Reviews
The hotel reviews are mixed, with some guests expressing satisfaction with the location, staff, and cleanliness, while others report significant issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service. Many guests mention ongoing renovations and construction, which may contribute to some of the issues.
- Convenient location near the beach and restaurants
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Cleanliness issues, including reports of mold, bed bugs, and cockroaches
- Maintenance issues, such as broken furniture, non-functioning appliances, and poor water pressure
- 1/5
Nunca había estado en un lugar tan deprimente. El cuarto estaba lleno de hongo. No había papel higiénico, toallas ni jabón.
- 2/5
Rooms with mold, humidity bad smell.
- 3/5
The bedding was clean and the fridge and tv ok. Swim pool was crowded, so I did not go. The coffee maker needed cleaning and probably hadn't been for a year. My guess. The breakfast was excellent and a full breakfast at that. Negative is that coffee is not 24/7 like other hotels. Only during breakfast time is it available. Staff was good and helped me when I needed it. All together, maintenance and cleaning are "lack of it". Never once saw a cleaner that serves rooms. I would not recommend this hotel. Give it a D+.
- 5/5
Great experience from start to finish!
- 2/5
This hotel was run down, there was mold in our room on the wall and ceiling. The staff was somewhat friendly at check in but gave us the wrong information for the shuttle and were rude when we tried to get it cleared up. The door to the balcony did not lock and was very hard to get open (swelled). The breakfast was terrible and ice machines did not work.
- 3/5
The breakfast was not good at all, very basic.
- 5/5
Friendly service clean rooms. It was a good experience.
- 5/5
Great location, clean room, nice Gulf view
- 1/5
The room was gross and the door didn't lock. Cheaply remodeled. The amenities were fun but the play ground area was soaking wet on the carpet
- 1.5/5
The front desk attendant was rude and wouldn’t even let me get any words out. She was in a hurry for nothing
- 5/5
I felt like the staff were being overworked, even though they hid it well through their smiles and effort.
- 1/5
The breakfast ‘buffet’ consisted of 3 cereals, apples, toast, nasty scrambled eggs and microwaved sausage links. The pool area was FILTY like it's never been cleaned or maintained. Cracked window. Rust, disgusting bathroom. Pool itself was very small and honestly shouldn’t even be used. Ice machines were gross. Our room just didn’t seem very clean or maintained in general. had patched holes all over the walls but not repainted, couldn't plug the tub, no curtain liner so when we showered the floors were wet and curtain was soaked. The faucet in bathroom was too short so difficult to wash hands in sink. The balcony was gross and not even something we wanted to step out onto. Plus it smelled like weed the whole time. There was pizza crust underneath the bed. The only thing good in our room was the mini fridge and AC worked. Parking was free, but the lot was so smell that late at night it was almost impossible to find a spot. It was advertised for laundry facilities and a fitness room but those didn't exist. They were storage rooms filled with supplies. There was no housekeeping the entire time we were there. We had to keep going downstairs to get more toilet paper and towels. The location was fine in relation to the beach, but it’s on the east side so a bit sketchy. If I go back, I definitely would NOT choose this hotel and I would stay on the West side.
- 2/5
The view was great from the balcony. The ac did work but was so noisy it kept me awake all hours of the night. The pool area was filthy. The ouside grounds were filthy. The continental breakfast was a continental breakfast. Slim Pickens. House keeping doesn't come in unless you ask for them to. They do have a drink machine but it was out of drinks. The place has broken windows and paint peeling off the walls. To say the least I didn't see any bugs in my room. The staff was nice, but I didn't see the first grounds keeper or maintenance personnel. Instead of fixing the toilet paper holder in my room they just left it hanging and sat the paper on the self. The pictures I posted on the broken toilet are pictures from the pool area. I reported the condition when my little granddaughter needed to use the facility but absolutely couldn't of course.
- 5/5
It was great!
- 2/5
the room was relatively clean, but worn out. The carpet in the room had a circle about 3 feet round with no carpet at all, just bare floor, The bed was comfortable however the walls were worn, scared and beams rusted. Not decorated, just plane and old. But the last straw was cancelling our transit van last minute, we were already boarding the elevator when we received a phone call cacelling our transit service. We had to find how to order a cab last minute. Very disturbing and no help from the staff. Comfort Inn ad Suites has been a disappointment in the last two stays --- we will be trying a new hotel group after this.
- 0.5/5
Nothing
- 1/5
Room had trash from the last person, as well as a used towel on the balcony. The walls were poorly painted with obvious spots missing. Mattress was thin and cheap. Breakfast was horrendous. Fitness room was used as some sort of “storage.” Whole property smelt and kinda just looked bad. Property looks nothing like the pictures
- 3/5
It was fine. Most ice machines were broken and you had to go to 5th floor for ice. They have new ice machines, they've been there for over a month waiting to be installed. Room was comfortable. Bathtub needs refinishing.
- 4/5
Rooms were not very clean from a paint deterioration point and there was no Mr Pibb in vending machine!
- 1/5
Beware of the huge cockroaches! We were packing our things up from a short overnight stay, and as we were we saw a cockroach that was about 3 inches long crawl up our curtain and another crawling towards the desk in the room. I’m completely sick. They have not emailed me back or anything after spending $250 for the night?! Disgusted to say the least.
