    The inside of the hotel was really clean. The outside could have used a once over but not terrible. The room was clean. Our toilet did overflow but it was taken care of. It is a bit strange that the coffee maker and ice/cups are in the bathroom. Especially with how much room the actual room has. We didn’t use either item as they were not needed for our stay but I wouldn’t either for that reason.

    We were there for my kids softball tournament that weekend. They seemed really comfortable and were able to relax to the fullest. Really clean and tidy and staff was really nice and polite. Also the hot breakfast in the morning was great as well. No complaints here.

    I booked a surprise trip for my partners birthday from April16th-April20th. I booked a specific suite. I had been in communication with the staff/property well in advance letting them know how important this trip was. When we arrived we were placed in a room that I did not book. I immediately went back to the lobby and informed staff that there was a mistake and we were in wrong room. Staff reported they would reach out to manager but in the meantime there was not anything they could do…fast forward management never came to us. I seemed him out Saturday and was initially told he was unaware of the situation. I told him I knew he was aware because staff (multiple staff members) assured me they made him aware via phone,message and protocol book. The manager, Bijal was very dismissive telling me because I booked through third party there was nothing he could do. I told him that was unacceptable he then said he could change the room . Meanwhile the trip was half way over. We were placed in the room I payed for Saturday 2pm. When we checked out Monday he gave us two waters while making reference to us not having to pay so much at the gas station for them and no solution in sight for the actual issue of being placed in the wrong room for half the trip. I’m very disappointed with our experience here to say the least.

    I expected better from a Best Western. The evening front desk was friendly and tried to help. Our TV did not work. The front desk lady gave us a different remote and turned it off and on. She said to wait 7 minutes and it would work. It did not. We were already in PJ's so just went to bed. I like to watch TV before I sleep and in the morning to watch the weather especially on a trip. I said something at the front desk the next day but no offer of adjustment was given. There was a quarter inch gap between the door and the door frame letting light and noise in. I thought the price was high and not a good value for our experience. Will never stay here again. There are too many other choices. The hotel was rated 8.6 and was a Best Western so I thought it would be OK. The room was clean. The breakfast OK. If you walk to Russo's pizza from the hotel, the sidewalk ends before you get there and you have to walk across a busy divided intersection So not very walkable.

    The hotel is in need of repair. The staff, while friendly, was also kind of a mess. The cable tv wouldn’t work. Called the front desk multiple times, no response. Went to the front desk and the attendant came to the room. She spent at least thirty minutes trying to fix it. Finally, maintenance was called. That debacle lasted at least another hour. He would leave the room to go to others, then freely walk back into the room. No knock, just came and went. Was given the option to change rooms and we accepted. The room key was to be delivered. Waited another thirty minutes and no show. Went back to the front desk to finally get a key. The entire issue was more than two hours, which to me, was unacceptable. Again, staff was kind but extremely disorganized and for the price, room was subpar.

    The lobby was nice, the breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. Our room, however, was quite a different story. It had a horrible smell, the carpet was old and grimy, and the bathroom was in dire need of upgrading. They offer free cruise parking, but I am sure I could have stayed in a nicer place and paid for parking for less than I paid for my room for one night. Additionally, there are cars everywhere on Saturday nights, which made me wonder what would happen in an emergency. There was nowhere for emergency vehicles to park. I will not stay here again.

    Why and how is this hotel rated so high on Expedia?? It's a dump. I am embarrassed I booked here and had to apologize to my family multiple times for taking the Expedia reviews seriously. Firstly, they allow long term cruise parking so there is no parking for guests; we had to park on the Seawall which is not the hotel parking lot. The interior was run down. This place needs a major renovation. The entire gym was closed. The walls were so thin that we heard the conversations of the guests next door and heavy footsteps and loud noises from upstairs literally all night. The noisiest hotel I have ever stayed at. The refrigerator didn't work. The furniture was chipped and cracked. The "pull out sofa" mattress was no longer a mattress, just springs. Awful. The most bizarre thing was the floor underneath the carpet in the room; there are weird huge bumps in the flooring underneath the carpet. It's like walking in a funhouse. The only positive thing about our stay was the front desk manager Renee; she was kind and helpful and cheerful.

It is first come first serve though so if you are planning to use them for cruise parking I would recommend getting there sooner! But the staff was very nice and answered any questions we had!     Clean, spacious room. BUT the walls are PAPER thin!! This is not the property for a restful night. You could hear every word (and deed) from the hallway, front office and your neighbors. Best part is it's less than two miles from the cruise port terminals, and offers free parking for 7-day cruisers. Free continental breakfast. Comfortable bed. Great A/C.

