyable. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely stay here again for a weekend getaway.

    We took a friend of 20 year friendship who was starting her chemo on that day and she just didn’t want to be at her home.when we arrived the Hotel entrance and halls had a heavy musty wet smell.only 1 elevator working for all the people in the Hotel. In room #204 the A/C unit had heavy wet mold all on top of the unit . The beds were very lumpy.we had to get our friend some breakfast outside of the Hotel, along with other people that walked by breakfast buffet as I watched them all turn around and leave.we were trying to make our friend have a special day.and it didn't happen !

    The property is across the street from the beach but the area around is really run-down. The rooms need to be renovated, beds need new mattresses, 3rd floor smelled like cigarettes, pool never had clean towels, and there is only one elevator. We waited a long time in a elevator line to get to our room. Friendly staff but property feels dingy.

    Overall, the state was OK, however, we waited three hours for our room assignment, which was done one week prior to arrival. We had to wait one hour after official check in for a room that should have been done and completed one hour before our official check-in custodial did a very poor job, in my opinion of prioritizing and getting our room available and ready by the 4 PM online website check in time we were provided some incentives to offset that inconvenience, but custodial staff was seen talking in socializing in the hallways and then janitorial carts, not moving from one room for over one and 1/2 hours on the fifth floor.

    This was a decent hotel for its location and our family of 5. Kids are 13,10 and 4 and I would take them back again. Food and Things to do well within walking distances. Overall a great spot. The pool was NICE!

    The pictures make the property 10 times better than what it actually is. The property also had a terrible odor the whole time I was there. Worst thing about this hotel is the fact they have one elevator. There were so many times I was waiting in literal lines to get on the elevator. The pool was nice but aside from that I wouldn’t ever stay here again.

    Room was not ready when we arrived, but staff made sure we knew we could enjoy the guest-only pool until it was. Very friendly & helpful staff. Only issue…the guest elevator was out of service. All guest used the small service elevator and the wait was long at times.

    First i want to say that the employees at this hotel are exceptional. Every person we encountered was very friendly, welcoming, and had a smile on their face. They truly make the stay enjoyable. The location is conveniently located across the beach, plus within walking distance of shopping and dining. One thing worth noting as our only complaint is the elevator. It was actually a running joke of visitors because each time we needed to use it, there were always others waiting as well. It seemed to be the only functioning elevator so it took awhile to be able to use it. We gave up waiting a couple times and used the stairs.

    Our room was filthy, there was food & broken glasses underneath the edge of our bed with an inch of dust on it so it had clearly been there a while, we found it when we dropped the remote. One of elevators weren’t working so everyone was limited to one that took a long while to get anywhere. The pool & bar were nice but that’s about all I recommend from this place.

    The lobby smelled bad, the room on the 3rd floor smelled like mold. Waited for another room, the room on the 5th floor had a bad smell to it as well and there were crumbs in the sheets, the room was not cleaned properly. I received a free drink pass for all the trouble, had a hard time at the bar, they didn’t want to honor it, I was forced to go back and get the manager then go back outside to the bar so I could hear them arguing about it, finally got my drink went to the pool and the pool looked dirty. I stayed at the Hilton resort off seawall blvd the first night of my trip with absolutely no problems, I packed all my stuff back in the truck and went back to the Hilton resort $300 dollars later. Horrible experience.

    The hotel staff was wonderful. Super helpful, charming and sweet. Very attentive to your every need. The hotel, itself, needs updating, room felt damp from the air-conditioning unit. The AC was cold concidering the temps outside. The pool is lovely, the swim up bar was nice and the food there at the bar was excellent with big servings. Location was great, close but not excactly in the center. Easy to get to everything.

    They lost one of our reservations. They had only one small working elevator. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, with exception of one waiter. Access to beach was nice. Rooms were nice and cold but a little worn.

    We just got married and wanted to extend our honeymoon by one more day, and we found an amazing room available at the DoubleTree on Expedia...or so we thought. To start, we did not get the room we booked on Expedia (1 king, corner balcony). We were told that the room we reserved was "flooded by the guest in there the night before". The front desk offered us another room, which was significantly cheaper and when we brought this to their attention they said "well, that's what happens when you book through a 3rd party" and then tossed us some complementary cookies we would have gotten anyways. Upon entering the room, the carpet was ripped up and the bathroom was not clean. I reached out to Expedia about the issue and they said they could cancel our booking and a refund would be at the discretion of the hotel management. We didn't want to have to fight as we were tired and just wanted to rest so we chocked it up to lesson learned. Only 1 elevator was in operation and according to other guests, that's been the situation for years. Finally, about 45 minutes before checkout, someone came knocking on our door asking if we were checking out. I have never had that happen at a hotel before and we felt very rushed to get out (nevermind that it was POURING rain outside so all of our stuff got wet because we were just trying to get out of there). Do yourself a favor and find another place to stay other than here - I wish we had.

    If you decide to come to this location. Dont let the picture fool you like it did me, its not, backyard on the sand! Theres a main street that separate it from the beach and a massive drop with very large stairs to carry stuff down or a little bit of a walk to a big hill to go down. The only reseaon I booked it was because i thought it was sand access but its not. And in the hallway there is a very bad odor and it over powers everything, maybe some bleach!

    We paid for a room with balcony. We were given a room on the first floor that had a window and the view was the pool not the gulf. The receptionists said that is what happens when you book through a third party like Expedia. Nothing they could do and and our stay was not like we expected. Will not be booking through Expedia again.

    We arrived on Sunday the first and we left on Thursday, 5th of June we were greeted by a lady that was absolutely amazing kind interacted with my granddaughter. The staff was amazing from the top to the bottom from the bottom to the top. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this property. I’ve stayed there a few times before I love it. Well, kept nice rooms. Clean the properties beautiful. I definitely will be going back.

    The AC had a strange sound to it but it cooled very well and the sound didn’t bother us after we went to sleep. Loved the balcony. The check in and check out staff were so friendly and pleasant to deal with. The food at the Longboard Pool Bar was good with an excellent beach viewi. We had a good stay and would stay again.