- 1/5
This place was filthy. Not “older hotel but decent” filthy. Actually dirty, poorly maintained, and run down. The entire property felt neglected. There were flies everywhere, broken fixtures throughout the room, worn-out linens, damaged window screens, a broken tub stopper leaving the drain exposed, and a hair dryer that didn’t work. One of the AC units did not work, which in Texas heat and humidity is unacceptable. The lobby had pallets and materials sitting around like the hotel was mid-construction, but renovations won’t fix the fact that basic cleanliness and maintenance are clearly not priorities here. The staff was friendly, and they were honestly the only positive part of this stay. Unfortunately, nice employees cannot make up for how disgusting and poorly kept this property is. The surrounding area also did not feel safe or well-kept, which made the experience even worse. We only stayed one night, thankfully, because there was no way I would have stayed longer. I would never book here again and would strongly warn anyone considering it to spend a little more money and stay literally anywhere else. This hotel needs: • Accurate, updated photos • Deep cleaning • Major repairs • Better maintenance standards • Quality control inspections I genuinely do not understand how this property has the
- 5/5
Clean & comfortable. All staff that we interacted with were great!!!
- 2/5
Screens on patio was broken, rust on a.c unit outside, windows filthy, room carpet was old, smelled mildewed
- 2/5
Room was just ok. Bathroom and balcony doors were hard to close, there was a hole in the wall by the entry door and the tub floor was stained (dirty). Hotel needs some love! Otherwise, Location & bed comfort were a plus, breakfast was ok and the staff was good. Could have been worse but we wouldn’t recommend it unless the deal is to good to pass up!
- 1/5
Staff rude when I returned at 10 o'clock at night and asked why I didn't have clean towels or sheets. My pop spilled on my sheets in the morning, which is why I asked AT 9 AM To get fresh ones put one. Snotty desk person told me she'd grab me sheets and I could change them myself! Yeah, no. Not what I'm paying for! Another worker told me they were short on cleaning staff, most likely from low wages. Pool so chlorinated that even on the 3rd floor it stank. Carpets were old and worn, the drink vending machines were missing many items but the machine didn't tell you that until you put in your money. Then they won't refund, you have to pick something whether you like it or not, or forfeit your $3. Breakfast was microwave sausage, watery flavorless, soft wet breakfast potatoes, powdered wet scrambled eggs and sticky muffins. Had a make your own waffle bar. Some cereal and drinks. No bagels or cream cheese. Our room overlooked a filthy alley where everyone through their vapes and garbage. Not appealing! Partial view of the entertainment park and ocean. All in all, a bad experience. Rude staff and a dirty rundown motel. Staff wouldn't answer the phone when Expedia called them to rectify the situation. BAD!!!!
- 1/5
Lies. Lies. And more lies. The "breakfast" is some very poorly cooked eggs and something that looked like mini burgers or something (no one knows) and you make your own waffles. Fake. Strong smell in rooms. Smells of weed on the hallways. Chlorine smell next to the elevator.
- 5/5
Room had no kitchen. Balcony door did not open the first night. It was fixed around 4pm the next day. Little make ready issues in the room but as it was just myself in the room I managed.
- 3/5
This is an older building it is clean and the staff were very nice and welcoming. The breakfast was very disappointing at all the comfort inns we have stayed at had full breakfast this had waffles and cold cereal only.
- 5/5
Nothing bad to say, there some remodeling going on and its not a mess
- 1/5
Needed cleaning!
- 1/5
DIRTY
- 5/5
Standard room provided all that was needed for overnight stay!
- 4/5
The breakfast was horrible every morning of my three day stay the last day they some food truck supposedly didn’t show up and they didn’t even have breakfast
- 1/5
This place very dirty.. The chairs are very dirty on the balcony. I had to buy Lysol to clean them. There was lot of hair on the towels. Also found someone hair clip and food on the dinner tray. The pool chlorine was unbearable and extremely dirty tissue on the floor and trash and broken window. I was there the first day we were there and when we left .We stood there for two nigh stay. Don’t stay here very filthy
- 3/5
Door handle needed to be fix and no water pressure in the shower
- 1/5
Not a good first impression. We ended up leaving to a hotel down the road. First staff take their time to come to the desk to check you in. 3 of them were in the next room, 1 was folding towels the other 2 were having a conversation. They knew we and another guest were there but needed to have their conversation about personal life first. The gal checking us in was nice. The pictures online are deceptive. The lobby is dreary. The walls have like bubbly areas. The elevators dirty. Going to our room, the halls were dark and smelled. Walls in bad condition. Entering our room, I am positive the floors were not vacuumed, the bedspread had loose strings fraying all over it giving it an unclean look. The window was permanently hazy so couldn’t see out. The worst was the several black hairs we found all over the sink. That was the final decision we were going to a clean hotel. So you paid for 2 hotel rooms that night, but felt relieved to have a comfortable place to stay elsewhere. Would not recommend.
- 5/5
Jessica front desk was wonderful. The small eating area kept clean.and food fresh
- 5/5
Bien si me gustó buen descanso
- 3/5
Parking was good. No laundry room like listed so mad about that. Coffee pot was missing the filter basket so was useless. Tub super slippery getting in and out. Shower curtain broke on one end so wouldn’t stay shut. Could have offered better breakfast selection. Ice machines broke on all floors.
- 5/5
Hotel was cool right across from the beach .. the only thing I did not like was that the ice machine was down .
- 2/5
The property doesn’t look anything like the pictures.
- 2/5
Hotel is run down
- 4/5
Good place for a quick overnight stay
- 4/5
Breakfast was lacking and ran out of many offerings before closing time
- 3/5
Breakfast was nice and staff was friendly but every ice machine was broke, our room smelled like mildew it was extremely humid in our room no matter what i changed the temperature to. it was ok but nothing fancy
- 3/5
was a stay over until we went on our Royal Caribbean Cruise 🛳 the very next day. The place was spell like loud bleach spell. Also, the lady was very Kind that checked us in. The room was unacceptable, but we stayed because we needed to lay our heads somewhere. No face towels, mold around bathtub, make sure you sheets and clean too. Ask for clean towells if necessary. There was small dust piles behind bathroom door and new bathroom door and ask them vacuumthe floors too... SMH. It just didn't feel clean and comfortable like I am use to. I would say only if you have to stay here. It's very near the Galveston Beach and Boardwalk.