    Before booking, I called the hotel four times to confirm one simple question: could I book one night and park my car for 7 days while going on a cruise? Each time, the receptionist confirmed yes — book one night, sign a waiver, and park. I did exactly that. I arrived, signed the waiver, and was told I could park anywhere. After leaving the property, the owner called me and immediately began yelling, using profanity, and threatening to tow my car and call the police unless I returned and physically stayed the night — something that was never communicated before. When I asked why it mattered, he said I “didn’t understand sh…t,” the told me not to return to the property, and said a towing company had already been called. Fearing for my safety, I sent my husband to retrieve the car. The owner then followed him, cursed at him, and attempted to provoke a physical confrontation and told him “to go back to his country!” This was not a misunderstanding — it was a discrimination, intimidation and harassment. I have proof of my calls and followed all instructions given. No guest should ever feel threatened by a hotel owner. This place showed zero professionalism or basic decency.

    Great spot to stay thats close to everything. Parking can get a little hectic. Most likely because of people leaving their cars to go on the cruise ship. I heard. If you stay one night, your car can stay for free for up to 7 days.

    My only positive was the front desk staff, they were friendly and tried to fix my issue. My room had a musty damp smell and there was mold on the curtains. My biggest issue with my room was the shower. The shower handle was broken, it just spun around and around and I think this is the reason it wasn’t producing hot water. I was there for 3 nights and for 3 nights I took cold to luke warm showers. The sink however did have hot water so I started using a cup of hot water from the sink to shower. The breakfast had spots for yogurt, but no yogurt, they had eggs and sausage but only pork options so I had to pass on that as well.

    We arrived early on Friday. There was plenty of parking. We left for dinner and upon return (cruise ship passengers had arrived for their trip the next morning), and there was not one parking place left) even in the fire lane, or street sidewalk. Cars were parked every inch around the property in areas that were illegal places to park. This was Friday night, same cars continued to be left in those spaces until we left Sunday. It would seem Best Western had rented those parking places to the cruise passengers for the week they traveled. It left the guests at Best Western with no parking places. Except to park illegally. Which we were forced to do. This should not be acceptable, as it reflects badly on your national brand of a great hotel chain.

    Ease of the front desk help un the morning to afternoon was good. Evening not so much, disgusting the tub wouldnt drain fast enough while showering and standing in 2 in of water. The rebrand and remodel may be in the right direction, however not there yet. Still a 2 star at best

    We had a drunk man open our door with his key the first night and tried to enter the room. It was very late and we heard him trying to gain entry to other rooms as well. The door bar was in position however so he was unable to access completely thank goodness. I alerted the front desk who re-keyed our room keys. Crisis averted!! : ) The pool was amazing and parking was the best I've even encountered at a hotel. We will stay again!

    I stayed overnight on a Sunday to Monday at Best Western with ny husband. First thing I noticed when walking in to check in was how fresh and clean the hotel smelled. The room itself was a good size for 2 adults. The tv had direct tv with a guide which was nice. Make sure the showerhead is pointed down toward the tub because I didnt adjust it and water went out of the shower and puddled onto the floor and reached the door. It was a good value and in a quiet part of Galveston. Would stay again in the future.

    Upon arrival noticed chewed gum on the sheets. Mold and dirt on the curtains and lamp shades. Bathroom had quite a bit of mold in the shower. It was noisy. The rooms have no sound barrier. You could hear people talking and walking in the hallway and sounded if they were in the room. For almost $300 for one night I expected more.

    2 day stay. The hotel is run down in spots but it is galveston and the beach, you have to expect some of these things. bed was a little uncomfortable. Housekeeping was wonderful. Breakfast was wonderful. I felt safe at the hotel.

    The hotel is an excellent location to downtown Galveston and the seawall It is not too far from the Port of Galveston. The hotel allows guests that are going on a cruise to leave their car on the property for the duration of the cruise at no extra cost. You save money by not parking down by the port. There are inexpensive options for getting a ride to the port.

    Good location, right across the highway from the seawall. And convenient to the ferry and downtown. We were able to look out the window of our room and see the ocean. Also, the entire property was clean and up to date, comfy bed, great pool, good breakfast with eggs, sausages, waffles, breads, cereals, etc. I would definitely stay there again!

    The property is very modern and clean. The staff was phenomenal. The only issue we had with the room was that it is on the dark side with not enough lighting especially in the bathroom. One mirror with dim lighting around it was all that was provided in the bathroom. Almost impossible to do hair/makeup anywhere in the room. Ended up having to open the curtains and use a tiny mirror over the desk for that. There was a problem with the people overhead being really loud. One call to the front desk and it was handled quickly.

    We enjoyed our suite, thought the tub was opened to the room but it was still big enough for two and we enjoyed the peacefulness of it all. Next time we would do the third floor to have a better view of the ocean. Staff was friendly and hotel was clean they take pride in their jobs and that shines through.