- 2/5
The property was possibly the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed at
- 2/5
Room was not very clean. Breakfast was sub par in quality
- 5/5
Muy buena aplicación
- 1/5
Did not stay. Room had mold under the window seal, line was old and beds look slept on, bath was not clean well. Door locks jammed and could not enter with ease,
- 2/5
This hotel advertises a gym, when we got there. The gym is a storage room. I made sure the hotel i booked had a gym, only for it to be a lie.
- 4/5
We never got fresh towels . No one came to clean the room. But it was a nice place, convenient for walking to the beach and pleasure pierre .
- 3/5
Breakfast was extremely basic. Super friendly staff. Did not tell us there was a cruise shuttle.
- 2/5
This room was unfortunate. Multiple items were broken in the room including the main door handle and the toilet paper holder. The fitness room is used for storage.
- 3/5
Cool outside.
- 1/5
Room was dirty, after the switched out room type, had To us the sofa pull out bed, found an apple in the frame, under mattress was crumbs, dirt sand. Just nasty. I need a refund
- 5/5
Stained carpet, ripped window screens, overall the property is not kept up.
- 3/5
Need to be cleaned!! We asked for them to clean the room because there was hair
- 4/5
Clean, nice staff
- 1/5
The whole hotel was gross, stained towels, mold on the walls, holes in the walls, no pillow case or towels in the room. The staff were all nice and as helpful as they could be.
- 5/5
Good location to the pier and beach .
- 5/5
Will be back
- 3/5
Good staff. Breakfast was not great, barely had anything.
- 5/5
there was no gym
- 2/5
N/a
- 2/5
Run down. Breakfast was minimal
- 3/5
Poor internet, mediocre breakfast, diey pool area, elevators, etc. Door to balcony didnt work. We reserved 2 queens and told is when got there "no queens but upgraded to king." We didn't want it, no choice.
- 2/5
Room was not clean, then they cleaned it and it still smelled bad and there were pieces of food on the floor. We only had 2 towels for 4 people and the desk agent wasn’t there half the time to ask for any. There was not any coffee really available and if there was there was no creamer. Breakfast was sub par as we got there and mostly everything was gone. We got there at 8:30. The pool was ok for the most part but we couldn’t stay more than 15 minutes due to our eyes burning from the chlorine. We were told we could check in after 1. We arrived at 2:30 and were told to wait till 3:30.
- 3/5
Plenty of parking and easy check in. Tub and shower won’t stop dripping. Rust stains in the tub. Water pressure was very low. Good breakfast and view of the ocean. Near the beach.
- 1/5
There is only a small, cramped parking lot so we had to park on the street. The hotel smelled of chemicals. We were told by reception that our room door sticks and it was difficult to open. The indoor pool was the reason we booked here. The pool water was hazy (you couldn't even see all of the steps) and had an overwhelming smell of bleach.
- 5/5
Great king room
- 5/5
Sll good
- 2/5
Room was not ready at 5pm and have to wait … once ready .. it was trash and crumbs on the floor and food still in the fridge… bathroom was in bad condition with broken walls and rusted stuff everywhere. Same trash was by the elevator for all two days I stayed there. There’s little to no maintenance done at all .. the worst was mold all over the mattress… super disgusted.
- 5/5
the only think i was not happy about it was the pool was cold.
- 2/5
Garbage in floors, staff not knowledgeable of the area
- 3/5
Staff and location was great !
- 4/5
Staff was accommodating to my late check-in. Bed was comfortable and room had a great view of the pier.
- 5/5
Great service
- 3/5
There was no gym. It was filled with supplies. There were was only 2 towels in the room for 4 people
- 4/5
Nice breakfast
- 4/5
Rooms were just okay, loved the location close to beach and boardwalk.
- 3/5
The room was ok, it was dated. It did have a balcony overlooking the pier and the ocean. That made it worth it. The bed was not comfortable and shook anytime any moved.
- 3/5
The free breakfast wasn't worth the price. The room felt unclean.
- 3/5
Staff friendly. Rooms aged and in need of repair.
- 3/5
Definitely could use some updates.
- 5/5
Everything was good, clean and staff are friendly and kind
- 4/5
We stayed here, because they advertised they had a shuttle from the airport and a shuttle to the port. When we called about the airport shuttle they told us to call back a week before our stay. When we called a week before our stay, they told us we had to call TWO weeks in advance!!! They also told us to reserve the port shuttle when we got there. When we got there and requested the port shuttle we were told, they weren't running it, because they didn't have a driver. The breakfast didn't have very much on it at all.No bagels. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Just disappointed in the shuttle services.
- 1/5
There was no water for drinking thr rooms hardly had any towels or toilet paper. Have stayed at comfort before this was disappointing.
- 4/5
Loved the location.
- 3/5
Was informed no shuttle the day we checked in which is the day before our cruise. The hotel desk attendant was rude. Coffee was aweful
- 4/5
Comfortable room at a nice price
- 2/5
Dirty
- 5/5
Great location, friendly staff, perfect room for our needs. King, lounge chair, spacious, balcony, breakfast, great parking.
- 1/5
The hotel was terrible the water in the shower had 0 pressure the tub was dirty they claim they did upgrades that was poorly done not to mention the breakfast area was dirty the juice machine was out of order I probably wouldn’t have drunk it anyways I also don’t overheard to other people complaining about the water in their rooms I feel like I was robbed for the price it was Mardi Gras weekend everything else was booked so I had to no choice to stay I was going on a cruise the next day so it was only one night the only positive thing was the ladies at the front desk was very nice other then that stay away from this place if possible.
- 2/5
NO LAUNDRY! We were takimg a cruise and needed hotel laundry, which they state they have, but they DO NOT!! Also very run down old rooms. Lots of stuff newds repairs and painting. Also no fitness center. No signs to hang on your door so gousekeeping doesn’t come in. We were told they won't come to eooms unless you request. No safe either. Poorly run!! We heard about a housekeeper who quit from the from desk and the other housekeepers didn't want to clean any extra rooms, so they were short rooms. Staff should not be making those comments to fuests.
- 4/5
Room was clean and great for a quick stay before a cruise.
- 5/5
Overall clean and location was very good
- 2/5
Bed was awful, but linens were nice. Tub was super high & difficult to step over. There was a HVAC control on the wall, but A/C is a loud wall/window unit. No shower gel or soap (other than hand soap bar). The 2 resin chairs on the balcony had bird feces all over them. Would not recommend.
- 4/5
2nd I don’t need much for breakfast, but….. the juice machine out of order, with a big sign on it. The small refrigerator was empty. Was it not working? Or all contents were gone both days I went to breakfast? 3rd It was Mardi Gras weekend (the first of 2 weekends). There was ZERO decorations! The entire island celebrates Mardi Gras, and proud of it! Every hotel decorated festively that we have stayed over the years, except for this one.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and front desk was very nice & efficient. The parking was controlled for guests only. That was very nice especially during the parade.
- 4/5
The room was clean and the staff were nice. But I will have to say the air conditioner in the room probably needs to be serviced and freon added. Other than that a great stay and experience.
- 2/5
Not enough staff working. Hardly nothing for breakfast and the pool was all moldy. Absolutly disgusting
- 5/5
View of the water from the balcony.
- 2/5
The room need repaio
- 1/5
No towels, toilet paper holder dangling, temperature gage poorly attached. Toilet backed up with no assistance to correct. The phone was not connected and had no cord.
- 3/5
Not enough towels Ran out of tissue Said there was a fitness facility it was storage
- 1/5
Night front desk staff, Angela, was extremely rude, condescending, and disrespectful. I am in Galveston at least 3 times a year and her unprofessionalism has made me decide to never stay at this location again.
- 5/5
Very accommodating front staff and lovely cleaning staff. Clean room, comfortable bed.
- 2/5
Hotel is outdated. Hallways and rooms are smelly. Hotel doesn’t allow food delivery. It doesn’t have a market and vending machines only take $1 bills and hotel don’t offer change.
- 3/5
Not enough towels in room
- 2/5
The hotel is in bad shape. The fitness center is no such thing.. it’s storage. There are old construction supplies and debris in the stairwells. My room had multiple lights not working, a damaged bathroom door, bad water pressures, hair in the batting and curtain rod falling off, rodent or animal droppings on the balcony, and the windows sealed poorly so any wind would howl.
- 4/5
Drink fountain was out of order
- 1/5
Old and worn out. Bathroom door was locked and we could not get access so had to change rooms.
- 4/5
I received an upgrade, however the room needed work. There was chipped paint throughout the room and the shower curtain was torn, but the staff was awesome.
- 2/5
The room and bathroom was not in good condition
- 4/5
Only got 2 towels. No wash cloths and only one ice machine working.
- 5/5
yes. great staff
- 4/5
Comfy beds
- 5/5
Nice beds
- 5/5
Staff gave us a free upgrade of room
- 2/5
Empty lotion dispenser, shower curtain torn, took down the second day and never replaced, football size hole in window screen, not all towels restocked
- 3/5
We end up getting a uber and it literally took her 6 minutes from hotel to port drop off. The providers shuttle was taking over a hour or more. Ridiculous. Hotel room did have a good few of the ocean from the balcony
- 2/5
The checkin ladywas rude. A
- 2.5/5
When I arrived the reception was rude my reservation was for two beds, and the receptionist insisted that I take a kings size bed that would sleep 4-people . Not until she saw me on the phone she gave me a room w/ 2 beds. And there was roaches in my room.
- 1/5
Horrible, dirty, no juices, late shuttles. Just gross and not good.
- 5/5
Breakfast was very little for what they call a buffet. No juices available
- 5/5
All good great service about breakfast i have no idea o woke up late ?
- 1/5
I stayed one night as I was visiting family at UTMB and the service was absolutely awful. The morning women was rude and didn’t offer any kind of help when I informed her my mom was in critical condition and I had a meeting with the doctors at 3pm and would like to know if I could check in at 2. She offered no type of help or assistance to get me checked in earlier. I then returned to get changed in at least the lobby restroom at 2:15 where I was able to be checked in by the afternoon shift woman. When I checked out the following morning I informed the front desk of the sagging paint on the wall of the bathroom and the mold in the shower and she again offered no condolences or tried to make anything right. For the price I paid for the night I definitely didn’t expect to have the experience I did. I expected more out of a choice hotel but I will book with an Airbnb next time.
- 5/5
Room could have been cleaner (and needs some repairs (balcony door framing and ability to lock it, wall ledge above a/c, bathroom ceiling/wall patch repairs) but didnt bother complaining/asking for a change because we are just too tired and it's only for a night. Will mention at checkout about cleanliness though -shower needs a good scrubbing to remove mold (we wore flipflops in it and just didnt touch the walls instead)
- 5/5
Eggs tasted bland (powdered?)... but the rest of the breakfast was great.
- 4/5
Location and staff was perfect. Staff was helpful and cruise port shuttle was great.
- 4/5
It was very easy to check in. The staff was very helpful
- 3/5
The bedding and towels had stains. The shower wasn’t as clean as it could have been. The entire hotel had a moldy smell. However- the staff was incredibly nice.
- 5/5
Nice convenient location.
- 5/5
Everything was excellent and will stay again when I’m in the area
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
Great location. Friendly staff.
- 3/5
The hotel needs some tender loving care. We stayed two nights while waiting to take our cruise on the Carnival Jubilee. I would not choose to stay here again. The staff was not a problem, I found them friendly and helpful. The whole hotel needs work. We ate breakfast the first morning and I ended up spitting out the waffle because it had a very bitter taste to it. My husband’s did as well. We chose to not partake in breakfast the morning of the cruise. I called in door dash. They had no orange juice and limited options with other things. The coffee was awful as well. We will definitely sail out of Galveston again but I will pay more and stay someplace else.
- 4/5
Online stated shuttle from airport. They DO NOT HAVE THIS SERVICE. Cost us 200.00 extra we didn't plan on to get to the hotel.
- 4/5
Clean room, comfortable bed, parking was easy access.
- 5/5
Clean room nice staff
- 3/5
Shampoo carpet so room smell fresher
- 5/5
The lady at the front desk was very helpful. The room was decent. It took me a few minutes to figure out the main light situation in the bathroom, it is built into the mirror. And I was pleasantly surprised to find the room had a balcony that looked out at the ocean and the Pleasure Pier, which is walkable distance.
- 4/5
Older hotel but clean, great location
- 5/5
It was nice there was a mixed up with my family room made by them not you guys but everything worked out needed one more room and they had one available at the last minute
- 2/5
Pool and location only good thing about this hotel. Room has holes in it, breakfast was cold one day, they ran out of food on multiple occurances, no gym even though it says they have one, no washer dryer even though it says they have one, saw roaches, one lady there is very rude she works night. The morning lady is very nice. You have to bring towels down and trash.
- 5/5
All the employees was very nice
- 5/5
Hotel is very clean and convenient to many places. The staff are what sets it apart!! We've here a few times and every single time we feel like we are being welcomed like family!!! What great hospitality!!
- 4/5
The room was clean. The bedspreads looked a lil worn, but not terrible. The desk host was kind. The breakfast was good with lots of options.
- 5/5
Clean room, breakfast decent with hot options. The staff set this property apart. This is our 3rd stay and they are consistently fantastic!!!
- 5/5
Front desk night clerk was professional and helpful and nice
- 4/5
Staff friendly and accommodating to our early arrival.
- 1/5
This property denied our stay and refused to refund us claiming we had our card declined but refused to refund our payment for the room. Make it make sense! Management was never available to resolve the issue and aside from that the room being dirty rough beds terrible, just terrible customer service!
- 3/5
Linens were stained. Door to balcony did not operate well. Breakfast buffet was so minimalistic worst we’ve ever had. Staff was very nice and professional.

Lady at front desk was so barky.. literally barking orders at me like some kind of drill, sergeant that I excused myself and said I’d be right back and slept in their parking lot in my car because I wasn’t going to let her ruin my beautiful day at the beach
- 4/5
Staff was great!! Will stay again.

Comfort Inn reneged on plans that were agreed on earlier. I asked to leave my car on 02 Nov 25 for 7 days and stay the night of 09 Nov 25, Two people agreed to it. I arrived around 11:00 am, Sunday 02 Nov to leave my car. The lady at the counter would not let me because I am supposed to stay 1 night then leave my car. I tried to rent a room that day and she said no. I wanted to pay in advance for the parking and room and she said no. She was no help at all. I called Comfort Inn Friday 31 Oct 25 and talked to a young lady at the front desk and she agreed everything was OK, I could leave car on 2 Nov and stay the night of 09 Nov. Everything was in order. It wasn't. After trying 5 places to park (reservations were needed) I finally found a parking place. No thanks to Comfort Inn.

A nice place to stay before the cruise. Really appreciated the ability to park and leave my care there. A great convenience and a good price.
- 5/5
Love it, would choose this location everyone I visit.
- 5/5
I was on vacation. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good.
- 5/5
Very nice stay
- 1/5
Check-in took a long time since the person on duty had other things to attend to. She did give us an upgraded room (King Suite). If you could consider it that, the TV in the living area was broken, the furniture was situated so you could not watch TV comfortably if the TV would have worked, refrig was broken, yhe toilet paper holder was broken, curtains didn't fit over the air conditioner, and half of the lights were missing bulbs. When we checked in we signed up for the shuttle to the cruise terminal and selected the 11 am shuttle since our arrival time to board the ship was noon. The next morning they started calling at 9:30 am to say we needed to take that shuttle. I told them we weren't at the hotel and had scheduled the 11 am shuttle. They called several more times and insisted we go earlier since there was a festival and traffic was bad. We ended up being really rushed and left before 10:30 am. I will not be staying at this hotel again.

Staff very professional and helpful
- 1/5
This Hotel was the worst. Also gave my review on Google. Dirty is an understatement. Rude front desk serice from Valerie. Parking lot was small. Most people had to park along the street. Constuction on the building next door. Overall bad experience.
- 2/5
The location was great — just a 5-minute walk to the amusement park, and there’s a Chick-fil-A right across the street. You can rent umbrellas and chairs on the beach for $40 a day, which was convenient. The building is old but looked fairly clean. However, many things were disappointing. The pool was not heated, and the water was too cold to swim. There was no hot tub, even though the website mentioned one. The fitness room and business center were used as storage rooms, so they were not available for guests at all. The hotel’s website really needs to be updated — most of the listed amenities are no longer available. I didn’t find any of the things I expected based on the website. I planned to pack light and do laundry there, but the staff said the laundry room was closed permanently. During busy hours, parking gets full and guests have to park on the street. The balcony door lock was broken, and even though I asked for repair, no one ever came. There’s also no housekeeping service, and when I went to the front desk for clean towels, I was told to bring the used ones — apparently, towel exchange is self-service. The location is nice, but the facilities, maintenance, and accuracy of the hotel’s website need serious improvement.

Our room was great
- 1/5
No Tv in my first room.
- 5/5
Nice clean room , quiet, on the seawall to well and look at ocean, restaurants close by, pier rides and entertainment for kids, 5 min from port
- 4/5
Floors in the entrance area where a little dirty due to indoor pool being right there next to elevators so a strong bleach/chlorine smell and wet footprints in hallway and elevators. A little noises as it’s near bars but the room was decent. Beds were comfy. Linen was soft and clean. It was cheap at 84 dollars. Employees were nice. It’s decently located to bars. Good for a guy on his own but don’t take a girl there.
- 3/5
There were no towel racks in our room.
- 5/5
.
- 3/5
Now my roommate didn’t have that same experience but I’m only speaking on my personal experience. Now for the room itself. I loved the touchscreen mirror but with an amenity like that, I would think the room would be just as cool. But it wasn’t. The room I was in needs some serious tlc. The window has a torn screen, the furniture was a bit tattered, bed wasn’t that comfortable to my liking and there was a mild odor I couldn’t make out what it was. Maybe that was something in the air with the hotel being so close to the beach. Overall it was okay for the one stay I had. I personally wouldn’t stay any longer than that.
- 5/5
Will book again . Hotel is a little outdated
- 5/5
Hotel room was absolutely stunning with a great view of the pier. Everything was clean and staff was nice. Was close to multiple restaurants and attractions. Indoor pool was very clean and warm.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 5/5
Never again booking anywhere else we Loved our stay comfortable and quiet, and the night view was also amazing , Great service nice and quick and on our way out we had great service from a super sweet girl and she let us know about discounts if we signed up for comfort in rewards

Close to the sea wall. Good location.
- 4/5
Good!
- 1/5
I got bit but bed bugs and I tried to let them know u was leaving and not going to be spending the other night I paid for...they wouldn't refund me for the night I didn't stay
- 4/5
Close to everything i needed
- 4/5
Everything went great except for their shuttle service to port in the morning. Never showed up and wouldnt refund our shuttle payment. Said itvwas an putside provider. We would stay again, just making other transportation arrangements.
- 1/5
Checked out at midnight because of roaches and I'm not talking about cockroaches. Those little brown roaches from uncleanliness and no extermination.
- 2/5
Great location. Very beat up property. The walls were missing paint and had huge holes from previous decor and old curtain brackets still on the walls. They changed the carpet in the hallways but not the rooms. The toilet was utterly disgusting with stains and missing paint and porcelain. I would not stay there again.
- 2/5
Great location with parking. The walls were missing chunks of paint, old holes on the walls from old decor, big holes left from old curtain brackets. The toilet was utterly disgusting. Not only did it have stains, but it was missing paint and porcelain finish. I would not stay there again.
- 4/5
Overall good stay. Was a little disappointed there were any courtesy bottles of water. I needed this for medical purposes. Also, there were no laundry bags in room. Other than that, no complaints
- 5/5
Great place by the beach
- 4/5
Lack of up keep by the owners/ management , the staff was great.
- 1/5
Tv did not work.
- 3/5
ok
- 5/5
Slept like a baby!
- 2/5
Light fixtures broken, only enough towels for one person, outdated overpriced
- 4/5
Indoor pool was to cold… unbearably cold🙁 honestly was the main reason I picked this hotel just in case we got rained in… fortunately we had great weather.. but kids were disappointed about not being able to swim.
- 5/5
The staff were very polite and helpful. The room was clean with a nice view of the ocean. The free breakfast was really good and included a full menu.
- 3/5
It was close to dining areas and a good spot locally but I didn't like the fact the my room wasn't cleaned until check out, the toilet was to short and the faucet didn't stick out far enough from the sink wall. The bed and furniture were very low to me. I have a back problem. Never made it to breakfast only lasted until 9am.
- 1/5
Confort inn and suites is so dirty, one of the rooms i had AC not working. Balconies are dirty
- 5/5
Loved everything about it!
- 3/5
Loved the view from my dirty windows with raggedy screens. They need to clean and vacuum the floors.
- 5/5
Bed was comfy
- 2/5
Nothing works, Soda machine, ice machine, They don’t have change.
- 5/5
I nice stay
- 1/5
Dirty Hotel, dirty inside and outside, smelled bad, broken or non working items like windows, doors, laundry room, no bulbs in any lights in room, beds were awful.
- 3/5
Nice location but the hotel room was run down. Ripped shower curtains, spots on floors, damages to the door. The bed frame was makeshift with metal bars the kids kept hitting. The guests above us were loud and bouncing some type of ball every morning.
- 3/5
I would just recommend for the staff to really pay attention to the cleanliness. There was hair all over the bathroom floor from previous people. All corners all covered with dirt and built up debris. Balcony was pretty dirty. Staff is very nice though, which we appreciated. Hotel is right across the street from the beach so the access was pretty easy.
- 4/5
I liked how close it was to the seawall and loved the bed n pillows.
- 1/5
Bad
- 2/5
Needs paint. Floors were leaking water everywhere. Food was horrible tv didn’t work.
- 4/5
Customer Service was great. Room was average. the hotel isbin a great locattion.
- 1/5
This place is a dump!!! I cannot even believe how dirty this place was and for a ridiculous amount of money!!! The view from the joke of a balcony was dirty men’s underwear!!! You definitely stay here at your own risk!!! The room was seedy!!! I cannot believe people stay there just bc it’s close to the beach! If not for the kids I would have left and called credit card co for a refund! The place should be condemned!!!
- 4/5
Smelled a little old but being that it's near the salt water I've come to to the realization that all hotels/motels and rental homes in the Galveston area have the same smell. Breakfast was nothing fancy. The pool was good. Balconys in the room make for a nice view of the city and partial ocean view. But it was nice. The AC was good but could have cooled to a lower temperature. We would stay here again.
- 2/5
The bad things were: The soda machines were sold out and I lost a dollar in one of them, the hotel would not reimburse me. The pool area was filthy. The fitness room was a storage room. In my room the toilet paper holder was broken, and one of the bed lights was out. The staff never smiled and we’re not friendly. Also the room was not a suite, no couch etc.and to get clean towels you had to take your towels to the desk and exchange them for clean ones.
- 1/5
The coffee maker was dirty Floor was dirty
- 5/5
Walkable distance to restaurants, the pier, the beach, and souvenir shops. The hotel has rooms with views of the beach and the staff is friendly.
- 5/5
It was so nice during the 4th of July weekend. Sitting out on the balcony and people watching was so much fun. Watching the fireworks was great. The beds were so comfortable. I will be staying there more.
- 3/5
Old and broke
- 2/5
The bed was low quality and just uncomfortable. It was the lowest quality before a roll- out bed. The shower had the lowest water pressure to rinse your hair was so difficult. Filling a tub was not an option. The room had no hooks or towel racks. So dealing with wet suits was difficult. Counters get crowded without any options to place your stuff. The breakfast ran out and was just left empty. This included coffee. There were empty displays at breakfast, where other places have grab and go options. The lobby always had empty coffee. We asked for sheet for a pullout bed, and were told they would bring them when they were clean. We had to ask twice for sheets. The elevators are scary. Lots of creaking and moving slow. So for the cost, I have stayed at much better locations.
- 4/5
We enjoyed our stay. Service was friendly and professional. Room and hotel was clean.
- 3/5
Definitely needs upgrades. TV channels didn’t work, mattress on some kind of cot looking springs, and had to ask for towels as there were none in our room and apparently this was the case with someone else’s room as well. The fitness room wasn’t open and the front desk girl said it was being remodeled, however, when you looked through the glass door you could clearly tell it was being used as storage. The breakfast was your VERY basic type breakfast. The positive was the location.
- 1/5
Property was very dated. Check in lady was rude. While returning to room at 6:15 am, someone was entering our room with a room key. He stated he was checking in but had a shirt around his face, no luggage, and ran down the back steps when confronted. Police were called. New girl at the front desk was extremely nervous when police arrived. I honestly feel like she gave the guy a key to enter our room while she saw us in the lobby. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
- 4/5
Inside the hotel was very clean and smelled fresh. BUT there was excessive trash on the outside of the hotel to include in the parking lot. My stay was quite and nice though.
- 1/5
The lady during the day was very nice and helpful. The night shift lady when I asked about the internet and tv not working was very rude. When I told her not to talk to me like that in front of my kids she became very angry and told me she would call the police and have me removed if I didn’t go to my room. When I told her we don’t have to go to our room she said she is calling the police and I was being combative. Worst experience for me and my three daughters
- 4/5
Close to the beach and food and drink options close by.
- 5/5
I asked for a room with a view of the Pier and she made it happen! Thanks!
- 4/5
Overall, the stay was good. Great walking distance to the beach with an indoor pool! Room was nice and bed was okay for the stay.
- 4/5
Buena, solo que les falta un poco más de calidad en el servicio al cliente y tener alguien que hable español, es zona turística y no había nadie que hablara español
- 2/5
Overall, my stay was good. The staff were professional, kind, and welcoming. I genuinely appreciate that. However, I was disappointed by the quality of the room, especially considering the price I paid. As a young Coast Guardsman traveling on a budget, it’s hard to justify the cost for what I experienced. The comforter was placed upside down (tags facing up and facing my face), one of the towels had long black hairs tangled in it, and the balcony door was extremely difficult to open. The beds were also much firmer than expected not necessarily a flaw, just not my preference, as I usually go for a softer, more plush mattress. I usually never complain, but I expected more for the cost. I probably wouldn’t book again at this price point, but I do want to thank the staff for their hospitality.
- 4/5
Close walk to the ocean
- 5/5
Very clean, friendly, and breakfast was good. View was great we had beach and pleasure pier view
- 3/5
We were not told until we checked in that we had to pay $10 per person to ride the shuttle to the port. That was on top of $50 to park there during our cruise. It was cheaper to pay for parking at the port
- 5/5
Overall I liked my stay there and I would stay there again.
- 3/5
It’s a good location. Breakfast was good. Easy walk across the street to the beach.Bring your own over the door hooks. There is absolutely nothing to hang towels on or wet bathing suits. It’s too windy to hang them on the balcony. The Wi-Fi service didn’t always work.
- 5/5
It was a very comfortable stay. We enjoyed the balcony with the nice weather. The seafood restaurant and bar next door were a plus, since they were in walking distance. Definitely would stay here again.
- 1/5
I had to asked for another room, the 1st one everything was wrong, missing light fixture, iron board was missing & hot water in tub was leaking. Very disappointed
- 3/5
Vending machines were not working properly. Took our money. Leaking somewhere. Orange cones in the lobby. Really gross bathroom. Dried urine behind the commode.
- 5/5
Right by the beach. Close to cruise line.
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
Average
- 5/5
Really nice place to stay the night. Walking distance to the beach, the pier and restaurants. Really nice staff.
- 3/5
Close to the beach and pier!
- 2/5
Poorly maintained. Unclean.
- 5/5
Bad ass!
- 5/5
When you check-in you get 2 key cards (unless by yourself) as well as a parking pass. They will ask if you would like house keeping, but house keeping will only come in your room if you say yes. If you say no you have to go down for extra towels if needed. The room i stayed in was very clean. Yes maybe a crumb sized stain or 2 on the bedding but the sheets were clean. The bathroom was also clean and even came with shampoo, conditioner, and lotion dispensers attached to the walls. The only part of the room was the balcony but that’s just because of bird poop which is understandable as seagulls are everywhere in Galveston. Breakfast is at 6am-9am and has cereal, oatmeal, waffles( texas-shaped that you make yourself), muffins, bread to toast, already made(eggs, sausage, potatoes) coffee, hot water, tea, cold water, apple and orange juice, lemonade, and 2% and whole milk. The breakfast area is very clean. There is an on-site snack and drink vending machine as well as an ice machine. The pool hours are 9am-10pm. The pool is heated and clean with zero cloudiness. I had an amazing stay so don’t let the other reviews scare you.
- 1/5
Our experience was horrible, we went on a family vacation, we booked 2 rooms across each other. One of the rooms the tv reception was horrible, we could not watch any Chanel’s, when we brought it up to the manager she said there was nothing the hotel could do. Then we were out all day at the beach and the room had not been cleaned, no towels to shower with, when I went down to speak with the same manager she said I’ll send some one up to clean it, she literally told me “I will not sit here and argue with you” I just wanted an explanation of why 1 of our rooms was cleaned and the other was not!!! We had to leave the room the whole family wet and sweaty so the room could be cleaned!!! The manager did not apologize she was just RUDE!!!
- 5/5
Easy to all points
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
The room, hotel itself (including the pool and area) and staff were great. Unfortunately, the area itself has nothing to offer, as there is no dining or shopping close by.
- 3/5
Noisy outside, felt like spring break also not enough breakfast options
- 4/5
Great staff
- 3/5
The service was perfectly fine, and the hotel was satisfactory. The only issue we had was we were unable to use our balcony which is the entire reason we booked a room close to the ocean. Every time we opened our door our room immediately filled with the smell of marijuana from people on other balconies smoking.
- 5/5
Perfect location, everything is within walking distance.
- 4/5
We had a balcony over looking the restaurant next door and the alley between was very dirty and noisy due to soda cans blowing everywhere.
- 5/5
Nope
- 5/5
Staff are helpful and nice Great service .Beds are comfortable pillows are soft . Bathrooms are clean too . clean for not a 5 star hotel. Will stay again .
- 4/5
The view and location was everything!!!
- 5/5
The balcony over looking the ocean!!! Loved it.
- 1/5
Queen beds and upon arrival i was given a Queen bed and a fold out couch that had no sheets of pillows. When asked for them they told me to come get them. Angela was nasty and stated that if i had an issue to talk to someone about it.
- 2/5
Staff wasn’t helpful. No options. Don’t take Apple Pay. Rooms had crumbs all over the floor. Sheets were clean. No soap in the shower.
- 5/5
Nice place to stay, easy access to the beach and bubba gumps. We don’t do rides but it’s a short walk to pleasure pier. You get a nice view of the beach from the balcony and can annoy the sea breeze. The breakfast was great had coffee and sausage with eggs.
- 5/5
Very nice staff, rooms were clean and location was fantastic
- 5/5
Sunrise at the beach
- 5/5
Great place great price.
- 5/5
Exemplary welcome and assistance from Karin. Service despite being (5) mins to 12 midnight she smiled. She made us feel like we were at "her" home and in today's climate, that made us feel REALLY good. We'll DEFINITELY return just to see her again.
- 5/5
Overall the place was orderly, on closer inspection the hallways need vacuuming Our room has debris from previous occupants in corners. Also the toiletries had not been filled hence no conditioner very little soaps and lotion.
- 5/5
Nice stay
- 5/5
The front desk clerk had a great personality.
- 3/5
They offered transport to the cruise ship which was good
- 4/5
Front desk employees were great, room was dirty, probably could've used another look before customers were roomed. The TV is pretty old and picture on it wasn't clear, hurt my vision trying to focus on it so it stayed off throughout the stay.
- 3.5/5
It is not country inn and suites anymore. It is comfort inn and suites. Hallway had plaster chips on the floor. From remodeling
- 5/5
When we checked in the lady checking us in was new. There was no one there to help her. So, that took awhile.
- 0.5/5
Unwelcoming staff with unnecessary attitude. This hotel also has roaches, roaches travel which made me restless and uncomfortable.
- 4/5
We saw roaches in the door way to our room There was no hot tub like the pictures showed (spa was broken) I called multiple times asking if the pool was heated and it was not heated it was cold. The maintenance guy even turned the heater up.
- 1.5/5
Roaches and dirty for price paid
- 4/5
The shower curtain need to be replaced, I asked for extra blanket and was told there was no extra blankets.
- 2.5/5
They advertise a gym and a indoor pool with hot tub that we¿re not in existence. The breakfast that they offered was closer to continental they only had hot pancakes and coffee. They did not clean the rooms at all.
- 0.5/5
The curtains were moldy from the air conditioner. Trash was left on the balcony from previous guest and my son was COVERED in bedbug bites! We didn¿t see the bugs the first night but we did notice a few bites but after the 2nd night he was covered!!
- 0.5/5
Old and dirty, worst hotel experience ever. Booked online but room rate was much cheaper on site.
- 2.5/5
Constant puddles of water in elevator and hallways
- 4/5
While they are renovating a little more care could be taken about the housekeeping on the balcony and around the grounds
- 4.5/5
the cleanliness
- 0.5/5
The hotel looks deserted. I thought the place was closed down
